[0002] Anti-glare device

[0003] Object of the invention

[0004] The object of the present invention, as its title indicates, is an anti-glare device. This innovation offers advantages previously unknown within current technology.

[0005] The present invention is characterized by the special functional and constructive characteristics of the elements that form part of the device, so that they all contribute to achieving an anti-glare device on the road that improves road safety, especially during night driving or in low visibility conditions.

[0006] Technology sector

[0007] Therefore, the present invention falls within the scope of road safety.

[0008] Background of the invention.

[0009] The exponential growth of the global vehicle fleet and the constant improvement of road infrastructure have made land transport more efficient and accessible. However, this progress has also brought significant challenges in terms of road safety. One of the most recurring and dangerous problems on the roads is glare caused by the headlights of other vehicles, a factor that contributes to a large number of accidents each year. In this context, anti-glare devices are presented as a key technological solution to improve visibility and protect drivers.

[0010] Glare, defined as a reduction in visual acuity due to intense light, can be caused by various sources, with high beams being one of the main culprits on the road. This phenomenon is especially dangerous at night or in low-visibility conditions, as it interferes with the driver's perception of their surroundings and reaction time. Glare is a contributing factor in a significant percentage of nighttime accidents. Drivers affected by bright lights may experience temporary blindness, eye strain, and difficulty identifying obstacles, increasing the risk of head-on collisions or running off the road.

[0011] With reference to the current state of the art, it should be noted that, although various designs of anti-glare devices are known, the existence of any other that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal or similar to those presented by the intervention claimed herein is unknown.

[0012] Explanation of the invention

[0013] The invention relates to an anti-glare device that offers a practical and effective solution for drivers and passengers. This innovative device combines a functional design with advanced materials to ensure a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

[0014] Specifically, the invention proposes, as previously mentioned, an anti-glare device that attaches to glasses and comprises two main components: a side visor and a central visor, both designed to integrate easily and efficiently with the user's glasses, whether corrective or standard (if prescription glasses are not required). These elements work together to reduce the impact of bright lights from different directions without compromising visual clarity or the driver's comfort.

[0015] The side visor is made of a transparent, anti-glare sheet. This advanced material filters out excessive light, providing a clear view of the surroundings without interference. A key feature of this visor is its adaptable design, which includes at least two strategically placed holes for inserting the temples of standard glasses.

[0016] Thanks to this design, the side visor attaches securely to the sides of the glasses without the need for adhesives or other additional accessories. This approach not only simplifies the installation process but also ensures compatibility with a wide range of glasses models available on the market. Furthermore, its lightweight design avoids adding unnecessary weight to the glasses, guaranteeing a comfortable experience for the user.

[0017] The second component of the device is the central visor, which incorporates a flexible support made of a rubbery, adaptable material. This support is designed to fit comfortably over the bridge of the user's glasses, ensuring a stable and secure fit. An integrated slot in the support allows the bridge of the glasses to pass through it, facilitating installation without additional tools.

[0018] From the support, a transparent, anti-glare sheet projects forward, offering protection from intense light. This element not only reduces direct glare but also minimizes reflections that can cause visual distractions during night driving. Thanks to its ergonomic and functional design, the central visor significantly contributes to improving the driver's visual experience.

[0019] A particularly interesting aspect of this device is its customization options, tailored to the user's needs or specific road conditions. The slats that make up both the side and central visors can be manufactured with additional properties to optimize their performance. For example, strategic colors can be incorporated into the slats to further enhance their glare reduction capabilities.

[0020] The addition of colors serves not only an aesthetic purpose but can also enhance the device's functionality. By selecting specific colors, certain wavelengths of light can be absorbed or reflected, reducing the impact of particularly intense or bothersome lights. This is especially useful on roads with variable lighting or in situations where the lights of other vehicles pose a constant challenge to visibility.

[0021] The primary purpose of this device is to provide effective lateral coverage against direct light and glare from the sides of the field of vision. This feature is especially useful in situations such as driving at dawn or dusk, when the sun is low on the horizon and can cause dangerous glare. It is also beneficial for reducing glare from artificial lights, such as the headlights of other vehicles, during nighttime driving.

[0022] Another notable advantage of this device is its compact and lightweight design, which ensures user comfort during extended periods. Made with ergonomic and durable materials, the side visor adds no significant weight to the glasses and causes no discomfort.

[0023] Furthermore, its discreet design ensures that it does not interfere with the aesthetics of the glasses or the user's personal style.

[0024] In terms of practical applications, this anti-glare device is not only useful for drivers, but also for cyclists, motorcyclists, and anyone who needs protection from side glare while engaging in outdoor activities. Its versatility makes it an indispensable tool for improving safety and visual comfort in a variety of situations.

[0025] Unless otherwise stated, all technical and scientific terms used in this specification have the meaning that is commonly understood by a person skilled in the art to which this invention belongs. Similar or equivalent procedures and materials to those described in this specification may be used.

[0026] Brief description of the drawings

[0027] To complete the description being made and in order to help in the better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by figures in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented.

[0028] Figure 1 is a perspective representation of the anti-glare device on a pair of glasses (8).

[0029] Figure 2 is a side view of the side visor (1) on a pair of glasses (8).

[0030] Figure 3 is a side view of the central visor (4) on a pair of glasses (8).
