[0037] In the present disclosure, the device acquiring information may include the information being (pre)set to the device, the information being received by the device from another entity, and the device generating the information.

[0038] Technical features described individually within one drawing in this disclosure may be implemented individually or simultaneously.

[0039] In the present disclosure, a higher layer parameter may be a parameter that is set for the terminal, pre-set, or pre-defined. For example, a base station or a network may transmit the higher layer parameter to the terminal. For example, the higher layer parameter may be transmitted via radio resource control (RRC) signaling or medium access control (MAC) signaling.

[0040] In the present disclosure, "configured or defined" may be interpreted as being configured or pre-configured to a device through pre-defined signaling from a base station or network (e.g., SIB, MAC, RRC, DCI (downlink control information), etc.). [0041] In the present disclosure, user equipment (UE) may refer to a device, a portable device, a wireless device, etc. In the present disclosure, a base station (BS) may refer to a radio access network (RAN) node, a non-terrestrial network (NTN) cell / node, a transmission reception point (TRP), a network, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, a device, a portable device, a wireless device, etc.

[0042] The technology proposed in this disclosure can be used in various wireless communication systems such as CDMA (code division multiple access), FDMA (frequency division multiple access), TDMA (time division multiple access), OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access), and SC-FDMA (single carrier frequency division multiple access). CDMA can be implemented with wireless technologies such as UTRA (universal terrestrial radio access) or CDMA2000. TDMA can be implemented with wireless technologies such as GSM (global system for mobile communications) / GPRS (general packet radio service) / EDGE (enhanced data rates for GSM evolution). OFDMA can be implemented with wireless technologies such as IEEE (institute of electrical and electronics engineers) 802.11 (Wi-Fi), IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX), IEEE 802-20, E-UTRA (evolved UTRA), LTE (long term evolution), and 5G NR.

[0043] The technology proposed in this disclosure can be implemented as 6G wireless technology and can be applied to various 6G systems. For example, 6G systems may have key factors such as eMBB (enhanced mobile broadband), URLLC (ultra-reliable low latency communications), mMTC (massive machine-type communication), AI (artificial intelligence) integrated communication, tactile internet, high throughput, high network capacity, high energy efficiency, low backhaul and access network congestion, and enhanced data security.

[0044] FIG. 1 illustrates a communication procedure between devices according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 1 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0045] Referring to FIG. 1, in step S101, the first device and the second device can perform synchronization. For example, the first device may be a terminal and / or at least one of the devices proposed in the present disclosure. For example, the second device may be a base station, a network, a RAN node, an NTN node / cell, a TRP, a terminal and / or at least one of the devices proposed in the present disclosure. For example, the first device may perform an initial cell search operation. For example, the first device may detect at least one synchronization signal transmitted according to a rule predefined by the second device. Here, for example, the synchronization signal may include a plurality of synchronization signals (e.g., primary synchronization signal, secondary synchronization signal, etc.) classified according to structure or use. Through this, the first device can identify the boundaries of the frame, subframe, time unit, slot, and / or symbol of the second device, and the first device can obtain information about the second device (e.g., cell identifier).

[0046] In step S103, the first device may obtain system information transmitted by the second device. For example, the system information may include information related to the attributes, characteristics, and / or capabilities of the second device that are necessary to connect to the second device and use the service. For example, the system information may be classified according to content (e.g., whether it is essential for connection), transmission structure (e.g., the channel used, whether it is provided on-demand), etc. For example, the system information may be classified into a master information block (MIB) and a system information block (SIB). For example, if necessary, the first device may transmit a signal requesting the system information prior to receiving the system information. For example, the request and provision of the system information may be performed after a random access procedure described later.

[0047] In step S105, the first device and the second device may perform a random access procedure. For example, the first device may transmit and / or receive at least one message for the random access procedure (e.g., random access preamble, random access response message, etc.) based on information related to the random access channel of the second device obtained through system information (e.g., channel location, channel structure, structure of supported preamble, etc.). For example, the first device may transmit a preamble (e.g., Msg1) through the random access channel, and the first device may receive a random access response message (e.g., Msg2). The first device may transmit a message (e.g., Msg3) containing information related to the first device (e.g., identification information) to the second device using scheduling information included in the random access response message, and the first device may receive a message (e.g., Msg4) for contention resolution and / or connection establishment. For example, Msg1 and Msg3 can be transmitted and received as a single message (e.g., MsgA), and / or Msg2 and Msg4 can be transmitted and received as a single message (e.g., MsgB).

[0048] In step S107, the first device and the second device may perform signaling of control information. Here, for example, the control information may be defined in various layers, such as a layer controlling the connection (e.g., a radio resource control (RRC) layer), a layer handling mapping between a logical channel and a transmission channel (e.g., a media access control (MAC) layer), and a layer handling a physical channel (e.g., a physical (PHY) layer). For example, the first device and the second device may perform at least one of signaling to establish a connection, signaling to determine settings related to communication, and / or signaling to indicate allocated resources. For example, the control information may be signaled / transmitted through a control channel. For example, the control information and / or the control channel may be used to schedule at least one of data, a data channel (e.g., a shared channel), and / or control information on the data channel.

[0049] In step S109, the first device and the second device may transmit and / or receive data. For example, the first device and the second device may process data based on signaling of control information and transmit and / or receive it. For example, when transmitting data, the first device or the second device may perform at least one of channel encoding, rate matching, scrambling, constellation mapping, layer mapping, waveform modulation, antenna mapping, and / or resource mapping on the information bits. For example, when receiving data, the first device or the second device may perform at least one of signal extraction from resources, antenna-specific waveform demodulation, signal placement considering layer mapping, constellation demapping, descrambling, and / or channel decoding.

[0050] For example, the layers of the radio interface protocol between the first device and the second device can be classified into L1 (layer 1), L2 (layer 2), L3 (layer 3), etc. For example, the physical layer belonging to layer 1 can provide an information transfer service using a physical channel, and the radio resource control (RRC) layer located at layer 3 can perform the role of controlling radio resources between the first device and the second device. To this end, for example, the RRC layer can exchange RRC messages between the first device and the second device.

[0051] FIG. 2 illustrates a radio protocol architecture according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 2 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, FIG. 2(a) may represent a radio protocol stack in the user plane for uplink communication or downlink communication, and FIG. 2(b) may represent a radio protocol stack in the control plane for uplink communication or downlink communication. For example, FIG. 2(c) may represent a radio protocol stack in the user plane for device-to-device communication, and FIG. 2(d) may represent a radio protocol stack in the control plane for device-to-device communication.

[0052] For example, the physical layer can provide information transmission services to upper layers using a physical channel. For example, the physical layer can be connected to the upper layer, the MAC (medium access control) layer, through a transport channel. For example, data can be transmitted between the MAC layer and the physical layer through a transport channel. For example, transport channels can be classified according to how and with what characteristics data is transmitted through a wireless interface. For example, data can be transmitted through a physical channel between different physical layers, for example, between the physical layers of a first device and a second device. For example, the physical channel can be modulated using the OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) method, and time and frequency can be utilized as wireless resources.

[0053] For example, the MAC layer can provide services to the upper layer, the RLC (radio link control) layer, through logical channels. For example, the MAC layer can provide mapping functions from multiple logical channels to multiple transmission channels. For example, the MAC layer can provide logical channel multiplexing functions through mapping from multiple logical channels to a single transmission channel. For example, the MAC sublayer can provide data transmission services over logical channels.

[0054] For example, the RLC layer can perform concatenation, segmentation, and reassembly of RLC service data units (SDUs). For example, to guarantee various quality of service (QoS) required by a radio bearer (RB), the RLC layer can provide three modes of operation: transparent mode (TM), unacknowledged mode (UM), and acknowledged mode (AM). For example, AM RLC can provide error correction through automatic repeat requests (ARQ).

[0055] For example, the RRC (radio resource control) layer may be defined only in the control plane. For example, the RRC layer may be responsible for controlling logical channels, transmission channels, and physical channels in relation to the configuration, reconfiguration, and release of radio bearers. For example, RB may refer to a logical path provided by the first layer (e.g., physical layer) and the second layer (e.g., MAC layer, RLC layer, PDCP (packet data convergence protocol) layer, SDAP (service data adaptation protocol) layer, etc.) for data transfer between a first device and a second device.

[0056] For example, the functions of the PDCP layer in the user plane may include the delivery of user data, header compression, and ciphering. For example, the functions of the PDCP layer in the control plane may include the delivery of control plane data and encryption / integrity protection.

[0057] For example, the establishment of an RB can mean the process of defining the characteristics of the wireless protocol layer and channel to provide specific services, and setting each specific parameter and method of operation. For example, an RB can be divided into two types: an SRB (signaling radio bearer) and a DRB (data radio bearer). For example, an SRB can be used as a channel to transmit RRC messages in the control plane, and a DRB can be used as a channel to transmit user data in the user plane.

