[0020] Communication system architecture
[0021] Figure 1 is a system architecture example diagram of a wireless communication system 100 to which embodiments of this application can be applied. The wireless communication system 100 may include a network device 110 and a terminal device 120. The network device 110 may be a device that communicates with the terminal device 120. The network device 110 may provide communication coverage for a specific geographical area and may communicate with the terminal device 120 located within that coverage area.
[0022] Figure 1 illustrates an exemplary network device and two terminal devices. Optionally, the wireless communication system 100 may include multiple network devices, and each network device may include other numbers of terminal devices within its coverage area. This application embodiment does not limit this.
[0023] Optionally, the wireless communication system 100 may also include other network entities such as a network controller and a mobility management entity, which is not limited in this embodiment.
[0024] It should be understood that the technical solutions of the embodiments of this application can be applied to various communication systems, such as: 5th generation (5G) systems or new radio (NR), long term evolution (LTE) systems, LTE frequency division duplex (FDD) systems, LTE time division duplex (TDD) systems, etc. The technical solutions provided in this application can also be applied to future communication systems, such as 6th generation mobile communication systems, satellite communication systems, and so on.
[0025] The terminal device in this application embodiment can also be referred to as user equipment (UE), access terminal, user unit, user station, mobile station, mobile station (MS), mobile terminal (MT), remote station, remote terminal, mobile device, user terminal, terminal, wireless communication device, user agent, or user device. For example, the UE can act as a scheduling entity, providing sidelink signals between UEs in V2X or D2D, etc. For example, cellular phones and cars communicate with each other using sidelink signals. Cellular phones and smart home devices communicate without relaying communication signals through a base station.

This network device can also be called an access network device or a wireless access network device, such as a base station. In this application embodiment, the network device can refer to a radio access network (RAN) node (or device) that connects the terminal device to the wireless network. A base station can broadly encompass, or be replaced by, various names including: NodeB, evolved NodeB (eNB), next-generation NodeB (gNB), relay station, transmitting and receiving point (TRP), transmitting point (TP), master MeNB, auxiliary SeNB, multi-mode radio (MSR) node, home base station, network controller, access node, wireless node, access point (AP), transmission node, transceiver node, baseband unit (BBU), remote radio unit (RRU), active antenna unit (AAU), remote radio head (RRH), central unit (CU), distributed unit (DU), positioning node, etc. A base station can be a macro base station, micro base station, relay node, donor node, or similar, or a combination thereof. Base stations can support networks using the same or different access technologies. The embodiments of this application do not limit the specific technologies or device forms used in the network equipment.

In other examples, a helicopter or drone can be configured as a device to communicate with another base station.
[0028] In some deployments, the network device in this application embodiment may refer to a CU or a DU, or the network device may include both a CU and a DU. The gNB may also include an AAU.
[0029] Network devices and terminal devices can be deployed on land, including indoors or outdoors, handheld or vehicle-mounted; they can also be deployed on water; and they can also be deployed in the air on airplanes, balloons, and satellites. This application does not limit the scenario in which the network devices and terminal devices are located.
[0030] It should be understood that all or part of the functions of the communication device in this application can also be implemented by software functions running on hardware, or by virtualization functions instantiated on a platform (e.g., a cloud platform).
[0031] DSR mechanism
[0032] In communication systems (such as NR systems), network devices can configure a Data Sorting Response (DSR) mechanism for terminal devices. After configuring the DSR mechanism, terminal devices can report DSR-related information to the network device when the DSR reporting conditions are met. For example, a terminal device can report latency information and the corresponding data volume information to the network device when the DSR reporting conditions are met. Reporting DSR-related information helps the network device understand the remaining latency of the data and / or assists the network device in scheduling.
[0033] It should be noted that the data volume information reported by the terminal device may include the amount of delay-critical data. Delay-critical data refers to data whose remaining delay in the packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) discard timer is less than a certain threshold.
[0034] In some embodiments, whether to trigger DSR is determined based on whether the remaining delay of the PDCP discard timer is less than a certain threshold.
[0035] When a network device activates PSI-based discard, PDU sets with lower importance will maintain a discardTimerForLowImportance timer. Consequently, such packets, even if they have a small remaining delay, will not be included in the DSR triggering or the amount of data reported by the DSR.
[0036] DSR
[0037] The DSR procedure is used to provide the LCG's delay status to the serving gNB (base station). For an LCG, its delay status includes the remaining time and the total amount of uplink data corresponding to the LCG's delay threshold. The remaining time refers to the minimum remaining value of the PDCP drop timer running in the PDCP service data unit (SDU) buffered for the LCG but not yet transmitted in any medium access control (MAC) PDU. The total amount of uplink data corresponding to the LCG's delay threshold is calculated using the data volume calculation procedures specified for the relevant radio link control (RLC) and PDCP entities, respectively. (The Delay Status Reporting(DSR) procedure is used to provide the serving gNB with delay status of LCGs. This delay status for an LCG includes remaining time, which is the smallest remaining value of the running PDCP discardTimers among PDCP SDUs that are buffered for the LCG but have not been transmitted in any MAC PDU, and the total amount of delay-critical UL data for the LCG according to the data volume calculation procedure specified for the associated RLC and PDCP entities, respectively.)
[0038] Radio resource control (RRC) controls the DSR procedure by configuring the following parameters:
[0039] RemainingTimeThreshold (per LCG): The threshold on remaining time for triggering a DSR for a logical channel within an LCG.
[0040] If a delay status reporting (DSR) is configured for an LCG, the MAC entity shall perform the following operations for each logical channel within the LCG:
[0041] 1> If the smallest remaining value of the running PDCP discardTimers among all the PDCP SDUs buffered for the logical channel that have not been transmitted in any MAC PDU and have not been reported as data volume in a DSR MAC CE becomes below the remaining TimeThreshold of the LCG; and
[0042] 1> If there is no pending DSR for the logical channel:
[0043] 2> Trigger a DSR for the logical channel.
[0044] If there is at least one DSR pending, the MAC entity shall execute:
[0045] 1> If UL-SCH resources are available for a new transmission and can accommodate the DSR MAC CE and its subheader due to logical channel prioritization:
[0046] 2> Instruct the multiplexing and assembly procedure to generate the DSR MAC CE.
[0047] 1> Otherwise, if there is no pending SR already triggered by the DSR procedure for the same logical channel as this DSR:
[0048] 2> Trigger a Scheduling Request.
[0049] It should be noted that the availability of UL-SCH resources for the transmission of the DSR MAC CE follows the same criteria specified in clause 5.4.5.
[0050] A PDCP SDU is considered to be associated with a DSR if it has not been transmitted in any MAC PDU and is a delay-critical PDCP SDU associated with the logical channel which triggered the DSR.
[0051] A MAC PDU should contain at most one DSR MAC CE. A MAC PDU should not contain a DSR MAC CE if it includes all PDCP SDUs associated with all the pending DSRs.
[0052] After a DSR is triggered, it is considered pending until it is cancelled. The MAC entity shall cancel a pending DSR when all the PDCP SDUs associated with the DSR have been discarded, or when a MAC PDU is transmitted and this MAC PDU includes a DSR MAC CE that contains the delay information of all the PDCP SDUs associated with the DSR, or when a MAC PDU is transmitted and this MAC PDU includes all the PDCP SDUs associated with the DSR.
[0053] It should be noted that if the MAC PDU can accommodate all PDCP SDUs associated with all pending DSRs, but is insufficient to accommodate the additional DSR MAC CE and its subheadings, then whether to include the DSR MAC CE in the MAC PDU is determined by the UE implementation (NOTE 2:).
[0054] It is up to UE implementation whether the MAC entity includes a DSR MAC CE in a MAC PDU if the MAC PDU can accommodate all PDCP SDUs associated with all the pending DSRs but is not sufficient to additionally accommodate the DSR MAC CE plus its subheader).
[0055] DSR MAC CE
[0056] The Delay Status Report (DSR) MAC CE is identified by the MAC subheader with an eLCID.
[0057] Figure 2 shows an example of a DSR MAC CE. As shown in Figure 2, a DSR MAC CE contains one or more of the following fields: LCG i Remaining time, buffer type (BT), buffer size, reserved field (identified by R).
[0058] The fields in the DSR MAC CE are defined as follows:
[0059] LCG i This field indicates LCG i The existence of delay information (i.e., the remaining time and buffer size fields). LCG i Setting the field to 1 indicates that the report LCG is being submitted. i Delay information. LCG i Setting the field to 0 indicates that LCG is not reported. i Delay information (LCG) i :This field indicates the presence of delay information(iethe Remaining Time and Buffer Size fields)for the LCG i The LCGi field set to 1indicates that the delay information for the LCG i is reported.The LCG i field set to 0indicates that the delay information for the LCG i is not reported);
[0060] Remaining Time: This field indicates the minimum remaining value of the PDCP drop timers running in all PDCP SDUs that are LCG buffered but have not yet been transmitted in any MAC PDU, at the time the first symbol is transmitted on the first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) of this DSR MAC CE. This field is 6 bits long. This field exists only if the buffer size indicated by the corresponding buffer size field is not zero; otherwise, this field is reserved and set to 0. If present, the value r in this field indicates the remaining time in the range of (r, r+1) milliseconds. by the corresponding Buffer Size field is not zero; otherwise, this field is reserved and set to 0.If present, the value r in this field indicates a remaining time within the range of (r, r+1]msec);
[0061] BT: This field exists only if the corresponding LCG is configured with additional BS-TableAllowed and the buffer size indicated by the corresponding Buffer Size field is not zero; otherwise, this field is reserved and set to 0. If present, the BT field set to 1 indicates that the buffer sizes specified in Table 6.1.3.1-3 are used to set the value of the Buffer Size field, while the BT field set to 0 indicates that the buffer sizes specified in Table 6.1.3.1-2 are used instead.
