METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR COMMUNICATION

[0001] The present application claims priority to US patent application No. 63 / 790,475, entitled "Resource assignment method for dynamic TDD systems" , filed on April 17, 2025 and hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of communications, and more specifically, to a method, apparatus and system for communication.BACKGROUND

[0003] In some scheduling mechanisms, separate signaling formats are specified for downlink and uplink scheduling to manage data transmission. For example, the user equipment (UE) relies on downlink scheduling signaling to receive information from the network, and relies on uplink scheduling signaling to transmit information to the network. However, the existing scheduling mechanisms cannot meet the efficiency requirements.SUMMARY

[0004] Implementations of the present application provide a method, apparatus and system for communication, which can improve scheduling mechanism efficiency.

[0005] According to a first aspect, a method is described. The method may be applied at a terminal side, for example, a terminal (e.g., a terminal device) or a module in a terminal, a circuit or a chip (for example, a modem chip, also referred to as a baseband chip, or a system on chip (SoC) chip or a system in package (SIP) chip that includes a modem core that is responsible for a communication function in a terminal. For example, the method is applied to a terminal. In this method, the terminal obtains first information, where the first information indicates a first a first set of one or more physical resources for a first transmission direction and a second set of one or more physical resources for a second transmission direction; the terminal receives second information, where the second information indicates at least one first physical resource for the first transmission direction and at least one second physical resource for the second transmission direction, wherein the at least one first physical resource is included in the first set or the second set, and the at least one second physical resource is included in the first set or the second set; and the terminal transmits data in the first transmission direction in the at least one first physical resource and receives data in the second transmission direction in the at least one second physical resource, or the terminal receives data in the first transmission direction in the at least one first physical resource and transmits data in the second transmission direction in the at least one second physical resource.

[0006] According to a second aspect, a method may be applied to a network side, for example, a location server (e.g., a network node) or a component (for example, a circuit, a chip, or a chip system) in a location server on a network side. For example, the method is applied to a network node. In the method, the network node transmits first information, where the first information indicates a first set of one or more physical resources for a first transmission direction and a second set of one or more physical resources for a second transmission direction; the network node transmits second information, wherein the second information indicates at least one first physical resource for a first transmission direction and at least one second physical resource for a second transmission direction, wherein the at least one first physical resource is included in the first set or the second set, and the at least one second physical resource is included in the first set or the second set; and the network node receives data in the first transmission direction in the at least one first physical resource and transmits data in the second transmission direction in the at least one second physical resource, or the network node transmits data in the first transmission direction in the at least one first physical resource and receives data in the second transmission direction in the at least one second physical resource.

[0007] Based on the above technical solution, on the basis of configuring a first set of one or more physical resources for a first transmission direction and a second set of one or more physical resources for a second transmission direction, second information is designed to simultaneously schedule physical resources for data transmission in both the first transmission direction and second transmission direction. This allows the terminal to perform timely data transmission in both directions, thereby improving the efficiency of the scheduling mechanism.

[0008] According to the first aspect, in a possible design, the method further includes: the terminal obtains third information, wherein the third information indicates at least one of: a first part of physical resources of the first set available for the second transmission direction, or a second part of physical resources of the second set available for the first transmission direction.

[0009] According to the second aspect, in a possible design, the method further includes: the network node transmits third information, where the third information indicates at least one of: a first part of physical resources of the first set available for the second transmission direction, or a second part of physical resources of the second set available for the first transmission direction.

[0010] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the at least one first physical resource is included in the second part, and / or, the at least one second physical resource is included in the first part.

[0011] Based on the above technical solution, the first part and the second part, which may be collectively referred to as opportunistic physical resources, can be further configured. Thus, the third information and the second information may jointly indicate the first physical resource and the second physical resource, further improving the efficiency of the scheduling mechanism.

[0012] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the second information is carried in downlink control information (DCI) .

[0013] Based on the above technical solution, a single DCI may be used to carry the second information. In other words, the DCI is not used for only one direction but for both the first transmission direction and the second transmission direction. The terminal can determine physical resources for both directions (e.g., both uplink and downlink) based on a single DCI, thereby reducing latency and improving efficiency.

[0014] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, a format of the DCI is: scheduling for the first transmission direction, scheduling for the second transmission direction, or scheduling for the first transmission direction and the second transmission direction.

[0015] Based on the above technical solution, various formats of DCI (e.g., either a newly designed format or an existing format) can be applied, thereby supporting various application scenarios.

[0016] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the second information comprises at least one of: a field indicating a location of the at least one first physical resource in time domain, a field indicating a location of the at least one second physical resource in time domain, or a field indicating a location of both the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource in time domain.

[0017] Based on the above technical solution, the terminal can determine the location of the first physical resource and the second physical resource in time domain based on the second information. This allows the terminal to reliably transmit and receive using the indicated time resource.

[0018] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the second information comprises at least one of: a field indicating a location of the at least one first physical resource in frequency domain, a field indicating a location of the at least one second physical resource in frequency domain, or a field indicating a location of both the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource in frequency domain.

[0019] Based on the above technical solution, the terminal can determine the location of the first physical resource and the second physical resource in frequency domain based on the second information. This allows the terminal to reliably transmit and receive using the indicated frequency resource.

[0020] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource have a relationship in time domain and / or in frequency domain.

[0021] Based on the above technical solution, a relationship in time domain and / or frequency domain between the first physical resource and the second physical resource may be pre-defined or pre-configured. Therefore, the second information may carry time and / or frequency information of one of the first physical resource and the second physical resource, and the terminal can determine the other one based on the carried information and the relationship. Thus, the transmission overhead of the second information can be reduced.

[0022] According to the first aspect, in a possible design, the method further includes: the terminal receives fourth information indicating the relationship.

[0023] According to the second aspect, in a possible design, the method further includes: the network node transmits fourth information indicating the relationship.

[0024] Based on the above technical solution, the relationship may be indicated by the network node, thereby guaranteeing the indication reliability.

[0025] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the second information comprises a field indicating a location of the at least one first physical resource, and a location of the at least one second physical resource is determined based on the second information and the relationship; or the second information comprises a field indicating a location of the at least one second physical resource, and a location of the at least one first physical resource is determined based on the second information and the relationship.

[0026] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource are associated with a same carrier; or the at least one first physical resource is associated with a first carrier and the at least one second physical resource are associated with a second carrier.

[0027] Based on the above technical solution, the first physical resource and the second physical resource may be associated with the same or different carriers. In other words, the single second information may support scheduling multiple carriers.

[0028] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the second information further indicates one or more carriers associated with the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource.

[0029] Based on the above technical solution, the associated carrier (s) may be indicated by the second information, thereby guaranteeing the indication reliability.

[0030] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource are associated with a same transmit receive point (TRP) ; or the at least one first physical resource is associated with a first TRP and the at least one second physical resource are associated with a second TRP.

[0031] Based on the above technical solution, the first physical resource and the second physical resource may be associated with the same or different TRPs. In other words, the single second information may support scheduling multiple TRPs.

[0032] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the second information further indicates one or more TRPs associated with the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource.

[0033] Based on the above technical solution, the associated TRP (s) may be indicated by the second information, thereby guaranteeing the indication reliability.

[0034] According to the first aspect or the second aspect, in a possible design, the first transmission direction is downlink direction, uplink direction or sidelink direction, and the second transmission direction is downlink direction, uplink direction or sidelink direction, wherein the first transmission direction and the second transmission direction are different.

[0035] For example, when the first transmission direction is downlink direction, the second transmission direction is uplink direction, then the terminal receives data in the downlink direction and transmits data in the uplink direction according to the first aspect, and the network node transmits data in the downlink direction and receives data in the uplink direction according to the second aspect, or vice versa.

[0036] Based on the above technical solution, the uplink and downlink data transmission (or Uu and sidelink data transmission) may be scheduled simultaneously, thereby enhancing scheduling efficiency.

[0037] According to a third aspect, a communication apparatus is described. The communication apparatus has a function of implementing the first aspect. For example, the communication apparatus includes a corresponding module, unit, or means for performing operations in the first aspect. The module, unit, or means may be specifically implemented using software, may be implemented by using hardware, or may be implemented by using software in combination with hardware.

[0064] FIG. 1 is a schematic illustration of an example communication system according to an implementation of the present disclosure, there is shown a communication system 100 that includes a radio access network (RAN) 120, one or more communication electronic devices (EDs) 110a, 110b, 110c, 110d, 110e, 110f, 110g, 110h, 110i, 110j (collectively referred to as 110) , a core network 130, a public switched telephone network (PSTN) 140, the Internet 150, and other networks 160 . The RAN 120 may include, but is not limited to, a future generation RAN, or a legacy RAN such as, but not limited to, 5th generation (5G) , 4th generation (4G) , 3rd generation (3G) or 2nd generation (2G) radio access network. The RAN 120 may be, for example, an evolved universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) , a NextGen RAN (NG RAN) , or some other type of RAN. Examples of RAN 120 based on the evolution of telecommunications standards include, but is not limited to, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and code division multiple access (CDMA) for 2G, universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) based on wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) and CDMA2000 for 3G, long-term evolution (LTE) and WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) for 4G, and new radio (NR) for 5G. In some implementations, the RAN 120 may also be an open RAN (ORAN) , a cloud RAN (CRAN) an artificial intelligence RAN (AI RAN) , zigbee RAN, wireless fidelity (WiFi) , or any combination thereof. In some implementations, The RAN 120 may use any radio access technology (RAT) in the wireless interface between the one or more EDs 110 and the RAN 120. In some implementations, the term “radio access” may refer to the future generation air interface standards which may include both terrestrial networks (TNs) and non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) . These networks will be described in greater detail below in conjunction with various implementations. The one or more communication EDs 110 (also referred to as “user equipment” ) are configured to connect (e.g., communicatively couple) with each other or to one or more network nodes 170a, 170b (collectively referred to as 170) in the RAN 120. The core network (CN) 130 is a part of the communication system 100 and consists of network nodes (e.g., 170a, 170b) which provide support for the network features and telecommunication services. In some implementations, the CN 130 may be dependent on the RAT used in the communication system 100. In other implementations, the CN 130 may be access-agnostic, i.e., the CN 130 may be independent of the RAT used in the communication system 100. There are different types of CN 130, for different 3GPP system generations. For example, the CN 130 is the evolved packet core (EPC) in 4G, also known as the evolved packet system (EPS) . In another example, the CN 130 is the 5G Core (5GC) which was developed as part of the 5G System (5GS) . The CN 130 also enables integration of different 3GPP and non-3GPP access types. In some implementations and referring to FIG. 1, the CN 130 also provides the interface towards external networks that may include the PSTN 140, the Internet 150, and other networks 160 in the communication system 100.

[0065] In general, the communication system 100 facilitates interaction between multiple wireless or wired elements. The communication system 100 may transmit different types of content, such as voice, data, video, and / or text, through different transmission methods such as, but not limited to, broadcast, multicast, groupcast, and unicast. Additionally, the communication system 100 operates by allocating and / or sharing resources, such as carrier spectrum bandwidth, among its constituent elements.

