Generating a decision value for the benefit of at least one milking-related decision in a robotic milking device

Abstract

In the context of a robotic milking system (1) comprising a robotic milking device (10) with, inter alia, a stimulation system (18) for stimulating the teats (42) of the dairy animals (40), a method for controlling the robotic milking system is provided. Teat base measurements are performed for each of the dairy animals using a teat position-determining system (14) of the robotic milking device (10). For each teat base measurement, distance information which is representative of a distance between the respective teat base (43) of two teats (42) of the dairy animal is then determined and presented to a memory (21) of a data-processing digital system (20) to be recorded. In addition, at least one decision value is determined using the digital system in a data-processing action in distance information recorded in the memory, and at least one milking-related decision is generated in the robotic milking device with regard to at least one of the dairy animals from the group of dairy animals on the basis of the decision value.