[0062] Buffer Size: The Buffer Size field indicates the total latency-critical uplink data volume of the LCG, calculated according to the data volume calculation procedure specified for the relevant RLC and PDCP entities, after the MAC PDU is built. If the corresponding LCG is configured with an additional BS-TableAllowed and the latency-critical uplink data volume of the LCG is within the buffer size specified in Table 6.1.3.1-3, the MAC entity should use the buffer size specified in Table 6.1.3.1-3 to set the value of this field; otherwise, the MAC entity should use Table 6.1.3.1-2. This field is indicated in bytes. The length of this field is 8 bits (Buffer Size: The Buffer Size field indicates the total amount of delay-critical UL data for an LCG according to the data volume calculation procedure for the associated RLC and PDCP entities,respectively, after the MAC PDU has been built. If the corresponding LCG is configured with additionalBS-TableAllowed and the amount of delay-critical UL data for an LCG is within the buffer sizes specified in Table6.1.3.1-3, the MAC entity shall use the buffer sizes specified in Table 6.1.3.1-3to set the value of this field; otherwise, the MAC entity shall use Table 6.1.3.1-2instead.This field is indicated in number of bytes.The length of this field is 8bits);
[0063] R: Reserved bit, set to 0.
[0064] When constructing a MAC PDU containing this DSR MAC CE, the DSR MAC CE should include latency information for all LCGs with pending DSRs. The remaining time, BT, and buffer size fields of the LCG should be reported in two consecutive bytes. These three fields should be specified for different LCGs. i The DSR MAC CE shall include delay information of all LCGs which have pending DSRs when the MAC PDU containing this DSR MAC CE is to be built. The Remaining Time, the BT, and the Buffer Size fields for an LCG shall be reported in two consecutive octets. These three fields for different LCGs shall be included in a DSR MAC CE in ascending order based on the LCG i ).
[0065] Delay-critical PDCP SDU: If pdu-SetDiscard is not configured, it represents a PDCP SDU for which the remaining time until discardTimer expiry is less than the remainingTimeThreshold. If pdu-SetDiscard is configured, it represents a PDCP SDU belonging to a PDU Set of which at least one PDCP SDU has the remaining time until discardTimer expiry less than the remainingTimeThreshold.
[0066] Data volume calculation for DSR
[0067] For the purpose of MAC delay status reporting, the transmitting PDCP entity shall consider the following as delay-critical PDCP data volume:
[0068] The delay-critical PDCP SDUs for which no PDCP Data SDUs have been constructed;
[0069] PDCP Data PDUs that contain the delay-critical PDCP SDUs and have not yet been submitted to lower layers;
[0070] PDCP controls PDCPUs (PDCP Control PDUs);
[0071] For AM DRBs, the PDCP SDUs are retransmitted.
[0072] For AM DRBs, the PDCP Data PDUs are retransmitted.
[0073] When the transmitting PDCP entity provides a delay-critical indication for the PDCP Data PDU to lower layers:
[0074] The PDCP data PDU has been submitted to lower layers, and the corresponding PDCP SDU has become a delay-critical PDCP SDU; or
[0075] The PDCP data PDU is submitted to lower layers, and the corresponding PDCP SDU is already a delay-critical PDCP SDU.
[0076] If the transmitting PDCP entity is associated with at least two RLC entities, when indicating the delay-critical PDCP data volume to a MAC entity for DSR triggering and buffer size calculation, the transmitting PDCP entity shall:
[0077] If PDCP duplication is activated for the RB:
[0078] Indicate the delay-critical PDCP data volume to the MAC entity associated with the primary RLC entity;
[0079] Indicate the delay-critical PDCP data volume excluding the PDCP Control PDU to the MAC entity associated with the RLC entity other than the primary RLC entity activated for PDCP duplication;
[0080] The delay-critical PDCP data volume is 0 to the MAC entity associated with the RLC entity deactivated for PDCP duplication.
[0081] Otherwise (i.e., PDCP replication of the RB is not activated):
[0082] If a split secondary RLC entity is configured; and
[0083] If the total amount of PDCP data volume and RLC data volume pending initial transmission in the primary RLC entity and the split secondary RLC entity is equal to or greater than ul-DataSplitThreshold:
[0084] Indicate the delay-critical PDCP data volume to both the MAC entity associated with the primary RLC entity and the MAC entity associated with the split secondary RLC entity.
[0085] Indicate the delay-critical PDCP data volume as 0 to the MAC entity associated with the RLC entity other than the primary RLC entity and the split secondary RLC entity;
[0086] otherwise:
[0087] Indicate the delay-critical PDCP data volume to the MAC entity associated with the primary RLC entity;
[0088] Indicate the delay-critical PDCP data volume as 0 to the MAC entity associated with the RLC entity other than the primary RLC entity.
[0089] Delay-critical RLC SDU: The RLC SDU corresponding to a PDCP PDU indicated as delay-critical by PDCP.
[0090] Data volume calculation
[0091] For the purpose of MAC buffer status reporting, the UE shall consider the following as RLC data volume:
[0092] RLC SDUs and RLC SDU segments that have not yet been included in an RLC data PDU;
[0093] RLC data PDUs that are pending for initial transmission;
[0094] RLC data PDUs that are pending for retransmission (RLC AM)
[0095] For the purpose of MAC delay status reporting, the UE shall consider the following as delay-critical RLC data volume:
[0096] Delay-critical RLC SDUs and delay-critical RLC SDU segments that have not yet been included in an RLC data PDU;
[0097] RLC data PDUs pending for initial transmission, and containing a delay-critical RLC SDU or a delay-critical RLC SDU segment;
[0098] RLC data PDUs that are pending for retransmission (RLC AM)
[0099] In addition, if a STATUS PDU has been triggered and t-StatusProhibit is not running or has expired, the UE shall estimate the size of the STATUS PDU that will be transmitted in the next transmission opportunity, and consider this as part of the RLC data volume for MAC buffer status reporting and as part of the delay-critical RLC data volume for MAC delay status reporting.
[0100] DSR enhancement in extended reality (XR)
[0101] In XR research, enhancements to latency scheduling are considered. These enhancements primarily include: improved support for uplink scheduling to achieve high XR capacity while meeting latency requirements and avoiding excessively late PDUs. For example, specifying additional logical channel priority processing using packet delay / deadline information. Another example is specifying enhanced DSR for LCGs with multiple pairs of remaining time and buffer size.
[0102] DSR enhancement considers reporting multiple pairs of latency information and corresponding data volume information to network devices for a single LCG, in order to help the network understand more granular data volume and remaining time. This facilitates better uplink scheduling by the network, enabling the timely transmission of latency-sensitive data from terminal devices.
[0103] The following conclusions were agreed upon during several RAN2 meetings.
[0104] 1. The network should be able to configure multiple remaining time thresholds for each LCG to report multiple pairs of remaining time and buffer size for each LCG.
[0105] 2. For the enhanced DSR, there will be a single trigger threshold.
[0106] 3. For DSR, cached data is divided into multiple parts based on the multiple reporting time threshold levels configured for LCG. DSR indicates the following information for each part, where BS>0: the amount of data in each part, the cache size, and the shortest remaining time among the cached PDCP SDUs in each part.
[0107] 4. A 1-bit indication can indicate whether a specific / further remaining time information and buffer size information pair with the associated LCG exists in the new DSR MAC CE.
[0108] 5. Allow the network to configure trigger and reporting thresholds without restrictions.
[0109] 6. Terminal devices can support including non-delay critical data before delay critical data in the DSR buffer size calculation, which is an ability to be indicated to network devices.
[0110] For an LCG (consisting of multiple logical channels (LCHs)), a network device can specify a triggering threshold and multiple reporting thresholds. These thresholds are used by terminal devices to report multiple pairs of delay information and corresponding data volume information for an LCG via DSR MAC CE. The relationship between the triggering threshold and the multiple reporting thresholds is unrestricted and depends entirely on the network configuration.
[0111] In other words, for an LCG, the data cached in the terminal device's buffer will be divided into multiple portions based on multiple reporting thresholds. For each portion with a cached data volume greater than 0, the following information will be reported via DSR MAC CE: the data volume of each portion and the shortest remaining time in the cached PDCP SDU within each portion.
[0112] In addition, for DSR data volume calculation, the terminal device can support including some non-delay critical data before the delay critical data in the buffer.
[0113] As described above, in previous versions, when terminal devices reported DSR, they reported LCG information per LCG. For each LCG, at most one data volume and one latency information were carried. Specifically, for an LCG, the data volume is the total data volume of that LCG, and its size is the critical data information. For a given LCG, the control PDUs and retransmission data (such as retransmission PDUs) in a specific LCH associated with that LCG are classified as part of the critical data.
[0114] After introducing multiple parts of information reporting in DSR, for a given LCG, the terminal device can report the data volume and corresponding latency information for multiple parts. In this scenario, how the terminal device reports DSR becomes a problem that needs to be solved. For example, if an LCG or a specific LCH within that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data, how the terminal device reports DSR is a pressing issue. Similarly, if an LCG has only one LCH that needs to report or trigger delay status (DS) information, or if each of at least two LCHs in an LCG needs to report or trigger DS information, how the terminal device reports DSR is another crucial issue.
[0115] The following describes the solution of this application in conjunction with Embodiment 1 and Embodiment 2. Embodiment 1 aims to address the problem of how a terminal device should report DSR when a certain LCG or a certain LCH within that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data. Embodiment 2 aims to address the problem of how a terminal device should report DSR when only one LCH in a certain LCG needs to report or trigger DS information, or when each of at least two LCHs in a certain LCG needs to report or trigger DS information.