[0066] The communication system 100 may provide a wide range of communication services and applications including, but not limited to, Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) services, ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) services, Massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC) services, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) , immersive communication, ultra-massive machine-type communication (uMTC) , hyper reliable and low-latency communication, ubiquitous connectivity, integrated AI and communication, and other services that can be provided by a future generation communication system. The communication system 100 may provide other services and applications such as, but not limited to, earth monitoring, remote sensing, passive sensing and positioning, navigation and tracking, autonomous delivery and mobility and the like.

[0067] The communication system 100 may include a terrestrial communication system (or network) and / or a non-terrestrial communication system (or network) . The communication system 100 may provide a high degree of availability and robustness through a joint operation of the terrestrial communication system and the non-terrestrial communication system. For example, integrating a non-terrestrial communication system (or components thereof) into a terrestrial communication system can result in a heterogeneous network including multiple layers. The heterogeneous network may achieve better overall performance through efficient multi-link joint operation, more flexible functionality sharing, and faster physical layer link switching between terrestrial networks and non-terrestrial networks. The terrestrial communication system and the non-terrestrial communication system could be considered as sub-systems of the communication system 100.

[0068] FIG. 2 illustrates another example communication system 100 according to an implementation of the present disclosure, there is shown the communication system 100 includes EDs 110a, 110b, 110c, 110d (collectively referred to as ED 110) , RANs 120a, 120b, one or more CNs 130, a PSTN 140, the Internet 150, and other networks 160. Additionally, the communication system 100 may also include a non-terrestrial network (NTN) 120c. The RANs 120a and120b may include network nodes 170a and 170b respectively. Examples of network nodes 170a, 170b include base stations, which can be generally referred to as terrestrial network (TN) devices or terrestrial transmit and receive points (T-TRPs) 170a and 170b (collectively referred to as 170) . In this context, the terms "TRP" and "base station" are used interchangeably unless otherwise specified. For simplicity, this disclosure primarily refers to network nodes as base stations; however, unless explicitly stated otherwise, references to TRP are considered non-limiting and interchangeable. The T-TRPs 170a, 170b may be base stations mounted on a building or tower. In one implementation, the NTN 120c includes a RAN node such as a base station 172, which may be generally referred to as an NTN device, a non-terrestrial node, a non-terrestrial network device, a non-terrestrial base station, or a non-terrestrial transmit and receive point (NT-TRP) 172.

[0069] In some implementations, the NT-TRP 172 is not attached to the ground, for example, as in the case of an airborne base station. An airborne base station may be implemented using communication equipment supported or carried by a flying device. For example, a flying device may include, but is not limited to, an airborne platform (such as a blimp or an airship) , balloon, drone (such as quadcopter) , and other types of aerial vehicles. In some implementations, an airborne base station may be supported or carried by an unmanned aerial system (UAS) or an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) , such as a drone. An airborne base station may be a moveable or mobile base station that can be flexibly deployed in different locations to meet the network demand. A satellite base station is another example of a non-terrestrial base station. A satellite base station may be implemented using communication equipment supported or carried by a satellite. A satellite base station may also be referred to as an orbiting base station. High altitude platforms are yet another example of non-terrestrial base stations, including international mobile telecommunication base stations.

[0070] As referred to herein, and unless specified otherwise, a “TRP” may also refer to a T-TRP or an NT-TRP, a “T-TRP” may also refer to a “TN TRP” , and an “NT-TRP” may also refer to an “NTN TRP” . The NTN 120c may be considered a RAN, sharing operational aspects with RANs 120a, 120b. The NTN 120c may include at least one NTN device and at least one corresponding terrestrial network device. The at least one NTN device may function as a transport layer device and the at least one corresponding terrestrial network device may function as a RAN node, communicating with the ED 110 via the NTN device. Additionally, there may be an NTN gateway on the ground (referred to as a terrestrial network device) that also functions as a transport layer device facilitating communication with both the NTN device and the RAN node. The RAN node may communicate with the ED 110 via the NTN device and the NTN gateway. In some implementations, the NTN gateway and the RAN node may be located within the same device.

[0071] A base station 170 (also referred to as a TRP as stated above) is a network element within a radio access network responsible for radio transmission and reception in one or more cells to or from the ED (such as a user equipment) . In different implementations, the base station 170 may also be known as a base transceiver station (BTS) , a radio base station, a network node, a network device, a device on the network side, a transmit / receive node, a Node B, an evolved NodeB (eNodeB or eNB) , a Home eNodeB, a next Generation NodeB (gNB) , a transmission point (TP) , a site controller, an access point (AP) , a wireless router, a relay station, a terrestrial node, a terrestrial network device, a terrestrial base station, a non-terrestrial node, a non-terrestrial network device, a non-terrestrial base station, and a positioning node, among other possibilities. The base station 170 may be a macro base station (BS) , a pico BS, a relay node, a donor node, or combinations thereof. When the base station 170 performs (or is configured to perform) a method described herein, it may be interpreted as the base station itself, one or more modules (or units) in the base station, a circuit or chip, or a combination thereof, performing the method. For example, the circuit or chip may include a modem chip, also referred to as a baseband chip, a system on chip (SoC) including a modem core, system in package (SIP) , and the like, and may be responsible for one or more communication functions within the base station.

[0072] The EDs 110a-110d and TRPs 170a-170b, 172 are examples of communication equipment configured to implement some or all of the operations and / or implementations described herein. The T-TRP 170a forms part of the RAN 120a, which may include other TRPs, and / or other devices. Also, the TRP 170b forms part of the RAN 120b, which may include other TRPs, and / or devices. Each TRP 170a, 170b may transmit and / or receive wireless signals within a particular geographic region or area, sometimes referred to as a “cell” or a “coverage area” . The TRPs 170a-170b may be responsible for allocating and / or configuring resources and transmission and / or reception in a set of cell (s) . A cell is a radio network object that can be uniquely identified by a cell identification that is broadcasted over a geographical region or area from base stations associated with the cell. A cell can work in either FDD or TDD mode. A cell may be further divided into cell sectors, and a base station 170a-170b may, for example, employ one or more transceivers to provide services to one or more sectors. Some implementations, may include pico or femto cells if supported by the radio access technology. In some implementations, one or more transceivers could be used for each cell, such as with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology. The number of RANs 120a-120b shown is merely an example. Any number of RANs may be contemplated when designing the communication system 100.

[0073] A base station may be a single element, as shown in the figures, or multiple elements distributed throughout the corresponding RAN, or otherwise configured. In some implementations, a plurality of RAN nodes coordinate to assist the ED 110 in implementing radio access, and different RAN nodes separately implement and handle different functions of the base station. For example, the RAN node may be a central unit (CU) , a distributed unit (DU) , a CU-control plane (CP) , a CU-user plane (UP) , or a radio unit (RU) etc. The CU and the DU may be separately deployed, or included within the same element (i.e., a baseband unit (BBU) ) . The RU may be included in a radio frequency device or a radio frequency unit (i.e., a remote radio unit (RRU) , an active antenna unit (AAU) , or a remote radio head (RRH) ) . In different systems, the CU (or the CU-CP and the CU-UP) , the DU, or the RU may be known by different names, but their functions are understood by a person skilled in the art. For example, in an open radio access network (ORAN) system, a CU may be referred to as an open CU (O-CU) , a DU may be referred to as an open DU (O-DU) , and a CU-CP may be referred to as an open CU-CP (O-CU-CP) . The CU-UP may also be referred to as an open CU-UP (O-CU-UP) , and the RU may also be referred to as an open RU (O-RU) . Any one of the CU (or the CU-CP, or the CU-UP) , the DU, and the RU may be implemented using a software module, a hardware module, or a combination of a software module and a hardware module.

[0074] Furthermore, communication between different devices / apparatuses in various implementations of this disclosure may refer to direct communication (that is, without the need of forwarding by another device / apparatus) , or may refer to communication (s) between different devices / apparatuses via another device / apparatus (that is, requiring forwarding by another device / apparatus) . Alternatively, such communication (s) may involve one functional unit inside a device / apparatus using another functional unit within the device / apparatus to communicate with another device / apparatus. In other words, phrases such as "sending (or transmitting) information to... (an ED or a base station) " in this disclosure may be understood as a destination endpoint of the information being an ED or a base station, including, sending / transmitting information directly or indirectly to an ED or a base station. Similarly, phrases like "receiving information from... (an ED or a base station) " may be understood as a source endpoint of the information being an ED or a base station, including directly or indirectly receiving information from an ED or a base station. Between the source endpoint that sends the information and the destination endpoint, necessary processing such as, but not limited to, format conversion, digital-to-analog conversion, amplification, and filtering may be performed on the information. However, the destination endpoint may understand valid information from the source endpoint. A similar understanding applies to other descriptions in this disclosure without reiterating details already described. In the present disclosure, the terms "send" and "transmit" may be used interchangeably in different implementations of this disclosure.

[0075] The ED 110 is used to connect people, objects, machines, and other entities. The ED 110 may be widely used in various scenarios including, but not limited to, cellular communications, device-to-device (D2D) , vehicle to everything (V2X) , peer-to-peer (P2P) , machine-to-machine (M2M) , MTC, internet of things (IoT) , virtual reality (VR) , augmented reality (AR) , mixed reality (MR) , metaverse, digital twin, industrial control, self-driving, remote medical, smart grid, smart furniture, smart office, smart wearable, smart transportation, smart city, drones, robots, remote sensing, passive sensing, positioning, navigation and tracking, and autonomous delivery and mobility.

[0076] Each ED 110 represents any suitable end user device for wireless operation and may include such devices (or may be referred to as, but not limited to) a user equipment (UE) or a user device or a terminal device, a wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU) , a mobile station, a fixed or mobile subscriber unit, a cellular telephone, a station (STA) , an MTC device, a personal digital assistant (PDA) , a smartphone, a laptop, a computer, a tablet, a wireless sensor, a consumer electronics device, a smart book, a vehicle, a car, a truck, a bus, a train, or an IoT device, wearable devices (such as a watch, a pair of glasses, head mounted equipment, etc. ) , an industrial device, or an apparatus (such as a module, modem, or chip) in the foregoing devices, among other possibilities. Future generation EDs 110 may be referred to by other terms. When an ED 110 performs (or is configured to perform) a method described herein, it may be interpreted as the ED itself, one or more modules (or units) in the ED, a circuit or chip, or a combination thereof, performing the method. For example, the circuit or chip may include a modem chip, also referred to as a baseband chip, a system on chip (SoC) including a modem core, or system in package (SIP) , and the like, and may be responsible for one or more communication functions in the ED.

[0077] Each ED 110 connected to TRPs 170a-170b, and / or TRPs 172 can be dynamically or semi-statically turned-on (i.e., established, activated, or enabled) , turned-off (i.e., released, deactivated, or disabled) and / or configured in response to one of more of: connection availability and connection necessity.

