[0032] Conventionally, while a UE is in idle / inactive mode, it shall perform measurements on the serving and neighbor cells and evaluate if cell reselection is required based on some cell reselection criterion. A certain requirement for the cell reselection is specified: the UE shall be able to evaluate if a cell meets the reselection criteria within a certain time period which may be referred to as a cell reselection delay. For example, the intra-frequency NR cells, the UE shall be able to identify new intra-frequency cells and perform signal synchronization reference signal received power (SS-RSRP) and signal synchronization reference signal received quality (SS-RSRQ) measurements of the identified intra-frequency cells according to the measurement rules. The cell reselecting delay may comprise the time periods for the measurements and cell reselection criteria evaluation.

[0033] To verify the above requirement, test cases are designed. As the evaluation of cell reselection criterion is an autonomous behavior of the UE, the evaluation can only be tested indirectly by testing UE actions following the reselection. The cell reselection test case is designed by checking if the UE is transmitting a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble on the target cell to prove the success of cell reselection according to the defined reselection requirements. In the test case, a cell reselection delay is defined referring to the transmission of PRACH preamble, so that UE shall be able to send preamble on the PRACH in the target cell to prove the UE is successfully reselecting to the cell within a certain time.

[0034] However, when UE is performing cell reselection to a cell supporting OD-SIB1, a new procedure i.e. UL WUS transmission is introduced to request OD-SIB1 from the target cell. The UL WUS transmission takes additional time which would be counted into the determination of the cell reselection delay. The additional time caused by the UL WUS transmission affects the verification of the UE with regard to the requirement. Therefore, the UL WUS transmission needs to be taken into account in the cell reselection delay and how to define the UE behavior, requirement and test case is also desired.

[0035] In view of the above, example embodiments of the present disclosure provide a cell reselection delay determination mechanism based on the UL WUS transmission associated with an OD-SIB1 cell. In the mechanism, when the UE is camping on a first cell, the UE performs at least one measurement on a second cell and determines a delay associated with cell reselection to the second cell based on UL WUS transmission associated with the second cell.

[0036] According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the determination of cell reselection associated with the UL WUS transmission is provided. As a result, the corresponding delay requirement and / or the related test case verifying the UE behavior and requirement related to timely transmission of UL WUS in connection with a cell reselection can be established based thereon. In this way, the UE is able to perform cell reselection to a cell supporting OD-SIB1 and transmit UL WUS within a given delay according to the defined rules.

[0037] Hereinafter, the mechanism or principle of the cell reselection mechanism will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 9. FIG. 1 illustrates an example of a network environment 100 in which some example embodiments of the present disclosure may be implemented. The environment 100, which may be a part of a communication network, includes a terminal device 110, a network device 120 providing a cell 130 and a network 140 providing a cell 150.

[0038] The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of devices and cells. In the communication environment 100, the network device 120 may provide services to the terminal device 110, and the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 may communicate data and control information with each other. In some embodiments, the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 may communicate with direct links / channels. In the meantime, the terminal device 110 is also in the coverage of the serving range of the cell 150 which is a neighbor cell of the cell 130.

[0039] In the system 100, a link from the network device 120 to the terminal device 110 is referred to as a downlink (DL) , while a link from the terminal device 110 to the network device 120 is referred to as an uplink (UL) . In downlink, the network device 120 is a transmitting (TX) device (or a transmitter) and the terminal device 110 is a receiving (RX) device (or a receiver) . In uplink, the terminal device 110 is a transmitting TX device (or a transmitter) and the network device 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) . It is to be understood that the network device 120 may provide one or more serving cells. In some alternative embodiments, the network device 120 may provide both of the cell 130 and the cell 150.

[0040] As illustrated in FIG. 1, the UE camps on the cell 130 and is in idle / inactive mode. At a time point, the UE may be triggered to perform cell reselection. The terminal device 110 may perform measurements on the serving cell 130 and its neighbor cells, for example the cell 150. The terminal device 110 may determine to perform cell reselection to the cell 150 once the cell reselection criterion is fulfilled. The terminal device 110 reselects to the cell 150 within a delay associated with the UL WUS transmission on the cell 150. After the cell reselection is complete, the terminal device 110 camps on the cell 150.

