[0023] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of the chip structure proposed in an embodiment of this disclosure. Detailed Implementation

[0024] This disclosure provides a communication parameter processing method, a communication device, and a storage medium, which helps to improve the communication parameter processing mechanism in channel switching scenarios and enhance communication efficiency.

[0025] In a first aspect, embodiments of this disclosure provide a communication parameter processing method, the method comprising:

[0026] During the retransmission of the first data frame via at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the retransmission counter is incremented by 1 each time the first data frame is retransmitted.

[0027] The first channel includes a main channel, and the second channel includes a non-main channel accessing the main channel or a dynamic sub-band operation channel.

[0028] In the above embodiments, regardless of whether the data frame is retransmitted using the first channel or the second channel, the same retransmission counter is used to count the number of retransmissions, avoiding counting confusion in multi-channel scenarios and ensuring the reliability of the retransmission mechanism. Furthermore, retransmitting data frames through at least one of the first and / or second channels helps improve the utilization of channel resources and increase the overall network throughput.

[0029] In conjunction with some embodiments provided in the first aspect, in some embodiments, the traffic identifier TID corresponding to the first data frame is the same in each retransmission process, and the sequence number SN corresponding to the first data frame is the same in each retransmission process.

[0030] In the above embodiments, keeping the TID unchanged helps maintain the stability of the frame priority during retransmission, avoiding service quality fluctuations caused by channel switching. Keeping the SN unchanged eliminates the need for the receiver to distinguish between the original frame and the retransmitted frame, allowing for direct deduplication via the SN, reducing processing complexity. At the same time, SN consistency prevents sequence number jumps caused by retransmissions across multiple channels.

[0031] In conjunction with some embodiments provided in the first aspect, in some embodiments, in response to the first data frame being a data frame encapsulated based on a Single Media Access Control Service Data Unit (MSDU), the transmission timer and time to lifetime of the MSDU are kept in a continuous timing state during the retransmission of the first data frame;

[0032] In response to the first data frame being a data frame encapsulated based on an Aggregated Media Access Control Service Data Unit (A-MSDU), the transmission timer and time to lifetime of the A-MSDU are continuously timed during the retransmission of the first data frame.

[0033] In the above embodiments, during the process of retransmitting data frames through multiple channels, continuously timing the transmission timer of the MSDU or A-MSDU helps to avoid wireless retransmission of data frames and prevent invalid data frames from occupying resources. By continuously timing the lifetime of the MSDU or A-MSDU, the lifecycle of the data frame can be determined to be controllable, further preventing wireless data frames from occupying channel resources.

[0034] In conjunction with some embodiments provided in the first aspect, in some embodiments, during the transmission of data frames of the same service flow through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the SNs of the data frames of the same service flow belong to the same sequence number space (SNS).

[0035] In the above embodiments, when transmitting data frames through multiple channels, the data frames of multiple channels are sorted according to a unified sequence number to avoid out-of-order problems caused by multiple channels in parallel at the receiving end, thereby improving the data frame transmission efficiency.

[0036] In conjunction with some embodiments provided in the first aspect, in some embodiments, the method further includes:

[0037] During the process of receiving data frames of the same service stream through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the same service stream data frames are received through the same receiver buffer.

[0038] In the above embodiments, when transmitting data frames through multiple channels, data frames of the same service stream transmitted through multiple channels can be received by buffering at the same receiving end, avoiding data frame reception chaos and facilitating the effective transmission of data frames of the same service stream.

[0039] In conjunction with some embodiments provided in the first aspect, in some embodiments, the method further includes:

[0040] In response to determining that the second channel is idle through energy detection, the second channel is accessed according to the same Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) parameters as the first channel or the Multi-User Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (MU-EDCA) parameters.

[0041] In the above embodiments, accessing the second channel using the same EDCA parameters as the first channel or MU-EDCA parameters helps to balance the load of multiple channels and improve channel access efficiency.

[0042] In conjunction with some embodiments provided in the first aspect, in some embodiments, the method further includes:

[0043] In response to determining that the second channel is busy and generating a random backoff number through energy detection, switch back to the first channel and discard the random backoff number.

