Description

Cover assembly and battery

[0001] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202520468748.8, filed with the Chinese Patent Office on March 17, 2025, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field

[0002] This application relates to the field of battery technology, specifically to a cover plate assembly and a battery. Background Technology

[0003] Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in portable electronic devices and electric vehicles due to their high energy density and long cycle life. The basic charge and discharge structure of a lithium-ion battery consists of a cell pack with positive and negative tabs. However, the energy of a single cell pack is limited. Usually, multiple cell packs are connected in parallel to form a single cell, and the tabs of the cell pack are connected to the terminals of the cell using "battery pins". This provides a unified external electrode, improves load capacity, and simplifies assembly.

[0004] In related technologies, battery pins consist of a tab connection and a terminal connection. Under high vibration conditions, the connection between the tab connection and the terminal connection is prone to fatigue fracture, leading to shell cracking, airtightness failure, and even safety problems such as internal short circuits and overheating. Invention Overview

[0005] In high-vibration environments, the connection between the tab and the terminal post of the battery pin is prone to fatigue fracture, leading to shell cracking, airtightness failure, and even internal short circuits and overheating. Therefore, it is urgent to further optimize the battery pin to reduce the risk of fracture caused by external forces at the bending point.

[0006] In a first aspect, embodiments of this application provide a cover plate assembly, including:

[0007] Plastic parts, with mounting grooves;

[0008] The pin includes a first connecting portion, a second connecting portion, and a bent portion connecting the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion. Both the first connecting portion and the bent portion are embedded in the mounting groove. A limiting groove is formed on the side wall of the first connecting portion near the bent portion. The second connecting portion extends away from the mounting groove.

[0009] The plastic part includes a reinforcing portion located within the limiting groove, and the reinforcing portion is spaced apart from the bending portion and the first connecting portion.

[0010] Secondly, embodiments of this application provide a battery, comprising:

[0011] The shell has a receiving cavity;

[0012] A cover plate assembly for sealing the receiving cavity, the cover plate assembly including a plastic part and pins, the plastic part having an installation groove, the pins including a first connecting portion, a second connecting portion, and a bent portion connecting the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion, the first connecting portion and the bent portion being embedded in the installation groove, and a limiting groove being formed on the side wall of the first connecting portion near the bent portion, the second connecting portion extending away from the installation groove; wherein, the plastic part includes a reinforcing portion located within the limiting groove, the reinforcing portion being spaced apart from the bent portion and the first connecting portion;

[0013] The battery cell is located within the receiving cavity;

[0014] A protective film is located inside the receiving cavity and covers the outer surface of the battery cell;

[0015] The protective film includes multiple bending areas that extend along the length of the battery cell, and the bending areas are provided with indentations that extend along the length of the battery. Beneficial effects

[0016] This application provides a cover plate assembly and a battery. The cover plate assembly includes a plastic part and pins. The plastic part has an installation groove. The pins include a first connecting part, a second connecting part, and a bent part connecting the first connecting part and the second connecting part. The first connecting part and the bent part are both embedded in the installation groove. A limiting groove is formed on the side wall of the first connecting part near the bent part. The second connecting part extends away from the installation groove. By providing a reinforcing part in the plastic part located in the limiting groove, and the reinforcing part being spaced apart from the bent part and the first connecting part, the vibration resistance and impact resistance of the pins are improved, making the pins less prone to deformation and reducing the risk of the bent part of the pins breaking due to external force. [0039] This embodiment provides a cover plate assembly and a battery. These will be described in detail below. It should be noted that the order of description of the following embodiments is not intended to limit the preferred order of the embodiments.

[0040] Please refer to Figures 1 and 2; wherein, Figure 1 is an exploded view of the cover plate assembly provided in the embodiment of this application; and Figure 2 is a structural schematic diagram of the cover plate assembly provided in the embodiment of this application.