[0116] Example 1:
[0117] Figure 3 is a flowchart illustrating the communication method provided in an embodiment of this application. The method shown in Figure 3 is described from the perspective of interaction between a terminal device and a network device. The terminal device and network device can be, for example, the terminal device 120 and network device 110 shown in Figure 1. The method shown in Figure 3 includes step S310, which will be described below.
[0118] In step S310, the terminal device sends a DSR to the network device.
[0119] In some embodiments, the DSR can be carried via a MAC CE. That is, the terminal device can send a DSR MAC CE to the network device.
[0120] In some embodiments, the DSR may include information about the first LCG (or, the DS information of the first LCG). This application does not limit the information of the first LCG. Exemplarily, the information of the first LCG includes one or more of the following: data volume information of the first LCG, latency information of the first LCG, data volume information of the LCH in the first LCG, and latency information of the LCH in the first LCG.
[0121] In some embodiments, information of the first LCG may be reported in one or more parts. For example, information of the first LCG may be reported in one part. Alternatively, information of the first LCG may be reported in multiple parts. In some embodiments, reporting information of the first LCG in one or more parts may include: the information of the first LCG may be reported in one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG, or in other words, the information of the first LCG may be carried in one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG.
[0122] In some embodiments, if the first LCH in the first LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data (i.e., no new transmission data), then the information of the first LCG does not include the information of the first LCH. That is, if the first LCH in the first LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the terminal device does not report the information of the first LCH (such as data volume information and / or latency information). Alternatively, if the first LCH in the first LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the terminal device does not include (or does not count) the information of the first LCH when calculating the information of the first LCG, or the terminal device does not carry the information of the first LCH in the information of the first LCG it reports. Or, if the first LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data, or if all LCHs in the first LCG only contain control PDUs and / or retransmission data, then the terminal device does not report the information of the first LCG. The terminal device not reporting the information of LCHs containing only control PDUs and / or retransmission data simplifies implementation and avoids complex terminal device behavior.
[0123] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the first LCG is 5ms or 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 5ms. The first LCG includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDU and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission data (i.e., LCH1 is the first LCH). The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits. LCH2 contains at least newly transmitted data. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report two parts of information in the DSR (e.g., part 1, with a corresponding latency of less than or equal to 5ms, its data volume is 30 bits, and the reporting latency is 5ms; part 2, with a corresponding latency of greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, its data volume is 60 bits, and the reporting latency is 8ms), the terminal device does not include LCH1 information in the information of the first LCG reported (or in the DSR). In other words, the terminal device only includes LCH2 information in the information of the first LCG reported.
[0124] In some embodiments, if the second LCG or the LCHs within the second LCG (such as all (or all) LCHs in the second LCG) contain only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, then the DSR does not include information about the second LCG. That is, if the second LCG or the LCHs within the second LCG contain only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the terminal device does not report information about the second LCG. Taking an LCG counted by the terminal device that includes both the first and second LCGs as an example, if the second LCG or the LCHs within the second LCG contain only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, then the DSR only includes information about the first LCG and not information about the second LCG. The terminal device not reporting information about LCGs containing only control PDUs and / or retransmission data simplifies implementation and avoids complicating the behavior of the terminal device.
[0125] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the second LCG is 5ms, 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 6ms. The second LCG includes LCH1. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission data. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits. The DSR reported by the terminal device (or the LCG information carried in the DSR MAC CE) does not include the information of the second LCG (or only includes the information of the first LCG).
[0126] In some embodiments, the control PDU mentioned in this application may include PDCP and / or RLC control PDU.
[0127] In some embodiments, the retransmitted data mentioned in this application may include PDCP and / or RLC retransmitted data. For example, the retransmitted data may include one or more of the following: PDCP and / or RLC retransmitted PDU, PDCP and / or RLC retransmitted SDU, and PDCP and / or RLC retransmitted SDU segment.
[0128] In some embodiments, if the first LCH in the first LCG contains only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, then the information of the first LCG includes the information of the first LCH.
[0129] In some embodiments, if the second LCG or the LCH in the second LCG contains only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, then the DSR contains information about the second LCG.
[0130] In some embodiments, if the first LCH in the first LCG contains only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, and the information of the first LCG includes the information of the first LCH, then if the second LCG or the LCH in the second LCG contains only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the DSR may or may not contain the information of the second LCG.
[0131] In some embodiments, if the first LCH in the first LCG contains only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, and the information of the first LCG does not include the information of the first LCH, then if the second LCG or the LCH in the second LCG contains only control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the DSR may or may not contain the information of the second LCG.
[0132] The following section describes how to carry the information of the first LCH when the information of the first LCG includes the information of the first LCH, and / or how to carry the information of the second LCG when the DSR includes the information of the second LCG.
[0133] In some embodiments, information of the first LCH may be carried in a first portion corresponding to one or more portions of the first LCG; and / or, information of the second LCG may be carried in a first portion corresponding to one or more portions of the second LCG and / or the first LCG.
[0134] For example, the information of the first LCH can be carried in the first part of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG.
[0135] For example, the information of the second LCG can be carried in the first part of one or more parts corresponding to the second LCG.
[0136] For example, the information of the second LCG can be carried in the first part of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG. As an example, when one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG and the second LCG are all or partially the same, the information of the second LCG can be carried in the first part of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG.
[0137] For example, the information of the second LCG can be carried in the first part of one or more parts corresponding to the second LCG and the first LCG. As an example, when one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG and the second LCG are all or partially the same, the information of the second LCG can be carried in the first part of one or more parts corresponding to the second LCG and the first LCG.
[0138] In some embodiments, one or more portions of the first LCG correspond one-to-one with one or more reporting thresholds; and / or, one or more portions of the second LCG correspond one-to-one with one or more reporting thresholds.
[0139] In some embodiments, the one or more thresholds are thresholds reported by the terminal device.
[0140] In some embodiments, the one or more thresholds are thresholds configured by the network device. In some embodiments, the multiple reporting thresholds configured by the network device may be configured sequentially (e.g., in ascending or descending order of size). In other embodiments, the multiple reporting thresholds configured by the network device are not ordered. In this case, when the terminal device reports DSR, it may sort the data in ascending or descending order, and / or report DS information based on one or more of the sorted thresholds.
[0141] This application does not limit the method for determining the first part and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part. For example, the first part and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be determined based on one or more of the following: the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH, the reporting threshold configured by the network device (such as the configured minimum reporting threshold, each reporting threshold, the maximum reporting threshold, etc.), the index of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG and / or the second LCG, the relationship between the latency of retransmitted data and the configured reporting threshold, the reporting order of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG and / or the second LCG, the second LCH, the latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG, the reporting threshold configured for the second LCG (such as the configured minimum reporting threshold, the maximum reporting threshold, etc. for the second LCG), the reporting threshold of the first LCG, the reporting part of the first LCG, the minimum reporting threshold of the first LCG, the minimum reporting part of the first LCG, the reporting threshold of the second LCG, the reporting part of the second LCG, the minimum reporting threshold of the second LCG, the minimum reporting part of the second LCG, and the order in the threshold list configured by the network device.
[0142] In some embodiments, the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion may be determined based on one of the above. For example, the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion may be determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH. Another example is that the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion may be determined based on the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device. Yet another example is that the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion may be determined based on the second LCH.
[0143] In some embodiments, the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion can be determined based on multiple factors described above. For example, the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion can be determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH and the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device. As another example, the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion can be determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH and the reporting threshold of the first LCG. Yet another example, the first portion and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion can be determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH and the latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG.
[0144] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations. The first part and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be determined based on any one or more of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be listed here one by one.
[0145] In some embodiments, the first part of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be determined based on one or more of the following: the delay of retransmitted data in the first LCH, the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device, at least one reporting threshold configured by the network device, the index of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG, the relationship between the delay of retransmitted data and the configured reporting threshold, the reporting order of one or more parts corresponding to the first LCG, and the second LCH.
[0146] In some embodiments, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on one of the above. For example, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH. As another example, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device.
[0147] In some embodiments, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on one of the methods described above. For example, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the first LCH and the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device. As another example, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the first LCH and the second LCH. As yet another example, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the first LCH and at least one reporting threshold configured by the network device. As yet another example, the first portion of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the relationship between the latency of retransmission data in the first LCH and at least one reporting threshold configured by the network device.
[0148] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations. The first part of the information carrying the first LCH and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be determined based on any one or more of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be elaborated here.
[0149] In some embodiments, the first part carrying the information of the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be determined based on one or more of the following: the delay of retransmitted data in the second LCG, the minimum reporting threshold configured for the second LCG, each reporting threshold configured for the second LCG, each reporting threshold configured for the first LCG, the reporting threshold of the first LCG, the reporting portion of the first LCG, the minimum reporting threshold of the first LCG, the minimum reporting portion of the first LCG, the reporting threshold of the second LCG, the reporting portion of the second LCG, the minimum reporting threshold of the second LCG, the minimum reporting portion of the second LCG, the relationship between the delay of retransmitted data in the second LCG and the configured reporting threshold, and the order in the threshold list configured by the network device.
[0150] In some embodiments, the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on one of the above. For example, the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG. As another example, the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the minimum reporting threshold configured for the corresponding second LCG.
[0151] In some embodiments, the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on one of the methods described above. For example, the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the second LCG and the minimum reporting threshold of the corresponding second LCG configuration. Another example is that the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the second LCG and the minimum reporting threshold of the second LCG. Yet another example is that the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the second LCG and each reporting threshold of the corresponding second LCG configuration. Yet another example is that the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the latency of retransmission data in the second LCG and each reporting threshold of the corresponding first LCG configuration. Yet another example is that the first portion of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion is determined based on the relationship between the latency of retransmission data in the second LCG and each reporting threshold of the corresponding second LCG configuration. For example, the first part carrying the information of the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part are determined based on the relationship between the delay of retransmission data in the second LCG and each reporting threshold configured for the corresponding first LCG.