[0041] Once the terminal device 110 is connected with the network device 140, a link from the network device 140 to the terminal device 110 is also referred to as a DL, while a link from the terminal device 110 to the network device 120 is referred to as a UL. In downlink, the network device 140 will be a TX device (or a transmitter) and the terminal device 110 will be a RX device (or a receiver) . In uplink, the terminal device 110 is a TX device (or a transmitter) and the network device 120 is a RX device (or a receiver) .

[0042] It is to be understood that the particular number of various communication devices and the particular number of various communication links as shown in FIG. 1 is for illustration purpose only without suggesting any limitations. The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of communication devices, any suitable number of communication links, and any suitable number of other elements adapted for implementing communications. In addition, it should be appreciated that there may be various wireless as well as wireline communications (if needed) among all of the communication devices.

[0043] Communications among devices in the communication environment 100 may be implemented according to any appropriate communication protocol (s) , including, but not limited to, cellular communication protocols of the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) and the fifth generation (5G) , the sixth generation (6G) , and on the like, wireless local network communication protocols such as Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 and the like, and / or any other protocols currently known or to be developed in the future. Moreover, the communication may utilize any appropriate wireless communication technology, comprising but not limited to: Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) , Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) , Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) , Time Division Duplex (TDD) , Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) , Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple (OFDM) , Discrete Fourier Transform spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) and / or any other technologies currently known or to be developed in the future.

[0044] FIG. 2 illustrates a schematic block diagram for an example OD-SIB1 requesting procedure 200 in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. After a UE (may be corresponding to the terminal device 110 in FIG. 1) camps on the reselected cell (may be corresponding to the cell 150 in FIG. 1) after the reselection procedure, the UE in idle mode needs to send UL WUS in order to request the OD-SIB1 from the cell which uses OD-SIB1. As illustrated in FIG. 2, in the procedure 200, the UE sends UL WUS signal 210, which is a RACH preamble, to the cell (network) on a UL WUS occasion. Following a transmission of the UL WUS signal 210 by the UE, the UE expects a reply from the network, received during a specific period, a random access response (RAR) window 220. Within this RAR window 220, the UE is monitoring for the expected RAR from the network in response to the UL WUS signal 210. Upon receiving a RAR 221 during the RAR window 220, the UE will start monitoring transmission of the SIB1 (OD-SIB1) within a SIB1 monitoring window 230. Following the reception of OD-SIB1, the other necessary SIBs will also be received. In the procedure 200, the transmission of the UL WUS 210 and the subsequent receipt of the system information would take additional time than the conventional procedure without OD-SIB1. Thus, the time associated with the UL WUS transmission is taken into consideration.

[0045] FIG. 3 illustrates a signaling diagram for an example procedure 300 for determining a cell reselection delay in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the procedure 300 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The method 300 may involve a terminal device and a network device for example the terminal device 110 and the network device 150 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It would be appreciated that although the procedure 300 has been described in the communication environment 100 of FIG. 1, this procedure may be likewise applied to other communication scenarios. Furthermore, in the procedure 300, it is possible to add, omit, modify one or more operations, or the operations may also be performed in any suitable order without departing from the scope of the present disclosure.

[0046] As illustrated in FIG. 3, at 302, the terminal device 110 monitors the synchronization signal block (SSB) from the network device 140. The terminal device 110 is camping on a first cell which may be corresponding to the cell 130 as illustrated in FIG. 1. The cell 130 is a serving cell which is provided by the network device 120 in FIG. 1. The network device 150 provides a neighbor cell 140 supporting OD-SIB1.

[0047] At 304, the terminal device 110 performs at least one measurement on the cell 140 supporting OD-SIB1. At 306, the terminal device 110 determines a delay associated with cell reselection to the second cell based at least on UL WUS transmission associated with the second cell. The delay may be defined as a time period within which the UE shall be able to evaluate whether the second cell meets reselection criteria and transmit the UL WUS on the second cell.

[0048] According to the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 3, the determination of cell reselection associated with the UL WUS transmission is provided.

[0049] FIG. 4 illustrates a signaling diagram for an example procedure 400 for verifying the delay associated with the cell reselection to an OD-SIB1 cell in accordance with further embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the procedure 400 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. It would be appreciated that although the procedure 400 has been described in the communication environment 100 of FIG. 1, this procedure may be likewise applied to other communication scenarios. Furthermore, in the procedure 400, it is possible to add, omit, modify one or more operations, or the operations may also be performed in any suitable order without departing from the scope of the present disclosure.

