[0003] The present invention relates to a mounting plate for roof shingles which is used for attachment of roof equipment.
[0004] Background of the Invention
[0005] Roof shingles are a traditional and good roofing material for all types of pitched roofs. Shingles are often used on cabin roofs but are also a sensible roofing product for residential buildings, housing cooperatives, small houses and garages.
[0006] Each shingle plate has a surface with crushed slate granules that gives the roof a natural and decorative appearance and includes rustic variants and shingles with contours that enhance the shape and profile of the shingle pattern.
[0007] Roof shingles are mounted on a solid substrate of rough paneling with tongue and groove, roof boards, plywood, or similar.
[0008] Roof shingles have low weight and can also be mounted directly on old roofing felt or roof shingles when it is time to lay a new roof.
[0009] Purpose of the Present Invention
[0010] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a mounting plate for roof equipment, wherein the mounting plate is particularly adapted for use in roofing systems that use shingle plates.
[0011] The fit of the mounting plate may be adapted to the adhesive field system on shingle plates and may be adapted to specific suppliers of roof shingle systems.
[0012] The mounting plate also has a recess at the rear edge that contributes to lower construction height and increased sealing.Furthermore, the mounting plate has a mechanical fastening that is concealed and that accommodates joints in board roofing, which provides more fastening options.
[0013] The roof equipment may be any roof equipment that is mounted on a roof, such as snow guards, ladders, rails, etc.
[0014] The mounting plate may be designed and have a strength that also provides the possibility of using it for attachment of fall protection equipment. Fall protection systems include fall protection solutions for travel on ladders, along ridges, and on roof walkways.
[0015] The mounting plate may also be used in connection with solar panel systems on roofs, preferably with integrated fall protection solutions.
[0016] Summary of the Invention
[0017] According to the invention, a mounting plate for roof shingles is provided, comprising a plate-shaped body with a first plate part and a second plate part, wherein the first plate part is arranged for attachment to a substrate on a roof, such as a roof board, roof decking, or similar, and the second plate part is arranged to be positioned overlying a shingle plate and comprises an upwardly projecting fastening bolt for attachment of roof equipment. The plate-shaped body comprises a longitudinal fold that forms a bend between the first plate part and the second plate part, whereby the first plate part is recessed relative to the second plate part.

[0025] Description of Preferred Embodiments of the Invention
[0026] Figures 1-4 show respectively front view, side view, top view, and perspective figures of the mounting plate 10 according to the invention.
[0027] The mounting plate 10 is intended for use on roof shingles and comprises a plateshaped body with a first plate part 12 and a second plate part 14. The first plate part 12 is attached to a substrate for a roof, such as a roof board, roof decking, or similar (not shown), and the second plate part is placed overlying a shingle plate 40 (fig. 6-8) and comprises an upwardly projecting fastening bolt 22 for attachment of roof equipment.
[0028] The plate-shaped body comprises a longitudinal fold 16 that forms a bend between the first plate part 12 and the second plate part 14. The fold 16 causes the first plate part 12 to be recessed relative to the second plate part 14, as particularly shown in fig. 2.
[0029] The first and the second plate parts 12,14 extend in corresponding directions from the fold 16 in different parallel and horizontal planes. The first and the second plate parts 12,14 may thus be said to be parallel-offset relative to each other at different heights (planes).
[0030] The bend of the fold 16 between the first plate part 12 and the second plate part 14 preferably has a height that substantially corresponds to the thickness of a shingle plate 40. The mounting plate 10 may thus be mounted as shown for example in fig.
[0031] 6, in the sense that the first plate part 12 is mounted to the roof substrate in front ofthe shingle plate 40, while the second plate part 14 is mounted on top of the shingle plate 40.
[0032] The first plate part 12 comprises holes in the form of openings 18 for receiving fastening screws 20. In the shown embodiment, three fastening screws 20 are used, but more or fewer may naturally be used. The fastening screws 20 are screwed into the substrate so that the mounting plate 10 is held firmly in place.