[0152] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations. The first part of the information carrying the second LCG and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be determined based on any one or more of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be elaborated here.
[0153] In some embodiments, the first part and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part are determined based on the delay of retransmission data in the first LCH and / or the delay of retransmission data in the second LCG, which can better reflect the needs of the first LCH and / or the second LCG.
[0154] In some embodiments, the reporting threshold of the first part and / or the first part corresponding to it is determined based on the delay of retransmitted data in the first LCH, and may include one of the following: the first part or the reporting threshold corresponding to it is determined based on the minimum remaining delay of retransmitted data in the first LCH; the first part or the reporting threshold corresponding to it is determined based on the relationship between the minimum remaining delay of retransmitted data in the first LCH and the reporting threshold of the DSR; the first part and / or the reporting threshold corresponding to it is determined based on the relationship between the minimum remaining delay of retransmitted data in the first LCH and the reporting threshold of the configured DSR; the first part or the reporting threshold corresponding to it is determined based on the relationship between the remaining delay of some or all retransmitted data in the first LCH and the reporting threshold of the DSR.
[0155] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the first LCG is 5ms and 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 5ms. The first LCG includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission data. The total data volume information corresponding to LCH1 is 20 bits, and the minimum remaining delay in one or more retransmissions is 3ms. LCH2 contains at least newly transmitted data. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report information for two parts in the DSR MAC CE (e.g., part 1, corresponding to a delay less than or equal to 5ms, its data volume is 30 bits, and the reporting delay is 5ms; part 2, corresponding to a delay greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, its data volume is 60 bits, and the reporting delay is 8ms). When the terminal device reports the information of the first LCG, or in the information of the first LCG carried by the DSR, the terminal device determines that the information of LCH1 is reported in part 1 (because 3ms < reporting threshold 1, that is, 5ms, which belongs to the first part or the smallest part), and / or determines that the information of part 1 is (50 bits, 5ms; or, 50 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 2 is (60 bits, 8ms).
[0156] In some embodiments, the reporting threshold of the first part or the first part corresponding to it is determined based on the latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG, including one of the following: the reporting threshold of the first part or the first part corresponding to it is determined based on the minimum remaining latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG; the reporting threshold of the first part or the first part corresponding to it is determined based on the relationship between the minimum remaining latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG and the reporting threshold of the DSR; the reporting threshold of the first part and / or the first part corresponding to it is determined based on the relationship between the minimum remaining latency of retransmitted data in the second LCG and the reporting threshold of the configured DSR; the reporting threshold of the first part or the first part corresponding to it is determined based on the relationship between the remaining latency of some or all retransmitted data in the second LCG and the reporting threshold of the DSR.
[0157] In some embodiments, the information of the first LCH includes information about the control PDU and information about retransmitted data, and both the control PDU information and the retransmitted data information are transmitted through the first part. Transmitting the control PDU information and the retransmitted data information through the same part simplifies the implementation of the terminal device.
[0158] In other embodiments, the information of the first LCH includes information about the control PDU and information about retransmitted data. The retransmitted data information is transmitted through a first part, while the control PDU information is transmitted through a second part.
[0159] In some embodiments, the information of the second LCG includes information about the control PDU and information about retransmitted data, and both the control PDU information and the retransmitted data information are transmitted through the first part. Transmitting the control PDU information and the retransmitted data information through the same part simplifies the implementation of the terminal device.
[0160] In other embodiments, the information of the second LCG includes information about the control PDU and information about retransmitted data. The retransmitted data information is carried in the first part, while the control PDU information is carried in the second part.
[0161] In some embodiments, the second part described above corresponds to the minimum reporting threshold of the first LCH or the first LCG. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. The second part may correspond to the maximum reporting threshold of the first LCH or the first LCG, or the second part may correspond to a specific reporting threshold of the first LCH or the first LCG (such as a specific Xth reporting threshold).
[0162] In some embodiments, the second part described above corresponds to the reporting threshold of the third LCH in the first LCG. The third LCH can be any LCH in the first LCG other than the first LCH. For example, the third LCH can be the LCH with the smallest remaining latency in the first LCG. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this; the third LCH can also be the LCH with the largest remaining latency in the first LCG or the LCH of a specific part (such as a specific Xth part), etc.
[0163] In some embodiments, the third LCH is the same as the second LCH. In other embodiments, the third LCH is different from the second LCH.
[0164] This application does not limit the second LCH in its embodiments. Exemplarily, the second LCH may include one or more of the following: some or all LCHs in the first LCG other than the first LCH, some or all LCHs in the LCH corresponding to the first data radio bearer (DRB) other than the first LCH, some or all LCHs in the LCH corresponding to the first MAC entity other than the first LCH, the main LCH, the default LCH, any LCH, and a specific LCH.
[0165] In some embodiments, the second LCH may include one of the above. For example, the second LCH may be some or all of the LCHs in the first LCG other than the first LCH. Another example is that the second LCH may be some or all of the LCHs in the LCH corresponding to the first MAC entity other than the first LCH. Yet another example is that the second LCH is the main LCH.
[0166] In some embodiments, the second LCH may include multiple items as described above. For example, the second LCH may be some or all of the LCHs in the first LCG other than the first LCH, and may be the main LCH. As another example, the second LCH may be some or all of the LCHs in the LCH corresponding to the first MAC entity other than the first LCH, and may be the default LCH.
[0167] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations, and the second LCH can include any one or more of the above examples. For the sake of brevity, they will not be listed here one by one.
[0168] This application does not limit the default LCH in its embodiments. For example, the default LCH can be the main LCH. Another example is that the default LCH can be the LCH with the smallest index among the LCHs corresponding to the first MAC entity.
[0169] This application does not limit the specific LCH in its embodiments. For example, a specific LCH may be the LCH of a specific index in the LCH corresponding to the first MAC entity. Another example is that a specific LCH may be the LCH of a specific index in the LCH corresponding to the first DRB. Yet another example is that a specific LCH is the primary LCH.
[0170] This application does not limit the implementation of the first part determined based on the second LCH. Exemplarily, the first part determined based on the second LCH may include one of the following: the first part is one or more parts of the delay status (DS) information used to carry the second LCH; the first part is the part with the smallest index among the one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH; the first part is the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold among the one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH; or the first part is the part with the earliest reporting order among the one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH. However, this application is not limited to these. For example, the first part may be the part with the largest index (or a specific index) among the one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH. Another example is that the first part may be the part corresponding to the largest (or a specific) reporting threshold among the one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH. Yet another example is that the first part may be the part with the latest reporting order (or a specific reporting order) among the one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH.
[0171] This application does not limit the implementation method of determining the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part based on the second LCH. For example, determining the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part based on the second LCH may include one of the following: the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is: a reporting threshold corresponding to one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is: the threshold corresponding to the part with the smallest index among one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is: the minimum reporting threshold among one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is: the threshold corresponding to the part with the earliest reporting order among one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH. However, this application is not limited to this. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part may be: the threshold corresponding to the part with the largest index (or a specific index) among one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH. As another example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part may be: the maximum reporting threshold among one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part can be: the threshold corresponding to the part that is reported last (or a specific reporting order) among one or more parts of the DS information used to carry the second LCH.
[0172] In some embodiments, if only control PDUs exist in the first LCH or the second LCG, the first portion of the information carrying the control PDU and / or the threshold corresponding to the first portion can be determined based on the second LCH. For example, the first portion of the information carrying the control PDU can be the portion with the smallest index among one or more portions of the DS information carrying the second LCH, or the portion that appears first in the reporting order, etc.
[0173] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the first LCG is 5ms, 10ms, and 20ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 10ms. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report two parts of information in the DSR MAC CE (i.e., information of parts 2 and 3. Part 1, corresponding to a delay of less than or equal to 5ms, has a data volume of 0 bits; Part 2, corresponding to a delay of greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, has a data volume of 60 bits and a reporting delay of 10ms; Part 3, corresponding to a delay of greater than 10ms and less than 20ms, has a data volume of 20 bits and a reporting delay of 15ms). In the information of the first LCG reported by the terminal device, or in the information of the first LCG carried by the DSR MAC CE, the terminal device determines that the minimum reporting part of the first LCG is part 2 / determines that the minimum reporting threshold is 10ms, and / or determines that the information of LCH1 is reported in part 2 (because part 1 has no data, or part 2 belongs to the first reporting part or the minimum reporting part), and / or determines that the information of part 2 is (80 bits, 10ms; or, 80 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 3 is (20 bits, 15ms).
[0174] For example, LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. LCH2 can be an LCH associated with the same MAC (MAC1) entity as LCH1, or an LCH with a different MAC (MAC1, MAC2) entity. When the first LCG triggers a DSR, or when MAC1 reports a DSR MAC CE, the DS information of LCH1 can be determined based on LCH5 (not based on LCH2 as described above, but based on the information in LCH5). In some embodiments, if LCH5 only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data, then LCH1 does not report DS information; or, LCH1 reports DS information based on its own retransmission information; or LCH1 reports DS information based on the delay corresponding to the retransmission information in LCH2; or, LCH1's information is reported based on the first configured reporting threshold of the first LCG.
[0175] For example, LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. LCH2 can be an LCH associated with the same MAC (MAC1) entity as LCH1, or an LCH with different MAC (MAC1, MAC2) entities. In the case of DSR triggering of the first LCG, or when MAC1 reports DSR MAC CE, the DS information of LCH1 is determined based on LCH2 (i.e., not based on the information of LCH5).
