[0028] 3GPP has started to provide supports for AI / ML positioning with one objective of positioning accuracy enhancements, encompassing: - Direct AI / ML positioning: (1st priority) Case 1: UE-based positioning with UE-side model, direct AI / ML  positioning; (2nd priority) Case 2b: UE-assisted / location management function (LMF) -based  positioning with LMF-side model, direct AI / ML positioning; (1st priority) Case 3b: Next Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) node assisted  positioning with LMF-side model, direct AI / ML positioning; - AI / ML assisted positioning: (2nd priority) Case 2a: UE-assisted / LMF-based positioning with UE-side model, AI / ML  assisted positioning; (1st priority) Case 3a: NG-RAN node assisted positioning with gNB-side model, AI / ML  assisted positioning; - Specify necessary measurements, signalling / mechanism (s) to facilitate life circle  management (LCM) operations specific to the positioning accuracy enhancements use cases, if any; - Investigate and specify the necessary signalling of necessary measurement enhancements  (if any) ; - Enabling method (s) to ensure consistency between training and inference regarding  network (NW) -side additional conditions (if identified) for inference at UE for relevant positioning sub use cases.

[0029] For training data generation of AI / ML based positioning Case 1 (i.e., UE-based positioning with UE-side model, direct AI / ML positioning) , the measurement and its related data (e.g., timestamp) are generated by position reference unit (PRU) and / or non-PRU UE.

[0030] For training data generation of AI / ML based positioning Case 3a (i.e., NG-RAN node assisted positioning with gNB-side model, AI / ML assisted positioning) and Case 3b (i.e., NG-RAN node assisted positioning with LMF-side model, direct AI / ML positioning) , the measurement and its related data (e.g., timestamp) are generated by TRP / gNB.

[0031] For training data collection of AI / ML based positioning, the collected data sample may include the following components: - Part A (also may be called as a first set of channel measurement related parameters  sometimes) : a channel measurement; a quality indicator of channel measurement; a time stamp of channel measurement; - Part B (also may be called as a second set of ground-truth label related parameters) : a ground truth label (or its approximation) ; a quality indicator of label; a time stamp of label.

[0032] For training data generation of AI / ML based positioning Case 1 (i.e., UE-based positioning with UE-side model, direct AI / ML positioning) , the label and its related data (e.g., time stamp) can be generated by: PRU; non-PRU UE with estimated location; and LMF.

[0033] For training data generation of AI / ML based positioning Case 3b (i.e., NG-RAN node assisted positioning with LMF-side model, direct AI / ML positioning) , the label and its related data (e.g., time stamp) can be generated by: PRU; non-PRU UE with estimated location; and LMF.

[0034] For training data generation of AI / ML based positioning Case 3a (i.e., NG-RAN node assisted positioning with gNB-side model, AI / ML assisted positioning) , the label and its related data (e.g., time stamp) can be generated by at least LMF.

[0035] For training data collection of AI / ML based positioning, if a training data sample contains both Part A and Part B, it assumes that Part A and Part B in one training data sample are: for a same UE (PRU or non-PRU UE) , and / or for a same location associated with Part B.

[0036] For training data collection of AI / ML based positioning Case 3b, for time stamp of channel measurement, for channel measurement generated by TRP / gNB, existing information element (IE) “Time Stamp” in 3GPP TS 38.455 may be reused.

[0037] For AI / ML based positioning, when channel measurement is to be reported / sent, the time stamp of channel measurement refers to the time instance when the channel measurement is performed. When label is to be reported / sent, the time stamp of label is the time instance for which the label is valid.

[0038] In some solutions, for training data collection of AI / ML based positioning Case 3a / 3b, if Part A and Part B are generated by different entities, for pairing between a Part A entry and a Part B entry, the following may be needed: the time stamp of Part A (if Part A is transmitted) , the time stamp of Part B (if Part B is transmitted) and other information if needed.

