[0019] Implementations of the current subject matter include devices relating to vaporizing of one or more materials for inhalation by a user. The term “vaporizer” may be used generically in the following description and may refer to a vaporizer device, such as an electronic vaporizer. Vaporizers consistent with the current subject matter may be referred to by various terms such as inhalable aerosol devices, aerosolizers, vaporization devices, electronic vaping devices, electronic vaporizers, vape pens, portable vaporizers, etc. Examples of vaporizers consistent with implementations of the current subject matter include electronic vaporizers, electronic cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and / or the like. In general, such vaporizers are often portable, hand-held devices that heat a vaporizable material to provide an inhalable dose of the material. The vaporizer may include a heating system configured to heat a vaporizable material that results in the production of one or more gas-phase components of the vaporizable material. A vaporizable material may include liquid and / or oil-type plant materials, or a semisolid like a wax, or plant material such as leaves or flowers, either raw or processed. The vaporizers may, in some implementations of the current subject matter, be particularly adapted for use with a plant material, such as a loose-leaf and / or full bud plant material (e.g., cannabis plant material although other types of vaporizable materials may be used as well.

[0020] The vaporizer device may store a vaporizable material, such as a plant material. When hearing the plant material, the vaporizer device may either directly or indirectly heat the plant material (e.g., the vaporizable material), such as when the vaporizer device is activated. For example, the vaporizer device may heat the plant material, and after the plant material has been heated for a sufficient amount of time and / or to a desired temperature, a user may draw on the vaporizer device to inhale an aerosol including at least some of the vaporized plant material.

[0021] The vaporizer device may heat the vaporizable material via conduction (which may in part be augmented by radiation) and / or convection. However, conventional vaporizerVia Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564 devices may, in some instances, heat the vaporizable material at slower speeds. Moreover, the heating system (which is used for the vaporizer) may not be configured to efficiently provide heat to the vaporizable material, which results in inefficient use of power (and thus more frequent battery charging for example). As such, heat management can be a challenge with portable vaporizer devices.

[0022] In some embodiments, the portable vaporizer device consistent with implementations of the current subject matter may regenerate (e.g., recapture) at least some of the vaporizer device’s heat (e.g., heat generated from convection heating elements), so that the recaptured heat is used to heat the vaporizable material. In this way, the recaptured heat may enable enhanced heat management, as well as a more efficient vaporizer device with respect to power usage and / or heat efficiency.

[0023] FIG. 1 schematically illustrates an example of a vaporizer device 10, consistent with implementations of the current subject matter. The vaporizer device 10 includes a vessel 12 (also referred to as an “oven”) contained within a vaporizer body 14, and further includes a heating system (see, e.g., FIGs. 5A and 5B) that is configured to elevate a temperature of the vessel 12 and / or the vaporizable material within the vessel 12 to a level and / or range (with respect to temperature) that is suitable for vaporizing the vaporizable material. In some embodiments, the heating system provides convection and conduction heating of the vaporizable material contained within the vessel 12. In some embodiments, the vaporizer device 10 regenerates (e.g., recaptures) at least some of the heating system’s heat. The vessel 12 may be positioned within a cavity, such as at a recess 196 (e.g., the recess exposes an interior of the vaporizer body of the vaporizer body 14 of the vaporizer device 10). The vessel 12 may be positioned at an end of the vaporizer device 10 and / or along a side of the vaporizer device 10. In the example of FIG. 1 the vessel 12 is positioned at a first end of the vaporizer device 10 proximate to an end cap 3 and is positioned at a second, distal end to a mouthpiece 18.