[0078] Any ED 110 may be alternatively or additionally configured to interface, access, or communicate with any of the TRPs 170a, 170b and 172, the Internet 150, the CN 130, the PSTN 140, the other networks 160, or any combination thereof. In some examples, the ED 110a may communicate an uplink (UL) and / or downlink (DL) transmission with T-TRP 170a over a terrestrial air interface 190a (in some implementations, 190a is also called “Uu” link, or Uu interface) . In some examples, the EDs 110a, 110b, 110c, and 110d may also communicate directly with one another via one or more sidelink (SL) air interfaces 190b. In some examples, the EDs 110a, 110d may communicate using an UL and / or DL transmission with NT-TRP 172 over a non-terrestrial air interface 190c (in some implementations, 190c is also called “Uu” link, or Uu interface) .

[0079] An air interface (such as, for example, 190a, 190b, 190c) generally includes a number of components and associated parameters that collectively specify how a transmission is to be sent and / or received over a wireless communications link between two or more communicating devices such as EDs and base station (s) . For example, an air interface may include one or more components defining the waveform (s) , frame structure (s) , multiple access scheme (s) , protocol (s) , coding scheme (s) and / or modulation scheme (s) for conveying information (such as, data) over a wireless communications link. The two or more of air interfaces 190a, 190b and 190c may use similar communication technology, that may include any suitable radio access technology.

[0080] The non-terrestrial air interface 190c can enable communication between the EDs 110a, 110d and one or more NT-TRPs 172 via a wireless link or simply a link. For some examples, the link is a dedicated connection for unicast transmission, a connection for broadcast transmission, or a connection between a group of EDs 110 and one or more NT-TRPs 172 for multicast transmission.

[0081] The TRPs 170a-170b, 172 may communicate with one another over one or more air interfaces 190e, 190f using wireless communication links (such as radio frequency (RF) , microwave, infrared (IR) , etc. ) or wired communication links. The air interfaces 190e, 190f may utilize any suitable radio access technology, and may be substantially similar to the air interfaces 190a, 190c over which the EDs 110a-110d communicate with one or more of the TRP 170a-170b, 172 or they may be substantially different.

[0082] For example, the communication system 100 may implement one or more channel access methods, such as time division multiple access (TDMA) , frequency division multiple access (FDMA) , code division multiple access (CDMA) , single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) , low density signature multicarrier code division multiple access (LDS-MC-CDMA) , non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) , pattern division multiple access (PDMA) , lattice partition multiple access (LPMA) , resource spread multiple access (RSMA) , and sparse code multiple access (SCMA) .

[0083] The RANs 120a and 120b are in communication with the CN 130 to provide the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c with various services such as voice, data, multimedia, and other services. The RANs 120a and 120b and / or the CN 130 may be in direct or indirect communication with one or more other RANs (not shown) , which may or may not be directly served by the CN 130, and may employ different radio access technologies from RAN 120a and / or RAN 120b. The CN 130 may also serve as a gateway access between (i) the RANs 120a and 120b and / or the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c, and (ii) other networks (such as the PSTN 140, the Internet 150, and the other networks 160) . In addition, some or all of the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c may include functionality for communicating with different wireless networks over different wireless links using different wireless technologies and / or protocols. For example, the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c communicate using different cellular communications protocols, such as, but not limited to, a global system for mobile communications (GSM) protocol, a code-division multiple access (CDMA) network protocol, a Push-to-Talk (PTT) protocol, a PTT over Cellular (POC) protocol, a universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) protocol, a 3GPP long term evolution (LTE) protocol, a fifth generation (5G) protocol, a new radio (NR) protocol, and the like. Instead of wireless communication (or in addition thereto) , the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c may communicate using wired communication channels to a service provider or switch (not shown) , and / or to the Internet 150. The PSTN 140 may include circuit switched telephone networks for providing plain old telephone service (POTS) . The Internet 150 may include a network of computers and subnets (intranets) or both, and incorporate protocols, such as internet protocol (IP) , transmission control protocol (TCP) , user datagram protocol (UDP) . EDs 110a 110b, and 110c may be multimode devices capable of operation according to multiple radio access technologies, and may incorporate one or multiple transceivers necessary to support such.

[0101] FIG. 4 illustrates an example apparatus 410 according to an implementation of the present disclosure. The apparatus 410 may be a communication device or an apparatus implemented in a communication device such as the ED 110 or the TRPs 170a, 170b, 172. For example, the apparatus 410 implemented in an ED may be an integrated circuit, which in some instances may be referred to as a chip, a modem, a modem chip, a baseband chip, or a baseband processor. In some implementations, one or more integrated circuits can be packaged into a system-on-chip, a system-in-package, or a multi-chip module. The apparatus 410 can include one or more integrated circuits and other discrete components. In some implementations, the apparatus 410 may be a module within the ED 110, or within the apparatus 310. In some implementations, the apparatus 410 may be a module within one of the TRPs 170a, 170b, 172, or the apparatus 320.

[0102] In an example, the apparatus 410 may include one or more processors 411, and an interface circuit 412. The apparatus 410 may further include a memory 413. The one or more processors 411 are configured to process signals and execute one or more communication protocols. The memory 413 is configured to store at least a part of the corresponding computer program instructions and / or data. In an example, the one or more processors 411 execute the computer program instructions stored in the memory 413 to implement related operations (for example, inputting, outputting, receiving, and transmitting) in the method implementations disclosed herein. In some implementations, the memory 413 being configured to store the corresponding computer program instructions and / or data may mean that the memory 413 is configured to store all of the corresponding computer program instructions and / or data for execution by the one or more processors 411. In some implementations, the memory 413 being configured to store the corresponding computer program instructions and / or data may mean that the memory 413 is configured to store a part of the corresponding computer program instructions and / or data. For example, the part of the corresponding computer program instructions and / or data may include computer program instructions and / or data that need to be currently executed by the one or more processors 411. Thus, the memory 413 may store different parts of computer program instructions and / or data for a plurality of times for the one or more processors 411 to perform related operations in the method implementations disclosed herein. As a communication interface, the interface circuit 412 is configured to implement communication with another component. For example, the interface circuit 412 may communicate a signal with another apparatus or system, such as a radio frequency processing apparatus or another processor. The signal may include or carry information intended as a payload, such as user data, control information, etc. The signal may also include or carry information useful to a receiver, but not necessarily as a payload, such as a pilot signal or a reference signal. Communicating the signal may include transmitting the signal to another component or device. Communicating the signal may additionally or alternatively include receiving the signal from another component or device. Transmitting the signal may include outputting the signal to a component or device that is directly or indirectly coupled to the interface circuit 412. Receiving the signal may include inputting or obtaining the signal from a component or device that is directly or indirectly couped to the interface circuit 412. Optionally, to reduce a load of the one or more processors, a baseband signal processing circuit 414 may be also disposed to implement processing of at least a part of the baseband signals, including signal demodulation, modulation, encoding, decoding, or the like.

[0103] The apparatus 410 may be the processor 210 (or 260) within the apparatus 310 (or 320) , in some scenarios, or may be included within the processor 210 (or 260) within the apparatus 310 (or 320) in some scenarios. The apparatus 410 may be a baseband chip or may include a baseband chip. In some implementations, the apparatus 410 may be independently packaged into a chip. In some implementations, the apparatus 310 (or 320) includes different types of chips. The apparatus 410 may be packaged into a processor chip (for example, an SoC chip or an SIP chip) with the different types of chips. In some implementations, the apparatus 410 may be packaged into a chip with some or all of the circuits of a radio frequency processing system that may further be included in the apparatus 310 (or 320) .

[0106] The apparatus 510 may be a base station side apparatus, for example, a base station or a module in a base station, or a circuit or a chip responsible for a communication function in a base station. In some implementations, apparatus 510 may be apparatus 320. The processing unit 512 may be the processor 260 (the scheduler 253 may also be included) . The communication unit 513 may comprise a receiving unit and / or a transmitting unit. The receiving unit and / or the transmitting unit may be the transmitter 252 and / or the receiver 254 respectively. The storage unit 511 may be the memory 258.

[0107] In some implementations, when the apparatus 510 is an ED 110 or a module in an ED 110, a function of the apparatus 510 may be implemented by one or more processors. Specifically, the processor may include a modem chip, or a system on chip (SoC) chip or an SIP chip that includes a modem core. A function of the communication unit 513 may be implemented by a transceiver circuit.

[0108] In some implementations, when the apparatus 510 is a circuit or a chip that is responsible for a communication function in an ED 110, such as a modem chip, an SoC chip or an SIP chip that includes a modem core, a function of the processing unit 512 may be implemented by a circuit system within the chip which includes one or more processors. A function of the communication unit 513 may be implemented by an interface circuit or a data transceiver circuit on the chip.

[0109] It may be understood that the units in the apparatus 510 may be logical or functional. Each function may correspond to one functional unit, or two or more functions may be integrated into a single functional unit. In actual implementation, all or some of the units may be integrated into a single physical entity, or may be distributed across different physical entities. In addition, the functional units may be implemented in the form of hardware, software, or a combination of hardware and software. Whether a function is implemented in the form of hardware or software depends on particular applications and design constraint conditions of the technical solutions. A person skilled in the art may use different methods to implement the described functions for specific applications, but it should not be considered that the implementation goes beyond the scope of this disclosure.

[0110] In an example, a functional unit in any one of the apparatuses may be configured as one or more integrated circuits for implementing the methods disclosed herein, for example, as one or more application-specific integrated circuits (application-specific integrated circuits, ASICs) , one or more central processing units (CPUs) , one or more microprocessors or microprocessor units (MPUs) , one or more microcontrollers or microcontroller units (MCUs) , one or more digital signal processors (DSPs) , one or more field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) , or a combination of these.

[0111] In an example, the storage unit 511 may include a random access memory, a flash memory, a read-only memory, a programmable read-only memory, an electrically erasable programmable memory, and / or a register.

[0112] A processor may be referred to as a processor system, an application processor, a baseband processor, a processor circuit, or a processor core. The processor may include one or a combination of one or more central processing units (CPUs) , one or more digital signal processors (DSPs) , one or more microprocessors (microprocessor units, MPUs) , one or more microcontrollers (microcontroller units, MCUs) , one or more graphics processing units (GPUs) , one or more field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) , one or more artificial intelligence processors (AI processors) , or one or more neural network processing units (NPUs) .

[0113] Memory or a storage unit may include one or more of the following storage media: a random access memory (RAM) , a static random access memory (static RAM, SRAM) , a dynamic random access memory (dynamic RAM, DRAM) , a phase-change memory (PCM) , a resistive random access memory (resistive RAM, ReRAM) , a magnetoresistive random access memory (magnetoresistive RAM, MRAM) , a ferroelectric random access memory (ferroelectric RAM, FRAM) , a cache, a register, a read-only memory (ROM) , a flash memory (flash memory) , an erasable programmable read-only memory (erasable programmable ROM, EPROM) , a hard disk, and the like. In an example, computer program instructions used to execute implementations may be stored in a non-volatile memory, for example, at least a part of a memory or storage unit (for example, one or more of a ROM, a flash memory, an EPROM, or a hard disk) . When a terminal runs, a part or all of the corresponding computer program instructions may be loaded to a memory that has a higher transmission speed with the processor, for example, at least a part of a memory or a storage unit (for example, one or more of a RAM, an SRAM, a DRAM, a PCM, a RERAM, an MRAM, a FRAM, a cache, or a register) , so that the processor executes the computer program instructions to perform the steps in the method implementations disclosed herein.