[0044] In the above embodiments, backoff number dropping can effectively avoid channel access conflicts and ensure the smooth transmission of data frames under NPCA or DSO mechanisms.

[0045] Secondly, embodiments of this disclosure also provide a communication device, including:

[0046] During the retransmission of the first data frame via at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the retransmission counter is incremented by 1 each time the first data frame is retransmitted.

[0047] The first channel includes a main channel, and the second channel includes a non-main channel accessing the main channel or a dynamic sub-band operation channel.

[0048] Thirdly, embodiments of this disclosure also provide a communication device, including:

[0049] One or more processors;

[0050] The communication device is used to perform the method described in the first aspect and / or the optional implementation provided by the first aspect.

[0051] Fourthly, embodiments of this disclosure also provide a storage medium storing instructions that, when executed on a communication device, cause the communication device to perform the method described in the first aspect and / or the optional implementation provided in the first aspect.

[0052] Fifthly, embodiments of this disclosure provide a program product that, when executed by a communication device, causes the communication device to perform the method as described in the first aspect and / or the optional implementations provided in the first aspect.

[0053] In a sixth aspect, embodiments of this disclosure provide a computer program that, when run on a computer, causes the computer to perform the methods described in the first aspect and / or the optional implementations provided in the first aspect.

[0054] In a seventh aspect, embodiments of this disclosure provide a chip or chip system. The chip or chip system includes processing circuitry configured to perform the methods described in the first aspect and / or the optional implementations provided in the first aspect.

[0055] It is understood that the aforementioned communication devices, storage media, program products, computer programs, chips, or chip systems are all used to execute the methods proposed in the embodiments of this disclosure. [0074] Furthermore, each element, each row, or each column in the table of this disclosure can be implemented as an independent embodiment, and any combination of any element, any row, or any column can also be implemented as an independent embodiment.

[0075] In existing Wi-Fi applications, the hardware capabilities of access point (AP) devices are generally greater than those of station (STA) devices. For example, an AP might typically support a maximum bandwidth of 320MHz and a maximum of 4 spatial streams (SS), while a STA might only support a maximum bandwidth of 80MHz and a maximum of 2 SS. In this situation, the hardware capabilities of the AP and STA are asymmetrical, and the AP may be limited to the STA's hardware capabilities for communication, resulting in wasted hardware resources. To address this, existing technologies propose mechanisms such as Dynamic Subband Operation (DSO) or Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA).

[0076] Both the NPCA and DSO mechanisms involve a switchover from the primary channel to other channels. For example, in the NPCA mechanism, communication equipment can switch between the primary channel and a non-primary channel accessing the primary channel (NPCA primary channel), while in the DSO mechanism, it can switch between the primary channel and the DSO channel (DSOChannel). Both NPCA and DSO mechanisms can also utilize Transmission Opportunity (TXOP). Further research is needed into the processing of communication parameters involved in data frame transmission, such as Quality of Service (QoS) data transmission in NPCA and / or DSO mechanisms. These parameters include sequence number (SN) allocation, retry counter determination, medium access control (MAC) service data unit (MSDU) transmit timer count determination, and aggregated MAC service data unit (A-MSDU) transmit timer count determination.

[0077] To address the aforementioned issues, this disclosure provides a communication parameter processing method that improves the communication parameter processing mechanism under the NPCA and / or DSO mechanisms, thereby enhancing communication efficiency.

[0078] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of the architecture of a communication system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0079] As shown in Figure 1, the communication system 100 includes AP101 and STA102.

[0080] During the process of AP101 retransmitting data frames to STA102 via at least one of the first or second channels, the retransmission counter is incremented by 1 for each retransmission of a data frame.

[0081] Alternatively, during the process of retransmitting data frames to AP101 via at least one of the first or second channels, STA102 increments the retransmission counter by 1 for each retransmission of a data frame.