[0039] In operation, the time stamp may correspond to the measured result. In one example, the time stamp may be the field of nr-TimeStamp of DL-TDoA. This field specifies the time instance at which the Time of Arrival (ToA) , Reference Signal Carrier Phase (RSCP) (if included) and DL positioning reference signal (PRS) -reference signal received power (RSRP) Reference Signal Received Path Power (RSRPP) (if included) measurement is performed. The nr-SFN, nr-Slot and nr-Symbol (if included) in information element (IE) NR-TimeStamp (as illustrated in below table) correspond to the TRP provided in dl-PRS-ReferenceInfo. It is noted that the TOA measurement refers to the TOA of this neighbour TRP or the reference TRP, as applicable, used to determine the nr-RSTD or nr-RSTD-ResultDiff.

[0040] In a further example, the time stamp may correspond to the field of nr-TimeStamp of mRTT. This field specifies the time instance for which the measurement is performed. If RSCP measurement is present, the timestamp applies to both RSCP and UE Rx-Tx time difference measurement.

[0041] In a further example, the time stamp may correspond to the field of measurementReferenceTime of DL-TDoA. This field specifies the time for which the location estimate is valid.

[0042] The IE NR-DL-TDOA-LocationInformation may be included by the target device when location information derived using NR DL-TDOA is provided to the location server. Below table illustrates an example of IE NR-DL-TDOA-LocationInformation.

[0043] The IE NR-TimeStamp defines the UE measurement associated time stamp. Below table illustrates an example of IE NR-TimeStamp.

[0044] The purpose of the assistance information control procedure is to allow the LMF to transmit signal positioning assistance information to the NG-RAN node for assistance information broadcasting. This procedure applies only if the NG-RAN node is a gNB. In one example, the assistance information control procedure involves two nodes, namely, NG-RAN Node, LMF node. In an assistance information control procedure, the LMF transmits assistance information control to the NG-RAN Node.

[0045] The measurement procedure allows the LMF to request one or more TRPs in the NG-RAN node to perform and report positioning measurements. This procedure applies only if the NG-RAN node is a gNB. In one example, the assistance information control procedure involves two nodes, namely, NG-RAN Node, LMF node. In a measurement procedure, the LMF transmits a measurement request to the NG-RAN node, and the NG-RAN node transmits a measurement response to the LMF.

[0046] In the context of the present discourse, the term of “pair” , “associate” , “link” , “assemble” , “group” and other similar wordings may be used interchangeably.

[0047] In the context of the present discourse, the term of “time” , “time stamp” , “time instance” , “time label” , “time point” , “time information” , “SFN” , “UTC” and other similar wordings may be used interchangeably.

[0048] In the context of the present discourse, “the first set pairing with the second set” may refer to at least one of the following: the first set pairing with the second set, at least one parameter comprised in the first set pairing with the second set, the first set pairing with at least one parameter comprised in the second set.

[0049] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.

[0050] FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example communication environment 100 in which example embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. In the communication environment 100, one or more communication devices, including a first device 110 and second devices 120-1 to 120-N (where N is an integer larger than or equal to 1) , can communicate with each other. For ease of discussion, the second devices 120-1 to 120-N may be collectively referred to as the second devices 120 or individually referred to as the second device 120.

[0051] In the example of FIG. 1, data for training an AI / ML model for location prediction may be collected. In operation, one or more first sets of channel measurement related parameters (also called as Part A sometimes) and one or more second sets of ground-truth label related parameters (also called as Part B sometimes) may be obtained. In particular, the one or more first sets and the one or more second sets may be associated with a same target object (such as, a target UE) .

[0052] In the example of FIG. 1, the first device 110 may be a data collection entity / pairing entity. Specifically, the first device 110 may obtain the one or more first sets and the one or more second sets which are associated with a same target object. The first device 110 may pair a first set (s) with a second set (s) . Specifically, in some cases, one first set may be paired with one second set. In some cases, one first set may be paired with a plurality of second sets. In some other cases, a plurality of first sets may be paired with one second set. In other words, the present disclosure is not limited with regard to the pairing type between the first set and the second set.

