Description

Security devices, security systems, methods, and programs

[0001] This disclosure relates to security devices, security systems, methods, and programs, and more particularly to security devices, security systems, methods, and programs that can improve security and convenience by tracking the location of a person linked to a wireless terminal.

[0002] For identity verification (authentication), biometric authentication such as facial recognition, and authentication using IC cards or passwords are known. In addition, as location determination technology (location authentication technology), positioning technology using Received Signal Strength (RSS) and AoA (Angle of Arrival) is known. Biometric authentication is not 100% (percent), IC cards are susceptible to leakage or loss, and passwords are prone to being forgotten, so there were security issues. Furthermore, IC cards and passwords require additional steps from the user during authentication, so there were also issues with convenience.

[0003] Patent Document 1 discloses an authentication server that communicates with a mobile terminal having a biometric information input unit for inputting biometric information and restricts operations on a protected object, comprising: a receiving unit that receives biometric information input by the biometric information input unit of the mobile terminal and the location information of the mobile terminal from the mobile terminal via a communication device; a biometric information authentication unit that performs authentication by a processing unit to determine that the biometric information received by the receiving unit belongs to a predetermined user; a location authentication unit that performs authentication by a processing unit to determine that the mobile terminal is in a predetermined location based on the location information of the mobile terminal received by the receiving unit; and an operation permission unit that permits operations on the protected object by a processing unit when the biometric information authentication unit and the location authentication unit have authenticated each other. Patent Document 1 does not disclose security devices, etc., that can improve security and convenience by tracking the location of a person linked to a wireless terminal.

[0004] Patent Document 2 discloses that "a smart ECU is connected to a plurality of UWB communication devices, left and right side cameras, and a rear camera. Each UWB communication device transmits and receives impulse signals to and from a mobile terminal, thereby generating distance information to the mobile terminal and providing the distance information to the smart ECU. The smart ECU acquires the distance information from each UWB communication device to the mobile terminal, and analyzes a captured image of an external camera such as a side camera, thereby specifying the position of a person present in the vicinity of a vehicle. When the number of UWB communication devices that have succeeded in generating distance information to the mobile terminal is less than three, the smart ECU complementarily uses the distance information from each UWB communication device to the mobile terminal and position information of a person present in the vicinity of the vehicle to estimate the position of the mobile terminal". Patent Document 2 does not disclose a security device or the like that can improve security and convenience by tracking the position of a person associated with a wireless terminal.

[0005] Patent Document 3 discloses that "an information processing device includes: a captured biometric information acquisition unit that acquires biometric information of a subject obtained by imaging the subject; a terminal information acquisition unit that acquires biometric-related information related to the biometric information of the subject, which is obtained by imaging by an information processing terminal carried by the subject, from the information processing terminal; and an authentication unit that authenticates the subject using the biometric information of the subject acquired by the captured biometric information acquisition unit and the biometric-related information of the subject acquired by the terminal information acquisition unit". Patent Document 3 does not disclose a security device or the like that can improve security and convenience by tracking the position of a person associated with a wireless terminal.

[0006] Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. 2007-079777 Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. 2020-122726 International Publication No. WO 2024 / 189745

[0015] This embodiment will now be described with reference to the drawings. In each drawing, the same or corresponding elements are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant explanations will be omitted as necessary for clarity.

[0016] [Embodiment 1] <Security Device> Figure 1 is a block diagram illustrating a security device according to an embodiment. Figure 1 shows the minimum configuration of the embodiment.

[0017] As shown in Figure 1, the security device 11 according to this embodiment includes a location identification means 111, a biometric authentication means 112, an image analysis means 113, and a two-factor authentication means 114.

[0018] The location identification means 111 identifies the location of the wireless terminal 12 (see Figure 2, described later) by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12. The two-factor authentication means 114 pre-associates the wireless terminal 12 with a person by pre-linking the terminal ID (IDentifier) of the wireless terminal 12 with, for example, biometric information of the person using the wireless terminal 12. As a result, the location identification means 111 can identify the location of the person associated with the wireless terminal 12 by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12.

[0019] The biometric authentication means 112 performs biometric authentication based on whether or not the person's biometric information matches the person's pre-registered biometric information.

[0020] The video analysis means 113 tracks the movement of a person by analyzing the person's video.

[0021] The two-factor authentication means 114 acquires the person's location based on the location of the wireless terminal 12 identified by the location identification means 111, and also acquires the person's location obtained by the video analysis means 113 tracking the person's movement. The two-factor authentication means 114 performs location authentication of the person using at least one of the person's location linked to the wireless terminal 12 and the person's location obtained by analyzing the person's video. The biometric authentication means 112 performs biometric authentication using the person's video while the video analysis means 113 is tracking the person's movement. The two-factor authentication means 114 acquires the biometric authentication result from the biometric authentication means 112. The two-factor authentication means 114 performs location authentication and biometric authentication of the person while tracking the person's movement.