[0041] This embodiment provides a cover plate assembly 1, which includes a cover plate 11, a plastic part 12, pins 13, and pole posts 14. The plastic part 12 is disposed on one side of the cover plate 11 and has a mounting groove 1220. The pin 13 includes a first connecting portion 131, a second connecting portion 132, and a bent portion 133 connecting the first connecting portion 131 and the second connecting portion 132. The first connecting portion 131 and the bent portion 133 are both embedded in the mounting groove 1220, and the second connecting portion 132 extends away from the mounting groove 1220.

[0042] The plastic part 12 may include a first plastic part 121 and a second plastic part 122. The second plastic part 122 is disposed on the side of the cover plate 11 away from the first plastic part 121, and the mounting groove 1220 is formed on the side of the second plastic part 122 away from the cover plate 11. The first connecting part 131 may be a pole post connecting part, and the second connecting part 132 may be a pole lug connecting part. The first connecting part 131 and the bending part 133 are both embedded in the mounting groove 1220 and fixedly connected to the second plastic part 122.

[0043] The cover plate assembly 1 has an electrode mounting hole 110, the first plastic part 121 has a first through hole 1211, the cover plate 11 has a second through hole 111, the second plastic part 122 has a third through hole 1221, and the first connecting part 131 has a fourth through hole 1311; wherein, the first through hole 1211, the second through hole 111, the third through hole 1221 and the fourth through hole 1311 are interconnected and together constitute the electrode mounting hole 110.

[0044] The terminal post 14 is disposed within the terminal post mounting hole 110, and the terminal post 14 is welded to the first connecting part 131; wherein, the terminal post 14 is spaced apart from the cover plate 11 by the second plastic part 122, and the second plastic part 122 isolates the terminal post 14 from the cover plate 11 to prevent electrical connection between the terminal post 14 and the cover plate 11, thereby reducing the risk of external short circuit of the battery.

[0045] It should be noted that the terminal 14 includes a positive terminal and a negative terminal. Since the positive terminal and the negative terminal are conventional components in the battery, their structure and function have mature standardized designs in the industry. Furthermore, the technical solution of this embodiment does not involve any innovation or unique improvement, so this embodiment will not elaborate on them.

[0046] Specifically, the cover plate assembly 1 further includes a sealing ring 15 and a fixing block 16. The sealing ring 15 is disposed between the cover plate 11 and the pole post 14. The sealing ring 15 is sleeved on the outer periphery of the pole post 14, and the sealing ring 15 fills the gap between the second through hole 111 and the pole post 14 to ensure the sealing performance of the cover plate assembly 1.

[0047] The fixing block 16 is disposed on the side of the first plastic part 121 away from the cover plate 11. The fixing block 16 is provided with a riveting hole. The end of the pole post 14 away from the first connecting part 131 passes through the fourth through hole 1311, the third through hole 1221, the second through hole 111, and the first through hole 1211 in sequence and is riveted to the riveting hole, thereby improving the stability of the pole post 14.

[0048] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4; wherein, Figure 3 is a top view of the cover plate assembly provided in the embodiment of this application; and Figure 4 is a structural schematic diagram of the pins provided in the embodiment of this application.

[0049] In one embodiment, a limiting groove 1312 is formed on the side wall of the first connecting portion 131 near the bending portion 133. The limiting groove 1312 can serve as a stress relief groove for the pin 13, effectively relieving and dispersing stress concentration at the bending portion 133, thereby improving the tear resistance of the bending portion 133 and reducing the risk of breakage at the bending portion 133 due to external force.

[0050] It is understood that the bending portion 133 is usually a weak area of the pin 13, and stress concentration is easily generated under high vibration or external force, leading to fatigue or fracture of the bending portion 133. In this embodiment, by forming a limiting groove 1312 on the side wall of the first connecting portion 131 near the bending portion 133, a stress relief area can be formed near the bending portion 133, avoiding stress concentration and distributing it evenly to the connecting portion of the pin 13, thereby alleviating stress concentration in the bending portion 133, improving the tear resistance of the bending portion 133, reducing the risk of fracture of the bending portion 133 caused by external force, and thus improving the service life and stability of the pin 13.

