Abstract
Description
Capability reporting methods, devices, equipment and storage media Technical Field
[0001] This application relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to a capability reporting method, apparatus, device, and storage medium. Background Technology
[0002] SBFD (Subband Full Duplex) refers to adding an additional uplink subband to the existing transmission direction where downlink transmission is performed under the DL (Downlink) symbol across the entire frequency band. This allows network devices to perform uplink reception (UL) on a portion of the subband under the DL symbol.
[0003] In related technologies, SBFD adopts a semi-static scheduling scheme. On the network device side, according to the configured TDD (Time Division Duplex)-UL-DL-Config, the terminal device only needs to work in uplink or downlink mode on a symbol in the time domain. However, in the frequency domain, traditional terminal devices can only work on a downlink or uplink sub-band, resulting in a reduction in the spectrum available to a single terminal device and a decrease in peak rate. Terminal equipment can also be simply referred to as terminal or UE, the meaning of which can be understood by those skilled in the art.
[0033] Access network device 20 is a device deployed in an access network to provide wireless communication functionality to terminal device 10. Access network device 20 may include various forms of macro base stations, micro base stations, relay stations, APs (Access Points), etc. In systems employing different wireless access technologies, the name of the device with access network device functionality may differ; for example, in a 5G NR (New Radio) system, it is called gNodeB or gNB (Next Generation Node B). As communication technologies evolve, the name "access network device" may change. For ease of description, in this embodiment, the aforementioned devices providing wireless communication functionality to terminal device 10 are collectively referred to as access network devices. In some embodiments, a communication relationship can be established between terminal device 10 and core network element 30 through access network device 20. For example, in an LTE (Long Term Evolution) system, access network device 20 can be one or more eNodeBs within an EUTRAN (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network); in a 5G NR system, access network device 20 can be one or more gNBs within a RAN (Radio Access Network). In the embodiments of this application, unless otherwise specified, "network device" refers to access network device 20, such as a base station.
[0034] Core network element 30 is a network element deployed in the core network. Its main functions are to provide user connectivity, manage users, and bear services, serving as an interface to external networks. This application does not limit these applications.
[0037] In this embodiment, the network device can provide services to a cell. The terminal device communicates with the network device through the transmission resources (e.g., frequency domain resources, or spectrum resources) on the carrier used by the cell. The cell can be the cell corresponding to the network device (e.g., a base station). The cell can belong to a macro base station or to a base station corresponding to a small cell. The small cell can include: Metro Cell, Micro Cell, Pico Cell, Femto Cell, etc. These small cells have the characteristics of small coverage area and low transmission power, and are suitable for providing high-speed data transmission services.
[0038] Before introducing the technical solution of this application, some related technical knowledge involved in this application will be introduced and explained. The following related technologies are optional solutions and can be arbitrarily combined with the technical solutions of the embodiments of this application, all of which fall within the protection scope of the embodiments of this application. The embodiments of this application include at least some of the following contents.
[0039] 1. Uplink and downlink configuration of NR TDD time slots: TDD-UL-DL-config
[0040] In a TDD time slot configuration, TDD-UL-DL-config configures the system within a time slot to use different patterns for uplink or downlink. Information elements (IEs) are distributed on a cell-by-cell basis via the ServingCellConfigCommon information element or the ServingCellConfig information element. Terminal devices receive these IEs from the network device and configure the uplink and downlink for each symbol within the TDD subframe.
[0041] The configuration in the ServingCellConfigCommon information element is the cell-specific configuration of the terminal equipment carried in SIB1 (System Information Block 1), as shown in the following figure.

[0047] The relevant technologies also specify TDD-UL-DL-ConfigurationCommon and detail the specific configuration method of time slots for terminal devices.
[0048] And the TDD-UL-DL-ConfigDedicated in the ServingCellConfig information element for UE-specific uplink and downlink time slots, the specific configuration of its TDD-UL-DL-ConfigDedicated is as follows.