[0022] Here, person location authentication refers to the authentication of whether a person is present at a predetermined location. The location of a person can be determined, for example, by a wireless communication device using UWB wireless communication with a wireless terminal 12 owned by the person to identify the location of the wireless terminal 12, and then using that identified location as the person's location. Alternatively, for example, a video device can determine the person's location by analyzing the person's video footage.

[0023] The two-factor authentication means 114 performs location authentication of a person using at least one of the following: the location of the person linked to the wireless terminal 12 and the location of the person determined by analysis of the person's video. For example, until the location of the person is initially determined, the two-factor authentication means 114 determines the location of the wireless terminal 12 owned by the person by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12 via UWB. Subsequently, the two-factor authentication means 114 uses both the determination of the location of the wireless terminal 12 owned by the person and the determination of the person's location using the video device. If one of these methods fails to determine the person's location for any reason, the other method is used to determine the person's location.

[0024] According to this embodiment, two-factor authentication is performed using location authentication and biometric authentication of the person. As a result, since an IC card is not used, there is no risk of information leakage related to IC cards or loss of IC cards. Also, since a password is not used, there is no risk of forgetting a password. As a result, the security device 11 according to this embodiment can improve security and reduce the risk (probability) of allowing unauthorized access.

[0025] Furthermore, according to the embodiment, the movement of a person is tracked using at least one of the person's location linked to the wireless terminal 12 and the person's location obtained by analyzing the person's video, and then the person's location authentication is performed. As a result, the security device 11 according to the embodiment does not require any additional operation from the person (user), thus improving convenience.

[0026] As a result, it is possible to provide a security device that improves both security and convenience by tracking the location of a person linked to a wireless terminal. This tracking is sometimes referred to as "tracking," and the person is sometimes referred to as a "user."

[0027] Furthermore, wireless communication with the wireless terminal 12 can also use UWB (Ultra Wide Band) communication. This improves the accuracy of determining a person's location, thus improving the accuracy of person location recognition even in densely populated areas.

[0028] [Embodiment 2] <Security System> Figure 2 is a block diagram illustrating a security system according to the embodiment. Figure 2 shows an overview of the security system.

[0029] The security system 10 shown in Figure 2 differs from the security device 11 shown in Figure 1 in that some of the functions of the security device 11 are located outside the security device 11. For example, the "function of identifying the location of a person associated with a wireless terminal by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal" of the location identification means 111 of the security device 11 is provided in the "location identification means 131" of the wireless communication device 13 of the security system 10.

[0030] As shown in Figure 2, the security system 10 according to this embodiment includes a wireless terminal 12, a wireless communication device 13, a video device 14, and a security device 11.

[0031] The wireless terminal 12 has a linking means 121 for linking the wireless terminal 12 with a person. Here, the person is, for example, a user who owns and / or uses the wireless terminal 12.

[0032] The wireless communication device 13 has a location identification means 131 that identifies the location of a person associated with the wireless terminal 12 by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12.

[0033] The video device 14 has a video acquisition means 141 that acquires images of people.

[0034] The security device 11 includes a location identification means 111, a biometric authentication means 112, an image analysis means 113, and a two-factor authentication means 114.

[0035] The location determination means 111 obtains the person's location from the wireless communication device 13.

[0036] The biometric authentication means 112 performs biometric authentication based on whether or not the pre-registered biometric information of the person matches the biometric information of the person obtained via the wireless terminal 12.

[0037] The video analysis means 113 tracks the movement of a person by analyzing the video of the person acquired from the video device 14.

[0038] The two-factor authentication means 114 performs location authentication and biometric authentication of a person while tracking the person's movement. The two-factor authentication means 114 performs location authentication of a person using at least one of the following: the person's location linked to the wireless terminal 12 and the person's location obtained by analyzing the person's video.

[0039] In the security system 10 according to the embodiment, the location identification means 131 of the wireless communication device 13 identifies the location of a person associated with the wireless terminal 12 by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12. On the other hand, in the security device 11 according to the embodiment, the location identification means 111 of the security device 11 identifies the location of a person associated with the wireless terminal 12 by communicating wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12. Such a function for identifying a person's location using wireless communication may be included in the wireless communication device 13 or in the security device 11. Similarly, the person's image may be acquired from the video device 14 or acquired by the security device 11 itself.

[0040] As a result, in Embodiment 2 as well, it is possible to provide a security system that improves both security and convenience by tracking the location of a person linked to a wireless terminal.

[0041] <Example of access control to a workspace - upon entry to a designated area> Figure 3 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 4 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 5 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment.