[0053] In some cases, the first device 110 may generate the first set (s) and / or the second set(s) by itself. Alternatively, in some other cases, the first device 110 may obtain the first set(s) and the second set (s) from one or more second device 120. In the example of FIG. 1. the first device 110 may obtain the first set (s) and / or the second set (s) from the second device 120-1 to the second device 120-N. Additionally, the first device 110 may transmit a message to the second device 120 for requesting the first set (s) and the second set (s) , such that that the transmission of the first set (s) and / or the second set (s) may be performed on demand.

[0054] In some embodiments, at least below AI / ML positioning cases may be supported in the communication environment 100: - Case 1: UE-based positioning with UE-side model, direct AI / ML positioning; - Case 2a: UE-assisted / LMF-based positioning with UE-side model, AI / ML assisted  positioning; - Case 2b: UE-assisted / location management function (LMF) -based positioning with  LMF-side model, direct AI / ML positioning; - Case 3a: NG-RAN node assisted positioning with gNB-side model, AI / ML assisted  positioning; - Case 3b: Next Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) node assisted positioning  with LMF-side model, direct AI / ML positioning.

[0055] According to the different AI / ML positioning cases discussed above, the first set (s) and / or the second set (s) may be obtained / collected by different network elements. Below table summarizes the different training data generation entities for different cases.

[0056] In some embodiments, the first device 110 may comprise at least one of the following: a terminal device, a transmission reception point (TRP) , the next Generation Node B (gNB) , a location management function (LMF) , or a PRU. Accordingly, the second device 120 may comprise at least one of the following: a terminal device, a TRP, a gNB, an LMF) , or a PRU. It should be noted that the present discourse is not limited with regards to the device type.

[0057] It is to be understood that the number of devices and their connections shown in FIG. 1 are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of devices configured to implementing example embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0058] In some embodiments, the first device 110 and the second device 120 may communicate with each other via a channel such as a wireless communication channel on an air interface (e.g., Uu interface) or a PC5 interface. The wireless communication channel may comprise a sidelink, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) , a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) , a physical random-access channel (PRACH) , a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) , a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) . Of course, any other suitable channels are also feasible.

[0059] The communications in the communication environment 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) , Long Term Evolution (LTE) , LTE-Evolution, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) , New Radio (NR) , Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) , Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) , Machine Type Communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-Advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0060] As discussed above, the AI / ML technology is proposed to be used in the wireless communication network, such as, a positioning service. In order to achieve a better performance of an AI / ML model for positioning, it is expected to obtain efficient and valid training data.

[0061] Based on current discussion, when determining the training data, the first set (i.e., the Part A) and the second set (i.e., the Part B) need to be paired. Further, based on current discussion, the first set (i.e., the Part A) may comprise: a channel measurement, a quality indicator of channel measurement, a time stamp of channel measurement, and the second set (i.e., the Part B) may comprise: a ground truth label (or its approximation) , a quality indicator of label, and a time stamp of label. Further, any of the time stamps associated with the first set and the second set may be a time instance in the formats of an SFN time, a UTC time or other format. Specifically, the time stamp of part A may be the time instance when the channel measurement is performed, and the time stamp of part B may be the time instance for which the label is valid.

[0062] In the actual communication scenario, multiple part A and multiple part B for a same target object may be obtained. Refer to FIG. 2, where the first set 210-1, 210-2 to 210-N and the second sets 220-1, 220-1 to 220-M are obtained, where any of N and M is an integer larger than or equal to 1. Further, for ease of discussion, the first set 210-1, 210-2 to 210-N may be collectively referred to as the first sets 210 or individually referred to as the first set 210, and the second set 220-1, 220-2 to 220-M may be collectively referred to as the second sets 220 or individually referred to as the second set 220.

[0063] Further, different first sets 210 and / or different second sets 220may be generated by different entities, generated at different time instance, with difference qualities and so on.

[0064] In summary, the collection procedure are complicated. In this event, how to pair the first set (s) and the second set (s) is desirable to be further discussed.