[0058] For example, a base station-to-terminal transmission (e.g., DL transmission) channel may include at least one of a broadcast channel (BCH) that transmits system information and / or a downlink shared channel (SCH) that transmits user traffic or control messages. For example, traffic or control messages for a downlink multicast or broadcast service may be transmitted via a downlink SCH or via a separate downlink multicast channel (MCH). Meanwhile, an uplink transmission channel may include at least one of a random access channel (RACH) that transmits initial control messages and / or a shared channel (SCH) that transmits user traffic or control messages. For example, a logical channel located above the transmission channel and mapped to the transmission channel may include at least one of a broadcast control channel (BCCH), a paging control channel (PCCH), a common control channel (CCCH), a multicast control channel (MCCH), and / or a multicast traffic channel (MTCH).

[0059] FIG. 3 shows the structure of a wireless frame according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 3 can be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0060] Referring to FIG. 3, radio frames may be used, for example, in uplink transmission, base station-to-terminal transmission (e.g., DL transmission), and / or device-to-device transmission. For example, a radio frame may have a length of 10 ms and may be defined as two 5 ms half-frames (HF). For example, a half-frame may contain five 1 ms subframes (SF). For example, a subframe may be divided into one or more slots, and the number of slots within a subframe may be determined by subcarrier spacing (SCS). For example, each slot may contain 12 or 14 OFDM(A) symbols according to a cyclic prefix (CP).

[0061] For example, when normal CP is used, each slot may contain 14 symbols. For example, when extended CP is used, each slot may contain 12 symbols. Here, for example, the symbols may include OFDM symbols (or CP-OFDM symbols) and SC-FDMA (single carrier-FDMA) symbols (or DFT-s-OFDM (Discrete Fourier Transform-spread-OFDM) symbols).

[0062] Table 2 below shows the number of symbols per slot (N) according to the SCS setting (u) when Normal CP or Extended CP is used. slot symb ), number of slots per frame (N frame,u slot ) and the number of slots per subframe (N subframe,u slot ) exemplifies.

[0063] CP Type SCS (15*2 u )N slot symb N frame,u slot N subframe,u slot Normal CP 15kHz (u=0) 1410 130kHz (u=1) 1420 260kHz (u=2) 1440 4120kHz (u=3) 1480 8240kHz (u=4) 14160 16 Extended CP 60kHz (u=2) 1240 4

[0064] For example, OFDM(A) numerology (e.g., SCS, CP length, etc.) may be configured differently among multiple cells merged into a single terminal. Accordingly, the (absolute time) interval of a time resource (e.g., subframe, slot, or TTI (transmit time interval)) composed of the same number of symbols may be configured differently among the merged cells. For example, in the present disclosure, time resources such as subframes, slots, TTI, etc. may be referred to as time units.

[0065] For example, multiple numerologies or SCSs may be supported to support various services. For example, if the SCS is 15 kHz, a wide area in traditional cellular bands may be supported, and if the SCS is 30 kHz / 60 kHz, dense-urban, lower latency, and wider carrier bandwidth may be supported. For example, if the SCS is 60 kHz or higher, a bandwidth greater than 24.25 GHz may be supported to overcome phase noise.

[0066] FIG. 4 shows a slot structure of a frame according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 4 can be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0067] Referring to FIG. 4, for example, a slot may include multiple symbols in the time domain. For example, a carrier may include multiple subcarriers in the frequency domain. For example, a resource block (RB) may be defined as multiple consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain. For example, a bandwidth part (BWP) may be defined as multiple consecutive (P)RBs ((physical) resource blocks) in the frequency domain and may correspond to a single numerology (e.g., SCS, CP length, etc.). For example, a carrier may include up to N BWPs (where N is a positive integer). For example, data communication may be performed through an active BWP. For example, each element may be referred to as a resource element (RE) in a resource grid and may be mapped to a single complex symbol.

[0068] For example, a BWP can be a continuous set of PRBs in a given numerology. For example, a PRB can be selected from a continuous subset of common resource blocks (CRBs) for a given numerology on a given carrier.

[0069] For example, the BWP may be at least one of an active BWP, an initial BWP, and / or a default BWP. For example, the terminal may not monitor downlink radio link quality on DL BWPs other than the active DL BWP on the PCell (primary cell). For example, the terminal may not receive PDCCH (physical downlink control channel), PDSCH (physical downlink shared channel), or CSI-RS (channel state information-reference signal) (except for RRM (radio resource management)) outside of the active DL BWP. For example, the terminal may not trigger CSI (channel state information) reporting for an inactive DL BWP. For example, the terminal may not transmit PUCCH (physical uplink control channel) or PUSCH (physical uplink shared channel) outside of the active UL (uplink) BWP. For example, for the downlink, the initial BWP can be given as a consecutive set of resource blocks (RBs) for the remaining minimum system information (RMSI) CORESET (control resource set) (set by the physical broadcast channel (PBCH)). For example, for the uplink, the initial BWP can be given by the system information block (SIB) for the random access procedure. For example, the default BWP can be set by the upper layer. For example, the initial value of the default BWP can be the initial DL BWP.For energy saving, if the terminal fails to detect DCI (downlink control information) for a certain period, the terminal can switch the active BWP of the terminal to the default BWP.

[0070] In the present disclosure, PSCCH may be replaced with a control channel, a physical control channel, a control channel associated with a sidelink, a physical control channel associated with a sidelink, a physical control channel between devices, etc. In the present disclosure, PSSCH may be replaced with a shared channel, a physical shared channel, a shared channel associated with a sidelink, a physical shared channel associated with a sidelink, a physical shared channel between devices, etc. For example, SL communication may be replaced with device-to-device communication. For example, in terms referring to various channels and / or signals associated with SL communication, the SL portion may be replaced with "between devices".

[0073] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of a BWP according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 5 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure. In the embodiment of FIG. 5, it is assumed that there are three BWPs.

[0074] Referring to FIG. 5, for example, a common resource block (CRB) may be a numbered carrier resource block from one end of the carrier band to the other, and a PRB may be a numbered resource block within each BWP. For example, point A may indicate a common reference point for the resource block grid.

[0075] For example, BWP is point A, offset from point A (N start BWP ) and bandwidth (N size BWPIt can be set by ). For example, point A may be an external reference point of the PRB of a carrier where the subcarrier 0 of all numerologies (e.g., all numerologies supported by the network in that carrier) are aligned. For example, offset may be the PRB interval between the lowest subcarrier in a given numerology and point A. For example, bandwidth may be the number of PRBs in a given numerology.

[0076] FIG. 6 illustrates a communication structure that can be provided in a 6G system according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 6 can be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0077] As core implementation technologies for 6G systems, technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), THz (Terahertz) communication, optical wireless technology, free space optical transmission (FSO) backhaul networks, large-scale MIMO (multiple input multiple output) technology, blockchain, 3D networking, quantum communication, unmanned aerial vehicles, cell-free communication, wireless information and energy transfer (WIET), integration of sensing and communication, integration of access backhaul networks, holographic beamforming, big data analysis, and large intelligent surface (LIS) can be adopted.

[0078] - Artificial Intelligence: Introducing AI into communications can streamline and enhance real-time data transmission. AI can determine how complex target tasks are performed using numerous analyses. For example, AI can increase efficiency and reduce processing latency. Time-consuming tasks such as handover, network selection, and resource scheduling can be performed instantly using AI. AI can also play a significant role in M2M, machine-to-human, and human-to-machine communication. Furthermore, AI can enable rapid communication in Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). AI-based communication systems can be supported by metamaterials, intelligent structures, intelligent networks, intelligent devices, intelligent cognitive radios, self-sustaining wireless networks, and machine learning.

[0079] - THz Communication: Data transmission rates can be increased by expanding bandwidth. This can be achieved by using sub-THz communication with wide bandwidth and applying advanced large-scale MIMO technology. THz waves, also known as sub-millimeter radiation, generally refer to a frequency band between 0.1 THz and 10 THz with corresponding wavelengths ranging from 0.03 mm to 3 mm. The 100 GHz-300 GHz band range (Sub-THz band) is considered the primary portion of the THz band for cellular communication. Adding the Sub-THz band to the mmWave band increases 6G cellular communication capacity. Among the defined THz bands, the 300 GHz-3 THz band is located in the far-infrared (IR) frequency band. Although the 300 GHz-3 THz band is part of the optical band, it lies at the boundary of the optical band and immediately following the RF band. Therefore, this 300 GHz-3 THz band exhibits similarities to RF. Key characteristics of THz communication include (i) widely available bandwidth to support very high data transmission rates, and (ii) high path loss occurring at high frequencies (highly directional antennas are indispensable). The narrow beam width generated by highly directional antennas reduces interference. The small wavelength of THz signals allows a much larger number of antenna elements to be integrated into devices and BSs operating in this band. This enables the use of advanced adaptive array technologies that can overcome range limitations.

[0093] - Advanced Air Mobility (AAM): AAM can be a broad concept encompassing Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Regional Air Mobility (RAM), and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS). For example, AAM may include UAM, RAM, UAS, and UAVs (uncrewed aerial vehicles).

[0094] - Autonomous driving (self-driving): V2X (vehicle to everything), a core element of building autonomous driving infrastructure, refers to technologies that enable vehicles to communicate and share with various elements on the road to perform autonomous driving, such as wireless communication between vehicles (vehicle to vehicle, V2V) and between vehicles and infrastructure (vehicle to infrastructure, V2I).

[0095] - Non-terrestrial Network (NTN): An NTN may refer to a network or network segment that utilizes RF (radio frequency) resources mounted on a satellite (or UAS platform). The use of NTN services may be considered to secure wider coverage or to provide wireless communication services in locations where the installation of wireless communication base stations is difficult.

