[0004] BACKGROUND ART

[0005] Cooker hoods are devices that ensure that smoke and odor are directed to a chimney or air duct by suction in order to prevent smoke and odor occurring in a cooking region, such as a countertop (hob) cooker or a built-in cooker, from spreading into the indoor environment. In particular, while built-in (i.e., integrated) type cooker hoods provide an aesthetic appearance, they must also have a design that meets the user’s functional needs. In built-in type cooker hoods, there is a rotatable second panel portion, in particular a rotatable glass panel portion, having at least one control button configured such that the air suction levels can be controlled. When users touch the second panel portion to control the cooker hood, the second panel portion moves in the direction of contact and therefore usage ergonomics cannot be provided.

The hinge structure comprises an upper hinge support and a lower hinge support. The upper hinge support comprises a bearing plate connected to a glass panel and a connecting plate perpendicular to the bearing plate, and the connecting plate has a first shaft hole. The lower hinge support comprises a support base fixedly connected to the body and a connecting arm arranged on the support base. The connecting arm comprises a vertical section connected to the support base and a bent section extending rearward from the vertical section, and the bent section has a second shaft hole. The side-suction type cooker hood comprises a glass panel of a cooker hood body. The cooker hood body and the glass panel are connected in a rotatable mode via the hinge structure, anda plurality of connecting components are disposed on the inner side of the glass panel. Each connecting component comprises a magnetic connector, and magnetic attraction is obtained when the connectors are rotated such that the glass panel is close to the cooker hood body.

[0007] BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The object of the present invention is to provide a cooker hood comprising a rotatable panel portion which, while enabling ergonomic use in its open position, can direct the air content generated during a cooking process in the cooking region to the inlet portion more effectively.

[0009] In order to achieve the above objective, the invention is a cooker hood comprising, a fixed first panel portion provided so as to extend substantially in a reference plane; at least one inlet portion configured on the first panel portion such that the air content generated during a cooking process performed in a cooking region can be directed thereto; and a rotatable second panel portion having opposing hinge assemblies so as to be able to transition between a closed position in which the inlet portion is completely covered and is substantially parallel to the reference plane, and an open position in which the inlet portion is accessible from outside at least partially and an opening angle is formed between the second panel portion and the reference plane. Each of the hinge assemblies of the cooker hood comprises a respective follower element which is connected to the second panel portion on one side, which has a free end portion on the other side, and which is made of a metal material; and each of the follower elements comprises a respective abutment wall configured at the end portion so as to contact a respective magnetic element in the open position in which the opening angle of the second panel portion is at its maximum. In this way, the second panel portion is ensured to remain in a fixed position in the open position in which the opening angle is at its maximum, thereby providing ergonomic use. In addition, it is ensured that the rising hot air content generated during a cooking process on the front side of the cooking region is directed to the inlet portion. Thus, the cooker hood draws in and directs a larger portion of the air content generated in the cooking region to the chimney or air duct.

[0010] The cooking region mentioned herein may be a cooking appliance, in particular a cooker / hob, for example a countertop cooker or a built-in cooker. Said cooking appliance may also be an oven, in particular a freestanding (solo) oven. By the front side of the cooking region, the burner elements (burners) on the side of the countertop cooker closer to the user are meant.

[0011] The air content mentioned herein comprises all of the vapor, smoke, and odors generated during the cooking process. The air content may include grease particles. The first panel portion mentioned herein refers to a planar panel structure essentially in plate form. The first panel portion may, for example, be manufactured from a glass-ceramic material. The first panel portion may have any closed geometric shape suitable for the lower body of the cooker hood, for example a substantially rectangular-like shape. A middle region of the first panel portion away from its edges may be configured as cut out so as to provide a central opening, i.e., the inlet portion.

[0012] The second panel portion mentioned herein refers to another planar panel structure essentially in plate form. The second panel portion may, for example, be manufactured from a glassceramic material. The second panel portion may be provided rotatably in the cut-out central portion of the first panel portion. The second panel portion may be shaped and dimensioned in accordance with the cut-out central opening of the first panel portion, i.e., the inlet portion. For example, the second panel portion may have a square-like or rectangular-like shape. The first panel portion and the second panel portion may be manufactured from the same glassceramic material. The specified second panel portion may be a control panel having control elements thereon. The control elements may be button-like elements controlled manually, or may be a touch-sensitive button developed to be sensitive to touch, or a push button.

[0013] The follower elements mentioned herein are elements configured to follow the opening movement of the second panel portion. The follower elements may be manufactured from a metal material, for example any iron or steel material.