[0065] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, a solution for pairing the first set (s) and the second set (s) is proposed. In the solution, a first device obtains at least one first set of channel measurement related parameters and at least one second set of ground-truth label related parameters associated with a target object, wherein each first set comprises a channel measurement and each second set comprises a ground-truth label; and determines, from the at least one second set, a second set to be paired with the first set based at least on a relationship between a first time stamp and at least one of a second time stamp or a third time stamp, wherein the first time stamp is a time instance at which the channel measurement is performed, the second time stamp is a time instance at which the ground-truth label is obtained, and the third time stamp is a time instance for which the ground truth label is valid. In this way, the first set (s) may be paired with the second set (s) properly, such that the training data of an AI / ML model may be generated properly.

[0066] More details will be discussed with reference to FIG. 3, which illustrates a signaling flow 300 for communication in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flow 300 will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1, for example, by using the first device 110 and the second device 120.

[0067] In the following descriptions, while operations are depicted in a particular order, this should not be understood as requiring that such operations be performed in the particular order shown or in sequential order, or that all illustrated operations be performed, to achieve desirable results. In certain circumstances, multitasking and parallel processing may be advantageous. Likewise, while several specific implementation details are contained in the above discussions, these should not be construed as limitations on the scope of the present disclosure, but rather as descriptions of features that may be specific to particular embodiments. Certain features that are described in the context of separate embodiments may also be implemented in combination in a single embodiment. Conversely, various features that are described in the context of a single embodiment may also be implemented in multiple embodiments separately or in any suitable sub-combination.

[0068] It is to be understood that the operations at the first device 110 and the second device 120 should be coordinated. In other words, the second device 120 and the first device 110 should have common understanding about configurations, parameters and so on. Such common understanding may be implemented by any suitable interactions between the second device 120 and the first device 110 or both the second device 120 and the first device 110 applying the same rule / policy. In the following, although some operations are described from a perspective of the first device 110, it is to be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the second device 120. Similarly, although some operations are described from a perspective of the second device 120, it is to be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the first device 110. Merely for brevity, some of the same or similar contents are omitted here.

[0069] In the following example embodiments, the first device 110 may be used as an entity for performing pairing or data collection. In one embodiment, the first device 110 may be a terminal device, a TRP, a gNB, an LLMF, or a PRU. Similarly, the second device 120 may be a terminal device, a TRP, a gNB, an LLMF, or a PRU. It should be noted that in other embodiments, the first device 110 and the second device 120 may be other device type.

[0070] As illustrated in FIG. 3, in operation, the first device 110 may obtain (320) at least one first set of channel measurement related parameters associated with a target object, where each first set may comprise at least one of the following: the channel measurement, a quality indicator of the channel measurement or the first time stamp. In some embodiments, the first time stamp may be a time instance at which the channel measurement is performed.

[0071] Further, the first device 110 may obtain (320) at least one second set of ground-truth label related parameters associated with the same target object, where each second set may comprise at least one of the following: the ground truth label, a quality indicator of the ground truth label, the second time stamp, the third time stamp, velocity information of the target object, or a duration within which the second set is valid. In some embodiments, the third time stamp may be a time instance for which the ground truth label is valid.

[0072] The physical meaning about the first and third time stamp haven been discussed above. In the following, more details about the second time stamp will be discussed.

[0073] In some embodiments, the second time stamp may be a time instance at which the ground-truth label is obtained. The second time stamp will be explained in detail below.

[0074] In some cases, the second time stamp may be generated by the first device 110 itself. In operation, if the second time stamp is generated by the first device 110, the second time stamp may comprise a time instance at which the first device 110 generates the second set.

[0075] In some other cases, the second time stamp may be generated by a second device 120 and then informed to the first device 110. If so, in one example, the second time stamp may comprise a time instance at which the first device 110 receives the second set from the second device 120. Alternatively, in another example, the second time stamp may comprise a time instance at which the second device 120 generates the second set. Alternatively, in a further example, the second time stamp may comprise a time instance at which the second device 120 transmits (310) the second set to the first device 110. Alternatively, in a further example, the second time stamp may comprise a time instance that is a predefined duration before the third time stamp. Additionally, in some embodiments, the predefined duration may be associated with velocity information of the target object.

[0076] As discussed, the second set may be obtained from the second device 120, and thus the first device 110 may not know the second time stamp. In this case, the second device may provide the information about the second time stamp to the first device 110. Specifically, the second device 120 may transmit information about the second time stamp to the first device, and the first device 110 may receive information about the second time stamp from the second device 120 accordingly. Further, the information about the second time stamp may be along with or separately from the transmission of the second set.

