Description

Absorbent article for pets and method for manufacturing absorbent article for pets

[0001] The present invention relates to an absorbent article for pets and a method for manufacturing an absorbent article for pets.

[0002] In recent years, disposable diapers for pets such as dogs and cats have been widely used. As such a pet diaper, for example, a so-called band-type diaper that has a rectangular shape and is worn by being wrapped around the torso of a pet is known (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2). Band-type diapers can be worn by simply wrapping them around the pet's torso, so they are easy to put on and convenient to use.

[0003] Japanese Patent No. 5924869 Japanese Patent No. 5917860

[0004] However, since band-type diapers have a structure that allows them to be worn simply by wrapping around the pet's torso, they have the problem of being prone to displacement. Specifically, rotation around the pet's torso may cause the absorbent body originally positioned on the ventral side to move to the dorsal side, or the product may shift toward the head or rump, resulting in exposure of the perineum.

[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the problems of the conventional techniques described above, and an object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article for pets and a method for manufacturing the same, which can be easily put on and is less prone to displacement.

[0006] In order to achieve the above object, the absorbent article for pets of the present invention comprises: a rectangular base substrate having a longitudinal direction; and an absorbent body disposed at an intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction of the base substrate, wherein the absorbent article is worn by being wrapped around the torso of a pet with the longitudinal direction as the wrapping direction, and the base substrate is provided side by side in the longitudinal direction so as to sandwich the absorbent body, and has two leg insertion portions through which the legs of a pet are inserted.

[0007] In the present invention configured as described above, the absorbent article can be easily worn simply by wrapping it around the pet's torso with the longitudinal direction of the base substrate as the wrapping direction, and is less prone to displacement by inserting the pet's legs through the leg insertion portions.

[0008] Furthermore, the leg insertion portion may be configured as a hole that penetrates both the front and back surfaces of the base material.

[0009] In this configuration, the leg insertion area being a hole makes it even less likely to slip while the pet is wearing it.

[0010] Furthermore, the leg insertion portion may be a cut-out portion formed from a first side edge of the base material along the longitudinal direction.

[0011] In this configuration, it becomes easier to insert the pet's legs through the leg insertion section.

[0012] Furthermore, the base material may be configured such that adjacent regions along the first side edge can be joined together via the cut-out portion.

[0013] In this configuration, after inserting the pet's legs into the leg insertion section, adjacent areas are joined together via the cut-out section, making it even less likely to slip while the pet is wearing it.

[0014] Furthermore, the base material may have a tail insertion portion in the region between the two cut portions along the first side edge, through which the pet's tail can be inserted.

[0015] In this configuration, the pet's tail can be inserted through the tail insertion slot to allow for a deeper fit.

[0016] Alternatively, the absorbent may have a T-shape, consisting of a first side portion extending in the short direction of the base material between the two leg insertion portions, and a second side portion that extends in the longitudinal direction of the base material, connected to the end of the first side portion that is on the side of the base material that is along the longitudinal direction.

[0017] In this configuration, urine can be captured even if the tip of the genitals is tilted, especially when worn by male pets.

[0018] Furthermore, the method for manufacturing the absorbent article for pets according to the present invention comprises the steps of: overlapping a plurality of sheet substrates constituting the base substrate by sandwiching the absorbent material between them while the plurality of sheet substrates are in a continuous state; forming the leg insertion portion in the overlapped sheet substrates; and cutting the continuous sheet substrates into the rectangular shape.

[0019] According to the present invention, it is possible to make it easy to wear while preventing it from slipping.

[0021] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In each drawing, unless otherwise specified, the same or corresponding components may be denoted by the same reference numerals and their descriptions may be omitted. In this specification, the front-to-back direction of the diaper 1 is denoted as D1, and the width direction of the diaper 1, which is perpendicular to the front-to-back direction, is denoted as D2. In this specification, the front-to-back direction D1 is the first direction in the present invention and is used to indicate the front-to-back direction of the absorbent material 30, and the width direction D2 is the second direction in the present invention and is also used to indicate the width direction of the absorbent material 30. The front-to-back direction corresponds to the front-to-back direction of the pet. In this specification, the front side of the diaper 1 and absorbent material 30 in the front-to-back direction is referred to as the ventral side or front, and the rear side in the front-to-back direction is referred to as the dorsal side or rear. The side of the diaper 1 facing the pet is referred to as the skin side, and the side of the diaper 1 opposite the skin side is referred to as the non-skin side.

[0022] <Structure> Figure 1 is a view of one embodiment of the absorbent article for pets according to the present invention, as seen from the skin side, and is a plan view in an unfolded state. Figure 2 is a view of the A-A cross section shown in Figure 1, Figure 3 is a view of the B-B cross section shown in Figure 1, and Figure 4 is a view of the C-C cross section shown in Figure 1.

[0023] As shown in Figure 1, this embodiment is a diaper 1 having an outer shape with a length of L1 in the front-to-back direction D1 and a length of L2 in the width direction D2. The length L1 in the front-to-back direction D1 is shorter than the length L2 in the width direction D2. As a result, the diaper 1 has a rectangular shape with the front-to-back direction D1 as the shorter side and the width direction D2 as the longer side.

[0024] As shown in Figures 1 to 4, the diaper 1 is constructed by laminating a permeable top sheet 23, a water-impermeable waterproof sheet 22, and a back sheet 21 in that order from the skin-facing side. The top sheet 23, waterproof sheet 22, and back sheet 21 each serve as an example of a sheet substrate in the present invention, and the top sheet 23, waterproof sheet 22, and back sheet 21 constitute an example of a base substrate in the present invention. The top sheet 23, waterproof sheet 22, and back sheet 21 have the same outer shape and are laminated so that their four sides overlap each other. In addition, the top sheet 23, waterproof sheet 22, and back sheet 21 have two holes 11a and 11b that penetrate from the top sheet 23 to the back sheet 21. An absorbent material 30 is provided between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22.

[0025] The absorbent body 30 is the part that absorbs and retains excretory fluid, and can be formed from a fiber aggregate. This fiber aggregate can be made by stacking short fibers such as cotton pulp, synthetic fibers, or natural fibers made from coniferous or deciduous trees, or by opening filament aggregates obtained by opening tows (fiber bundles) of synthetic fibers such as cellulose acetate as needed. As for the fiber basis weight, when stacking cotton pulp or short fibers, for example, 100 to 300 g / m 2 The density can be set to a certain extent, and in the case of filament aggregates, for example, 30 to 120 g / m². 2The fineness can be set to a certain degree. In the case of synthetic fibers, the fineness is preferably, for example, 1 to 16 dtex, more preferably 1 to 10 dtex, and even more preferably 1 to 5 dtex. The absorbent body 30 may contain superabsorbent polymer particles in part or all of it. Superabsorbent polymer particles include powders as well as particles. Superabsorbent polymer particles can be those used in this type of absorbent article. As materials for superabsorbent polymer particles, for example, starch-based, cellulose-based, or synthetic polymer-based materials can be used. The absorbent body 30 may also be wrapped in a packaging sheet made of crepe paper or nonwoven fabric to maintain its shape.

