[0003] This application relates to the field of display device technology, and more particularly to a display device. Background Technology

[0004] Display devices refer to terminal devices capable of outputting specific display images, such as smart TVs, mobile terminals, smart advertising screens, and projectors. Taking smart TVs as an example, smart TVs are television products based on Internet application technologies, possessing open operating systems and chips, and having open application platforms. They enable two-way human-computer interaction and integrate multiple functions such as audio-visual, entertainment, and data to meet diverse and personalized user needs.

[0005] Display devices can be configured with multiple image modes, each corresponding to a set of image parameters, also known as an image parameter group. Thus, when a display device uses an image mode, it is actually using the corresponding set of image parameters, which achieves the desired image quality. Different content types require specific image modes for optimal image quality. Therefore, if the content type being played on the display device does not support the currently used image mode, it will affect the content's image quality. Summary of the Invention

[0021] Figure 1 illustrates the operation scenario of the display device 200, control device 100, mobile terminal 300, and server 400. Users can operate the display device 200 via touch, voice, or control device 100 (such as a remote control); the display device 200 communicates with the server 400 via local area network (LAN), wireless local area network (WLAN), etc., and supports functions such as broadcast television, IPTV, smart television, and IPTV.

[0022] Figure 2 is a hardware block diagram of display device 200, which includes at least one of the following: tuner 210, communication device 220, detector 230, device interface 240, controller 250, display 260, audio output device 270, user input interface 280, memory, and power supply.

[0023] Communication device 220 is used to communicate with external devices or server 400 according to different communication protocols, and can be wired or wireless. Detector 230 collects external environmental or interactive signals. Device interface 240 is used to connect to external devices.

[0024] The controller 250 controls the overall operation of the display device 200 and may include a CPU, video processor, audio processor, GPU, power processor, and multiple interfaces. It responds to user operations via software programs stored in memory. The tuner / demodulator 210 may be integrated into the main unit of the controller 250 or located in an external device (such as a set-top box). The display 260 receives and displays image signals output from the controller 250 and includes display function components and driving components. The user can input commands on the display 260 via a graphical user interface (GUI), which are received by the user input interface 280. The audio output device 270 may be a local speaker or an external audio device.

[0025] The display device 200 runs an operating system, manages hardware and software resources, and provides a user interface. The operating system can be a native, custom, or proprietary system, and typically consists of four layers, as shown in Figure 3, which may include: the application layer, the application framework layer, the system runtime library layer, and the kernel layer.

[0026] The application layer runs applications; the framework layer provides APIs and programming frameworks; the system runtime library layer supports the framework layer (such as C / C++ libraries); and the kernel layer implements hardware abstraction, multitasking, memory management, etc.

[0027] Display device 200 supports multiple image modes, each corresponding to a set of image parameters (i.e., image parameter groups) to achieve specific image quality effects (such as movie mode, sports mode, and game mode). Image parameters include brightness, resolution, contrast, color, color temperature, etc., and can be grouped by category. The video source played by display device 200 corresponds to different video source types, such as SDR, HDR, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, etc. Different video source types support different image modes. If the current image mode is not supported by the video source type, it will affect the image quality. To this end, this application embodiment provides a display device 200 that: during the process of setting a target image mode, if a video source type switch is detected and the new video source type does not support the target image mode, the user is promptly notified to ensure image quality. When playing the first video source of the first video source type, display device 200 automatically applies its supported first image mode (which can be a basic or custom mode).

[0028] The process of playing a first video source on a display device provided in this application embodiment may include steps S401 to S403:

[0029] Step S401: In response to the instruction to play the first video source, obtain the first video source type corresponding to the first video source.

[0030] In some embodiments, the instruction to play the first video source can be a power-on instruction, an instruction to play a specified signal source, an instruction to play a network program, etc.

[0031] Display devices can determine the corresponding video source type by parsing the received video source signal.

[0032] Step S402: Obtain the first image mode supported by the first source type.

[0033] In some embodiments, the display device may store in its memory a first correspondence between each source type and the supported image modes. A source type may support one or more image modes; that is, a source type may have a first correspondence with at least one image mode.

[0034] In some embodiments, the display device may store and manage the first correspondence in a configuration file in memory, and manage the first correspondence in the configuration file by writing and deleting, that is, manage the support relationship between source type and image mode.

[0035] The display device can read the first correspondences from the configuration file and determine the first image mode that has the first correspondence with the first source type.

[0036] Step S403: Switch the image mode to the first image mode to play the first video source in the first image mode.

[0037] In some cases, if the first image mode includes an image mode, the first source material is played in that image mode.

[0038] In some cases, if the first image mode includes multiple image modes, the current video source is played in one of these multiple image modes. This single image mode can be the default image mode used for the first video source type, the image mode used when the first video source was last played, a random image mode among the multiple image modes, or an image mode selected by the display device based on the current playback conditions (such as playback environment, network environment, etc.).

[0039] In some embodiments, the display device applies a certain image mode (taking the first image mode as an example), or switches the image mode from one image mode to another (taking the first image mode as an example), including: adjusting the corresponding image parameters of the system according to the image parameter group corresponding to the first image mode, so as to adjust the value of the corresponding image parameter of the system to the same value as the image parameter in the image parameter group. Referring to the operating system configuration diagram shown in Figure 3, a Settings application is configured in the application layer of the operating system. This Settings application is used to support the function of user-defined image modes.

[0040] Figure 4 is a flowchart of setting the target image mode of the display device provided in the embodiment of this application. As shown in Figure 4, it includes the following steps S501 to S503:

[0041] Step S501: In response to the startup operation set for the first configuration page, control the display to show the first configuration page and register a monitoring service; the first configuration page is used to configure the image modes supported by the first video source type, and the monitoring service is used to monitor for video source type switching.

[0042] The target image mode in this application embodiment refers to the image mode customized by the user for the first source material type. The startup operation set includes multiple operations for controlling the display device to open the first configuration page corresponding to the first source material type.

[0043] The first configuration page, also known as the custom settings page or custom image mode settings page, is used to customize the image modes supported by the first source material type. In other words, the first configuration page specifically supports configuring image modes supported by the first source material type, and does not support setting image modes not supported by the first source material type.

[0044] In some embodiments, the configurable image parameters provided on the first configuration page are all image parameters supported by the first source image type. Referring to Figure 3, in response to starting the operating system, the display device launches a settings application. This settings application can provide a settings picture, which includes the first configuration page. After determining that the target image mode can be started, the display device registers a monitoring service to listen for changes in source image type. In a specific implementation, the display device can determine that the target image mode can be started and register the monitoring service after detecting the display of the first configuration page.

[0045] In some embodiments, the display device can register a listening service when it recognizes that the top-level activity is the activity of the first configuration page. Referring to Figure 3, the operating system also configures a platform interface adaptation layer (AV Middleware), also known as a platform middleware layer. The platform middleware layer is configured with middleware for implementing various functions. In some embodiments, the platform interface adaptation layer can be configured with a listening signal middleware. The listening signal middleware can be used to call the listening service and report the listening results of the listening service to the settings application. The kernel layer is configured with a dependency library that provides the MediaTek (MTK) interface. The MTK interface can be used to acquire source signals and can identify whether a change in signal type has occurred between the currently acquired source signal and the previous source signal, i.e., whether a source type switch has occurred.