[0114] For the purposes of the present application, the following terms and definitions apply:

[0115] 1. frequency division duplexing (FDD) , time division duplexing (TDD) and full duplexing (FD)

[0116] In a cellular wireless communication system such as 5G, a pair of spectrums can be used for an air interface (also called Uu link) between a network node (e.g., gNB) and a UE, one for DL communication between network node and UE, for example, the transmission from the gNB to the UE, the other is for UL communication between network node and UE, for example the transmission from the UE to the gNB. This is referred to as frequency division duplexing (FDD) . FDD can avoid collision between DL and UL transmission and the transmitter and receiver are tuned to a fixed spectrum respectively. However, it requires a pair of spectrums which may not always be available. Also spectrum is considered as precious resources in wireless communication and the cost of the paired spectrum could be quite high. Alternatively, time division duplexing (TDD) can be used in which DL and UL transmissions share the same spectrum but are divided in time to avoid the collision, for example a DL signal could be transmitted from the gNB to the UE in one duration of time, and a UL transmission from the UE to the gNB can be transmitted in another duration of time. The resources used for DL and UL transmission do not overlap in time. The advantage of TDD is that it does not require a pair of spectrums and thus is more flexible and cost-effective in deployment. However, it needs to switch between DL and UL transmission / reception in time which can add more requirement / expense on hardware.

[0117] The TDD technique is used in 4G LTE with more unified configuration across cells. For example, the same TDD configuration can be applied to all cells. Thus, DL and UL transmission in different cells are aligned in time, and avoid interference between them. In 5G NR, to satisfy different traffic needs among cells in a dynamic way, dynamic TDD is introduced which can apply different TDD configurations to different cells. That however leads to issues of cross-link interference (CLI) . This is because if different TDD configurations are used for different neighboring cells, the DL and UL transmissions among neighboring cells will not be aligned in time, and the DL / UL transmissions in one cell could cause interference to UL / DL in other cells. For example, if in one cell, when a UE receives DL signal on configured DL resources of one TDD configuration, the signal could be interfered by a UL signal from a nearby UE in neighboring cell on a configured UL resource of another TDD configuration. In another example, if in one cell, when the network receives UL signal on configured UL resources of one TDD configuration, the signal could be interfered by a DL signal from a neighboring cell on a configured DL resource of another TDD configuration.

[0118] To further improve the spectrum efficiency, full duplex (FD) techniques can be used which supports simultaneously transmit / receive on the same spectrum. The main challenge to face in FD is to resolve / mitigate self-interference (SI) . For example, the DL signal transmitted from a network node on DL could cause self-interference to UL signal received at the same network node, as both DL / UL share the same spectrum and both DL / UL transmission occur at the same time. The same situation could affect UE side as well. In 5G NR, full duplexing (FD) techniques were studied and specified with focus on subband full duplex (SBFD) , which is to transmit DL signal on one subband while receive UL signal on another subband at the same time. SBFD provides a way to mitigate self-interference as even though DL / UL transmissions share the same spectrum and occur simultaneously, the DL and UL signals are actually transmitted on separate (or partially separate) parts (e.g., SB) of the same spectrum. Compared with FD, the SBFD may not cause strong self-interference and could be used as the start point to promote FD technique in future wireless communications to improve spectrum efficiency.

[0119] The dynamic TDD and SBFD could satisfy the needs in different situation / scenarios and therefore improve the system performance and spectrum efficiency accordingly. However, to support them, different configurations need to be signaled and implemented, either to split DL and UL in time to support TDD, or to further split DL and UL in both time / frequency to support SBFD. That could make both the network and UE implementation more complex.

[0120] The other issue is that, for either regular TDD, dynamic TDD or SFBD techniques, the resources for DL and UL are all semi-statically configured ahead of time and used for transmission on a particular link. The configuration is sent to the UE so both the network and the UE have the same understanding. A DL resource cannot be used for UL transmission and vice versa until / unless the configuration is changed / updated. In such a situation, there exists lack of flexibility in resource usage and waste of resource. For example, for configured DL resource, if there is no DL traffic, the resource will be wasted. On the other hand, if there is UL traffic that needs to be transmitted, it has to wait till next available UL resource configured, which could result in longer latency. The same dilemma could happen for configured UL resource.

[0121] In addition to communication on Uu link between network and UE, sidelink (SL) communication is introduced, first for V2X communication between vehicle and other vehicles or devices and later for relay between UE (s) . It is more like network controlled device to device (D2D) communication. The spectrum of SL and conventional Uu link could be shared or separated. If SL could share spectrum with Uu, more flexibility could be provided. In this case, there could be a need to change the resource allocated for Uu link (DL or UL) to SL in a dynamic manner.

[0122] 2. energy saving techniques

[0123] In future wireless communications, new requirement / techniques are emerging, for example, energy saving attracts interests from many parties including operators, UE and network vendors. For network energy saving, the TRP could be turned on / off to save network power. Other emerging techniques are focused on unifying different designs / configurations in the past to reduce the complexity and improve the efficiency. For example, Uni-carrier can be used to accommodate a wide range of carriers (e.g., TDD / FDD / FD) configured separately in the past. Uni-duplex can be used to accommodate a wide range of duplexing techniques (e.g., SBFD / FD / Virtual CC) developed separately in the past. UE-centric cell free (UC-CF) converts a system into a more UE-centric cell free system where many operations could be transparent for the UE. In one-shot data burst techniques, less time-sensitive data could be accumulated and transmitted in a burst together when channel condition is good, that could provide more time for network / UE to sleep and could also avoid the lengthy of state transition time. All the efforts are to accommodate more techniques but yet to make it simpler and easy to use, at the same time consume less power.

[0124] With the emerging new technique, it can be seen that the system / network may have more information about the environment such as data, interference, power on / off of network nodes and UE and therefore, could do a better job in coordinating them to overcome the issues mentioned in dynamic TDD and improve the performance.

[0125] 3. opportunistic dynamic TDD

[0126] The opportunistic dynamic TDD scheme could be used to cope with more dynamic traffic pattern and fully utilize the precious spectrum resource. For example, an opportunistic UL resource can be indicated and used for UL transmission over a DL configured resource, or an opportunistic DL resource can be indicated and used for DL transmission over a UL configured resource. In another words, the configured DL or UL resource in a TDD configuration could be dynamically overwritten or opportunistically allocated and used for traffic transmission for other directions or links. In general, it can be denoted as opportunistic resource allocation / occupancy.

[0127] The opportunistic resource allocation / occupancy could be applied for different scenarios using different manners, which would be described in the following. It should be noted that the illustrated opportunistic resource is just a general illustration. The opportunistic resource can be for different purposes. They can be used for transmission in different links (e.g., Uu (DL / UL)  / SL or non-3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) links) and can be used for transmission of data  / traffic or control signaling including UCI or SCI. They can be used for muting purpose or reserved for other purposes such as supporting legacy UE or other type of services such as URLLC, eMBB, mMTC, immersive communication, hyper reliable, and low-latency communication (HRLLC) , etc.

[0128] In some implementations, serving TRP will collect the information from neighbor cells. The serving TRP and neighbor TRPs could be in coordinated region, where the scheduling information could be exchanged without delay. That means the serving TRP could obtain the scheduling information of the neighbor TRPs timely. In this way, the network would figure out more controlled opportunistic UL or DL resource.

[0129] Please noted that this application does not only cover a single TRP scenario, but also multiple TRP scenario. Different scenarios will need different detailed signaling designs, although the indication method could be unified to more than one scenario.

[0130] FIG. 6 shows an example of an opportunistic dynamical TDD scheme with multiple TRP scenario according to some implementations of the present disclosure. In this scenario, three TRPs (TRP#1~TRP#3) forms a shared scheduling information region. For example, the three TRPs will perform operations such as TRP on / off or sleeping, TRP coordination, interference measurement, traffic / interference prediction and exchange scheduling information among two or more of them. As shown in the figure, TRP#2 and UE#2 are sleeping. UE#1 transmits UL traffic to TRP#1 using an opportunistic resource (i.e., previously configured as DL resource and currently used as UL resource) . Similarly, TRP#3 transmits DL traffic to UE#3 using an opportunistic resource (i.e., previously configured as UL resource and currently used as DL resource) .

[0131] FIG. 7 shows an example of an opportunistic dynamic configuration according to some implementations of the present disclosure.

[0132] In some implementations, the network may configure one semi-static TDD configuration, e.g., TDD configurations shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 7. Then, the network applies the controllable opportunistic dynamic TDD scheme, so the opportunistic resource on top of the semi-static TDD configuration is used for DL / UL transmission. The opportunistic resource allocated may not occupy a whole slot or all resources allocated in frequency (e.g., bandwidths or carriers) configured for TDD. They could only take a fraction of the configured TDD resources depending on the needs. For example, they could take a number of PRB (s) of a configured bandwidth part or one or two of the configured carriers. In another example, the opportunistic resource may only take a number of OFDM symbols in a slot configured for a link (direction) . FIG. 7 shows some examples in which the opportunistically allocated resource could be any resource allocated opportunistically as described in this scheme. With this, it provides enough flexibility for opportunistic resource allocation and fully utilize the spectrum efficiency. For example, a fraction of resources in DL or UL configured resources could be allocated by opportunistic resource allocation and used for traffic transmission of other directions / links. The remaining resources could still be used for transmissions of traffic originally intended by TDD configuration. In some implementations, as shown in FIG. 7, the opportunistic UL resource and opportunistic DL resource could be assigned as a pair of resources.

[0133] As mentioned above, the TDD is used in 4G LTE with more unified configuration across cells. For example, the same TDD configuration can be applied to all cells.

[0134] In 5G NR, to satisfy different traffic needs among cells in a dynamic way, dynamic TDD is introduced which can apply different TDD configurations to different cells. Dynamic TDD transmission could figure out the more chances for UL and DL transmission in a short time. But the data scheduling indications have to lay on the DCI. In addition, data scheduling in DCI is per cell per direction basis. So, UL transmission has to wait for a proper DL indication in DCI, so it will introduce scheduling latency or missing opportunities of UL dynamic TDD transmission. The TDD configuration could be configured more specifically for each cell and could be updated over time. Dynamic TDD structure is semi-static configured, which may include both DL and UL resources for DL and UL transmission respectively. Such TDD configuration could be more gNB / cell specific and could vary across different gNBs / cells to better satisfy various traffic needs (DL or UL) in different gNBs / cells. The DL is transmitted using DL resources and UL traffic is transmitted using UL resource. Such TDD configuration is known to both gNB and UE as aligned understanding and therefore, a UE is not expected to have a DL transmission on UL resources configured, while a gNB is not expected to have an UL transmission on configured DL resources.