[0026] The absorbent body 30 has a T-shape in plan view, consisting of a first side portion 31 and a second side portion 32. The first side portion 31 extends in the front-to-back direction D1 in the middle portion of the diaper 1 in the width direction D2. The second side portion 32 connects to the end of the first side portion 31 on the side of one end portion 14a in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, and extends in the width direction D2 along the end portion 14a. The end portion 14a is an example of the second side portion in the present invention.

[0027] The two holes 11a and 11b are examples of leg insertion portions in the present invention. The two holes 11a and 11b have an elliptical shape and are arranged side by side in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1, sandwiching the side portion 31 of the absorbent material 30. Note that the shape of the holes 11a and 11b is not limited to an elliptical shape and can be circular, cloud-shaped, etc. In addition, multiple separation lines, such as perforations, extending outward from the outer circumference of the holes 11a and 11b may be provided. By providing such separation lines, it is possible to accommodate the thickness of the pet's leg to be inserted into the holes 11a and 11b.

[0028] Nonwoven fabric is used as the backsheet 21. The constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric can be selected without particular limitation, including synthetic fibers such as polyethylene or polypropylene (olefin-based), polyester-based, and polyamide-based (including single-component fibers as well as composite fibers such as core-sheaths), as well as regenerated fibers such as rayon and cupro, and natural fibers such as cotton. These can also be used in mixtures. Specifically, spunbond nonwoven fabrics, meltblown nonwoven fabrics, spunlace nonwoven fabrics, thermal bond (air-through) nonwoven fabrics, needle-punched nonwoven fabrics, point-bond nonwoven fabrics, and laminated nonwoven fabrics (such as SSS (spunbond + spunbond + spunbond) nonwoven fabrics in which the same or similar nonwoven fabric layers are laminated). The fiber basis weight of the backsheet 21 is 10 to 50 g / m². 2 Preferably, it is 15 to 30 g / m 2 It is preferable that it be so.

[0029] A hook tape 12 is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21. The hook tape 12 has a strip shape and is attached along one end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. The length of the hook tape 12 in the front-to-back direction D1 can be set arbitrarily, as long as it does not overlap with the flat gathers 50a and 50b, which will be described later. The surface of the hook tape 12 is made of the male part of a hook-and-loop fastener and is fixed to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 with adhesive or the like.

[0030] The waterproof sheet 22 is a water-impermeable sheet that does not allow excretory fluid to pass through, and is laminated on the skin-facing side of the back sheet 21 and bonded with an adhesive or the like. As the waterproof sheet 22, for example, a microporous sheet obtained by kneading an inorganic filler into an olefin resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene, forming a sheet, and then stretching it in a uniaxial or biaxial direction can be suitably used. Alternatively, a waterproof sheet 22 made of nonwoven fabric as a base material with enhanced waterproofing properties may be used. The waterproof sheet 22 has the same external shape as the back sheet 21 and the top sheet 23, but it is preferable that it extends over a wider area than the absorbent body 30 in at least the front-to-back direction D1 and the width direction D2.

[0031] The top sheet 23 is a permeable sheet that allows excretory fluids such as urine to pass through quickly. The top sheet 23 has the same outer shape as the back sheet 21 and the waterproof sheet 22, so that it covers the absorbent body 30. The top sheet 23 is laminated on the waterproof sheet 22 so as to cover the absorbent body 30 and is bonded to the waterproof sheet 22. As a result, the absorbent body 30 is sandwiched between the waterproof sheet 22 and the top sheet 23.

[0032] As the top sheet 23, perforated or non-perforated nonwoven fabrics or porous plastic sheets are preferably used. The constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric can be selected without particular limitation, including, for example, olefin-based fibers such as polyethylene or polypropylene, polyester-based fibers such as polyethylene terephthalate, polyamide-based synthetic fibers (including single-component fibers as well as composite fibers such as core sheaths), regenerated fibers such as rayon or cupro, and natural fibers such as cotton, and these can also be used in mixtures. To increase the flexibility of the nonwoven fabric, it is preferable to use crimped fibers as the constituent fibers. Furthermore, the constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric may be hydrophilic fibers (including hydrophilic fibers that have become hydrophilic with a hydrophilizing agent), hydrophobic fibers, or water-repellent fibers (including water-repellent fibers that have become water-repellent with a water-repellent agent). In any case, the top sheet 23 is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 12.

[0033] Furthermore, nonwoven fabrics are generally classified according to the length of the fibers, the sheet formation method, the fiber bonding method, and the lamination structure into short fiber nonwoven fabrics, long fiber nonwoven fabrics, spunbond nonwoven fabrics, meltblown nonwoven fabrics, spunlace nonwoven fabrics, thermal bond (air-through) nonwoven fabrics, needle punch nonwoven fabrics, point bond nonwoven fabrics, and laminated nonwoven fabrics (such as SSS (spunbond + spunbond + spunbond) nonwoven fabrics, where the same or similar nonwoven fabric layers are laminated, as well as SMS (spunbond + meltblown + spunbond) nonwoven fabrics, SMMS (spunbond + meltblown + meltblown + spunbond) nonwoven fabrics, where different nonwoven fabric layers are laminated and a meltblown layer is sandwiched between spunbond layers). Any of these nonwoven fabrics can be used. It is preferable that laminated nonwoven fabrics are manufactured as a single nonwoven fabric including all layers, and that fiber bonding is performed throughout all layers. This improves the texture, thus preventing skin irritation when it comes into contact with a pet's skin. The laminated nonwoven fabric may also be made by bonding multiple separately manufactured nonwoven fabrics together using a bonding method such as hot-melt adhesive.

[0034] Stretchable members 51a and 51b are positioned between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22. Stretchable member 51a is positioned along one end 14a in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1 and expands and contracts in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. This provides a flat gather 50a along one end 14a in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1. On the other hand, stretchable member 51b is positioned along the other end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1 and expands and contracts in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. This provides a flat gather 50b along the other end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1. Note that the end 14b is an example of the first side edge in the present invention. The flat gathers 50a and 50b hold the diaper 1 around the waist when worn, improving the fit and preventing the diaper 1 from shifting. Therefore, it is preferable that the flat gathers 50a and 50b are provided along both ends 14a and 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, extending over the entire width direction D2 of the diaper 1, but they may also be provided in only a part of the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. In the example shown in Figure 3, two expandable members 51a and 51b are arranged between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22, but the number may be one.