[0082] The first channel includes the primary channel, and the second channel includes the non-primary channel accessing the primary channel (NPCA primary channel), or the first channel includes the primary channel and the second channel includes the DSO channel.

[0083] In some embodiments, an AP can be an access point for mobile terminals to access a wired network. An AP acts as a bridge connecting wired and wireless networks, its main function being to connect various wireless network clients together and then connect the wireless network to an Ethernet network. Specifically, an AP can be a terminal device or network device equipped with a Wi-Fi chip. Optionally, the AP can support various WLAN standards such as 802.11ax, 802.11be, 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11bf, and 802.11bn, as well as the next-generation 802.11 protocol, but is not limited to these.

[0084] In some embodiments, the STA may also be referred to as a Non-AP STA. A Non-AP STA (STA) includes, for example, a wireless communication chip, wireless sensor, or wireless communication terminal that supports Wi-Fi communication. Optionally, the wireless communication terminal may be at least one of, but is not limited to, a mobile phone, a wearable device, an IoT device supporting Wi-Fi communication, a car with Wi-Fi communication capabilities, a smart car, a tablet computer, a computer with wireless transceiver capabilities, a virtual reality (VR) terminal device, an augmented reality (AR) terminal device, a wireless terminal device in industrial control, a wireless terminal device in self-driving, a wireless terminal device in remote medical surgery, a wireless terminal device in a smart grid, a wireless terminal device in transportation safety, a wireless terminal device in a smart city, and a wireless terminal device in a smart home.

[0085] Specifically, the STA can be a terminal device or network device with a Wi-Fi chip. Optionally, the site device can support various WLAN standards such as 802.11ax, 802.11be, 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11bf, and 802.11bn, as well as the next-generation 802.11 protocol, but is not limited to these.

[0086] Optionally, in this embodiment of the disclosure, AP and STA can be devices that support multiple links. For example, they can be represented as Access Point Multi-Link Device (AP MLD) and Non-Access Point Multi-Link Device (Non-AP MLD), respectively. AP MLD can represent an access point that supports multiple link communication functions, and Non-AP MLD can represent a site that supports multiple link communication functions.

[0087] It is understood that the communication system described in this disclosure is for the purpose of more clearly illustrating the technical solutions of this disclosure, and does not constitute a limitation on the technical solutions proposed in this disclosure. Each main body may be physical or virtual. The connection relationship between the main bodies is illustrative. The main bodies may not be connected or may be connected. The connection can be in any way, it can be a direct connection or an indirect connection, it can be a wired connection or a wireless connection.

[0089] The embodiments disclosed herein can be applied to wireless local area networks (WLANs), such as WLANs using the 802.11 series of protocols.

[0090] Figure 2 is a flowchart illustrating a communication parameter processing method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 2, the method includes:

[0091] S21, the first device retransmits the first data frame through at least one of the first channel or the second channel.

[0092] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the first data frame can be any QoS data frame that the communication device needs to retransmit.

[0093] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the first device, as the transmitter of the first data frame, can be any communication device, such as a STA or an AP. The second device can be any communication device that communicates with the first device, and there are no restrictions on this.

[0094] As an example, the first device can be a STA, the second device can be an AP, and the first device retransmits the first data frame to the second device through at least one of the first channel or the second channel.

[0095] As an example, the first device can be an AP, the second device can be a STA, and the first device retransmits the first data frame to the second device through at least one of the first channel or the second channel.

[0096] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the first channel includes a primary channel, and the second channel includes a non-primary channel accessing the primary channel (NPCA primary channel) or a DSO channel.

[0097] As an example, the first device can retransmit the first data frame through the main channel, or it can retransmit the first data frame by accessing the main channel through a non-main channel, or it can switch between the main channel and the non-main channel to access the main channel to achieve the retransmission of the first data frame, and each time the first data frame is retransmitted through one of the channels.

[0098] As an example, the first device can retransmit the first data frame through the main channel, or through the DSO channel, or switch between the main channel and the DSO channel to retransmit the first data frame, and each time the first data frame is retransmitted through one of the channels.