[0135] In 5G NR, full duplexing (FD) techniques were studied and specified with focus on subband full duplex (SBFD) , which is to transmit DL signal on one subband while receive UL signal on another subband at the same time.

[0136] And at least one of the following issues exist:

[0137] 1. More configurations need to be supported for different features such as dynamic TDD and SBFD.

[0138] 2. The semi-static configured DL / UL resources for TDD / SBFD could not be changed / updated in a more dynamic manner in order to adapt to more dynamic traffic needs (directions and volume) .

[0139] 3. Dynamic TDD transmission design makes more UL and DL opportunities in one shot, but current UL transmission has to wait for a proper DL indicating DCI, so it will introduce scheduling latency or cause missing opportunities of UL dynamic TDD transmission.

[0140] Accordingly, a method for resource assignment and related signaling design aspect are provided, to fast indication for the usage of dynamic TDD. That is, a signaling design method for a controlled opportunistic dynamic TDD is provided. The method may include at least one of the following aspects:

[0141] 1. Different signaling aspects to indicate paired UL and DL resource assignment respectively.

[0142] 2. Unified or separately signaling design in paired resource assignment, on top of single direction DCI bits.

[0143] 3. Signaling design details to indicate the paired resource in single or multiple component carriers (CCs) .

[0144] 4. Signaling design details to indicate the paired resource in single or multiple TPRs.

[0145] 5. Signaling design details to reduce the number of bits for paired resource assignment indications.

[0146] The methods proposed in this application will be comprehensively and clearly described with FIGs. 8-10.

[0147] The method can be applied to various types of communication systems (e.g., any one of communication system described in FIGs. 1 to 6) . The method may be performed by any one of EDs 110 or a component (e.g., a module, a chip or a circuit) in any one of EDs 110. The method may be performed by any one of network nodes 170 or a component (e.g., a module, a chip or a circuit) in any one of network nodes 170. For example, the method may be performed by a network node at network side and a UE at terminal side.

[0148] FIG. 8 illustrates a signaling diagram of a sensing monitoring method according to some implementations of the present disclosure.

[0149] In some implementations of this method, on the basis of configuring a first set of one or more physical resources for a first transmission direction and a second set of one or more physical resources for a second transmission direction, second information is designed to simultaneously schedule physical resources for data transmission in both the first transmission direction and second transmission direction. This allows UE to perform timely data transmission in both directions, thereby improving the efficiency of the scheduling mechanism.

[0150] In detail, the method includes at least the following steps:

[0151] At step 810, UE obtains first information.

[0152] The first information indicates a first set of one or more physical resources for a first transmission direction and a second set of one or more physical resources for a second transmission direction.

[0153] A set of one or more physical resources (generally refer to the first set and the second set) may refer to one or more time resources in time domain and one or more frequency resources in frequency domain. For example, a time domain resource may include, but is not limited to, a symbol, an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol, or a slot. A frequency resource may include, but is not limited to, a carrier, bandwidth part (BWP) , a subcarrier, or a subband. In some implementations, a physical resource may be defined in both time domain and frequency domain. For example, a resource element (RE) consists of a symbol in a time domain and a subcarrier in a frequency domain. A resource block (RB) consists of a slot in the time domain and 12 consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain. A resource block group (RBG) consists of a group of RBs. In some cases, each physical resource may be assigned / associated with an index and the set of one or more physical resources may be represented by a set of one or more indexes.

[0154] In some implementations, the first set of physical resources and the second set of physical resources may be defined in the TDD scheme. For example, the first set and the second set may not overlap in time domain. Referring back to FIG. 7, the downlink resource of the semi-static configuration of TDD may be taken as an example of the first set and the uplink resource of the semi-static configuration of TDD may be taken as an example of the second set, and vice versa.

[0155] Notably, although only the first set and the second set are introduced at step 810, the first information may indicate two or more sets of physical resources. For example, the first information may further indicate a third set of physical resources for the first transmission direction or the second transmission direction.

[0156] Notably, a set of physical resources may be consecutive or non-consecutive in time domain. Similarly, a set of physical resources may be consecutive or non-consecutive in frequency domain. This depends on the application scenario.

[0157] In some implementations, the first transmission direction is different from the second transmission direction. For example, the first transmission direction may be the uplink (UL) direction, and the second transmission direction may be the downlink (DL) direction. For another example, the first transmission direction may be the DL direction, and the second transmission direction may be the UL direction. For another example, one of the first and second transmission directions may be the sidelink direction, and another may be the UL or DL direction.

[0158] Notably, in some implementations of the present application, a physical resource for DL direction may be referred to as a DL resource or a physical resource for DL transmission; a physical resource for UL direction may be referred to as a UL resource or a physical resource for UL transmission; a physical resource for SL transmission direction may be referred to as an SL resource or a physical resource for SL transmission.

[0159] The UE may obtain the first information in a variety of ways. For example, the first information may be signaled by network. That is, step 810 may be written as: the UE receives first information from the network node. Correspondingly, the network node transmits the first information to the UE. As an instance, the first information may be carried in semi-static signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) signaling, medium access control (MAC) signaling, etc. ) or dynamic signaling (e.g., downlink control information (DCI) ) . For another example, the first information may be pre-defined, e.g., by a standard.

[0160] Notably, when the first information is signaled by the network, the first information may indicate the first set and the second set explicitly or implicitly. For example, the first information may carry the indexes of the physical resources (e.g., RB indexes) of the first set and the second set. For another example, the first set and / or the second set may be associated / assigned with an index, and the first information may carry the set indexes of the first and / or second set. Therefore, UE can determine the location of the first set and the second set based on the first information.

[0161] At step 820, the network node transmits second information to the UE. Correspondingly, the UE receives the second information from the network node.

[0162] The second information indicates at least one first physical resource for the first transmission direction and at least one second physical resource for the second transmission direction.

[0163] At step 830, the UE transmits and receives using the first physical resource and the second physical resource based on the second information.

[0164] The at least one first physical resource is included in the first set or the second set, and the at least one second physical resource is included in the first set or the second set. As mentioned above, the first transmission direction is different from the second transmission direction. In other words, the second information can indicate a pair of physical resources for the first transmission direction and the second transmission direction.

[0165] Notably, although the physical resources of the first set and the second set are associated with a transmission direction by the first information at step 810, the UE may not actually communicate using the physical resources in the directions indicated by the first information. For example, if second information exists, the UE would communicate using the physical resources in the directions indicated by the second information. Notably, the transmission direction indicated by the first information for the first physical resource (or the second physical resource) may be the same as or different from the transmission direction indicated by the second information.

[0166] The second information can indicate physical resources for more than one transmission direction simultaneously, which can reduce scheduling latency. In some implementations, this may be referred to as paired resource assignment. For a first example, the first physical resource is the DL resource, and the second physical resource is the UL resource. For a second example, the first physical resource is the UL resource, and the second physical resource is the DL resource. For a third example, the first physical resource is the DL / UL resource, and the second physical resource is the SL resource. For a fourth example, the first physical resource is the SL resource, and the second physical resource is the DL / UL resource.

[0167] In some implementations, when the first physical resource or the second physical resource is the UL resource, the UL resource may be used for various UL data transmission. In some instances, the UL resource may be further used for at least one of: hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback, channel state information (CSI) , or uplink control information (UCI) , etc. In some implementations, when the first physical resource or the second physical resource is the DL resource, the DL resource may be used for DL data transmission. In some implementations, when the first physical resource or the second physical resource is the SL resource, the SL resource may be used for SL data transmission. In other words, the second information may indicate a pair of physical resources for data transmission, thereby reducing data transmission latency.

[0168] The one signaling indicating both DL and UL resources could be beneficial, due to it could save the indication monitoring and latency. The details could be elaborated in the following:

[0169] In this disclosure, the DL resource includes DL data transmission resources. UL resource at least includes UL data transmission resources, and / or optionally HARQ feedback, and / or CSI (could include other UCIs) feedback resources. An example candidate combination of the paired resources could be as below Table 1. Each row in the first column indicates a pair of physical resources that include the first physical resource and the second resource.

[0170] Table 1

[0171] Notably, in the present application, some examples take a pair of DL and UL resources as an instance. In these examples, “a pair of DL and UL resources” can be replaced with “a pair of DL / UL and SL resources” . Details will not be elaborated hereafter.

[0172] Notably, the indicated first physical resource and second physical resource may form one or more pairing relationships. Each pairing relationship may involve one or more first physical resources and one or more second physical resources. For example, the second information indicates first physical resource#1, first physical resource#2, first physical resource#3, second physical resource#1, second physical resource#2 and second physical resource#3. As an instance, the first physical resource#1, and second physical resource#1 may be paired (e.g., represented by pair-A) , the physical resource#2 and second physical resource#2 may be paired (e.g., represented by pair-B) , and the physical resource#3 and second physical resource#3 may be paired (e.g., represented by pair-C) . As another instance, the first physical resource#1, first physical resource#2, and second physical resource#1 may be paired (e.g., represented by pair-D) , and the first physical resource#3, second physical resource#2 and second physical resource#3 may be paired (e.g., represented by pair-E) . These examples are not intended to be limiting.

[0173] In some implementations, a pair of physical resources may be associated with a type of traffic data, such as ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) , enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) , massive machine-type communications (mMTC) , etc. In some instances, the second information may indicate pair-A, pair-B, and pair-C, where pair-A may be scheduled for URLLC, pair-B may be scheduled for eMBB and pair-C may be scheduled for mMTC.

[0174] The second information may be carried in dynamic signaling. For example, the second information may be carried in DCI. In some implementations, the second information may be carried in one or more physical channels. For example, the second information may be carried in a single-stage DCI, and the single-stage DCI is carried in a PDCCH. For another example, the second information may be carried in a two-stage DCI, and the two-stage DCI may include two parts of DCI, e.g., a 1st-stage DCI and a 2nd-stage DCI, where they are carried in different PDCCHs, or carried via a PDCCH and PDSCH respectively.

[0175] In some implementations, the DCI may be of various formats.

[0176] In a first implementation, the format of the DCI may be: scheduling for the first transmission direction or scheduling for the second transmission direction. For a first example, the format of the DCI may be scheduled for the DL transmission direction, such as scheduling of PDSCH (e.g., format 1_0, format 1_1) . For a second example, the format of the DCI may be scheduled for the UL transmission direction, such as scheduling of PUSCH (e.g., format 0_0, format 0_1) . For a third example, the format of the DCI may be scheduled for the SL (e.g., format 3_0, format 3_1) . In other words, these formats of DCI can be reused to indicate a pair of physical resources.

[0177] In a second implementation, the format of the DCI may be scheduled for both the first transmission direction and the second transmission direction. In other words, a new format of DCI can be designed to indicate both the first transmission direction and the second transmission direction. For example, the format of the DCI may be scheduling for both the DL and UL, or scheduling for both DL / UL and SL.