[0035] As the expandable members 51a and 51b, commonly used materials such as styrene-based rubber, olefin-based rubber, urethane-based rubber, ester-based rubber, polyurethane, polyethylene, polystyrene, styrene-butadiene, silicone, and polyester can be used.

[0036] Two gather sheets 61a and 61b are laminated on the skin-facing side of the top sheet 23. Gather sheet 61a is laminated on the top sheet 23 in a folded state along one end 14a in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, and is bonded with adhesive 63. When folded, the gather sheet 61a is laminated on the top sheet 23 such that its end overlaps with the end 14a of the diaper 1. As a result, the folded portion of the gather sheet 61a is located towards the center in the front-to-back direction D1. The folded surfaces of the gather sheet 61a are bonded together at the ends of the gather sheet 61a with adhesive 66. Gather sheet 61b is laminated on the top sheet 23 in a folded state along the other end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1 in the region between the holes 11a and 11b, and is bonded with adhesive 63. The gathered sheet 61b is laminated on the top sheet 23 such that when folded, its edge overlaps with the edge 14b of the diaper 1. As a result, the folded portion of the gathered sheet 61b is located towards the center in the front-to-back direction D1. The folded surfaces of the gathered sheet 61b are bonded together at their edges with adhesive 66. The two gathered sheets 61a and 61b are positioned at a predetermined distance apart in the central part of the diaper 1 in the front-to-back direction D1, with a portion of the folded portion overlapping the absorbent material 30. The outer edges of each of the two gathered sheets 61a and 61b in the front-to-back direction D1 are fixed to the top sheet 23 by adhesive 63 over the entire width direction D2. The gathered sheets 61a and 61b are fixed to the top sheet 23 at both ends in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1 with adhesive 64, making it impossible to open them. Furthermore, the gather sheets 61a and 61b contain expandable members 65a and 65b that expand and contract in the width direction D2. The expandable member 65a is positioned closer to the center of the diaper 1 in the front-to-back direction D1 than the expandable member 51a, along one end 14a in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, and expands and contracts in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1.As a result, in the region along one end 14a in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, the three-dimensional gather 60a is provided closer to the center of the diaper 1 in the front-to-back direction D1 than the flat gather 50a. The expandable member 65b is positioned closer to the center of the diaper 1 in the front-to-back direction D1 than the expandable member 51b, along one end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, and expands and contracts in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. As a result, in the region along one end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1, the three-dimensional gather 60b is provided closer to the center of the diaper 1 in the front-to-back direction D1 than the flat gather 50b. Furthermore, the boundary between the portion of the gather sheet 61a that is fixed to the top sheet 23 and the portion that is not fixed becomes the rising ends 67a and 68a of the three-dimensional gather 60a. As shown in Figure 4, the gathered sheets 61a and 61b are fixed to the top sheet 23 by adhesive 64. The adhesive 64 adheres to the top sheet 23 in the central region in the front-rear direction D1 compared to adhesive 63, except for the area between the rising end 67a and the rising end 68a of the gathered sheet 61a. The adhesive 64 also adheres to the top sheet 23 in the area between the rising end 67b and the rising end 68b of the gathered sheet 61b.

[0037] In the three-dimensional gather 60a configured in this way, the area of the gather sheet 61a that is not adhered to the top sheet 23 by adhesive 64 is designed so that the ends of the portion of the gather sheet 61a that is adhered to the top sheet 23 by adhesive 64 are raised ends 67a and 68a, allowing it to rise towards the skin surface in the front-to-back direction D1, opening from the inside. Furthermore, the length of the three-dimensional gather 60a in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1 is shorter than that of the flat gather 50a, and the ends 67a and 68a, which are shorter than those of the flat gather 50a in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1, are designed so that it can rise towards the skin surface in the front-to-back direction D1. Furthermore, the three-dimensional gather 60b is able to rise towards the skin surface at the ends 67b and 68b in the region between the two holes 11a and 11b. This allows the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b to rise using the contraction force of the expandable members 65a and 65b. By rising, the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b can be made to adhere closely to the pet's body surface. In the example shown in Figure 3, the folded portions 62a and 62b each contain two expandable members 65a and 65b, but the number may be one. On the other hand, the ends of the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b in the width direction D2 do not rise towards the skin surface because the folded portions 62a and 62b are fixed to the top sheet 23 as described above. In this way, the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b have the function of preventing excrement from moving laterally along the top sheet 23 and preventing lateral leakage.

[0038] In this way, by controlling the length in the width direction D2 of the area where the gathered sheets 61a and 61b are bonded to the top sheet 23 with adhesive 64, the length in the width direction D2 of the area where the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b rise towards the skin surface can be set.

[0039] Note that hot-melt adhesives can be used as the adhesives 63 and 64. In this case, three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b having rising end portions 67a, 68a, 67b, 68b can be formed by intermittently applying the hot-melt adhesive serving as the adhesive 64 onto the top sheet 23 in the width direction D2. In the present embodiment, the adhesives 63 and 64 are used as fixing means; however, the fixing means is not limited thereto, and any arbitrary fixing means such as fusion bonding, pressure bonding, or the like can be used.

[0040] As the elastic members 65a and 65b, the same material as that of the elastic members 51a and 51b of the planar gathers 50a and 50b can be used.

[0041] By arranging the planar gathers 50a and 50b in parallel with the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b, the planar gathers 50a and 50b enhance the elastic stretching force of the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. This allows the diaper 1 to be held along the waist circumference, further improving the fitting property.

[0042] Note that waist gathers may be provided by arranging a plurality of elastic members extending in the width direction D2 in parallel with each other in a region along the end portion 14a of the diaper 1. When waist gathers are provided, the plurality of elastic members are disposed, for example, between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22, and stretch in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. It is preferable that the waist gathers are disposed so as to overlap the absorbent body 30 from a position 0 mm to 5 mm from the end portion 14a. In this case, it is preferable to remove the stretchability of the portion of the waist gathers overlapping the absorbent body 30 by cutting the portion of the elastic member overlapping the absorbent body 30 using a shearing cutter or the like.

[0043] Here, another configuration example of the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b will be described.

[0044] Figs. 5 and 6 are diagrams for explaining another configuration example of the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b shown in Fig. 1, where Fig. 5 shows the B-B cross-section shown in Fig. 1, and Fig. 6 shows the C-C cross-section shown in Fig. 1.

[0045] In this example, as shown in Figures 5 and 6, the three-dimensional gathers 60a and 60b differ from those shown in Figures 3 and 4 in that the folded gather sheets 61a and 61b have folded-back portions 62a and 62b.