[0050] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the procedure 400 involves a UE 401, a cell 1 403 and a cell 2 405. The UE 401 may be corresponding to the terminal device 110, the cell 1 403 may be corresponding to the cell 130, and the cell 2 405 may be corresponding to the cell 150 in FIG. 1. At 402, the UE 401 is camping on the cell 1 403 and in idle mode.

[0051] At 404, UE 401 receives system information from the cell 1 403 including the cell reselection parameters and the UL WUS configuration if there is at least one neighbor cell supporting OD-SIB1. At 406 and 408, the UE 401 keeps monitoring the cell 1 403, including the SSBs. At this state the cell 2 405 is not yet power on, i.e. the UE 401 is not able to detect the cell 2 405. At 410, the cell 2 405 is powered on. Starting from this time point, the UE 401 is able to detect the cell 2 405. At 412 and 414, the UE 401 performs measurement on the cell 2 405 by monitoring SSBs on the cell 2 405. It takes the UE 401 a time period to identify, measure and evaluate the newly-detectable cell 2 405, and the UE 401 detected the cell 2 at 416. At 418, the UE also evaluates whether the cell reselection condition and optional the UL WUS transmission condition are fulfilled to determine whether the cell reselection to cell 2 is required.

[0052] In the illustrated embodiment, the UE 401 reselects to the cell 2 405. At 420, after UE 401 has reselected to cell 2, UE starts to send UL WUS on the cell 2 405. If the UE 401 fails to receive a RAR in a predefined time, the UE 401 retransmits the ULWUS until one UL WUS is successfully transmitted at 422. After the UL WUS transmission, the UE 401 receives a RAR at 424. Then, the UE 401 monitors the cell 2 405 and receives the OD-SIB1 at 426. Sequentially, at 428, the UE 401 receives further system information. At 430, the UE 401 transmits the PRACH preamble and completes access procedure. At 432, the UE 401 is camping on the cell 2 405 and in idle mode.

[0053] In the above procedure, several time points have drawn the attention, including the time point when the cell 2 405 becomes detectable at 410, a time point for the transmission of the first UL WUS at 420, a time point for the transmission of the last UL WUS before the RAR is received at 422 and a time point for the transmission of the PRACH preamble. These time points may all be detected and may be used for defining the delay associated with cell reselection to an OD-SIB1 cell. On this basis, there are three options to define the delay associated with the cell resection to an OD-SIB1 cell.

[0054] In a first option, the delay may be defined as a UL WUS transmission delay T2 from a time point at 410 when the cell 2 405 becomes detectable to a time point of transmission of the first UL WUS on the cell 2 405 l at 420. The UL WUS transmission delay associated with the first UL WUS will be described with reference to FIGS. 5A to 5B.

[0055] FIG. 5A illustrates a schematic block diagram for an example procedure 500A for verifying cell reselection delay in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As illustrated in FIG. 5A, a UE is camping on the serving cell 510 and in the idle mode. The UE has received system information of neighbor cells supporting OD-SIB1 from the serving cell 510. The system information includes the cell reselection parameters and the UL WUS configuration. Further, the UE 401 keeps receiving paging 512-1, paging 512-2 and paging 512-3.

[0056] At the time point t0, a target cell 520 which is one of the neighbor cells of the serving cell 510 is not yet power on, i.e. the UE is not able to detect the target cell 520. At time point t1 i.e. the end point of T1, the target cell 520 is powered on. At this time point, the UE is able to detect the target cell 520. Since the UE has not detected the target cell 520, the UE performs measurement on the target cell 520 by monitoring the SSB 522-1, the SSB 522-2, the SSB 522-3 and the SSB 522-4 on the target cell 520. It takes the UE a time period to identify, measure and evaluate the newly-detectable target cell 520. The UE also evaluates whether the cell reselection condition and optional the UL WUS transmission condition are fulfilled to determine whether the cell reselection to cell 2 is required. At the time point t2, the UE determines that the cell reselection condition if fulfilled. Then, the UE reselects to the target cell 520. After the UE has reselected to the target cell 520, the UE starts to send UL WUS 524 on the target cell 520. At the time point t3, the UE transmits the first UL WUS on the target cell 520. After the UE successfully transmits the UL WUS, the UE receives a RAR 526 and following SIBs 528.