[0063] }
[0064] In related technologies, the time slots of terminal devices can be configured into three states—uplink, downlink, and flexible—on different symbols within the same time slot, based on the TDD-UL-DL pattern configured in the system. Specific available pattern configurations are shown in Table 1 below.
[0065] Table 1: Slot formats for normal cyclic prefix
[0066] 2. SBFD Sub-band Full-Duplex Solution
[0067] SBFD (Subband Full-Duplex) involves dividing a subframe into corresponding subbands in the frequency domain under a configured DL (Deep Low) symbol. This adds an extra uplink subband to the existing downlink transmission direction under that DL symbol, allowing network devices to perform uplink UL (Ultra-High) reception within a portion of the DL symbol's subband. Therefore, this technology is also known as Subband Full-Duplex. Currently, the completed subband full-duplex research only supports two different uplink and downlink subband allocation methods: DU (DL, UL) subband configuration as shown in Figure 2(a), and DUD (DL, UL, DL) subband configuration as shown in Figure 2(b).
[0068] Network devices can be configured for SBFD using DL symbols designated as D in Table 1. By setting different subbands in the frequency domain, full-duplex operation can be achieved simultaneously (on the same symbol). We can see that the basis of subband full-duplex is that network devices perform simultaneous uplink reception and downlink transmission at the same time (symbol). The main challenge is to address interference from network device transmissions to receptions. Additionally, based on the existing cellular network deployment, interference from neighboring sectors and cells' network device transmissions to the uplink subband of the SBFD network device also needs to be addressed. Considering the difficulty of in-band interference cancellation, related technologies only standardize SBFD subband full-duplex operation for network devices. In this standardization, the terminal device scheduled by the network device operates only in one subband, avoiding cross-network device uplink and downlink subbands in the frequency domain. In other words, the terminal device still only needs to operate on one symbol, performing only uplink transmission or downlink reception.
[0069] In related technologies, SBFD employs a semi-static scheduling scheme. According to the aforementioned embodiments, on the network side, based on the configured TDD-UL-DL-Config, terminal devices only need to operate in uplink or downlink mode on a single symbol in the time domain. However, in the frequency domain, traditional terminal devices can only operate on one downlink or uplink subband, resulting in a reduction in the usable spectrum and peak rate for a single terminal device. Enhanced SBFD-aware terminal devices, depending on the network device configuration, can operate across subbands in different downlink subbands. The corresponding capability reporting, uplink subband interference measurement, downlink subband guard band settings, and sensitivity backoff, etc., all require further clarification.
[0070] Please refer to Figure 3, which shows a flowchart of a capability reporting method provided in one embodiment of this application. This method is performed by a terminal device. The method includes the following step 310.
[0071] Step 310: The terminal device sends first information, which is used to indicate the terminal device's cross-subband reception capability.
[0072] In some embodiments, cross-subband reception capability refers to the ability of a terminal device to simultaneously receive signals on two non-contiguous downlink subbands. In some embodiments, when establishing an RRC (Radio Resource Control) connection, the terminal device reports its ability to simultaneously receive signals on multiple downlink subbands in SBFD.
[0073] After receiving the first information, the network device configures SBFD transmission for the terminal device. SBFD transmission refers to data and / or signaling transmission between the terminal device and the network device on at least one downlink subband and at least one uplink subband. In this embodiment, when configuring SBFD transmission, the network device implements cross-subband transmission for the terminal device using two methods: one is a method similar to non-contiguous RB (Resource Block) configuration, and the other is a method similar to intra-band non-contiguous carrier aggregation. Additionally, the terminal device performs uplink subband measurement and reporting, as well as guard band capability reporting. The base station, based on the reported capabilities and reports, performs corresponding configuration and implements cross-subband downlink transmission for the SBFD-Aware terminal. These two methods will be described in detail in the following embodiments.
[0074] In some embodiments, when the terminal device supports cross-subband reception capability, the network device configures SBFD transmission for the terminal device.