[0077] According to some embodiment of the present disclosure, any of the first, second and third time stamps may be represented in any suitable format, which will be discussed in the following.

[0078] In one example, the first time stamp may be in a format of a time instance. In a further example, the first time stamp may be in a format of a system frame number (SFN) . In a further example, the first time stamp may be in a format of a coordinated universal time (UTC) . In a further example, the first time stamp may be in a format of an offset relative to the third time stamp. In a further another example, the first time stamp may be in a format of an offset relative to a time at which the second device 120 transmits (310) the second set to the first device 110.

[0079] In one example, the second time stamp may be in a format of a time instance. In a further example, the second time stamp may be in a format of a system frame number (SFN) . In a further example, the second time stamp may be in a format of a coordinated universal time (UTC) . In a further example, the second time stamp may be in a format of an offset relative to the third time stamp. In a further another example, the second time stamp may be in a format of an offset relative to a time at which the second device 120 transmits (310) the second set to the first device 110.

[0080] Merely for a better understanding, some example of the first time stamp, the second time stamp, and the third time stamp will be further described with reference to FIG. 4. As shown in FIG. 4, Ta, Tb, Tc may correspond to different first time stamps of different first sets (e.g., parts A) , and Ta, Tb, Tc may mean the time instance when the corresponding channel measurements are performed. T2 may correspond to the third time stamp and may be the time stamp of a second set (e.g., part B) , which means the time instance for which a ground-truth label comprised the second set is valid.

[0081] T1 may correspond to the second time stamp and may be defined as the time instance when the second set is obtained. In one example, T1 may be defined as the time instance when the second set is generated by the pairing entity itself (i.e., the first device 110, e.g., UE, gNB / TRP, LMF and so on) . In another example, T1 may be defined as the time instance when the second set is received from other entities (i.e. the second device 120, e.g., from PRU, non-PRU UE, LMF and so on) .

[0082] In a still another example, T1 may be defined as the time instance when other entity generates the label in the second set. In this case, time instance T1 may be informed to the pairing entity (i.e., the first device 110) from other entity.

[0083] In some embodiments, the time instance T1 may be in a format of UTC time or SFN time. Alternatively, the time instance T1 may be in a format of a time offset between the transmitting instance and the generating instance. Alternatively, the time instance T1 may be in a format of a time offset between T1 and T2.

[0084] According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, after the first set and the second set are obtained, at least one of the second set may be selected to be paired with the first set. In some embodiments, the first device 110 may determine (360) a second set to be paired with the first set from the at least one second set based at least on a relationship between the first time stamp and at least one of: the second time stamp or the third time stamp. More example embodiments on the operations of pairing will be described in detail below.

[0085] In some embodiments, at least one third time stamp associated with the at least one second set may be no earlier or later than the first time stamp, and the second set to be paired with the first set may comprise a second set that is associated with a largest second time stamp among at least one second time stamp associated with the at least one second set. For example, the first set may be paired with the second set if the time stamp Ta of the first set is no later than T2, and the selected second set may have a largest T1 (i.e., newly obtained an updated label, the second set) . As shown in FIG. 5, the time stamp T1” of the second set #2 is the largest, which may be selected to be paired with the first set.

[0086] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the second set to be paired with the first set may comprise a second set that is associated with a largest third time stamp among at least one third time stamp associated with the at least one second set. For example, the first set may be paired with the second set if time stamp of the first set is no later than the third stamp, and the selected second set may have a largest third stamp (i.e., valid till a longest future time) . As shown in FIG. 5, time stamp Ta of the first set is no later than T2”’ , and the T2”’ associated with the second set #3 is the largest, and thus the second set #3 may be selected to be paired with the first set.

[0087] In some special cases where the target UE's position is fixed, so that the first set is updated according to different measurement occasions, while the second set is not updated. In other words, in a case where the target object is associated with a fixed position or the second set is long-term valid, the second set may be paired with more than one first set of the at least one first set.