[0096] - Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC): Wireless sensing is a technology that uses radio frequencies to determine the instantaneous linear velocity, angle, distance (range), etc., of an object, thereby obtaining information about the characteristics of the environment and / or objects within the environment.

[0097] - Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS): An RIS can be used to manipulate and enhance signal propagation in a wireless communication environment. For example, an RIS can be composed of many small antennas or metasurfaces arranged on a surface, each of which can actively control the phase, amplitude, polarization, etc., of the reflected signal. For instance, an RIS can improve signal reception by controlling the path, phase, and / or strength of the propagating signal. For instance, power consumption can be very low because power is consumed only for controlling the phase and amplitude of the small antennas. For instance, since an RIS can be reconfigured to suit various environments, it can meet diverse communication requirements and operate effectively in dynamic network environments.

[0098] FIG. 7 illustrates an example of a communication scenario based on a 6G system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 7 can be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0099] Referring to FIG. 7, NTN communication can be performed based on a satellite network, HIBS (high-altitude platform stations (HAPS) as international mobile telecommunications (IMT) base stations (BS)), and an aeronautical communication-capable terminal (e.g., AAM). For example, to improve coverage, devices such as a satellite network, HIBS, and an aeronautical communication-capable terminal (e.g., AAM) can act as relays. For example, an AAM can communicate with a base station, a satellite network, etc., and / or an AAM can communicate directly with a terminal, another AAM, etc.

[0100] Transmitting system information (e.g., MIB) in the THz frequency band can be inefficient because, in the case of high frequency bands, beam sweeping must be performed more frequently to cover the entire area of the cell as the beam width becomes narrow. In particular, transmitting system information in this manner can be even more inefficient when there are not many users in the cell. Accordingly, a system information transmission procedure as shown in FIG. 8 below may be used.

[0101] FIG. 8 illustrates a procedure for transmitting system information for THz communication according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 8 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0102] The embodiment of FIG. 8 was created considering a THz situation, but it is also applicable in a 6G communication environment where THz is not applied. In addition, the procedure illustrated in FIG. 8 can be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure described below. For example, the embodiments described below can be performed based on system information obtained by the procedure illustrated in FIG. 8.

[0103] Referring to FIG. 8, in step S801, the base station (80) can transmit system information of cell #1 through cell #2. For example, the base station (820) provides at least two cells, where cell #1 uses a THz frequency band and cell #2 uses a frequency band other than the THz frequency band. Here, the system information may include at least one of SFN, PDCCH configuration for SIB1, cell barring, cell re-selection, and subcarrier spacing generated at the higher layer, and at least one of SFN, half frame indicator, and SSB index generated at the physical layer. To this end, for example, cell #1 and cell #2 may have a secondary cell and primary cell relationship.

[0104] In step S803, the terminal (810) can obtain synchronization for cell #1. Synchronization can be obtained by detecting a synchronization signal. Generally, synchronization is obtained prior to receiving system information, but since the system information of cell #1 is received in cell #2, synchronization for cell #1 can be obtained after receiving system information. For example, the terminal (810) can obtain synchronization based on system information. However, unlike FIG. 8, according to another example, synchronization acquisition can be performed prior to step S801.

[0105] In step S805, the terminal (810) may transmit a signal to connect to cell #1. For example, the signal may include a random access preamble. The structure of the signal and the resource (e.g., channel) for transmitting the signal may be identified through system information. Subsequently, in step S807, the terminal (810) and the base station (820) may perform a connection procedure to cell #1 and perform communication. In this step, operations according to various embodiments described below may be performed.

[0106] The procedure described with reference to FIG. 8 may be performed when the terminal (801) first connects to cell #1 of the base station (820). Alternatively, a similar procedure may be performed when the terminal (801) handovers to cell #1 of the base station (820). However, in the case of a handover, the system information of cell #1 may be received from a cell of a different base station other than cell #2 of the base station (820).

[0107] The low-power wake-up signal / receiver is described below.

[0108] 5G systems have been designed and developed for both mobile telephony and vertical use cases. In 5G, in addition to latency, reliability, and availability, device energy efficiency can also be critical. Currently, 5G devices may need to be recharged on a weekly or daily basis, depending on an individual's usage time. Typically, 5G devices can consume tens of milliwatts in RRC idle / inactive states and hundreds of milliwatts when RRC connected. Designs that extend battery life can be essential for improving energy efficiency and enhancing the user experience.

[0109] Energy efficiency can be even more critical for devices without a continuous energy source, such as those using small rechargeable and single coin cell batteries. In vertical use cases, sensors and actuators can be widely used for monitoring, measurement, charging, etc. Generally, these batteries cannot be recharged and can be expected to last for at least several years, as described in the technical literature. Wearable devices may include smartwatches, rings, e-health devices, and medical monitoring devices. With typical battery capacities, it may be difficult to last up to 1 to 2 weeks as needed.

[0110] Power consumption may vary depending on the length of the configured weather period, such as the phasing cycle. To meet the battery life requirements mentioned above, a large value of extended discontinuous reception (e.g., eDRX) cycles is used, which is expected to result in longer latency; this may not be suitable for services requiring both long battery life and short latency. For example, in fire detection and extinguishing use cases, fire shutters must close and sprinklers activated by actuators must be activated within 1 to 2 seconds after a fire is detected by a sensor; however, long extended discontinuous reception (e.g., eDRX) cycles cannot meet the latency requirements, so extended discontinuous reception (e.g., eDRX) may not be suitable for use cases where latency is critical.

[0111] Currently, since the terminal must wake up periodically during discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycles, power consumption during periods without signal or data traffic may account for the majority of power consumption. Power consumption could be drastically reduced if the terminal could wake up only when triggered, such as during paging. This can be achieved by using a separate receiver capable of triggering the main radio with a wake-up signal and monitoring the wake-up signal with ultra-low power consumption. The main radio operates for data transmission and reception and can be turned off or set to hibernation mode when not powered on.

[0112] The terms that may be used in this document are as follows.

[0113] - Main Radio (MR): A transmit / receive module operating for NR signals / channels, excluding signals / channels related to low-power weather.

[0114] - Low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR(LR)): A receiving module that operates to receive / process signals / channels related to low-power weather.

[0115] The following use cases can be considered for low-power weather signals / weather radios (e.g., LP-WUS / WUR):

[0116] - IoT use cases including industrial wireless sensors, controllers, actuators, etc.

[0117] - Examples of wearable devices such as smartwatches, rings, e-health related devices, and medical monitoring devices,

[0118] - eMBB examples including XR / smart glasses, smartphones, etc.

[0119] The following describes technology related to low-power weather signals / weather radios (e.g., LP-WUS / WUR).

[0120] The following investigations can be conducted regarding research on low-power weather signals and receivers for NR.

[0121] - Low-power weather signals and receivers including power saving effects, coverage, system overhead impact, network energy impact, and other related aspects

[0122] - Provision of analysis on receiver architecture, power consumption, noise levels, etc. for low-power weather receivers

[0123] - L1 design and procedure changes required to support low-power weather signal and link performance evaluation

[0124] - Changes to the upper-layer protocols required to support low-power weather signals

[0125] - Related upper-level influence

[0126] It was observed that in RRC idle / active mode, when sufficient relaxation is applied to the main radio (e.g., MR) RRM measurement, significant terminal power saving gains (up to 90% or more) can be obtained by triggering terminal main radio (e.g., MR) paging monitoring using a low-power wake signal / wake radio (e.g., LP-WUS / WUR) compared to the existing idle mode discontinuous reception (e.g., I-DRX) operation (with and without paging early indication (e.g., PEI). Additionally, compared to the existing extended discontinuous reception (e.g., extended DRX; eDRX) operation, if the low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring and the corresponding paging monitoring after the main radio (e.g., MR) wake are performed without restriction within the paging time window (e.g., PTW) of the existing extended discontinuous reception (e.g., eDRX), significant reduction in paging latency and moderate terminal power saving gains are observed.

[0127] In RRC connection mode, it was observed that, compared to existing terminal power saving techniques, moderate terminal power saving gains (up to 10% or more) with minimal capacity impact can be obtained by triggering monitoring of the terminal's main radio (e.g., MR) base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) using low-power wake signal / wake radio (e.g., LP-WUS / WUR) in various types of XR traffic and system load scenarios. Additionally, it was observed that significant terminal power saving gains (up to 60% or more) and moderate UPT improvements (up to 10% or more) can be obtained for FTP and IM traffic when the terminal main radio (e.g., MR) is switched to a maximum sleep state during NR low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring. Furthermore, in recent research, the feasibility of providing cell RRM measurement offloading from the terminal's main radio (e.g., MR) to the low-power wake receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) has been verified through reasonable evaluation methodologies. In addition, several issues were identified at the upper level that could be further discussed at the WI stage.

[0128] Below, the paging procedure for idle / inactive states in 5G NR is described.