[0176] The first part and / or the threshold corresponding to the first part are determined based on the second LCH, which is beneficial to treat the LCH of an LCG or a DRB as a whole, thereby helping to ensure the overall transmission requirements.
[0177] In some embodiments, the first part, determined based on the reporting portion and / or reporting threshold of the first LCG, includes: the first part being one or more portions of DS information used for (or carrying) the first LCG. For example, the first part is the portion with the smallest reporting threshold among one or more portions of DS information used for (or carrying) the first LCG. Another example is the first part being the portion with the earliest reporting order among one or more portions of DS information used for (or carrying) the first LCG. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this; for example, the first part is the portion with the largest reporting threshold among one or more portions of DS information used for (or carrying) the first LCG. Another example is the first part being the portion with the latest reporting order among one or more portions of DS information used for (or carrying) the first LCG. Yet another example is the first part being the portion of a specific order (e.g., a specific Xth) among one or more portions of DS information used for (or carrying) the first LCG.
[0178] In some embodiments, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is determined based on the reporting portion and / or reporting threshold of the first LCG, including: the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is a threshold corresponding to one or more portions of the DS information used to carry the first LCG. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is a threshold corresponding to the portion with the smallest reporting threshold among one or more portions of the DS information used to carry the first LCG. Another example is a reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is a threshold corresponding to the portion with the earliest reporting order among one or more portions of the DS information used to carry the first LCG. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is a threshold corresponding to the portion with the largest reporting threshold among one or more portions of the DS information used to carry the first LCG. Another example is a reporting threshold corresponding to the portion with the latest reporting order among one or more portions of the DS information used to carry the first LCG. Yet another example is a reporting threshold corresponding to a specific order (e.g., a specific Xth) portion among one or more portions of the DS information used to carry the first LCG.
[0179] In some embodiments, the first part is determined based on the index of one or more parts, or based on the reporting threshold configured by the network device, including one or more of the following: the first part is the part corresponding to the smallest index in the index of the one or more parts, the first part is the first sorted part in the index of the one or more parts, and the first part is the part corresponding to the smallest reporting threshold in the reporting threshold configured by the network device. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. The determination of the first part based on the index of one or more parts, or based on the reporting threshold configured by the network device, may also include: the first part is the part corresponding to the largest index or the last sorted part in the index of the one or more parts, or the first part is the part corresponding to the largest reporting threshold in the reporting threshold configured by the network device.
[0180] In some embodiments, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is determined based on the index of one or more parts, or the first part is determined based on the reporting threshold configured by the network device, including one or more of the following: the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the reporting threshold corresponding to the smallest index among the indexes of the one or more parts, or the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the smallest reporting threshold among the reporting thresholds configured by the network device. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the reporting threshold corresponding to the largest index (or an index of a specific order) among the indexes of the one or more parts. Another example is that the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the largest reporting threshold (or a reporting threshold of a specific order) among the reporting thresholds configured by the network device.
[0181] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the first LCG is 5ms and 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 5ms. The first LCG includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission data. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits, with a latency of 3ms. LCH2 contains at least newly transmitted data. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report two parts of information in the DSR MAC CE (e.g., part 1, with a latency of less than or equal to 5ms, a data volume of 30 bits, and a reporting latency of 5ms; part 2, with a latency greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, a data volume of 60 bits, and a reporting latency of 8ms). The terminal device reports the information of the first LCG, or in the information of the first LCG carried by the DSR MAC CE, the information of LCH1 is determined to be reported based on threshold 1 or in part 1 (because part 1 or threshold 1, i.e. the first part / threshold or the minimum part / threshold configured), and / or, the information of part 1 is determined to be (50 bits, 5ms; or, 50 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 2 is determined to be (60 bits, 8ms).
[0182] In some embodiments, the first part is determined based on the reporting portion of the second LCG, or based on the reporting threshold of the second LCG, including one or more of the following: the first part is the part corresponding to the minimum index in the index of one or more parts configured by the second LCG; the first part is the first sorted part in the index of one or more parts configured by the second LCG; the first part is the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold in the reporting threshold configured by the second LCG; the first part is the part corresponding to the minimum index in the index of one or more parts reported by the second LCG; the first part is the first sorted part in the index of one or more parts reported by the second LCG; the first part is the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold in the reporting threshold of the second LCG. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. For example, the first part may be the part corresponding to the maximum index or the last sorted part in the index of one or more parts configured by the second LCG. Another example is the part corresponding to the maximum reporting threshold in the reporting threshold configured by the second LCG. Yet another example is the part corresponding to the maximum index or the last sorted part in the index of one or more parts reported by the second LCG. For example, the first part is the part corresponding to the maximum reporting threshold (or specific reporting threshold) of the reporting threshold reported by the second LCG.
[0183] In some embodiments, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is determined based on the reporting portion of the second LCG, or based on the reporting threshold of the second LCG, including one or more of the following: the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the reporting threshold corresponding to the smallest index among the indices of one or more parts configured by the second LCG; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the smallest reporting threshold among the reporting thresholds configured by the corresponding second LCG; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the reporting threshold corresponding to the smallest index among the indices of one or more parts reported by the second LCG; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the smallest reporting threshold among the reporting thresholds reported by the corresponding second LCG. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the reporting threshold corresponding to the largest index among the indices of one or more parts configured by the second LCG. Another example is that the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the largest reporting threshold (or a reporting threshold in a specific order) among the reporting thresholds configured by the corresponding second LCG. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the maximum reporting threshold (or a reporting threshold in a specific order) among the reporting thresholds reported by the corresponding second LCG.
[0184] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the second LCG is 5ms, 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 6ms. The second LCG includes LCH1. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission data. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits, with a latency of 3ms. The first LCG or LCH3 of the first LCG triggers DSR reporting. The first LCG / LCH3 corresponds to two parts, or two parts of information need to be reported in the DSR MAC CE (e.g., part 1, with a latency of less than or equal to 5ms, a data volume of 30 bits, and a reporting latency of 5ms; part 2, with a latency greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, a data volume of 60 bits, and a reporting latency of 8ms). The terminal device reports or generates a DSR MAC CE, or reports the information of the second LCG at the same time as reporting the information of the first LCG, and / or the information of the second LCG is reported based on threshold 1 or reported on part 1 (because part 1 or threshold 1 is the first part / threshold or the minimum part / threshold configured), and / or the information of the second LCG is determined to be (part 1, 20 bits, 5 ms; or part 1, 20 bits, 3 ms).
[0185] Terminal devices can report information based on configured fixed locations or on reported fixed locations, which simplifies the implementation of terminal devices.
[0186] In some embodiments, the first part is determined based on the reporting order of the one or more parts, or based on the order in the threshold list configured by the network device, including one or more of the following: the first part is the part with the highest reporting order among the one or more parts; the first part is the part corresponding to the first threshold in the threshold list configured by the network device; the first part is the part with the highest reporting order among the one or more reported parts; the first part is the part corresponding to the first threshold in the corresponding threshold list. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. For example, the first part is the part with the lowest reporting order among the one or more parts, or the part with a specific reporting order (such as a specific Xth one). As another example, the first part is the part with the lowest reporting order among the one or more reported parts, or the part with a specific reporting order (such as a specific Xth one).
[0187] In some embodiments, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is determined based on the reporting order of one or more parts, or based on the order in the threshold list configured by the network device, including one or more of the following: the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the threshold corresponding to the part with the earliest reporting order in one or more parts; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the first threshold in the threshold list configured by the network device; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the threshold corresponding to the part with the earliest reporting order in one or more reported parts; the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the first threshold in the corresponding threshold list. However, the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. For example, the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the threshold corresponding to the part with the latest reporting order (or a part in a specific order) in one or more parts. Another example is that the reporting threshold corresponding to the first part is the threshold corresponding to the part with the latest reporting order (or a part in a specific order) in one or more reported parts.
[0188] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for the first LCG is 5ms, 10ms, and 20ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 10ms. The first LCG includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission data. The total data volume information corresponding to LCH1 is 20 bits, and the minimum remaining delay of one or more retransmissions is 3ms. LCH2 contains at least newly transmitted data. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report two parts of information in DSR MAC CE (i.e., information of parts 2 and 3. Among them, part 1 corresponds to a latency of less than or equal to 5ms, and its data size is 0 bits; part 2 corresponds to a latency of greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, and its data size is 60 bits, with a reporting latency of 10ms; part 3 corresponds to a latency of greater than 10ms and less than 20ms, and its data size is 20 bits, with a reporting latency of 15ms). The terminal device reports the information of the first LCG, or in the information of the first LCG carried by the DSR MAC CE, it determines that the minimum reporting part of the first LCG is part 2 / determines that the minimum reporting threshold is 10ms, and / or determines that the information of LCH1 is reported in part 2 (because part 1 has no data, or part 2 belongs to the first reporting part or the minimum reporting part), and / or determines that the information of part 2 is (80 bits, 10ms; or, 80 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 2 (20 bits, 15ms).
[0189] For example, LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1.
[0190] For example, LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1.
[0191] Treating the LCH of an LCG or a DRB as a whole helps to ensure overall transmission requirements.
[0192] In some embodiments, the first portion described above may include one or more of the following information: information about the first LCH and information about the second LCG. For example, the first portion may include information about the first LCH. Alternatively, the first portion may include information about the second LCG. Or, the first portion may include information about the first LCH and information about the second LCG.
[0193] In some embodiments, the first portion includes information about the first LCH, which may include: the first portion including latency information and / or data volume information of the first LCH; or, the first portion including latency information and / or data volume information of the first LCG corresponding to the first LCH. In some embodiments, the first portion includes information about the second LCG, which may include: the first portion including latency information and / or data volume information of the second LCG.