[0046] The folded-back portions 62a and 62b are arranged at a predetermined interval in the central portion of the diaper 1 in the front-rear direction D1, and are configured by folding back the mutually opposing end sides (folded side of the folded gather) of the gather sheets 61a and 61b. Specifically, the gather sheet 61a forms the folded-back portion 62a obtained by folding back the end 14b side of the diaper 1 in the front-rear direction D1. Further, the gather sheet 61b forms the folded-back portion 62b obtained by folding back the end 14a side of the diaper 1 in the front-rear direction D1. The folded-back portions 62a and 62b are arranged so as to overlap the absorbent body 30, and enclose elastic members 65a and 65b that expand and contract in the width direction D2.

[0047] Then, the boundary between the portion where the folded-back portion 62a is fixed to another region of the gather sheet 61a and the portion where it is not fixed serves as rising end portions 67a and 68a of the three-dimensional gather 60a. Further, the boundary between the portion where the folded-back portion 62b is fixed to another region of the gather sheet 61b and the portion where it is not fixed serves as rising end portions 67b and 68b of the three-dimensional gather 60b. As shown in Figure 6, the fixing of the folded-back portions 62a and 62b to other regions of the gather sheets 61a and 61b is performed with an adhesive 64. The adhesive 64 adheres, to another region of the gather sheet 61a, the region of the folded-back portion 62a other than the region between the rising end portion 67a and the rising end portion 68a. Further, the adhesive 64 adheres, to another region of the gather sheet 61b, the region of the folded-back portion 62b other than the region between the rising end portion 67b and the rising end portion 68b.

[0048] In the three-dimensional gather 60a constructed in this way, the portion of the folded portion 62a that is not adhered to other areas of the gather sheet 61a by adhesive 64 is made up of the ends of the portion of the folded portion 62a that is adhered to other areas of the gather sheet 61a by adhesive 64, which are raised ends 67a and 68a, allowing it to rise towards the skin surface so as to open outwards in the front-to-back direction D1. Similarly, in the three-dimensional gather 60b, the portion of the folded portion 62b that is not adhered to other areas of the gather sheet 61b by adhesive 64 is made up of the ends of the portion of the folded portion 62b that is adhered to other areas of the gather sheet 61b by adhesive 64, which are raised ends 67b and 68b, allowing it to rise towards the skin surface so as to open outwards in the front-to-back direction D1.

[0049] <How to wear> The following explains how to wear diaper 1, which is constructed as described above.

[0050] Figure 7 is a diagram illustrating the method of wearing diaper 1 as shown in Figures 1 to 4.

[0051] The diaper 1 shown in Figures 1 to 4 is a so-called band-type diaper 1 that is worn by wrapping it around the body of a pet. Therefore, it can be put on by wrapping it around the body of a pet. The diaper 1 shown in Figures 1 to 4 has a rectangular shape with the width D2 as the longitudinal direction, as the length L in the front-to-back direction D1 is shorter than the length L2 in the width direction D2. Therefore, as shown in Figure 7(a), the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1 is oriented to coincide with the front-to-back direction of the dog 2 that will wear the diaper 1, and the diaper 1 is placed on the lower part of the dog's body 2a.

[0052] Furthermore, in the diaper 1 shown in Figures 1 to 4, two holes 11a and 11b are formed in the top sheet 23, waterproof sheet 22, and back sheet 21, sandwiching the absorbent material 30 which is located in the middle of the width direction D2. These two holes 11a and 11b penetrate from the top sheet 23 to the back sheet 21, both front and back.

[0053] Therefore, as shown in Figure 7(a), the two rear legs 2b of the dog 2 are inserted through the holes 11a and 11b, respectively, and the diaper 1 is placed on the lower part of the dog 2's body 2a. At this time, the skin side of the diaper 1 is facing the dog 2's body 2a.

[0054] Then, lift the diaper 1 so that it is close to the body 2a of the dog 2, and bring the central part of the diaper 1 in the width direction D2 into contact with the belly of the dog 2.

[0055] Subsequently, as shown in Figure 7(b), both ends of the diaper 1 in the width direction D2 are lifted so that the diaper 1 wraps around the dog's body 2a, and the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1 are overlapped on the dog's back. Here, a hook tape 12 is attached to the non-skin side of the back sheet 21 in the area along the end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. Also, as shown in Figure 7(b), the top sheet 23 that is on the skin side when the dog's body 2a is wrapped around the diaper 1 is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 12.

[0056] Therefore, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1 are overlapped so that the region along the end 14c is sandwiched between the region along the end 14d and the body 2a of the dog 2. In this way, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1 are joined by the hook tape 12 and the top sheet 23. Alternatively, a target tape that can be joined with the hook tape 12 may be attached to the skin-facing side of the top sheet 23 in the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2. In that case, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1 will be joined by the hook tape 12 and the target tape.

[0057] In this way, after inserting the dog's legs 2b through the holes 11a and 11b, the diaper 1 is lifted and wrapped around the dog's body 2a with the width direction D2 as the wrapping direction, making it easy to put the diaper 1 on the dog 2. At that time, the diaper 1 in this embodiment has two holes 11a and 11b, and the dog's legs 2b are inserted through these holes 11a and 11b when the diaper is worn. Therefore, even though it is a so-called band-type diaper 1 that is wrapped around the pet's body, it can be made less likely to slip. Specifically, it can be prevented from rotating around the pet's body. Also, it will not shrink towards the head, making it easier to handle feces.

[0058] Furthermore, the absorbent body 30 in this embodiment is T-shaped, consisting of a side portion 32 extending in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 1 between two holes 11a and 11b, and a side portion 31 that connects to the end 14a of the diaper 1 from the end of the side portion 32 and extends in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1. This allows for the capture of urine even if the direction of the tip of the genitals is tilted, especially when worn by a male pet.

[0059] <Manufacturing Method> The following describes an example of the manufacturing method for diaper 1 as described above.

[0060] Figure 8 is a diagram illustrating the manufacturing method of the diaper 1 shown in Figures 1 to 4.

[0061] When manufacturing the diapers 1 shown in Figures 1 to 4, the absorbent material 30 is prepared as shown in Figure 8, wrapped in packaging material such as crepe paper 33, and transported. The absorbent material 30 may be prepared, for example, by stacking pulp and SAP (Superabsorbent Polymer). The transport is carried out in the width direction D2 with multiple diapers 1 in a continuous manner in the width direction D2.

[0062] Next, the continuous waterproof sheet 22 and back sheet 21 are placed on top of the absorbent body 30, and the stretchable members 51a and 51b that make up the flat gathers 50a and 50b are placed on top of the absorbent body 30. Also, if a waist gather is provided, the stretchable members that make up the waist gather are placed on top of the absorbent body 30.

[0063] Furthermore, continuous gathered sheets 61a and 61b, to which the expandable members 65a and 65b are attached, are placed on top of a continuous top sheet 23, and the top sheet 23 with the gathered sheets 61a and 61b is placed on top of the absorbent body 30 on which the expandable members 51a and 51b are placed.

