Abstract
Description
Display panel and display device Technical Field
[0001] This application relates to the field of display technology, and in particular to a display panel and display device. Background Technology
[0002] A display panel is a device used to display images and text.
[0003] Display panels typically integrate a touch layer, on which touch signals are loaded. These touch signals are susceptible to coupling with display signals loaded on the driver backplane, potentially affecting the display's performance. To minimize the impact of touch signals on display signals, cathode shielding is commonly used.
[0004] However, the partition structure in the display panel will block the cathode layer, resulting in poor shielding of touch signals, which in turn leads to poor display quality. Summary of the Invention

[0062] Because the partition structure blocks the film layer in the light-emitting device, the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer at the partition structure is prone to coupling with the display signal loaded on the driving backplane. This application addresses this by ensuring that the orthographic projection of at least a portion of the partition structure on the driving backplane does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer on the driving backplane. This prevents the touch signal at at least a portion of the partition structure from affecting the display signal, thereby improving the display effect. Attached Figure Description

[0094] The accompanying drawings illustrate specific embodiments of this application, which will be described in more detail below. These drawings and descriptions are not intended to limit the scope of the concept in any way, but rather to illustrate the concept of this application to those skilled in the art through reference to particular embodiments. Detailed Implementation
[0095] To make the objectives, technical solutions, and advantages of this application clearer, the embodiments of this application will be described in further detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0096] Please refer to Figures 1 and 2. Figure 1 is a partial top view of a display panel provided by related technology, and Figure 2 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 1 along line A1-A1. The display panel 20 includes a driving backplate 21 and multiple light-emitting devices 22. Lateral carrier transport can easily occur between adjacent light-emitting devices 22, leading to crosstalk problems. Crosstalk refers to the problem where light-emitting devices 22 that should not emit light are lit due to lateral carrier transport. Especially for tandem display panels, where the light-emitting devices 22 include multiple light-emitting layers and a highly conductive charge-generating layer, the probability of crosstalk between adjacent light-emitting devices 22 increases.
[0097] Some related technologies incorporate isolation structures to prevent crosstalk. Please refer to Figures 3 and 4. Figure 3 is a partial top view of another display panel provided by the related technology, and Figure 4 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel shown in Figure 3 along line A2-A2. This display panel 20 includes: a driving backplate 21, a first touch electrode layer 24, multiple light-emitting devices 22, and multiple isolation structures 23. The light-emitting portion 232 and the cathode 233 of two adjacent light-emitting devices 22 are separated by the isolation structure 23 located between them. This blocks the path of lateral charge carrier transport, achieving the effect of preventing crosstalk.
[0098] However, the partition structure 23 also causes gaps in the cathode 233. At the partition structure 23, the gaps in the cathode 233 can cause the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer 24 to easily couple with the display signal loaded on the pixel driving circuit 211 in the driving back panel 21, thereby affecting the display effect of the display panel 20.
[0099] This application provides a display panel. Please refer to Figures 5 and 6. Figure 5 is a partial top view of the display panel provided in this application embodiment, and Figure 6 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 5 along line A3-A3. The display panel 10 includes: a driving backplate 11, a first touch electrode layer 14, multiple light-emitting devices 12, and multiple partition structures 13.
[0100] The display panel 10 provided in this embodiment can be an Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display panel. OLED display panels have the characteristics of self-illumination, wide viewing angle, wide color gamut, thinness, and flexibility, and can be applied to various display fields. For example, the display panel 10 provided in this embodiment can be a tandem OLED display panel, that is, multiple light-emitting layers are electrically connected in series through a charge generation layer. The multiple light-emitting layers connected in series can emit light together, thus the tandem OLED display panel can achieve advantages such as high brightness, long lifespan, and low power consumption.
[0101] The driving backplate 11 is used to support other film layers in the display panel 10. The driving backplate 11 may include a substrate and a pixel driving circuit located on the substrate. The pixel driving circuit is loaded with display signals, thereby enabling the driving backplate 11 to drive the light-emitting device 12 to emit light. Exemplarily, the substrate may be a flexible substrate or a rigid substrate, and the embodiments of this application are not limited thereto.
[0102] Multiple light-emitting devices 12 and multiple partition structures 13 are located on one side of the driving backplate 11. Here, the light-emitting devices 12 are used to emit light beams in a direction away from the driving backplate 11. The multiple light-emitting devices 12 can be arranged in an array on the driving backplate 11. The multiple light-emitting devices 12 can be electrically connected to the pixel driving circuit in the driving backplate 11, so the driving backplate 11 can control the light-emitting state and brightness of the multiple light-emitting devices 12. The light-emitting device 12 may include: a first electrode 121, a light-emitting part 122, and a second electrode 123 stacked together. The first electrode 121 and the second electrode 122 cooperate to drive the light-emitting part 122 to emit light. The first electrode 121 can be an anode, and the second electrode 122 can be a cathode. The light-emitting part 122 may include at least one light-emitting layer.
[0103] The orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive backplate 11 lies between the orthographic projections of two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 on the drive backplate 11. The light-emitting portions 122 of the two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 are separated by the partition structure 13 located between them. Here, the separation of the light-emitting portions 122 of the two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 can effectively block the path of transverse carrier transport, thereby preventing crosstalk. Furthermore, the second electrodes 122 of the two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 are also separated by the partition structure 13 located between them.