[0033] The second plate part 14 may also comprise holes for fastening screws (not shown). However, both the first and the second plate parts 12,14 may comprise additional holes to reduce the weight of the mounting plate 10.
[0034] As shown, the first plate part 12 has a longitudinal shape and the second plate part 14 has a tapering portion, nearly trapezoidal in shape. The shape of the mounting plate 10 is preferably adapted to adhesive fields 44 on the shingle plate 40 (fig. 6).
[0035] The fastening bolt 22 is arranged in a lower portion of the tapering part, and projects upward from the lower plate part 14 after mounting. The shingle plates 40 comprise one or more slots 42 for receiving the fastening bolt 22. As shown for example in fig.
[0036] 7, a second shingle plate 40' is laid over the first shingle plate 40 so that the fastening bolt 22 projects up through the slot 42 of the shingle plate 40'.
[0037] In one embodiment, the fastening bolt 22 comprises a bolt with a square-shaped portion 22a at the bolt head. The fastening bolt 22 is inserted from the underside of the mounting plate 10 through a square-shaped opening 28 in the lower plate part 14 for receiving the square-shaped portion 22a of the fastening bolt 22, so that the fastening bolt 22 is prevented from rotating. The fastening bolt 22 may also be attached in other rotation-preventing ways.
[0038] The second plate part 14 may be equipped with a reinforcement 30, wherein the square-shaped opening 28 is provided in the reinforcement 30, as shown in fig. 4.
[0039] The fastening bolt 22 is mounted to the second plate part 14 by means of a nut 24.For attachment of the roof equipment, the fastening bolt 22 may be equipped with correspondingly arranged fastening nuts 26, preferably with washers, wherein the roof equipment may be attached between the nuts 26 which are then tightened against each other.
Claims
Claims1. A mounting plate (10) for roof shingles, characterized by comprising a plateshaped body with a first plate part (12) and a second plate part (14), wherein the first plate part (12) is arranged for attachment to a substrate on a roof, such as a roof board, roof decking, or similar,the second plate part (14) is arranged to be positioned overlying a shingle plate (40) and comprises an upwardly projecting fastening bolt (22) for attachment of roof equipment, andthe plate-shaped body comprises a longitudinal fold (16) that forms a bend between the first plate part (12) and the second plate part (14), whereby the first plate part (12) is recessed relative to the second plate part (14).
2. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1, wherein the first plate part (12) comprises hole-shaped openings (18) for receiving fastening screws (20).

The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1 , wherein the bend of the fold (16) between the first plate part (12) and the second plate part (14) is arranged to cause the first and the second plate parts (12,14) to be paralleloffset relative to each other and extend in corresponding directions in their respective horizontal planes.
4. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1 , wherein the bend of the fold (16) between the first plate part (12) and the second plate part (14) has a height that substantially corresponds to the thickness of a shingle plate (40).
5. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1, wherein the first plate part (12) has a longitudinal shape and the second plate part (14) has a tapering portion, wherein the fastening bolt (22) is arranged in a lower portion of the tapering part.
6. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1, wherein the second plate part (14) comprises a square-shaped opening (28) for receiving a square-shapedportion (22a) of the fastening bolt (22), whereby the fastening bolt (22) is prevented from rotation.
7. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 6, wherein the square-shaped opening (28) is provided in a reinforcement (30) on the second plate part (14).
8. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1, wherein the fastening bolt (22) is arranged to be mounted to the second plate part (14) by means of a nut (24).
9. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1, wherein the fastening bolt (22) is arranged to be equipped with correspondingly arranged fastening nuts (26) with washers, for attachment of said roof equipment.
10. The mounting plate (10) according to claim 1, wherein the fastening bolt (22) is arranged to project up through a slot (42) in an overlying shingle plate (40').