[0129] In 5G NR, if a terminal does not have data transmissions / receptions in progress, the terminal may enter RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE mode to save power. When base station-to-terminal data (e.g., DL data) for the terminal arrives at the network, the network may send a paging message at a paging occasion (PO) to trigger an RRC setup procedure, an RRC Connection Resume procedure, etc. A paging occasion (e.g., PO) is a set of monitoring times for a physical downlink control channel (e.g., PDCCH) and may consist of multiple time slots (e.g., subframes or OFDM symbols), and at a paging occasion (e.g., PO), base station-to-terminal control information (e.g., downlink control information; DCI) having a CRC scrambled with P-RNTI may be transmitted. For example, the following information may be transmitted by a base station-to-terminal control information (e.g., DCI) format (e.g., DCI format 1_0) having a CRC scrambled with P-RNTI:

[0130] - Short Messages Indicator according to Table 3

[0134] - VRB-to-PRB mapping according to Table 5

[0142] In the present disclosure, a base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) carrying a base station-to-terminal control information (e.g., DCI) format having a CRC scrambled with P-RNTI is referred to as a paging base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH), and a base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., physical downlink shared channel; PDSCH) scheduled by the paging base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) is referred to as a paging base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., PDSCH). A terminal can decode the paging base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., PDSCH) based on scheduling information (e.g., frequency domain resource allocation, modulation and coding scheme, etc.) within the paging base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH). A paging base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., PDSCH) carries paging messages, which are used for notification to one or more terminals and may include one or more terminal identifiers (IDs). For example, the paging message and / or fields within the paging message may include information related to a paging record list, lateNonCriticalExtension, nonCriticalExtension, paging group list, terminal identifier associated with the paging record, access type associated with the paging record, paging cause associated with the paging record, TMSI associated with the paging terminal identifier, RNTI associated with the paging terminal identifier, etc.

[0143] The following table provides examples of paging messages and descriptions of the fields within them.

[0144] Description of Paging Record Fields Access Type (accessType) Indicates whether the paging message was generated by a PDU session from a non-3GPP access. Paging Record List (pagingRecordList) If the network contains pagingRecordList-v1700, it contains the same number of entries and is listed in the same order as pagingRecordList (e.g., without suffixes). Paging Cause Indicates whether the paging message was generated by IMS Voice. If this field is present, it may mean that the paging entry is for IMS Voice. If the upper layer supports paging cause and this field is absent but pagingRecordList-v1700 exists, it may mean that the paging entry is for a service other than IMS Voice. Otherwise, the paging cause may not be determined.

[0145] For example, in multi-beam operations, the terminal may assume that the same paging message is repeated in all transmitted beams. The paging message may be the same for both radio access network (RAN) initiation paging and core network (CN) initiation paging.

[0146] A paging frame (PF) is a radio frame and may include one or more paging times (e.g., PO)(s) or a starting point of a paging time (e.g., PO).

[0147] For example, the terminal can monitor one paging time (e.g., PO) per discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycle. The paging frame (e.g., PF) and paging time (e.g., PO) for paging can be determined by predefined formulas.

[0148] For example, in some implementations, the system frame number (SFN) for a paging frame (e.g., PF) may be determined by (SFN + PF_offset) mod T = (T div N) * (UE_ID mod N), and an index i_s indicating the index of a paging time (e.g., PO) may be determined by i_s = floor(UE_ID) mod Ns, where T is a terminal discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycle and is determined by the minimum value of terminal-specific discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) value(s) and / or default discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) value broadcast as system information, N is the total number of paging frames in T, Ns is the number of paging times for a paging frame (e.g., PF), PF_offset is the offset used for determining the paging frame (e.g., PF), and UE_ID may be a value determined based on 5G-S-TMSI.

[0149] For example, parameters Ns regarding the number of paging times per paging frame, parameters nAndPagingFrameOffset used to derive the total number of paging frames in T, parameters nrofPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionsPerSSB-InPO regarding the number of base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring times corresponding to SSBs in paging times, and the length of the default discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycle may be signaled by SIB1, and the values of N and PF_offset may be derived from the parameters nAndPagingFrameOffset.

[0150] For example, base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring times for paging can be determined based on the parameter firstPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionOfPO, which indicates the first base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring time for paging of each paging time (e.g., PO) of a paging frame (e.g., PF), and the parameter nrofPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionsPerSSB-InPO.

[0151] For example, the parameter firstPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionOfPO may be signaled by SIB1 for paging in the initial base station-to-terminal communication (e.g., DL link) part bandwidth (e.g., bandwidth part; BWP), and may be signaled by the corresponding part bandwidth (e.g., BWP) setting for paging in a base station-to-terminal part bandwidth (e.g., DL BWP) other than the initial base station-to-terminal communication (e.g., DL link) part bandwidth (e.g., BWP).

[0152] For example, to reduce power consumption, a terminal may use Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) in the RRC_IDLE and RRC_INACTIVE states. If a Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) setting is provided in the system information, a terminal in the RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE state that supports Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) may monitor Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) using the Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) parameters within the system information. The terminal monitors one Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) per discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycle. A Paging Early Indication occurrence (e.g., PEI-occasion; PEI-O) is a set of base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring occurrences and may consist of multiple time slots (e.g., subframes or OFDM symbols) in which the Paging Early Indication (e.g., PEI) can be sent.

[0153] For example, in multi-beam operations, the terminal may assume that the same paging early indication (e.g., PEI) is repeated in all transmitted beams. The time position of the paging early indication time (e.g., PEI-O) relative to the terminal's paging time (e.g., PO) may be determined by a reference point and an offset, said reference point being the start of a reference frame determined by a frame-level offset from the start of the first paging frame (e.g., PF)(s) associated with said paging early indication time (e.g., PEI-O), provided by pei-FrameOffset in SIB1, and said offset being a symbol-level offset from said reference point to the start of the first base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring time of said paging early indication time (e.g., PEI-O), provided by firstPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionOfPEI-O in SIB1.

[0154] For example, if a single paging early indication time (e.g., PEI-O) is associated with the paging times (e.g., PO) of two paging frames (e.g., PF), said two paging frames (e.g., PF) may be consecutive paging frames (e.g., PF) calculated by the parameters PF_offset, T, Ns, and N. For more details regarding paging early indications (e.g., PEI), refer to the technical literature.

[0155] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a paging discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) may be defined in which a terminal that is RRC_IDLE or RRC_INACTIVE is required to monitor paging channels for only one paging time (e.g., PO) per discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycle. For example, the following paging discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycles may be set by a network:

[0156] i) For core network initiated paging (CN-initiated paging), a default cycle is broadcast with system information, and

[0157] ii) For CN-initial paging, terminal-specific cycles can be established via non-access stratum (NAS) signaling, and

[0158] iii) For radio access network (RAN)-initiated paging, terminal-specific cycles can be established via RRC signaling.

[0159] For example, a terminal may use the shortest of the applicable discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycles. For example, a terminal that is RRC_IDLE may use the shorter of the first two discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycles among the three discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycles, and a terminal that is RRC_INACTIVE may use the shortest of the three discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) cycles.

[0160] The operation sequence of the terminal and the signaling operation between the base station and the terminal are described below.

[0161] FIG. 9 illustrates a flowchart of the operation of a terminal performing one or more physical channels / signal transmissions to which the method proposed in the present disclosure may be applied, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 9 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0162] Referring to FIG. 9(a), a flowchart is shown of a terminal performing terminal-to-base station data transmission. For example, the terminal may receive terminal-to-base station data / channel related information. Subsequently, the terminal may receive base station-to-terminal control information for terminal-to-base station data transmission, or receive information for terminal-to-base station channel transmission. Subsequently, for example, the terminal may transmit terminal-to-base station data / channel.

[0163] At this point, for example, the terminal can check whether all the instructed data / channels have been transmitted, and if not all have been transmitted, it can perform terminal-to-base station data / channel transmission (again and / or additionally). If all have been transmitted, the above procedure may be terminated.

[0164] Referring to FIG. 9(b), a flowchart is shown of a terminal performing base station-to-terminal data reception. For example, the terminal may receive information related to base station-to-terminal data / channel. Subsequently, the terminal may receive base station-to-terminal control information for base station-to-terminal data reception, or receive information for base station-to-terminal channel reception. Subsequently, for example, the terminal may receive base station-to-terminal data / channel.

[0165] At this time, for example, the terminal can check whether all the instructed data / channels have been received, and if not all have been received, it can perform base station-to-terminal data / channel reception (again and / or additionally).

For example, in an NR system, four quasi-co-location (e.g., QCL) types are defined as follows: 'typeA': {Doppler shift, Doppler spread, average delay, delay spread}, 'typeB': {Doppler shift, Doppler spread}, 'typeC': {Doppler shift, average delay}, 'typeD': {spatial Rx parameters}. For example, for a specific base station-to-terminal reference signal antenna port(s), a first base station-to-terminal reference signal (e.g., DL RS) may be set as a reference to a similar identical location (e.g., QCL) type X (X=A, B, C, or D), and additionally, a second base station-to-terminal reference signal (e.g., DL RS) may be set as a reference to a similar identical location (e.g., QCL) type Y (Y=A, B, C, or D, but X).