[0024] In some embodiments, the vaporizer device 10 includes a door 86 that provides a lid (e.g., a cover) to contain the vaporizable material contained within the vessel 12. The door 86 is removable and couples to the vaporizer body 14 at the recess 196 having a similar (or same) shape as the door 86. In other words, the door 86 is configured to be removable from the vaporizer body and configured to enclose at least the recess 196 and the vessel 12. The door 86 covers the recess 196 so as to fit over the recess and closes (e.g., seals) the recess 196 and the vessel 12 to form an air path from the vessel 12 to the mouthpieceVia Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564 18 (when coupled to the vaporizer body 14). When the heater system is activated, the vaporizer device 10 heats and vaporizes the vaporizable material, when the vaporizable material is contained or placed within the vessel 12. FIG. 1 also shows an oven screen 122. The oven screen sits at the bottom of the vessel 12 to create a gap between the bottom of the vessel 12 and the oven screen 122. In this way, the vaporizable material does not sit at the bottom of the vessel 12. As such, heated air flowing in from the bottom of the vessel 12 enters the gap before heating by convection the vaporizable material sitting on the oven screen 122.

[0025] In the example of FIG. 1, the door 86 is configured with a stadium shape having a first side 111A and an opposite, parallel second side 111B with two semi-circular ends 111C and HID. Similarly, the recess 196 is configured with a stadium shape having a first side 112A and an opposite, parallel second side 112B with two semi-circular ends 112C and 112D. Although the door 86 and recess 196 are shown at FIG. 1 with stadium shapes, other shapes may be used as well (e.g., a rectangle, circle, square, oval, slot, etc.).

[0026] FIG. 2 depicts a perspective view of the vaporizer device 10 of FIG. 1. FIG.2 depicts that the door 86 includes a first, proximal surface 202 and a second, distal surface 204. A projection element 210 of the door extends from the second, distal surface 204. The projection element 210 is sized and shaped to be inserted into a cavity formed by the vessel 12. A gasket 212 around some if not all of the perimeter of the second, distal surface 204 may be used to form a seal between the door 86 and the recess 196, when the door is inserted into the recess 196 (which also results in the projection element 210 being inserted into the cavity formed by the vessel 12). The gasket 212 may improve and / or control the air flow(s) from the vessel 12 to the mouthpiece 18. Although the vessel 12 cavity and projection element 210 are shown at FIG. 2 with stadium shapes, other shapes may be used as well (e.g., a rectangle, circle, square, oval, slot, etc.).

[0027] The vaporizer body 14 and / or the end cap 3 may include one or more apertures (e.g., inlets, holes, opening, gaps, spaces, cracks, slits, and / or a like) to allow air to enter into the vessel 12 from, for example, outside of the vaporizer device 10. In the example of FIG. 1, an air inlet 157 allows air (e.g., cool air) to enter the vaporizer device 10 in response to a user inhaling from the mouthpiece 18 of the vaporizer device 10. For example, the inhalation causes an intake of air into the vessel 12 via at least the inlet 157. The incoming air mixes with the vapor generated by the vaporization of vaporizable material. The resulting airflow carries the aerosol from the vessel 12 along an air path 17 to the mouthpiece 18 where the aerosol is delivered to the user.Via Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564

[0028] The door 86 and / or vaporizer body 14 may include one or more mechanisms, for example, snaps, latches, grooves, threading, magnets, clips, quick connect, sliding mechanisms, quarter turn release, friction fit, and the like, configured to position and / or secure the door 86 to the recess 196 of the vaporizer body 14. In some embodiments, the door 86 may include at least one magnet to secure the door 86 to the recess 1 6 of the vaporizer body 14. For example, magnets may be placed on opposite sides of the door 86 such that these door magnets are attracted to corresponding magnets (or a magnetically attractive material, such as metal) positioned in the interior surface of the vaporizer body 14.

[0029] The vaporizer body 14 may comprise an outer shell 20 (which may surround all or a portion of the vaporizer body 14). The outer shell covers at least a portion of the vaporizer body, and the outer shell may be made of various types of materials, including for example aluminum (e.g., AL6063, AL6061), stainless steel, glass, ceramic, titanium, plastic (e.g., Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Nylon, Polycarbonate (PC), Polyether Sulfone (PESU), and the like), fiberglass, carbon fiber, and any hard, durable material. In the example of FIG. 2, the outer shell 20 extends between a first end 1099A and the second end 1099B, the outer shell 20 having two opposing long side portions 1099C-D and two opposing short side portions 1099E-F that define the outer shell.