[0104] It should be noted that Figure 4 uses the partition structure 13 as an example of a partition groove, but the structure of the partition structure 13 in this embodiment is not limited to this. For example, the partition structure 13 can also be other undercut structures.
[0105] The first touch electrode layer 14 is located on the side of the plurality of light-emitting devices 12 facing away from the driving backplate 11. Here, the first touch electrode layer 14 can be a mesh-like metal electrode layer. The orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the driving backplate 11 does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the plurality of light-emitting devices 12 on the driving backplate 11. Therefore, even if the material of the first touch electrode layer 14 is an opaque metal material, it can be ensured that the first touch electrode layer 14 will not block the light-emitting devices 12, so that the light emitted by the light-emitting devices 12 can be transmitted, thereby ensuring that the display panel 10 can display images normally.
[0106] In this configuration, at least a portion of the partition structure 13's orthographic projection on the drive back plate 11 does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the drive back plate 11. Thus, since the first touch electrode layer 14 is not located at this at least portion of the partition structure 13, there is no possibility of touch signals interfering with the display signal through the gaps in the second electrode 123 at this at least portion of the partition structure 13. This reduces the risk of coupling between the touch signal and the display signal, thereby improving the display effect.
[0107] In summary, this application provides a display panel. Because the partition structure blocks the film layer in the light-emitting device, the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer at the partition structure is prone to coupling with the display signal loaded on the driving backplane. This application, by ensuring that the orthographic projection of at least a portion of the partition structure on the driving backplane does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer on the driving backplane, can prevent the touch signal at at least a portion of the partition structure from affecting the display signal, thereby improving the display effect.
[0108] Optionally, please refer to Figure 7, which is a partial top view of another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application. The first touch electrode layer 14 has a plurality of first mesh holes K1, which correspond to a plurality of light-emitting devices 12. The orthographic projection of the light-emitting device 12 on the driving back plate 11 is located within the orthographic projection of the corresponding first mesh hole K1 on the driving back plate 11. That is, the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the driving back plate 11 and the orthographic projection of the light-emitting device 12 on the driving back plate 11 do not coincide. This ensures that the light emitted by the light-emitting device 12 can be transmitted through the corresponding first mesh hole K1 in the first touch electrode layer 14, thereby ensuring that the display panel 10 can display images normally.
[0109] In this case, the orthographic projection of the first mesh hole K1 on the drive back plate 11 overlaps the orthographic projection of at least one partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11. This includes the following two situations:
[0110] One scenario involves a subset of the first mesh holes K1 such that the orthographic projection of the first mesh hole K1 onto the drive backplate 11 overlaps the orthographic projection of at least one partition structure 13 onto the drive backplate 11. In this case, interference of the touch signal loaded by the touch line segment corresponding to this subset of the first mesh holes K1 on the display signal can be avoided.
[0111] Another scenario is that for each of the first mesh holes K1, the orthographic projection of the first mesh hole K1 on the driving back plate 11 covers the orthographic projection of at least one partition structure 13 on the driving back plate 11. In this case, interference of the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer 14 to the display signal can be avoided.
[0112] In the embodiments of this application, various implementation methods can be used to ensure that at least part of the partition structure does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer.
[0113] In a first possible implementation, referring to Figure 7, the first touch electrode layer 14 includes: a plurality of touch segments 142, which form a plurality of first mesh holes K1. The plurality of touch segments 142 correspond to a plurality of partition structures 13, and the overall extension direction of the touch segments 142 is parallel to the overall extension direction of the corresponding partition structure 13. For example, the plurality of touch segments 142 includes: a first touch segment 142a extending along a first direction X1, and a second touch segment 142b extending along a second direction X2, where the first direction X1 and the second direction X2 intersect. The overall extension direction of the partition structure 13 corresponding to the first touch segment 142a is parallel to the first direction X1, and the overall extension direction of the second touch segment 142b and its corresponding partition structure 13 is parallel to the second direction X2. Here, the overall extension direction of the partition structure 13 can refer to the extension direction of the main body of the partition structure 13. That is, it is not strictly required that the shape of the partition structure 13 be a standard rectangle. The ends of the partition structure 13 can be bent so that the shape of the partition structure 13 matches the rounded corners of the light-emitting device 12, thereby improving the uniformity of the partition structure 13's partitioning effect on the light-emitting device 12.
[0114] At least a portion of the touch line segments 142 are arranged adjacent to the corresponding partition structure 13, such that the orthographic projection of at least a portion of the touch line segments 142 on the driving back plate 11 does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the corresponding partition structure 13 on the driving back plate 11. That is, the orthographic projection of the touch line segments 142 on the driving back plate 11 is located between the orthographic projection of the corresponding partition structure 13 on the driving back plate 11 and the orthographic projection of the adjacent light-emitting device 12 on the driving back plate 11. This allows the position of the first touch electrode layer 14 to be offset from the position of the partition structure 13. Consequently, the second electrode 123 in the light-emitting device 12 at the position corresponding to the first touch electrode layer 14 is continuous. Therefore, the second electrode 123 can shield the touch signal, thereby preventing the touch signal from affecting the display effect.
[0115] It should be noted that in the display panel shown in Figure 7, the orthographic projection of each first grid hole K1 on the drive back plate 11 covers the orthographic projection of the two partition structures 13 on the drive back plate 11. This facilitates manufacturing, but the embodiments of this application are not limited to this. By setting the position of the touch line segment 142, the number of partition structures 13 covered by the first grid hole K1 can be adjusted. The number can range from 0 to 4, so the number of partition structures 13 covered by each first grid hole K1 can also be different.
