[0038] As used herein, the term “communication network” refers to a network following any suitable communication standards, such as, 6GR (6G Radio) , 5G NR, long term evolution (LTE) , LTE-advanced (LTE-A) , wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) , high-speed packet access (HSPA) , narrow band internet of things (NB-IoT) , and so on. Further, the communications between a terminal device and a network device in the communication network may be performed according to any suitable generation communication protocols, including but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, the sixth generation (6G) communication protocols, and / or any other protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied in various communication systems. Given the rapid development in communications, there will also be future type communication technologies and systems in which the present disclosure may be embodied. It should not be seen as limiting the scope of the present disclosure to only the aforementioned systems.

[0039] As used herein, the term “network device” generally refers to a node in a communication network via which a terminal device can access the communication network and receive services therefrom. The network device may refer to a base station (BS) or an access point (AP) , for example, a node B (NodeB or NB) , a radio access network (RAN) node, an evolved NodeB (eNodeB or eNB) , a NR NB (also referred to as a gNB) , a 6G NB, a remote radio unit (RRU) , a radio header (RH) , an infrastructure device for a V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication, a transmission and reception point (TRP) , a reception point (RP) , a remote radio head (RRH) , a relay, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, a low power node such as a femto BS, a pico BS, and so forth, depending on the applied terminology and technology.

[0040] As used herein, the term “terminal device” generally refers to any end device that may be capable of wireless communications. By way of example rather than a limitation, a terminal device may also be referred to as a communication device, a user equipment (UE) , an end user device, a subscriber station (SS) , an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) , a portable subscriber station, a mobile station (MS) , or an access terminal (AT) . The terminal device may include, but is not limited to, a mobile phone, a cellular phone, a smart phone, a voice over IP (VoIP) phone, a wireless local loop phone, a tablet, a wearable terminal device, a personal digital assistant (PDA) , a portable computer, a desktop computer, an image capture terminal device such as a digital camera, a gaming terminal device, a music storage and playback appliance, a vehicle-mounted wireless terminal device, a wireless endpoint, a mobile station, laptop-embedded equipment (LEE) , laptop-mounted equipment (LME) , a USB dongle, a smart device, wireless customer-premises equipment (CPE) , an internet of things (loT) device, a watch or other wearable, a head-mounted display (HMD) , a vehicle, a drone, a medical device (for example, a remote surgery device) , an industrial device (for example, a robot and / or other wireless devices operating in an industrial and / or an automated processing chain contexts) , a consumer electronics device, a device operating on commercial and / or industrial wireless networks, and the like. In the following description, the terms: “terminal device, ” “communication device, ” “terminal, ” “user equipment” and “UE, ” may be used interchangeably.

[0041] Aspects of the present disclosure are described in the context of a wireless communications system.

[0042] In 5G NR, On-demand Other System Information (OD-OSI) is introduced to reduce network energy consumption by avoiding always-on broadcasting of other SIBs (i.e., system information except MIB and SIB1) . In Rel-19 NR, On-demand System Information Block 1 (OD-SIB1) is further introduced to achieve even greater network energy savings by minimizing the transmission of SIB1. The OD-SIB1 in Rel-19 NR may be characterized as follows: - OD-SIB1 is supported for UEs in RRC_IDLE, RRC_INACTIVE and RRC_CONNECTED when T311 is running. - OD-SIB1 request configurations of one or more cells which support OD-SIB1 are included in SIB26, which can be broadcasted in any cell, including cell’s own OD-SIB1 request configuration. - UE may request SIB1 based on the OD-SIB1 request configuration from SIB26 in order to determine the suitability of a cell during and after cell reselection. - A request for SIB1 triggers a random access procedure, where MSG1 is used for indicating OD-SIB1 request and the gNB acknowledges the request in MSG2. - gNB can provide on-demand SIB1 upon receiving an OD-SIB1 request from a UE supporting OD-SIB1. - A gNB may request neighbour gNB (s) over the Xn interface to transmit or stop transmitting the OD-SIB1 configuration for a cell supporting OD-SIB1. The neighbour gNB (s) deciding to stop the OD-SIB1 configuration transmission informs the requesting gNB over Xn.