A TCI state includes a pseudo-identical position (e.g., QCL) relationship between one or more base station-to-terminal reference signals (e.g., DL RS) with the decoding reference signal (e.g., DM-RS) port of a base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., PDSCH), the decoding reference signal (e.g., DM-RS) port of a base station-to-terminal physical control channel (e.g., PDCCH), or the channel state information reference signal (e.g., CSI-RS) port(s) of a channel state information reference signal (e.g., CSI-RS) resource. For transmission setting indicators among the fields in base station-to-terminal control information (e.g., DCI) that schedule a base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., PDSCH), the transmission setting indicator (e.g., TCI) state index corresponding to each code point constituting the field is activated by MAC CE, and the transmission setting indicator (e.g., TCI) state setting for each transmission setting indicator (e.g., TCI) state index can be set through RRC signaling. For example, examples of terminal-to-base station reference signals (e.g., UL RS) may include sounding reference signals (e.g., SRS), terminal-to-base station physical shared channel (e.g., PUSCH) decoding reference signals (e.g., DM-RS), terminal-to-base station physical control channel (e.g., PUCCH) decoding reference signals (e.g., DM-RS).

When transmitting a terminal-to-base station physical shared channel (e.g., PUSCH), the terminal may transmit the terminal-to-base station physical shared channel (e.g., PUSCH) by utilizing the same spatial domain transmission filter used for reference signal transmission and reception associated with the corresponding sounding reference signal (e.g., SRS) resource. At this time, for each sounding reference signal (e.g., SRS) resource, the reference signal (e.g., RS) is set by RRC signaling through the SRS-SpatialRelationInfo parameter, and a synchronization signal / physical broadcasting channel (e.g., SS / PBCH) block, channel status reference signal (e.g., CSI-RS), or sounding reference signal (e.g., SRS) can be set as the reference signal (e.g., RS).

[0273] LO(LP-WUS occasion): Low-power weather signal opportunity. For example, it may consist of one or more LP-WUS monitoring opportunities.

[0274] LMO: LP-WUS Monitoring Opportunity

[0275] The present disclosure describes a method for improving reception performance of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) and low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS). In particular, a technique for securing reception performance by configuring a plurality of monitoring opportunities (e.g., MO) within a low-power wake signal opportunity (e.g., LO) / low-power synchronization signal opportunity (e.g., LP-SS) is described.

[0276] For example, improving the reception performance of low-power wake-up signals (e.g., LP-WUS) / low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) and efficient mapping with the synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) beam can be important factors in reducing power consumption of the system. For low-power wake-up signals (e.g., LP-WUS), reliable transmission is required while minimizing false alarms, and for low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS), effective beam mapping with the synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) may be essential.

[0277] For example, reception utilizing multiple beams can significantly improve the reception performance of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS). In such cases, the beam selection method can have a significant impact on reception performance and energy efficiency. Accordingly, the present disclosure proposes a method to improve reception performance and energy efficiency by selecting only beams above a specific threshold value or by combining N optimal beams. Through this, low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) and low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) are transmitted repeatedly, and reception performance and coverage are improved through efficient beam mapping with synchronization signal blocks (e.g., SSB), and the overall power consumption of the system can be reduced.

[0278] The present disclosure covers beam selection and combination optimization methods to improve the reception performance and energy efficiency of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS). In particular, methods to maximize reception performance are presented by selecting only beams above a specific threshold value or by combining N optimal beams. Through this, the reception performance of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) and energy efficiency can be improved. Additionally, by considering the setting of threshold values per beam, entry conditions are established for cases where only some beams are used, and a method is proposed to select the best N beams as the combination target. A method of entry based on a pre-measured low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) by utilizing the main radio (e.g., MR) is also considered.

[0279] In the following disclosure, examples are provided based on an NR system to explain the principles of the disclosure, but the proposed methods are not limited to a specific transmission and reception form of NR unless otherwise stated.

[0280] In addition, the present disclosure below explains the principles of disclosure by providing examples based on the characteristics and structure of a terminal for discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX), but the proposed methods are not limited to supporting terminals for discontinuous reception (e.g., DRX) unless otherwise stated.

[0281] Therefore, it is obvious that the methods proposed in this disclosure can be applied to all wireless communication transmission and reception structures and services without further explanation, provided that the principles of the disclosure are not compromised.

[0282] In the following description, the distinction between each method or option is intended to clarify the explanation and is not to be interpreted restrictively as meaning that each must necessarily be implemented as an independent disclosure. For example, while the methods / options described below may each be implemented individually, they may also be implemented in a combined form in which at least some parts are combined, provided that they do not conflict with one another.

[0283] According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, the timing of reception of a low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) may be determined based on system information transmitted by a base station or separately described in each of the proposed methods below. For example, if the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) can be received as 1-bit information in a single unit (e.g., 1 slot or 1 symbol) through on / off keying, the offset value and period on the system frame may simply be set. If, for reliability, decoded information is received through multiple on / off keyings or 2 or more bit information is received, the time interval during which the terminal receives the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) and the terminal ID for the low-power wake-up signal receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) for verification after receiving the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) may be determined based on this, similar to a paging early indication (e.g., PEI). For example, in this case, the terminal ID used for conventional paging reception may be reused.

[0284] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a method may be considered in which a terminal derives the reception location of a low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) through a terminal ID given to the terminal for receiving a low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS). For example, the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) is repeated at short intervals, and the base station may provide the terminal with the number of low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) subgroup parameters. This refers to the number of low-power wake-up signal monitoring periods (e.g., LP-WUS MO) required for one terminal subgroup, in other words, the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) for one terminal subgroup may be repeated for each corresponding low-power wake-up signal monitoring period (e.g., LP-WUS MO).

[0285] For example, a terminal can distinguish the low-power wake-up signal monitoring time (e.g., LP-WUS MO) to be monitored among the monitoring times (e.g., MO) equal to the number of low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) subgroups through a terminal ID given to it. In addition, for example, if K (K>2) bits of information are received through the monitoring of the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS), the reception of the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) can also be distinguished through the terminal ID.

[0286] In the present disclosure, a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO) may be a concept comprising one or more low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO). In other words, one low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) may be replaced by one low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO), or a group of low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO) consisting of one or more low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO) may be replaced by a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO).

[0287] This may be useful for improving reception performance by associating each low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) within a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO) with a beam or reference signal given or predefined from a base station, and ensuring that the same information is always transmitted from the low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) within the low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO), so that the terminal receives by selecting the best low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) from the reference signal, or by combining the signals received from each low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO).

[0288] For example, the number of low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO) within a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO) can be directly set through messages such as a system information block (e.g., SIB) from the base station.

[0289] Alternatively, it may be derived from, for example, the number of transmissions per period of a reference signal, etc., that may be associated with each low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) (e.g., the number of transmissions of the reference signal per period of a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO). e.g., the number of transmissions of the reference signal between adjacent low-power weather signal opportunities (e.g., LO).

[0290] For example, if the transmission of a reference signal is configured to occur K times between adjacent low-power weather signal opportunities (e.g., LO), the terminal can expect K transmissions of low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO) within the low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO).

[0291] Alternatively, for example, without an explicit association, the terminal may simply assume that each low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) is a separate transmission. In a series of operations, the terminal may assume that the same information is provided to the low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) within the low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO).

[0292] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure [Proposal #1], a method for receiving a low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) and a low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) using multiple beams may be provided.

[0293] For example, the reception performance of a low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) can be improved by combining signals received through multiple low-power wake signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO) within a low-power wake signal opportunity (e.g., LO). The terminal can measure the channel quality of each beam through the reception of a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) / low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) and, based on this, select a beam to be used for receiving the low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS). For example, beam selection may consider a method of selecting beams above a specific threshold value (e.g., low-power reference signal reception power (e.g., LP-RSRP), low-power reference signal reception quality (e.g., LP-RSRQ)) and a Best-N method of selecting the top N beams with the best measured channel quality.

[0294] For example, as a method for combining selected beams, it may be possible to receive and combine transmitted low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) by applying different redundancy versions for each beam, and to improve performance by combining the received signals when the same low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) information is repeatedly transmitted in each beam.

[0295] Specifically, a procedure may be performed to measure the signal quality of a low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) received from each selected beam, combine them by applying weights based on the measured signal quality, and then decode the final low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) information based on the combined signal.

[0296] For example, to simplify terminal implementation, a method of pre-filtering low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) reception beams by utilizing synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) beam information may be considered. For example, beam selection may include a method of selecting beams above a specific threshold value (e.g., low-power reference signal reception power (e.g., LP-RSRP), low-power reference signal reception quality (e.g., LP-RSRQ)) as low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) reception beams, and a Best-N method of selecting the top N beams with the best measured channel quality as low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) reception beams.

[0297] In addition, the base station can efficiently manage beams by explicitly specifying a list of candidates for low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) receiving beams in a manner similar to a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) bitmap, or through a one-to-one mapping between the synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) beams and the low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams. This is further explained in Proposal #3 below.

[0298] For such beam selection and combination, the base station may set parameters such as a threshold for beam selection, the value of N when selecting the best-N beams, redundancy version information for each beam, and a list of low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beam candidates, and signal these to the terminal. This signaling may be transmitted via system information or dedicated radio resource control (e.g., RRC) signaling, through which the terminal can perform efficient reception of low-power wake-up signals (e.g., LP-WUS) / low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS).