[0116] In the second possible implementation, please refer to Figure 8, which is a partial top view of another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application. The plurality of first mesh holes K1 include: a plurality of first-type mesh holes K11, each first-type mesh hole K11 corresponding to at least two light-emitting devices 12. The orthographic projection of the first-type mesh hole K11 on the driving backplate 11 covers the orthographic projections of the corresponding at least two light-emitting devices 12 on the driving backplate 11, and also covers the orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 between the corresponding at least two light-emitting devices 12 on the driving backplate 11. That is, the touch line segment 142 at the position corresponding to the partition structure 13 covered by the first-type mesh hole K11 is removed. This also ensures that the orthographic projection of this partition structure 13 on the driving backplate 11 does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the driving backplate 11, thereby reducing the risk of coupling between touch signals and display signals, and thus preventing touch signals from affecting the display effect.
[0117] In the third possible implementation, please refer to Figure 9, which is a partial top view of another display panel provided in the embodiment of this application. The display panel 10 further includes: a plurality of first virtual line segments 151, which are disposed in the same layer as the first touch electrode layer 14 and are made of the same material, and the plurality of first virtual line segments 151 are disconnected from the first touch electrode layer 14.
[0118] In this configuration, multiple first virtual line segments 151 correspond to multiple first type of mesh holes K11, with each first virtual line segment 151 located within its corresponding first type of mesh hole K11. That is, the touch line segment 142 at the position corresponding to the partition structure 13 covered by the first type of mesh hole K11 is replaced with the first virtual line segment 151. This ensures that the orthographic projection of this partition structure 13 on the driving backplate 11 does not coincide with the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the driving backplate 11. Furthermore, since the first virtual line segment 151 does not receive touch signals, the risk of coupling between touch signals and display signals is reduced, thereby preventing touch signals from affecting the display effect.
[0119] For the first virtual line segment 151 corresponding to the same first type of mesh hole K11, and the partition structure 13 between at least two light-emitting devices 12 corresponding to the same first type of mesh hole K11, the orthographic projection of the first virtual line segment 151 on the driving back plate 11 overlaps with the orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the driving back plate 11. This allows for adaptation to situations where the distance between adjacent light-emitting devices 12 is small, avoiding insufficient space to accommodate the first virtual line segment 151. Of course, when there is sufficient space between adjacent light-emitting devices 12, the first virtual line segment 151 can also be arranged adjacent to the partition structure 13.
[0120] Optionally, for any one of the first mesh holes K1 and the first virtual line segment 151 corresponding to the first mesh hole K1, the mesh electrode in the first touch electrode layer 14 used to form the first mesh hole K1 is disconnected from the first virtual line segment 151. For example, the mesh electrode may include: two oppositely arranged first touch line segments 142a and two oppositely arranged second touch line segments 142b, both of which are disconnected from the first virtual line segment 151. The extension direction of the first touch line segment 142a is parallel to the first direction X1, the extension direction of the second touch line segment 142b is parallel to the second direction X2, and the extension direction of the first virtual line segment 151 may be parallel to the first direction X1 and / or the second direction X2.
[0121] Optionally, please refer to Figure 10, which is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 9 at A4-A4. The display panel 10 also includes: an auxiliary connection line 152, which is located on the side of the first touch electrode layer 14 close to the driving back plate 11, or the auxiliary connection line 152 is located on the side of the first touch electrode layer 14 away from the driving back plate 11.
[0122] The auxiliary connection line 152 is connected to at least a portion of the first virtual line segment 151, and is used to connect a signal at a fixed potential. Connecting at least a portion of the first virtual line segment 151 together via the auxiliary connection line 152 reduces the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) on this portion of the first virtual line segment 151, and the fixed potential signal connected to the auxiliary connection line 152 has less impact on the display signal compared to the touch signal. For example, the auxiliary connection line 152 can connect to a first power signal (VSS) or a second power signal (VDD) in a non-display area. Alternatively, the auxiliary connection line 152 may not connect to any signal.
[0123] Optionally, the orthographic projection of the auxiliary connection line 152 on the drive back plate 11 may not coincide with the orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11, so that the signal with the fixed potential connected to the auxiliary connection line 152 will not interfere with the display signal.
[0124] It should be noted that each of the first virtual segments 151 can be connected to the same auxiliary connecting line 152. Alternatively, multiple first virtual segments 151 can be divided into multiple groups of virtual segments 151, with the same group of virtual segments 151 connected to the same auxiliary connecting line 152.
[0125] Optionally, please refer to Figures 11, 12, and 26. Figure 11 is a partial top view of another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application. Figure 12 is a partially enlarged schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 10 at point B1. Figure 26 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 12 at point A8-A8. The display panel 10 further includes a second touch electrode layer 17, which is stacked with the first touch electrode layer 14. That is, as shown in Figure 26, the second touch electrode layer 17 can be located on the side of the first touch electrode layer 14 near the driving back plate 11, or the second touch electrode layer 17 can be located on the side of the first touch electrode layer 14 away from the driving back plate 11.
[0126] The first touch electrode layer 14 includes a plurality of touch electrodes 141, each touch electrode 141 being composed of a plurality of grid electrodes. The plurality of touch electrodes 141 may include a plurality of first touch electrodes 141a and a plurality of second touch electrodes 141b, both arranged in rows and columns. One of the first touch electrodes 141a and the second touch electrodes 141b is a touch driving electrode, and the other is a touch sensing electrode. Touch functionality can be achieved through the interaction of the first touch electrodes 141a and the second touch electrodes 141b.