[0043] As specified in 3GPP TS38.331, the UE behavior for OD-SIB1 in Rel-19 NR is as follows: 1>if od-SIB1-Config for this cell in stored valid version of SIB26 includes sib1-RequestConfig and criteria to select normal uplink as defined in TS 38.321, clause 5.1.1 is met: 2>trigger the lower layer to initiate the Random Access procedure on normal uplink in accordance with TS 38.321 using the PRACH preamble (s) and PRACH resource (s) in sib1-RequestConfig included in od-sib1-Config for this cell in stored valid version of SIB26; 3>if indication that maximum number of PRACH attempts as configured in sib1-RequestConfig is reached is received from lower layers as defined in TS 38.321: 4>perform the actions as specified in clause 5.2.2.5. (Essential system information missing) 3>if acknowledgement for SIB1 request is received from lower layers: 4>acquire the requested SIB1 message as defined in as specified in TS 38.213, clause 23, immediately; 4>upon acquiring SIB1, perform the actions specified in clause 5.2.2.4.2. (Actions upon reception of the SIB1)

[0044] The non-terrestrial network (NTN) refers to a network, or segment of networks using radio frequency (RF) resources on board a satellite or a high altitude platform station (HAPS) , providing 4G / 5G access using LTE / NR protocols. As used herein, a satellite in NTN may be a geostationary earth orbiting (GEO) satellite with a fixed location to the Earth, or a low earth orbiting (LEO) satellite orbiting around the Earth, or a HAPS including Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or balloon. 3GPP Rel-17 specifications have provided basic support of NTN features and in Rel-18 and Rel-19 some essential enhancements were specified. It is expected that the NTN will be further enhanced and will also be supported in future 6G networks with further integration to the terrestrial network (TN) .

[0045] In Rel-19 NES, the support of OD-SIB1 does not consider NTN scenario or characteristics. Moreover, OD-SIB1 is exclusive with NTN as specified in 3GPP TS38.321: Once the Random Access Preamble is transmitted and regardless of the possible occurrence of a measurement gap, the MAC entity shall: 1> if the contention-free Random Access Preamble for beam failure recovery request was transmitted by the MAC entity: … 1> else: 2> if the Random Access Preamble was transmitted on a non-terrestrial network: 3> if the Random Access Preamble is transmitted with repetitions: … 3> else: … 2> else if the Random Access Preamble is transmitted with repetitions: … 2> else if the Random Access Preamble is transmitted for SIB1 request: …

[0046] For initial access and system information in 6G, on demand SI may be supported and further enhancements are still needed. In particular, OD-SIB1 may be supported and further enhancements are still needed.

[0047] For 6G system information design, principles including energy efficiency, low complexity, flexibility and extensibility need to be considered. These principles apply for both TN and NTN designs, while NTN has some specific requirements and implementation options. For example, energy efficiency is vital for NTN payloads and can be improved by appreciate satellite beam scheduling. For TN and NTN integration in 6G, SIB acquisition / design and initial access framework need to be considered to treated together with the TN design.

[0048] In view of the above, with considerations on some new characteristics brought by NTN including access control, synchronization, coverage variation and propagation delay, enhancements are needed to support OD-SIB1 for 6G integrated NTN and TN, in particular in the following aspects.

[0049] The first aspect relates to how to handle the relation between access control and OD-SIB1 e.g., for 6G NTN.

[0050] For 5G network energy saving (NES) , cell barring for UE supporting NES feature (nes-CellDTX-DRX) is controlled by cellBarred in MIB and cellBarredNES in SIB1. If cellBarred in the acquired MIB is set to barred and if cellBarredNES is absent in the acquired SIB1, UE considers the cell as barred. In OD-SIB1 case, UE can still request for OD-SIB1 if cellBarred in MIB is barred, and check cellBarredNES in the requested SIB1.

[0051] For 5G NTN, cell barring for UE supporting NTN access is controlled by cellBarredNTN in SIB1 (ignoring cellBarred in MIB) . If cellBarredNTN in the acquired SIB1 is set to barred, UE considers the cell as barred. Presence of cellBarredNTN is also an implicit indication of network type (present = NTN &absent = TN) . If OD-SIB1 is involved, UE has to request for OD-SIB1 to check cellBarredNTN in the requested SIB1.

[0052] If OD-SIB1 is to be supported in 6G, for UE capable of NTN access, the cell barring scheme may be related to at least one of the following: whether OD-SIB1 is a mandatory feature or an optional feature; whether OD-SIB1 is a sub function of NES feature as in NR; whether OD-SIB1 cell barring scheme is mandatory or optional; whether OD-SIB1 cell barring scheme is a sub scheme of NES cell barring scheme; whether OD-SIB1 is valid in assisted mode or also valid in standalone mode; and / or whether NTN is a mandatory feature or an optional feature; and / or whether NTN cell barring scheme is mandatory or optional.

[0053] The second aspect relates to how to ensure UL synchronization for requesting OD-SIB1 for 6G NTN.

[0054] For 5G assisted OD-SIB1, UE initiates random access (RA) to request for OD-SIB1 in Msg1 using configured PRACH preamble and resource.

[0055] For 5G NTN, UE is mandatorily required to pre-compensate timing advance to initiate random access. The pre-compensated timing advance is determined by UE location, and ephemeris and common TA broadcasted by gNB in SIB19. Without SIB1, the UE cannot obtain ephemeris and common TA in SIB19, while without ephemeris and common TA in SIB19, the UE is unable to pre-compensate TA and initiate random access for requesting SIB1.