[0057] In the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 5A, the time period for detecting the target cell 520 and for evaluating the cell reselection conditions is denoted as Tdetect, NR_Intra which is from the time point t1 to the time point t2. Further, the time period for the UL WUS transmission is denoted as TUL_WUS. In one example, TUL_WUS can be set to the periodicity of UL WUS occasions. The UL WUS delay is denoted as T2.

[0058] FIG. 5B illustrates a schematic block diagram for an example procedure 500B for verifying the delay associated with the cell reselection to an OD-SIB1 cell in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The difference between the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 5A and the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 5B, is that the UE has already detected the target cell 520. In this case, after the target cell 520 is powered on at time point t1, the UE is able to detect the target cell 520. Since the UE has detected the target cell 520, the UE does not need to perform cell detection and only needs to perform measurement for a shorter time period to evaluate if cell reselection is needed on the target cell 520. It only takes the UE a time period to evaluate whether the cell reselection condition and optional the UL WUS transmission condition are fulfilled to determine whether the cell reselection to cell 2 is required. The time period for evaluating the cell reselection conditions is denoted as Tevaluate, NR_Intra which is from the time point t1 to the time point t2

[0059] According to the embodiments as illustrated in FIGS. 5A and 5B, the UL WUS transmission delay is defined as the time from the time the cell supporting OD-SIB1 (i.e. the target cell 520) becomes detectable i.e. the end of T1 or the start of T2, to the moment when the UE transmits the first UL WUS on the target cell 520 supporting OD-SIB1. In these embodiments, the UL WUS transmission delay T2 is defined as below: T2 = Tdetect, NR_Intra + TUL_WUS, if the target cell 520 has not been detected, or T2 = Tevaluate, NR_Intra + TUL_WUS, if the target cell 520 has already been detected where Tdetect, NR_Intra and Tevaluate, NR_intra are predefined.

[0060] In some example embodiments, Tdetect, NR_Intra and Tevaluate, NR_intra are defined in the following Table 1 which is reproduced from table 4.2.2.3-1 in clause 4.2.2.3 in TS 38.304: Table 1

[0061] TUL_WUS is the time to transmit the first UL WUS in the target cell supporting OD-SIB1. In some example embodiments, TUL_WUS may be set to the periodicity of UL WUS transmission e.g. in UL WUS configuration. This time period can be optionally present which can be captured in the time for cell reselection evaluation Tdetect, NR_Intra or Tevaluate, NR_intra.

[0062] Back to FIG. 4, in a second option, the delay may be defined as a UL WUS transmission delay T2 from a time point at 410 when the cell 2 405 becomes detectable to a time point of successful transmission of the UL WUS on the cell 2 405 at 422. The successful transmission of the UL WUS is a transmission of a last UL WUS prior to receipt of a random access response (RAR) associated with the UL WUS. In these embodiments, the UL WUS transmission delay may comprise a time period for cell reselection criteria evaluation, and a time period for at least one transmission of the UL WUS. The time period for at least one transmission of the UL WUS may comprise transmission and retransmission of UL WUS which is defined as a maximum number of UL WUS transmission as indicated by network. The UL WUS transmission delay associated with the last UL WUS will be described with reference to FIG. 6.

[0063] FIG. 6 illustrates a schematic block diagram for an example procedure 600 for verifying the delay associated with the cell reselection to an OD-SIB1 cell in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As illustrated in FIG. 6, a UE is camping on the serving cell 610 and in the idle mode. The UE has received system information of neighbor cells supporting OD-SIB1 from the serving cell 610. The system information includes the cell reselection parameters and the UL WUS configuration. Further, the UE keeps receiving paging 612-1, paging 612-2 and paging 612-3.

[0064] At the time point t0, a target cell 620 which is one of the neighbor cells of the serving cell 610 is not yet power on, i.e. the UE is not able to detect the target cell 620. At time point t1, the target cell 620 is powered on. At this time point, the UE is able to detect the target cell 620. Since the UE has not detected the target cell 620, the UE performs measurement on the target cell 620 by monitoring the SSB 622-1, the SSB 622-2, and the SSB 622-3 on the target cell 620. It takes the UE a time period to identify, measure and evaluate the newly-detectable target cell 620. The UE also evaluates whether the cell reselection condition and optional the UL WUS transmission condition are fulfilled to determine whether the cell reselection to cell 2 is required. At the time point t2, the UE determines that the cell reselection condition if fulfilled. Then, the UE reselects to the target cell 620. After the UE has reselected to the target cell 620, the UE starts to send UL WUS 624 on the target cell 620. At the time point t3, the UE transmits the first UL WUS 624-1 on the target cell 620. However, the transmission of the first UL WUS 624-1 is not successful. That is, the UE fails to receive a RAR in a predefined time. The UE retransmits the UL WUS until the UL WUS 624-2 is successfully transmitted at the time point t4. After the UE successfully transmits the UL WUS 624-2, the UE receives a RAR 626 and following SIBs 628.