[0046] In some embodiments, the display device may respond to a user's startup operation set to set a target image mode by opening a first configuration page via a settings application. After opening the first configuration page, the settings application registers a listening service through a listening signal middleware.

[0047] Step S502: In response to the set of setting operations for the target image mode, a setting process for the image mode is initiated; the setting process includes configuring target image parameters for the target image mode; and after configuring the target image parameters, confirming the completion of the setting process and switching the first image mode to the target image mode.

[0048] As shown in Figure 3, the platform interface adaptation layer can be configured with an image mode middleware, which is used to perform the task of setting the target image mode. The platform interface adaptation layer can also be configured with an activation setting middleware, which is used to perform the task of applying the target image mode. The platform interface adaptation layer can also be configured with a setting parameter middleware. When performing the task of applying the target image mode, the activation setting middleware can call the setting parameter middleware to adjust the system's image parameters to switch the first image mode to the target image mode.

[0049] In some embodiments, the display device may, in response to a user's set of settings operations, pass configured target image parameters to the platform interface adaptation layer via a settings application, and also pass an instruction to apply a target image mode to the platform interface adaptation layer. The effective settings middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer, in response to this instruction, generates a corresponding target image mode based on each configured target image parameter, and calls an image mode middleware to store the target image mode.

[0050] In some embodiments, the activation setting middleware also invokes the setting parameter middleware to switch the first image mode to the target image mode. After switching to the target image mode, the setting parameter middleware can send a refresh notification to the display 260, causing the display to refresh the screen using the target image mode, so as to play the first source video in the target image mode.

[0051] Step S503: Before confirming the completion of the setting process, if the monitoring service detects that the first source type has been switched to the second source type, then the second image mode supported by the second source type is obtained, and the first image mode is switched to the second image mode.

[0052] The completion of the setup process refers to the completion of switching the first image mode to the target image mode. Based on this, before the display device adjusts the system's image parameters to the target image parameters corresponding to the target image mode, if it detects that the first source type has switched to the second source type, that is, the source signal has changed, it will obtain the second image mode supported by the second source type.

[0053] In some embodiments, if the monitoring service detects a change in the source signal through the MTK interface, it reports the change to the monitoring signal middleware. This message may include the type of the source signal before the change and the type of the source signal after the change. The monitoring signal middleware then reports this message to the settings application. The settings application determines the first source type before the change and the second source type after the change based on this message.

[0054] The process of setting the application to obtain the second image mode supported by the second source type can be referred to step S402, and will not be repeated here. It should be noted that user-defined image modes all have corresponding basic image modes.

[0055] In some embodiments, if the custom image mode is set by adding an image mode, the base image mode corresponding to the custom image mode is the currently used base image mode; if another custom image mode is currently used, the base image mode corresponding to the custom image mode is the base image mode corresponding to the other custom image mode.

[0056] In some embodiments, if the custom image mode is set by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode, the base image mode corresponding to the custom image mode is the base image mode corresponding to the existing custom image mode. The process of setting a custom image mode will be described in detail later, and will not be repeated here.

[0057] In some embodiments, a base image mode corresponding to a custom image mode can be written in the configuration file.

[0058] After obtaining the second image mode, the application can further obtain the corresponding base image mode. The application then identifies whether the base image mode corresponding to the second image mode includes the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode. If the base image mode corresponding to the second image mode includes the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode, the second source material type supports the target image mode; if the base image mode corresponding to the second image mode does not include the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode, the second source material type does not support the target image mode.

[0059] In some embodiments, the display device may write available source types that can support custom image modes in a configuration file. For example, available source types include SDR and HDR, but exclude HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The settings application can identify whether a second source type is one of the available source types recorded in the configuration file, i.e., whether it supports custom image modes. If the second source type supports custom image modes, it further identifies whether the second source type supports a target image mode.

[0060] Referring to the operating system shown in Figure 3, the operating system has a configuration middleware configured in the platform interface adaptation layer to determine whether the application supports it. The application can read the available source types from the configuration file by calling the configuration middleware and determine whether the second source type supports the custom image mode.

[0061] Specifically, the application is configured to, when it detects that the second type of video source supports a custom image mode, determine whether the base image mode corresponding to the second image mode includes the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode. If the application detects that the second type of video source does not support a custom image mode, it will directly trigger a prompt message indicating that the second type of video source does not support a custom image mode. Furthermore, the application will no longer perform the task of determining whether the base image mode corresponding to the second image mode includes the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode; that is, it will no longer perform the task of determining whether the second type of video source supports the target image mode.

[0062] In some embodiments, the setting application can identify whether the second source type supports a custom image mode by whether the configuration middleware is supported in the platform interface adaptation layer. If the second source type supports a custom image mode, the application can obtain the second image mode supported by the second source type through the image mode middleware and identify whether the second source type supports the target image mode based on the result fed back by the image mode middleware.

[0063] In some embodiments, before performing step S503, it is necessary to determine whether the second source image type supports the target image mode; if the second source image type does not support the target image mode, the display is controlled to show a prompt message; the prompt message is used to indicate that the second source image type does not support the target image mode. The process of switching the first image mode to the second image mode can be referred to step S403, and will not be elaborated here.

[0064] In some embodiments, if the second source type does not support a custom image mode, or the basic image mode corresponding to the second source type does not include the basic image mode corresponding to the target image mode, it indicates that the second source type does not support the target image mode, and a prompt message needs to be displayed.

[0065] In some embodiments, the setting application sends a parameter setting instruction to the setting parameter middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer to switch the first image mode to the second image mode through the setting parameter middleware. After completing the setting, the setting parameter middleware can send a refresh notification to the display. The display refreshes the screen using the second image mode according to the refresh notification to play the switched second video source in the second image mode.

[0066] If the application detects that the second source material type does not support the target image mode, it sends a pop-up notification to the display so that the display can display a prompt message in the form of a pop-up window.

[0067] In some embodiments, the process and the listener are configured to execute in parallel.

[0068] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 5, before the setup process is completed, the display device displays a first configuration page. If it detects that the first source type has switched to the second source type, such as switching from HDR or SDR to HDR10+ or Dolby Vision, it can be determined that the second source type does not support custom images, that is, the second source type does not support the target image mode. The display device displays a pop-up window 701 on the first configuration page and displays a prompt message in the pop-up window 701, such as "The current source type does not support custom image mode".

[0069] In some embodiments, if the base image mode corresponding to the second image mode includes the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode, it indicates that the second source type supports the target image mode, and no prompt message is displayed.

[0070] Therefore, before the display device completes the process of setting the target image mode, it can listen for changes in the source material type through a monitoring service. If a change in the source material type is detected and the new source material type does not support the target image mode, a prompt can be issued in a timely manner to ensure the picture quality of the played source material.

[0071] In some embodiments, the display device terminates the setup process if it detects that the second source material type does not support the target image mode.

[0072] In some embodiments, if the display device does not support the target image mode in the second source type, it can display a prompt message through the following steps S601 to S603:

[0073] Step S601: Terminate the setup process and display a prompt message.

[0074] When the display device detects that the second source type does not support the target image mode, it terminates the setup process and displays a prompt message.

[0075] Step S602: Obtain the configured target image parameters.