[0064] In this way, the continuous waterproof sheet 22, back sheet 21, and top sheet 23 are overlapped with the absorbent material 30 in between.

[0065] Subsequently, the hook tape 12 is attached to the continuous backsheet 21, holes 11a and 11b are formed by cutters 3a and 3b, and each product is cut by product cutters 4a and 4b and folded in a predetermined way. For example, the hook tape 12 may be attached using a mechanism that attaches a target tape that can be joined with the hook tape 12 to the backsheet 21. Also, when attaching the hook tape to the top sheet as shown in the embodiment described later, the hook tape is attached to the continuous backsheet 21 on which the top sheet 23 is layered.

[0066] As described above, diapers 1 can be manufactured continuously using sheets in which the waterproof sheet 22, back sheet 21, and top sheet 23 are all continuous, and since not much material is required, diapers 1 can be manufactured at low cost.

[0067] (Another Embodiment 1) Figure 9 is a view from the skin side of another embodiment of the absorbent article for pets of the present invention, and is a plan view in an unfolded state.

[0068] As shown in Figure 9, this embodiment of the diaper 101 differs from the one shown in Figure 1 in that, as an example of a leg insertion section, it has cutouts 111a and 111b instead of holes 11a and 11b. In this embodiment of the diaper 101, a top sheet 23 (see Figure 2), a waterproof sheet 22 (see Figure 2), and a back sheet 21 (see Figure 2) are laminated in this order with the top sheet 23 facing the skin. An absorbent material 30 is provided between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22.

[0069] The cut portions 111a and 111b are arranged in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101, sandwiching the edge portion 31 of the absorbent body 30. The cut portions 111a and 111b are constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 in a semi-elliptical shape from the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 101. The example shown in Figure 9 shows an example where the long axis of the semi-elliptical cut portions 111a and 111b is oriented in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 101, and the short axis coincides with the end portion 14b of the diaper 101.

[0070] As described above, in this embodiment, the diaper 101 is constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 in a semi-elliptical shape from the end 14b of the diaper 101. As a result, in this embodiment, the flat gather 150b on the end 14b side is positioned between the cut portions 111a and 111b. In addition, a hook tape 112a is attached to the back sheet 21, which is the non-skin side, between the cut portions 111a and 111b. The hook tape 112a attached between the cut portions 111a and 111b is in the shape of a strip that follows the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 101. As a result, the hook tape 112a is parallel to the three-dimensional gather 60b and the flat gather 150b. Furthermore, the hook tape 112b is attached to the back sheet 21, which is the non-skin side, instead of the hook tape 12 shown in Figure 1. The hook tape 112b is strip-shaped, with one end in the longitudinal direction close to the front-to-back direction D1 end 14a of the diaper 101, and the other end in the longitudinal direction close to the width direction D2 end 14c of the diaper 101, and is positioned diagonally with respect to the front-to-back direction D1 and the width direction D2.

[0071] When putting the diaper 101, configured as described above, onto the dog 2 shown in Figure 7, first, insert the legs 2b into the cutouts 111a and 111b, then lift the diaper 101 so that the central part of the diaper 101 in the width direction D2 comes into contact with the dog's abdomen.

[0072] Then, as shown in Figure 1, both ends of the diaper 101 in the width direction D2 are lifted so that the diaper 101 wraps around the dog's body 2a. On the dog's back, the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101 are overlapped. Here, a hook tape 112b is attached to the non-skin side of the back sheet 21 in the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101. The top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the dog's body 2a is wrapped around the diaper 101, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 112b.

[0073] Therefore, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101 are overlapped so that the region along the end 14c is sandwiched between the region along the end 14d and the body 2a of the dog 2. As a result, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101 are joined by the hook tape 112b and the top sheet 23.

[0074] Furthermore, the two adjacent regions 115a and 115b, flanking the cut portion 111a, are overlapped such that a portion of the backsheet 21 of region 115a faces the topsheet 23 of region 115b. Here, in region 115a, a hook tape 112a is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the region along the front-to-back end 14b of the diaper 101 in the front-to-back direction D1. The topsheet 23, which is the skin side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 101, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 112a. In this way, the two regions 115a and 115b flanking the cut portion 111a are joined by the hook tape 112a and the topsheet 23, forming a hole through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted.

[0075] Similarly, the two regions 115a and 115c, flanking the cut portion 111b, are overlapped so that a portion of the backsheet 21 of region 115a faces the topsheet 23 of region 115c. In region 115a, a hook tape 112a is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the region along the front-to-back end 14b of the diaper 101 in the front-to-back direction D1. The topsheet 23, which is the skin-side side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 101, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 112a. In this way, the two regions 115a and 115c, flanking the cut portion 111b, are joined by the hook tape 112a and the topsheet 23, forming a hole through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted.

[0076] In this way, the diaper 101 can be easily put on the dog 2 by lifting the diaper 101 so that the legs 2b fit into the cut-out sections 111a and 111b, and wrapping the diaper 101 around the dog 2's body 2a with the width direction D2 as the wrapping direction. In this embodiment, the diaper 101 has two cut-out sections 111a and 111b, and the dog 2's legs 2b fit into these cut-out sections 111a and 111b when worn. As a result, even though it is a so-called band-type diaper 101 that is wrapped around the pet's body, it is less likely to slip. In addition, the two regions 115a and 115b that sandwich the cut-out section 111a, and the two regions 115a and 115c that sandwich the cut-out section 111b are configured to be joined together. As a result, by joining the two regions 115a and 115b flanking the excised portion 111a, and the two regions 115a and 115c flanking the excised portion 111b, a hole can be formed through which the dog's leg 2b is inserted, making the diaper 101 even less likely to slip.

[0077] In the example shown in Figure 1, the dog's legs 2b are inserted through the holes 11a and 11b, respectively, before the diaper 1 is lifted. However, in this embodiment, after inserting the legs 2b into the cut-out sections 111a and 111b and lifting the diaper 101, the two regions 115a and 115b flanking the cut-out section 111a, and the two regions 115a and 115c flanking the cut-out section 111b are joined together to form the holes through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted. Therefore, the effort of inserting the dog's legs 2b into the holes is eliminated, making it easier to put on the diaper 101.

[0078] (Another Embodiment 2) Figure 10 is a view from the skin side of another embodiment of the absorbent article for pets of the present invention, and is a plan view in an unfolded state.

[0079] As shown in Figure 10, this embodiment of the diaper 201 differs from that shown in Figure 1 in that, as an example of a leg insertion section, it has cutouts 211a and 211b instead of holes 11a and 11b. In this embodiment of the diaper 201, a top sheet 23 (see Figure 2), a waterproof sheet 22 (see Figure 2), and a back sheet 21 (see Figure 2) are laminated in this order with the top sheet 23 facing the skin. An absorbent material 30 is provided between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22.

