Abstract

Provided is an electronic device comprising: an information acquisition interface; a memory storing information on a past individual charge amount of each of a plurality of battery cells; and a processor, wherein the processor determines a current individual charge amount of each of the plurality of battery cells and a current average charge amount of the battery pack on the basis of information on a voltage of each of the plurality of battery cells obtained as a time interval elapses, calculates a polynomial using a first optimal solution set and the current average charge amount when the current average charge amount is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold charge amount, and determines that an abnormal phenomenon has occurred in the battery pack when a battery cell in which a difference between a result of calculating the polynomial and the current individual charge amount is greater than a predetermined threshold difference value exists among the plurality of battery cells.