[0076] The configured target image parameters are those customized by the user for the target image mode. Depending on the node where changes in the source signal are detected, the display device can configure all or only some of the target image parameters corresponding to the target image mode.

[0077] In some embodiments, to more accurately manage the progress of setting a target image mode, a first marker can be added to the target image parameters that have been configured. This first marker indicates that the corresponding target image parameter is a configured image parameter. Thus, if the target image mode can be set subsequently, the setting application can quickly locate the configured target image parameters based on the first marker, thereby quickly determining the progress of setting the target image mode and allowing the user to continue setting target image parameters that have not yet been configured based on this progress.

[0078] Step S603: Store the target image mode and the configured target image parameters in the memory.

[0079] The application settings store the target image mode and the configured target image parameters in the memory. In other words, the target image mode and the target image parameters are associated. That is, when using the target image mode, it can be directly associated with the corresponding target image parameters.

[0080] In some embodiments, the setting application also stores the state of the target image mode, which includes a completed configuration state and an incomplete configuration state. The completed configuration state means that all target image parameters have been configured. The incomplete configuration state means that at least one target image parameter has not been configured.

[0081] In some embodiments, the setting application may mark the first source type as supporting the target image mode, that is, the first source type and the target image mode have a first correspondence.

[0082] In some embodiments, the settings application also stores the base image mode corresponding to the target image mode.

[0083] Therefore, if the display device detects a change in the source image type before completing the setup process, and the new source image type does not support the target image mode, it can promptly terminate the setup process. This avoids the user wasting time setting the target image mode if it cannot be applied immediately. Furthermore, the display device stores the configured target image parameters and can also store the progress of setting the target image mode, making it easier for the user to continue setting the target image mode based on that progress later.

[0084] In some embodiments, if the display device recognizes that the second source material type does not support the target image mode, it continues to run the setup process but does not apply the target image mode.

[0085] In some embodiments, if the display device does not support the target image mode in the second source type, it can also display a prompt message through the following steps S701 to S703:

[0086] Step S701: Continue running the setup process, and after completing the configuration of the target image parameters, continue applying the second image mode and display a prompt message;

[0087] If the display device detects that the second source material type does not support the target image mode, it continues the setup process to configure the target image parameters for the target image mode. After configuring all the target image parameters corresponding to the target image mode, it can receive a user instruction to apply the target image mode. However, because the second source material type does not support the target image mode, to ensure the playback quality of the second source material, the display device responds to this instruction by continuing to apply the second image mode without switching to the target image mode. Furthermore, the display device can display a prompt message to indicate that the second source material type does not support the target image mode.

[0088] Step S702: Obtain the target image parameters corresponding to the target image mode.

[0089] Step S703: Store the target image mode and target image parameters in the memory.

[0090] Steps S702-S703 are similar to steps S602-S603, and will not be described in detail here.

[0091] Therefore, if the display device detects a change in the source material type before completing the setup process, and the new source material type does not support the target image mode, it can continue running the setup process, ensuring the continuity of the user's operation in setting the target image mode. Furthermore, after configuring the target image parameters, it will not switch the image mode to maintain the picture quality of the currently playing source material. The display device can also promptly indicate the reason why the target image mode cannot be applied by displaying a prompt message.

[0092] In some embodiments, after displaying the prompt message, the display device may, in response to the user's exit command or after detecting that the prompt message has been displayed for a specified duration, close the prompt message and exit the current page, such as the first configuration page and the page confirming the target image mode of the application, so as to continue playing the second source in the second image mode.

[0093] The following further explains the process by which the display device displays the first configuration page in response to a user's startup operation set. The startup operation set includes a first operation and a second operation.

[0094] The display device in this embodiment can also display the first configuration page through the following steps S801 to S803:

[0095] Step S801: In response to the first operation in the startup operation set, obtain the first source type.

[0096] The first action is used to instruct the user to open the first menu.

[0097] The first menu contains an entry point for setting the image mode. The first menu can be a system menu; for example, it can be a submenu of the system settings menu.

[0098] In some embodiments, the first menu is a tertiary menu corresponding to the Intelligent Settings menu item within the secondary menu of the Display & Sound menu item in the system settings menu. Correspondingly, the display device can respond to a user's instruction based on a setting key on the control device 100 by displaying the system settings menu, which includes the Display & Sound menu item; responding to a user's instruction to select the Display & Sound menu item by displaying the secondary menu corresponding to the Display & Sound menu item, which includes the Intelligent Settings menu item; and responding to a user's instruction to select the Intelligent Settings menu item by displaying the first menu. The first operation corresponds to the user inputting the aforementioned three instructions.

[0099] In some embodiments, the display device may, in response to a first operation, have a setting application read the currently acquired source signal from the MTK interface via a configuration middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer. The configuration middleware determines the current source type based on the source signal returned by the MTK interface. In this embodiment, the current source type is a first source type.

[0100] Step S802: Compare the first source type with the available source types, and display the first menu based on the comparison result.

[0101] As discussed above, display devices can pre-configure available source material types in their configuration files. The display device can then compare the first source material type with the available source material types to obtain a comparison result. If the comparison result indicates that the first source material type is an available source material type, it means that the first source material type supports custom image modes; if the comparison result indicates that the first source material type is not an available source material type, it means that the first source material type does not support custom image modes.

[0102] If the comparison result indicates that the first source type is an available source type, the first menu includes a first menu item, and the first menu item is available. This first menu item is the entry point for setting the image mode.

[0103] In some embodiments, after determining that the first source corresponds to the first source type, the configuration middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer can read the available source types in the configuration file and identify whether the first source type supports custom image modes by comparing the first source type with the available source types. The configuration middleware then returns the comparison result to the settings application, allowing the settings application to display the first menu based on the comparison result.

[0104] For ease of understanding, the following explanation will take the example of the first source type supporting custom image modes, where the comparison result indicates support.

[0105] In step S803, if the first menu includes a first menu item and the first menu item is available, the first configuration page is displayed in response to the second operation in starting the operating system.

[0106] The second operation is the user's action based on the first menu item, such as clicking the first menu item. When displaying the first menu, the display device dynamically shows the first menu item to ensure the validity of the user's corresponding operation of setting the target image mode.

[0107] In some embodiments, the settings application provides multiple ways to set the target image mode, which may include: setting the target image mode by adding an image mode, wherein the added image mode is the target image mode; or setting the target image mode by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode, wherein the reconfigured existing custom image mode is the target image mode.

[0108] In some embodiments, the display device may display the first configuration page based on different target image modes through the following steps S901 to S903:

[0109] Step S901: In response to the second operation, obtain the event type corresponding to the second operation.

[0110] The event type corresponds to the way the target image mode is set. Event types include adding an image mode and reconfiguring an existing custom image mode.

[0111] Step S902: Display the first preview page according to the event type.

[0112] The first preview page includes a preview screen showcasing the image quality of the first image mode.

[0113] In some embodiments, the object used to display the image quality effect of the first image mode can be a preset video or image; wherein, if the event type is to add an image mode, that is, to set the target image mode by adding an image mode, the display device directly displays the first preview page.

[0114] If the event type is "reconfigure an existing custom image mode," meaning the target image mode is set by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode, the display device first displays a second preview page. This second preview page includes a preview of the image quality effect of a third image mode, which is the existing custom image mode to be reconfigured. The display device then displays the first preview page in response to the user's confirmation of the image mode reconfiguration.