[0075] The technical solution provided in this application embodiment reports the cross-subband reception capability of the terminal device. After receiving the first information sent by the terminal device, the network device configures SBFD transmission for the terminal device to realize cross-subband reception of the terminal device, enabling the terminal device to work on at least one downlink subband and at least one uplink subband, increasing the spectrum available to the terminal device and improving the peak rate.
[0076] Please refer to Figure 4, which shows a flowchart of a capability reporting method provided in one embodiment of this application. This method is performed by a network device. The method includes the following step 410.
[0077] Step 410: The network device receives first information, which is used to indicate the cross-subband reception capability of the terminal device.
[0078] In some embodiments, cross-subband reception capability refers to the ability of a terminal device to simultaneously receive signals on two non-contiguous downlink subbands. In some embodiments, when establishing an RRC connection, the terminal device reports its ability to simultaneously receive signals on multiple downlink subbands in SBFD.
[0079] After receiving the first information, the network device configures SBFD transmission for the terminal device. SBFD transmission refers to data and / or signaling transmission between the terminal device and the network device on at least one downlink subband and at least one uplink subband. In this embodiment, when configuring SBFD transmission, the network device implements cross-subband transmission for the terminal device using two methods: one is similar to non-contiguous RB configuration, and the other is similar to intra-band non-contiguous carrier aggregation.
[0080] In some embodiments, when the terminal device supports cross-subband reception capability, the network device configures SBFD transmission for the terminal device.
[0081] The technical solution provided in this application embodiment reports the cross-subband reception capability of the terminal device.
[0082] In some embodiments, the first information includes one or more of the following:
[0083] Does the terminal device support cross-subband reception capability?
[0084] One or more candidate values for the GB frequency interval;
[0085] One or more candidate sensitivity reduction parameters;
[0086] The terminal equipment measures the uplink subband.
[0087] In some embodiments, when the terminal device supports cross-subband reception capability, the network device configures SBFD transmission for the terminal device. The two methods mentioned in the above embodiments will be described separately below.
[0088] Method 1
[0089] For terminal devices in RRC connected state, their TDD-UL-DL-config configures uplink and downlink transmission at the symbol level. Currently, in the frequency domain, the terminal device's reception is limited to one subband. For terminal devices capable of operating across subbands, such as the configuration in Figure 2(b), the terminal device receives signals on two non-contiguous downlink subbands within a frequency band, with an uplink subband in between. In this case, the network device needs to send its SBFD time-frequency resource configuration to the terminal device. The time-frequency resources configured in DUD are shown in Table 2 below.
[0090] Table 2: Configuration diagram of network device symbols
[0091] In some embodiments, the network device indicates time-frequency resources for SBFD transmission to the terminal device. In some embodiments, the terminal device receives first indication information and / or second indication information, wherein the first indication information is used to indicate time-domain resources to the terminal device, and the second indication information is used to indicate frequency-domain resources to the terminal device. Accordingly, the network device sends the first indication information and / or the second indication information. In some embodiments, the first indication information and the second indication information may be carried in the same message or in different messages. The indication methods for time-domain resources and frequency-domain resources will be described by example below.
[0092] 1. Instructions regarding time-domain resources
[0093] In some embodiments, the first indication information is used to indicate the subband configuration corresponding to one or more SBFD time domain units. In some embodiments, the SBFD time domain unit is any one of a symbol, a time slot, a frame, or a subframe. For example, Table 2 above uses SBFD time domain units as symbols. In some embodiments, the subband configuration refers to the subband on which the terminal device can perform data transmission.
[0094] In some embodiments, the subband is configured as any of the following:
[0095] All uplink sub-bands;
[0096] All downlink subbands;
[0097] SBFD subband, which consists of at least one uplink subband and at least one downlink subband.
[0098] Among them, "full uplink subband" refers to the terminal device operating only in the uplink subband on the SBFD time domain unit, such as symbols 10-13 in Table 2. "Full downlink subband" refers to the terminal device operating only in the downlink subband on the SBFD time domain unit, such as symbols 6-9 in Table 2.