[0088] In some embodiments, a specific value of the second time stamp may indicate that the target object is associated with a fixed position or the second set associated with the second time stamp is long-term valid. As an example, a predefined time stamp may be used to indicate that the label in the second set is long-term valid / to indicate the location is fixed until signaling otherwise.

[0089] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the second set to be paired with the first set may comprise a second set, wherein a difference between a second time stamp associated with the second set and the first time stamp is a smallest difference among at least one difference between at least one respective second time stamp associated with the at least second set and the first time stamp. The first set may be paired with the second set if the time stamp of the first set is no later than the third time stamp, and the selected second set may have a smallest time offset between the second time stamp and the first time stamp. As shown in FIG. 6, the time stamp Ta of the first set is no later than the T2#1, and the second set #1 has the smallest time offset between T1#1 and Ta, and thus the second set #1 may be selected to be paired with the first set.

[0090] In some embodiments, the first device 110 may determine to pair the second set with the first set based on a determination that a quality of the second set satisfies a predefined quality requirement. Additionally, quality indicator of the second may be used to exclude some second sets whose quality is not high enough or meeting a predefined quality requirement, or used to select the second set with highest quality. Alternatively, the entity who generates the second set only transmits a second set to this paring entity if the quality of the second set is higher than a predefined quality requirement.

[0091] In some embodiments, the second set to be paired with the first set may comprise a second set with a highest quality among at least one quality corresponding to the at least one second set.

[0092] In some embodiments, the first set can be paired with the second set if the time stamp of the first set is no later than the third time stamp associated with the second set, which the second set may be selected based on the entity's implementation. Pairing based on implementation would lead non-reliable training data sample. If solely based on the time stamp of the first set and the time stamp of the second set, and the time stamp of the first set is not later than the time stamp of the second set, the first set and the second set can be paired. In some embodiments, the time offset between the two time stamps may be within a predefined / configured / default threshold. As shown in FIG. 7, two time stamps of Ta and Tb are not later than the time stamp T2 of the second set, and both of Ta and Tb can be paired with the second set.

[0093] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, for simplicity pairing between the first set and the second set, the entity may maintain / store at most one second set associated with one target UE. In other words, even more than one second set may be obtained by the first device 110, the first device 110 may maintain only one of the more than one second set. Details will be discussed in the following.

[0094] In some embodiments, the first device 110 may obtain a second set of ground-truth label related parameters. If the first device 110 determine that there is no valid stored second set of ground-truth label related parameters, the first device 110 may store the second set of ground-truth label related parameters. In one example, the first device 110 may obtain and store the second set if there is no valid second set associated with the target UE, for example, no stored second set or the time stamp T2 of the stored second set is out of data.

[0095] In some embodiments, the first device 110 may obtain a further second set of ground-truth label related parameters after storing the second set of ground-truth label related parameters. The first device may store the further second set of ground-truth label related parameters to replace the second set of ground-truth label related parameters. In other words, the first device always store the newly-obtained second set.

[0096] Alternatively, the storing of the newly-obtained second set is performed conditionally. Specifically, in some embodiments, the first device 110 may obtain a further second set of ground-truth label related parameters after storing the second set of ground-truth label related parameters. If the first device 110 determine that a third time stamp associated with the further second set is no earlier or later than a third time stamp associated with the stored second set, the first device 110 may store the further second set of ground-truth label related parameters to replace the second set of ground-truth label related parameters. In one example, the first device 110 may update the stored second set if the newly obtained second set has a larger time stamp T2. Otherwise, the first device 110 may keep the stored second set and discards the new one.

[0097] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the previously-stored second set may be retained for a fallback. Specifically, in some embodiments, the first device 110 may obtain a further second set of ground-truth label related parameters after storing the second set ground-truth label related parameters. If the first device 110 determines that a third time stamp associated with the further second set is no earlier or later than a third time stamp associated with the stored second set, the first device 110 may store the further second set of ground-truth label related parameters while retaining the second set of ground-truth label related parameters. In one example, the entity may update the stored second set when it newly (with a larger T1) obtains a second set regardless of the time stamp T2. In this case, the entity may still store the old second set for backup if it has a larger time stamp T2.