[0056] For 4G &5G NTN, UE is mandatorily required to pre-compensate timing advance to initiate RACH-less procedures including pre-configured uplink resource (PUR) and configured grant (CG) based small data transmission (SDT) . The pre-compensated timing advance is determined by UE location, and ephemeris and common TA broadcasted by gNB in SIB19. If PUR-like or SDT-like schemes can be used to request for OD-SIB1, the UE still needs to pre-compensate TA.

[0057] For 6G NTN, it is still uncertain whether global navigation satellite system (GNSS) capability is assumed for UE, meaning that it is uncertain whether 6G UE needs to acquire ephemeris and its location for UL synchronization as in 5G NTN, or new UL synchronization scheme (e.g., by network indication and adjustment as in 5G TN) can be designed to unify NTN and TN.

[0058] If OD-SIB1 is to be supported in 6G, for UE capable of NTN access (optional or mandatory) , the UL synchronization scheme may be related to at least one of the following: whether OD-SIB1 is valid in assisted mode or also in standalone mode; or whether GNSS capability is assumed for UE to access NTN, and UL synchronization scheme, i.e., whether UE position and ephemeris are required.

[0059] The third aspect relates to how to handle the window of receiving OD-SIB1 (start and stop) for 6G NTN.

[0060] For 5G assisted OD-SIB1, PDCCH monitoring for requested OD-SIB1 starts with an offset after the start of random access response (RAR) window, and the offset and duration are configured in OD-SIB1 configuration.

[0061] For 5G NTN, the start of RAR window is delayed by an initial UE-gNB round trip time (RTT) (UE specific TA derived by UE + common TA indicated by gNB + kmac indicated by gNB) .

[0062] If OD-SIB1 is adopted in NTN or integrated TN and NTN with non-negligible RTT, the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window will be based on the start of RAR window and the initial UE-gNB RTT currently defined based on the UL synchronization scheme of 5G NTN. For 6G NTN, there could be multiple possibilities to determine the start, e.g., depending on the UL synchronization scheme adopted, the definition and segmentation of UE-gNB RTT, or the response scheme for OD-SIB1 request.

[0063] For the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window, the only factor currently applied is the configured od-sib1-WindowDuration. In NTN, there could be other factors that may terminate OD-SIB1 reception e.g., cell stop serving time, satellite switch with re-sync, ephemeris expiry or coverage interruption. Meanwhile it may also be possible that the network responses a NACK or reject in RAR (e.g., when approaching cell stop serving time) .

[0064] In view of the above, some embodiments of the present disclosure propose a solution for on-demand SIB1. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, a UE receives, from a base station, a first configuration associated with at least one OD-SIB1 configuration of at least one cell. The UE may perform at least one operation associated with OD-SIB1 based on the first configuration. In some examples, the first configuration may include access control parameters associated with the at least one cell for a feature. Alternatively or additionally, the first configuration may include synchronization parameters associated with the at least one cell for a feature. Alternatively or additionally, the first configuration may include cell status parameters associated with the at least one cell for a feature. In this way, new feature characteristics including access control, synchronization, coverage variation and propagation delay may be considered to support OD-SIB1 in 6G.

[0065] Although some aspects of the present disclosure are described regarding NTN, it should be understood that some embodiments of the present disclosure may also be associated with other features, such as RedCap, air-to-groun (ATG) , NES, Sensing or ISAC (Integrated Sensing and Communication) , token-based communication, Aerial / UAV communication, etc.

[0066] FIG. 1 illustrates an example of a wireless communications system 100 that supports on-demand SIB1 in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The wireless communications system 100 may include one or more network entities 102 (also referred to as network equipment (NE) ) , one or more UEs 104, a core network 106, and a packet data network 108. The wireless communications system 100 may support various radio access technologies. In some implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 4G network, such as an LTE network or an LTE-advanced (LTE-A) network. In some other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 5G network, such as an NR network. In some other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 6G network, such as an 6GR network. In other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a combination of a 5G network and a 6G network, or other suitable radio access technology including institute of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) 802.11 (Wi-Fi) , IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) , IEEE 802.20. The wireless communications system 100 may support radio access technologies beyond 5G. Additionally, the wireless communications system 100 may support technologies, such as time division multiple access (TDMA) , frequency division multiple access (FDMA) , or code division multiple access (CDMA) , etc.

[0067] The one or more network entities 102 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region to form the wireless communications system 100. One or more of the network entities 102 described herein may be or include or may be referred to as a network node, a base station, a network element, a radio access network (RAN) , a base transceiver station, an access point, a NodeB, an eNodeB (eNB) , a next-generation NodeB (gNB) , a 6G NB, or other suitable terminology. A network entity 102 and a UE 104 may communicate via a communication link 110, which may be a wireless or wired connection. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may perform wireless communication (e.g., receive signaling, transmit signaling) over a Uu interface.