[0099] In some embodiments, the SBFD subband is configured with any of the following structures:
[0100] One or more sub-units consisting of downlink sub-bands followed by uplink sub-bands, and downlink sub-bands following one or more sub-units;
[0101] First the downline sub-band, then the upline sub-band;
[0102] First, the upstream sub-band is followed by the downstream sub-band.
[0103] In some embodiments, the structure of the SBFD subband is configured in the frequency domain as any of the following:
[0104] One or more sub-units consisting of downlink sub-bands followed by uplink sub-bands, and downlink sub-bands following one or more sub-units;
[0105] First the downline sub-band, then the upline sub-band;
[0106] First, the upstream sub-band is followed by the downstream sub-band.
[0107] In some embodiments, the structure of the SBFD subband is configured from low frequency to high frequency as any of the following:
[0108] One or more sub-units consisting of downlink sub-bands followed by uplink sub-bands, and downlink sub-bands following one or more sub-units;
[0109] First the downline sub-band, then the upline sub-band;
[0110] First, the upstream sub-band is followed by the downstream sub-band.
[0111] For example, if the SBFD subband structure is configured as a set of sub-units with downlink subbands preceding uplink subbands, and a downlink subband following the set of sub-units, then the SBFD subband structure can be represented as DUD. If the SBFD subband structure is configured as multiple sets of sub-units with downlink subbands preceding uplink subbands, and a downlink subband following multiple sets of sub-units, then the SBFD subband structure can be represented as DUDU…DUD, where DU represents a sub-unit, and the number of DUs is the number of sub-units. If the SBFD subband structure is configured with downlink subbands preceding uplink subbands, then the SBFD subband structure can be represented as DU. If the SBFD subband structure is configured with uplink subbands preceding downlink subbands, then the SBFD subband structure can be represented as UD.
[0112] In some embodiments, the first indication information is used to indicate the subband configuration corresponding to a single SBFD time-domain element. In this case, the first indication information may only indicate the time-domain location of the single SBFD time-domain element and its corresponding subband configuration, such as indicating the index of the SBFD symbol and its corresponding subband configuration. In some embodiments, the first indication information is used to indicate the subband configurations corresponding to multiple SBFD time-domain elements respectively. In this case, the first indication information indicates the time-domain location of multiple SBFD time-domain elements and the subband configuration corresponding to each SBFD time-domain element.
[0113] In some embodiments, the first indication information indicates the sub-band configuration of one or more SBFD time-domain units in the form of a time-domain pattern. Exemplarily, the time-domain pattern may refer to a TDD pattern.
[0114] In some embodiments, the first indication information uses a time-domain cell format to indicate the sub-band configuration corresponding to the SBFD time-domain cell. For example, the time-domain cell format corresponding to the full uplink sub-band is U, the time-domain cell format corresponding to the full downlink sub-band is D, and the time-domain cell format corresponding to the SBFD sub-band is S. Taking the SBFD time-domain cell as an example, the first indication information may include the contents of Table 3 below.
[0115] Table 3: Configuration diagram of network device symbols
[0116] Symbols 0 to 5 are used for SBFD transmission.
[0117] In some embodiments, since the structures of SBFD subbands have different configurations, the corresponding time-domain cell format can also be determined according to the structure of different SBFD subbands. In some embodiments, the time-domain cell format can be one or more of symbols, letters, or numbers. It should be noted that Table 3 only uses S as an example to illustrate the time-domain cell format of the SBFD subband, and the time-domain cell format can be designed according to the structure of the SBFD subband.
[0118] In one example, the time-domain cell formats corresponding to the structures of different SBFD subbands are represented by the same letters. For instance, the time-domain cell format corresponding to DUD is S1, DU is S2, and UD is S3. For an SBFD subband with one or more sets of subbands that proceed from downlink to uplink, and a downlink subband following these sets of subbands, its corresponding time-domain cell format can be S1n, where n represents the number of subbands that proceed from downlink to uplink. S1 can be used as a special time-domain cell format specifically for indicating DUD, and has the same meaning as S11.
