The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the caps by Injection molding, by injection -compression molding or by compression molding process. The invention also relates to mould for making this cap for the pry crown neck finish glass bottles & similar shape of neck with wedge & bead.

[0005] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0006] As is known, present metal crown caps application is not so easy to control glass bottle chip off while crimping & its uncontrolled threat to fall small glass chips inside container. Wide use of sustainable plastic caps (single piece polymer) & easy availability in the market along with cost effective & a substitute required was lacking from the inception of metal crown caps. (Two piece - metal crown & liner)

[0007] Innovated for the first time for the pry crown glass bottles with following features.

[0008] Single piece plastic cap for pry crown glass bottles neck finish

[0009] Can retain gas pressure inside the bottle

[0010] Temper proof design unable to counter fit.

[0011] While pull out or by bottle opener, snap ring will detach at slitting

[0012] Substitute for metal crown with liner cap

[0013] Sustainable with light weight & made of single polymer

[0014] Gas leak occurs after breaking of bridges onlyDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0015] Thus, the single piece plastic cap object of the present invention, is preferably constituted from plastic material with inside having bore plug seal and side seal to prevent the gas leak and locking of the snap ring on the neck finish.

[0016] Even though containers and caps currently available provide high reliability in terms of opening and closing functionality for consumers and cap application functionality for the alco beverage and beverage Producer. There is still a need for improving how the cap is shaped to achieve even better functionality with snap fit design and also to reduce the amount of material needed for producing the caps & its sustainability.

[0017] Cap application in an Alco-Beverage and beverage product filling machine if often made at very high speeds. Since failed cap application is likely to result in unwanted secondary effects. Such as glass chip off due to crown crimping, filling machine down time or increased product waste, the cap should also be shaped such that the filling machine, sometimes referred as the packaging machine, can reliably apply the cap onto a package smoothly. SUMMARY

[0018] It is an object of the invention to at least partly overcome one or more of the aboveidentified limitations of the prior art. In particular, it is an object in form of a cap that provides proper snap fit closing functionality for a consumer as well as offers reliable cap application in a filling machine.

[0019] Accord to a first aspect it is provided a single piece plastic cap for sealing a container by applying the top load on to the cap into a neck of the pry crown glass bottle. The cap compromises a top portion having an outer top surface & an inner wall surface, a cylindrical side wall portion having an outer side wall surface along the locking snap ring, the snap ring is configured to remain attached to the neck of the glass wedge and above the bead even when the cap is opened by an opener. Which locks the glass bottle neck profile with radially locking by side seals on the outside wall of the top corner and bore plug seals the inner wall of cylindrical glass surface. The cap includes a joining zone, where the temper evident snap is joined to the cap body. The joining zone is configured to be torn at least partly along a perimeter surrounding the longitudinal axis responsive to a displacement of the body away from the snap ring. It should be noted that the perimeter surrounding the longitudinal axis is preferably circular.

[0020] Secondly an advantage with the seals helps to restrict the inside gas volume leakage as well surrounding air entry inside of the package, both via the interaction between the side seal & bore seal annular sealing protrusion & the neck. As an effect the risk of having unwanted microorganisms entering into the package is also restricted.

[0021] Thirdly the locking snap ring of cap also lapped with neck profile to hold & proper sealing of the main seal & side seal without interfering the bottle inner top corner. Still otherobjectives, features, aspects and advantages of the invention will appear from the following detailed description as well as from the drawings.