[0127] The display panel 10 further includes a plurality of first bridging electrodes and a plurality of second bridging electrodes. The first bridging electrodes are used to electrically connect two first touch electrodes 141a arranged adjacently in the row direction, and the second bridging electrodes are used to electrically connect two second touch electrodes 141b arranged adjacently in the column direction. The first bridging electrodes and the second bridging electrodes have overlapping positions. To avoid short circuits at the overlapping positions of the first touch electrodes 141a and the second touch electrodes 141b, one of the first bridging electrodes and the second bridging electrode can be disposed in the same layer and made of the same material as the first touch electrodes 141a and the second touch electrodes 141b, that is, disposed in the first touch electrode layer 14. The other, at least a portion of which is disposed in the overlapping position, can be disposed in a different layer from the first touch electrodes 141a and the second touch electrodes 141b, that is, disposed in the second touch electrode layer 17.
[0128] The display panel 10 may further include an encapsulation layer 182 and a touch insulating layer 183. The encapsulation layer 182 is located on the side of the light-emitting device 12 facing away from the driving backplate 11. The encapsulation layer 182 can encapsulate multiple light-emitting devices 12 to prevent them from failing to emit light due to contact with moisture. For example, the encapsulation layer 182 may include a first inorganic encapsulation layer, an organic encapsulation layer, and a second inorganic encapsulation layer stacked together. The second touch electrode layer 17 may be located on the side of the encapsulation layer 182 facing away from the driving backplate 11, but this embodiment is not limited to this; the second touch electrode layer 17 and the first touch electrode layer 14 may also be integrated into the encapsulation layer 182.
[0129] A touch insulating layer 183 is located between the second touch electrode layer 17 and the first touch electrode layer 14. The touch insulating layer 183 provides insulation between the two layers, preventing short circuits. The touch insulating layer 183 has multiple vias. For example, at the first or second bridging electrode, the second touch electrode layer 17 and the first touch electrode layer 14 are connected through these vias.
[0130] In this design, the auxiliary connection line 152 is disposed in the same layer as the second touch electrode layer 17 and is made of the same material, but the auxiliary connection line 152 is disconnected from the second touch electrode layer 17. Thus, the auxiliary connection line 152 and the second touch electrode layer 17 can be formed in the same patterning process, thereby saving process steps. The patterning process involved in this application may include: photoresist coating, exposure, development, etching, and photoresist stripping.
[0131] Optionally, referring to Figures 8, 9 and 11, the plurality of first mesh holes K1 further includes: a plurality of second type mesh holes K12, one second type mesh hole K12 corresponds to one light-emitting device 12, and the orthographic projection of the second type mesh hole K12 on the driving back plate 11 covers the orthographic projection of the corresponding light-emitting device 12 on the driving back plate 11.
[0132] The first touch electrode layer 14 includes a plurality of touch electrodes 141, wherein the touch electrodes 141 are block electrodes having a plurality of first grid holes K1. For example, the touch electrodes 141 can be touch driving electrodes or touch sensing electrodes.
[0133] The touch electrode 141 has a main region Q1 and an edge region Q2 surrounding the main region Q1. Here, the capacitance of the touch electrode 141 is related to its size; therefore, to ensure minimal capacitance variation, it is necessary to ensure high integrity of the touch electrode 141 in the edge region Q2. Since the grid electrode corresponding to the first type of grid hole K11 has removed part of the touch line segment 142, or replaced part of the touch line segment 142 with the first virtual line segment 151, the integrity of the grid electrode corresponding to the first type of grid hole K11 is lower than that of the grid electrode corresponding to the second type of grid hole K12.
[0134] The first type of mesh holes K11 are distributed within the main region Q1 and outside the edge region Q2. The second type of mesh holes K12 are distributed at least within the edge region Q2. This design minimizes the risk of touch signal interference with the display signal while ensuring minimal capacitance variation in the touch electrode 141.
[0135] It should be noted that the embodiments of this application may adopt at least one of the above three implementation methods. That is, the above three implementation methods may be implemented individually, or any two implementation methods may be combined, or all three implementation methods may be combined.
[0136] In this application, for a portion of the multiple first mesh holes K1, where the orthographic projection of the first mesh hole K1 on the drive back plate 11 covers the orthographic projection of at least one partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11, the display panel 10 also faces the risk of touch signal interference with the display signal.
[0137] Optionally, please refer to Figure 13, which is a partial top view of another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application. The plurality of partition structures 13 include: a plurality of first-type partition structures 13a and a plurality of second-type partition structures 13b. The plurality of touch segments 142 include: a plurality of first-type touch segments 1421 and a plurality of second-type touch segments 1422.
[0138] Multiple first-type isolation structures 13a correspond to multiple first-type touch segments 1421, and the orthographic projection of the first-type isolation structure 13a on the driving backplate 11 overlaps with the corresponding first-type touch segment 1421. That is, the first-type isolation structure 13a can be the isolation structure 13 covered by the first touch electrode layer 14, and the touch signal loaded on the first-type touch segment 1421 may interfere with the display signal.
[0139] Multiple second-type partition structures 13b correspond to multiple second-type touch segments 1422. The orthographic projection of the second-type partition structure 13b on the drive backplate 11 does not coincide with the corresponding second-type touch segment 1422. That is, the second-type partition structure 13b can be the partition structure 13 covered by the first-type mesh hole K11, and there is no risk of the touch signal loaded on the second-type touch segment 1422 interfering with the display signal.