[0299] For example, the terminal operation described in Proposal #1 may be limited to terminals that have entered via the multi-beam based threshold in Proposal #2. Alternatively, for example, the terminal may decide whether to use Proposal #1 only when both the single-beam based threshold and the multi-beam based threshold are satisfied simultaneously.

[0300] FIG. 12 illustrates a method for determining whether to perform multi-beam based low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 12 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure, and the description, function, procedure, proposal, method, and / or operation of the method may be omitted.

[0301] Referring to FIG. 12, X signals transmitted based on each of beams #1 to #X are shown. For example, the X signals may be received by a terminal. For example, the X signals may be X low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) transmissions included in a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO).

[0302] For example, the terminal can measure the quality of X signals transmitted based on each of the beams #1 to #X. For example, according to a threshold value according to existing technology, the measured value of each of the X signals may be lower than the threshold value, so all beams may be determined to be beams unsuitable for reception.

[0303] On the other hand, the multi-beam related threshold value provided according to various embodiments of the present disclosure may be set lower than the threshold value according to the prior art, and this may be for performing low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) operation when advantageous reception becomes possible by combining signals transmitted based on multiple beams.

[0304] Here, it is assumed that the measured values of signals #2, #3, and #4 transmitted based on beams #2, #3, and #4, respectively, are greater than or equal to the multi-beam related threshold. In this case, beams #2, #3, and #4 can be determined as beams suitable for reception based on combination (e.g., multi-beam reception).

[0305] At this time, if the number of beams suitable for combination-based reception (e.g., multi-beam reception) is greater than or equal to a threshold value (e.g., N = 2), the terminal may decide to perform monitoring of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS).

[0306] Subsequently, the terminal may perform operations related to a low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) as described in various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0307] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure [Proposal #2], entry / exit conditions for low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) operation using multiple beams may be provided.

[0308] For example, the entry and exit conditions for monitoring a low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) can be determined by considering the channel conditions of multiple beams. A method is proposed to determine whether to enter low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring by utilizing channel quality information measured based on a low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) or a synchronization signal (e.g., PSS / SSS) received from multiple beams by a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) or a main radio (e.g., MR).

[0309] For example, the entry / exit condition for monitoring a low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) can also be used as a condition to determine whether to measure radio resource management (e.g., RRM) through a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) (e.g., whether to offload or relax radio resource management (e.g., RRM)).

[0310] For example, Proposal #1 and Proposal #2 can be combined. For example, if a terminal enters low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring based on a single beam, the terminal receives only a single low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) signal regardless of Proposal #1, and if a terminal enters low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring based on multiple beams, the terminal can perform low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring by combining multiple low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams as in the method according to Proposal #1.

[0311] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, entry conditions for monitoring a low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) can be defined in various ways.

[0312] 1. Single-beam based threshold-based method

[0313] The entry condition may be when the channel quality measurement value from a single optimally selected beam exceeds a set threshold.

[0314] 2. Multi-beam based threshold-based method #1

[0315] The entry condition can be evaluated by considering multiple beams and combining the channel quality measurements of the best N beams, or by combining the channel quality measurements of beams that exceed a specific threshold.

[0316] Here, for example, in the case of an outbreak condition, it may be set to the case where the combined value of the channel quality measurements of the best-N beams is less than a specific threshold, or where there are no beams exceeding a specific threshold, or where the combined value of the channel quality measurements of beams exceeding a specific threshold is less than a second specific threshold.

[0317] 3. Multi-beam based threshold-based method #2

[0318] An entry condition may be set when the number of beams with channel quality exceeding a set threshold is N or more, in which case a lower threshold may be applied compared to the single-beam method.

[0319] Here, for example, in the case of the exit condition, it may be set to a case where there are no beams exceeding a set threshold for channel quality, or a case where the number of beams exceeding the threshold is less than N.

[0320] Alternatively, according to another embodiment, it may be possible to set a single beam-based threshold and multiple beam-based thresholds simultaneously, and in this case, if either of the two conditions is satisfied, the entry condition may be considered satisfied.

[0321] Here, for example, two or more conditions may be satisfied depending on the channel environment. In this case, the terminal can choose between single-beam based operation and multi-beam based operation. Alternatively, the terminal can always perform single-beam based operation.

[0322] For example, channel quality measurements for each beam can be performed according to a specific procedure. First, measurements can be performed using one or more metrics specified by the network (e.g., Low Power Reference Signal Received Power (e.g., LP-RSRP), Low Power Reference Signal Received Quality (e.g., LP-RSRQ), or LP-SINR). Subsequently, the best N beams or beams exceeding a threshold value are selected, and then the final channel quality measurement value can be calculated by combining the measurements of the selected beams.

[0323] For example, entry and exit threshold values can be set according to the characteristics of the receiver performing the measurement. Specifically, different threshold values may be applied to measurements using a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) and measurements using a main radio (e.g., MR), taking into account the differences in reception performance and measurement reliability of each receiver.

[0324] For example, since more precise measurements are possible for main radio (e.g., MR), a relatively higher threshold value may be set compared to a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR). Additionally, even within the same receiver, different threshold values may be applied depending on the metric being measured (e.g., low-power reference signal reception power (e.g., LP-RSRP), low-power reference signal reception quality (e.g., LP-RSRQ)), and these threshold values may be dynamically configured according to network settings or broadcast via system information.

[0325] For example, prior to measurement through a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR), it may be possible to evaluate entry conditions through main radio (e.g., MR)-based measurements. If the value of the reception quality of a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) measured by the main radio (e.g., reference signal reception power (e.g., RSRP) / reference signal reception quality (e.g., RSRQ)) exceeds a set threshold, low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring may be performed on the low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beam mapped to that beam. This may be based on the fact that there is a correlation between the measurement results of the main radio (e.g., MR) and the reception performance of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR).

[0326] The measurement results of the main radio (e.g., MR) can be utilized in various ways. For example, measurements may be performed at the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) only on the top N beams measured by the main radio (e.g., MR), or measurements may be performed at the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) only on beams where the main radio (e.g., MR) measurement value exceeds a specific threshold value.

[0327] In addition, the measurement cycle or measurement time of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) may be adjusted based on the results of the main radio (e.g., MR) measurement. This method can be useful for reducing the measurement overhead of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) and optimizing power consumption. In particular, considering the limited reception capabilities of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR), selectively determining the target beam for measurement of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) by utilizing the results of the main radio (e.g., MR) measurement can have significant advantages in terms of system efficiency.

[0328] For example, in the case of exit conditions, multiple exit threshold values may be set, and exit may be determined based on combination conditions of the set exit threshold values. For example, exit may be determined when all exit threshold conditions are satisfied simultaneously, when at least one condition is satisfied, or when a specific combination of conditions predefined by the network is satisfied.

[0329] For example, the ping-pong effect can be prevented by setting each exit threshold value lower than the corresponding entry threshold value, and the exit condition evaluation method can be signaled or predefined depending on the network configuration. When the exit condition is satisfied, the terminal can stop monitoring the low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) and switch to the existing paging monitoring method.

[0330] Differentiated approaches may be possible depending on the type of low-power wake receiver (e.g., LP-WUR). For low-power wake receivers (e.g., LP-WUR) capable of receiving orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (e.g., OFDM) sequences, more accurate channel quality measurements are possible through synchronization signals (e.g., PSS / SSS) or low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) / low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) overlaid with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (e.g., OFDM); therefore, differentiated entry / exit thresholds can be set taking this into account. Such differentiation by type can enable optimal utilization of the characteristics of each low-power wake receiver (e.g., LP-WUR).

[0331] The entry / exit conditions proposed in this proposal can be extended not only to monitoring low-power weather signals (e.g., LP-WUS) but also to determining whether radio resource management (e.g., RRM) measurements can be performed through low-power weather receivers (e.g., LP-WUR).

[0332] For example, in such cases, conditions such as the entry condition for low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring may be used, or separately, a separate threshold value may be set to determine radio resource management (e.g., RRM) measurements through a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR).

[0333] For example, if the radio resource management (e.g., RRM) measurement condition through the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) is satisfied, the terminal may perform part of the main radio (e.g., MR) operation based on the channel quality measurement result through the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) without performing part of the measurement through the main radio (e.g., MR).

[0334] FIG. 13 illustrates a method for determining whether to perform multi-beam based low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) monitoring according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 13 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure, and the description, function, procedure, proposal, method, and / or operation of the method may be omitted.

[0335] Referring to FIG. 13, X signals transmitted based on each of beams #1 to #X are shown. For example, the X signals may be received by a terminal. For example, the X signals may be X low-power weather signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) transmissions included in a low-power weather signal opportunity (e.g., LO).

[0336] For example, the terminal can measure the quality of X signals transmitted based on each of the beams #1 to #X. For example, according to a threshold value according to existing technology, the measured value of each of the X signals may be lower than the threshold value, so all beams may be determined to be beams unsuitable for reception.

[0337] At this time, the terminal may decide not to perform a receiving operation related to a single-beam-based low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) according to existing technology.

[0338] On the other hand, the multi-beam related threshold value provided according to various embodiments of the present disclosure may be set lower than the threshold value according to the prior art, and this may be for performing low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) operation when advantageous reception becomes possible by combining signals transmitted based on multiple beams.