[0068] A network entity 102 may provide a geographic coverage area 112 for which the network entity 102 may support services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area 112. For example, a network entity 102 and a UE 104 may support wireless communication of signals related to services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) according to one or multiple radio access technologies. In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be moveable, for example, a satellite associated with a non-terrestrial network. In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas 112 associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 112 may be associated with different network entities 102. Information and signals described herein may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, and chips that may be referenced throughout the description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.

[0069] The one or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a remote unit, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an internet-of-things (IoT) device, an internet-of-everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples. In some implementations, a UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communications system 100. In some other implementations, a UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communications system 100.

[0070] The one or more UEs 104 may be devices in different forms or having different capabilities. Some examples of UEs 104 are illustrated in FIG. 1. A UE 104 may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as the network entities 102, other UEs 104, or network equipment (e.g., the core network 106, the packet data network 108, a relay device, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or another network equipment) , as shown in FIG. 1. Additionally, or alternatively, a UE 104 may support communication with other network entities 102 or UEs 104, which may act as relays in the wireless communications system 100.

[0071] A UE 104 may also be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link 114. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface.

[0072] A network entity 102 may support communications with the core network 106, or with another network entity 102, or both. For example, a network entity 102 may interface with the core network 106 through one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The network entities 102 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or another network interface) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., between the network entities 102) . In some other implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 106) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission-reception points (TRPs) . In an example, the network entity 102 may be the satellite, there may be full or part of an eNB / gNB on board. A communication link 110 between the satellite 102 and the UE 104, a communication link 110 between the satellite 102 and a BS 102, and a communication link 116 between the BS 102 and the core network 106 may be used for the NTN transparent mode. A communication link 110 between the satellite 102 and the UE 104, and a communication link 116 between the satellite 102 (with BS on board) and the core network 106 may be used for the NTN regenerative mode.

[0073] In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be configured in a disaggregated architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack physically or logically distributed among two or more network entities 102, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open radio access network (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) , or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN) ) . For example, a network entity 102 may include one or more of a CU, a DU, a radio unit (RU) , a RAN intelligent controller (RIC) (e.g., a near-real time RIC (Near-RT RIC) , a non-real time RIC (Non-RT RIC) ) , a service management and orchestration (SMO) system, or any combination thereof.

[0074] An RU may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , or a transmission reception point (TRP) . One or more components of the network entities 102 in a disaggregated RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entities 102 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 of a disaggregated RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., a virtual CU (VCU) , a virtual DU (VDU) , a virtual RU (VRU) ) .

[0075] Split of functionality between a CU, a DU, and an RU may be flexible and may support different functionalities depending upon which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, radio frequency functions, and any combinations thereof) are performed at a CU, a DU, or an RU. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between a CU and a DU such that the CU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the DU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. In some implementations, the CU may host upper protocol layer (e.g., a layer 3 (L3) , a layer 2 (L2) ) functionality and signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) , service data adaption protocol (SDAP) , packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) ) . The CU may be connected to one or more DUs or RUs, and the one or more DUs or RUs may host lower protocol layers, such as a layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or an L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU 160.

[0076] Additionally, or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between a DU and an RU such that the DU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the RU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU may support one or multiple different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs) . In some implementations, a functional split between a CU and a DU, or between a DU and an RU may be within a protocol layer (e.g., some functions for a protocol layer may be performed by one of a CU, a DU, or an RU, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by a different one of the CU, the DU, or the RU) .

[0077] A CU may be functionally split further into CU control plane (CU-CP) and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. A CU may be connected to one or more DUs via a midhaul communication link (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u) , and a DU may be connected to one or more RUs via a fronthaul communication link (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface) . In some implementations, a midhaul communication link or a fronthaul communication link may be implemented in accordance with an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 102 that are in communication via such communication links.

[0078] The core network 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , or a 6G core (6GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF)) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as registration management, mobility management, connection management, access authentication / authorization, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more network entities 102 associated with the core network 106.

[0079] The core network 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the core network 106 via a network entity 102. The core network 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the core network 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the core network 106) .

[0080] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0081] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0082] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0083] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0084] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0085] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0086] FIG. 2 illustrates an example signalling procedure 200 supporting on-demand SIB1 in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 200 may involve the UE 104 and the base station 102. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 2 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. It is to be understood that process 200 may further include additional blocks not shown and / or omit some shown blocks, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0103] Alternatively or additionally, the cell status parameters may include at least one reject indication for OD-SIB1 request. Each of the at least one reject indication for OD-SIB1 request may be associated with one or more of the at least one cell. In some examples, the at least one reject indication may include one reject indication for the at least one cell. In some alternative examples, each reject indication may be associated with a respective one of the at least one cell. In some alternative examples, each reject indication may be associated with a cell subset (e.g., a cell list) among the at least one cell. In some examples, the rejection indication may be a negative acknowledgement (NACK) or a negative flag for the request of OD-SIB1 transmission. The rejection indication may be carried in RAR or in a response of PUR or CG-SDT.