[0099] Optionally, the first channel includes the main channel, and the second channel includes the DSO channel or the NPCA channel.

[0100] The main channel is the channel through which the first device communicates with the second device. It can be the 20MHz channel that establishes the initial association between the first device and the second device, or it can be any other channel that includes the 20MHz channel for establishing the initial association between the first device and the second device, such as a 40MHz channel or an 80MHz channel, etc. There are no restrictions here.

[0101] The bandwidth of the DSO channel can be the same as that of the main channel, or it can be the operating bandwidth of the first device, such as 40MHz or 80MHz, without restriction. For example, if the first device is a STA with an operating bandwidth of 80MHz, the bandwidth of the DSO channel can be 20MHz for the STA to establish the initial association with the AP, or it can be the STA's operating bandwidth of 80MHz.

[0102] The channel bandwidth of the NPCA channel can be the same as that of the NPCA main channel, for example, both can be 20MHz bandwidth, or the channel bandwidth of the NPCA channel can be 40MHz or 80MHz, and cover the 20MHz bandwidth of the NPCA main channel.

[0103] S22, during the retransmission of the first data frame through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the first device increments the retransmission counter by 1 each time it retransmits the first data frame.

[0104] In this embodiment of the disclosure, when the first channel includes a main channel and the second channel includes a non-main channel accessing the main channel, the first device can switch between the main channel and the non-main channel accessing the main channel and retransmit the first data frame. Regardless of whether the first device accesses the main channel through the main channel or the non-main channel, the first device can increment the retransmission counter by 1 each time the first data frame is retransmitted.

[0105] That is, during the process of the first device retransmitting the first data frame through the main channel and non-main channels, the number of times the retransmission counter is counted is the total number of times the first device retransmits the first data frame through the main channel and non-main channels.

[0106] In this embodiment of the disclosure, when the first channel includes a main channel and the second channel includes a DSO channel, the first device can switch between the main channel and the DSO channel and retransmit the first data frame. Regardless of whether the first device retransmits the first data frame through the main channel or the DSO channel, the first device can increment the number of retransmission counters by 1 each time.

[0107] That is, during the process of the first device retransmitting the first data frame through the main channel and the DSO channel, the number of times the retransmission counter is counted is the total number of times the first device retransmits the first data frame through the main channel and the DSO channel.

[0108] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the traffic identifier (TID) corresponding to the first data frame is the same in each retransmission process.

[0109] That is, during the retransmission of the first data frame by the first device through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the traffic identifier of the first data frame remains unchanged regardless of whether it is retransmitted through the first channel or the second channel. In other words, the TID of the first data frame remains unchanged throughout the entire retransmission process.

[0110] As an example, if a first device retransmits a first data frame through a first channel for the first time and then retransmits the first data frame through a second channel for the second time, then the TID of the first data frame is the same in the first and second retransmission processes.

[0111] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the sequence number SN corresponding to the first data frame is the same in each retransmission process.

[0112] That is, during the retransmission of the first data frame by the first device through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the SN of the first data frame remains unchanged regardless of whether it is retransmitted through the first channel or the second channel. In other words, the SN of the first data frame remains unchanged throughout the entire retransmission process.

[0113] As an example, if a first device retransmits a first data frame through a first channel for the first time and then retransmits the first data frame through a second channel for the second time, then the SN of the first data frame is the same in the first and second retransmission processes.

[0114] In this embodiment of the disclosure, when the first data frame is a data frame based on a single MSDU encapsulation, the transmission timer and lifetime of the MSDU remain in a continuous real-time state during the expulsion of the first data frame.

[0115] That is, when the first data frame is transmitted for the first time, the transmission timer and lifetime of the corresponding MSDU start counting. During the process of the first device retransmitting the first data frame through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the transmission timer and generation time of the MSDU continue to count regardless of whether the first data frame is retransmitted in the first channel or the second channel, and are independent of the channel change during the retransmission of the first data frame.

[0116] As an example, the first device sends the first data frame for the first time through the first channel and retransmits it multiple times through the first channel and the second channel. The transmission timer and lifetime of the MSDU remain in a continuous timing state during the retransmission process and will not be reset due to the channel change of the retransmission of the first data frame.