[0080] The cut portions 211a and 211b are arranged side by side in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201, sandwiching the edge portion 31 of the absorbent body 30. The cut portions 211a and 211b are constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 into elongated holes from the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 101. The example shown in Figure 10 shows an example where the long axis of the elongated holes of the cut portions 211a and 211b is oriented in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 201, and the short axis is oriented in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201.

[0081] As described above, in this embodiment, the diaper 201 is constructed by cutting out the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 in an elongated hole shape from the end 14b of the diaper 201. Therefore, in this embodiment, the flat gather 250b on the end 14b side is positioned between the cut portions 211a, 211b. In addition, a hook tape 212a is attached to the top sheet 23, which is on the skin side, between the cut portion 211a and the end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201. The hook tape 212a has a strip shape and is attached so that its longitudinal direction faces the width direction D2 of the diaper 201 in the region along the end 14b of the diaper 201. In addition, a hook tape 212b is attached to the top sheet 23, which is on the skin side, between the cut portion 211b and the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201. The hook tape 212b has a strip-like shape and is attached in a region along the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 201 such that its longitudinal direction is oriented in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201.

[0082] When putting the diaper 101, configured as described above, onto the dog 2 shown in Figure 7, first, insert the legs 2b into the cutouts 211a and 211b, then lift the diaper 201 so that the central part of the diaper 201 in the width direction D2 comes into contact with the dog's abdomen.

[0083] Then, as shown in Figure 1, both ends of the diaper 201 in the width direction D2 are lifted so that the diaper 201 wraps around the body 2a of the dog 2. On the back of the dog 2, the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101 are overlapped. Here, a hook tape 12 is attached to the non-skin side of the back sheet 21 in the area along the end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201. The top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the body 2a of the dog 2 is wrapped around the diaper 201, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 12.

[0084] Therefore, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d are superimposed in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201 such that the region along the end 14d is sandwiched between the region along the end 14c and the body 2a of the dog 2. As a result, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201 are joined by the hook tape 12 and the top sheet 23.

[0085] Furthermore, the two regions 215a and 215b, which sandwich the cut portion 211a, are overlapped such that a portion of the back sheet 21 of region 215a faces the top sheet 23 of region 215b. Here, in region 215b, a hook tape 212a is attached to the skin-facing side of the top sheet 23 in the region along the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 201. Also, the back sheet 21, which is the non-skin-facing side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 201, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 212a. In this way, the two regions 215a and 215b, which sandwich the cut portion 211a, are joined by the hook tape 212a and the back sheet 21, and a hole is formed through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted.

[0086] Similarly, the two regions 215a and 215c, flanking the cut portion 211b, are overlapped such that a portion of the backsheet 21 of region 215a faces the topsheet 23 of region 215c. In region 215c, a hook tape 212b is attached to the skin-facing side of the topsheet 23 in the region along the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 201. The backsheet 21, which is the non-skin-facing side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 201, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 212b. In this way, the two regions 215a and 215c, flanking the cut portion 211b, are joined by the hook tape 212b and the backsheet 21, forming a hole through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted.

[0087] In this way, the diaper 201 can be easily put on the dog 2 by lifting the diaper 201 so that the legs 2b fit into the cut-out sections 211a and 211b, and wrapping the diaper 201 around the dog 2's body 2a with the width direction D2 as the wrapping direction. In this embodiment, the diaper 201 has two cut-out sections 211a and 211b, and the dog 2's legs 2b fit into these cut-out sections 211a and 211b when worn. As a result, even though it is a so-called band-type diaper 201 that is wrapped around the pet's body, it is less likely to slip. Furthermore, the two regions 215a and 215b that sandwich the cut-out section 211a, and the two regions 215a and 215c that sandwich the cut-out section 211b are configured to be joined together. As a result, by joining the two regions 215a and 215b flanking the excised portion 211a, and the two regions 215a and 215c flanking the excised portion 211b, a hole can be formed through which the dog's leg 2b is inserted, making the diaper 201 even less likely to slip.

[0088] (Another Embodiment 3) Figure 11 is a view of another embodiment of the absorbent article for pets according to the present invention, as seen from the skin side, and is a plan view in an unfolded state.

[0089] As shown in Figure 11, this embodiment of the diaper 301 differs from the one shown in Figure 1 in that, instead of holes 11a and 11b as an example of leg insertion parts, it has cutouts 111a and 111b similar to those shown in Figure 9. The diaper 301 in this embodiment is also constructed by laminating a top sheet 23 (see Figure 2), a waterproof sheet 22 (see Figure 2), and a back sheet 21 (see Figure 2) in this order, with the top sheet 23 facing the skin. An absorbent material 30 is provided between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22.

[0090] The cut portions 111a and 111b are arranged in the width direction D2 of the diaper 301, sandwiching the edge portion 31 of the absorbent body 30. The cut portions 111a and 111b are constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 in a semi-elliptical shape from the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 301. The example shown in Figure 11 shows an example where the long axis of the semi-elliptical cut portions 111a and 111b is oriented in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 301, and the short axis coincides with the end portion 14b of the diaper 301.

[0091] Furthermore, the diaper 301 of this embodiment has cut-out sections 371, 372a, and 372b. These cut-out sections 371, 372a, and 372b are examples of tail insertion sections in the present invention, and are constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 from the end 14b in the front-rear direction D1 of the diaper 301.

[0092] The cut portion 371 is located between the two cut portions 111a and 111b and is formed by cutting out a semi-elliptical shape from the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 301. Note that the cut portion 371 does not overlap with the absorbent body 30. The cut portion 372a is located at the corner of the diaper 301 between the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 and the end portion 14c in the width direction D2 and is formed by cutting out a quarter-elliptical shape from the corner of the diaper 301. The cut portion 372b is located at the corner of the diaper 301 between the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 and the end portion 14d in the width direction D2 and is formed by cutting out a quarter-elliptical shape from the corner of the diaper 301.

[0093] Furthermore, a hook tape 312c is attached to the backsheet 21 on the non-skin side between the cut portions 111a and 371. The hook tape 312c attached between the cut portions 111a and 371 is in the shape of a strip that follows the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 301. Furthermore, a hook tape 312d is attached to the backsheet 21 on the non-skin side between the cut portions 111b and 371. The hook tape 312d attached between the cut portions 111b and 371 is in the shape of a strip that follows the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 301.

[0094] Furthermore, hook tapes 312a and 312b are attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 along both ends 14c and 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 1.

[0095] When putting the diaper 301, configured as described above, onto the dog 2 shown in Figure 7, first, insert the legs 2b into the cutouts 111a and 111b, then lift the diaper 301 so that the central part of the diaper 301 in the width direction D2 comes into contact with the dog's abdomen.

