[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The invention, as the title of this descriptive document states, is a waterproof protective cover for electric scooters. It is an innovation that offers advantages previously unknown within current technology.
[0005] TECHNICAL SECTOR
[0006] The present invention falls within the sector of everyday needs, in sports, games and entertainment, specifically in vehicles and their accessories and in scooters with drivers, propelled by their wheels or by the movement of the driver.
[0007] Similarly, it falls under the classification of diverse industrial techniques and transport in land vehicles that move in a way other than on rails, especially in saddles or seats for cycles, auxiliary devices or accessories specially adapted to cycles not provided for elsewhere.
[0008] STATE OF THE ART
[0009] The present invention arises from observing that electric scooters, widely used as a means of urban transport, face deterioration problems caused by exposure to rain, impacts and scratches.
[0010] In everyday situations, these vehicles are vulnerable to inclement weather and wear and tear during normal use, which can affect their appearance, performance and, especially, the protection of their electronic components.
[0011] This not only reduces the scooter's lifespan, but also increases the risk of technical failures and costly repairs.
[0012] Consequently, this invention provides a waterproof protective cover for electric scooters designed to comprehensively protect the base and handlebars, maintaining their operability and safeguarding their key electronic components, such as the battery, against adverse weather conditions, such as rain or snow, and against accidents and scrapes with stones, sidewalks, etc.
[0013] Currently, there is no known existence of any waterproof protective cover for electric scooters that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal or similar to those described in this descriptive report, as claimed.
[0014] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] The object of the present invention is the creation of a waterproof protective cover for electric scooters that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characterizing details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.
[0016] The present invention consists of a waterproof protective cover for electric scooters, comprising covers made of waterproof materials that are removably attached to each other by means of adjustable fasteners. These covers are designed to be used while the scooter is in operation. They are designed to cover the deck and the stem of the electric scooter, offering protection against rain, impacts, and scratches, while leaving essential controls for operation (accelerator, brake, lights, handlebars, etc.) accessible. The covers include a deck cover and a stem cover, designed to protect the electric scooter. The deck cover allows the wheels to protrude from the cover for contact with the ground, and the stem cover allows access to the handlebars.
[0017] In addition, the cases preferably have a case for compact storage.
[0018] This invention efficiently solves the need to protect electric scooters from adverse weather conditions and physical damage, ensuring the integrity of their electronic components and maintaining their functionality at all times. By offering complete protection, it eliminates worries about rain, bumps, or scratches during use or storage.
[0019] Furthermore, this innovation is especially practical for those looking to keep their scooters in optimal condition, both during daily commutes and periods of inactivity.
[0020] Its design not only protects the vehicle, but also helps to extend its lifespan and reduces repair costs, offering a safer and more convenient user experience.
[0021] The preferred deck cover consists of a central section, which, when in use, rests under the deck or platform; two side panels that hug the base of the scooter to cover the user's foot surface; a front flap; and a rear flap. The front and rear flaps protect their respective edges, ensuring complete and secure coverage. These deck cover elements can be fastened together using adjustable closures to cover all visible parts of the deck or platform. It typically includes ventilation vents, usually mesh, in the central section or on the side panels to prevent overheating.
[0022] Additionally, the covers have a non-slip surface on the side covers, which rest on the support surface, ensuring the user's safety when placing their feet while using the vehicle.
[0023] The covers can be designed in different sizes and designs to fit various scooter models and the aesthetic preferences of users. They can have different colors, logos, and designs without affecting their functionality.
[0024] These covers preferably include reflective elements that improve visibility and safety.
[0025] The fastening methods, such as hook and loop straps, zippers, snaps, or cords, ensure a secure fit, while the compact case allows for convenient transport of the covers, for example, attached to the scooter with a carabiner or inside a bag. To use the covers, the user must place the base cover under the scooter, adjusting its various elements. Then, they position the stem cover and join them, securing them with the fastening methods.
[0026] Once fitted, these covers effectively protect against rain, bumps and scratches, while keeping essential controls accessible through strategically placed windows.
[0027] The waterproof and non-slip design ensures both the protection of the electronic components and the safety of the user during use, while the compact case makes it easy to transport and store when not in use.