[0098] In addition to the above, a valid duration may be introduced for deterring the pairing. Specifically, in some embodiments, the first device 110 may determine to pair the second set with the first set based on a determination that the first time stamp is within a duration between the second time stamp and the third time stamp associated with the second set.

[0099] In some embodiments, a valid duration [T1, T2] may be defined for each second set to pair with the first set. The first set may be paired with the second set if the time stamp of the first set is located within a valid duration of the second set.

[0100] Alternatively, the valid duration may be defined as [the time stamp of the second set, extended valid duration] , and the extended valid duration may be signaled from other second generating the label or may be predefined.

[0101] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the valid duration of the second set may be defined from T1 to T2. In one example, if the label is generated by the pairing entity itself, T1 may be the timing generating the label. In another example, if the label is generated by the other entity and is transmitted to the pairing entity, T1 may be the time instance when the pairing entity receives the second set. In another example, if the label is generated by the other entity and is transmitted to the pairing entity, T1 may be the time instance when other entity generates the ground truth label, which the time instance when other entity generates the ground truth label may be additionally informed from the entity generating the label to the pairing entity.

[0102] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, if there are multiple second sets, the one with a smallest time offset between the starting of the valid duration of the second set and the time stamp of the first set may be selected to be paired with the first set.

[0103] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, T1 may be a predefined time instance relative to T2 based on the velocity information of the target object.

[0104] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the first device 110 may determine to pair the second set with the first set based on the second time stamp associated with the second set is no earlier or later than the first time stamp. Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, the first device 110 may determine to pair the second set with the first set based on a difference between the second time stamp and the first time stamp is smaller than or equal to a threshold.

[0105] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the first device 110 may select a pairing scheme according to actual requirements. As an example, in some embodiments, the first device 110 may determine (340) a scheme from a plurality of schemes for pairing the first set and the second set based on velocity information of the target object. Additionally, the scheme to be performed may depend on the velocity information of the target UE, which is transmitted aside of the second set.

[0106] In other cases, the first device 110 may determine a scheme from a plurality of schemes for pairing the first set and the second set based on other information, and the present disclosure is not limited in this aspect.

[0107] In the following, example embodiments on the information exchanging will be discussed with reference to FIG. 8 to FIG. 9. In the examples of FIG. 8 to FIG. 9, the NG-RAN node is used as an example of the first device 110 and the LMF is used as an example of the second device 120. It should be noted that example embodiments below may not be interpreted as any limitation to the present disclosure.

[0108] In some embodiments, the purpose of the Assistance Information Control procedure may be to allow the LMF to signal positioning assistance information to the NG-RAN Node for assistance information broadcasting. This procedure may apply only if the NG-RAN node is a gNB.

[0109] In some embodiments, the LMF may initiate the procedure by sending an ASSISTANCE INFORMATION CONTROL message.

[0110] If the Part B information IE is included in the ASSISTANCE INFORMATION CONTROL message. An additional obtaining information which is the time instance of the label information may also be informed. An additional velocity information related to the target UE may be also informed.

[0111] The NG-RAN Node shall, if supported, consider the additional obtaining information as a factor to pair the part B with part A.

[0112] Regarding the pairing between part A and part B, the procedure defined above is applied.

[0113] In some embodiments, if the Assistance Information IE is included in the ASSISTANCE INFORMATION CONTROL message, the NG-RAN Node shall, if supported, replace any previously stored assistance information and use the received information to configure assistance information broadcasting.

[0114] In some embodiments, if the Broadcast Priority IE is included in the Assistance Information IE, the NG-RAN Node may take it into account when configuring broadcasting for the relevant information. Assistance information having the same Broadcast Priority value may receive the same treatment (i.e. broadcast by the NG-RAN Node or not broadcast) .

[0115] In some embodiments, the purpose of the AIML Information Control procedure may be to allow the LMF to signal AIML based positioning information to the NG-RAN Node for data collection / pairing. This procedure may apply only if the NG-RAN node is a gNB. The LMF may initiate the procedure by sending an AIML INFORMATION CONTROL message. Regarding the pairing between part A and part B, the procedure defined above may be applied.