[0096] Then, as shown in Figure 1, both ends of the diaper 301 in the width direction D2 are lifted so that the diaper 301 wraps around the dog's body 2a. At this time, the dog's tail 2c is inserted into the cut-out section 371. On the dog's back, the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 301 are overlapped. Here, a hook tape 312a is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the area along the end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 301. Also, a hook tape 312b is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 301. Furthermore, the top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the dog's body 2a is wrapped around the diaper 301, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tapes 212a and 212b.

[0097] Therefore, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 301 are superimposed. In this case, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201 may be superimposed such that the region along the end 14d is sandwiched between the region along the end 14c and the body 2a of the dog 2. Alternatively, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201 may be superimposed such that the region along the end 14c is sandwiched between the region along the end 14d and the body 2a of the dog 2.

[0098] As a result, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101 are joined by the hook tapes 312a, 312b and the top sheet 23. Specifically, if the region along the end 14d is sandwiched between the region along the end 14c of the diaper 301 and the body 2a of the dog 2, the hook tape 312b and the top sheet 23 will be joined. Also, if the region along the end 14c is sandwiched between the region along the end 14d of the diaper 301 and the body 2a of the dog 2, the hook tape 312a and the top sheet 23 will be joined. Furthermore, once the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 101 are joined, the cut portion 371 and the cut portions 372a, 372b form a tail hole through which the tail 2c of the dog 2 is inserted. Then, the tail 2c of dog 2 is inserted through this caudal opening.

[0099] Furthermore, the two regions 315a and 315b, which sandwich the cut portion 111a, are overlapped such that a portion of the back sheet 21 of region 315a faces the top sheet 23 of region 315b. Here, in region 315a, a hook tape 312c is attached to the non-skin side of the back sheet 21 in the region along the front-to-back end 14b of the diaper 301 in the front-to-back direction D1. The top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 301, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 312c. In this way, the two regions 315a and 315b, which sandwich the cut portion 111a, are joined by the hook tape 312c and the top sheet 23, and a hole is formed through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted.

[0100] Similarly, the two regions 315c and 315d, flanking the cut portion 111b, are overlapped such that a portion of the backsheet 21 of region 315d faces the topsheet 23 of region 315c. In region 315d, a hook tape 312d is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the region along the front-to-back end 14b of the diaper 301 in the front-to-back direction D1. The topsheet 23, which is the skin-side side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 301, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 312d. In this way, the two regions 315c and 315d, flanking the cut portion 111b, are joined by the hook tape 312d and the topsheet 23, forming a hole through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted.

[0101] In this way, the diaper 301 can be easily put on the dog 2 by lifting the diaper 301 so that the legs 2b fit into the cut-out sections 111a and 111b, and wrapping the diaper 301 around the dog 2's body 2a with the width direction D2 as the wrapping direction. In this embodiment, the diaper 301 has two cut-out sections 111a and 111b, and the dog 2's legs 2b fit into these cut-out sections 111a and 111b when it is worn. As a result, even though it is a so-called band-type diaper 301 that is wrapped around the pet's body, it can be made less likely to slip. In addition, the two regions 315a and 315b sandwiching the cut-out section 111a, and the two regions 315c and 315d sandwiching the cut-out section 111b are configured to be joined together. As a result, by joining the two regions 315a and 315b flanking the excised portion 111a, and the two regions 315c and 315d flanking the excised portion 111b, a hole can be formed through which the dog's leg 2b is inserted, making the diaper 301 even less likely to slip.

[0102] Furthermore, the excised portions 371, 372a, and 372b form a tail hole, and by inserting the pet's tail through this tail hole, the diaper 301 can be fitted more securely to the pet.

[0103] (Another Embodiment 4) Figure 12 is a view from the skin side of another embodiment of the absorbent article for pets of the present invention, and is a plan view in an unfolded state.

[0104] As shown in Figure 12, this embodiment of the diaper 401 differs from the one shown in Figure 1 in that, instead of holes 11a and 11b as an example of leg insertion parts, it has cutouts 211a and 211b similar to those shown in Figure 10. The diaper 401 in this embodiment is also constructed by laminating a top sheet 23 (see Figure 2), a waterproof sheet 22 (see Figure 2), and a back sheet 21 (see Figure 2) in this order, with the top sheet 23 facing the skin. An absorbent material 30 is provided between the top sheet 23 and the waterproof sheet 22.

[0105] The cut portions 211a and 211b are arranged in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401, sandwiching the edge portion 31 of the absorbent body 30. The cut portions 211a and 211b are constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 into elongated holes from the end portion 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401. The example shown in Figure 12 shows an example where the long axis of the elongated holes of the cut portions 211a and 211b is oriented in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 201, and the short axis is oriented in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401.

[0106] Furthermore, the diaper 401 of this embodiment has a cut-out portion 371 similar to that shown in Figure 11. The cut-out portion 371 is an example of a tail insertion portion in the present invention, and is constructed by cutting the back sheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and top sheet 23 from the end portion 14b in the front-rear direction D1 of the diaper 301.

[0107] Furthermore, the diaper 401 of this embodiment has cut portions 471a and 471b. The cut portion 471a is formed by cutting a predetermined length from the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401 in the area on the end 14c side in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 compared to the cut portion 211a. The cut portion 471b is formed by cutting a predetermined length from the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401 in the area on the end 14d side in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 compared to the cut portion 211b. As a result, in this embodiment, the length of the diaper 401 in the front-to-back direction D1 is such that the length L4 of the area where the cut portions 471a and 471b are provided is shorter than the length L3 of the other areas by the length D1 of the cut portions 471a and 471b.

[0108] As described above, the diaper 401 of this embodiment has cut-out sections 211a, 211b, and 371, which are cut from the end 14b of the diaper 401, along with the backsheet 21, waterproof sheet 22, and topsheet 23. Therefore, on the end 14b side in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401 of this embodiment, two flat gathers 450b, 450c and two three-dimensional gathers 460b, 460c are arranged. The flat gathers 450b and three-dimensional gathers 460b are arranged along the end 14b between the cut-out sections 211a, 371, and the flat gathers 450c and three-dimensional gathers 460c are arranged along the end 14b between the cut-out sections 211b, 371. In addition, a hook tape 412a is attached to the backsheet 21, which is the non-skin side, between the cut-out sections 211a, 371. The hook tape 412a attached between the cut sections 211a and 371 is in the shape of a strip that follows the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401. As a result, the hook tape 412a is parallel to the three-dimensional gathers 460b and the flat gathers 450b. In addition, between the cut sections 211b and 371, the hook tape 412b is attached to the back sheet 21, which is on the non-skin side. The hook tape 412b attached between the cut sections 211b and 371 is in the shape of a strip that follows the end 14b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401. As a result, the hook tape 412b is parallel to the three-dimensional gathers 460c and the flat gathers 450c.