[0014] The magnetic element mentioned herein may be any element capable of generating a magnetic field so as to attract according to the material of the follower element, for example a magnet.

[0015] In a possible embodiment of the invention, at least one control button is provided on an outwardly facing panel front surface of the second panel portion such that the air suction levels of the cooker hood can be controlled. Thus, the user is enabled to ergonomically control the air suction levels of the cooker hood. For example, when the user touches a control button on the second panel portion, ergonomic use is ensured because the second panel portion remains in a fixed position. In this embodiment, the user does not need to use both hands, i.e., to hold the second panel portion with one hand and press the control button with the other hand; it is sufficient to press the control button with only one hand. The control button mentioned herein may be a touch button capable of sensing by user contact. While some of the control buttons may have the function of controlling the air suction levels of the cooker hood, at least one control button may have a different function, for example the function of turning on and off a lighting element for illuminating the cooking region. The shape and number of the control buttons may vary depending on the type of the cooker hood and the suction levels.

[0016] The number of the air suction levels specified herein may vary depending on the type of the cooker hood. For example, the cooker hood may have at least three different air suction levels.

[0017] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the hinge assemblies are configured such that the second panel portion can rotate about a width direction axis along which a front edge of the inlet portion, which is close to a front side of the cooker hood, extends. Thus, it is ensured that the rising hot air content generated during a cooking process on the front side of the cooking region is directed to the inlet portion. Therefore, the cooker hood draws in and directs a larger portion of the air content generated in the cooking region to the chimney or air duct.

[0018] In a possible embodiment of the invention, a filter arrangement is present in the inlet portion, the filter arrangement comprising a filter portion through which the air content can pass, and a filter frame portion provided so as to at least partially surround the filter portion. Thus, the air content rising from the cooking region is directed to the filter portion. Therefore, grease particles in the air content are prevented from entering into the cooker hood.

[0019] Here, the inlet portion may contain only one filter portion or more than one filter portion. The filter portion may be configured to have dense holes so as to remove grease particles in the air content.

[0020] In a possible embodiment of the invention, bracket parts are present which are configured, on one side, to be connected to a panel rear surface opposite the panel front surface of the second panel portion, and, on the other side, to be connected to the filter frame portion via first connection elements so that the second panel portion can rotate about a rotation axis. Thus, it is ensured that the rotational movement of the second panel portion is transmitted to the follower element.

[0021] In a possible embodiment of the invention, an adhesive element is present in order to connect the bracket parts to the panel rear surface. Thus, the bracket parts are connected to the panel. The adhesive element mentioned herein may be a liquid-based adhesive or a tape. For example, the liquid-based adhesive may be a silicone. For example, the tape may be a doublesided tape.

[0022] In a possible embodiment of the invention, on the filter frame portion, a respective fixing wall is provided extending toward a respective connection edge portion of each bracket part, and the first connection element is configured to connect said respective connection edge portion and said respective fixing wall to each other. Thus, a rotation axis about which the second panel portion can rotate is provided.

[0023] In a possible embodiment of the invention, in the filter frame portion, a respective passage opening is present corresponding to the follower elements, through which the respective follower elements pass. Thus, the end portion of the follower element configured to ensure that the second panel portion remains in a fixed position in the open position in which the opening angle is at its maximum is hidden in an inner portion of the filter frame that is not visible to the user. Therefore, the aesthetic appearance of the second panel portion in the open position is improved.

[0024] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the follower elements have a linear portion provided extending substantially in the same direction as the respective connection edge portion and configured to be connected to the respective connection edge portion, and a curved portion passing through the respective passage opening and on which the respective abutment wall is configured. Thus, the follower element is connected to the bracket parts and can follow the rotational movement of the second panel portion.

[0025] The curved portion specified herein may have any shape capable of following the rotational movement of the second bracket part, for example a quarter-circle-like shape.

[0026] In a possible embodiment of the invention, when the second panel portion is in the closed position, corresponding fastening projections are present on the filter frame portion so as to correspond to a portion of the bracket parts. Thus, it is enabled to overcome gravitational force so that the second panel portion can remain stable in the closed position.

[0027] In a possible embodiment of the invention, a housing part is present on a frame inner surface opposite a frame outer surface of the filter frame portion facing the second panel portion, the housing part being configured to receive at least partially the magnetic element. Thus, ahousing part configured such that the magnetic element can remain in the same fixed position is provided.