[0104] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may determine the association between the first configuration 206 and the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration. In some examples, the association between the first configuration 206 and the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration may be determined based on that the first configuration 206 and at least one of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration or at least one index of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration are indicated in a SIB other than SIB1. In some examples, the association between the first configuration 206 and the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration may be determined based on that the first configuration 206 and at least one of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration or at least one index of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration are indicated in a synchronization signal block (SSB) In some examples, the association between the first configuration 206 and the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration may be determined based on that the first configuration 206 and at least one of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration or at least one index of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration are indicated in a master information block (MIB) In some examples, a second part of the SIB1 is on-demand, and the association between the first configuration 206 and the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration may be determined based on that the first configuration 206 and at least one of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration or at least one index of the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration are indicated in a first part of the SIB1. In some examples, parameters in the first configuration may be indicated together with cell ID (s) of associated cell (s) , e.g., when the first configuration and OD-SIB1 configuration are indicated separately.

[0105] In some embodiments, the first configuration 206 may be indicated together or separately with the at least one OD-SIB1 configuration. In some examples, the access control parameters and / or synchronization parameters and / or cell status parameters may be indicated separately. The UE 104 may perform at least one OD-SIB1 related operation based on the first configuration 206.

[0106] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may trigger an OD-SIB1 request transmission to a cell or skipping triggering an OD-SIB1 request transmission to a cell based on the first configuration 206. In some examples, the cell may be associated with a further base station other than the base station 102. When triggering an OD-SIB1 request transmission in the cell, the UE 104 may transmit an OD-SIB1 request to the further base station via a PUR or a CG-SDT or a MSG1. In other words, for assisted OD-SIB1, a PUR or a CG-SDT or a MSG1 may be used for SIB1 request. In some alternative examples, the cell may be associated with the base station 102. When triggering an OD-SIB1 request transmission in the cell, the UE 104 may transmit an OD-SIB1 request to the base station 102 via a PUR or a CG-SDT. In other words, standalone OD-SIB1 may be supported, and a PUR or a CG-SDT may be used for SIB1 request. In some embodiments, the UE 104 may camp on a cell, or triggering cell reselection, or prioritizing a cell or de-prioritizing a cell based on the first configuration 206.

[0107] In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may trigger an OD-SIB1 request transmission in the cell in case that the UE supports or prefers the feature in the cell based on the access control parameters. In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may camp on the cell in case that the UE supports or prefers the feature in the cell based on the access control parameters. In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may prioritize at least one other cell that enables the same feature in case that the UE supports or prefers the feature in the cell based on the access control parameters. For example, for an NTN feature, if the UE 104 supports NTN or prefers NTN access, or the NTN cell is not barred, the UE 104 may determine whether to trigger OD-SIB1 request (e.g., whether the cell is barred for NTN access) based on the NTN access control information associated with the OD-SIB1 configuration.

[0108] In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may skip triggering an OD-SIB1 request transmission in the cell in case that the UE does not support or prefer the feature in the cell based on the access control parameters. In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may trigger cell reselection in case that the UE does not support or prefer the feature in a camped cell based on the access control parameters. In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may de-prioritize at least one other cell that enables the same feature in case that the UE does not support or prefer the feature in the cell. For example, for an NTN feature, if the UE 104 does not support NTN or prefers TN access, or the NTN cell is barred e.g., due to heavy load, before triggering OD-SIB1 request, the UE 104 may ignore / preclude an NTN cell with OD-SIB1 or all NTN cell with OD-SIB1 or all NTN cells for cell reselection or trigger cell reselection if the UE 104has camped in the NTN cell based on the NTN access control information associated with the OD-SIB1 configuration.

[0109] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may perform a synchronization operation to a node for transmitting an OD-SIB1 request to the node based on the first configuration 206 (e.g., based on the synchronization parameters included in the synchronization parameters) . In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may calculate and compensate a timing advance to be compensated based on trajectory information of the node. In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may compensate a timing advance indicated in minimum timing advance information or reference timing advance information associated with a cell of the node. In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may adjust a compensated timing advance indicated in a timing advance adjustment information associated with a cell of the node.

[0110] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may determine a time duration for reception of a requested SIB1 in a cell based on the first configuration 206 (e.g., based on the cell status parameters included in the synchronization parameters) .

[0111] In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may delay starting of an attempt for reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell in coordination with a start of a RAR window. The start of the RAR window is delayed based on minimum timing advance information or reference timing advance information or timing advance adjustment information associated with the cell. For example, the UE 104 may determine the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell with a configured offset after the start of RAR window, and the start of RAR window is delayed with initial UE-gNB RTT derived from NTN synchronization information.