[0339] Here, it is assumed that the measured values of signals #2, #3, and #4 transmitted based on beams #2, #3, and #4, respectively, are greater than or equal to the multi-beam related threshold. In this case, beams #2, #3, and #4 can be determined as beams suitable for reception based on combination (e.g., multi-beam reception).

[0340] At this time, the terminal may decide to perform a receiving operation based on beam combining (e.g., multi-beam receiving). For example, the terminal may decide to perform monitoring of a low-power weather signal (e.g., LP-WUS) by combining beam #2, beam #3, and beam #4.

[0341] Subsequently, the terminal may perform operations related to a low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) as described in various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0342] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure [Proposal #3], a method for optimizing beam management using low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) and main radio (e.g., MR) measurements may be provided.

[0343] For example, to efficiently manage low-power weather signals (e.g., LP-WUS) / low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS), a method is proposed to utilize the combined measurement results of a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) and a main radio (e.g., MR).

[0344] Measurement results based on synchronization signal blocks (e.g., SSB) performed by the main radio (e.g., MR) can be used to determine an initial group of beam candidates to be used for receiving low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS).

[0345] Specifically, low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams corresponding to the top N synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) beams measured by the main radio (e.g., MR) may be set as candidates, or low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams corresponding to synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) beams exceeding a specific threshold value may be set as candidates. This method can reduce the burden on the low-power wake receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) to perform measurements on all possible beams and enable efficient beam selection.

[0346] For example, a base station may explicitly indicate a list of candidates for low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams in the form of a bitmap, similar to how a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) indicates the temporal position of a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) transmitted as a bitmap through a signaling parameter (e.g., ssb-PositionsInBurst parameter).

[0347] For example, this list can be configured by considering the mapping relationship with the synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) beam, and the terminal can perform low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) measurements only for the indicated beams and receive low-power wake-up signals (e.g., LP-WUS) only at the low-power wake-up signal monitoring opportunity (e.g., LMO) corresponding to the indicated beams.

[0348] In addition, for example, the base station may also specify a priority for each beam. This priority may be determined by considering the results of the synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) of the main radio (e.g., MR), the history of past low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) measurements, or the load status of the network.

[0349] For example, the terminal can optimize the beam selection process by differentiating the measurement order or measurement cycle based on this priority. The base station can explicitly specify a list of candidates for low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams in the form of a bitmap, etc. (in a manner similar to a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) bitmap).

[0350] For example, measurement results from a low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) and a main radio (e.g., MR) can be combined and utilized in various ways. By analyzing the correlation between the low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) based beam quality measured by the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) and the synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) based beam quality measured by the main radio (e.g., MR), the reliability of the measurement can be evaluated or abnormal conditions can be detected.

[0351] For example, if the low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) measurement value of a high-quality beam in a synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB)-based measurement appears low by exceeding a set difference threshold, additional measurements for that beam may be performed or that beam may be switched to another candidate beam.

[0352] In addition, for example, by setting the measurement cycle of the main radio (e.g., MR) and the measurement cycle of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) differently, the measurement target beam of the low-power weather receiver (e.g., LP-WUR) may be readjusted whenever the measurement result of the main radio (e.g., MR) is updated.

[0354] In a second aspect of the present disclosure, a terminal used in a wireless communication system may be provided, comprising: at least one processor; and at least one computer memory operably connected to the at least one processor and, when executed, causing the at least one processor to perform the operation proposed in the present disclosure.

[0355] In a third aspect of the present disclosure, a device for a terminal may be provided, comprising: at least one processor; and at least one computer memory operably connected to the at least one processor and, when executed, causes the at least one processor to perform the operation proposed in the present disclosure.

[0356] In a fourth aspect of the present disclosure, a computer-readable storage medium may be provided that includes at least one computer program that, when executed, causes at least one processor to perform the operation proposed in the present disclosure.

[0357] In a fifth aspect of the present disclosure, a method used by a base station in a wireless communication system may be provided, comprising the step of performing the operation proposed in the present disclosure.

[0358] In a sixth aspect of the present disclosure, a base station used in a wireless communication system may be provided, comprising: at least one processor; and at least one computer memory operably connected to the at least one processor and, when executed, causing the at least one processor to perform the operation proposed in the present disclosure.

[0359] Herein, the operations proposed in this disclosure may be described separately for convenience, but unless specifically stated otherwise, each operation may be combined with others.

[0360] A low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) is a signal that allows a terminal to monitor paging at low power while in a state where it is not monitoring paging by default (idle state), and includes an instruction to perform paging after a specific time interval from the time of receiving it. Here, according to existing technology, the reception of the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) is performed only on a single beam basis, which may result in a problem where detection performance and performance related to false alarms deteriorate in environments of channel fluctuation or beam switching.

[0361] Conventional low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) / low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) reception is often designed around a single beam / single MO, making it difficult to simultaneously satisfy reception reliability (detection performance) and false alarm control in environments with channel fluctuations or beam switching. Additionally, if the linkage between synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB)-based beam information and low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) beams is inefficient, the terminal unnecessarily measures / monitors many beams, increasing power consumption and measurement overhead.

[0362] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a beam combining multiple beams may be used for receiving a low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) and / or a low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS). The present disclosure proposes a method in which a plurality of low-power wake-up signal monitoring opportunities (e.g., LMO) are configured within a single low-power wake-up signal opportunity (e.g., LO), and a terminal selects a beam above a threshold value or an upper N (e.g., Best-N) beam based on a low-power synchronization signal (e.g., LP-SS) / synchronization signal block (e.g., SSB) measurement (LP-RSRP / LP-RSRQ / LP-SINR, etc.) to combine and receive and decode the low-power wake-up signal (e.g., LP-WUS) received from the corresponding monitoring opportunities (e.g., MO). To this end, multi-beam based entry / exit conditions can be defined, and low-power weather radio (e.g., LP-WUR) measurement / monitoring targets can be pre-filtered using main radio (e.g., MR) measurement results, or the network can indicate candidate beams using bitmaps / mappings to optimize the beam management procedure.

[0363] According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, by using a beam formed by combining multiple beams, the reception performance and coverage of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) and / or low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) can be improved, and a false alarm suppression effect can occur. For example, through selection and combination of multiple beams and multiple monitoring opportunities (e.g., MO), the reception performance and coverage of low-power wake signals (e.g., LP-WUS) / low-power synchronization signals (e.g., LP-SS) can be improved, while false alarms can be suppressed through threshold value / top N (e.g., Best-N) based selective monitoring. In addition, unnecessary measurements / receptions can be reduced through main radio (e.g., MR) based candidate group setting and beam mapping optimization, thereby reducing terminal power consumption and system overhead, and enabling energy-efficient operation in various channel / beam environments.

[0364] FIG. 14 illustrates a procedure of a method that can be performed by a first device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 14 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure, and the description, function, procedure, proposal, method, and / or operation of said embodiment may be omitted.

[0365] Referring to FIG. 14, in step S1410, the first device may receive a first threshold value related to receiving a multi-beam based low-power weather signal from a base station. For example, the first threshold value may be lower than a second threshold value related to receiving a single-beam based low-power weather signal. In step S1420, the first device may receive a plurality of signals transmitted based on each of a plurality of beams from the base station. In step S1430, the first device may obtain a plurality of first measurement values by measuring the plurality of signals. In step S1440, the first device may include a step of monitoring the low-power weather signal based on the fact that the number of measurement values among the plurality of first measurement values that exceed the first threshold value is N or more.

[0366] For example, based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is N or more, the paging signal may not be monitored.

[0367] For example, additionally, the first device can monitor a paging signal based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is less than N.

[0368] For example, based on the fact that the number of measurement values exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurement values is N or more, the low-power weather signal can be monitored based on beams corresponding to the measurement values exceeding the first threshold value.

[0369] For example, the above multiple signals may be multiple low-power synchronization signals.

[0370] For example, additionally, the first device may receive bitmap information related to the time positions of the plurality of low-power synchronization signals from the base station. For example, the plurality of low-power synchronization signals may be received based on the bitmap information.

[0371] For example, the above multiple signals may be multiple low-power weather signals.

[0372] For example, the plurality of first measurement values above may be plurality of reference signal reception power values.

[0373] For example, based on the above monitoring, a plurality of low-power weather signals are monitored, and the plurality of low-power weather signals can be mapped one-to-one with the plurality of beams.

[0374] For example, additionally, the first device may receive a plurality of synchronization signal blocks transmitted from the base station based on the total beams; obtain a plurality of second measurement values by measuring the plurality of synchronization signal blocks; and determine the plurality of beams among the total beams based on the plurality of second measurement values.

[0375] For example, the plurality of beams may be beams associated with the highest M measurements among the plurality of second measurements.

[0376] For example, additionally, the first device can monitor a paging signal in a paging opportunity associated with a low-power weather signal opportunity in which the low-power weather signal is received, based on the low-power weather signal.

[0377] The above-described embodiment may be applied to various devices described below. First, the processor (102) of the first device (100) may control the transceiver (106) to receive a first threshold value related to receiving a multi-beam based low-power weather signal from the base station (300). Then, the processor (102) of the first device (100) may control the transceiver (106) to receive a plurality of signals transmitted based on each of the plurality of beams from the base station (300). Then, the processor (102) of the first device (100) may obtain a plurality of first measurement values by measuring the plurality of signals. And, the processor (102) of the first device (100) may include the step of monitoring a low-power weather signal based on the fact that the number of measurement values exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurement values is N or more.