[0051] Furthermore, the second plastic part 122 includes a reinforcing part 1222 located within the limiting groove 1312. The reinforcing part 1222 is spaced apart from the bending part 133 and the first connecting part 131, thereby improving the vibration resistance and impact resistance of the pin 13.

[0052] Specifically, the reinforcing part 1222 is disposed within the limiting groove 1312. The reinforcing part 1222, the bending part 133, and the first connecting part 131 are all spaced apart, thereby improving the rigidity of the pin 13. Under high vibration or external force, the reinforcing part 1222 and the bending part 133 can jointly withstand the external force, making the bending part 133 less prone to deformation and avoiding stress concentration in the bending part 133, thereby reducing the risk of deformation and breakage of the bending part 133. Furthermore, the reinforcing part 1222 can also serve as a limiting structure to prevent the relative position of the pin 13 and the mounting groove 1220 from shifting, reducing the probability of deformation of the pin 13 during installation, thereby improving the stability and durability of the pin 13.

[0053] The distance between the reinforcing part 1222 and the inner wall of the limiting groove 1312 is greater than 0 and less than or equal to 0.5 mm; further, the distance between the reinforcing part 1222 and the inner wall of the limiting groove 1312 can be 0.1 mm, 0.15 mm, 0.2 mm, 0.25 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.35 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.45 mm, and 0.5 mm, etc.

[0054] It is understandable that if the reinforcing part 1222 and the bending part 133 are positioned too close together, the bending part 133 may be subjected to excessive concentrated force, resulting in irreversible deformation of the bending part 133. In this embodiment, by spacing the reinforcing part 1222, the bending part 133, and the first connecting part 131, a buffer area can be provided for the bending part 133 when it deforms under force. This helps the bending part 133 release local stress, reduces direct impact on the bending part 133, and thus extends the service life and reliability of the pin 13.

[0055] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7; wherein, Figure 5 is an enlarged schematic diagram of point A in Figure 3 provided in the embodiment of this application; Figure 6 is a partial structural schematic diagram of the second plastic part provided in the embodiment of this application; and Figure 7 is a structural schematic diagram of the reinforcing part provided in the embodiment of this application.

[0056] In one embodiment, the first connecting portion 131 has a positioning hole 1313, which penetrates the first connecting portion 131. The cover plate assembly 1 further includes a positioning portion 17, which covers the positioning hole 1313. One end of the positioning portion 17 is inserted into the positioning hole 1313 and abuts against the inner wall of the positioning hole 1313. The mounting groove 1220 includes a groove bottom 12201 and a groove wall 12202 surrounding the edge of the groove bottom 12201. One end of the positioning portion 17 is fixedly connected to the groove bottom 12201 of the mounting groove 1220, thereby limiting the first connecting portion 131 and preventing the relative position of the pin 13 and the mounting groove 1220 from shifting, making the cover plate assembly 1 more robust and reliable.

[0057] Specifically, the positioning part 17 is inserted into the positioning hole 1313, and one end of the positioning part 17 is fixedly connected to the bottom 12201 of the mounting groove 1220, thereby restricting the first connecting part 131 from moving horizontally, preventing the relative position of the pin 13 and the mounting groove 1220 from shifting, and reducing the risk of deformation of the pin 13 during installation; in addition, the bottom 12201 of the mounting groove 1220 provides a stable support point, which allows the positioning part 17 to better disperse external forces and reduce local stress concentration.

[0058] Furthermore, under high vibration or external force, the positioning part 17 and the positioning hole 1313 are inserted and engaged, which can prevent structural damage caused by loosening of the positioning part 17; at the same time, it ensures that the fourth through hole 1311 and the third through hole 1221 are aligned, thereby improving the installation efficiency and accuracy of the pole post 14.

[0059] It should be noted that the horizontal direction can be the length direction of the cover plate assembly 1 and the width direction of the cover plate assembly 1. In this embodiment, the length direction of the cover plate assembly 1 can be the X direction in Figure 1, and the width direction of the cover plate assembly 1 can be the Y direction in Figure 1.

