Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods and computer readable medium for communication. In one aspect, a first device receives, from a second device, scheduling information for transmission from the first device to the second device. The first device determines, based on at least one of the scheduling information and a predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with or without a midamble at an end of the transmission. In turn, the first device performs the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission.

DEVICES, METHODS AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM FOR COMMUNICATIONTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of telecommunication, and in particular, to devices, methods and computer readable medium for communication.BACKGROUND

[0002] Ambient Internet of Thing (AIoT) aims to inventory use case where one or more readers perform an inventory procedure among one or more nearby AIoT devices. Midamble can be used for purposes of at least one of the following: synchronization, sampling frequency offset (SFO) estimation, CFO estimation, channel estimation, or interference estimation. An AIoT device may transmit midamble at an end of transmission from the AIoT device to a reader (D2R) . Midamble at the end of D2R transmission may function as postamble for SFO estimation. Thus, there is a need to study how to determine whether midamble is to be transmitted at an end of the D2R transmission.SUMMARY

[0003] In general, example embodiments of the present disclosure provide devices, methods and computer readable medium for communication.

[0004] In a first aspect, there is provided a first device. The first device comprises at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to cause the first device to: receive, from a second device, scheduling information for transmission from the first device to the second device; determine, based on at least one of the scheduling information and a predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with or without a midamble at an end of the transmission; and perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission.

[0005] In a second aspect, there is provided a second device. The second device comprises at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to cause the second device to: transmit, to a first device, scheduling information for transmission from the first device to the second device; determine, based on at least one of the scheduling information and a predefined condition, whether to perform reception of the transmission from the first device with or without a midamble at an end of the transmission; and perform reception of the transmission from the first device with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission.

[0031] In view of the above, the present disclosure provides a solution for communication. In this solution, a first device receives, from a second device, scheduling information for transmission from the first device to the second device. The first device determines, based on at least one of the scheduling information and a predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with or without a midamble at an end of the transmission. In turn, the first device performs the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission. With this solution, overhead for midamble indication may be saved.

[0032] Fig. 1 illustrates an example communication system 100 in which embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in Fig. 1, the communication system 100 may comprise a first device 110 and a second device 120.

[0033] In some embodiments, the communication system 100 may be implemented as an AIoT system. In such embodiments, the first device 110 may be implemented as an AIoT device, and the second device 120 may be implemented as a communication device. In such embodiments, the second device 120 may be referred to as a reader for the AIoT device.

[0042] Fig. 3 illustrates a flowchart of an example method 300 in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the method 300 can be implemented at a device, such as the first device 110 as shown in Fig. 1, 2A or 2B. For the purpose of discussion, the method 300 will be described with reference to Fig. 1, 2A or 2B as performed by the first device 110 without loss of generality.

1.A first device, comprising:a processor configured to cause the first device to:receive, from a second device, scheduling information for transmission from the first device to the second device;determine, based on at least one of the scheduling information and a predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with or without a midamble at an end of the transmission; andperform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission.2.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates the following:a first number of at least one midamble to be transmitted with the transmission, anda gap; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that a transport block (TB) size for the transmission or a duration of the transmission is less than or equal to a product of the first number and the gap, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.3.The first device of claim 2, wherein the adjacent midambles exclude an end midamble among the at least one midamble.4.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates whether to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.5.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates the following:whether to perform the transmission with at least one midamble;a gap; anda transport block (TB) size for the transmission or a duration of the transmission; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the TB size or the duration of the transmission is a multiple of the gap, determine to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.6.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates the following:whether to perform the transmission with at least one midamble,a first gap, andat least one second gap; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that a sum of the first gap and the at least one second gap is equal to a duration of the transmission, determine to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.7.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates a gap; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the duration of the transmission is a multiple of the gap, determine to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.8.The first device of claim 1, wherein the first device is caused to determine, based on at least one of the scheduling information and the predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the duration of the transmission is greater than a gap,determining remaining chips by excluding a second number of chips, wherein the second number is equal to a multiple of a gap, and a third number of the remaining chips is less than the gap, andbased on determining that the third number of the remaining chips is greater than a threshold, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission; andbased on determining that the duration of the transmission is less than the gap and greater than the threshold, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.9.The first device of claim 1, wherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that a transport block (TB) size or a duration of the transmission is equal to a multiple of a predefined gap, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.10.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates a transport block (TB) size for the transmission and whether to perform the transmission with at least one midamble; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on at least one of the scheduling information and the predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the scheduling information indicates to perform the transmission with the at least one midamble, determining whether the duration of the transmission is greater than a gap;based on determining that the duration of the transmission is greater than the gap,determining remaining chips by excluding a second number of chips, wherein the second number is equal to a multiple of the gap, and a third number of the remaining chips is less than the gap, andbased on determining that the third number of the remaining chips is greater than a threshold, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission; andbased on determining that the duration of the transmission is less than the gap and greater than the threshold, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.11.The first device of claim 8 or 10, wherein the scheduling information indicates the gap, and the threshold is predefined; orwherein the scheduling information indicates the gap, and the first device is further caused to determine a product of the gap and a predefined ratio as the threshold; orwherein the scheduling information indicates the gap and the threshold; orwherein the gap is predefined and the threshold is predefined; orwherein the scheduling information indicates the gap and the ratio, and the first device is further caused to determine a product of the gap and the ratio as the threshold.12.The first device of claim 1, wherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the scheduling information indicates to perform the transmission without at least one midamble, determining to perform the transmission without the midamble at the end of the transmission.13.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates a transport block (TB) size for the transmission and a first number of at least one midamble to be transmitted with the transmission; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information, whether to perform the transmission with or without the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the first number is equal to zero, determining to perform the transmission without the midamble at the end of the transmission.14.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates a transport block (TB) size for the transmission and a first number of at least one midamble to be transmitted with the transmission; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information and the predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission by:determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission based on determining the following:the first number is greater than zero, andthe TB size or a duration of the transmission is less than or equal to a product of the first number and a predefined gap.15.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates the following:a transport block (TB) size for the transmission,whether to perform the transmission with at least one midamble, anda ratio related to a predefined gap; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information and the predefined condition, whether to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission by:based on determining that the scheduling information indicates to perform the transmission with the at least one midamble, determining whether a duration of the transmission is greater than a product of the predefined gap and the ratio;based on determining that the duration of the transmission is greater than the product of the predefined gap and the ratio,determining remaining chips by excluding a fourth number of chips, wherein the fourth number is equal to a multiple of the product of the predefined gap and the ratio, and a third number of the remaining chips is less than the product of the predefined gap and the ratio, andbased on determining that the third number of the remaining chips is greater than a threshold, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission; andbased on determining that the duration of the transmission is less than the product of the predefined gap and the ratio and greater than the threshold, determining to perform the transmission with the midamble at the end of the transmission.16.The first device of claim 15, wherein the threshold is predefined or the scheduling information indicates the threshold.17.The first device of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information indicates the following:a transport block (TB) size for the transmission,a first number of at least one midamble to be transmitted with the transmission, anda ratio related to a predefined; andwherein the first device is caused to determine, based on the scheduling information and the predefined condition, whether to perform the
