[0005] The present invention relates to the use of a mixture of castor oil (INCI: Ricinus Communis Seed Oil) and carnauba wax (INCI: Copernicia Cerifera Cera)
[0006] as a sweetener, as well as a cosmetic lip care product (lipstick, lip balm, oleogel) containing this mixture.
[0007] The desire to look beautiful and attractive has been rooted in humankind for thousands of years. Even though the ideal of beauty has changed over time, the pursuit of a flawless appearance has always been a human goal, as a pleasing appearance increases self-esteem and attractiveness to others.
[0008] The term decorative cosmetics derives from the Latin "decoratio" – the highlighting of beauty. It usually involves using dyes to accentuate specific parts of the body, especially the face, and to soften uneven skin tone.
[0009] In addition to face powders and blush as powdered cosmetics and stick-shaped preparations, cream-shaped preparations such as day creams and cream-make-up based on emulsions are also used.
[0010] Lipstick is among the most frequently used decorative cosmetics. More than 50% of women in Germany use it. Besides accentuating the color of the lips, it usually also serves to care for them.
[0011] Lipsticks typically consist of a wax matrix into which liquid and semi-solid oils, as well as pigments and fillers, are incorporated in high concentrations. They are in solid stick form.
[0012] In addition to lipsticks, lip care products are also offered, presented as a more or less viscous cream, such as lip balms or oleogels. Preparations called lip butters are also available; these have a butter-like consistency and consist of various fatty components.
[0013] Lip care products are subject to particularly stringent requirements regarding their safety, as it cannot be ruled out that parts of the preparation will come into contact with the mouth and / or be swallowed during application and wear. Since some ingredients in lip care products have an unpleasant inherent taste, it is also important to mask this taste to make the preparations more appealing to consumers. Sweeteners are frequently used for this purpose. Potentially usable sweeteners include sodium saccharin (INCI: Sodium Saccharin) and / or neohesperidin dihydrochalcone (INCI: Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone).
[0014] A disadvantage of the current state of the art, however, is that lip care products containing sodium saccharin tend to yellow. Preparations with a combination of sodium saccharin and neohesperidin dihydrochalcone tend to turn red or even brown. This effect occurs particularly at higher temperatures and with longer storage times. If (unplanned) delays occur during the heat phase of production, or if a lipstick is stored at a higher temperature (e.g., in summer), this can lead to undesirable discoloration of the product. In some cases, the entire preparation may have to be discarded and disposed of in a costly manner during the manufacturing process.
[0015] A disadvantage of the current state of the art is that the combination of sweetener (especially sodium saccharin and neohesperidin dihydrochalcone) and pigments leads to inhomogeneous preparations. Even during manufacturing, it is noticeable that in sweetener-containing formulations, the pigments no longer distribute homogeneously in the hot, liquid stick mass, but rather sink to the bottom. Consequently, it is no longer possible to cast uniformly composed sticks from this liquid stick mass.
[0016] The object of the present invention was therefore to develop an alternative form of sweetener with which lip care products can be sweetened and unpleasant inherent tastes of individual ingredients can be masked and produced in a stable manner.
[0017] The problem is surprisingly solved by using a mixture of

[0019] b) Carnauba wax (INCI: Copernicia Cerifera Cera)
[0020] as a sweetener. According to the invention, this use is advantageously characterized in that the weight ratio of castor oil to carnauba wax is from 4:1 to 9:1.

[0022] The problem is also surprisingly solved by a lip care product containing a mixture of