[0060] Furthermore, the cover plate 11 is provided with an explosion-proof valve mounting hole 112 and an injection hole 113, and the explosion-proof valve mounting hole 112 and the terminal mounting hole 110 are spaced apart; the cover plate assembly 1 also includes an explosion-proof valve 18 and an explosion-proof valve protection plate 19, the explosion-proof valve 18 and the explosion-proof valve protection plate 19 are stacked in sequence in the explosion-proof valve mounting hole 112, the explosion-proof valve 18 can automatically and quickly depressurize the battery when the internal pressure of the battery rises due to overcharging, over-discharging, overcurrent and internal short circuit, so as to balance the pressure accumulated inside the battery during charging and discharging and prevent the battery from exploding.

[0061] The second plastic part 122 has a size that is basically the same as that of the cover plate 11. The second plastic part 122 has an opening 1224 corresponding to the explosion-proof valve mounting hole 112. The opening 1224 allows gas to flow through, thereby increasing the opening performance of the explosion-proof valve 18 and making it convenient to use.

[0062] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. In one embodiment, the outer contour of the reinforcing part 1222 near the first connecting part 131 matches the outer contour of the limiting groove 1312. The outer contour of the reinforcing part 1222 near the first connecting part 131 is arc-shaped, and the arc of the outer contour of the reinforcing part 1222 near the first connecting part 131 is greater than or equal to π / 4Rad (Rad is a unit of radians, its formula is: arc length / radius), and greater than or equal to 11π / 6Rad. This allows for a smooth transition between the reinforcing part 1222 and the first connecting part 131, reducing the risk of breakage of the first connecting part 131.

[0063] Specifically, the outer contour of the reinforcing part 1222 near the first connecting part 131 is arc-shaped. The arc-shaped outer contour design allows the force to be evenly distributed along a relatively smooth curve when the reinforcing part 1222 is subjected to external force. Compared with straight lines or sharp angles, the arc-shaped structure can more effectively withstand external impacts and pressures, improving the strength and stability of the reinforcing part 1222. Furthermore, by controlling the size of the arc, it helps to improve the flexibility and impact resistance of the reinforcing part 1222, thereby reducing the risk of breakage or deformation due to excessive local stress.

[0064] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. In one embodiment, the reinforcing part 1222 is fixedly connected to the groove wall 12202. The reinforcing part 1222 includes a first sub-part 12221 and a second sub-part 12222. The second sub-part 12222 is located on the side of the first sub-part 12221 away from the groove bottom 12201. The side wall of the second sub-part 12222 is provided with a chamfer. The angle of the chamfer is greater than or equal to 45 degrees and less than 90 degrees, thereby reducing the frictional force generated when the pin 13 contacts the reinforcing part 1222 during assembly.

[0065] Specifically, the second sub-part 12222 has a first projected area on the orthographic projection of the mounting groove 1220, and the first sub-part 12221 has a second projected area on the orthographic projection of the mounting groove 1220; wherein the second projected area is greater than or equal to 1 / 20 of the first projected area, and the second projected area is less than or equal to the first projected area, thereby reducing the risk of wear on the first connecting part 131 during the assembly of the pin 13 due to the sharp sidewall of the second sub-part 12222 (e.g., a right-angle structure).

[0066] At the same time, the second sub-part 12222 has a relatively large projected area, and the second sub-part 12222 can better bear the vibration and impact from the outside, thereby reducing the vibration load borne by the first sub-part 12221 and thus improving the reliability of the cover plate assembly 1.

[0067] It is understood that by providing a chamfer on the sidewall of the second sub-part 12222, and the second projected area being greater than or equal to 1 / 20 of the first projected area, and the second projected area being less than or equal to the first projected area, this embodiment can reduce the frictional force generated when the pin 13 contacts the reinforcing part 1222 during assembly. At the same time, it can guide the first connecting part 131 to smoothly connect with the second sub-part 12222, improving assembly efficiency and accuracy, and reducing friction or damage that may be caused by mismatch. Furthermore, the chamfer design can provide a buffer area for the bent part 133 when it deforms under force, which helps the bent part 133 release local stress, reduces the direct impact on the bent part 133, and thus extends the service life and reliability of the pin 13.