[0194] This application embodiment does not limit the latency information (such as one or more of the latency information of the first LCH, the latency information of the first LCG corresponding to the first LCH, and the latency information of the second LCG) included in the first part. For example, the latency information included in the first part may include one or more of the following: the minimum reporting threshold corresponding to the first part, the maximum reporting threshold corresponding to the first part, the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device, the maximum reporting threshold configured by the network device, a default value, a specific value, a value of 0, and a value determined by the terminal device based on the implementation of the terminal device.

For example, the latency information included in the first portion may include the minimum reporting threshold corresponding to the first portion. Another example is that the latency information included in the first portion may include the minimum reporting threshold configured by the network device. Yet another example is that the latency information included in the first portion may include a specific value or a value of 0.
[0196] In some embodiments, the latency information included in the first part may include multiple items as described above. For example, the latency information included in the first part may include the minimum reporting threshold and a specific value corresponding to the first part. As another example, the latency information included in the first part may include the maximum reporting threshold and a value of 0 corresponding to the first part.
[0197] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations, and the latency information included in the first part may include any one or more of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be listed one by one here.
[0198] In some embodiments, when the delay information included in the first part includes a specific value, the present application embodiments do not limit that specific value. For example, the specific value can be 0. Or, for another example, the specific value can be 1.

Another example is that the fourth LCH is an LCH associated with the MAC entity of the terminal device. Yet another example is that the fourth LCH is an LCH associated with the first LCG. Still another example is that the fourth LCH is an LCH associated with the same bearer as the first LCH.
[0214] In some embodiments, the fourth LCH includes multiple of the above-described types. For example, the fourth LCH is an LCH associated with the PDCP / RLC entity of the terminal device and an LCH associated with the first LCG. Another example is that the fourth LCH is an LCH associated with the first LCG and an LCH associated with the same bearer as the first LCH. Yet another example is that the fourth LCH is an LCH associated with the MAC entity of the terminal device and an LCH associated with the same bearer as the first LCH.
[0215] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations, and the fourth LCH can include any combination of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be listed one by one here.

The portion corresponding to the minimum threshold among one or more thresholds, the portion corresponding to the minimum index among one or more reported portions corresponding to the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH, the portion with the highest sort order among one or more reported portions corresponding to the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH, the portion corresponding to the minimum threshold among one or more reported thresholds corresponding to the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH, the portion corresponding to the minimum index among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG, the portion with the highest sort order among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG, and the portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG.
[0228] In some embodiments, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in one of the above-described forms. For example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest index among one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH. As another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest index among one or more reported portions corresponding to the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH. Yet another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest index among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG.

Yet another example is that the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH can be carried in the first-ordered portion among one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH, and also in the portion corresponding to the smallest threshold among one or more thresholds configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH.
[0230] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations. The control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH can be carried in any one or more of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be listed here one by one.
[0231] It should also be noted that the embodiments of this application do not limit the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH to be carried only in the portions listed above. For example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in the portion corresponding to the largest index among one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH. As another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in the portion corresponding to the largest threshold among one or more thresholds configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH. As yet another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH may be carried in a specific order (e.g., a specific Xth) portion among one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the fifth LCH.

[0233] This application does not limit the number of LCHs associated with the fifth LCH in its embodiments. For example, the LCHs associated with the fifth LCH may include one or more LCHs.
[0234] In some embodiments, if each of the at least two LCHs in the first LCG needs to report (or trigger) DS information, or if the LCHs associated with each of the at least two LCHs in the first LCG need to report (or trigger) DS information, or if the DRBs associated with each of the at least two LCHs in the first LCG need to report (or trigger) DS information, then the control PDUs and / or retransmission data present in the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in one or more of the following: the portion corresponding to the smallest index in one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs, the portion with the highest sorted order in one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs, and the portion of the network device configured for the first LCG. The portion corresponding to the minimum threshold among one or more thresholds configured with and / or at least two LCHs, the portion corresponding to the minimum index among one or more reported portions corresponding to the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs, the portion with the highest sort order among one or more reported portions corresponding to the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs, the portion corresponding to the minimum threshold among one or more reported thresholds corresponding to the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs, the portion corresponding to the minimum index among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG, the portion with the highest sort order among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG, and the portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG.
[0235] In some embodiments, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the presence of the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in one of the above-described formats. For example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the presence of the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest index among one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs. Another example is that the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the presence of the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest threshold among one or more thresholds configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs. Yet another example is that the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the presence of the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in the first-ordered portion among one or more reported portions corresponding to each LCH in the first LCG.
[0236] In some embodiments, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in one of the above-described ways. For example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest index in one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs, and in the portion corresponding to the smallest threshold in one or more thresholds configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs. As another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in the portion corresponding to the smallest index in one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs, and in the portion that is listed first in the configuration.
[0237] It should be noted that the above examples are merely illustrations. The control PDU and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or the at least two LCHs can be carried in any one or more of the above. For the sake of brevity, they will not be listed one by one here.
[0238] It should also be noted that the embodiments of this application do not limit the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs to be carried only in the portions listed above. For example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs may be carried in the portion corresponding to the largest index in one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs. As another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs may be carried in the portion corresponding to the largest threshold in one or more thresholds configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs. As yet another example, the control PDUs and / or retransmission data of the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs may be carried in a specific order (e.g., a specific Xth) portion in one or more portions configured by the network device for the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs.
[0239] In some embodiments, the LCH associated with each of the at least two LCHs includes one or more of the following: at least two LCHs and their associated LCHs correspond to the same DRB; at least two LCHs and their associated LCHs correspond to LCHs in a dual-connectivity scenario; at least two LCHs and their associated LCHs correspond to LCHs in a dual active protocol stack (DAPS).
[0240] This application does not limit the number of LCHs associated with each of the at least two LCHs. For example, the LCHs associated with each of the at least two LCHs may include one or more LCHs.
[0241] In some embodiments, each of the at least two LCHs in the first LCG contains delay reporting data, or at least one LCH in the first LCG triggers delay status reporting, but the first reported portion of the delay reporting data contained in the at least two LCHs in the first LCG is different.
[0242] In some embodiments, when the first reported portion of the delayed reported data contained in at least two LCHs in the first LCG is different, the method mentioned in Embodiment 2 can be used to carry the control PDU and / or retransmission data present in the first LCG and / or at least two LCHs in the first LCG.
[0243] To facilitate understanding, several examples are provided below to illustrate embodiments of this application. It should be noted that the examples below are not intended to limit the technical solutions of this application.
[0244] For DSR, when a terminal device reports information about a certain LCG, if a certain LCH (denoted as the first LCH) of that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data (retransmitted SDUs / PDUs / SDU segments, etc.), then at least one of the following is included:
[0245] 1. The terminal device does not report the information of the first LCH (such as data volume information), or does not include or count the information of the first LCH when calculating the DS information (data volume and / or latency) of the first LCG, or does not carry the information of the first LCH in the DS information of the reported LCG.
[0246] 2. Based on the latency of retransmitted data in the first LCH (such as minimum remaining latency, or the relationship between minimum remaining latency and DSR reporting threshold, or the relationship between the remaining latency of each retransmitted data and DSR reporting threshold), determine in which part the information of the first LCH is calculated or placed. In some embodiments, the information of the control PDU is statistically analyzed, calculated, or reported in the same part as the information of the retransmitted data.
[0247] 3. If the first LCH contains only control PDUs, then the information of the control PDUs is calculated or statistically included in the portion corresponding to the configured minimum reporting threshold, or the information of the control PDUs is calculated or statistically included in the portion / first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold of the LCG in this DSR information report (this threshold or portion is determined by other LCHs of the LCG, or by other LCHs of the DRB corresponding to the first LCH. That is, the data volume of the first LCH is statistically included, calculated, or reported in the portion or first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold. In some embodiments, other LCHs can be LCHs under a MAC or LCHs under the same MAC. In some embodiments, other LCHs can be the main LCH, or, the default LCH, or any LCH, or an LCH index-specific LCH, or all other LCHs corresponding to the DRB (e.g., determined based on the first portion / threshold of all other LCHs)). In some embodiments, the first reporting threshold and / or the first reporting portion is the smallest, or the first in the reporting order, or the one with the smallest corresponding threshold value.
[0248] 4. If the first LCH only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the information shall be calculated or statistically analyzed into the portion corresponding to the configured minimum reporting threshold / the configured minimum portion.
[0249] 5. If the first LCH only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission data, the information is calculated or statistically included in the portion / first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold of the LCG in this DSR information report (this threshold or portion is determined by other LCHs of the LCG, or by other LCHs of the DRB corresponding to the first LCH. That is, the data volume of the first LCH is statistically included or calculated or reported in the portion or first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold.
[0250] Furthermore, regarding the above, if for the first LCH, the information of the first LCH is calculated or statistically included in the part / first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold of the LCG in this DSR information report, this can be determined by the MAC entity (for example, each LCH, or PDCP / RLC, informs the MAC entity of its first information (for example, at least one of the following: minimum portion, minimum threshold, data volume of each portion, latency / data volume of the portion to be reported, latency of each portion, number of reported portions). Based on the information exchanged between each / at least one LCH / PDCP / RLC, the MAC entity determines the part or first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold, and / or includes, statistically includes, or reports the information of the first LCH in the part or first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold). Alternatively, regarding the above, if for the first LCH, the information of the first LCH is calculated or statistically included in the part / first reporting part corresponding to the first reporting threshold of the LCG in this DSR information report, which can be determined by the PDCP / RLC entity (e.g., determining other LCH second information based on the interaction between PDCP / RLC (e.g., at least one of the following: minimum part, minimum threshold, data volume of each part, latency of each part, number of reported parts); further, PDCP / RLC informs the MAC of the determined part and the corresponding data volume / latency, or PDCP / RLC informs the MAC of the corresponding data volume / latency of each part. The MAC includes or reports the information of the first LCH in the part or first reporting part corresponding to the first reporting threshold).
