Oily Hair Cosmetic Composition
[0001] The present invention relates to an oily hair cosmetic composition.
[0002] Oily hair cosmetics having treatment effects, styling properties and the like are known in the art. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses that even for hair damaged by sunlight, daily hair care activities and the like, the hair cosmetic has excellent spreadability and compatibility when wet after towel-drying and when dry, can provide sufficient hair setting property, smoothness, good finger combing performance and gloss, and the hairstyle is not easily collapsed even after combing with hands or when the hair is vibrated, and furthermore, there is no stickiness from application to finishing. As such hair cosmetic, a leave-in type hair cosmetic containing a C12-30 iso fatty acid or anteiso fatty acid, or a salt thereof, and a predetermined modified organopolysiloxane, with a water content of 5 mass% or less, is proposed. Patent Document 2 proposes a hair cosmetic that can not only obtain a styling effect but also achieve a restyling effect while imparting hair treatment effects such as smoothness, moist feeling and gloss to hair, which contains a drying oil having an iodine value of 145 or more, dimethicone, and an ester oil that is liquid at 20°C.

[0005] Incidentally, hair with a history of chemical treatments such as hair coloring, bleaching, and perming (damaged hair) has the problem of feeling stiff. However, the oily hair cosmetics described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 still had room for further improvement in their effect of imparting softness to damaged hair. Also, when hair coloring or bleaching is applied to only a part of the hair, such as in highlights, or when time has passed since chemical treatments such as hair coloring or perming, the hair contains a mixture of healthy hair without a history of chemical treatment and damaged hair with a history of chemical treatment. When oily hair cosmetics are applied to such hair, there is a problem that a difference in softness occurs between the healthy hair portion and the damaged hair portion, resulting in an uneven feel of the hair. Furthermore, because oily hair cosmetics contain a large amount of oily components, there was also the problem that the hair was less manageable to comb through when it dried after application, and that the hair tended to become sticky after drying.
[0006] The present invention relates to an oily hair cosmetic composition that can impart softness to damaged hair with a history of chemical treatment, and even when applied to hair containing a mixture of healthy hair without a history of chemical treatment and the aforementioned damaged hair, it provides uniform softness throughout the hair, allows for smooth combing during hair drying, and reduces stickiness after drying.
[0007] The present inventors have found that an oily hair cosmetic composition containing liquid branched-chain fatty acids and branched-chain hydrocarbons with 15 or fewer carbon atoms in predetermined ranges at 25°C can solve the above problem.
[0008] According to the present invention, it is possible to impart softness to damaged hair with a history of chemical treatment, and even when applied to hair containing a mixture of healthy hair without a history of chemical treatment and the aforementioned damaged hair, a uniform softness can be obtained throughout the hair, the hair is easy to comb through when drying, and the hair is less sticky after drying.
[0009] [Definitions] In this specification, "hair" mainly refers to human head hair, but also includes hair that has been detached from a human head. "Hair with a history of chemical treatment" (hereinafter also referred to as "damaged hair") means hair that has undergone one or more chemical treatments selected from the group consisting of hair color, bleach, powder bleach, and perm treatment, and typically refers to hair that has undergone the aforementioned chemical treatments one or more times and has also been repeatedly washed. [0011] [Oily Hair Cosmetic Composition] The oily hair cosmetic composition of the present invention contains the following components (A) and (B): (A) a branched-chain fatty acid that is liquid at 25°C (B) a branched-chain hydrocarbon having 15 or fewer carbon atoms, wherein the content of component (A) in the composition is 0.001% by mass or more and 2% by mass or less, and the content of component (B) in the composition is 20% by mass or more. The oily hair cosmetic composition of the present invention, having the above configuration, can impart softness to damaged hair with a history of chemical treatment, and even when applied to hair where healthy hair without a history of chemical treatment and the damaged hair are mixed, uniform softness can be obtained throughout the hair (hereinafter also referred to as "improvement of uniformity of hair softness"), the hair is easy to comb through when drying, and the hair is less sticky after drying.
[0012] The reason why the oily hair cosmetic composition of the present invention exhibits the above effects is not entirely clear, but it is presumed to be as follows. When hair is damaged by chemical treatment, it becomes stiff to the touch, so an effect that softens and imparts softness to the hair is desired as a damage care effect of the oily hair cosmetic composition. As a hair damage care technology using an oily hair cosmetic composition, a method of modifying the hair surface with the oily hair cosmetic composition is common. In contrast, in the oily hair cosmetic composition of the present invention, component (A), which is a fatty acid that is liquid at room temperature and is a damage care component, is thought to penetrate into the inside of the hair and increase the fluidity of intercellular lipids, thereby providing a softening effect to damaged hair. Here, since component (A) is a fatty acid that is liquid at room temperature and has branched chains of a certain length, it is thought to easily penetrate into the inside of damaged hair but not easily penetrate into the inside of healthy hair. Therefore, the oily hair cosmetic composition of the present invention has a high softening effect on damaged hair but has little effect on the flexibility of healthy hair. Even when applied to hair containing a mixture of healthy and damaged hair, it is believed that a uniform softness can be obtained throughout the hair as a result.
[0013] When the amount of component (A) in the oily hair cosmetic composition is above a predetermined amount, it can effectively soften damaged hair. Conversely, when the amount of component (A) in the oily hair cosmetic composition is below a predetermined amount, the excess component (A) that did not penetrate into the hair remains on the hair surface in an appropriate amount, providing smoothness while resulting in a less sticky feel.

