Abstract

This electronic device may comprise: a communication circuit; a memory for storing instructions; and at least one processor including processing circuitry. The instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, may cause the electronic device to: receive a user input for controlling an external electronic device; identify whether a communication link is not established between the electronic device and the external electronic device; on the basis of identifying that the communication link is not established, broadcast an advertising packet including a control command, identification information about the external electronic device, and a connection request for establishing the communication link, and causing the external electronic device to provide a function corresponding to the control command before the communication link is established; and on the basis of identifying that the communication link has been established, transmit a packet including the control command to the external electronic device by means of the communication link.