[0119] In another example, different letters are used to represent the time-domain cell formats corresponding to the structures of different SBFD subbands. For instance, the time-domain cell format for DUD is S, for DU it is P, and for UD it is Q. For an SBFD subband that has one or more sets of subbands that proceed from downlink to uplink, and a downlink subband following those sets, its corresponding time-domain cell format can be Sn, where n represents the number of subbands that proceed from downlink to uplink. S can be used as a special time-domain cell format specifically to indicate DUD, with the same meaning as S1.
[0120] In some embodiments, the network device uses a combination of first and third indication information to indicate the subband configuration corresponding to one or more SBFD time domain units. In some embodiments, if the subband is configured as a full uplink subband or a full downlink subband, the terminal device receives the third indication information. In some embodiments, if one or more SBFD time domain units have a subband configuration of a full uplink subband or a full downlink subband, the terminal device receives the third indication information. Accordingly, the network device sends the third indication information.
[0121] In some embodiments, the third indication information is used to indicate the index of one or more SBFD time-domain units, and / or the SBFD sub-bands corresponding to the one or more SBFD time-domain units. For example, the third indication information is used to indicate the index of one SBFD time-domain unit, and / or the SBFD sub-band corresponding to that one SBFD time-domain unit. For example, the third indication information is used to indicate the index of multiple SBFD time-domain units, and / or the SBFD sub-bands corresponding to the multiple SBFD time-domain units.
[0122] In some embodiments, the first indication information indicates a TDD pattern according to methods in related technologies. For example, as shown in Table 4, the first indication information only indicates that the sub-band corresponding to a time-domain unit is configured as either a full uplink sub-band or a full downlink sub-band. The third indication information indicates the index of the SBFD time-domain unit, and / or, the SBFD sub-band corresponding to one or more SBFD time-domain units respectively. The terminal device determines the actual TDD pattern based on the first and third indication information. For example, if the terminal device receives the third indication information indicating that the starting position of the SBFD symbol is symbol0 and the number of consecutive symbols is 6, then the terminal device knows that there are 6 symbols from symbol0 to symbol5 that are SBFD symbols.
[0123] Table 4: Configuration diagram of network device symbols
[0124] In some embodiments, the first indication information and / or the third indication information may be carried in a DCI or RRC reconfiguration message. In some embodiments, the first indication information and the third indication information may be carried in the same message or in different messages.
[0125] 2. Instructions regarding frequency domain resources
[0126] In some embodiments, the second indication information is used to indicate the number of RBs corresponding to each sub-band included in the SBFD sub-band. For example, the second indication information indicates the number of RBs corresponding to each sub-band included in the SBFD sub-band in order from low frequency to high frequency, or in order from high frequency to low frequency.
[0127] In some embodiments, the second indication information may be carried in RRC signaling. For example, the second indication information may be carried in RRC signaling used to configure the SCS-SpecificCarrier. Taking the SBFD subband structure as DUD as an example, the RRC signaling is used to configure the following information:
[0128] –SCS-SpecificCarrier
[0129] The IE SCS-SpecificCarrier provides parameters determining the location and width of the actual carrier or the carrier bandwidth.It is defined specifically for a numerology(subcarrier spacing(SCS))and in relation(frequency offset)to Point A.

[0144] The part in bold is the content of the second instruction.
[0145] In some embodiments, the second indication information is used to indicate the RB index corresponding to each subband included in the SBFD subband. In some embodiments, the RBs included in the entire frequency band in which the terminal device operates are numbered, which can be N RBs from 1 to NRB, where N is a positive integer. For example, the first DL subband corresponds to RBs 1 to 5, the first UL subband corresponds to RBs 6 to 10, and so on, which can also clearly describe the position and length of the subband. The subbands are numbered sequentially, starting from the lowest frequency, for both DL subbands and UL subbands.
[0146] In some embodiments, the second indication information can also be dynamically indicated via DCI.