[0251] Example 1:
[0252] Regarding DSR, when a terminal device reports information about a certain LCG, if a certain LCH (denoted as the first LCH) of that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data (retransmitted SDUs / PDUs / SDU segments, etc.), then the terminal device will not report information about the first LCH (such as data volume information), or it will not include or include information about the first LCH when calculating the DS information (data volume and / or latency) of the first LCG, or it will not carry information about the first LCH in the reported DS information of the LCG.
[0253] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for LCG1 is 5ms and 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 5ms. LCG1 includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission of PDU / SDU / SDU segments. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits. LCH2 contains at least newly transmitted data. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report two parts of information in the DSR MAC CE (e.g., part 1, with a latency of less than or equal to 5ms, has a data volume of 30 bits and a reporting latency of 5ms; part 2, with a latency greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, has a data volume of 60 bits and a reporting latency of 8ms). Whether it's MAC or PDCP / RLC, the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.) is determined. The terminal device reports the DSR information of LCG1, or the information of LCG1 carried by DSR MAC CE does not include the data volume information of LCH1 (or only includes the data volume / latency information of LCH2).
[0254] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for LCG1 is 5ms, 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 6ms. LCG1 includes LCH1. LCH1 only controls PDUs with PDCP and / or RLC, and / or retransmits PDU / SDU / SDU segments with PDCP and / or RLC. The total data volume information corresponding to LCH1 is 20 bits. Regardless of whether MAC or PDCP / RLC determines the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), the DSR information is reported on the terminal device, or the LCG information carried in the DSR MAC CE does not include the data volume information of LCG1 (or only includes the data volume / latency information of LCG2).
[0255] Example 1 helps to simplify implementation and avoid complex terminal device behavior.
[0256] Example 2:
[0257] Regarding DSR, when a terminal device reports information about a certain LCG, if a certain LCH (denoted as the first LCH) of that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data (retransmitted SDUs / PDUs / SDU segments, etc.), then, based on the latency of the retransmitted data in the first LCH (such as minimum remaining latency, or the relationship between minimum remaining latency and the DSR reporting threshold, or the relationship between the remaining latency of each retransmitted data and the DSR reporting threshold), it is determined in which part the information of the first LCH is calculated or placed. In some embodiments, the information of the control PDUs and the information of the retransmitted PDUs are statistically analyzed, calculated, or reported in the same part.
[0258] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for LCG1 is 5ms and 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 5ms. LCG1 includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission PDU / SDU / SDU segments. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits, and the minimum remaining latency of one or more retransmissions is 3ms. LCH2 contains at least newly transmitted data. If LCH2 triggers DSR reporting, and LCH2 corresponds to two parts, or needs to report two parts of information in the DSR MAC CE (e.g., part 1, with a latency less than or equal to 5ms, a data volume of 30 bits, and a reporting latency of 5ms; part 2, with a latency greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, a data volume of 60 bits, and a reporting latency of 8ms). Whether it's MAC or PDCP / RLC, the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.) is determined. The terminal device reports the DSR information of LCG1, or in the LCG1 information carried by the DSR MAC CE, the LCH1 information is determined to be reported in part 1 (because 3ms < threshold 1, that is, 5ms, which belongs to the first part or the minimum part), and / or, the information of part 1 is determined to be (50 bits, 5ms; or, 50 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 2 is (60 bits, 8ms).
[0259] Example 2 can report DS based on information from this LCH, which helps to better reflect the needs of this LCH.
[0260] Example 3:
[0261] Regarding DSR, when the terminal device reports information about a certain LCG, if a certain LCH (denoted as the first LCH) of that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data (retransmitted SDUs / PDUs / SDUs)... If the first LCH contains only control PDUs, then the information of the control PDUs is calculated or statistically included in the portion corresponding to the configured minimum reporting threshold, or the information of the control PDUs is calculated or statistically included in the portion / first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold of the LCG in this DSR information report (this threshold or portion is determined by other LCHs of the LCG, or by other LCHs of the DRB corresponding to the first LCH). That is, the data volume of the first LCH is statistically included, calculated, or reported in the portion or first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold. In some embodiments, other LCHs can be LCHs under a MAC or LCHs under the same MAC. In some embodiments, other LCHs can be the main LCH, or, the default LCH, or any LCH, or LCH index-specific LCH, or all other LCHs corresponding to the DRB (e.g., determined based on the first portion / threshold of all other LCHs)). In some embodiments, the first reporting threshold and / or the first reporting portion is the smallest, or the first in the reporting order, or the one with the smallest corresponding threshold value.
[0262] For example, the DSR reporting thresholds for LCG1 are 5ms, 10ms, and 20ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 10ms. LCG1 includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 contains only PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission PDU / SDU / SDU segments. Part 1 corresponds to a latency of less than or equal to 5ms, and its data size is 0 bits; Part 2 corresponds to a latency of greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, and its data size is 60 bits, with a reporting latency of 10ms; Part 3 corresponds to a latency of greater than 10ms and less than 20ms, and its data size is 20 bits, with a reporting latency of 15ms). Whether it's MAC or PDCP / RLC determining the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), the terminal device reports the DSR information of LCG1, or in the information of LCG1 carried by the DSR MAC CE, it determines that the minimum reporting part of LCG1 is part 2 / determines that the minimum reporting threshold is 10ms, and / or determines that the information of LCH1 is reported in part 2 (because part 1 has no data, or part 2 belongs to the first reporting part or the minimum reporting part), and / or determines that the information of part 2 is (80 bits, 10ms; or, 80 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 2 (20 bits, 15ms).
[0263] For example, if the MAC determines the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), then it includes at least one of the following:
[0264] 1) PDCP / RLC exchanges DS information with the relevant MAC. The DS information includes at least one of the following: how many / which parts are reported, the latency / data volume of each part, which part is the smallest part, the latency / data volume of the smallest part, whether there is new data transmission, whether there is only retransmission / control PDU, and the data volume / latency of the retransmission / control PDU.
[0265] For example, LCH1 informs at least one of the following: whether only retransmission / control PDUs are used, and the amount of data / latency of the retransmission / control PDUs.
[0266] For example, LCH2 informs the reporting of: several / which parts, and the latency / data volume of each part.
[0267] For example, when LCH2 triggers DSR, the MAC requests relevant DS information from the associated RLC / PDCP, or obtains relevant DS information from the associated RLC / PDCP.
[0268] For example, the DS information is exchanged between the PDCP / RLC and the MAC in real time or periodically.
[0269] For example, when LCH2 triggers DSR, LCH2 informs MAC of the DS information and notifies other LCHs to exchange their LCH's DS information with MAC.
[0270] For example, when a terminal device reports a DSR MACCE, the DS information is obtained from each LCH.
[0271] 2) MAC acquires the DS information of one or more associated LCH / PDCP / RLCs.
[0272] 3) MAC performs statistical analysis, merging, calculation, and classification of the DS information from multiple LCH / PDCP / RLCs.
[0273] 4) MAC determines the minimum reporting portion, minimum reporting threshold, or portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold for one or each LCG.
[0274] 5) MAC will include the LCH1 information in the corresponding part (i.e., the minimum reporting part of LCG1, or the minimum reporting threshold, or the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold).
[0275] For example, if the DSR reporting information for a PDCP / RLC is determined for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), then it includes at least one of the following:
[0276] 1) The PDCP / RLC of LCH1 obtains the DS information of the PDCP / RLC of other LCHs.
[0277] For example, other LCHs are other LCHs in the same LCG as LCH1.
[0278] For example, LCH1 informs at least one of the following: whether only retransmission / control PDUs are used, and the amount of data / latency of the retransmission / control PDUs.
[0279] For example, LCH2 specifies the minimum reporting portion and the minimum reporting threshold.
[0280] For example, if LCH2 triggers DSR, LCH1 obtains relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs; or, LCH1 requests relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs.
[0281] For example, the DS information is exchanged between PDCP / RLC in real time or periodically.
[0282] For example, if LCH2 triggers DSR, LCH2 informs other LCHs in the LCG of the DS information of LCH2.
[0283] For example, when a terminal device reports a DSR MACCE, LCH1 obtains the relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs; or, LCH1 requests the relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs.
[0284] 2) Each LCH / PDCP / RLC performs statistics, merges, calculations, and classifications on its own DS information.
[0285] 3) LCH1, based on the DS information of other LCHs, determines the minimum reporting portion, minimum reporting threshold, or portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold for one or each LCG.
[0286] 4) LCH1, based on the DS information of other LCHs, determines its own minimum reporting portion, or minimum reporting threshold, or the portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold.
[0287] 5) LCH1 will include its own DS information in the corresponding part (i.e., the minimum reporting part of LCG1, or the minimum reporting threshold, or the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold).
[0288] 6) Each LCH / PDCP / RLC exchanges its own DS information with the MAC.
[0289] Extended Scheme 1: LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. LCH2 can be an LCH associated with the same MAC entity (MAC1) as LCH1, or an LCH associated with different MAC entities (MAC1, MAC2). When LCG1 triggers DSR, or when MAC1 reports DSR MAC CE, the DS information of LCH1 is determined based on LCH5. (That is, it is not determined based on LCH2 as in Example 3, but based on the information of LCH5).