[0068] Please refer to Figures 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9; wherein, Figure 8 is a partial cross-sectional schematic diagram of the cover plate assembly provided in the embodiment of this application; and Figure 9 is an enlarged view of point B in Figure 8 provided in the embodiment of this application.

[0069] In one embodiment, the second plastic part 122 further includes a hook portion 1223, which is disposed on the side wall of the mounting groove 1220 and engages with the first connecting portion 131, thereby enhancing the stability of the connection between the first connecting portion 131 and the second plastic part 122.

[0070] Specifically, the first connecting part 131 is engaged with the edge of the mounting groove 1220 by the hook part 1223. The hook part 1223 can fix the position of the first connecting part 131, ensuring that the first connecting part 131 will not shift or loosen along the thickness direction of the cover plate assembly 1 during the assembly process or under the action of external force, thereby improving the impact and vibration resistance of the pin 13, reducing the risk of deformation of the pin 13 due to vibration or external force, and making the cover plate assembly 1 more robust and reliable.

[0071] It should be noted that the number of the hook parts 1223 can be one or more. The number of the hook parts 1223 can be flexibly adjusted according to actual needs so as to provide a stable connection effect for the pin 13 in different application scenarios. At the same time, the thickness direction of the cover plate assembly 1 can be the Z direction in Figure 1.

[0072] Furthermore, the width of the orthographic projection of the hook portion 1223 onto the first connecting portion 131 is less than or equal to 5 mm, thereby ensuring the stability of the engagement between the hook portion and the first connecting portion 131 while reducing the space occupied by the hook portion 1223, avoiding unnecessary interference to other components (e.g., reducing contact or conflict between the hook portion and adjacent components), facilitating the installation and assembly of the pin 13, and thus improving the assembly accuracy and stability of the cover plate assembly 1.

[0073] Please refer to Figures 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14; wherein, Figure 10 is a structural schematic diagram of the battery provided in this application; Figure 11 is a structural schematic diagram of the protective film provided in this application; Figure 12 is a structural schematic diagram of the protective film in the unfolded state provided in this application; Figure 13 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of CC' in Figure 12 provided in this application; and Figure 14 is an enlarged view of D in Figure 13 provided in the embodiment of this application.

[0074] This application also provides a battery 2, including a casing 21, a cell 22, a protective film 23, and a cover assembly 1 as described in any of the above embodiments.

[0075] The housing 21 has a receiving cavity; the battery cell 22 is installed in the receiving cavity; the protective film 23 is located in the receiving cavity and covers the outer surface of the battery 2; the cover plate assembly 1 is used to seal the receiving cavity, and the cover plate assembly 1 is connected to the tab of the battery cell 22 through the second connecting part 132 of the pin 13.

[0076] It is understood that the cover plate assembly 1 has been described in detail in the above embodiments, and will not be repeated here.

[0077] The protective film 23 includes multiple bending areas 231, which extend along the length of the battery cell 22. Each bending area 231 has an indentation 232 extending along the length of the battery 2. This allows the protective film 23 to bend along the indentation 232 when covering the battery cell 22, preventing wrinkles, gaps, or irregular areas from forming during assembly. This ensures the protective film 23 can more precisely cover the battery cell 22, improving the assembly quality of the battery 2. The length direction of the battery 2 can be the X direction as shown in Figure 10.

[0078] Furthermore, the length and depth of the indentation 232 satisfy the following relationship: h = 0.3L + N; where h is the depth of the indentation 232, L is the length of the indentation 232, and N is a constant, and N > 0. This effectively controls the bending performance of the protective film 23, enabling it to better adapt to the shape of the battery cell 22 when covering it, and ensuring the adhesion effect of the protective film 23.