[0140] It should be noted that Figure 13 illustrates the first implementation in which the orthographic projections of the partial partition structure 13 and the first touch electrode layer 14 do not coincide, but this application is not limited to this. For the second implementation, the second type of partition structure 13b can be the partition structure 13 covered by the first type of mesh hole K11, in which case the second type of touch line segment 1422 corresponding to the second type of partition structure 13b has been removed. The first type of partition structure 13a and the first type of touch line segment 1421 in this implementation can be referred to the embodiment shown in Figure 13, and will not be elaborated further here. For the third implementation, the second type of partition structure 13b can be the partition structure 13 covered by the first type of mesh hole K11, in which case the second type of touch line segment 1422 corresponding to the second type of partition structure 13b has been replaced by the first virtual line segment 151. The first type of partition structure 13a and the first type of touch line segment 1421 in this implementation can be referred to the embodiment shown in Figure 13, and will not be elaborated further here.
[0141] Therefore, for multiple first-type partition structures, embodiments of this application can employ shielding structures to further reduce the risk of interference. An exemplary embodiment is described below:
[0142] Optionally, the display panel 10 further includes a shielding structure 16, located between the driving backplate 11 and the first touch electrode layer 14, wherein the orthographic projections of the plurality of first-type isolation structures 13a on the driving backplate 11 overlap with the orthographic projections of the shielding structure 16 on the driving backplate 11. Here, the shielding structure 16 does not break at the plurality of first-type isolation structures 13a, thus the shielding structure 16 can shield the touch signals loaded on the first-type touch line segments 1421 corresponding to the first-type isolation structures 13a.
[0143] The orthographic projection of the multiple first-type partition structures 13a on the drive back plate 11 can also be located within the orthographic projection of the shielding structure 16 on the drive back plate 11, which can improve the shielding effect of the shielding structure 16 on the touch signal loaded on the first-type touch line segment 1421.
[0144] In this application embodiment, the shielding structure 16 can be positioned in various ways. Two exemplary embodiments are described below:
[0145] For a first exemplary embodiment, please refer to Figures 12, 13 and 14. Figure 14 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 13 at A5-A5. The display panel 10 further includes a second touch electrode layer 17, which is located on the side of the first touch electrode layer 14 near the driving back plate 11.
[0146] The shielding structure 16 and the second touch electrode layer 17 are disposed in the same layer and made of the same material, and the shielding structure 16 and the second touch electrode layer 17 are disconnected. In this way, the shielding structure 16 and the second touch electrode layer 17 can be formed in the same patterning process, thereby saving process.
[0147] Optionally, please refer to Figures 15 and 16. Figure 15 is a partial top view of another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application, and Figure 16 is a partial top view of a shielding structure in the display panel provided in Figure 15. The shielding structure 16 includes at least a plurality of first shielding segments 161, which correspond to a plurality of first-type touch segments 1421. The orthographic projection of the first-type touch segments 1421 on the driving backplate 11 is located within the orthographic projection of the corresponding first shielding segment 161 on the driving backplate 11. Here, the plurality of first shielding segments 161 can shield the touch signals loaded on the first-type touch segments 1421. The plurality of first shielding segments 161 can be separate structures or integrated structures connected together; this embodiment of the application does not limit this.
[0148] Optionally, the shielding structure 16 further includes: a plurality of second shielding segments 162, the plurality of second shielding segments 162 corresponding to a plurality of second type touch segments 1422, and the orthographic projection of the second type touch segments 1422 on the driving backplate 11 is located within the orthographic projection of the corresponding second shielding segments 162 on the driving backplate 11.
[0149] The multiple second shielding segments 162 and the multiple first shielding segments 161 are used to form multiple second grid holes K2. That is, the multiple second shielding segments 162 and the multiple first shielding segments 161 are connected together, which can reduce the risk of electrostatic breakdown.
[0150] At least a portion of the second mesh holes K2 correspond to at least a portion of the first mesh holes K1, and the orthographic projection of the second mesh hole K2 on the drive backplate 11 lies within the orthographic projection of the corresponding first mesh hole K1 on the drive backplate 11. That is, the widths of the second shielding segment 162 and the first shielding segment 161 can be greater than or equal to the width of the touch segment in the first touch electrode layer 14, thereby ensuring that the shielding structure 16 can achieve a shielding effect. Furthermore, since the shielding structure 16 is disposed on the same layer as the second touch electrode layer 17, to ensure that the shielding structure 16 is disconnected from the second touch electrode layer 17, no shielding structure 16 is provided in the area where the second touch electrode layer 17 is located. Therefore, the shielding structure 16 does not contain a second mesh hole K2 corresponding to the first mesh hole K1 in that area.
[0151] Optionally, the shielding structure 16 can be connected to a signal with a fixed potential in the non-display area to reduce the risk of electrostatic breakdown, such as a first power signal (VSS) or a second power signal (VDD). Compared to touch signals, the fixed potential signal connected to the shielding structure 16 has less impact on the display signal. Alternatively, the shielding structure 16 can be left unconnected to improve the stability of the display signal.
