Description

Title: Vehicle Congestion System

[0001] The present application relates to a vehicle storage system. In particular, the present application relates to a vehicle storage system that can be installed in place of a seat, usually a rear seat, of a vehicle. For this purpose, the existing rear seat of the vehicle is removed and the vehicle storage system is attached to the existing (seat) mounting points, which are usually very stable.

[0002] It has been observed that in many vehicles with rear seats, these are sometimes used for storing cargo. This is especially true when the vehicle is primarily used as an everyday car but occasionally for vacation trips. This is particularly common in double-cab pickups. Since the cargo is usually stored unsecured in the area of the rear seats, there is a risk that it could shift and become uncontrolled within the vehicle. Furthermore, access to the stored cargo is often rather inconvenient, as the load tends to get mixed up, especially on off-road terrain.

[0003] The present application therefore aims to propose a vehicle stowage system that allows for the simple and safe transport of objects and liquids in a vehicle and that is modular in design and easily removable from the vehicle.

[0004] According to one aspect of the present application, a vehicle storage system comprises at least one mounting and at least one mounting adapter and / or at least one storage module. The mounting is designed and suitable for attachment to at least one seat mounting point of a vehicle, e.g., mounting points of a rear seat. Other mounting points, such as seat belt attachments, may also be used. Furthermore, the storage module is designed and suitable for attachment to the mounting or the mounting adapter. The mounting adapter is also designed and suitable for attachment to the mounting. In other words, the at least one storage module (if present) can be attached directly to the mounting or via the mounting adapter. The mounting adapter is connected to the mounting and is optional. The mounting adapter can have a vertical mounting adapter and / or a horizontal mounting adapter. "Vertical" and "horizontal" refer to the general orientation of the respective mounting adapter. For example, the backrest of a rear bench seat would be considered "vertical" and a seat cushion "horizontal," even though neither is vertical or horizontal in the mathematical sense. This can be advantageous because the vehicle storage system can be easily installed in a vehicle without requiring extensive modifications, such as installing additional brackets.

[0005] According to another aspect of the present application, a single storage module of a vehicle storage system can comprise at least one of the following: a tank, a storage box, a pull-out drawer, a freezer, or a safe. The pull-out drawer can include a swiveling mechanism. This can have the advantage that the vehicle storage system can be individually adapted to different requirements.

[0006] According to another aspect of the present application, a vehicle storage system can be attached using lower and upper seat mounting points, seat belt mounting points, or seat belt guide mounting points. This can have the advantage of securely connecting the vehicle storage system to the vehicle in which it is installed.

[0007] According to another aspect of the present application, the mounting adapter in a vehicle stowage system comprises a multitude of mounting points. This can have the advantage that the vehicle stowage system can be used flexibly.

[0008] According to another aspect of the present application, the fastening points of a vehicle stowage system comprise a hole pattern. This can have the advantage that the vehicle stowage system can be manufactured easily.

[0009] According to another aspect of the present application, the hole pattern of a vehicle stowage system comprises an airline track hole pattern. Airline tracks are a well-known method in vehicle construction for individually and detachably attaching loads to the vehicle. A variety of fastening devices utilize this familiar hole pattern. The hole pattern of the airline tracks consists of round holes connected by straight slots. This can offer the advantage of flexible use of the vehicle stowage system.

[0010] According to another aspect of the present application, in a vehicle stowage system, the mounting adapter, when installed in a vehicle, at least partially covers vehicle parts and protects them, for example, from damage. This can have the advantage that the vehicle stowage system protects the vehicle and its fittings from damage caused, for example, by the load.

[0011] According to another aspect of the present application, a vehicle stowage system includes a power supply. This can have the advantage that the vehicle stowage system can be used more flexibly, as electrical components such as refrigerators can be connected.

[0012] According to another aspect of the present application, a vehicle congestion system includes a compressor. This can have the advantage that the vehicle congestion system can be used to safely connect a compressor to the vehicle in an easily accessible manner.

[0013] According to another aspect of the present application, in a vehicle storage system, the tank vent terminates in the area of the upper seat mounting points. This can have the advantage that the tank vent is located well above the tank, thus reducing the likelihood of fluid leaking from the vent during off-road driving.

[0014] According to another aspect of the present application, in a vehicle storage system, the tank has a drain device in the area of a tank outlet. This can have the advantage that, when liquid is drawn from the tank, any spilled liquid does not run into the vehicle, but rather out of the vehicle. The drain device can be movable.

[0015] According to another aspect of the present application, a vehicle jamming system includes at least one lighting component. This can have the advantage that the vehicle jamming system can be used more effectively in poor lighting conditions.