[0065] In the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 6, the time period for detecting the target cell 620 and for evaluating the cell reselection conditions is denoted as Tdetect, NR_Intra which is from the time point t1 to the time point t2. Further, the time period for the UL WUS transmission is denoted as TUL_WUS and the time period for the UL WUS retransmission is denoted as (N-1) *TUL_WUS. The UL WUS transmission delay is denoted as T2.

[0066] According to the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 6, the UL WUS transmission delay T2 is defined as the time from the time the cell supporting OD-SIB1 (i.e. the target cell 620) becomes detectable i.e. the end of T1 or the start of T2, to the moment when the UE successfully sends the UL WUS on the target cell 620 supporting OD-SIB1. In these embodiments, the UL WUS transmission delay T2 is defined as below: T2 = Tdetect, NR_Intra +N*TUL_WUS, if the target cell 520 has not been detected, or T2 = Tevaluate, NR_Intra + N*TUL_WUS, if the target cell 520 has already been detected where Tdetect, NR_Intra and Tevaluate, NR_intra are predefined. In some example embodiments,  Tdetect, NR_Intra and Tevaluate, NR_intra are defined in the above table 1.

[0067] TUL_WUS is the time to transmit each UL WUS in the target cell supporting OD-SIB1. In some example embodiments, TUL_WUS may be set to the periodicity of UL WUS transmission e.g. in UL WUS configuration. N is the number of UL WUS transmission before it receives the RAR in response to the UL WUS transmission. In some example embodiments, N may be set to the maximum number of UL WUS transmission configured by the network e.g. in UL WUS configuration.

[0068] Back to FIG. 4, in a third option, the delay T2 is defined as a cell reselection delay which is a time period from a time point when the cell 2 405 becomes detectable at 410 to a time point of transmission of a preamble on PRACH after the UL WUS transmission on the cell 2 405 at 430. In some example embodiments, the delay T2 comprises a time period for cell reselection criteria evaluation, a time period for UL WUS transmission and / or retransmission, a time period for receiving the RAR, a time period for monitoring OD-SIB1, and a time period for receiving further system information following the reception of the OD-SIB1. In some example embodiments, the time period for receiving the further system information may be determined as a maximum repetition period of relevant system information blocks to be received by the terminal device, and the time period for UL WUS transmission or retransmission, the time period for receiving the RAR, the time period for monitoring OD-SIB1 are combined as a total UL WUS transmission period. The cell reselection delay associated with the PRACH preamble will be described with reference to FIG 7.

[0069] FIG. 7 illustrates a schematic block diagram for an example procedure 700 for verifying the delay associated with the cell reselection to an OD-SIB1 cell in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As illustrated in FIG. 7, a UE is camping on the serving cell 710 and in the idle mode. The UE has received system information of neighbor cells supporting OD-SIB1 from the serving cell 710. The system information includes the cell reselection parameters and the UL WUS configuration. Further, the UE keeps receiving paging 712-1, paging 712-2 and paging 712-3.

[0070] At the time point t0, a target cell 720 which is one of the neighbor cells of the serving cell 710 is not yet power on, i.e. the UE is not able to detect the target cell 720. At time point t1, the target cell 720 is powered on. At this time point, the UE is able to detect the target cell 720. Since the UE has not detected the target cell 720, the UE performs measurement on the target cell 720 by monitoring the SSB 721-1, the SSB 721-2, and the SSB 721-3 on the target cell 720. It takes the UE a time period to identify, measure and evaluate the newly-detectable target cell 720. The UE also evaluates whether the cell reselection condition and optional the UL WUS transmission condition are fulfilled to determine whether the cell reselection to the target cell 720 is required. At the time point t2, the UE determines that the cell reselection condition if fulfilled. Then, the UE reselects to the target cell 720. After the UE has reselected to the target cell 720, the UE starts to send UL WUS 722 on the target cell 720. At the time point t3, the UE transmits the first UL WUS 722-1 on the target cell 720. However, the transmission of the first UL WUS 722-1 is not successful. That is, the UE fails to receive a RAR in a predefined time. The UE retransmits the UL WUS for N-1 times where N is an integer greater than 1 until the UL WUS 722-2 is successfully transmitted at the time point t4. After the UL WUS transmission, the UE receives a RAR 723 at the time point t5. Then, the UE monitors the target cell 720 and receives the OD-SIB1 724 at the time point t6. Sequentially, at the time point t7, the UE receives further system information blocks 725. At the time point t8, the UE transmits the PRACH preamble 726 to set up RRC connection with cell 2.