[0152] For a second exemplary embodiment, please refer to Figures 13 and 17. Figure 17 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the display panel shown in Figure 13 along line A5-A5. The light-emitting device 12 further includes a first electrode 121 and a second electrode 123. The first electrode 121 is located on the side of the light-emitting part 122 near the driving back plate 11, and the second electrode 123 is located on the side of the light-emitting part 122 away from the driving back plate 11. The first electrode 121 and the second electrode 122 cooperate to drive the light-emitting part 122 to emit light. The first electrode 121 can be an anode, and the second electrode 122 can be a cathode.
[0153] The shielding structure 16 and the first electrode 121 are disposed in the same layer and are made of the same material. Thus, the shielding structure 16 and the first electrode 121 can be formed in the same patterning process, thereby saving process.
[0154] Optionally, please refer to Figure 18, which is a partial top view of a portion of the structure in another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application. The shielding structure 16 includes at least a plurality of third shielding segments 163, which correspond to a plurality of first-type partition structures 13a. The orthographic projection of the first-type partition structure 13a on the driving backplate 11 is located within the orthographic projection of the corresponding third shielding segment on the driving backplate 11. Here, the plurality of third shielding segments 163 can shield the touch signals loaded on the first-type touch segments 1421.
[0155] Optionally, multiple third shielding segments 163 correspond to at least a portion of the first electrodes 121, and the third shielding segments are electrically connected to their respective first electrodes 121. In this way, the third shielding segments 163 can receive electrical signals applied to their corresponding first electrodes 121, thus avoiding electrostatic discharge (ESD) problems. It should be noted that the third shielding segments 163 corresponding to different first electrodes 121 are disconnected to ensure that the multiple first electrodes 121 are controlled independently. Alternatively, the third shielding segments 163 can be separated from the first electrodes 121 to prevent signals applied to the third shielding segments 163 from affecting the display signals.
[0156] The partition structure in the display panel provided in this application embodiment can include various structural forms. The partition structure is described below with reference to three exemplary embodiments:
[0157] For the first type of partition structure, please refer to Figure 19. Figure 19 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the display panel provided in Figure 5 at point A3-A3. The driving backplate 11 includes: a substrate 111, a pixel driving circuit 112, a planarization layer 113, and an inorganic partition layer 114 stacked together. The pixel driving circuit 112 is electrically connected to the light-emitting device 12.
[0158] The display panel 10 further includes a pixel definition layer 181, which is located between the driving backplate 11 and the first touch electrode layer 14. The pixel definition layer 181 has a plurality of pixel openings K3, which correspond to a plurality of light-emitting devices 12. At least a portion of the light-emitting part 122 of the light-emitting device 12 is located in the corresponding pixel opening K3.
[0159] The partition structure 13 is a first partition groove 13a that penetrates the pixel definition layer 181, the inorganic partition layer 114, and at least part of the planarization layer 113. Specifically, in a direction parallel to the drive backplate 11, at least one side of the inorganic partition layer 114 at the first partition groove 13a protrudes beyond at least one side of the planarization layer 113 at the same location. That is, in a direction parallel to the drive backplate 11, the size of the opening in the inorganic partition layer 114 at the first partition groove 13a is smaller than the size of the opening in the planarization layer 113 at the same location. For example, at the first partition groove 13a, both sides of the inorganic partition layer 114 protrude beyond the sides of the planarization layer 113. This ensures that the light-emitting portion 122 and the second electrode 123 in the light-emitting device 12 are disconnected at the first partition groove 13a.
[0160] It should be noted that Figure 19 is only an example of one embodiment, but this application is not limited thereto. In addition to the embodiments shown in Figures 17 and 18 where the shielding structure 16 is arranged in the same layer as the first electrode 121, the first partition groove 13a can be applied to other embodiments described above, which will not be elaborated here.
[0161] For the second type of partition structure, please refer to Figure 17. The display panel 10 also includes a pixel definition layer 181, which is located between the driving back plate 11 and the first touch electrode layer 14. The pixel definition layer 181 has a plurality of pixel openings K3, which correspond to a plurality of light-emitting devices 12. At least a portion of the light-emitting part 122 of the light-emitting device 12 is located in the corresponding pixel opening K3.
[0162] The partition structure 13 is located on the side of the pixel definition layer 181 facing away from the driving backplate 11 in the direction perpendicular to the driving backplate 11. In the direction parallel to the driving backplate 11, the dimension of the partition structure 13 on the side facing away from the driving backplate 11 is larger than the dimension of the partition structure 13 on the side close to the driving backplate 11. That is, the partition structure 13 can be an undercut structure 13b with an inverted trapezoidal cross-section.
[0163] It should be noted that Figure 17 is only an example of one embodiment, but this application is not limited thereto. The undercut structure 13b can be applied to the various embodiments described above, and will not be elaborated further here.
[0164] Please refer to Figure 20 for the third type of partition structure. Figure 20 is another cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 5 at A3-A3.
[0165] The partition structure 13 is a second partition groove 13c that penetrates at least the pixel definition layer 181. In the direction perpendicular to the driving backplate 11, the depth of the second partition groove 13c is less than or equal to the thickness of the pixel definition layer 181. In the direction parallel to the driving backplate 11, the dimension of the side of the second partition groove 13c away from the driving backplate 11 is greater than the dimension of the side of the second partition groove 13c close to the driving backplate 11. This ensures that the light-emitting part 122 and the second electrode 123 in the light-emitting device 12 are disconnected at the second partition groove 13c.