[0028] Here, the housing part receiving at least partially the magnetic element means that the housing part can receive the magnetic element completely, or that the housing part can have a seating recess or slot configured to receive a portion of the magnetic element.

[0029] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the maximum value of the opening angle of the second panel portion is configured to be at least 90°, in particular between 108° and 112°, preferably 110°. Thus, an ideal opening angle range is provided such that the rising hot air content generated during a cooking process on the front side of the cooking region can be directed to the inlet portion.

[0030] In a possible embodiment of the invention, a grip recess is present on a longitudinal edge of the second panel portion that is farther away relative to the hinge assemblies. Thus, the user can easily perform the transitions of the second panel portion between the closed position and the open position by grasping the second panel portion from the grip recess.

[0031] The grip recess mentioned herein may be provided in any ergonomic form such that the user’s hand can enter. For example, the grip recess may be provided in the form of a curved recess.

[0032] Each possible embodiment disclosed in this description can be combined with other possible embodiments disclosed in this description, provided that there is no technical restriction.

[0043] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0044] In this detailed description, the cooker hood (1) according to the invention is explained with examples solely for a better understanding of the subject matter, without creating any limiting effect.

[0045] As can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, the cooker hood (1) given as an example is configured such that the air content generated during a cooking process performed in a cooking region (not shown in the figures) can be directed thereto. The cooking region may be a region in which a cooking process can be performed in a kitchen environment with devices such as a countertop hob, a built-in hob, a freestanding (solo) oven. In its most general form, the cooker hood (1) comprises an upper body (2) and a lower body (3). The lower body (3) constitutes a portion of the cooker hood (1 ) that is closer to the cooking region. The lower body (3) may have a larger width in a width direction (x) and a larger depth in a depth direction compared to the upper body (2). The upper body (2) is a portion provided between the lower body (3) and the ventilation system and directs the air content drawn from the cooking region to the ventilation system. The upper body (2) is connected to the lower body (3) from a middle portion of the lower body (3). The lower body (3) and the upper body (2) are related to each other in terms of airflow. That is, the air content drawn by the lower body (3) is directed to the ventilation system via the upper body (2). The lower body (3) comprises a fixed first panel portion (11 ), in particular a glass-ceramic panel portion, provided so as to extend substantially in a referenceplane (P). The first panel portion (11) is shaped and dimensioned according to the lower body (3). The first panel portion (11 ) is substantially in planar plate form. The first panel portion (11 ) defines a central opening so as to enable access to an inlet portion (4). The central opening is configured in a middle region of the first panel portion (11 ). The inlet portion (4) is a portion to which the air content generated during the cooking process is directed. The lower body (3) further has a rotatable second panel portion (12), in particular a glass-ceramic panel portion, configured to selectively cover the inlet portion (4). The second panel portion (12) is substantially in planar plate form. Figure 1 shows the cooker hood (1) in a closed position in which the inlet portion (4) is completely covered by the second panel portion (12). When the second panel portion (12) is in the closed position, it is positioned substantially parallel to the reference plane (P). The second panel portion (12) in the closed position is also positioned substantially parallel to the first panel portion (11). In the closed position, the panel portions (11, 12) are provided substantially in the same horizontal plane. On a panel front surface (13) of the second panel portion (12), at least one control button (15) is provided such that the suction levels of the cooker hood (1) can be controlled. Said control buttons (15) may be provided in a touch-type structure. The control buttons (15) are positioned spaced apart from each other in the width direction (x) of the second panel portion (12). As can be seen in Figure 4, the first panel portion (11) has a substantially rectangular-like periphery. Similarly, the second panel portion (12), shaped and dimensioned according to the inlet portion (4), also has a substantially rectangular-like shape. The second panel portion (12) comprises a grip recess (27) on a front side (45) that is close to the user in the closed position. When the user wants the second panel portion (12) to transition from the closed position to the open position, the user can perform this transition by gripping the second panel portion (12) from the grip recess (27), which acts as a handle, and pulling it toward himself / herself. The grip recess (27) is configured on a long edge of the second panel portion (12). Preferably, the grip recess (27) is formed in a middle region of the relevant long edge of the second panel portion (12).