[0079] It should be noted that if the depth of the indentation 232 is too shallow, it may not be sufficient to guide the protective film 23 to bend accurately; if the depth of the indentation 232 is too large, it may cause the protective film 23 to be over-deformed, affecting the flexibility and durability of the protective film 23.

[0080] Specifically, this embodiment uses N as an example of 0.05 mm to illustrate an embodiment of this application. The depth of the indentation 232 and the length of the indentation 232 are directly proportional and satisfy the relationship: h = 0.3L + 0.05 mm. As the length of the indentation 232 increases, the depth of the indentation 232 also increases. By controlling the relationship between the length of the indentation 232 and the depth of the indentation 232, it is ensured that the protective film 23 maintains sufficient flexibility and strength during unfolding and covering, thereby improving the stability and durability of the protective film 23.

[0081] The shape of the cross-section of the indentation 232 includes, but is not limited to, a rectangle, a trapezoid, or an arc. The shape of the cross-section of the indentation 232 can be determined according to the shape of the battery cell 22, the material properties of the protective film 23, and the assembly requirements. This embodiment does not impose specific restrictions on this.

[0082] Furthermore, when the protective film 23 is in the unfolded state, the protective film 23 includes a first part 233, a second part 234, and a connecting film 235 connecting the first part 233 and the second part 234; wherein, the first part 233 and the second part 234 are disposed on the sidewall of the battery cell 22, and the connecting film 235 is disposed on the bottom of the battery cell 22, and the connecting film 235 connects the first part 233 and the second part 234 together, thereby ensuring the integrity of the protective film 23.

[0083] The connecting membrane 235 has multiple guide holes 2351. During the process of covering the battery cell 22, the guide holes 2351 are set with support rods on the outside of the battery cell 22. The support rods are inserted into the guide holes 2351 to fix the position of the protective membrane 23, ensuring that the positioning of the protective membrane 23 is more accurate, thereby reducing the error and adjustment time during the assembly process. It should be noted that the support rod is a support component used to provide positioning and fixation of the protective membrane 23 or other components during the assembly of the battery 2. The protective membrane 23 is connected to the support rod through the guide holes 2351, thereby ensuring the docking accuracy of the protective membrane 23 in protecting the battery cell 22.

[0084] Specifically, the guide hole 2351 is circular or elliptical in shape. The distance between the guide hole 2351 and the first part 233 is less than 20 mm, and the distance between the guide hole 2351 and the second part 234 is less than 20 mm. This prevents the protective film 23 from shifting or deforming during the process of covering the battery cell 22, ensuring that the protective film 23 can cover the battery cell 22 evenly and stably. It also prevents the protective film 23 from being unstable due to excessive distance between the guide hole 2351 and the first part 233 / second part 234, thereby improving assembly accuracy and work efficiency.

[0085] Furthermore, when the protective film 23 covers the battery cell 22, there is an overlap 230 between the first portion 233 and the second portion 234. At least a portion of the first portion 233 is located on the side of the second portion 234 away from the battery cell 22, or at least a portion of the second portion 234 is located on the side of the first portion 233 away from the battery cell 22. The width of the overlap 230 is greater than or equal to 5 mm and less than or equal to 10 mm, thereby ensuring that the protective film 23 can form a stable connection after covering the battery cell 22, preventing the protective film 23 from loosening or shifting during the covering process, ensuring complete coverage of the battery cell 22, and further improving the safety of the battery 2. At the same time, by setting the overlap 230, the tensile strength of the protective film 23 can be enhanced, so that the protective film 23 can better disperse stress when subjected to external force, preventing the film material from tearing or breaking, and extending the service life of the battery 2.

[0086] Specifically, the protective film 23 can be made of an insulating material. It is understood that the housing 21 is usually made of metal. If the housing 21 is in direct contact with the battery cell 22, it may cause a short circuit in the battery 2. In this embodiment, by setting the material of the protective film 23 to be an insulating material, the contact between the battery cell 22 and the housing 21 is isolated, thereby avoiding the occurrence of a short circuit and improving the safety performance of the battery 2.