[0147] 3. Application of SBFD sub-bands
[0148] After determining the structure of the SBFD subband, the terminal device also needs to determine other relevant information about the SBFD subband in order to achieve cross-subband reception on the SBFD subband. For example, the terminal device also needs to determine the GB frequency spacing, sensitivity reduction parameters, etc.
[0149] In some embodiments, one or more candidate values for the frequency interval of GB, and / or one or more candidate sensitivity reduction parameters, are determined based on the measurement results of the terminal device for the uplink subband. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG5, after the terminal device obtains the time-frequency resources of the SBFD configured by the network device, the terminal device performs channel quality measurement (e.g., RSRP (Reference Signal Receiving Power) measurement) in the uplink subband of the time domain unit of the SBFD configured by the network device to obtain the measurement results of the uplink subband under the current environment.
[0150] In some embodiments, the terminal device determines one or more candidate values for the frequency interval of GB and / or one or more candidate sensitivity reduction parameters based on measurement results for the uplink subband, and reports them to the network device. For example, this can be included in the first information reported to the network device. Exemplarily, the terminal device can report one or more candidate values for the frequency interval of GB and / or one or more candidate sensitivity reduction parameters to the network device in tabular form, as shown in Table 5.
[0151] Table 5: Terminal Device Reporting Cross-Subband Reception Capability
[0152] The frequency interval (GB) can be the number of receiver blocks (RBs) or a frequency unit such as MHz. The sensitivity reduction parameter is the additional sensitivity reduction based on the receiver sensitivity of that frequency band. The step size reported as the frequency interval (GB) can be one RB or multiple RBs, 1 MHz or 5 MHz, or 1 / 10 of the frequency band bandwidth, etc. In some embodiments, the frequency interval (GB) corresponds one-to-one with the sensitivity reduction parameter. The larger the frequency interval (GB), the smaller the corresponding sensitivity reduction parameter.
[0153] Table 5 shows the measurement results of the uplink subband measured by the current terminal device. Additional configuration of the GB size between the uplink and downlink subbands is required, along with the corresponding reduction in sensitivity in the downlink subband. For example, if the GB size is A, the sensitivity reduction of the terminal device in the downlink subband is a dB. As shown in Figure 6(a), GB can be deployed on the downlink subband, and as shown in Figure 6(b), GB can also be deployed on the uplink subband.
[0154] In some embodiments, the deployment location of GB can be reported by the terminal device to the network device, or it can be configured by the network device. For example, the first information also includes the deployment location of GB.
[0155] In some embodiments, after a network device receives one or more candidate values for the frequency interval of GB and / or one or more candidate sensitivity reduction parameters reported by a terminal device, the network device configures a suitable frequency interval of GB and / or a suitable sensitivity reduction parameter for the terminal device.
[0156] In some embodiments, the terminal device receives second information, where the second information is used to indicate one or more of the following: a first frequency interval, a deployment position of GB, and a first sensitivity reduction parameter. Correspondingly, the network device sends the second information.
[0157] In some embodiments, the first frequency interval is determined by the network device from the one or more candidate values for the frequency interval of GB based on channel quality, and the first sensitivity reduction parameter is determined by the network device from the one or more candidate sensitivity reduction parameters based on channel quality. In some embodiments, the channel quality is any one of the following: RSRP, RSRQ (Reference Signal Receiving Quality), and RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator).
[0158] In some embodiments, the first frequency interval and / or the first sensitivity reduction parameter are determined by the network device based on channel quality and a first threshold, where the first threshold is a predefined or preconfigured receiving sensitivity threshold. In some embodiments, the channel quality is the channel quality of a downlink channel. For example, the channel quality is the downlink receiving power P1 of a DMRS (Demodulation Reference Signal) signal. Taking the channel quality as P1 and the first threshold as P threshold as an example, the process for the network device to determine the first frequency interval and / or the first sensitivity reduction parameter is as follows:
[0159] 1. Calculate the value of P1-a, if P1-a>P threshold , then GB can adopt frequency interval A;
[0160] 2. If P1-a<P threshold , then consider P1-b, if P1-b>P threshold , then GB can adopt frequency interval B, and so on.