[0042] Figure 3 shows the association between a wireless terminal and a person according to the embodiment. As shown in Figure 3, the associating means 121 of the wireless terminal 12 associates the wireless terminal 12 with user A in advance by associating the terminal ID of the wireless terminal 12 with the biometric information of the person (user A) in advance. The biometric information may be, for example, a facial photograph of user A himself. Further, instead of the terminal ID of the wireless terminal 12, for example, the MAC Address of the wireless terminal 12 may be used. Further, instead of the biometric information of user A, for example, the user ID (ID: 12345) of user A may be used. As the association method, the association may be performed using a mobile application (for employees) pre-installed on the wireless terminal 12. In Figure 3, a case where a facial photograph is used has been described as an example of the association method, but the present invention is not limited to this. In addition to the facial photograph, the fingerprint, voice, vein, etc. of user A may also be used.

[0043] Figure 4 shows the operation at an entrance of a predetermined area where entry by non-related persons is prohibited. As shown in Figure 4, the security device 11 of the security system 10 performs biometric authentication via the wireless terminal 12 at the entrance of the predetermined area. Specifically, the wireless terminal 12 registers a facial photograph of user A (ID: 12345) in advance. The biometric authentication means 112 of the security device 11 collates the pre-registered facial photograph (registered biometric information) of user A (ID: 12345) with the facial photograph (biometric information) of user A that was photographed for authentication and acquired via the wireless terminal 12. As a result of the collation, when the pre-registered facial photograph of user A matches the facial photograph of user A photographed for authentication, the security device 11 determines that the authentication is OK. As a result of the collation, when the pre-registered facial photograph of user A does not match the facial photograph of user A photographed for authentication, the security device 11 determines that the authentication is NG.

[0044] In Figure 4, a case of face authentication using a facial photograph as biometric authentication has been described as an example, but the present invention is not limited to this. Biometric authentication may be authentication using at least one of the face, fingerprint, voice, and vein of user A (the person).

[0045] The wireless communication device 13 identifies the position of user A associated with the wireless terminal 12 by performing wireless communication with the wireless terminal 12. Here, the wireless communication may be wireless communication using UWB (UWB communication). The position specifying means 111 of the security device 11 acquires the position of user A from the wireless communication device 13.

[0046] Figure 5 shows the operation of two-factor authentication according to the embodiment. As shown in Figure 5, the security device 11 of the security system 10 performs two-factor authentication consisting of position authentication of user A and biometric authentication of user A, and permits user A to enter a predetermined area when both the position authentication and the biometric authentication (face authentication) are OK. That is, when user A attempts to enter the predetermined area, if position authentication is obtained because user A is present at the entrance of the predetermined area (the terminal ID of the wireless terminal 12 is an ID permitted to enter the predetermined area) and biometric authentication of user A is obtained, the security device 11 permits user A to enter the predetermined area.

[0047] Accordingly, for example, even if a person other than user A (user B) attempts to enter the predetermined area using the wireless terminal 12, entry will not be permitted because biometric authentication (face authentication) will fail. In addition, even if user A attempts to enter the predetermined area using a wireless terminal other than the wireless terminal 12, entry will not be permitted because position authentication will fail. In this way, security can be improved by performing two-factor authentication.

[0048] <Example of entry / exit management for workspaces - After entering a predetermined area> Figure 6 is a diagram explaining the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 6 shows the operation after a person has entered a predetermined area.

[0049] As shown in Figure 6, the security system 10 tracks the movement of user A by analyzing the video of user A acquired from the video device 14. The security system 10 performs position authentication of user A and biometric authentication of user A while tracking the movement of user A.

[0050] The security system 10 detects the location of the wireless terminal 12 (the location of user A) by having the wireless communication device 13 communicate wirelessly with the wireless terminal 12 using UWB. The security system 10 also detects the location of user A by video analysis tracking of user A. The security system 10 performs location authentication of user A by using both location detection by UWB and location detection by video analysis tracking. That is, after user A enters a designated area, the security system 10 performs location detection by video analysis tracking and location detection by UWB.

[0051] In this embodiment, location detection using video analysis tracking and location detection using UWB are used in combination, improving the accuracy of location detection for user A. That is, a person (user A) who has undergone two-factor authentication at the entrance to a designated area is guaranteed to always be user A within that area. As a result, only authenticated user A is guaranteed to be present within the designated area, eliminating the need for additional authentication for user A within that area. Therefore, everything becomes possible without identity verification. Consequently, user A no longer needs to carry around authentication-required items, such as an employee ID card.

[0052] <Example of Tracking Interruption> Figure 7 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 7 shows an example of tracking interruption. Figure 8 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 8 shows the operation when tracking is interrupted according to the embodiment.

[0053] As shown in Figure 7, if the wireless communication between the wireless communication device 13 and the wireless terminal 12 is interrupted, the tracking of the movement of user A, which is linked to the wireless terminal 12, may be interrupted. In addition, if it becomes impossible to analyze user A's video, the tracking of user A's movement may be interrupted.