However, the mechanism of action of the present invention is not limited to the above.
[0015] <Component (A): Branched-chain fatty acid that is liquid at 25°C> The branched-chain fatty acid used as component (A) is liquid at 25°C. Component (A) may be either a saturated fatty acid or an unsaturated fatty acid, but is preferably a saturated fatty acid. From the viewpoint of imparting softness to damaged hair, improving the uniformity of hair softness, improving the manageability of hair when drying, and reducing stickiness of hair after drying, component (A) preferably contains branched-chain fatty acids having 8 or more carbon atoms, more preferably 12 or more, even more preferably 14 or more, and also preferably 24 or fewer carbon atoms, more preferably 20 or fewer, and even more preferably 18 or fewer. Furthermore, component (A) preferably contains branched-chain fatty acids having 8 to 24 carbon atoms, more preferably 12 to 20 carbon atoms, even more preferably 14 to 20 carbon atoms, and even more preferably 14 to 18 carbon atoms.

[0019] <Component (B): Branched-chain hydrocarbon with 15 or fewer carbon atoms> The branched-chain hydrocarbon with 15 or fewer carbon atoms used as component (B) has 15 or fewer carbon atoms, preferably 14 or fewer, more preferably 13 or fewer, and even more preferably 12 or fewer, from the viewpoint of improving the manageability of hair when drying, improving the uniformity of hair softness, and reducing stickiness of hair after drying. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the manageability of hair when drying, it preferably has 6 or more carbon atoms, more preferably 8 or more, and even more preferably 10 or more. And component (B) has 15 or fewer carbon atoms, preferably 6 to 15, more preferably 8 to 14, even more preferably 8 to 13, and even more preferably 10 to 12.

The viscosity of component (B) at 25°C is preferably 1 mPa·s to 12 mPa·s, more preferably 1 mPa·s to 10 mPa·s, even more preferably 1 mPa·s to 8 mPa·s, even more preferably 1 mPa·s to 5 mPa·s, and even more preferably 1.2 mPa·s to 3 mPa·s. The viscosity of component (B) can be measured at 25°C by the method described above.

The isododecane referred to here includes the component called "isododecane" in cosmetic labeling names. Furthermore, hydrogenated polyisobutene with 15 or fewer carbon atoms refers to ingredients with 15 or fewer carbon atoms among those labeled as "hydrogenated polyisobutene" in cosmetic labeling, but also includes ingredients labeled as "light isoparaffin" in quasi-drug labeling.

The component (B) contains 20% by mass or more of one or more selected from the group consisting of isododecane and hydrogenated polyisobutene having 15 or fewer carbon atoms, more preferably 30% by mass or more and 99.99% by mass or less, even more preferably 40% by mass or more and 99.9% by mass or less, even more preferably 50% by mass or more and 99.9% by mass or less, even more preferably 60% by mass or more and 99.9% by mass or less, even more preferably 70% by mass or more and 99.9% by mass or less, even more preferably 80% by mass or more and 99.5% by mass or less, even more preferably 85% by mass or more and 99.5% by mass or less, and even more preferably 90% by mass or more and 99.5% by mass or less.

Claims
1. An oily hair cosmetic composition comprising the following components (A) and (B): (A) a branched-chain fatty acid that is liquid at 25°C and (B) a branched-chain hydrocarbon having 15 or fewer carbon atoms, wherein the content of component (A) in the composition is 0.001% by mass or more and 2% by mass or less, and the content of component (B) in the composition is 20% by mass or more.
2. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to claim 1, wherein component (A) contains a branched-chain fatty acid having 12 to 20 carbon atoms.
3. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein component (A) comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of isopalmitic acid and isostearic acid.
4. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein component (B) comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of isododecane and hydrogenated polyisobutene having 15 or fewer carbon atoms.
5. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the mass ratio of component (B) to component (A) [(B) / (A)] is 10 or more and 2000 or less.
6. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, further comprising component (C): an ester that is liquid at 25°C, comprising an ester of a monovalent carboxylic acid having 3 to 25 carbon atoms and a monovalent to trivalent chain alcohol having 2 to 20 carbon atoms.
7. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to claim 6, wherein component (C) comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of a triester of a fatty acid having 8 to 25 carbon atoms and glycerin, an ester of a monovalent aromatic carboxylic acid having 7 to 25 carbon atoms and a monovalent chain alcohol having 8 to 20 carbon atoms, and an ester of a fatty acid having 8 to 25 carbon atoms and a monovalent chain alcohol having 2 to 20 carbon atoms.
8. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to claim 6 or 7, wherein component (C) comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of glyceryl tri-2-ethylhexanoate, macadamia seed oil, alkyl benzoate (C12-15), and isopropyl palmitate.
9. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 6 to 8, wherein the mass ratio of component (C) to component (A) [(C) / (A)] is 0.1 or more and 200 or less.
10. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 6 to 9, wherein component (A) contains 0.001% by mass or more and 2% by mass of one or more selected from the group consisting of isopalmitic acid and isostearic acid; component (B) contains 40% by mass or more of one or more selected from the group consisting of isododecane and hydrogenated polyisobutene having 15 or less carbon atoms; and component (C) contains 0.1% by mass or more and 15% by mass of one or more selected from the group consisting of glyceryl tri-2-ethylhexanoate, macadamia seed oil, alkyl benzoate (C12-15), and isopropyl palmitate.
11. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 1 to 10, further comprising component (D): modified silicone.
12. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to claim 11, wherein component (D) comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of bisalkyl (C30-45) amodimethicone, diphenylsiloxyphenyl trimethicone, and dimethiconol.
13. The oily hair cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein the water content in the oily hair cosmetic composition is 5% by mass or less.
14. A hair treatment method, the method comprising the following steps (I) and (II) in order, wherein there is no step of rinsing the hair between step (I) and step (II). Step (I) Step (II): Step of applying the oily hair cosmetic composition described in any one of claims 1 to 13 to the hair. Step (II): Step of drying the hair to which the oily hair cosmetic composition has been applied.