[0112] Alternatively, the UE 104 may delay starting of an attempt for reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell in coordination with a start of a PUR reception window or a CG-SDT reception window. The PUR reception window or the CG-SDT reception window is delayed based on a propagation delay between the UE and the base station 102 or a further base station associated with the cell. For example, the UE 104 may determine the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell with a configured offset after the start of a reception window other than RAR window, e.g., response window for OD-SIB1 request transmission via CG-SDT or PUR, if CG-SDT or PUR is configured for requesting OD-SIB1.

[0113] Alternatively, the UE 104 may delay starting of an attempt for reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell based on a propagation delay between the UE and the base station 102 or a further base station associated with the cell. For example, the UE 104 may determine the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell with a derived or configured offset no larger than initial UE-gNB RTT after transmission of the OD-SIB1 request e.g., via Msg1 or a configured UL grant.

[0114] In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may stop reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell before or upon a stopping serving time of the cell. The stopping serving time is included in the cell status parameters or determined based on the cell status parameters.

[0115] Alternatively, the UE 104 may stop reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell before or upon a switch start time of the cell or a switch end time of the cell. The switch start time or the switch end time is included in the cell status parameters or determined based on the cell status parameters.

[0116] Alternatively, the UE 104 may stop reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell before or upon a coverage interruption start time of the cell. The coverage interruption start time is included in the cell status parameters or determined based on the cell status parameters.

[0117] Alternatively, the UE 104 may stop reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell before or upon an expiry time of trajectory information of a node associated with the cell. The expiry time is included in the cell status parameters or determined based on the cell status parameters.

[0118] Alternatively, the UE 104 may stop reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell based on a reject indication for OD-SIB1 request for the cell. The reject indication is included in the cell status parameters. For example, the UE 104 may determine the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell as reception of a NACK or rejection for the request of OD-SIB1 transmission.

[0119] In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may stop further reception of requested OD-SIB1 in the cell based on a successful reception of a requested OD-SIB1 from the base station 102 or a further base station associated with the cell.

[0120] With some embodiments of the present disclosure, the configuration and UE behaviours to support OD-SIB1 in 6G are designed with considerations on some feature-specific characteristics including access control, synchronization, coverage variation and propagation delay.

[0121] Hereinbefore, some embodiments of on-demand SIB1 are described in general terms. Hereinafter, some implementations of on-demand SIB1 will be further detailed in regard to various specific cases.

[0122] FIG. 3 illustrates an example implementation of a procedure 300 supporting on-demand SIB1 in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The procedure300 in FIG. 3 may be regarded as a specific example of the procedure 200 shown in FIG. 2. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 3 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. It is to be understood that procedure in FIG. 3 may further include additional blocks not shown and / or omit some shown blocks, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0123] As shown in FIG. 3, at step 301 or step 303 or step 306 or step 309, the UE 104 receives OD-SIB1 configuration from the base station 102. At step 311, the UE 104 transmits an OD-SIB1 request. In some examples, as shown in FIG. 3, the OD-SIB1 request is transmitted to the base station 102, i.e., the OD-SIB1 is standalone OD-SIB1. In some alternative examples, the OD-SIB1 request is transmitted to a further base station different from the base station 102, i.e., the OD-SIB1 is an assisted OD-SIB1. At step 312 or step 314, the UE 104 may receive OD-SIB1 transmission from the base station 102 or the further base station. Alternatively, the OD-SIB1 request may be rejected.

[0124] In block 302, at step 303, the base station 102 indicates, to the UE 104, NTN access control information associated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration for at least one cell. The associated NTN access control information may include at least one of: NTN cell barring indication; NTN network type indication; NTN payload identity (e.g., satellite ID) ; or NTN-specific parameter (e.g., ephemeris) .

[0125] In some examples, the NTN access control information and the associated OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration or the index of the associated OD-SIB1 (request) configuration may be included in other SIB except MIB and SIB1 (e.g., SIB26) . For example, for assisted OD-SIB1, NTN access control information (e.g., NTN cell barring indication, NTN network type indication, satellite ID) may be indicated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration or the index of the associated OD-SIB1 (request) configuration in other SIB (e.g., SIB26) .

[0126] Alternatively, the NTN access control information and the associated OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration or the index of the associated OD-SIB1 (request) configuration may be included in the OD-SIB1 uplink configuration in SSB configuration; in the OD-SIB1 uplink configuration in MIB; or in OD-SIB1 uplink configuration in minimum SIB1 or a minimum part of SIB1 that is always broadcast. For example, for standalone OD-SIB1, NTN access control information may be indicated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration in specified uplink configuration via SSB (e.g., associated with an index of OD-SIB1 configurations) or MIB (depending on how standalone OD-SIB1 scheme will be designed) or in a minimum SIB1 or a minimum part of SIB1 (in case SIB1 is split into always-on part and on-demand part) .