[0030] FIG. 3 is a schematic block diagram illustrating examples of various components which may be included in the vaporizer device 10 consistent with implementations of the current subject matter. Included in the vaporizer body 14 is, for example, a controller 128 that includes at least one processor and / or at least one memory configured to control and manage various operations among the components of the vaporizer device 10 described herein. Although FIG. 3 depicts a variety of components, in some implementation, some components may not be included. For example, the vaporizer device 10 may not include a speaker 140, wireless communication circuitry 142, pressure sensors 137 and 138, and / or the like.

[0031] Heater circuitry 130 of the vaporizer body 14 controls a heating system disposed within the vaporizer body 14. For example, the heating system may generate (or, e.g., control or cause) heat (e.g., convective and conductive heat) to provide for the vaporization of the vaporizable material. Moreover, the heating system may include one or more of a heating coil, a resistive wire (e.g., a resistive heater), an inductive heating system, a conduction heating system, a convection heating system, and / or other types of heating elements. In some embodiments, the heating system may include a first heating element to provide a convection heating system and a second heating element to provide a conduction heating system.Via Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564

[0032] In some embodiments, the vaporizer device 10 may include capacitive sensing circuity 145 configured to detect contact between the user and the vaporizer device 10. For example, the capacitive sensing circuitry 145 may detect a user’s lip making contact with the mouthpiece (or, for example, detect other parts of the user making contact with other parts of the vaporizer body). This detection may trigger the controller 128 (and / or heater circuitry 130) to configure the heating mode of the vessel 12 from, for example, a lower power, standby mode to a higher power, active puffing mode. Moreover, the vaporizer device 10 may include a button to turn on the vaporizer or change heating modes.

[0033] A battery 124 may be included in the vaporizer body 14, and the controller 128 may control and / or communicate with a voltage monitor 131 which includes circuitry configured to monitor the battery voltage, a reset circuit 132 configured to reset (e.g., shut down the vaporizer device 10 and / or restart the vaporizer device 10 in a certain state), a battery charger 133, and a battery regulator 134 (which may regulate the battery output, regulate charging / discharging of the battery, and provide alerts to indicate when the battery charge is low, etc.). The controller 128 may regulate the power flow (e.g., an amount or current and / or a voltage amount) to control a temperature at which heater element(s) heat the vaporizable material contained in the vessel 12. The controller 128 may control and / or communicate with optics circuitry 135 (which controls and / or communicates with one or more indicators, such as LEDs 136 which can provide user interface output indications), a pressure sensor 137, an ambient pressure sensor 138, an accelerometer 139, a haptics system 144, and / or a speaker 140 configured to generate sound or other feedback to a user.

[0034] Alternatively, or additionally, the accelerometer 139 (and / or other motion sensors, capacitive sensors, flow sensors, strain gauge(s), or the like) may be used to detect user handling and interaction, for example, to detect movement of the vaporizer body 14 (such as, for example, tapping, rolling, and / or any other deliberate movement associated with the vaporizer body 14). The detected movements may be interpreted by the controller 128 as one or more predefined user commands. For example, one particular movement may be a user command to activate the heater system and / or to gradually increase the temperature of the heating element(s) as the user intends to begin using the vaporizer device 10.