[0166] For example, the pixel definition layer 181 may include multiple sub-layers stacked together, with different etching rates for the multiple sub-layers. For example, the etching rate of the sub-layer closer to the driving backplate 11 is greater than the etching rate of the sub-layer further away from the driving backplate 11, so that the second partition groove 13c can be formed.
[0167] It should be noted that Figure 20 is only an example of one embodiment, but this application is not limited thereto. The second partition groove 13c can be applied to the various embodiments described above, and will not be elaborated further here.
[0168] In summary, this application provides a display panel.
[0169] This application provides another display panel. Please refer to Figures 21 and 22. Figure 21 is a partial top view of the other display panel provided in this application embodiment, and Figure 22 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 21 along line A6-A6. The display panel 10 includes: a driving backplate 11, a first touch electrode layer 14, a shielding structure 16, multiple light-emitting devices 12, and multiple partition structures 13.
[0170] Multiple light-emitting devices 12 and multiple partition structures 13 are located on one side of the drive back plate 11. The orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11 lies between the orthographic projections of two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 on the drive back plate 11. The light-emitting portions 122 of two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 are separated by the partition structure 13 located between them.
[0171] The first touch electrode layer 14 is located on the side of the plurality of light-emitting devices 12 away from the driving backplate 11.
[0172] The shielding structure 16 is located between the drive backplate 11 and the first touch electrode layer 14.
[0173] Among them, the orthographic projection of the multiple partition structures 13 on the drive back plate 11 is located within the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the drive back plate 11, and the orthographic projection of the multiple partition structures 13 on the drive back plate 11 overlaps with the orthographic projection of the shielding structure 16 on the drive back plate 11.
[0174] In summary, this application provides a display panel. Because the partition structure blocks the film layer in the light-emitting device, the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer at the partition structure is prone to coupling with the display signal loaded on the driving backplane. This application addresses this by providing a shielding structure located between the driving backplane and the first touch electrode layer, where the orthographic projections of multiple partition structures on the driving backplane overlap with the orthographic projection of the shielding structure on the driving backplane. This shielding structure can then shield the touch signal at the partition structure, further reducing the risk of coupling between the touch signal and the electrical signal in the driving backplane, thereby improving the display effect.
[0175] In this application embodiment, the shielding structure 16 can be positioned in various ways. Two exemplary embodiments are described below:
[0176] For a first exemplary embodiment, please refer to Figures 12 and 22. The display panel 10 further includes a second touch electrode layer 17, which is located on the side of the first touch electrode layer 14 near the drive backplate 11.
[0177] The shielding structure 16 and the second touch electrode layer 17 are disposed in the same layer and made of the same material, and the shielding structure 16 and the second touch electrode layer 17 are disconnected. In this way, the shielding structure 16 and the second touch electrode layer 17 can be formed in the same patterning process, thereby saving process.
[0178] Optionally, please refer to Figure 23, which is a partial top view of another display panel provided in an embodiment of this application. The first touch electrode layer 14 includes: a plurality of touch segments 142, which correspond to a plurality of partition structures 13, and the overall extension direction of the touch segments 142 is parallel to the overall extension direction of the corresponding partition structures 13. The shielding structure 16 includes at least: a plurality of first shielding segments 161, which correspond to at least a portion of the touch segments 142, and the orthographic projection of the touch segments 142 on the driving backplate is located within the orthographic projection of the corresponding first shielding segments 161 on the driving backplate 11. That is, the width of the first shielding segments 161 can be greater than or equal to the width of the touch segments 142 in the first touch electrode layer 14, thereby ensuring that the shielding structure 16 can achieve the shielding effect. Furthermore, since the shielding structure 16 is disposed on the same layer as the second touch electrode layer 17, in order to ensure that the shielding structure 16 is disconnected from the second touch electrode layer 17, no shielding structure 16 is disposed in the area where the second touch electrode layer 17 is located.
[0179] Optionally, multiple first shielding segments 161 are interconnected to reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge.
[0180] Optionally, the shielding structure 16 can be connected to a signal with a fixed potential in the non-display area to reduce the risk of electrostatic breakdown, such as a first power signal (VSS) or a second power signal (VDD). Compared to touch signals, the fixed potential signal connected to the shielding structure 16 has less impact on the display signal. Alternatively, the shielding structure 16 can be left unconnected to improve the stability of the display signal.
[0181] For a second exemplary embodiment, please refer to Figures 24 and 25. Figure 24 is a partial top view of another display panel provided in this application embodiment, and Figure 25 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 24 along line A7-A7.
[0182] The shielding structure 16 and the first electrode 121 are disposed in the same layer and are made of the same material. Thus, the shielding structure 16 and the first electrode 121 can be formed in the same patterning process, thereby saving process.
[0183] Optionally, the shielding structure 16 includes a plurality of third shielding segments 163, which correspond to at least a portion of the partition structure 13. The orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive backplate 11 lies within the orthographic projection of the corresponding third shielding segment 163 on the drive backplate 11. Here, the third shielding segments 163 can shield the touch signals loaded on the corresponding touch segments.
[0184] Optionally, multiple third shielding segments 163 correspond to at least a portion of the first electrodes 121, and the third shielding segments 163 are electrically connected to their respective first electrodes 121. In this way, the third shielding segments 163 can receive electrical signals applied to their respective first electrodes 121, thus avoiding electrostatic discharge (ESD) problems.
[0185] In summary, this application provides a display panel.
