Abstract

Provided is an ironing system comprising an ironing board and a main body that rotatably supports the ironing board. The ironing system according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: an ironing board comprising a pressing surface for ironing clothes; a connection part rotatably coupled to the ironing board behind the pressing surface about a central axis perpendicular to the pressing surface; and a main body which has the lower surface thereof seated on the ground and to which the connection part is rotatably coupled such that the central axis can be positioned upright or horizontally, wherein the main body comprises a ground-contact part having the lower surface thereof seated on the ground, and a support part extending upward from the upper surface of the ground-contact part and forming the upper surface of the main body, and the shortest distance from the upper surface of the ground-contact part to the central axis is greater than the maximum rotation radius at the lower end of the ironing board in a stored state.

[0001] The present invention relates to an ironing system, and more specifically, to an ironing system comprising an ironing board and a main body that rotatably supports the ironing board.

[0002] Clothing made of specific materials, such as cotton or linen, develops significant wrinkles after washing or daily wear. To allow for repeated wear, these garments are ironed.

[0003] The most common method of ironing involves placing the garment on a blanket or ironing board on the floor and applying pressure to the garment while holding the iron. However, this method causes significant inconvenience as it forces the user to sit on the floor or crouch. Additionally, since the iron operates by receiving power, there was a limitation in that ironing had to be performed near a wall with an electrical outlet installed.

[0004] Recently, to address these issues, an ironing system has emerged that raises the ironing board for placing clothes to waist level, allowing the user to perform continuous ironing without straining their body.

[0005] Korean Patent Publication No. 2021-0004816 (hereinafter referred to as the "prior art") discloses an "ironing system," wherein the ironing system comprises an ironing board, a support member, and a grounding member.

[0006] The ironing board is equipped with a pressure surface capable of applying pressure to clothing. The ironing board is provided with a length greater than its width. Therefore, the user can place long clothing on the pressure surface and iron it.

[0007] The support member is provided beneath the ironing board to support it. The support member is provided with a height greater than its thickness or width. Therefore, the ironing board is set above an adult's waist height, allowing the user to perform ironing while standing. The grounding member is provided beneath the support member to support the load of the support member.

[0008] However, while the ironing system in the prior art discloses a configuration that allows for stable use, it has limitations in sufficiently improving convenience of use in that it does not consider a configuration that allows the user to easily change the position of the ironing board.

[0009] As described above, an ironing system for ironing clothes on an adjustable ironing board faces a challenge that needs to be addressed to allow the user to change the position of the ironing board more conveniently and easily.

[0010] However, conventional ironing systems have limitations in that they cannot adequately solve these problems.

[0011] The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned problems of an ironing system comprising an ironing board and a main body that rotatably supports the ironing board.