[0115] In step S903, in response to the user's confirmation of starting the image mode settings, the first configuration page is displayed.

[0116] In some embodiments, the first preview page may include a first button for confirming the initiation of the target image mode settings. In some embodiments, the first preview page may further include a second button for canceling the initiation of the target image mode settings. The display device displays a first configuration page in response to the user selecting the first button.

[0117] Therefore, the display device can set the target image mode by adding an image mode or reconfiguring an existing custom image mode. Based on the different ways of setting the target image mode, before entering the first configuration page, that is, before starting to set the target image mode, different preview pages are displayed with different strategies. These preview pages demonstrate the image quality effect corresponding to the image mode that will affect the user's custom needs, thereby improving the effectiveness of the user's setting of the target image mode.

[0118] In some embodiments, the display device may initiate a setup process through the following steps S1001 to S1003:

[0119] Step S1001: In response to the third operation in the setting operation set, configure the target image parameters indicated by the user for the target image mode.

[0120] The third operation is used to indicate the target image parameters configured for the target image mode. The display device can configure the user-indicated target image parameters for the target image mode by establishing a relationship between the target image mode and the target image parameters.

[0121] In step S1002, in response to the fourth operation in the setting operation set, the first image mode is switched to the target image mode, and the target image mode is stored in the memory.

[0122] After configuring all target image parameters corresponding to the target image mode, the display device responds to the fourth operation by switching the first image mode to the target image mode. The fourth operation is the user's instruction to apply the target image mode.

[0123] The display device also stores the target image mode to add it as a custom image mode that can be used later. Specifically, if the event type is "reconfigure an existing custom image mode," meaning the target image mode is set by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode, a third image mode is also deleted from memory—that is, the reconfigured existing custom image mode is deleted—thus replacing the image mode before reconfiguration with the reconfigured image mode.

[0124] Therefore, after confirming the target image mode, the display device can store the target image mode to record it as a usable custom image mode. This ensures that all target image parameters corresponding to the target image mode have been configured and that the user's acceptance of the target image mode is guaranteed.

[0125] The following two embodiments will be used to specifically describe the process of setting the target image mode corresponding to steps S901-S903 and steps S1001-S1002.

[0126] Example 1

[0127] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of setting the target image mode using the method of adding image modes in the aforementioned steps S901 to S903 of the display device.

[0128] Next, referring to Figure 6, the process of setting the target image mode of the display device by adding an image mode will be explained in detail, including the following steps S1-1 to S1-4:

[0129] Step S1-1: In response to the user's selection of the first menu item, the first preview page is displayed.

[0130] In response to the user's selection of the first menu item, the display device obtains the third image mode, which refers to a custom image mode supported by the first source type.

[0131] In some embodiments, if the display device does not obtain a third image mode, it means that the target image mode cannot be set by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode; it can only be set by adding an image mode. Therefore, the display device can directly initiate the addition of the target image mode and display the first preview page.

[0132] As shown in ① of Figure 6, the display device displays a first menu, which includes a first menu item, and the first menu item is in an available state. In response to the user selecting the first menu item, if the third image mode is not obtained, as shown in ② of Figure 6, the display device directly displays the first preview page.

[0133] If the display device obtains a third image mode, it means that the target image mode can be set either by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode or by adding an image mode. Therefore, the display device can display a list of custom image modes, which includes a second menu item and an add entry for each third image mode.

[0134] The display device can respond to the user's selection of an entry point by starting the target image addition mode and displaying the first preview page.

[0135] If the display device acquires a third image mode, after ① in Figure 6 and before ② in Figure 6, as shown in ③ in Figure 6, the display device displays a list of custom image modes. This list includes second menu items corresponding to third image modes 1 through n, and an "Add" entry. In response to the user selecting the "Add" entry, as shown in ② in Figure 6, the display device displays a first preview page.

[0136] Referring to the operating system shown in Figure 3, the platform interface adaptation layer of this operating system is also configured with an enable demo middleware and an end demo middleware. The enable demo middleware is used to confirm the image mode corresponding to the preview screen, and the end demo middleware is used to record relevant data when the preview ends.

[0137] The application is configured to respond to the selection of the first menu item by obtaining the first image mode of the current application through the demonstration middleware. Based on the result returned by the demonstration middleware, the application displays the first preview page in the first image mode indicated by the result.

[0138] Step S1-2: In response to the user selecting the first button on the first preview page, the first configuration page is displayed.

[0139] If, after viewing the image quality displayed on the first preview page, the user still wishes to continue setting the target image mode, they can confirm and start setting the target image mode by clicking the first button.

[0140] As shown in Figure 6, ②, the first preview page includes a first button, such as a Start button, and a second button, such as a Cancel button. The display device responds to the user's selection of the Start button, as shown in Figure 6, ④, by displaying the first configuration page.

[0141] The settings application responds to the user selecting the first button on the first preview page, displaying the first configuration page.

[0142] Steps S1-3: In response to the user's operation of configuring target image parameters based on the first configuration page, configure target image parameters for the target image mode.

[0143] In response to a user's configuration of target image parameters, the settings application passes these parameters to the image mode middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer. The image mode middleware then generates the target image mode based on the parameters passed by the settings application.

[0144] Steps S1-4: In response to the user's instruction to apply the target image mode, the first image mode is switched to the target image mode, and the target image mode is stored in the memory.

[0145] Before steps S1-4, the display device can display a target preview page based on the generated target image mode. This target preview page is used to demonstrate the image quality effect of the target image mode. The target preview page includes an apply button, which the user can select to indicate the application of the target image mode.

[0146] After generating the target image mode, as shown in Figure 6, ⑤, a target preview page is displayed, which includes a preview screen in the target image mode. This target preview page also includes an Apply button. In response to the user selecting the Apply button, as shown in Figure 6, ⑥, the device exits the target preview page and plays the first source video in the target image mode.

[0147] In some embodiments, the image mode middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer feeds back the generation result to the settings application to notify the settings application that a target image mode has been generated. Based on the generation result, the settings application displays a target preview page and, in response to an operation instructing the application to use the target image mode, switches the first image mode to the target image mode by calling the settings parameter middleware of the platform interface adaptation layer. After switching to the target image mode, the settings parameter middleware can send a refresh notification to the display, causing the display to refresh the screen using the target image mode to play the first source video in the target image mode. Furthermore, the image mode middleware also stores the target image mode in memory, for example, by writing a first correspondence between the first source video type and the target image mode in a configuration file.

[0148] Example 2

[0149] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of setting the target image mode by using the aforementioned steps 1001 to S1003 to reconfigure an existing custom image mode.

[0150] Referring to Figure 7, the process of setting the target image mode of the display device by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode is described in detail, including the following steps S2-1 to S2-4:

[0151] Step S2-1: In response to the user selecting the first menu item, display the custom image mode list.

[0152] You can refer to step S1-1, which will not be repeated here.

[0153] As shown in Figure 7①, the display device displays a first menu, which includes a first menu item, and the first menu item is in an available state. In response to the user's selection of the first menu item, taking the display device acquiring a third image mode as an example, as shown in Figure 7②, the display device displays a list of custom image modes.

[0154] Step S2-2: In response to the user's selection of the third image mode, the second preview page is displayed.