[0054] If at least one of the following occurs: a tracking interruption due to a wireless communication interruption or a tracking interruption due to the inability to analyze video, the security system 10 will perform location authentication and biometric authentication again. In this case, the security device 11 will notify the wireless terminal 12 that location authentication and biometric authentication must be performed again. Specifically, as shown in Figure 8, the security device 11 will notify the wireless terminal 12 of a message prompting it to re-link, such as "Tracking has been interrupted. Please re-link (associate)." The wireless terminal 12 will then display this message on its screen or otherwise. Instead of displaying a message, it may also emit a sound.

[0055] Figure 9 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 9 shows re-authentication according to the embodiment. Figure 10 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment. Figure 10 shows re-tracking according to the embodiment.

[0056] As shown in Figure 9, User A, having received a message prompting re-linking via the wireless terminal 12, performs location authentication and biometric authentication again using User A's work PC (Personal Computer) or access control terminal, etc. Note that at this time, automatic linking (location authentication and biometric authentication) may be performed when User A uses the work PC. This re-linking of location authentication and biometric authentication is sometimes referred to as re-authentication.

[0057] As shown in Figure 10, after re-authentication, the security system 10 re-tracks the movement of user A by wireless communication (UWB communication) with the wireless terminal 12 and by analyzing user A's video. For example, the system may periodically re-track and re-authenticate user A while they are moving using a video device 14 or wireless communication device 13 installed in the corridor of the building.

[0058] [Embodiment 3] Figure 11 is a diagram illustrating the operation of the security system according to the embodiment.

[0059] As shown in Figure 11, when attempting to authenticate User A (the actual user) standing in front of the security door at the entrance to a designated security area, there is a problem in that the wireless communication device 13 using UWB cannot distinguish between User A and (multiple) other people at the same distance.

[0060] Therefore, the security system 10 according to this embodiment calculates the change in distance between the wireless terminal 12 and the wireless communication device 13 that performs wireless communication, based on the movement trajectories of multiple people, including user A and other people, obtained from video footage (taken by the video device 14) of those people from the past to the present. The security system 10 also obtains the change in distance between the wireless terminal 12 and the wireless communication device 13, which are owned by multiple people, including user A and other people, and which is measured by the wireless communication device 13 using UWB communication. The security system 10 then identifies user A by comparing the change in distance obtained from the video footage of multiple people with the change in distance measured by the wireless communication device 13. For example, the security system 10 identifies user A by selecting the movement trajectory of the person whose difference between the change in distance obtained from the video footage of multiple people and the change in distance measured by the wireless communication device 13 is the smallest, as the movement trajectory of user A.

[0061] This makes it possible to determine (position) the location of user A even if there is only one wireless communication device 13 using UWB.

[0062] Furthermore, for example, when using TOA (Time of Arrival) to determine a person's location, at least three wireless communication devices (UWB wireless communication devices) are required, so using this embodiment improves convenience.

[0063] [Embodiment 4] Figure 12 is a block diagram illustrating a security device according to an embodiment.

[0064] As shown in Figure 12, the security device 11mp according to this embodiment includes at least one memory 11m for storing instructions and at least one processor 11p configured to process instructions.

[0065] The instruction stored in memory 11m and processed by processor 11p is a process that identifies the location of a person associated with wireless terminal 12 by communicating wirelessly with wireless terminal 12, performs biometric authentication based on whether the person's pre-registered biometric information matches the person's biometric information, tracks the person's movement by analyzing the person's video, performs location authentication and biometric authentication of the person while tracking the person's movement, and performs location authentication of the person using at least one of the person's location associated with wireless terminal 12 and the person's location obtained by analyzing the person's video.

[0066] Although the above embodiments describe the disclosure as a hardware configuration, the disclosure is not limited thereto. The disclosure can also be implemented by having a CPU (Central Processing Unit) execute a computer program to process each component.

[0067] In the above embodiment, the program can be stored and supplied to the computer using various types of non-transitory computer-readable medium. Non-transitory computer-readable mediums include various types of tangible storage mediums. Examples of non-transitory computer-readable mediums include magnetic recording media (specifically flexible disks, magnetic tapes, and hard disk drives), magneto-optical recording media (specifically magneto-optical disks), CD-ROMs (Read Only Memory), CD-Rs, CD-R / Ws, semiconductor memory (specifically mask ROMs, PROMs (Programmable ROMs), EPROMs (Erasable PROMs)), flash ROMs, and RAMs (Random Access Memory). Alternatively, the program may be supplied to the computer using various types of transient computer-readable mediums. Examples of transient computer-readable mediums include electrical signals, optical signals, and electromagnetic waves. Transitory computer-readable mediums can supply the program to the computer via wired communication channels such as electric wires and optical fibers, or via wireless communication channels.