[0127] At step 304, UE may determine at least one operation regarding OD-SIB1 request based on the associated NTN access control information received in step 303.

[0128] If the UE does not support NTN or prefers TN access, or the NTN cell is barred e.g., due to heavy load, before triggering OD-SIB1 request (e.g., a request for an entire OD-SIB1, or for the remaining part of SIB1) , based on the NTN access control information associated to the OD-SIB1 configuration, the UE may ignore / preclude an NTN cell with OD-SIB1, all NTN cell with OD-SIB1 or all NTN cells for cell reselection e.g., for a certain duration, or the UE may trigger cell reselection if it has camped in the NTN cell.

[0129] If the UE supports NTN or prefers NTN access, or the NTN cell is not barred, based on the NTN access control information associated to the OD-SIB1 configuration, the UE may determine whether to trigger OD-SIB1 request (e.g., whether the cell is barred for NTN access) , including a request for an entire OD-SIB1, or for the remaining part of SIB1.

[0130] With step 303, UE is made aware of NTN access type or barring before requesting for OD-SIB1, either for network-type-based (or feature-based) access control if NTN is optional, or for UE access preference if NTN is mandatory (e.g., choose for TN or NTN access) . With step 304, UE behavior upon awareness of feature-specific (e.g., NTN) access control information before requesting OD-SIB1 is designed. With block 302, unnecessary camping or unnecessary OD-SIB1 acquiring may be avoided, thus reducing communication latency and improving communication performance.

[0131] Alternatively, in block 313, at step 314, the base station 102 may indicate UE NTN access control information in requested SIB1 for at least one cell. The associated NTN access control information may include at least one of: NTN cell barring indication; NTN network type indication; NTN payload identity (e.g., satellite ID) ; or NTN-specific parameter (e.g., ephemeris) . For both assisted and standalone OD-SIB1, NTN access control information (e.g., NTN cell barring indication, NTN network type indication, satellite ID) may be indicated in SIB1 as specified in legacy 5G NTN.

[0132] At step 315, UE may determine at least one operation regarding OD-SIB1 reception based on the associated NTN access control information received in step 314. After reception of OD-SIB1, the UE may determine whether to stay in the NTN cell or trigger cell reselection based on the NTN access control information in the received OD-SIB1. If the UE does not support NTN or prefers TN access, after reception of OD-SIB1, the UE may trigger cell reselection based on the NTN access control information in the received OD-SIB1. If the UE supports NTN or prefers NTN access, after reception of OD-SIB1, the UE may determine to stay in the NTN cell.

[0133] With step 314, UE is made aware of NTN access type or barring after receiving OD-SIB1. With step 315, UE behavior upon awareness of feature-specific (e.g., NTN) access control information after receiving OD-SIB1 is designed. With block 302, on-demand SIB1 in NTN is supported with small specification impact.

[0134] In block 305, at step 306, the base station 102 indicates, to the UE 104, UL synchronization information (or assistance information for UL synchronization) associated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration for at least one cell.

[0135] In some examples, the associated UL synchronization information may include ephemeris and optionally related information (e.g., common TA to be compensated for the feeder link, epoch time and validity duration) . For example, ephemeris and related information or their indexes  / IDs, are associated with OD-SIB1 configuration, in case UE is still required to have UE position and ephemeris information for UL synchronization to access NTN.

[0136] In some examples, UL synchronization related information is associated with OD-SIB1 configuration, in case UL synchronization to access NTN is guaranteed by network indication and adjustment. For example, the UL synchronization related information may be a minimum or reference TA or delay that shall be applied by UE when requesting OD-SIB1 in a cell, e.g., using random access, PUR-like or SDT-like procedures. In an example, UL synchronization related information may include the reference / minimum TA to be compensated for the service link; or reference / minimum TA to be compensated for both the service link and the feeder link.

[0137] In some examples, UL synchronization information and the associated OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration or the index of the associated OD-SIB1 (request) configuration may be included in the other SIB except MIB and SIB1 (e.g., SIB19 or SIB26) .

[0138] For example, for assisted OD-SIB1, assistance information for UL synchronization (e.g., ephemeris, common TA, reference / minimum TA, epoch time and validity duration) may be indicated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration e.g., together in OD-SIB1-specific SIB (SIB26) or separately in NTN-specific SIB (SIB19) with association to the OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration.