[0035] Alternatively, or additionally the vaporizer body 14, as shown in FIG. 3 for example, may include wireless communication circuitry 142 that is connected to and / or controlled by the controller 128. Alternatively, or additionally, the wireless communication circuitry 142 may include additional components including circuitry for other communicationVia Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564 technology modes, such as Bluetooth circuitry, Bluetooth Low Energy circuitry, Wi-Fi circuitry, cellular (e.g., 4G, 5G, and / or 6G) circuitry, and associated circuitry (e.g., control circuitry), for communication with other devices. For example, the vaporizer body 14 may be configured to wirelessly communicate with a remote processor (e.g., a smartphone, a tablet, a computer, wearable electronics, a cloud server, and / or processor based devices) through the wireless communication circuitry 142, and the vaporizer body 14 may through this communication receive information including control information (e.g., for setting temperature, resetting a dose counter, etc.) from and / or transmit output information (e.g., dose information, operational information, error information, temperature setting information, heater information, charge / battery information, etc.) to one or more of the remote processors.

[0036] Alternatively, or additionally, the vaporizer body 14 may include a haptics system 144, such as an actuator, a linear resonant actuator (LRA), an eccentric rotating mass (ERM) motor, an actuator, a speaker, and / or the like that provide haptic feedback such as a vibration which can be used to provide user feedback signal(s). The controller 128 may additionally or alternatively provide a signal to the speaker 140 to emit a sound or series of sounds. The haptics system 144 and / or speaker 140 may also provide feedback to the user of the vaporizer device 10; for example, providing haptic and / or audio feedback when a particular amount of a vaporizable material has been used, heating temperature set for the oven / vessel, and / or when a period of time since last use has elapsed. Alternatively, or additionally, haptic and / or audio feedback may be provided as a user cycles through various temperature settings of the vessel / oven of the vaporizer device 10. Alternatively, or additionally, the haptics system 144 and / or speaker 140 may signal when a certain amount of battery power is left (e.g., a low battery warning and recharge needed warning) and / or when a certain amount of vaporizable material remains. Alternatively, or additionally, the haptics system 144 and / or speaker 140 may also provide usage feedback for the vaporizer device 10 (e.g., allowing the change of a configuration, such as target heating rate, heating rate, etc.).

[0037] Alternatively, or additionally, the vaporizer body 14 also includes the connection 118 (e.g., USB-C connection, micro-USB connection, and / or other types of connectors) for coupling the vaporizer body 14 to a charger to enable charging the internal battery 124. Alternatively, or additionally, electrical inductive charging (also referred to as wireless charging) may be used, in which case the vaporizer body 14 would include inductive charging circuitry to enable charging. The connectors 118 at FIG. 1 may also be used for a dataVia Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564 connection between a computing device and the controller 128, which may facilitate development activities such as, for example, programming and debugging.

[0038] Alternatively, or additionally, the vaporizer body 14 may also include a memory 146 that is part of the controller 128 or is in communication with the controller 128. The memory 146 may include volatile and / or non-volatile memory or provide data storage. In some implementations, the memory 146 may include 8 Mbit of flash memory, although the memory is not limited to this and other types of memory may be implemented as well.

[0039] FIG. 4A depicts a cross section of the vaporizer device 10 consistent with implementations of the current subject matter. Referring to FIG. 4A, the vessel 12 (which as noted is also referred to as an oven) and oven screen 122 are shown. The vaporizable material would be inserted into the vessel 12, so that the vaporizable material sits on the oven screen 122. As noted above, the vaporizer device may include a heating system that uses convection and conduction, such as the convection heater element 404 and the conduction heating element 506. The cross section also shows a plenum 402 containing the convection heater element 404 (which in the example of FIG. 4A is a heater coil). FIGS. 5 A and 5B depict a perspective view (FIG. 5 A) and an exploded view (FIG. 5B) of the vessel 12 and the convection heater element 404 and the conduction heating element 506.