[0046] Figure 2 shows the cooker hood (1) in an open position of the second panel portion (12) in which the inlet portion (4) is accessible from outside at least partially. In the open position, the opening angle (A) of the second panel portion (12) has reached its maximum value. In this case, the opening angle (A) is configured to be at least 90°, in particular between 108° and 112°, preferably 110°. The opening angle (A) is an angle between the plane in which the second panel portion (12) extends and the reference plane (P). In the open position, the second panel portion (12) is positioned close to the front side (45) of the cooker hood (1) that is close to the user. The second panel portion (12) is ensured to remain in a fixed position in the open position in which the opening angle is at its maximum, thereby providing ergonomic use. This ergonomic use means that the second panel portion (12) can maintain its fixedposition when the user touches the control buttons (15) on the panel front surface (13) of the second panel portion (12). In addition, it is ensured that more of the rising hot air content generated during a cooking process on the front side of the cooking region can be directed to the inlet portion (4). That is, at the stated ideal opening angle (A) of the second panel portion (12) in the open position, a larger portion of the air content generated in the cooking region is directed toward the cooker hood (1). The second panel portion (12) is configured in a rotatable structure so as to be able to transition between the closed position and the open position. As can be seen in Figures 3 and 5, in the inlet portion (4), a filter arrangement (6) is present comprising a filter portion (7) through which the air content can pass and a filter frame portion (8) provided so as to at least partially surround the filter portion (7). As can be seen in Figure 7, the filter frame portion (8) has filter retaining portions (38) configured to hold edge portions of the filter portion (7). The filter retaining portions (38) are provided as flexible extensions having a form substantially similar to an L-shape. By providing the filter arrangement (6) and the first panel portion (11 ) in different horizontal planes, an inlet recess (5) is formed in the inlet portion (4). The filter portion (7) is configured so as to remove grease particles from the air drawn from the cooking region. On a panel rear surface (14) of the second panel portion (12) opposite the panel front surface (13), a panel electronics unit (16) is present corresponding to the portion where the control buttons (15) are located. The transitions of the second panel portion (12) between the open position and the closed position are provided by opposing hinge assemblies (17) in the width direction (x). The hinge assemblies (17) are provided in structures identical to each other. Each of the hinge assemblies (17) comprises a respective follower element (34, 35), i.e., a first follower element (34) and a second follower element (35), which is connected to the second panel portion (12) on one side, has a free end portion (44) on the other side, and is made of a metal material. The hinge assemblies (17) are configured such that the second panel portion (12) can rotate about the width direction (x) axis along which a front edge (46) of the inlet portion (4), which is close to the front side (45) of the cooker hood (1), extends. On the panel rear surface (14), bracket parts (18, 19), i.e., a first bracket part (18) and a second bracket part (19), are also present, configured to be connected on one side to said panel rear surface (14) and configured to be connected on the other side to the filter frame portion (8) via first connection elements (30) such as screws or bolts so that the second panel portion (12) can rotate about a rotation axis (R). The bracket parts (18, 19) are positioned spaced apart from each other in the width direction (x) of the panel rear surface (14). The bracket parts (18, 19) are provided extending substantially in a direction parallel to the respective short edges of the second panel portion (12). Each of the bracket parts (18, 19) is connected to the panel rear surface (14) by an adhesive element (47), for example a liquidbased adhesive, preferably a silicone. The adhesive elements (47) are located between the panel rear surface (14) and the respective bracket part (18, 19). On a lower surface of each ofthe bracket parts (18, 19) facing the panel rear surface (14), a plurality of receiving recesses (26) are present. As the adhesive element (47) fills the receiving recesses (26), it is ensured that the bracket parts (18, 19) adhere strongly to the panel rear surface (14). On the other hand, each of the bracket parts (18, 19) has a respective connection edge portion (20, 21) provided in a plane substantially perpendicular to the lower surface facing the panel rear surface (14). That is, the first bracket part (18) has a first connection edge portion (20), and the second bracket part (19) has a second connection edge portion (21). Each of the follower elements (34, 35) has a linear portion (36) provided extending substantially in the same direction as the respective connection edge portion (20, 21) and configured to be connected to the respective connection edge portion (20, 21). The respective linear portions (36) are connected to the respective connection edge portions (20, 21) by at least one, preferably two, second connection elements (31). The second connection elements (31) are connection elements such as a screw or bolt. In addition, on the filter frame portion (8), a respective fixing wall (28, 29), i.e., a first fixing wall (28) and a second fixing wall (29), is present provided extending toward the respective connection edge portion (20, 21) of each of the bracket parts (18, 19). The fixing walls (28, 29) are positioned in the inlet recess (5) spaced apart from each other in the width direction (x). The first connection elements (30) are configured to connect the respective connection edge portion (20, 21) and the respective fixing wall (28, 29) to each other. The first connection elements (30) are connected so as to extend in the width direction (x). The concentric axes passing through the centers of the first connection elements (30) define the rotation axis (R) of the second panel portion (12). In addition, in the filter frame portion (8), respective passage openings (32, 33), i.e., a first passage opening (32) and a second passage opening (33), are present corresponding to the follower elements (34, 35), through which the respective follower elements (34, 35) pass. As can be seen in Figure 6, the fixing walls (28, 29) have a horizontal connecting wall (39) passing through the respective passage openings (32, 33) so as to be connected to the frame inner surface (10). This connection may be achieved by an adhesive element (not shown in the figures) provided between the frame inner surface (10) and the respective horizontal connecting wall (39). Each of the fixing walls (28, 29) has a shape substantially similar to an L-shape. Each of the follower elements (34, 35) has a curved portion (37) passing through the respective passage opening (32, 33) and on which a respective abutment wall (41) is configured.