[0155] As shown in Figure 7 ②, taking the user selecting the third image mode 1 as an example, as shown in Figure 7 ③, the second preview page is displayed, which includes the preview screen displayed under the third image mode 1.

[0156] In some embodiments, in response to a user selecting a first menu item, the application retrieves a third image mode through the image mode middleware of the platform interface adaptation layer and displays a list of custom image modes. In response to a user selecting a third image mode, the application retrieves the third image mode to be reconfigured through the demo middleware, and displays a second preview page based on the result returned by the demo middleware, indicating the third image mode.

[0157] In step S2-3, in response to the user's confirmation to initiate the sub-operation of reconfiguring the third image mode, the first preview page is displayed.

[0158] In some embodiments, the second preview page may include a third button for confirming the initiation of reconfiguring the third image mode. In some embodiments, the second preview page may also include a fourth button for canceling the initiation of reconfiguring the third image mode.

[0159] If a user still wants to reconfigure the third image mode after viewing the image quality in the second preview page, they can select the third button to confirm and start reconfiguring the third image mode.

[0160] As shown in Figure 7, ③, the second preview page includes a third button, such as a Reconfigure button, and a fourth button, such as a Cancel button. The display device responds to the user's selection of the Reconfigure button, as shown in Figure 7, ④, by displaying the first preview page.

[0161] The application is set to display the first preview page in response to the user selecting the third button on the second preview page.

[0162] Step S2-4: In response to the user selecting the first button on the first preview page, the first configuration page is displayed.

[0163] Steps S2-4 can be referred to steps S1-2, and will not be repeated here.

[0164] Referring again to Figure 7, the device responds to the fifth sub-operation, as shown in ⑤ of Figure 7, and displays the first configuration page.

[0165] Step S2-5: In response to the user's operation of configuring target image parameters based on the first configuration page, configure target image parameters for the target image mode.

[0166] Steps S2-6: In response to the user's instruction to apply the target image mode, the first image mode is switched to the target image mode, the target image mode is stored in the memory, and the third image mode is deleted from the memory.

[0167] Steps S2-5-S2-6 can be referred to steps S1-3-S1-4, and will not be repeated here. The main difference is that, in response to the user's instruction to apply the target image mode, the display device also needs to delete the previously reconfigured third image mode from the configuration file.

[0168] Referring back to Figure 7, the display device responds to the user's set of settings operations by sequentially displaying ⑥ and ⑦ in Figure 7. ⑥ and ⑦ in Figure 7 can be referenced from ⑤ and ⑥ in Figure 6, respectively, and will not be elaborated here.

[0169] The following is a detailed explanation of the process of configuring the target image parameters based on the first configuration page.

[0170] The first configuration page includes at least one configuration item, and each configuration item has at least one sub-configuration item.

[0171] Each configuration item corresponds to a preset image parameter group, and each preset image parameter group includes image parameters belonging to the same category. Different preset image parameter groups include image parameters belonging to different categories. This effectively limits the number of configuration items.

[0172] Each sub-configuration item corresponds to a preset image parameter group of its respective configuration item, and at least one image parameter in the preset image parameter group corresponding to each sub-configuration item of the same configuration item has a different value.

[0173] Figure 8 is a schematic diagram of the first configuration page provided in an embodiment of this application. As shown in Figure 8, the first configuration page includes four configuration items, such as configuration item 11, configuration item 12, configuration item 13, and configuration item 14. Among them, the preset image parameter group corresponding to configuration item 11 includes image parameters belonging to the category of "brightness"; the preset image parameter group corresponding to configuration item 12 includes image parameters belonging to the category of "color temperature"; the preset image parameter group corresponding to configuration item 13 includes image parameters belonging to the category of "color"; and the preset image parameter group corresponding to configuration item 14 includes image parameters belonging to the category of "sharpness".

[0174] Each sub-configuration item is associated with an image parameter group, where the value of each image parameter is fixed. In other words, each sub-configuration item is associated with a relatively fixed sub-image quality effect, which corresponds to the preset image parameter group associated with the sub-configuration item.

[0175] The sub-configuration item can be an image style, and the image quality of the image should be consistent with the sub-image quality of the corresponding sub-configuration item.

[0176] The first configuration page displays the sub-configuration items corresponding to the selected configuration item. As shown in Figure 8, configuration item 13 is selected. The first configuration page currently displays the sub-configuration items corresponding to configuration item 13, such as sub-configuration item 131, sub-configuration item 132, sub-configuration item 133, and sub-configuration item 134. These four sub-configuration items each correspond to a brightness-related image parameter group.

[0177] In some embodiments, if the target image mode is set by adding an image mode, the configuration items included in the first configuration page and the sub-configuration items of each configuration item correspond to the first image mode. If the target image mode is set by reconfiguring an existing custom image mode, the configuration items included in the first configuration page and the sub-configuration items of each configuration item correspond to the existing custom image mode to be reconfigured.

[0178] In response to the user selecting a target sub-configuration item from the sub-configuration items of each configuration item, the display device obtains the image parameters from the preset image parameter group corresponding to each target sub-configuration item. The obtained image parameters are the target image parameters. The display device configures the image parameters from the preset image parameter group corresponding to each target sub-configuration item for the target image mode, that is, it configures each target image parameter for the target image mode. For example, an association relationship is established between the target image mode and each target image parameter.

[0179] Referring to Figure 8, when the user selects a target sub-configuration item in configuration item 13, such as sub-configuration item 132, the target image parameters obtained by the display device include the image parameters in the preset image parameter group corresponding to sub-configuration item 132.

[0180] Therefore, by grouping image parameters belonging to the same category into a preset image parameter group, the number of preset image parameter groups can be effectively controlled. Since each preset image parameter group corresponds to one configuration item, the number of configuration items can be effectively controlled. Thus, by setting the target image mode through each configuration item, the number of configuration items that need to be set can be effectively reduced, thus reducing the number of user interactions.

[0181] The following is a detailed explanation of the process of displaying the target preview page on the display device.

[0182] In some embodiments, the process of displaying a target preview page by a display device may include the following steps S1101 to S1102: Step S1101, in response to a third operation, obtain the screen state of the first configuration page.

[0183] The first configuration page is displayed on top of the first source video. The screen states of the first configuration page include full-screen and non-full-screen states.

[0184] Step S1102: Configure target image parameters for the target image mode and display the target preview page according to the screen status.

[0185] In some embodiments, if the screen is in full-screen mode, a target preview page is displayed after configuring the target image parameters. This target preview page includes a preset demo example showcasing the image quality of the target image mode, and the media asset type of this preset demo example is consistent with the media asset type of the first source image.

[0186] Media asset types include videos and images.

[0187] In some embodiments, the settings application includes a persistent service. After displaying the first configuration page, the settings application registers a service to monitor the media playback status. For example, the monitoring service may include a Media Session Manager service, which can monitor active media sessions (i.e., sessions in playback). The monitoring service may also include an Audio Manager service, which can monitor applications that have audio focus (i.e., applications using audio). If an active media session and an application with audio focus are detected, it can be determined that there is media asset playing in the background, i.e., the first source file. If it is determined that there is media asset playing in the background, it is further determined whether the player used to play the media asset is a video player. If it is a video player, the media asset type of the first source file can be determined to be video; if it is not a video player, the media asset type of the first source file can be determined to be image.

