Abstract

To eliminate water penetration caused by rain entering through the hole (8) in facades or walls (9) provided for the installation of a split air conditioner, and the use of expanded polyurethane foam, it is proposed to use the invention, whose front portion (3) has a slight inclination and a hole (2) that is temporarily closed by a blocker (1), such that the first part is installed in the hole (8) from the outside of the facade or wall (9), press-fitted or bonded with silicone by means of the cylindrical section (4), with the cylindrical section (5) extending into the hole (8). The second one is fitted and bonded to the other side of the hole (8) by means of the cylindrical section (4), connecting the cylindrical section (7) to the cylindrical section (5), which was already inside the hole (8), thereby creating an inclination angle (6).

Description

[0001] Description

[0002] Rainwater protection systems for split air conditioner installations.

[0003] • This patent application relates to a rainwater protection system used in the installation hole of a split air conditioner, eliminating the entry of rainwater into the units in civil construction works and in the industrial area (claim 7).

[0004] • All construction and installation companies have a major problem with hole 8 in the facade or wall 9, left for the passage of copper pipes with thermal insulation, electrical cables, and condensate drain hose. After this assembly is passed through hole 8 in the facade or wall 9 and the installation is finished, expanded polyurethane foam is placed on the outside to prevent rainwater from entering through hole 8 and causing leaks inside residential, commercial, or industrial units. Over time, weathering, especially photodegradation caused by ultraviolet rays, leads to the fragmentation of the polyurethane, rendering the application ineffective.

[0005] • The invention is used directly in hole 8 left for the installation of the split air conditioner, eliminating 100% of rainwater ingress and the use of expanded polyurethane foam.

[0006] • The invention was created to ensure that rainwater does not enter through hole 8 in the facade or wall 9, left for the installation of the split air conditioner. In this way, construction companies and installers will eliminate the cost of repairs caused by leaks after construction, eliminating rework even after the 5-year warranty that is usually provided by these companies. The system can be produced from thermoplastic or thermosetting polymers, copolymers, composites, nanocomposites, and metals (claim 5). If produced using polymer-based raw materials, they will be manufactured by injection molding machines or 3D printers (claim 6).

[0007] • The main objective of this invention is to eliminate 100% of rainwater ingress through holes in the facade or wall after the installation of copper pipes encased in thermal insulation, electrical cables, or even the condensate drain hose left for the installation of a split air conditioner.

[0008] • The invention is installed in parts; the first part, shown in Figure 1, is installed in hole 8 from the outside of the facade or wall 10, and the second part, shown in Figure 2, is connected under pressure to the first part of the system, which is located inside hole 8 from the inside of the unit, as shown in Figure 5.

[0009] • The invention is easily adaptable to the holes 8 left in facades or walls 10. These can be made by drilling in concrete with a diamond system, with a nylon cylinder, or by any commercial through hole that leaves the hole with the desired length and diameter. The system has a geometry that provides perfect installation in the hole from both sides, and can have any design of the front part (claim 2) that faces the wall or facade. The use of the invention eliminates post-construction rework caused by rainwater infiltration. • The invention will significantly contribute to global sustainability by eliminating the large amount of waste generated by the use of expanded polyurethane foam, including the disposal of the polymer itself and the aerosol can in all construction projects.

[0010] • The inventive system is applied as follows: the first part has its front 3 with a slight inclination and a hole 2 that will be temporarily closed by a blocker 1; in this way, the first part is installed in the hole 8 from the outside of the facade or wall 9, under pressure or glued with silicone by the cylindrical section 4, bringing the cylindrical section 5 inside the hole 8. The second part also has its front 3 with a slight inclination and a hole 2 that will be temporarily closed by a blocker 1; in this way, the second part is fitted or glued to the other side of the hole 8 by the cylindrical section 4, connecting the cylindrical section 7 to the cylindrical section 5, which was already inside the hole 8, generating an angle of inclination 6 between the two parts (claim 1).

[0011] • When installing the split air conditioner, the temporary blocker 1, which can have any shape and design (claim 3), must be removed from the system on both sides to allow passage of the copper pipes with thermal insulation, electrical cables, and condensate drain hose. The angle inclination 6 is the most important factor of this invention because it eliminates 100% of rainwater entering by gravity (claims 1 and 4).

[0012] • The invention will be described in greater detail below, as shown in the Figures. • It shows:

[0013] • In Figure 1, the first part of the rainwater protection system for the installation of a split air conditioner.

[0014] • In Figure 2, the second part of the rainwater protection system for the installation of a split air conditioner.

[0015] • In Figure 3, the complete system is shown connected to protect against rainwater for the installation of a split air conditioner.

[0016] • In figure 4, the hole in the facade or wall.

[0017] • In Figure 5, a side view of the rainwater protection system for the installation of a split air conditioner installed in a hole in the facade or wall.