[0071] In the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 7, the time period for detecting the target cell 720 and for evaluating the cell reselection conditions is denoted as Tdetect, NR_Intra which is from the time point t1 to the time point t2. Further, the time period for the UL WUS transmission is denoted as TUL_WUS and the time period for the UL WUS retransmission is denoted as (N-1) *TUL_WUS. The time period for receiving the RAR from the time point t4 to the time point t5 is denoted as TRAR. The time period for receiving the OD-SIB1 from the time point t5 to the time point t6 is denoted as TOD-SIB1. The time period for receiving the other SIBs and for transmitting the PRACH preamble from the time point t6 to the time point t8 is denoted as TSI_NR_other. Further, a combined time period from transmitting the UL WUS to transmitting the PRACH preamble is denoted as TSI_NR which includes the time period for overall UL WUS procedure and the time period for receiving all relevant system information. The delay associated with the cell reselection to an OD-SIB1 cell is denoted as T2.

[0072] According to the embodiment as illustrated in FIG. 7, the cell reselection delay is defined as the time from the time the cell supporting OD-SIB1 (i.e. the target cell 720) becomes detectable i.e. the end of T1 or the start of T2, to the moment when the UE successfully transmits the preambles 726 on PRACH for sending RRCSetupRequest message on the target cell 720 supporting OD-SIB1. In these embodiments, the UL WUS transmission delay T2 is defined as below: T2 = Tdetect, NR_Intra + N*TUL_WUS + TRAR + TOD-SIB1 + TSI_NR_other, if the target cell 720 has not  been detected, or T2 = Tevaluate, NR_Intra + N*TUL_WUS + TRAR + TOD-SIB1+ TSI_NR_other, if Cell2 has already been  detected, where Tdetect, NR_Intra and Tevaluate, NR_intra are predefined. In some example embodiments,  Tdetect, NR_Intra and Tevaluate, NR_intra are defined in the above Table 1.

[0073] TUL_WUS is the time to transmit the first UL WUS in the target cell supporting OD-SIB1. In some example embodiments, TUL_WUS may be set to the periodicity of UL WUS transmission e.g. in UL WUS configuration. N may be optional and is the number of UL WUS transmission before it receives the RAR. In some example embodiments, N may be set to the maximum number of UL WUS transmission configured by the network e.g. in UL WUS configuration. TRAR is the time to receive RAR in the target cell supporting OD-SIB1 after UE sends the last UL WUS signal. In some example embodiments, TRAR may include the gap between PRACH and RAR window and the length of the RAR window. TOD-SIB1 is the time to receive OD-SIB1 in the target cell supporting OD-SIB1 since UE receives RAR. TSI-NR_other is the maximum repetition period of relevant system info blocks except OD-SIB1 that needs to be received by the UE before UE is allowed to transmit preamble (for example, decide that UE can camp on a cell) .

[0074] It should be appreciated that although separate parameters are used above when defining the proposed delay, some of the parameters may be merged into one parameter, but the corresponding values are counted in the single parameter.

[0075] In view of some embodiments of the present disclosure, a new test case can be specified in TS 38.133 as follows. [0094] In some example embodiments, the apparatus comprises means for performing measurement on a second cell supporting on demand system information block 1 (OD-SIB1) , wherein the terminal device is camping on a first cell; and means for determining a delay associated with cell reselection to the second cell based at least on uplink (UL) wake up signal (WUS) transmission associated with the second cell.

[0095] In some example embodiments, the delay is defined as a time period within which the UE is able to evaluate whether the second cell meets reselection criteria and transmit the UL WUS on the second cell.

[0096] In some example embodiments, the delay is defined as a UL WUS transmission delay from a time point when the second cell becomes detectable to a time point of transmission of the UL WUS on the second cell.