[0188] Preset demo samples are media assets pre-installed on display devices to demonstrate image quality effects. The media asset types of preset demo samples can include videos and images.

[0189] After generating the target image pattern, a target preview page is displayed on the first screen, demonstrating the image quality effect corresponding to the target image pattern using a preset demo example. Specifically, if the media asset type is video, the preset demo example is video; if the media asset type is image, the demo example is image.

[0190] When the display device enters the first configuration page in full-screen mode, it cannot simultaneously display the first video source. Therefore, the display device pauses playback of the first video source upon entering the full-screen configuration page to avoid the user accidentally playing the wrong media content during the target image mode setting process. Correspondingly, the display device resumes playback of the first video source after exiting the target image mode setting process.

[0191] In some embodiments, if the screen is not in full-screen mode, during the process of configuring target image parameters for the target image mode, the target preview page is updated after each target image parameter is configured. This target preview page includes footage of the first source video played using each configured target image parameter.

[0192] In some embodiments, the first configuration page is displayed on the first screen in the form of a half-screen or a small window. That is, while setting the target image mode, the user can simultaneously watch the video source being played.

[0193] The display device can directly use the first source image as a demonstration example. After configuring each target image parameter, it displays the first source image according to that target image parameter and all previously configured target image parameters. In other words, the first source image is directly used as the target preview page. This can be understood as a real-time preview page.

[0194] After configuring all target image parameters, the image quality of the target image mode can be displayed in real time on the target preview page using the first source image.

[0195] In some embodiments, after detecting the display of the first preview page, the display device records the first image mode as the original image mode, which refers to the image mode used before the target image mode was applied, that is, the image mode currently used.

[0196] After the application displays the first preview page, it calls the image mode middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer to record the first image mode as the original image mode.

[0197] In some embodiments, the display device may provide an image mode comparison function by setting the application, so that users can quickly compare the image quality effect in the current image mode and the image quality effect in the target image mode before applying the target image mode, and help users determine whether to apply the target image mode.

[0198] In some embodiments, the display device may display a preview screen for showcasing the image quality effect of the original image mode through the following steps S1201-S1202:

[0199] Step S1201: In response to the comparison command input by the user, the recorded original image pattern is obtained.

[0200] The original image mode is the one recorded when the first preview page is displayed. This original image mode is the image mode corresponding to the image quality effect displayed in the first preview page.

[0201] In some embodiments, the target preset page may include a fifth button, which the user can select to input a comparison command. Refer to the target preview page shown in Figure 6 (⑤) and Figure 7 (⑥), which includes a fifth button, such as a Compare button.

[0202] The display device responds to the comparison command by obtaining the recorded original image mode, which is the image mode that needs to be compared with the target image mode. The application responds to the comparison command by calling the image mode middleware in the platform interface adaptation layer to obtain the recorded original image mode, such as the first image mode.

[0203] Step S1202: Display a preview screen on the target preview page to show the image quality effect of the original image mode.

[0204] The display device adjusts the system's image parameters according to the image parameters corresponding to the first image mode, and adjusts the target image mode to the first image mode to display the preview screen in the first image mode. In this way, users can switch between browsing the preview screen in the first image mode and the preview screen in the target image mode on the target preview page to compare the image quality effects of the two image modes.

[0205] Before displaying the preview screen in the first image mode on the target preview page, the display device sets the target image mode to be applied. If the user wants to view the image quality effect in the target image mode again on the target preview page, or if the user wants to apply the target image mode, the display device can obtain the recorded image mode to be applied and display the preview screen in the target image mode on the target preview page, or exit the target preview page and switch the first image mode to the target image mode.

[0206] In some embodiments, the display device may display a waiting page in response to an application command input by the user. This waiting page may include a preset animation indicating that a target image mode is currently being switched. After detecting a switch to the target image mode, the display device exits the waiting page and plays the first video source in the target image mode.

[0207] If the target preview page is not in full-screen mode, when applying the target image mode, there is no need to adjust the system's image parameters again, and there is no need to display a waiting page; it is only necessary to save the target image mode.

[0208] In some embodiments, the settings application also provides an editing function for each second menu item in the custom image mode list, based on which the custom image mode corresponding to each second menu item can be edited.

[0209] The specific process for editing custom image modes on a display device is as follows:

[0210] When displaying a list of custom image modes, the display device, in response to a user's control command based on a second menu item, adjusts the second menu item to an editable state. For example, the display device may adjust the second menu item to an editable state in response to a user's control command input by long-pressing it.

[0211] The second menu item being editable means that the second menu item can be edited, and its corresponding custom image mode can be further edited. For example, the editable second menu item includes at least one editing control. This at least one editing control may include an editable text box, a delete control, etc., wherein the editable text box includes the name of the custom image mode corresponding to the second menu item, and is used to edit that name; the delete control is used to indicate the deletion of the second menu item.

[0212] The display device responds to the user's editing command based on the editable second menu item, and edits the second menu item and the user-defined image mode corresponding to the second menu item.

[0213] In some embodiments, the display device may, in response to an editing instruction entered by a user in an editable text box, modify a first name in the text box to a second name, wherein the first name is the currently used name of the custom image mode corresponding to the second menu item, and the second name is the modified name. After modifying the first name in the text box to the second name, the display device updates the list of custom image modes to update the name in the second menu item to the second name. Furthermore, the display device also modifies the name of the custom image mode in the configuration file to the second name.

[0214] In some embodiments, the display device may, in response to an edit command input by a user based on a delete control, remove the second menu item from the list of custom image modes. The display device then updates the list of custom image modes, and the updated list does not include the second menu item. Furthermore, the display device also removes the custom image mode corresponding to the second menu item from the configuration file. Thus, the display device can provide editing functionality for user-defined image modes, allowing users to flexibly edit custom image modes according to their needs.

[0215] Furthermore, considering that users often need to set multiple menu items located on different menu pages when browsing the menu to find the menu items they need to set, setting menu items is time-consuming and laborious when there are many menu items to set, resulting in low menu setting efficiency.

[0216] To adapt to more application scenarios, the display device of this application embodiment can also perform menu settings through the following steps S1301 to S1303. It should be noted that the menu setting process can be applied to the display of menu items involved in the above image mode setting process, or it can be used independently for other setting scenarios. This application does not limit this.

[0217] Step S1301: In response to the menu display event, display the menu page, which contains menu items.

[0218] A menu page can contain one or more menu items, with "multiple" meaning at least two. The menu display event is the event that triggers the display of the menu page.

[0219] Step S1302: When a trigger operation is detected for the menu item, the associated menu item is searched, and it is determined whether there is a mapping relationship between the current first state of the menu item and the current second state of the associated menu item for switching menu states; the mapping relationship is a pre-established relationship between the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item.

[0220] In step S1303, if a mapping relationship exists, a prompt instruction is generated to display a prompt message and a switching control on the menu page, prompting the user to switch the state of the associated menu item through the switching control.

[0221] The triggering operation for a menu item can be any of the following: moving focus to the menu item, editing the menu item (e.g., toggling menu item options), or clicking the menu item. The first state refers to the current state of the menu item, and the second state refers to the current state of the associated menu item. The state of a menu item includes at least one of the following: editable / grayed-out state, on / off state, and the currently selected option.