[0178] The second information can indicate the first physical resource and the second physical resource in a variety of ways. For example, the second information may indicate a location of the first physical resource and the second physical resource in time domain (i.e., time location) . For example, the second information may indicate a location of the first physical resource and the second physical resource in frequency domain (i.e., frequency location) .

[0179] In some implementations, the second information may indicate the location of the first physical resource and the second physical resource in time domain and / or frequency domain explicitly. For example, the second information may carry fields indicating the time location and / or the frequency location of the first physical resource and the second physical resource directly. Notably, the fields carried in the second information may be related to the format of the second information (e.g., DCI format) . The detailed description will be given in conjunction with some examples described later.

[0180] In some other implementations, the second information may indicate the first physical resource and second physical resource implicitly. For example, the first physical resource and the second resource may have a relationship in time domain and / or frequency relationship. For example, the second information is scheduling for the first transmission direction, the second information may carry fields related to the first physical resource, and the UE can determine the second physical resource based on the second information and the relationship. For another example, the second information is scheduling for the second transmission direction, the second information may carry fields related to the second physical resource, and the UE can determine the first physical resource based on the second information and the relationship. Similarly, the detailed description of the fields carried in the second information will be given in conjunction with some examples described later.

[0181] Notably, in the present application, a relationship may be specified by a table (e.g., a look-up table) , a function (e.g., a set of one or more formulas to determine the relationship) , a text (e.g., a text describing the relationship) , a code (e.g., a code from which the relationship can be derived) or a combination thereof.

[0182] In some implementations, the relationship in time domain and / or frequency may be pre-defined (e.g., by standard) or pre-configured (e.g., signaled by the network) . When the relationship is signaled by the network, before step 830, the method may further include step 840.

[0183] Optionally, at step 840, the network node transmits fourth information to UE. Correspondingly, UE receives fourth information from the network node.

[0184] For example, the fourth information may indicate the relationship between the first physical resource and the second physical resource in time domain and / or frequency domain. As an instance, the fourth information may indicate an offset between the first physical resource and the second physical resource in time domain and / or frequency domain.

[0185] Referring back to FIG. 7, as mentioned above, in some cases, opportunistic resource may be pre-configured or pre-defined. In some instances, the first physical resource may be included in the opportunistic resource. In some instances, the second physical resource may be included in the opportunistic resource. In other words, before step 820, the method may further include step 850.

[0186] Optionally, at step 850, the UE obtains third information.

[0187] The third information indicates at least one of: a first part of physical resources of the first set available for the second transmission direction, or a second part of physical resources of the second set available for the first transmission direction. The first part may be referred to as an opportunistic resource. For example, when the first set is for DL transmission direction indicated by the first information, the first part could be referred to as an opportunistic UL resource; when the first set is for UL transmission direction indicated by the first information, the first part could be referred to as an opportunistic DL resource. Similarly, the second part may be referred to as an opportunistic resource. For example, when the second set is for DL transmission direction indicated by the first information, the second part could be referred to as an opportunistic UL resource; when the second set is for UL transmission direction indicated by the first information, the second part could be referred to as an opportunistic DL resource.

[0188] In some implementations, the first physical resource may be included in the second part, and / or the second physical resource may be included in the first part. In other words, the network may schedule part or all of the opportunistic resource for data transmission. For example, the first set is indicated for the first transmission direction by the first information, then a first part of the first set is indicated available for the second transmission direction by the third information, and then the second physical resource of the first part is indicated for the second transmission direction. For another example, the second set is indicated for the second transmission direction by the first information, then a second part of the second set is indicated available for the first transmission direction by the third information, and then the first physical resource of the second part is indicated for the first transmission direction.

[0189] The UE may obtain the third information in a variety of ways. For example, the third information may be signaled by network. That is, the step 850 may be written as: the UE receives third information from the network node. Correspondingly, the network node transmits third information to the UE. As an instance, the third information may be carried in semi-static signaling (e.g., RRC signaling, MAC signaling, etc. ) or dynamic signaling (e.g., DCI) . For another example, the third information may be pre-defined, e.g., by a standard.

[0190] Notably, when both the second information and the third information are signaled by network, the second information and the third information may be carried in the same signaling or different signaling. For a first example, both the second information and the second information may be carried in RRC or MAC signaling. For a second example, the second information is carried in RRC or MAC signaling, and the second information may be carried in DCI signaling. For a third example, both the second information and the third information may be carried in DCI signaling.

[0191] Notably, in some instances, when the first information and the third information are signaled by the network, the first information and the third information may be carried in the same signaling or different signaling.

[0192] The third information may indicate the first part and / or the second part explicitly or implicitly. For example, the third information may indicate the location of the first part and / or second part in time domain and frequency domain. For another example, the third information may indicate energy saving pattern, sleep pattern, or discontinuous transmission (DTX)  / discontinuous reception (DRX) pattern, and the UE may determine the first part and / or the second part based on the indicated pattern.

[0193] The first physical resource and second physical resource may be associated with one or more carriers. For example, the at least one first physical resource and the at least one second physical resource may be included in the same carrier in frequency domain. For another example, the at least one first physical resource may be included in a first carrier. The at least one second physical resource may be included in a second carrier.

[0194] Notably, in the present application, in some implementations, the term “carrier” and term “component carrier (CC) ” may be used interchangeably.

[0195] In some implementations, the second information may further indicate one or more carriers associated with the first physical resource and the second physical resource.

[0196] The first physical resource and second physical resource may be associated with one or more TRPs. For example, at least one first physical resource and at least one second physical resource may be associated with the same TRP. The UE communicates with a TRP using the first physical resource and the second physical resource.

[0197] For another example, at least one first physical resource is associated with a first TRP, and at least one second physical resource is associated with a second TRP. The UE communicates with the first TRP using the first physical resource. The UE communicates with the second TRP using the second physical resource.

[0198] Notably, the communication between the UE and network node is illustrated in FIG. 8 as an example, and at least one associated TRP (s) can be included in the network node. In some cases, some of the associated TRP (s) may be not included in the network node. For example, the first TRP may be included in network node#1, and the second TRP may be included in network node#2. The UE transmits (and / or receive) data using the first physical resource to (and / or from) network node#1, and transmits (and / or receive) data using the second physical resource to (and / or from) network node#2. Notably, in some cases, although not illustrated, all the associated TRP (s) may be not included in the network node that transmits the second information. This depends on application scenarios.

[0199] In some implementations, the second information may further indicate one or more TRPs associated with the first physical resource and the second physical resource. Thus, the UE can communicate with the indicated TRPs based on the second information.

[0200] The carrier (s) associated with the first physical resource and the second physical resource and the TRP (s) associated with the first physical resource and the second physical resource may have a mapping relationship. A TRP may be associated with a single CC or multiple CCs. A CC may be associated with a single TRP or shared among multiple TRPs. In other words, the step 830 may include at least the following implementations:

[0201] Implementation 1: single CC in single TRP: the UE may communicate with a TRP using the first physical resource and the second physical resource, where the first physical resource and the second physical resource are included in the same CC.

[0202] Implementation 2: multiple CCs in single TRP: the UE may communicate with a TRP using the first physical resource and the second physical resource, where the first physical resource and the second physical resource are included in different CCs.

[0203] Implementation 3: single CC in multiple TRPs: the UE may communicate with a first TRP using the first physical resource, and communicate with a second TRP using the second physical resource, where the first physical resource and the second physical resource are included in the same CC.

[0204] Implementation 4: multiple CCs in multiple TRPs: the UE may communicate with a first TRP using the first physical resource, and communicate with a second TRP using the second physical resource, where the first physical resource and the second physical resource are included in different CCs.

[0205] In the following context, some detailed examples on the signaling design for paired resource assignment are described.

[0206] Table 1 High level distribution of different examples.

[0207] Example 1 and Example 2 include instances of implementation 1 (single CC in single TRP) . Example 3 and example include instances of implementation 2 (multiple CCs in single TRP) , implementation 3 (single CC in multiple TRPs) and implementation 4 (multiple CCs in multiple TRPs) . Based on the associated carrier (s) and TRP (s) , these instances can be divided into multiple cases.

[0208] Notably, in some implementations, the first physical resource may be expressed by 1st resource for simplification. The second physical resource may be expressed by 2nd resource for simplification.

[0209] Before introducing the indication of Carrier and TRP information, the below Table 2 provides an example for these cases to show the difference among single carrier / TRP and multiple carriers / TRPs.

[0210] Table 2

[0211] Example 1: Paired resource assignment for more than one resource in a single CC and single TRP case, where the first physical resource is DL resource.

[0212] For example, the paired resource assignment indicates two physical resources, the 1st resource (i.e., the first physical resource) is for DL transmission and the 2nd resource (i.e., the second physical resource) is for UL transmission.

[0213] This example focuses on a single CC and single TRP case, so no obvious description about Carrier and TRP related to paired resource assignment here. But it may still need the information to transmit or receive data. So, the Carrier and / or TRP could be pre-configured by RRC or MAC signaling in advance, or pre-defined e.g., DL carrier and UL carrier are the same carrier, DL TRP and UL TRP are the same TRP, etc.

[0214] In some implementations, several steps are included in example 1.

[0215] At step 0 (optionally) : the network node sends the pre-configured bundling or grouped information pool related to the paired resource assignment via RRC or MAC signaling to UE.

[0216] Alternatively, the pre-configured bundling or grouped information pool could be stored in both the UE and the network node. That is the related information is pre-defined in the standard specification.

[0217] Notably, this step 0 in example 1 may generally refer to the step 810 and / or 840. For example, the pre-configured bundling or grouped information pool may generally refer to first information and / or third information.

[0218] At step 1: the network node sends the dynamic signaling, which indicates at least one information of paired resource assignment from the configured bundling or grouped information pool.

[0219] Notably, this step 1 in example 1 may refer to the step 820. For example, the dynamic signaling may refer to the second information, and the paired resource assignment mat refer to the first physical resource and the second physical resource.

[0220] In some implementations, the dynamic signaling may include at least one UL data resource assignment and at least one DL data resource assignment. For example, the dynamic signaling indicates pair-1.1 (shown in FIG. 9 hereafter) to the UE, then the UE knows how to perform step 2 based on the dynamic signaling.

[0221] In some implementations, the dynamic signaling may include the relationship between all or partial information of the UL data resource assignment and the DL data resource assignment.

[0222] In some implementations, the dynamic signaling is in one signaling, e.g., a single DCI. Alternatively, the dynamic signaling is in a two-stage DCI.

[0223] At step 2: the UE receives the DL data and / or send UL data according to the dynamic signaling.

[0224] Notably, this step 1 in example 1 may refer to the step 830. For example, the UE may receive the DL data on the DL resource indicated by the second information; and / or the UE may transmit the UL data using the UL resource indicated by the second information.

[0225] In some implementations, the data may include user data or control data, for example, the UL data may include UCI.

[0226] In some implementations, all paired resource assignment information in this example could be indicated by a combination of RRC and DCI signaling, or a combination of RRC, MAC and DCI signaling, a combination of MAC and DCI signaling, or DCI signaling.

