Abstract

I. BACKGROUND The first electric vehicle is believed to have been invented in 1820 by the Hungarian priest and physicist Anyos Jedlik, who designed a primitive electric motor. Later, around 1832-1839, the Scottish inventor Robert Anderson also invented the "electric carriage", and in 1835, Professor Sibrandus Stratingh of Groningen, Netherlands, and his assistant Christopher Becker from Germany created a small-scale electric vehicle. In the 21st century, electric vehicles have gained irreversible popularity worldwide, and ever increasing numbers of people are switching to electric vehicles to reduce pollution and cut fuel costs. The single biggest constraint for users is the need to regularly charge the battery of an electric vehicle. Nonetheless, new technological innovations are providing solutions for the self-charging of electric vehicles, which represents one of the most promising trends within the automotive industry. II. ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION Self-charging is an electric vehicle technology that allows a vehicle to charge itself when driving, without having to be connected to an external charging station. This can be achieved by dynamic charging during driving, which is carried out by generators that are set in motion by the motion of the wheels of the vehicle. The electrical energy generated is stored in a traction battery or is used directly by an electric motor. Electrical energy is generated by a mechanical drive of the wheels of the electric vehicle while the vehicle is in motion. The actual production of electrical energy is carried out by a dynamo or generator. If insufficient energy is produced, the engine of the electric vehicle uses the energy stored in the traction battery. The amount of electrical energy generated depends on the speed of travel of the electric vehicle. The amount of electrical energy to be self-generated is calculated according to the needs of the electric vehicle and is determined with respect to the requisite power of the dynamo. It is important to note that when determining the power of the dynamo, the power should be greater than the net electrical energy used, taking into account energy conversion efficiency. The dynamo (generator) is mounted between the wheels to a frame (integral body) of the electric vehicle in the rear or front chassis. The dynamo is mounted in such a way as to ensure that it remains in a fixed position. The dynamo is set in motion by connection to the running gear (wheels) of the electric vehicle. The electrical energy generated is fed to a charging port via an insulated cable. The conductor that transmits generated electrical energy from the dynamo to the traction battery should be connected to the charging port in such a way that electrical energy does not cross the road when a stationary charging station is used. Electrical energy generation is monitored via an electric instrument panel of the vehicle. For reliability and safety and to prevent damage, all of the parts are insulated by pipes or are made of non-combustible materials.

[0026] The self-charging of an electric car is done by constantly producing electrical energy. The energy produced is stored in the electric vehicle's traction battery or used directly by the electric traction motor.

The production of electrical energy itself is carried out by means of a dynamo. In the event that the energy produced is not sufficient, the engine uses the energy stored in the traction battery.
