Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] Aerial referee system for signaling at sporting events
[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The invention, as the title of this descriptive document states, is an aerial refereeing system for signaling at sporting events. It is an innovation that offers advantages previously unknown within current techniques.
[0005] TECHNICAL SECTOR
[0006] The present invention falls within the field of physics in the subclass of metrology and testing, especially in the measurement of length, thickness or similar linear dimensions, measurement of angles, measurement of areas and measurement of surface irregularities or contours, specifically in the classification that corresponds to measuring arrangements characterized by the use of optical means.
[0007] Similarly, it falls within the sector of current life needs in the subclass of sports, games and recreation, especially in material for physical education, gymnastics, swimming, climbing or fencing, ball games and training equipment, specifically in the section of accessories for games or sports not included in the groups, as well as in indicator devices or for indicating the score, for games or players.
[0008] STATE OF THE ART
[0009] The present invention arises from observing that the traditional method used by referees to mark the regulatory distance of the wall in free kicks presents several limitations.
[0010] Currently, an evanescent spray is used to mark the field, which can lead to inaccuracies in player positioning and affect the flow of the game.
[0011] Furthermore, in adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain or snow, the foam quickly dilutes, losing its effectiveness and hindering accurate marking. Moreover, in a context where refereeing has incorporated advanced technologies like VAR and goal-line technology, the use of spray is an outdated method and ill-suited to the modernization of football.
[0012] Consequently, this invention provides an aerial refereeing system for signaling in sporting events that allows precise marking of the point where the ball and the wall of players should be placed by means of an automated system, optimizing accuracy and adapting to the conditions of the game.
[0013] Currently, there is no known existence of any aerial refereeing system for signaling in sporting events that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal or similar to those described in this descriptive report, as claimed.
[0014] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] The object of the present invention is the creation of an aerial refereeing system for signaling in sporting events that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characteristic details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.
[0016] The present invention relates to an aerial refereeing system for signaling in sporting events, comprising an aerial unit equipped with a laser projection module, a wireless activation device, and a navigation and positioning system. Upon receiving a signal from the wireless activation device, the aerial unit automatically moves to the referee's position, several meters above the ground, and is configured to project a first beam of light onto the exact point where the ball should be placed in soccer or other disciplines requiring distance signaling, as well as a second beam of light indicating the location of the wall of players according to the established regulatory distance. The second beam of light can be circular or cover an arc in the direction indicated by the referee, either the main referee or one of the assistant referees (using a remote control or a camera and image recognition system).
[0017] This invention optimizes the accuracy and efficiency of free-kick signaling in sporting events, eliminating the need for manual methods that can lead to errors in ball and wall placement. By operating automatically, it guarantees precise and consistent marking, even in adverse weather conditions, preventing external factors from affecting its visibility or durability.
[0018] Its implementation improves the dynamics of the game by reducing unnecessary interruptions and reinforcing fairness in the application of the rules. Furthermore, it integrates seamlessly with current refereeing technologies, modernizing the process and offering a more efficient and professional experience for both players and spectators.
[0019] In this innovation, the aerial unit can consist of an autonomous drone or an aerial camera system for the stadium, its movement controlled by high-precision cables. In both cases, control is achieved through a wireless activation device, allowing for efficient and precise operation during the sporting event.
[0020] On the other hand, the laser projection module includes laser pointers configured to simultaneously project a first vertical beam that marks the exact location of the ball and a second oblique beam that indicates the position of the wall of players at the regulation distance. This functionality ensures clear and uniform signaling, facilitating compliance with the rules of the game.
[0021] Furthermore, the wireless activation device can be designed as a referee-operated remote, incorporating an activation button within its control interface. This arrangement allows for quick and easy activation of the aerial unit, ensuring that the signal is given at the appropriate time without interrupting the flow of the game.
[0022] The navigation and positioning system may include at least one high-resolution camera to accurately orient the laser beam relative to the position of the barrier on the field. It can be triggered by a signal from the referee using the remote control or by recognizing the referee's gesture and the goal as a reference point. This recognition can be automatic or performed by an operator.
[0023] To do this, the operator will view, in real time, the image emitted by the camera to correctly orient the laser beam relative to the point where the foul occurred on the field. Finally, the laser projection module can be adapted to project advertising logos onto the field when play is stopped. This additional feature allows the system to be used for commercial purposes, offering an innovative alternative for brand exposure without interfering with the game.
[0024] To use the aerial referee system for signaling at sporting events, the referee must activate the wireless activation device, allowing the aerial unit to automatically move to the required position. Through the laser projection module, the system will visually mark the location of the ball and the wall of players, ensuring accurate and rapid signaling.
[0025] Additionally, if enabled, the logo projection feature will allow advertising content to be displayed without interfering with gameplay.
[0026] EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES
[0027] To complete the description being made and in order to help in the better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by a figure in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented.
[0028] Figure 1 shows the aerial referee system for signaling at sporting events.
[0029] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION.
[0030] The aerial referee system for signaling in sporting events, in football or other sports requiring distance signaling, comprises an aerial unit (1) equipped with a laser projection module (2), a wireless activation device (3), and a navigation and positioning system (4). Upon receiving a signal from the wireless activation device (3), the aerial unit (1) automatically moves to the referee's position and projects a first beam of light onto the exact point where the ball should be placed, and a second beam of light indicating the location of the wall of players at the corresponding regulation distance.
[0031] In a preferred embodiment, the aerial unit (1) consists of an autonomous flying drone or an aerial stadium camera system, which is moved by means of cables. In both cases, control is carried out via the wireless activation device (3), allowing precise adjustment of the system's position for correct signaling on the playing field.
[0032] Preferably, the laser projection module (2) includes laser pointers configured to simultaneously project a first vertical beam of light marking the location of the ball and a second oblique beam indicating the position of the wall of players at the regulation distance. This configuration ensures that the signaling elements are clearly visible to the players and referees.
[0033] Typically, the wireless activation device (3) is a remote operated by the referee, which includes an activation button within the control interface of the wireless activation device (3) itself. This mechanism allows the referee to efficiently activate and manage the operation of the aerial unit (1) in real time.
[0034] The navigation and positioning system (4) preferably comprises at least one camera and image sensors, both configured to determine the location of the wireless trigger device (3).
[0035] The laser projection module (2) is typically designed to project advertising logos onto the playing field. This additional functionality allows for the integration of promotional visuals without interfering with the proper signaling of the sports equipment.
[0036] Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to make its explanation more extensive so that any expert in the field may understand its scope and the advantages that derive from it, it being noted that, within its essentiality, it may be put into practice in other modes of embodiment that differ in detail from the one indicated as an example, and which will also achieve the protection sought provided that its fundamental principle is not altered, changed or modified.