[0222] In some embodiments, the display device may pre-store the correspondence between menu items and associated menu items, thereby enabling the lookup of associated menu items based on the menu item. The associated menu item may be a menu item that affects the editable / grayed-out state of the menu item, a menu item that is complementary in function or performance, or another menu item that is compatible with the menu item.

[0223] In some embodiments, menu items are non-editable, i.e., grayed-out menu items. Associated menu items are those that cause the menu item to be grayed out. Prompt information describes the reason for graying out or how to ungrasp it. Prompt information allows users to understand the reason for graying out or how to ungrasp it, helping to improve human-computer interaction efficiency, speed up menu setup, and save display device resources consumed by menu setup. For example, in Figure 9, menu item 602 is the "auto sound mode" menu item. When the "audio output" menu item is set to an option other than TV speaker, menu item 602 is grayed out. Therefore, when the focus is on or moves to menu item 602, prompt information 604 and a toggle control 606 are displayed. According to prompt information 604, "Available when audio output is selected as TV speaker," it is known that the automatic sound mode is currently unavailable because the audio output is not selected as a TV speaker. Therefore, by selecting the TV speaker as the audio output, menu item 602 can be ungrabbed.

[0224] For example, in Figure 10, when the "intelligent sound" menu item is set to the off state, the "auto sound mode" menu item is grayed out. Therefore, when the focus is on or moves to menu item 608, the prompt information 610 and the switching control 612 corresponding to menu item 608 are displayed. According to the prompt information 610 "available when intelligent sound mode is not enabled", it can be seen that the "auto sound mode" menu item is grayed out because "intelligent sound" is not enabled. Therefore, by enabling "intelligent sound", menu item 608 can be restored to the editable state.

[0225] For example, in Figure 11, when the source material is a normal source material (not a high refresh rate source material, not a Dolby source material), if the "Intelligent Scene" menu item is enabled, the "Sharpness" menu item 614 is grayed out. When the focus is on or moves to the "Sharpness" menu item 614, a prompt message 616 and a toggle control 618 are displayed. According to the prompt message 618, which asks you to turn off "Intelligent Scene" first, it can be seen that the "Sharpness" menu item 614 is grayed out because "Intelligent Scene" is enabled. Therefore, by turning off the "Intelligent Scene" menu item, the "Sharpness" menu item can be restored to an editable state.

[0226] When a trigger operation is detected on the switching control, the associated menu item can be configured to make menu item 602 editable. For example, when a trigger operation is detected on the switching control 606, the "audio output" menu item can be set to TV speaker; and when a trigger operation is detected on the switching control 612, the "intelligent sound" menu item can be enabled. This allows for quick setting of menu items through the switching control.

[0227] In some embodiments, the menu item is an editable menu item. Upon detecting an edit operation on the menu item, the updated state obtained by the edit operation is determined. Based on the updated state, the associated menu item is found. The associated menu item is a menu item whose provided functionality is compatible with the updated state of the menu item. A prompt message is used to guide the configuration of the associated menu item. If the menu item is a switch, its state is either on or off. The edit operation changes the menu item from on to off, or from off to on. If the menu item is an option, the edit operation can be an option selection operation, used to switch the selected option of the menu item. For option-type menu items, in response to a trigger operation on the menu item, a settings page for the menu item is displayed, showing the candidate options for the menu item. The edit operation can be selecting one of the displayed options.

[0228] Taking the option-based menu item as an example, as shown in Figure 12, the settings page of the "audio output" menu item is displayed. The settings page displays multiple options, among which the "HDMI (ARC)" function is compatible with the "eARC" function. The display device has pre-recorded the mapping relationship between the state of the "audio output" menu item when the "HDMI (ARC)" option is selected and the state of the "eARC" menu item when it is off. When the "HDMI (ARC)" option is not selected, if the operation of selecting the "HDMI (ARC)" option is detected, the state of the "eARC" menu item is obtained. If the "eARC" menu item is off, the prompt message 704 and the toggle control 706 are displayed to remind the user to turn on the eARC switch for a better experience.

[0229] If no associated menu item is found based on the update status, the system searches for a target menu item supported by the previous menu item but not by the updated menu item, based on the previous and updated status of the menu item. The target menu item is then disabled (e.g., turned off), and a failure message indicating the target menu item's functionality is ineffective is displayed. In some embodiments, if there are uneditable menu items (grayed-out menu items) on the menu page, the display device can display a corresponding prompt message based on the reason for the grayed-out menu item. Specifically, the display device can record the graying conditions of menu items, and when a menu item is grayed out, a graying-out prompt message is displayed according to the current scenario.

[0230] In some embodiments, the menu item is in the form of a switch, and the triggering operation for the menu item is not a closing operation; a closing operation refers to the operation of setting the menu item to a closed state. When a closing operation for a menu item is detected, the affected menu item is searched, and it is determined whether there is a correspondence between the current state of the affected menu item and the closed state of the affected menu item for generating warning information. If a correspondence exists, the corresponding warning information is obtained based on the closed state of the menu item and the current state of the affected menu item, and the warning information is displayed. This closing warning information is used to warn of the impact of closing the menu item on the functions related to the affected menu item.

[0231] In this embodiment, in response to a menu display event, the display is controlled to show a menu page containing menu items. Upon detecting a trigger operation on a menu item, the associated menu item is searched, and it is determined whether a mapping relationship exists between the current first state of the menu item and the current second state of the associated menu item for switching menu states. If a mapping relationship exists, a prompt instruction is generated, causing a prompt message and a switching control to be displayed on the menu page, prompting the user to switch the state of the associated menu item using the switching control. The mapping relationship is a pre-established relationship between the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item. Thus, by combining the mapping relationship, the prompt instruction, the prompt message, and the switching control, a method for switching the state of associated menu items is formed, providing a quick way to switch the state of associated menu items and improving menu setup efficiency.

[0232] In some embodiments, when executing a prompt generation instruction to display a prompt message and a toggle control on a menu page, the instruction is configured to: generate a prompt instruction to display a prompt panel above the menu page, and display a prompt message and a toggle control in the prompt panel.

[0233] In some embodiments, the prompt panel may be displayed as a pop-up or floating window. That is, the prompt panel is displayed while the menu page is still displayed.

[0234] In this embodiment, by displaying a prompt panel on the top layer of the menu page, and displaying prompt messages and switching controls in the prompt panel, prompt messages and switching controls can be displayed without affecting the menu page itself. Furthermore, when the associated menu item does not belong to the currently displayed menu page, it is not necessary to switch to the menu page to which the associated menu item belongs and then switch the state of the associated menu item, thereby improving the efficiency of interaction and thus improving the efficiency of setting the menu.

[0235] In this embodiment, in response to a trigger operation on the switching control, the associated menu item in the second state, the associated menu item in the third state, and the effective control are displayed in the switching panel, wherein there is a preset association relationship between the first state of the menu item and the third state of the associated menu item; in response to a trigger operation on the effective control, a switching instruction is generated to set the associated menu item to the third state.

[0236] As shown in Figure 13, when the "HDMI (ARC)" option 1002 is not selected, if the operation of selecting the "HDMI (ARC)" option 1002 is detected, the state of the "eARC" menu item is obtained. If the "eARC" menu item is in the off state, the switching panel 1004 is displayed, and prompt information and switching controls are displayed in the switching panel 1004. If a trigger operation on the switching control is detected, the switching panel 1006 is displayed, and the associated menu item 1008 of the second state, the associated menu item 1010 of the third state, and the effective control 1012 are displayed in the switching panel 1006.