[0227]

[0228] For illustrative purposes, FIG. 9 illustrates a first example of paired resource assignment according to some implementations of the present disclosure.

[0229] FIG. 9 (a) shows an example of semi-static TDD configuration, where DL (marked as “D” ) , UL (marked as “U” ) and a gap is included in time domain. This can refer to the first set of physical resources and second set of physical resources described in step 810.

[0230] FIG. 8 (b) shows an example of opportunistic resource on top of the semi-static TDD configuration. This can refer to the first part and second part described in step 840.

[0231] FIG. 8 (c) shows examples of paired resource assignment, where it includes pair-1.1~pair-1.6. This can refer to the first physical resource and second physical resource described in step 820.

[0232] In some implementations, different pairs may be used for different traffic. For example, pair-1.1~pair-1.3 may be used for URLLC traffic. For example, pair-1.4 may be used for eMBB traffic. For example, pair-1.5~pair-1.6 may be used for mMTC traffic. This application does not limit this.

[0233] For example, in Pair 1.1, the DL resource firstly comes and UL resource follows. The DL resource is in the semi-static configuration TDD resource and UL resource is in the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource (i.e., the opportunistic UL resource in the figure) . In this case, the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could be indicated in the same signaling or known in advanced by the indication of the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource, energy saving pattern, sleep pattern, or DTX / DRX pattern (e.g., step 840 as described above) .

[0234] For example, in Pair 1.2, the DL resource firstly comes and UL resource follows. The DL resource and UL resource are in the semi-static configuration TDD resource.

[0235] For example, in Pair 1.3, the DL resource firstly comes and UL resource follows. The DL resource is in the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource (i.e., the opportunistic DL resource in the figure) and UL resource is in the semi-static configuration TDD resource. The description for the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could refer back to above content, for example, Pair 1.1.

[0236] For example, in Pair 1.4, the DL resource firstly comes and UL resource follows. The DL resource and UL resource are in the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource. The description for the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could refer back to above content, for example, Pair 1.1.

[0237] For example, in Pair 1.5 and Pair 1.6, the DL and UL resources could be more than one resources, which are in discontinuous resources allocations. The description for the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could refer back to above content, for example, Pair 1.1.

[0238] In this example 1, the structure of dynamic signaling in step 2 (i.e., the second information) could be:

[0239] Option 1: new DCI format to indicate the paired resources assignment, on top of DL scheduling DCI and UL scheduling DCI. Here, DL scheduling DCI includes DL resources assignment, and don’t include UL resource assignment for data transmission. In other words, it is one direction data scheduling indication. The same meaning goes for the UL scheduling DCI. In other words, a new format of DCI can be designed to indicate both the UL and DL. The DCI may include at least one field for UL and at lest one field for DL.

[0240] Option 2: new additional DCI content based on DL scheduling DCI. In this case, the bit field of DL scheduling DCI content is the baseline, and then some UL scheduling related content will be added to the end of the bit field of DL scheduling DCI content. In other words, the DCI may be of an existing format scheduling for DL, and new field for UL may be added to the content of DL scheduling DCI.

[0241] Option 3: new additional DCI content based on UL scheduling DCI. In this case, the bit field of UL scheduling DCI content is the baseline, and then some UL scheduling related content will be added to the end of the bit field of UL scheduling DCI content. In other words, the DCI may be of an existing format scheduling for UL, and new field of DL may be added to the content of UL scheduling DCI.

[0242] Option 4: reuse the existing DCI for DL scheduling DCI or UL scheduling DCI. In this case, there are a relationship between the DL resource assignment and the UL resource assignment in advance. For example, based on a DL scheduling DCI, the UE will deduce the UL resource assignment based on the relationship. In some relationship, the relationship could be preconfigured via RRC signaling or pre-defined in the standard specification. In other words, the DCI may be of an existing format scheduling for UL or DL and may not require adding additional field, as the UE can determine another physical resource based on the field of one physical resource in the DCI and the relationship.

[0243] The time domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling (i.e., examples of time-related information of the second information) could be:

[0244] Option 1 of paired time domain indication: using the first, last symbol or of first physical resource as reference, introduce one bitfield to indicate the offset from the reference and duration, e.g., one bitfield is 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 bits.

[0245] Option 2 of paired time domain indication: using the slot#boundary of the slot where first physical resource is transmitted as reference (e.g., the start of the slot#) , introduce one bitfield to indicate the offset from the reference and duration, e.g., one bitfield is 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 bits.

[0246] Option 3 of paired time domain indication: reusing PDSCH to HARQ timing to indicate UL, and introduce one bitfield to indicate the UL duration optionally, e.g., one bitfield is 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 bits.

[0247] Option 4 of paired time domain indication: the offset / interval of the different resource in time domain could be pre-configured via RRC signaling, or predefined in the standard specification.

[0248] Please note that the first physical resource as reference is an example. Other solution could make second physical resource information as reference, and then obtain the first physical resource assignment according to the information of the first physical resource.

[0249] The frequency domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling (i.e., examples of frequency-related parameters of the second information) could be:

[0250] Option 1 of paired frequency domain indication: using the first or last resource block (RB)  / resource block group (RBG) of first physical resource as reference, introduce one bitfield to resource the RBG number offset from the reference and RBG number, e.g., one bitfield is bits, or block group number 1, block group number 2…, block group number The represents the number of RBs in a downlink bandwidth part. The represents the number of RBGs in a downlink BWP.

[0251] Option 2 of paired frequency domain resource: using the first or last RB / RBG of BWP or Carrier, where first physical resource is transmitted as reference, introduce one bitfield to indicate the RB / RBG number offset from the reference and RB / RBG number, e.g., same with option 1.

[0252] Option 3 of paired frequency domain resource: introduce at least one additional UL block for UL transmission, and also include the UL block number indication, e.g., each block bit number is same or smaller than option 1.

[0253] Option 4 of paired frequency domain resource: using PUCCH resource as reference, introduce one bitfield to indicate the RB / RBG number offset from the reference and RB / RBG number, e.g., same with option 1.

[0254] Option 5 of paired frequency domain indication: the offset / interval of the different resource in frequency domain could be pre-configured via RRC signaling, or predefined in the standard specification.

[0255] Please note that the first physical resource as reference is an example. Other solution could make second physical resource information as reference, and then obtain the first resource assignment according to the information of the first physical resource.

[0256] In this example 1, the Bandwidth part indicator of dynamic signaling could as below, where the Bandwidth part indicator and frequency domain resource assignment belong to frequency domain related information.

[0257] Option 1: introduce new indication for uplink BWP, e.g., 1-2 bits to indicate uplink BWP.

[0258] Option 2: use the same value with the indication of DL BWP.

[0259] The example of dynamic signaling (i.e., examples of the second information) could be:

[0260] Option 1: all paired resource assignments could be indicated by only DCI.

[0261] Option 2: all paired resource assignments could be indicated by RRC configuration firstly and then DCI indication. e.g., one possible solution is to indicate time domain resource allocation for DL data and UL data by RRC configuration, and other information is carried by DCI. Such information indication method can be updated by RRC configuration or other signaling.

[0262] In some implementations, one candidate way is that it bundles or makes a set for at least two pieces of information, and uses the unified indexing for the remaining information. In this way, it could further reduce the DCI bit size, for saving the spectrum cost. E. g., bunding UL and DL time domain information, in this way, one unified index could indicate both UL and DL data time domain information. In one possible solution is RRC configuration one table for time domain resource assignment, one row index indicates: UL data transmission that at least includes information of starting UL symbol and UL length duration, DL data transmission that at least includes information of starting DL symbol and DL length duration. This above information could be indicated by explicit way, e.g., starting symbol index, consecutive symbols for length duration or start and length indicator value (SLIV) , or be indicated by implicit way, e.g., using one direction information and gap information between DL and UL.

[0263] SLIV to starting symbol and length mapping could be as below: The starting symbol S relative to the start of the slot, and the number of consecutive symbols L counting from the symbol S allocated for the PUSCH are determined from the start and length indicator SLIV of the indexed row: if (L-1) ≤7 then SLIV=14· (L-1) +S else SLIV=14· (14-L+1) + (14-1-S) where 0<L≤14-S

[0264] Example 2: Paired resource assignment for more than one resource in a single CC and single TRP case, where the first physical resource is UL resource.

[0265] For example, the paired resource assignment indicates two physical resources, the 1st resource (i.e., the first physical resource) is UL resource and 2nd resource (i.e., the second physical resource) is DL resource.

[0266] This example focuses on a single CC and single TRP case, so no obvious description about Carrier and TRP related to paired resource assignment here.

[0267] Steps are same with above example 1.

[0268] This case focuses on single CC and single TRP, so no CC and TRP related to paired resource assignment.

[0269] Similar to example 1, the one signaling indicating both UL and DL resources could be beneficial, due to it could save the indication monitoring and latency.

[0270] For illustrative purposes, FIG. 10 shows a detailed example for different pairs: Pair-2.1~Pair-2.6. Same assumption is used as shown in FIG. 9 (a) ~ (b) .

[0271] In some implementations, different pairs may be used for different traffic. For example, pair-2.1~pair-2.3 may be used for URLLC traffic. For example, pair-2.4 may be used for eMBB traffic. For example, pair-2.5~pair-2.6 may be used for mMTC traffic. This application does not limit this.

[0272] For example, in Pair 2.1, the UL resource firstly comes and DL resource follows. The UL resource is in the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource and DL resource is in the semi-static configuration TDD resource. In this case, the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could be indicated in the same signaling or known in advanced by the indication of the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource, energy saving pattern, sleep pattern, or DTX / DRX pattern (e.g., step 840 as described above) .

[0273] For example, in Pair 2.2, the UL resource firstly comes and DL resource follows. The UL resource is in the semi-static configuration TDD resource and the DL resource is in the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource. The description for the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could refer back to above content, for example, is the same with Pair 2.1.

[0274] For example, in Pair 2.3, the UL resource firstly comes and DL resource follows. The UL resource is in the semi-static configuration TDD resource and DL resource is in the semi-static configuration TDD resource.

[0275] For example, in Pair 2.4, the UL resource firstly comes and DL resource follows. The UL resource and DL resource are in the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource. The description for the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could refer back to above content, for example, Pair 2.1.

[0276] For example, in Pair 2.5 and Pair 2.6, the DL and UL resources could be more than one resources, which are in discontinuous resources allocations. The description for the opportunistic dynamic TDD resource could refer back to above content, for example, Pair 2.1.

[0277] In this example 2, the structure of dynamic signaling could be same with example 1, which can also refer to description of second information in FIG. 8.

[0278] In this example 2, the time domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling could be:

[0279] Option 1 of paired time domain indication: could be same with option 1 in example 1.

[0280] Option 2 of paired time domain indication: could be same with option 2 in example 1.

[0281] Option 3 of paired time domain indication: reusing “Minimum applicable scheduling offset indicator” to indicate DL, and introduce one bitfield to indicate the UL duration optionally, e.g., one bitfield is 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 bits.

