Abstract
Description
[0001] Fastener, a fastening system and a method for fastening
[0002] The present invention relates to a fastener for fastening a first component to a base component. Further the invention relates to a system comprising a fastener, a first component and a base component for fastening a first component to a base component. Further the invention relates to a method for fastening a first component to a base component.
[0003] Background prior-art
[0004] US 2015063944 AA teaches a fastener that combines the functions of a screw and a washer into one piece, simplifying assembly and reducing the number of parts needed. By using a Belleville-shaped head, this fastener creates a clamping force when installed, ensuring a connection between materials. The disadvantage of this fastener is, that it creates a safety hazard as its head is protruding out of the fastened material, and the sealing function, especially regarding water, is not guaranteed.
[0005] EP 0527999 A1 discloses a screw with a groove that collects material as it cuts into the blind hole, making the installation process cleaner and more efficient. The self-tapping thread allows the screw to create its own thread in the material, ensuring a secure fit without the operation of cutting a thread. By incorporating a thread that extends into the groove, the screw enhances its grip and stability, reducing the risk of loosening over time. The disadvantage of this screw is, that it creates a safety hazard as its head is protruding out of the fastened material, and the sealing function, especially regarding water, is not guaranteed.
[0006] An objective of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a fastener, a fastening system and a method for fastening which provides a high corrosion protection combined with a high fastening load, an enhanced safety for the user and a wide range of application, including a fast and easy fastening process due to the configuration of the fastener.Description of the invention