[0161] 3. In particular, as the frequency interval increases such that A<B<C, the corresponding sensitivity reduction should be smaller, that is, a>b>c. Therefore, if P1–c<P threshold and the threshold still cannot be met, the network device cannot configure the corresponding terminal device to perform cross-subband reception on the SBFD time domain unit.
[0162] After the network device completes the judgment, for example, using GB=A and GB deployed in the downlink subband, the network device will use RRC reconfiguration to configure the GB received by the terminal device across subbands to the terminal device, and the terminal device can then receive downlink according to the corresponding configuration.
[0163] Method 2
[0164] In some embodiments, downlink subbands can be configured by adding cells via intra-band non-contiguous CA. Terminal devices preferentially receive downlink signals from network devices on a single subband and access the network via traditional TDD to enter RRC connected state.
[0165] In some embodiments, the terminal device performs an initial access procedure in the first downlink subband and establishes a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection with the network device. For example, as shown in FIG7, the terminal device performs initial access in the first subband (first downlink subband) on the left and connects to the network device, entering the RRC connection state. After connecting to the network, the terminal device reports its capabilities (including the terminal device's cross-subband reception capability) via RRC signaling, informing the network device that the terminal device supports cross-subband reception in the SBFD subband. In this case, the first information may be the terminal device's capability reporting information.
[0166] In some embodiments, the first information may include the terminal device's cross-subband reception capability across various subbands. For example, the first information is the terminal capability per band, including only whether the terminal device supports cross-subband reception capability.
[0167] In some embodiments, the first information includes one or more of the following:
[0168] Does the terminal device support cross-subband reception capability?
[0169] GB frequency interval.
[0170] In some embodiments, the frequency spacing of GB is predefined or preconfigured. In this case, the terminal device does not need to perform channel quality measurements on the uplink channel.
[0171] In some embodiments, the terminal device performs channel quality measurements on a second downlink subband, which is a non-contiguous downlink subband to the first downlink subband. In some embodiments, the terminal device performs channel quality measurements on the second downlink subband based on the network device configuration. In some embodiments, a first uplink subband exists between the first downlink subband and the second downlink subband. For example, as shown in FIG7, the network device configures the terminal device to perform channel quality measurements on a third subband (the second downlink subband). This differs from the application in the above embodiments; the channel quality measurement is performed directly on the downlink subband without additional measurement of the uplink subband, reducing measurement time overhead. In some embodiments, the channel quality measurement of the second downlink subband by the terminal device can be considered as the terminal device performing neighbor cell measurements.
[0172] In some embodiments, if the channel quality measurement results of the second downlink subband meet the first requirement, the terminal device accesses the secondary cell. The secondary cell includes the second downlink subband and the first uplink subband, with the first uplink subband located between the first downlink subband and the first uplink subband. If the channel quality measurement results of the second downlink subband meet the minimum channel quality requirements for access, the network device can configure the terminal device to access the new Scell. In some embodiments, the channel quality measurement results can be measurements such as RSRP, RSSI, and RSRQ. The network device issues the configuration for in-band non-contiguous carrier aggregation via RRC reconfiguration.
[0173] Using the above method, terminal equipment can avoid increasing signaling overhead and measurement activities, basically adopting the intra-band discontinuous carrier aggregation scheme. However, since there is no measurement of the intermediate uplink subband, relying solely on the channel quality of the downlink subband, it is prone to prolonged periods of poor downlink subband measurement channel quality, making it impossible to configure cross-subband downlink transmission. Furthermore, adding and activating cells requires the measurement of the entire neighboring cell and the entire RRC reconfiguration process, resulting in significant latency.
[0174] It should be noted that, in the above method embodiments, the steps performed by the terminal device can be implemented separately as a capability reporting method on the terminal device side; the steps performed by the network device can be implemented separately as a capability reporting method on the network device side.