[0047] With reference to Figure 6, each of the follower elements (34, 35) comprises a respective abutment wall (41) configured at the end portion (44) so as to contact a respective magnetic element (43), for example a magnet, in the open position in which the opening angle (A) of the second panel portion (12) is at its maximum. As can be seen in Figure 6, when the second panel portion (12) is in the open position, the abutment walls (41) contact the respectivemagnetic element (43). In this way, thanks to the magnetic attraction force provided by the magnetic element (43), the second panel portion (12) can remain in a fixed position in the open position. With reference to Figure 8, on a frame inner surface (10) opposite the frame outer surface (9) of the filter frame portion (8) facing the second panel portion (12), a respective housing part (40) is present. The housing parts (40) are parts having a substantially cylindrical shape. The housing parts (40) are configured to receive at least partially the respective magnetic element (43). More specifically, as can be seen in Figure 9, each of the housing parts (40) has a respective seating recess (54). The magnetic elements (43) are shaped and dimensioned according to the respective seating recess (54). The magnetic elements (43) fit tightly into the respective seating recess (54). Subsequently, a vertical fastening element (24), for example a screw or bolt, passes through a first passage hole (51) of the respective magnetic element (43) and a second passage hole (52) of the respective housing part, respectively. Thereafter, the vertical fastening element (24) passes through the filter frame portion (8) and engages, at a lower side of the filter frame portion (8), in an engagement hole (53) of a fastening part (25), preferably a fastening nut. Thus, the housing parts (40) in which the respective magnetic elements (43) are seated are connected to the filter frame portion (8) as shown in Figure 8. The housing part (40) has a substantially planar abutment surface (42). When the second panel portion (12) is in the open position, in addition to the abutment walls (41) contacting the respective magnetic element (43), the abutment walls (41) are also seated on the abutment surface (42).

[0048] With reference to Figure 7, when the second panel portion (12) is in the closed position, the respective abutment walls (41) are moved away from the respective magnetic elements (43). This moving away occurs when the user applies a pushing force to the second panel portion (12), and the applied pushing force overcomes the magnetic attraction force of the magnetic elements (43). On the other hand, with reference to Figures 3 and 5, when the second panel portion (12) is in the closed position, corresponding fastening projections (48, 49), i.e., a first fastening projection (48) and a second fastening projection (49), are present on the filter frame portion (8) so as to correspond to the connection edge portions (20, 21). The connection edge portions (20, 21) are configured to extend from the side of the respective bracket parts (18, 19) close to the hinge assemblies (17) toward a respective distal end (22, 23) farther away relative to the hinge assemblies (17). That is, the first connection edge portion (20) on the first bracket part (18) is configured to extend from the hinge assembly (17) toward the first distal end (22), and similarly, the second connection edge portion (21) on the second bracket part (19) is configured to extend from the hinge assembly (17) toward the second distal end (23). The bracket parts (18, 19) may have a form substantially similar to an L-shape. When the second panel portion (12) transitions from the open position to the closed position, by a portion of therespective bracket parts (18, 19), for example the respective connection edge portions (20, 21 ) and / or respective surfaces of the bracket parts (18, 19), engaging with the respective fastening projections (48, 49), it is ensured that the second panel portion (12) can remain stably and safely in the closed position. Preferably, said fastening projections (48, 49) may be a magnetic element, for example a magnet. Thus, it is ensured that a portion of the bracket parts (18, 19) made of a metal material can be attracted to the respective magnetic element. Said fastening projections (48, 49) are protrusion portions having a substantially cylindrical shape. In this way, it is ensured that the respective bracket parts (18, 19) engage with a top portion and a lateral surface of the fastening projections (48, 49) having a substantially cylindrical shape so as to increase the contact surface area.
