Abstract

The invention relates to a device for holding a hair sleeve in place, comprising an elastic (scrunchie: elastic covered with fabric) located at the sleeve opening and intended to be inserted through a slit in order to secure the sleeve. The sleeve is made from silk satin, polyester satin, microfibre, or waterproof fabric.

Description Title of the invention: Sheath with functional elastic

[0001] Description: This device is a sleeve-sheath whose entrance is held by an elastic band and which has a lateral slit allowing the elastic band to pass through for its normal use.

[0002] This device is particularly useful as a hair accessory, made of polyester or silk satin, with the satin side facing inwards to protect hair from friction. It is also available in waterproof fabric to protect against pool / sea water or to contain hair products (oils, dyes, masks), and in a microfiber version for gentle drying or damp hair; it is reversible between microfiber and satin.

[0003] The device comprises, in a known manner, a tubular fabric sheath intended to be applied to the hair and an elastic band positioned at the opening of the sheath. The invention is characterized in that the sheath has a lateral slit configured to allow the elastic band to pass through, thus permitting its normal use while maintaining the sheath in position around the hair.

[0004] Furthermore, the sheath fabric is chosen from silk satin, polyester satin, or microfiber. The sheath is made of waterproof fabric. The device includes a scrunchie-style elastic band covered in fabric. The device includes a decorative fastening method chosen from magnets, snap fasteners, or sewn-on buttons.

[0009] [Fig.3] 1. An elastic opening located at the entrance of the sheath, allowing easy insertion of the sheath onto the hair.

[0011] 3. An elastic band (scrunchie) covered with a wide fabric, inserted into the side slit to hold the sheath in optimal position around the hair.

[0012] The cover can be made from different materials#: satin fabrics (silk, polyester), microfibers, waterproof fabrics and materials, nets or mesh, possibly reversible for decorative purposes, or plastic materials capable of retaining moisture, hair products (masks / treatments, oils, colorings) or protecting against chlorine / sea salt (e.g., swimming cap).

[0013] Decorative versions are planned, equipped with a means of attaching and changing the decoration (bows, pendants, ribbons) using magnets, snaps or buttons.

[0014] A version with wider openings, made of waterproof or standard fabric, is intended for animals (e.g. horses#: protects horse tail against summer dermatitis and mosquitoes).

[0015] The device protects hair from daily friction (scarves, clothing) depending on the season (summer, autumn, winter) and in different environments (home, transport, motorcycle, sleep, indoors, outdoors), thus preventing#:

[0019] 2) With one hand, hold the sleeve / sheath by the scrunchie while placing it on the other hand.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS Claims received by the International Bureau on April 28, 2026 (28.04.2026)

1. Support device comprising: • a tubular sheath (3) forming a closed envelope at one end, intended to surround and protect a length of material over its entire circumference up to its distal end; • a single elastic band (1) forming the opening of the sheath (3) at the opposite end, said elastic band (1) constituting the only means of holding the sheath around said material; • a single lateral slot(2) provided in the wall of the sheath (3), configured to allow simultaneously the passage of said material into the sheath (3) during placement and the free, bidirectional and reversible passage of said elastic (1), so that the elastic (1) can be used in the same way as a conventional elastic.

2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the fabric of the sheath (3) is chosen from silk satin or polyester satin, the satin side being oriented towards the inside of the sheath (3), or from a mesh or a microfiber.

3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the sheath (3) is made of waterproof fabric.

4. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it comprises a scrunchie-type elastic (1) covered with a fabric.

5. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it comprises a decorative fastening means selected from magnets, snap fasteners or sewn buttons.