[0016] According to a further aspect of the present application, the vehicle stowage system can include at least one support which braces any of the components mentioned in this disclosure against a vehicle floor to provide additional stability. The at least one support can be adjustable. The support can, for example, be located between the mounting or mounting adapter and the vehicle floor. The support can be provided by a tank.

[0017] To better understand the invention, it is explained in more detail with reference to the following figures. These show a highly simplified, schematic representation:

[0018] Fig. 1 shows a schematic exploded view of a vehicle congestion system.

[0019] It should be noted at the outset that identical parts are designated with the same reference numerals or component designations, whereby the disclosures contained in the entire description can be applied analogously to (functionally) identical parts with the same reference numerals or component designations. Furthermore, the positional specifications chosen in the description, such as top, bottom, side, etc., refer to the directly described and illustrated figure or to a vehicle with a mounted vehicle stowage system standing on a horizontal plane, and these positional specifications must be applied analogously to any change in position.

[0020] With reference to Fig. 1, an exploded view of a vehicle stowage system 10 is shown. In the left part of Fig. 1, two fasteners 30 are shown, each attached to seat mounting points 40 of a vehicle (not shown). The fasteners 30 can also be attached to other suitable points on the vehicle into which the vehicle stowage system 10 is to be installed (e.g., a seat belt mounting point or seat belt guide mounting point). Seat mounting points can also be used if the vehicle has, for example, individual seats. The seat mounting points 40 comprise a lower seat mounting point 41 and an upper seat mounting point 42. Each fastener 30 is attached to a lower seat mounting point 41 and an upper seat mounting point 42.

[0021] A mounting 30 has a tank 21, which also serves as a support 90 on the vehicle floor (not shown). The tank 21 has a tank vent 22 that terminates in the area of the upper seat mounting point 42. The tank 21 also has a tank outlet 24 and a drain 23. Since the tank outlet 24 is located in the area of the vehicle floor or footwell when the vehicle storage system 10 is installed, fluid extraction can sometimes be difficult and spillage can occur. The drain 23 removes spilled fluid from the vehicle and can be, for example, a piece of tarpaulin or fabric, or a removable or movable channel or sheet metal.

[0022] The other mounting 30 has a support 90 which, when the vehicle storage system 10 is installed, rests against the vehicle floor or footwell. Both mountings 30 are depicted as angled components that essentially follow the shape of a bench seat, with the upwardly projecting part (attached to the upper bench seat mounting point 42) having an inclination relative to the vertical, as is known from backrests of bench seats. However, the shape of the mounting 30 is freely selectable and can be adapted to the specific vehicle and application.

[0023] On the right side of Fig. 1, a mounting adapter 50 is shown, which essentially follows the shape of a rear seat and fits onto the mountings 30 shown on the left in Fig. 1 and is designed and suitable for being attached to them. It is also possible to use only a vertical mounting adapter 50a or a horizontal mounting adapter 50b of the mounting adapter 50. The mounting adapter 50 has mountings 51. In the illustration of Fig. 1, this is a hole pattern in the horizontal mounting adapter 50b, as is known from airline rails. However, the hole pattern can also be present (alone) in the vertical mounting adapter 50a. Any other type of mounting can be used, such as threaded holes or studs, holes of any kind, pockets, or grooves. The fastenings 51 can be arranged arbitrarily on the fastening adapter 50; the arrangement shown is merely exemplary and not to scale.

[0024] A light 70 and a power supply 80 are arranged on the mounting adapter 50. The arrangement can be arbitrary. The light 70 can be movable (e.g., a gooseneck lamp). A storage module 20 is connected to the mounting adapter 50. With appropriate dimensions, the storage module 20 can also be directly connected to at least one of the mountings 30, as the mounting adapter 50 is optional. The storage module 20 can comprise a storage box 25, a cooler 27, a safe 28 (e.g., for firearms or photographic equipment), a tank 21, or a compressor 60. The compressor 60 can also be directly connected elsewhere to at least one of the mountings 30. The storage module 20 is mounted on an optional extension 26 (indicated by the arrow in Fig. 1) and can thus be at least partially extended, for example, through an open vehicle door to allow easier access.Only one storage module 20 is shown, but several storage modules may be present. Furthermore, an additional mounting adapter 50 may be present, which, for example, adds an extra level. In the illustration of Fig. 1, the mounting adapter 50 can at least partially cover vehicle parts, such as speakers or other installations, so that these cannot be damaged by the load of the vehicle storage system 10.

[0025] The scope of protection is defined by the claims. However, the description and drawings are to be consulted for the interpretation of the claims. Individual features or combinations of features from the different embodiments shown and described can, in themselves, represent independent inventive solutions. The problem underlying these independent inventive solutions can be found in the description. Finally, for the sake of clarity, it should be noted that, for a better understanding of the structure of the vehicle stowage system, some elements have been shown not to scale and / or enlarged and / or reduced in size.