[0109] Furthermore, the backsheet 21, which is the non-skin side, is fitted with a hook tape 12, as shown in Figure 1, and also with a hook tape 412c. The hook tape 412c is strip-shaped and is positioned such that one end in the longitudinal direction is close to the front-to-back end 14a of the diaper 401, and extends in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401, in a region where it is a length L5 away from the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401. Note that the length L7 of the hook tape 412c in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401 may be shorter than the length L6 of the hook tape 12 in the front-to-back direction D1 of the diaper 401.

[0110] When putting the diaper 401, configured as described above, onto the dog 2 shown in Figure 7, first, insert the legs 2b into the cutouts 211a and 211b, then lift the diaper 401 so that the central part of the diaper 401 in the width direction D2 comes into contact with the dog's abdomen.

[0111] Then, as shown in Figure 1, both ends of the diaper 401 in the width direction D2 are lifted so that the diaper 401 wraps around the body 2a of the dog 2. At this time, the tail 2c of the dog 2 is inserted into the cut-out section 371. Then, on the back of the dog 2, the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 are overlapped. Here, a hook tape 12 is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the area along the end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401. Also, a hook tape 412c is attached to the non-skin side of the backsheet 21 in the area a length L5 away from the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401. Furthermore, the top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the body 2a of the dog 2 is wrapped around the diaper 401, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tapes 12 and 412c.

[0112] Therefore, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 are superimposed.

[0113] As a result, the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 are joined by the hook tapes 12, 412c and the top sheet 23. Specifically, if the region along the end 14d is sandwiched between the region along the end 14c of the diaper 401 and the body 2a of the dog 2, the hook tape 412c and the top sheet 23 will be joined. Also, if the region along the end 14c is sandwiched between the region along the end 14d of the diaper 401 and the body 2a of the dog 2, the hook tape 12 and the top sheet 23 will be joined. In this case, the hook tape 412c is attached to a region of the diaper 401 that is a length L5 away from the end 14d in the width direction D2. Therefore, if the circumference of the dog's body 2a is long and the hook tape 412c does not overlap with the area along the end 14c in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401, the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 are joined using the hook tape 12. In that case, the area along the end 14c and the area along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 201 are overlapped so that the area along the end 14c is sandwiched between the area along the end 14d and the dog's body 2a.

[0114] Furthermore, when the region along the end 14c and the region along the end 14d in the width direction D2 of the diaper 401 are joined, the cut portion 371 and the cut portions 471a and 471b form a tail hole through which the tail 2c of the dog 2 is inserted. The tail 2c of the dog 2 is then inserted into this tail hole.

[0115] Furthermore, the two regions 415a and 415b, which sandwich the cut portion 211a, are overlapped so that the back sheet 21 of region 415a faces the top sheet 23 of region 415b. Here, in region 415a, a hook tape 412a is attached to the non-skin side of the back sheet 21 in the region along the front-to-back end 14b of the diaper 401 in the front-to-back direction D1. The top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 401, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 412a. In this way, the two regions 415a and 415b, which sandwich the cut portion 211a, are joined by the hook tape 412a and the top sheet 23, and a hole is formed through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted. In this case, the length L4 of region 415b in the front-to-back direction D1 of the two regions 415a and 415b that sandwich the excised portion 211a is shorter than the length L5 of region 415a. Therefore, region 415a is rolled up towards the end 14a with the skin side facing inward, and then region 415b is placed on top of it.

[0116] Similarly, the two regions 415c and 415d, flanking the cut portion 211b, are overlapped so that the back sheet 21 of region 415d faces the top sheet 23 of region 415c. In region 415d, a hook tape 412b is attached to the non-skin side of the back sheet 21 in the region along the front-to-back end 14b of the diaper 401 in the front-to-back direction D1. The top sheet 23, which is the skin side when the dog's torso 2a is wrapped by the diaper 401, is made of a material that can be joined to the hook tape 412b. In this way, the two regions 415c and 415d, flanking the cut portion 211b, are joined by the hook tape 412b and the top sheet 23, forming a hole through which the dog's legs 2b are inserted. In this case, of the two regions 415c and 415d that sandwich the excised portion 211b, the length L4 of region 415c in the anterior-posterior direction D1 is shorter than the length L5 of region 415d. Therefore, region 415d is rolled up towards the end 14a with the skin side facing inward, and then superimposed on region 415c.

[0117] In this way, the diaper 401 can be easily put on the dog 2 by lifting the diaper 401 so that the legs 2b fit into the cut-out sections 211a and 211b, and wrapping the diaper 401 around the dog 2's body 2a with the width direction D2 as the wrapping direction. In this embodiment, the diaper 401 has two cut-out sections 211a and 211b, and the dog 2's legs 2b fit into these cut-out sections 211a and 211b when worn. As a result, even though the diaper 401 is a so-called band-type diaper that is wrapped around the pet's body, it is less likely to slip. Furthermore, the two regions 415a and 415b on either side of the cut-out section 211a, and the two regions 415c and 415d on either side of the cut-out section 211b are configured to be joined together. As a result, by joining the two regions 415a and 415b flanking the excised portion 211a, and the two regions 415c and 415d flanking the excised portion 211b, a hole can be formed through which the dog's leg 2b is inserted, making the diaper 401 even less likely to shift.

[0118] Furthermore, the excised portions 371, 471a, and 471b form a tail hole, and by inserting the pet's tail through this tail hole, the diaper 401 can be fitted more securely to the pet.

[0119] The shape of the cut portion is not limited to the semi-elliptical or elongated hole shape described above, as long as it is cut from the edge 14b of the diaper in a predetermined shape. In addition, multiple separation lines, such as perforations, extending outward from the outer circumference of the cut portions 111a, 111b, 211a, and 211b may be provided. Alternatively, multiple separation lines, such as perforations, may be provided to surround the cut portions 111a, 111b, 211a, and 211b. By providing these separation lines, the size of the hole formed by the cut portions 111a, 111b, 211a, and 211b can be increased. By increasing the size of the hole formed by the cut portions 111a, 111b, 211a, and 211b, it is possible to accommodate the thickness of a pet's leg. Similarly, for the cut portions 371, 372a, and 372b, multiple separation lines, such as perforations, extending outward from the outer circumference of the cut portions 371, 372a, and 372b may be provided. Furthermore, multiple perforations or other separation lines may be provided around the cut portions 371, 372a, and 372b. By providing these separation lines, the size of the tail opening formed by the cut portions 371, 372a, and 372b can be increased. By increasing the size of the tail opening formed by the cut portions 371, 372a, and 372b, it is possible to accommodate the thickness of the pet's tail.