[0290] Extended Scheme 2: LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. LCH2 can be an LCH associated with the same MAC entity (MAC1) as LCH1, or an LCH with different MAC entities (MAC1, MAC2). When LCG1's DSR is triggered, or when MAC1 reports a DSR MAC CE, the DS information of LCH1 is determined based on LCH5. (If LCH5 only contains control PDUs and / or retransmission PDUs, then LCH1 does not report DS information; or, LCH1 reports DS information based on its own retransmission information; or LCH1 reports DS information based on the delay corresponding to the retransmission information in LCH2; or, LCH1's information is reported based on the first configured reporting threshold of LCG1).
[0291] Extended Scheme 3: LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. LCH2 can be an LCH associated with the same MAC entity (MAC1) as LCH1, or an LCH associated with different MAC entities (MAC1, MAC2). When LCG1 triggers DSR, or when MAC1 reports DSR MAC CE, the DS information of LCH1 is determined based on LCH2. (That is, it is still determined based on LCH2 in Example 3, not based on the information of LCH5).
[0292] Example 3 can treat an LCG or a DRB as a whole to ensure overall transmission requirements.
[0293] Example 4:
[0294] For DSR, when a terminal device reports information about a certain LCG, if a certain LCH (denoted as the first LCH) of the corresponding LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data (retransmitted SDUs / PDUs / SDU segments, etc.), then the information is calculated or statistically included in the part corresponding to the configured minimum reporting threshold / the configured minimum part.
[0295] In some embodiments, the latency information reported in this part is the lowest reporting threshold corresponding to this part, the highest reporting threshold corresponding to this part, or the first / lowest reporting threshold configured; or, the latency information in this part is default, or is a specific value, or is 0, or depends on the implementation of the terminal device.
[0296] In some embodiments, the latency information reported in this part is for the LCH or the LCG corresponding to the LCH.
[0297] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for LCG1 is 5ms and 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 5ms. LCG1 includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 only contains PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission of PDU / SDU / SDU segments. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits, with a latency of 3ms. LCH2 must contain at least newly transmitted data. Whether it's MAC or PDCP / RLC determining the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), the terminal device reports the DSR information of LCG1, or in the LCG1 information carried by the DSR MAC CE, it determines that the LCH1 information is reported based on threshold 1 or in part 1 (because part 1 or threshold 1, i.e., the first part / threshold or the minimum part / threshold configured), and / or, determines that the information of part 1 is (50 bits, 5ms; or, 50 bits, 3ms) and the information of part 2 is (60 bits, 8ms).
[0298] For example, the DSR reporting threshold for LCG1 is 5ms and 10ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 6ms. LCG1 includes LCH1. LCH1 only controls PDUs via PDCP and / or RLC, and / or retransmits PDU / SDU / SDU segments via PDCP and / or RLC. The total data volume of LCH1 is 20 bits, with a latency of 3ms. LCG2 or LCG2's LCH3 triggers DSR reporting. LCG2 / LCH3 corresponds to two parts, or two parts of information need to be reported in the DSR MAC CE (e.g., part 1, with a latency of less than or equal to 5ms, has a data volume of 30 bits and a reporting latency of 5ms; part 2, with a latency greater than 5ms and less than 10ms, has a data volume of 60 bits and a reporting latency of 8ms). Regardless of whether it's MAC or PDCP / RLC, the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG is determined (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), the terminal device reports or generates a DSR MAC CE, or, while reporting the DSR information of LCG2, the DS information of LCG1 is reported, and / or, the reported DS information of LCG1 is reported based on threshold 1 or determined or reported in part 1 (because part 1 or threshold 1, i.e., the first part / threshold or the minimum part / threshold configured), and / or, the DS information of LCG1 is determined as (part 1, 20 bits, 5ms; or, part 1, 20 bits, 3ms).
[0299] Example 4 can report information according to fixed locations, which helps simplify implementation.
[0300] Example 5:
[0301] Regarding DSR, when a terminal device reports information about a certain LCG, if a certain LCH (denoted as the first LCH) of that LCG only contains control PDUs and / or retransmitted data (retransmitted SDUs / PDUs / SDU segments, etc.), then the information is calculated or statistically included in the portion / first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold of that LCG in this DSR information report (this threshold or portion is determined by other LCHs of that LCG, or by other LCHs of the DRB corresponding to the first LCH). That is, the data volume of the first LCH is statistically calculated or reported into the portion or first reporting portion corresponding to the first reporting threshold. In some embodiments, other LCHs can be LCHs under a MAC or LCHs under the same MAC. In some embodiments, other LCHs can be the main LCH, or, the default LCH, or any LCH, or an LCH index-specific LCH, or all other LCHs corresponding to that DRB (e.g., determined based on the first portion / threshold of all other LCHs)). In some embodiments, the first reporting threshold and / or the first reporting portion is the smallest, or the first in the reporting order, or the corresponding threshold value is the smallest.
[0302] For example, the DSR reporting thresholds for LCG1 are 5ms, 10ms, and 20ms, and the DSR trigger threshold is 10ms. LCG1 includes LCH1 and LCH2. LCH1 contains only PDCP and / or RLC control PDUs, and / or PDCP and / or RLC retransmission PDU / SDU / SDU segments.
[0303] For example: if the MAC determines the DSR reporting information for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), then it includes at least one of the following:
[0304] 1) PDCP / RLC exchanges DS information with the relevant MAC.
[0305] For example, LCH1 informs at least one of the following: whether only retransmission / control PDUs are used, and the amount of data / latency of the retransmission / control PDUs.
[0306] For example, LCH2 informs the reporting of: several / which parts, and the latency / data volume of each part.
[0307] For example, when LCH2 triggers DSR, the MAC requests relevant DS information from the associated RLC / PDCP, or obtains relevant DS information from the associated RLC / PDCP.
[0308] For example, the DS information is exchanged between the PDCP / RLC and the MAC in real time or periodically.
[0309] For example, when LCH2 triggers DSR, LCH2 informs MAC of the DS information and notifies other LCHs to exchange their LCH's DS information with MAC.
[0310] For example, when a terminal device reports a DSR MACCE, the DS information is obtained from each LCH.
[0311] 2) MAC acquires the DS information of one or more associated LCH / PDCP / RLCs.
[0312] 3) MAC performs statistical analysis, merging, calculation, and classification of the DS information from multiple LCH / PDCP / RLCs.
[0313] 4) MAC determines the minimum reporting portion, minimum reporting threshold, or portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold for one or each LCG.
[0314] 5) MAC will include the LCH1 information in the corresponding part (i.e., the minimum reporting part of LCG1, or the minimum reporting threshold, or the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold).
[0315] For example, if the DSR reporting information for a PDCP / RLC is determined for an entire LCG (e.g., reporting several parts, the latency / data volume of each part, or the minimum part, etc.), then it includes at least one of the following:
[0316] 1) The PDCP / RLC of LCH1 obtains the DS information of the PDCP / RLC of other LCHs.
[0317] For example, the other LCHs are other LCHs in the same LCG as LCH1.
[0318] For example, LCH1 informs at least one of the following: whether only retransmission / control PDUs are used, and the amount of data / latency of the retransmission / control PDUs.
[0319] For example, LCH2 specifies the minimum reporting portion and the minimum reporting threshold.
[0320] For example, if LCH2 triggers DSR, LCH1 obtains relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs; or, LCH1 requests relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs.
[0321] For example, the DS information is exchanged between PDCP / RLC in real time or periodically.
[0322] For example, if LCH2 triggers DSR, LCH2 informs other LCHs in the LCG of the DS information of LCH2.
[0323] For example, when a terminal device reports a DSR MACCE, LCH1 obtains the relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs; or, LCH1 requests the relevant DS information from the RLC / PDCP of other LCHs.
[0324] 2) Each LCH / PDCP / RLC performs statistics, merges, calculations, and classifications on its own DS information.
[0325] 3) LCH1, based on the DS information of other LCHs, determines the minimum reporting portion, minimum reporting threshold, or portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold for one or each LCG.
[0326] 4) LCH1, based on the DS information of other LCHs, determines its own minimum reporting portion, or minimum reporting threshold, or the portion corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold.
[0327] 5) LCH1 will include its own DS information in the corresponding part (i.e., the minimum reporting part of LCG1, or the minimum reporting threshold, or the part corresponding to the minimum reporting threshold).
[0328] 6) Each LCH / PDCP / RLC exchanges its own DS information with the MAC.
[0329] Extended Scheme 1: LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. (That is, it is not determined based on LCH2 in Example 5, but based on the information of LCH5).
[0330] Extended Scheme 2: LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1.
[0331] Extended Scheme 3: LCH1 and LCH5 are associated with DRB1. (That is, it is still determined based on LCH2 in Example 5, not based on the information of LCH5).
[0332] Example 5 treats an LCG or a DRB as a whole, which helps to ensure the overall transmission requirements.
[0333] It should be noted that the difference between Example 5 and Example 3 is that Example 5 processes retransmissions and control PDUs together. However, Example 3 can report retransmission packets according to their characteristics when they occur, and its method / result is the same as Example 5 only when control PDUs occur.
[0334] Example 6:
[0335] If an LCG has multiple LCHs or DC / DAPS is associated with multiple LCHs, and each of at least some of these LCHs has delayed reporting data or delayed critical data, but the first reporting part is different, then the control PDUs and / or retransmission data in each of the at least some LCHs can be processed in one or more of the following ways.
[0336] Method 1: Place it in the first configuration section of the LCG.
[0337] Method 2: Place it in the first reported section of the LCG.
[0338] Method 3: Place it in the first reported portion of each LCH in at least a portion of the LCHs in the LCG.
[0339] The method embodiments of this application have been described in detail above with reference to Figures 1 to 3.