[0378] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a first device may be provided. For example, the first device may include: at least one transceiver; at least one processor; and at least one memory connected to the at least one processor and storing instructions. For example, based on the instructions being executed by the at least one processor, the first device may be configured to: receive a first threshold value related to receiving a multi-beam based low-power weather signal from a base station, wherein the first threshold value is lower than a second threshold value related to receiving a single-beam based low-power weather signal; receive a plurality of signals transmitted based on each of a plurality of beams from the base station; obtain a plurality of first measurement values by measuring the plurality of signals; and monitor a low-power weather signal based on the fact that the number of measurement values among the plurality of first measurement values that exceed the first threshold value is N or more.

[0379] For example, based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is N or more, the paging signal may not be monitored.

[0380] For example, additionally, the above commands may cause the first device to monitor a paging signal based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is less than N.

[0381] For example, based on the fact that the number of measurement values exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurement values is N or more, the low-power weather signal can be monitored based on beams corresponding to the measurement values exceeding the first threshold value.

[0382] For example, the above multiple signals may be multiple low-power synchronization signals.

[0383] For example, additionally, the above commands may cause the first device to receive bitmap information related to the time positions of the plurality of low-power synchronization signals from the base station. [0385] For example, the plurality of first measurement values above may be plurality of reference signal reception power values.

[0386] For example, based on the above monitoring, a plurality of low-power weather signals are monitored, and the plurality of low-power weather signals can be mapped one-to-one with the plurality of beams.

[0391] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a non-transient computer-readable storage medium recording commands may be provided. For example, when the commands are executed, the first device may: receive a first threshold value related to receiving a multi-beam based low-power weather signal from a base station, wherein the first threshold value is lower than a second threshold value related to receiving a single-beam based low-power weather signal; receive a plurality of signals transmitted based on each of a plurality of beams from the base station; obtain a plurality of first measurement values by measuring the plurality of signals; and monitor the low-power weather signal based on the fact that the number of measurement values among the plurality of first measurement values that exceed the first threshold value is N or more.

[0392] FIG. 15 illustrates a procedure of a method that can be performed by a second device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 15 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure, and the description, function, procedure, proposal, method, and / or operation of said embodiment may be omitted.

[0393] Referring to FIG. 15, in step S1510, the second device may transmit to the first device a first threshold value related to receiving a multi-beam-based low-power weather signal. For example, the first threshold value may be lower than a second threshold value related to receiving a single-beam-based low-power weather signal. In step S1520, the second device may transmit to the first device multiple signals based on each of the multiple beams. In step S1530, the second device may transmit to the first device multiple low-power weather signals in multiple low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities based on each of the multiple beams. For example, multiple first measurement values related to the multiple signals are acquired by the first device, and monitoring of the multiple low-power weather signals may be performed based on the number of measurement values among the multiple first measurement values exceeding the first threshold value being N or more.

[0394] For example, additionally, the second device may transmit a paging signal in a paging opportunity associated with the plurality of low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities. For example, the paging signal may not be monitored based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is N or more.

[0395] For example, additionally, the second device may transmit a paging signal in a paging opportunity associated with the plurality of low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities. For example, the paging signal may be monitored based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is less than N.

[0396] For example, based on the fact that the number of measurement values exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurement values is N or more, the low-power weather signal can be monitored based on beams corresponding to the measurement values exceeding the first threshold value.

[0397] For example, the above multiple signals may be multiple low-power synchronization signals.

[0398] For example, additionally, the second device may transmit bitmap information related to the time positions of the plurality of low-power synchronization signals to the first device. For example, the plurality of low-power synchronization signals may be received based on the bitmap information.

[0399] For example, the above multiple signals may be multiple low-power weather signals.

[0400] For example, the plurality of first measurement values above may be plurality of reference signal reception power values.

For example, a plurality of second measurement values may be obtained by the first device based on measurements of the plurality of synchronization signal blocks, and the plurality of beams among the total beams may be determined based on the plurality of second measurement values.

[0403] For example, the plurality of beams may be beams associated with the highest M measurements among the plurality of second measurements.

[0404] For example, based on the low-power weather signal, the paging signal may be monitored by the first device in a paging opportunity associated with a low-power weather signal opportunity in which the low-power weather signal is received.

For example, the first threshold value may be lower than a second threshold value related to receiving a single-beam-based low-power weather signal. Then, the processor (202) of the second device (200) may control the transceiver (206) to transmit multiple signals based on each of the multiple beams to the first device (100). Then, the processor (202) of the second device (200) may control the transceiver (206) to transmit multiple low-power weather signals in multiple low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities based on each of the multiple beams to the first device (100). For example, a plurality of first measurement values related to the plurality of signals are obtained by the first device (100), and monitoring of the plurality of low-power weather signals can be performed based on the fact that the number of measurement values among the plurality of first measurement values that exceed the first threshold value is N or more.

[0407] For example, additionally, the commands may cause the second device to transmit a paging signal in a paging opportunity associated with the plurality of low-power weather signal monitoring opportunities. For example, the paging signal may not be monitored based on the fact that the number of measurements exceeding the first threshold value among the plurality of first measurements is N or more.

[0436] FIG. 18 shows a signal processing circuit for a transmission signal according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The embodiment of FIG. 19 can be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

The hardware elements of FIG. 19 may be implemented in the processor (102, 202) and / or transceiver (106, 206) of FIG. 17. For example, blocks 1010 through 1060 may be implemented in the processor (102, 202) of FIG. 17. Additionally, blocks 1010 to 1050 may be implemented in the processor (102, 202) of FIG. 17, and block 1060 may be implemented in the transceiver (106, 206) of FIG. 17.

[0438] The codeword can be converted into a wireless signal through the signal processing circuit (1000) of FIG. 19. Here, the codeword is an encoded bit sequence of an information block. The information block may include a transmission block (e.g., UL-SCH transmission block, DL-SCH transmission block). The wireless signal can be transmitted through various physical channels (e.g., terminal-to-base station physical shared channel (e.g., PUSCH), base station-to-terminal physical shared channel (e.g., PDSCH)).

[0439] Specifically, a codeword can be converted into a scrambled bit sequence by a scrambler (1010). The scrambled sequence used for scrambling is generated based on an initialization value, which may include ID information of a wireless device, etc. The scrambled bit sequence can be modulated into a modulation symbol sequence by a modulator (1020). The modulation method may include pi / 2-BPSK (pi / 2-Binary Phase Shift Keying), m-PSK (m-Phase Shift Keying), m-QAM (m-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), etc. The complex modulation symbol sequence can be mapped to one or more transmission layers by a layer mapper (1030). The modulation symbols of each transmission layer can be mapped to the corresponding antenna port(s) by a precoder (1040) (precoding). The output z of the precoder (1040) can be obtained by multiplying the output y of the layer mapper (1030) by an N*M precoding matrix W. Here, N is the number of antenna ports and M is the number of transmission layers. Here, the precoder (1040) can perform precoding after performing transform precoding (e.g., DFT transform) on the complex modulation symbols. Additionally, the precoder (1040) can perform precoding without performing transform precoding.

[0440] A resource mapper (1050) can map the modulation symbols of each antenna port to a time-frequency resource. The time-frequency resource may include multiple symbols (e.g., CP-OFDMA symbols, DFT-s-OFDMA symbols) in the time domain and multiple subcarriers in the frequency domain. A signal generator (1060) generates a radio signal from the mapped modulation symbols, and the generated radio signal can be transmitted to another device through each antenna. To this end, the signal generator (1060) may include an Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) module, a Cyclic Prefix (CP) inserter, a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), a frequency uplink converter, etc.

[0441] The signal processing process for a received signal in a wireless device can be configured as the inverse of the signal processing process (1010–1060) of FIG. 19. For example, a wireless device (e.g., 100, 200 in FIG. 17) can receive a wireless signal from the outside through an antenna port / transceiver. The received wireless signal can be converted into a baseband signal through a signal restorer. To this end, the signal restorer may include a frequency downlink converter, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a CP remover, and a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) module. Subsequently, the baseband signal can be restored into a codeword through a resource de-mapper process, a postcoding process, a demodulation process, and a de-scrambling process. The codeword can be restored into the original information block through decoding. Accordingly, a signal processing circuit (not shown) for a received signal may include a signal restorer, a resource de-mapper, a postcoder, a demodulator, a de-scrambler, and a decoder.

[0442] FIG. 19 illustrates a wireless device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. The wireless device may be implemented in various forms depending on the use-example / service (see FIG. 16). The embodiment of FIG. 19 may be combined with various embodiments of the present disclosure.

For example, the wireless device (100, 200) may include a communication unit (110), a control unit (120), a memory unit (130), and additional elements (140). The communication unit may include a communication circuit (112) and transceiver(s) (114). For example, the communication circuit (112) may include one or more processors (102, 202) and / or one or more memories (104, 204) of FIG. 17. For example, the transceiver(s) (114) may include one or more transceivers (106, 206) and / or one or more antennas (108, 208) of FIG. 17.
