Abstract

The invention relates to a device for biomechanical modulation of cranio-mandibular alignment. The device comprises two bite plates configured for placement on the upper dental arch. The bite plates have a thickness of 0.7 mm to 3.5 mm and may include side vertical plates connected by a flexible bridge. The bite surfaces are inclined at approximately 70° to 80°. When positioned on the upper dental arch, the device induces posterior vertical separation of the dental arches during occlusion and modifies mandibular spatial orientation.

Description

[0001] TITLE OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Device for the Treatment of Cerebral Circulation

[0003] TECHNICAL FIELD

[0004] The invention relates to medical and dental devices and more specifically to devices used for biomechanical modulation of cranioBmandibular alignment and occlusal load distribution.

[0005] BACKGROUND

[0006] Disorders associated with cranioBcervical alignment and occlusal imbalance may influence cerebral circulation and neuromuscular function. Existing oral devices are often not designed to induce controlled posterior occlusal separation and mandibular repositioning.

[0007] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The present invention provides a dental device configured to induce posterior vertical separation of the dental arches and modify mandibular spatial orientation during occlusion.

[0009] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0010] Figure 1 illustrates a side view of the device.

[0011] Figure 2 illustrates a front view of the device.

[0012] Figure 3 illustrates a top view of the device.

[0013] DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0014] The device comprises two bite plates positioned on the upper dental arch.

[0015] The plates have a thickness from 0.7 mm to 3.5 mm.

[0016] Side vertical plates are connected at the top edge by a flexible bridge.

[0017] The bite surfaces have an inclination of approximately 70° to 80°.

[0018] Plates of width about 10 mm ±2 mm and length from 25 mm to 35 mm may be used.

[0019] Plates with a height from 10 mm to 25 mm may be positioned adjacent to the bite surfaces.

[0020] For therapeutic effect, plates of different thickness and inclination may be used for the right and left sides.

[0021] The device is configured for placement on the upper jaw.

[0022] The user may shorten the bite plates if necessary to improve comfort.

Claims

CLAIMS1. A cranioBmandibular biomechanical modulation device comprising:a pair of bite plates configured to be positioned on an upper dental arch, wherein the bite plates induce posterior vertical separation of dental arches during occlusion and modify mandibular spatial orientation.

2. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the bite plates have a thickness from 0.7 mm to 3.5 mm.

3. The device according to claim 1 , wherein side vertical plates are connected by a flexible bridge.

4. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the inclination of the bite surface is between 70° and 80°.

5. Use of the device according to claim 1 for inducing posterior vertical separation of dental arches and modifying cranioBcervical biomechanical alignment.