[0186] This application provides another display panel. Please refer to Figures 27 and 28. Figure 27 is a partial top view of the other display panel provided in this application embodiment, and Figure 28 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the display panel provided in Figure 27 at A9-A9. The display panel 10 includes: a driving back plate 11, a first touch electrode layer 14, a plurality of light-emitting devices 12, and a plurality of partition structures 13.
[0187] Multiple light-emitting devices 12 and multiple partition structures 13 are located on one side of the drive back plate 11.
[0188] The first touch electrode layer 14 is located on the side of the plurality of light-emitting devices 12 away from the driving backplate 11.
[0189] Wherein, at least a portion of the orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11 is located within the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the drive back plate 11, and another portion of the orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11 is located outside the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the drive back plate 11.
[0190] In this embodiment, due to space constraints, there is a situation where the first touch electrode layer 14 cannot completely avoid the partition structure 13. Therefore, by setting at least a portion of the orthographic projection of the partition structure 13 on the drive back plate 11 to be outside the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the drive back plate 11, the applicability to this situation can be improved.
[0191] In summary, this application provides a display panel. Because the partition structure blocks the film layer in the light-emitting device, the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer at the partition structure is easily coupled with the display signal loaded on the driving backplane. This application reduces the overlap area between at least a portion of the partition structure's orthographic projection on the driving backplane and the first touch electrode layer by setting at least a portion of the orthographic projection of the partition structure on the driving backplane outside the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer on the driving backplane. This reduces the impact of the touch signal at this at least partial partition structure on the display signal, thereby improving the display effect.
[0192] Optionally, please refer to Figures 29 and 30. Figure 29 is another cross-sectional view of the display panel provided in Figure 27 at A9-A9, and Figure 30 is yet another cross-sectional view of the display panel provided in Figure 27 at A9-A9. The first touch electrode layer 14 includes: a plurality of touch segments 142, which correspond to a plurality of partition structures 13, and the overall extension direction of the touch segments 142 is parallel to the overall extension direction of the corresponding partition structures 13.
[0193] In this configuration, at least a portion of the touch segment 142's orthographic projection onto the driving backplate 11, specifically the first partition Q3, lies within the orthographic projection of the corresponding partition structure 13 onto the driving backplate 11. Conversely, at least a portion of the touch segment 142's orthographic projection onto the driving backplate 11, specifically the second partition Q4, lies outside the orthographic projection of the corresponding partition structure 13 onto the driving backplate 11. Because the partition structure 13 creates a gap in the second electrode 123, the touch signal loaded on the first touch electrode layer 14 experiences crosstalk with the display signal loaded on the pixel driving circuit 112 at this gap. This crosstalk is similar to an electric field passing through the gap in the second electrode 123, thus affecting the pixel driving circuit 112. Therefore, the first partition Q3, which overlaps with the gap, has the greatest impact on the pixel driving circuit 112.
[0194] In the direction parallel to the drive backplate 11 and perpendicular to the extension of the touch line segment 142, that is, in the third direction X3, the width of the first partition Q3 is less than or equal to the width of the second partition Q4. This includes two cases:
[0195] Referring to Figure 29, in one scenario, the width of the first partition Q3 is equal to the width of the second partition Q4. That is, the center of the touch segment 142 in the third direction X3 coincides with the outer contour of the partition structure 13. Since the touch signal moves further away from the gap as the width of the first partition Q3 decreases, the electric field gradually weakens, thus reducing the impact of the touch signal on the display signal. Therefore, by setting the center of the touch segment 142 to not exceed the outer contour of the partition structure 13, the electric field of the touch signal can be reduced to a certain extent, thereby reducing the crosstalk of the touch signal to the pixel driving circuit 112.
[0196] In another case, please refer to Figure 30. The width of the first partition Q3 is smaller than the width of the second partition Q4. That is, the center of the touch line segment 142 in the third direction X3 is offset from the outer contour of the partition structure 13. This can further reduce the electric field of the touch signal, thereby reducing the crosstalk of the touch signal to the pixel driving circuit 112.
[0197] In this embodiment of the application, the distance d1 between the center of the touch line segment 142 and the outer contour of the partition structure 13 on the third direction X3 can be set as needed. For example, it can be set according to the minimum distance between two adjacent light-emitting devices 12 on the third direction X3, so as to ensure that the center of the touch line segment 142 deviates from the outer contour of the partition structure 13 and the touch line segment 142 does not block the light emitted by the light-emitting device 12.
[0198] Optionally, in the extension direction parallel to the drive backplate 11 and perpendicular to the touch line segment 142, the difference between the width of the second partition Q4 and the width of the first partition Q3 is greater than 0 and less than or equal to 6 micrometers. Here, the difference between the width of the second partition Q4 and the width of the first partition Q3 is also twice the distance d1. Therefore, the distance d1 can be greater than 0 and less than or equal to 3 micrometers.
[0199] It should be noted that other structures in the display panel can refer to the above embodiments, and will not be elaborated further here. Furthermore, the embodiments of this application can be combined with the above embodiments. For example, regarding the first type of isolation structure 13a in the embodiment shown in FIG13, which still poses a risk of touch signal interference with the display signal, a portion of the orthographic projection of the first type of isolation structure 13a on the driving back plate 11 can be located within the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the driving back plate 11, while another portion of the orthographic projection of the first type of isolation structure 13a on the driving back plate 11 can be located outside the orthographic projection of the first touch electrode layer 14 on the driving back plate 11. For details, please refer to the above embodiments, and will not be elaborated further here.
[0200] In summary, this application provides a display panel.