[0237] In this embodiment of the application, by displaying the associated menu items in the second state, the associated menu items in the third state, and the effective control, the setting of associated menu items can be made more intuitive and convenient, thereby improving the setting efficiency.

[0238] In some embodiments, when a trigger operation is performed in response to a switching control to display the associated menu item of the second state, the associated menu item of the third state, and the effective control in the switching panel, the trigger operation on the switching control may be performed in response to a preset condition, and if the preset condition is not met, the associated menu item of the second state, the associated menu item of the third state, and the effective control may be displayed in the switching panel, wherein the preset condition is that there is an associated menu item and the associated menu item belongs to a menu page.

[0239] In some embodiments, in response to a trigger operation on the toggle control, if a preset condition is met, the focus is moved from the menu item to the associated menu item, allowing the user to switch the state of the associated menu item. Where multiple associated menu items exist, a prompt message can describe the relationship between each associated menu item and the current menu item, and the toggle control is used to trigger the display of the toggle panel.

[0240] As shown in Figure 14, the "AI Contrast" menu item 1102 is grayed out. When the focus moves to menu item 1102, it is determined that there is a mapping relationship between the grayed-out state of menu item 1102 and the on state of the associated menu item, "HDR Enhancement" menu item 1108. A prompt panel 1104 is displayed. If there is only one associated menu item, "HDR Enhancement" menu item 1108, and both menu item 1102 and "HDR Enhancement" menu item 1108 belong to the currently displayed menu page, then when a trigger operation on the switching control 1106 is detected, the focus is moved from menu item 1102 to "HDR Enhancement" menu item 1108 to facilitate turning off "HDR Enhancement". Here, AI (Artificial Intelligence) refers to artificial intelligence. HDR (High Dynamic Range) refers to high dynamic range.

[0241] In this embodiment, if the preset conditions are met, the focus is moved from the menu item to the associated menu item, so that the user can switch the state of the associated menu item. This allows the user to quickly locate the menu item to be set from the current menu page without having to search for it manually, thus improving the interaction efficiency.

[0242] In some embodiments, an execution is performed to find the associated menu item of the menu item and determine whether there is a mapping relationship between the current first state of the menu item and the current second state of the associated menu item for switching menu states. If a mapping relationship exists, when generating a prompt instruction, it is configured to: when the menu item is grayed out, find the associated menu item of the menu item, wherein the associated menu item causes the menu item to be grayed out in at least one state; based on the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item, search for the mapping relationship between the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item from the mapping relationship table; if found, generate a prompt instruction; wherein, if there is a mapping relationship between the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item in the mapping relationship table, it indicates that the second state of the associated menu item is the reason why the menu item is grayed out.

[0243] In some embodiments, the display device stores prompt information and switching controls corresponding to each mapping relationship in a mapping relationship table. The prompt information and switching controls can be found according to the mapping relationship and displayed.

[0244] In some embodiments, when a menu item is grayed out, if a triggering operation is detected for the menu item (e.g., clicking or moving focus to the menu item), the reason for graying out the menu item is found. If the reason for graying out the menu item is due to another menu item, then that other menu item is identified as the associated menu item of the menu item.

[0245] In some embodiments, if the graying is due to source mismatch, a graying prompt message is displayed based on the source. In this embodiment, a mapping table is used to store the mapping relationship, which can quickly determine whether a mapping relationship exists, improving the efficiency of determining the mapping relationship. Furthermore, the associated menu item can be determined based on whether the menu item is grayed out, making the associated menu item more suitable for the menu item's state.

[0246] In some embodiments, the process involves searching for the associated menu item of the menu item and determining whether there is a mapping relationship between the current first state of the menu item and the current second state of the associated menu item for switching menu states. If a mapping relationship exists, the prompt instruction is configured to: when the menu item is not grayed out, search for the associated menu item based on the current first state of the menu item, where the first state of the menu item is compatible with the functions provided by the associated menu item; based on the first state of the menu item and the current second state of the associated menu item, search for the mapping relationship between the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item in the mapping relationship table; if found, generate a prompt instruction; if a mapping relationship exists between the first state of the menu item and the second state of the associated menu item in the mapping relationship table, it indicates that the functions of the associated menu item that are compatible with the first state of the menu item are not enabled.

[0247] In this embodiment, a mapping table is used to store the mapping relationship, which can quickly determine whether a mapping relationship exists, improve the efficiency of determining the mapping relationship, and determine the associated menu item to be searched based on whether the menu item is grayed out, so that the associated menu item to be searched is more suitable for the state of the menu item.

[0248] In some embodiments, when performing the operation of finding the associated menu item when a trigger operation is detected for the menu item, the process is configured as follows: when a trigger operation is detected for the menu item, determine the target state corresponding to the menu item under the current video source; if the target state corresponding to the menu item is inconsistent with the current first state of the menu item, control the display to display the setting prompt information corresponding to the menu item, the setting prompt information being used to prompt the menu item to be set to the target state; if the menu item has been set to the target state, find the associated menu item of the menu item.

[0249] The target state of a menu item under the current video source can be understood as the preset optimal state of the menu item under the current video source. If the target state of a menu item is inconsistent with the first state of the menu item, the current state of the menu item may produce poor results under the current video source. Therefore, if the menu item has already been set to the target state, finding the associated menu item can avoid further inappropriate settings by continuing to set associated menu items when the menu item is already set inappropriately.

[0250] In some embodiments, when executing the command to control the display to show a menu page in response to a menu display event, the process is configured to: play the media object and trigger a menu display event in response to a playback operation on the media object; determine the source to which the media object belongs in response to the menu display event, and determine key menu items based on the source to which the media object belongs; control the display to show the menu page, and display the key menu items on the menu page. The menu display event can be triggered by a playback operation on the media object. The media object can be any video or image, and can be, but is not limited to, media assets or streaming media.

[0251] In some embodiments, the display device can record menu items set by the user for different video sources over a historical period. For each video source, the menu items set by the user are designated as key menu items, and there can be multiple key menu items. The display device can play media objects and display each key menu item on the menu page.

[0252] In this embodiment, key menu items are determined based on the source of the media object and displayed on the menu page. This enables a dynamic menu page and allows frequently set menu items to be displayed automatically, eliminating the need for users to manually browse each menu page and improving the efficiency of menu settings.

[0253] In some embodiments, when determining key menu items based on the source to which the media object belongs, the process is configured to: determine a first key menu item and / or a second key menu item based on the source to which the media object belongs; wherein the functions provided by the first and second key menu items match the source, the first key menu item is grayed out, the preset state of the second key menu item corresponds to the source, and the current state of the second key menu item is inconsistent with the preset state of the second key menu item. Matching a key menu item with a source means that the source is suitable for the functions provided by that key menu item. The preset state of the second key menu item is a state set for the source, which can be understood as an optimal state. The second key menu item is editable. Since the first key menu item is grayed out and matches the source, displaying the first key menu item facilitates restoring it to an editable state to improve playback. Since the current state of the second key menu item is inconsistent with its preset state, displaying the second key menu item facilitates setting it to its preset state to improve playback.