[0116] In some embodiments, the measurement procedure may allow the LMF to request one or more TRPs in the NG-RAN node to perform and report positioning AIML measurements, i.e., part A. This procedure may apply only if the NG-RAN node is a gNB.

[0117] In some embodiments, the LMF may initiate the procedure by sending a MEASUREMENT REQUEST message to the NG-RAN node, indicating in the TRP Measurement Request List IE the TRP (s) from which measurements are requested. The NG-RAN node shall use the included information to configure positioning measurements by the indicated TRP (s) . If at least one of the requested measurements has been successful for at least one of the TRPs, the NG-RAN node shall reply with a MEASUREMENT RESPONSE message including the TRP Measurement Response List IE. TRP Measurement Request List IE may additionally include the additional information which is the time instance of the label information. Regarding the pairing between part A and part B, the procedure defined above may be applied.

[0118] FIG. 10 illustrates a flowchart of a communication method 1000 implemented at a first device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 1000 will be described from the perspective of first device 110 in FIG. 1.

[0119] At block 1010, the first device obtains at least one first set of channel measurement related parameters and at least one second set of ground-truth label related parameters associated with a target object, wherein each first set comprises a channel measurement and each second set comprises a ground-truth label.

[0120] At block 1020, the first device determines, from the at least one second set, a second set to be paired with the first set based at least on a relationship between a first time stamp and at least one of a second time stamp or a third time stamp, wherein the first time stamp is a time instance at which the channel measurement is performed, the second time stamp is a time instance at which the ground-truth label is obtained, and the third time stamp is a time instance for which the ground truth label is valid.

[0121] In some example embodiments, at least one third time stamp associated with the at least one second set may be no earlier or later than the first time stamp, and the second set to be paired with the first set may comprise at least one of the following: a second set that is associated with a largest second time stamp among at least one second time stamp associated with the at least one second set, a second set that is associated with a largest third time stamp among at least one third time stamp associated with the at least one second set, a second set, wherein a difference between a second time stamp associated with the second set and the first time stamp is a smallest difference among at least one difference between at least one respective second time stamp associated with the at least second set and the first time stamp, or a second set with a highest quality among at least one quality corresponding to the at least one second set.

[0122] In some example embodiments, in a case where the target object is associated with a fixed position or the second set is long-term valid, the second set may be paired with more than one first set of the at least one first set.

[0123] In some example embodiments, a specific value of the second time stamp may indicate that the target object is associated with a fixed position or the second set associated with the second time stamp is long-term valid.

[0124] In some example embodiments, the device may: in accordance with a determination that more than one second set is obtained by the first device, maintain only one of the more than one second set.

[0125] In some example embodiments, the first device may: obtain a second set of ground-truth label related parameters; and in accordance with a determination that there is no valid stored second set of ground-truth label related parameters, store the second set of ground-truth label related parameters.

[0126] In some example embodiments, the first device may: after storing the second set of ground-truth label related parameters, obtain a further second set of ground-truth label related parameters; and store the further second set of ground-truth label related parameters to replace the second set of ground-truth label related parameters.

[0127] In some example embodiments, the first device may: after storing the second set of ground-truth label related parameters, obtain a further second set of ground-truth label related parameters; and in accordance with a determination that a third time stamp associated with the further second set is no earlier or later than a third time stamp associated with the stored second set, store the further second set of ground-truth label related parameters to replace the second set of ground-truth label related parameters.

[0128] In some example embodiments, the first device may: after storing the second set ground-truth label related parameters, obtain a further second set of ground-truth label related parameters; and in accordance with a determination that a third time stamp associated with the further second set is earlier or no later than a third time stamp associated with the stored second set, store the further second set of ground-truth label related parameters while retaining the second set of ground-truth label related parameters.

[0129] In some example embodiments, the first device may: determine to pair the second set with the first set in accordance with a determination that a quality of the second set satisfies a predefined quality requirement.

[0130] In some example embodiments, the first device may: determine to pair the second set with the first set in accordance with a determination that the first time stamp is within a duration between the second time stamp and the third time stamp associated with the second set.