[0117] In this embodiment of the disclosure, when the first data frame is a data frame encapsulated based on A-MSDU (containing multiple MSDU subframes), the transmission timer and lifetime of the A-MSDU remain in a continuous real-time state during the expulsion of the first data frame.

[0118] That is, when the first data frame is transmitted for the first time, the transmission timer and lifetime of the corresponding A-MSDU start counting. During the process of the first device retransmitting the first data frame through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the transmission timer and generation time of the A-MSDU continue to count regardless of whether the first data frame is retransmitted in the first channel or the second channel, and are independent of the channel change during the retransmission of the first data frame.

[0119] As an example, the first device sends the first data frame for the first time through the first channel and retransmits it multiple times through the first channel and the second channel. The transmission timer and lifetime of the A-MSDU remain in a continuous timing state during the retransmission process and will not be reset due to the channel change of the retransmission of the first data frame.

[0120] S23, the first device transmits data frames of the same service flow through at least one of the first channel or the second channel.

[0121] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the first device can send data frames of the same service flow through the main channel, or through a non-main channel accessing the main channel to send data frames of the same service flow, or switch between the main channel and the non-main channel accessing the main channel to send data frames of the same service flow, that is, send part of the data frames of the same service flow through one of the channels.

[0122] Optionally, the first device can send data frames of the same service flow through the main channel, or through the DSO channel, or switch between the main channel and the DSO channel to send data frames of the same service flow, that is, send a portion of the data frames of the same service flow through one of the channels.

[0123] In this embodiment of the disclosure, when the first device transmits data frames of the same service flow through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, the SNs of the data frames of the same service flow belong to the same sequence number space (SNS).

[0124] As an example, when the first device transmits data frames of the same service flow through the first channel or the second channel, the SNs of the data frames of the same service flow belong to the same SNS.

[0125] As an example, when the first device transmits data frames of the same service flow through the first channel and the second channel, the SNs of the data frames of the same service flow belong to the same SNS. That is, under the NPCA mechanism, the SNs of the data frames of the same service flow transmitted by the first device through the main channel and non-main channel accessing the main channel belong to the same SNS, and the SNs of different data frames are ordered according to the transmission order; under the DSO mechanism, the SNs of the data frames of the same service flow transmitted by the first device through the main channel and the DSO channel belong to the same SNS, and the SNs of different data frames are ordered according to the transmission order.

[0126] In the process of the first device transmitting data frames of the same service flow through the first channel and the second channel, the first device, as the transmitter, can define a new sequence number space identifier (SNS Identifier) or reuse an existing sequence number space identifier to allocate the SN of the data frames of the same service flow transmitted through the first channel and the second channel within the SNS corresponding to the sequence number space identifier.

[0127] For example, the first device can allocate the SN of unicast data frames of the same service flow transmitted on the first and second channels through SNS12, or reuse the existing SNS2 to allocate the SN of unicast data frames of the same service flow transmitted on the first and second channels.

[0128] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the first device can receive data frames of the same service stream through the main channel, or through a non-main channel to access the main channel to receive data frames of the same service stream, or switch between the main channel and the non-main channel to access the main channel to receive data frames of the same service stream, that is, receive a portion of the data frames of the same service stream through one of the channels.

[0129] Optionally, the first device can receive data frames of the same service stream through the main channel, or through the DSO channel, or switch between the main channel and the DSO channel to receive data frames of the same service stream, that is, receive a portion of the data frames of the same service stream through one of the channels.

[0130] In this embodiment of the disclosure, when the first device receives data frames of the same service stream through at least one of the first channel or the second channel, it can receive data frames of the same service stream through the same receiver cache (RC).

[0131] As an example, under the NPCA mechanism, the first device can receive data frames of the same service stream transmitted through the main channel and non-main channel via the main channel through the same receiver buffer. Under the DSO mechanism, the first device can receive data frames of the same service stream transmitted through the main channel and DSO channel through the same receiver buffer.