[0040] Referring again to FIG. 4A, the vessel 12 is retained at least in part by oven retainer pins 420A-B, oven O-ring 422A-B, and upper insulation element 424A-B. For example, the vessel 12 includes a lip 430 around the upper portion of the vessel 12, wherein the upper portion is distal to the bottom portion of the vessel 12. The lip 430 sits on the retainer pins 420A-B (also referred to as “oven retainer pins”) and the oven O-ring 422A-B, and upper insulation element 424A-B hold it in place. Moreover, the area surrounding the vessel 12 may comprise air, aerogel insulation, silica aerogel, or some other type of thermal insulator. In this way, heat may be recaptured from the convection heater element 404 and the recaptured heat (also referred to as regenerative heat) may flow into the vessel 12 as depicted by arrows 450A. The vessel 12 may be considered at least in part thermally isolated based on the use of the at least one retainer pin (e.g., retainer pins 420A-B) that suspends and retains the vessel in the interior of the vaporizer body. Alternatively, or additionally, the oven retainer pins 420A-B, oven O-ring 422A-B, and / or upper insulation element 424A-B may also provide the thermal isolation of the vessel 12, such that the heat flow as depicted by arrows 450A is directed toward the vessel 12. Alternatively, or additionally, the insulation in the area surrounding the vessel 12 (e.g., insulation such as air, aerogel insulation, silica aerogel, or some other type of thermalVia Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564 insulator) may also contribute to the thermal isolation of the vessel 12 to encourage the heat flow as depicted by arrows 450A toward the vessel 12.

[0041] FIG. 4C depicts the vessel 12 that is retained at least in part by oven retainer pins 420A-B, oven O-ring 422A-B, and upper insulation element 424A-B as depicted at FIGs.4A and 4B. FIG. 4C depicts the area surrounding the vessel 12 in a hatch pattern 9000. For example, the volume covered by the hatch pattern 9000 may be composed of a thermal insulator, such as air, aerogel insulation, silica aerogel, and / or some other type of thermal insulator. To illustrate further, the hatch pattern 9000 volume within the vaporizer body may comprise air and / or aerogel to thermally isolate the vessel 12. In this way, at least a portion of the heat (which is from the convection heater element 404) may be controlled (at least in part) and / or directed (at least in part) towards the vessel 12 and thus recaptured and used to heat the vessel 12 as noted above with respect to the arrows 450A. In some implementations, the vessel is thermally isolated to enable regenerative heating, such that at least about 10% to 20% percent of the heat (which would otherwise be dissipated as waste heat) is recaptured and used to heat the vaporizable material in the vessel.

[0042] Referring again to FIG. 4A, although FIG. 4A depicts the vessel 12 retained by the retention structure of the oven retainer pins 420A-B, oven O-ring 422A-B, and upper insulation element 424A-B, other types of retention structures may be used to suspend and / or retain the vessel 22. For example, the retention structure for the vessel 12 may comprise a clip ring, interference fit, screws, and / or other type of fastener or retention structures. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the retention structure is preferably non-thermally conductive.

[0043] In some embodiments, the recaptured heat is used to provide regenerative heating of the vessel 12. In other words, the recaptured heat from the convection heater element 404 flows at 450A into the vessel 12 to heat the vessel 12 and the vaporizable material contained therein. This recaptured or regenerated heating can increase the heating efficiency of the heating system. FIG. 4A also shows waste heat being dissipated at 450B and 450C to the exterior of the vaporizer device.

[0044] Referring to FIGs. 5A and 5B, the vaporizer device 10 includes, as noted, a heating system, such as the heating system 500 consistent with implementations of the cunent subject matter. The heating system 500 includes a convection heater and a conduction heater. The convection heater comprises a plenum 402. The plenum 402 carries an airflow (e.g., air obtained from inlet 157 of the end cap 3) that is being heated by the convection heater elementVia Patent Center Docket No.: 024637-196WO1 Filing Date: February 5, 2026 Customer No. 39564 404, which in this example is a coil. As an airflow travels through the interior cavity of the plenum, the airflow is heated by the convection heating element 404 (which is contained within the plenum 402 which is “transparent” at FIG. 5A to enable viewing the convection heating element 404.