[0139] In an example, if assistance information for UL synchronization is indicated in NTN-specific SIB (SIB19) , the association between assistance information for UL synchronization and OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration may be implemented by the same parameter shared between SIBs (e.g., cell ID) . In another example, if assistance information for UL synchronization is indicated in NTN-specific SIB (SIB19) , the association between assistance information for UL synchronization and OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration may be implemented by an index of OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration in the NTN-specific SIB (SIB19) . In another example, if assistance information for UL synchronization is indicated in NTN-specific SIB (SIB19) , the association between assistance information for UL synchronization and OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration may be implemented by an index of assistance information for UL synchronization in the OD-SIB1-specific SIB (SIB26) .

[0140] Alternatively, the UL synchronization information and the associated OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration or the index of the associated OD-SIB1 (request) configuration may be included in the OD-SIB1 uplink configuration in SSB configuration; in the OD-SIB1 uplink configuration in MIB; or in OD-SIB1 uplink configuration in minimum SIB1 or a minimum part of SIB1 that is always broadcast.

[0141] For example, for standalone OD-SIB1, assistance information for UL synchronization may be indicated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration in specified uplink configuration via SSB (e.g., associated with an index of OD-SIB1 configurations) . Alternatively, for standalone OD-SIB1, assistance information for UL synchronization may be indicated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration in specified uplink configuration via MIB (depending on how standalone OD-SIB1 scheme will be designed) . Alternatively, for standalone OD-SIB1, assistance information for UL synchronization may be indicated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration in specified uplink configuration via a minimum SIB1 or a minimum part of SIB1 (in case SIB1 is split into always-on part and on-demand part) .

[0142] With block 305, UL synchronization for requesting OD-SIB1 may be ensured.

[0143] In block 308, at step 309, the base station 102 indicates, to the UE 104, cell status information associated with OD-SIB1 configuration or OD-SIB1 request configuration for at least one cell. At step 210, the UE 104 determines the time duration for OD-SIB1 reception based on the cell status information. The block 308 may be performed before transmitting OD-SIB1 request at step 311, or upon receiving OD-SIB1 request at step 311, or upon receiving OD-SIB1 transmission at step 312 or 314.

[0144] In some examples, the UE determines the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell. In an example, the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as with a configured offset after the start of RAR window. The start of RAR window is delayed with initial UE-gNB RTT based on UE calculation and network indication, or based on the UL synchronization related information (e.g., a minimum or reference TA or delay) . In another example, the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as with a derived or configured offset no larger than initial UE-gNB RTT after transmission of the OD-SIB1 request e.g., via Msg1 or a configured UL grant. In other words, the OD-SIB1 reception window may be decouple from the RAR window. In another example, the start of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as with a configured offset after the start of a reception window other than RAR window, e.g., response window for OD-SIB1 request transmission via CG-SDT or PUR, if CG-SDT or PUR is configured for requesting OD-SIB1.

[0145] In some examples, the UE determines the stop / end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell. In an example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a cell stop serving time of the OD-SIB1 cell. In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a start time of satellite switch with re-sync (i.e., start serving time of the upcoming satellite) . In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a end time of satellite switch with re-sync (i.e., start serving time of the upcoming satellite + overlap duration) . In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a start time of coverage interruption in discontinuous coverage. In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a ephemeris expiry (determined by ephemeris epoch time and validity duration) . In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a reception of a NACK or reject to the request of OD-SIB1 transmitted, e.g., in RAR. In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a successful OD-SIB1 reception. In another example, the end of the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined as a the earliest one of configured OD-SIB1 reception window end and at least one of the above.

[0146] With block 308, the OD-SIB1 reception window in an NTN cell may be determined, ensuring alignment between UE monitoring and gNB transmission of SIB1, thus reducing resource overhead, power consumption and communication latency.

[0147] FIG. 4 illustrates an example of a device 400 that supports on-demand SIB1 in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The device 400 may be an example of a UE 104 or a base station 102 as described herein. The device 400 may support wireless communication with one or more network entities 102, UEs 104, or any combination thereof. The device 400 may include components for bi-directional communications including components for transmitting and receiving communications, such as a processor 402, a memory 404, a transceiver 406, and, optionally, an I / O controller 408. These components may be in electronic communication or otherwise coupled (e.g., operatively, communicatively, functionally, electronically, electrically) via one or more interfaces (e.g., buses) .

[0148] The processor 402, the memory 404, the transceiver 406, or various combinations thereof or various components thereof may be examples of means for performing various aspects of the present disclosure as described herein. For example, the processor 402, the memory 404, the transceiver 406, or various combinations or components thereof may support a method for performing one or more of the operations described herein.

[0149] In some implementations, the processor 402, the memory 404, the transceiver 406, or various combinations or components thereof may be implemented in hardware (e.g., in communications management circuitry) . The hardware may include a processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, a discrete gate or transistor logic, discrete hardware components, or any combination thereof configured as or otherwise supporting a means for performing the functions described in the present disclosure. In some implementations, the processor 402 and the memory 404 coupled with the processor 402 may be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein (e.g., executing, by the processor 402, instructions stored in the memory 404) .