[0132] In the process of receiving data frames of the same service flow transmitted through the first channel and the second channel, the first device, as the receiving end, can define a new receiving end buffer or reuse an existing receiving end buffer to receive data frames of the same service flow transmitted through the first channel and the second channel through the receiving end buffer.

[0133] For example, the first device can receive unicast data frames of the same service stream transmitted through the first and second channels via RC19 (a newly defined receiver buffer), or reuse the existing RC2 to receive unicast data frames of the same service stream transmitted through the first and second channels.

[0134] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the first device can determine whether the second channel is idle by energy detection (ED).

[0135] If the second channel is determined to be idle, the first device accesses the second channel using the same Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) parameters as the first channel (primary channel) or the Multi-User Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (MU-EDCA) parameters.

[0136] If the second channel is determined to be busy and a random backoff number is generated through energy detection, the first device can switch back to the first channel (main channel) and discard the random backoff number.

[0137] For example, if the DSO channel is determined to be idle, the first device can access the DSO channel using the same EDCA parameters as the first channel (main channel) or multiple MU-EDCA parameters. If energy detection determines that the DSO channel is busy and generates random backoff numbers, the first device can switch back to the first channel (main channel) and discard the random backoff numbers.

[0138] The DSO mechanism can include multiple DSO channels, and the first device can access any idle DSO channel to transmit data frames.

[0139] For example, if it is determined that the non-primary channel accessing the primary channel is idle, the first device accesses the primary channel using the same EDCA parameters as the primary channel or multiple MU-EDCA parameters. If it is determined through energy detection that the primary channel accessing the non-primary channel is busy and generates random backoff numbers, the first device can switch back to the primary channel and discard the random backoff numbers.

[0140] The communication parameter processing method involved in the embodiments of this disclosure may include the foregoing steps and at least one of the embodiments. For example, S21 may be implemented as an independent embodiment, S22 may be implemented as an independent embodiment, S23 may be implemented as an independent embodiment, and any combination of steps S21 and S23 may be implemented as an independent embodiment, but is not limited thereto.

[0141] The communication parameter processing method provided in this disclosure will be further explained below with reference to specific examples.

[0142] In the NPCA mechanism, the SN allocation for QoS data frames is performed within the NPCA primary and primary channels. Under the DSO mechanism, the SN allocation for QoS data frames is performed within the DSOChannel and primary channel. During SN allocation, the data frame's SN must be allocated within the same SNS. For example, for the transmitter, a new SNS Identifier is defined; for instance, QoS unicast data frames can have their SN allocated using SNS12, or the existing SNS2 can be reused. For the receiver, a new receive buffer identifier is defined; for example, a newly defined RC19 (receiver cache) can be used, or the existing RC2 can be reused to receive data frames transmitted from the NPCA primary and primary channels, or to receive data frames transmitted from the DSOChannel and primary channel.

[0143] For QoS data frames, regardless of whether there is BA feedback, retransmitted QoS data frames have the same SN, regardless of the channel.

[0144] For QoS data frames that do not require BA acknowledgment, they may be transmitted multiple times in the NPCA primary channel and / or primary channel, or in the DSOChannel and / or primary channel. Therefore, the retransmission counter for the retransmitted data frame needs to consider the number of transmissions on both channels; that is, the retransmission counter increments by 1 for each retransmission, while the corresponding TID and SN remain unchanged. For the MSDU's transmission timer and lifetime, regardless of the channel used for transmission, the timer continues to run on both channels after it starts, i.e., it is maintained uniformly. For A-MSDU, its transmission timer and lifetime also continue to run on both channels during retransmission, i.e., it is maintained uniformly.

[0145] Under the DSO mechanism, communication devices may perform ED sensing in the DSO channel. When the channel is determined to be idle, the same EDCA parameters or MU-EDCA parameters as in the main channel are used to access the DSO channel. If the channel is detected to be busy in the DSO channel and a random backoff number is generated, the communication device must discard the generated random backoff number when switching back to the main channel.