[0282] Option 4 of paired time domain indication: could be same with option 4 in example 1.

[0283] Please note that first physical resource as reference is an example. Other solution could make second physical resource information as reference, and then obtain the first physical resource assignment according to the information of the second physical resources.

[0284] In this example 2, the frequency domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling could be:

[0285] Option 1 of paired frequency domain resource: could be same with option 1 in example 1.

[0286] Option 2 of paired frequency domain resource: could be same with option 2 in example 1.

[0287] Option 3 of paired frequency domain resource: introduce at least one additional DL block for Downlink transmission, and also includes the DL block number indication, e.g., each block bit number could be same with option 3 in example 1.

[0288] Option 4 of paired frequency domain resource: using sounding reference signal (SRS) resource as reference, introduce one bitfield to indicate the RB / RBG number offset from the reference and RB / RBG number, e.g., same with option 1 of example 1.

[0289] Option 5 of paired frequency domain indication: could be same with option 5 in example 1.

[0290] Please note that the first physical resource as reference is an example. Other solution could make second physical resource information as reference, and then obtain the first physical resource assignment according to the information of the second physical resources.

[0291] In this example 2, the bandwidth part indicator of dynamic signaling could as below, where the bandwidth part indicator and frequency domain resource assignment belong to frequency domain related information.

[0292] Option 1: introduce new indication for DL BWP, e.g., 1-2 bits to indicate DL BWP.

[0293] Option 2: use the same value with the indication of UL BWP.

[0294] Example 3: paired resource assignment for more than one resource in a multiple CCs and / or multiple TRPs case, where the first physical resource is DL.

[0295] For example, the paired resource assignment indicates two resources, the 1st resource is DL and 2nd resource is UL.

[0296] This example focuses on a multiple CCs and / or multiple TRPs case, so it adds the carrier and TRP related to paired resource assignment on top of example 1. Others are the same with example 1, which can also refer to related description in FIG. 8.

[0297] Generally, steps are same with example 1.

[0298] In this example 3, the structure of dynamic signaling could be same with example 1.

[0299] In this example 3, the time domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling could be same with example 1.

[0300] In this example 3, the frequency domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling could be same with example 1.

[0301] In this example 3, the bandwidth part indicator of dynamic signaling could be same with example 1.

[0302] In this example 3, the carrier indicator of dynamic signaling is as below, where the carrier indicator and scheduled cell set indicator belong to carrier related information.

[0303] Option 1: introduce new indication for downlink carrier, e.g., 1, 2, or 3 bits to indicate downlink carrier numbers, or scheduled cells indicator, IDL by pre-configured is the number of entries,

[0304] Option 2: no indication for DL separately, but the bundle indication for UL and DL by new adjacent CCs configuration.

[0305] In this example 3, the scheduled cell set indicator of dynamic signaling is to introduce new indication for uplink Scheduled cell set, e.g.,  bits, where Nset is the number of cell sets by pre-configured.

[0306] In this example 3, the transmission configuration indication (TCI) of dynamic signaling may be:

[0307] Option 1: introduce new indication for uplink TCI, e.g., 1, 2 or 3 bits, or bits, where ITCI is the number of entries by pre-configured.

[0308] Option 2: no bitfield of uplink TCI.

[0309] Example 4: paired resource assignment for more than one resource in a multiple CC and / or multiple TRP case, where the first physical resource is UL.

[0310] For example, the paired resource assignment indicates two resources, the 1st resource is UL and 2nd resource is DL.

[0311] This example focuses on a multiple CCs and / or multiple TRPs case, so it adds the Carrier and TRP related to paired resource assignment on top of example 2. Others are the same with example 2, which may also refer to related description in FIG. 8.

[0312] Generally, steps are same with example 2.

[0313] In this example 4, the structure of dynamic signaling could be same with example 2

[0314] In this example 4, the time domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling could be same with example 2.

[0315] In this example 4, the frequency domain resource assignment of dynamic signaling could be same with example 2.

[0316] In this example 4, the bandwidth part indicator of dynamic signaling could be same with example 2.

[0317] In this example 4, the carrier indicator of dynamic signaling is as below, where the carrier indicator and scheduled cell set indicator belong to carrier related information.

[0318] Option 1: introduce new indication for UL carrier, e.g., 1, 2, or 3 bits to indicate UL carrier numbers, or scheduled cells indicator, IUL by pre-configured is the number of entries,

[0319] Option 2: no indication for UL separately, but the bundle indication for UL and DL by new adjacent CCs configuration.

[0320] In this example 4, the Scheduled cell set indicator of dynamic signaling is to introduce new indication for DL scheduled cell set, e.g.  bits, where Nset is the number of cell sets by pre-configured.

[0321] In this example 4, the TCI of dynamic signaling may be:

[0322] Option 1: introduce new indication for DL TCI, e.g., 1, 2 or 3 bits, or bits, where ITCI is the number of entries by pre-configured.

[0323] Option 2: no bitfield of DL TCI.

[0324] In the above examples, on the basis of configuring a first set of one or more physical resources for a first transmission direction and a second set of one or more physical resources for a second transmission direction, second information is designed to simultaneously schedule physical resources for data transmission in both first transmission direction and second transmission direction. This allows UE to perform timely data transmission in both directions, thereby improving the efficiency of scheduling mechanism.

[0334] In some implementations, the apparatus 510 may be a UE or a component (e.g., a chip, a circuit, or a processing system) that can be configured in the UE; or the communication apparatus 510 may be a network side (network node) or a component (e.g., a chip, a circuit, or a processing system) that can be configured in the network side (network node) ; or the communication apparatus 510 may be a third device or a component (e.g., a chip, a circuit, or a processing system) that can be configured in the third device.

[0335] In a solution, the apparatus 510 is configured to perform the operations performed by the UE in the foregoing method implementations.

[0336] For example, the processor unit 511 may be configured to perform a processing-related operation performed by the UE in the foregoing method implementations, and the communication unit 513 may be configured to perform a communicating-related (e.g., receiving / transmitting-related) operation performed by the UE in the foregoing method implementations.

[0337] In another solution, the apparatus 510 is configured to perform the operations performed by the network side (network node) in the foregoing method implementations.

[0338] For example, the processor unit 511 may be configured to perform a processing-related operation performed by the network side (network node) in the foregoing method implementations, and the communication unit 513 may be configured to perform a communicating-related (e.g., receiving / transmitting-related) operation performed by the network side (network node) in the foregoing method implementations.

[0339] An implementation of this application further provides a computer-readable storage medium. The computer-readable storage medium stores computer instructions used to implement the method performed by the UE, or the method performed by the network side (network node) in the foregoing method implementations.

[0340] For example, when the computer program is executed by a computer, the computer may be enabled to implement the method performed by the UE, or the method performed by the network side (network node) in the foregoing method implementations.

[0341] An implementation of this application further provides a computer program product including instructions. When the instructions are executed by a computer, the computer is enabled to implement the method performed by the UE, or the method performed by the network side (network node) , in the foregoing method implementations.

[0342] An implementation of this application further provides a communication system. The communication system includes the UE and the network side (network node) in the foregoing implementations. Optionally, the communication system further includes the third device in the foregoing implementations.

[0343] For explanations and beneficial effects of related content of any communication apparatus provided above, refer to a corresponding method implementation provided above. Details are not described herein again.

[0344] A person of ordinary skill in the art may be aware that, in combination with the examples described in implementations disclosed in this specification, units and methods may be implemented by electronic hardware or a combination of computer software and electronic hardware. Whether the functions are performed by hardware or software depends on particular applications and design constraints of the technical solutions. A person skilled in the art may use different methods to implement the described functions for each particular application, but it should not be considered that the implementation goes beyond the protection scope of this application.

[0345] It should be noted that the term “receive” or “receiving” used herein may refer to receiving or otherwise obtaining from an element / component in same apparatus or from another device separate from the apparatus. Similarly, the term “transmit” or “transmitting” may refer to outputting or sending to / for an element / component in same apparatus or to / for another device separate from the apparatus. For example, any of the methods / procedures described herein may be performed by a chipset, in which case any sending or receiving steps may occur between elements of the chipset.

[0346] It may be clearly understood by a person skilled in the art that, for the purpose of convenient and brief description, for a detailed working process of the foregoing apparatus and unit, refer to a corresponding process in the foregoing method implementation. Details are not described herein again.

[0347] In the several implementations provided in this application, the disclosed apparatuses and methods may be implemented in other manners. For example, the described apparatus implementation is merely an example. For example, division into the units is merely logical function division and may be other division in an actual implementation. For example, a plurality of units or components may be combined or integrated into another system, or some features may be ignored or not performed. In addition, the displayed or discussed mutual couplings or direct couplings or communication connections may be implemented through some interfaces. The indirect couplings or communication connections between the apparatuses or units may be implemented in electronic forms, mechanical forms, or other forms.

[0349] In addition, function units in implementations of this application may be integrated into one unit, or each of the units may exist alone physically, or two or more units may be integrated into one unit.

[0350] In the present disclosure, the terms “a” or “an” are defined to mean “at least one” , that is, these terms do not exclude a plural number of items, unless stated otherwise.

[0351] In the present disclosure, terms such as “substantially” , “generally” and “about” , which modify a value, condition or characteristic of a feature of an example implementation, should be understood to mean that the value, condition or characteristic is defined within tolerances that are acceptable for the proper operation of the example implementation for its intended application.

[0352] In the present disclosure, unless stated otherwise, the terms “connected” and “coupled” , and derivatives and variants thereof, refer herein to any structural or functional connection or coupling, either direct or indirect, between two or more elements. For example, the connection or coupling between the elements can be acoustical, mechanical, optical, electrical, thermal, logical, or any combinations thereof.

[0353] In the present disclosure, expressions such as “match” , “matching” and “matched” , including variants and derivatives thereof, are intended to refer herein to a condition in which two or more elements are either the same or within some predetermined tolerance of each other. That is, these terms are meant to encompass not only “exactly” or “identically” matching the two elements but also “substantially” , “approximately” or “subjectively” matching the two or more elements, as well as providing a higher or best match among a plurality of matching possibilities.

[0354] In the present disclosure, the expression “based on” is intended to mean “based at least partly on” , that is, this expression can mean “based solely on” or “based partially on” , and so should not be interpreted in a limited manner. More particularly, the expression “based on” could also be understood as meaning “depending on” , “representative of” , “indicative of” , “associated with” or similar expressions.

[0355] In the present disclosure, the terms "system" and "network" may be used interchangeably in different implementations of this application. "At least one" means one or more, and "a plurality of" means two or more. The term "and / or" describes an association relationship of associated objects, and indicates that three relationships may exist. For example, A and / or B may indicate the following three cases: Only A exists, both A and B exist, and only B exists, where A and B may be singular or plural. The character " / " indicates an "or" relationship between associated objects. "At least one of the following items (pieces) " or a similar expression thereof indicates any combination of these items, including a single item (piece) or any combination of a plurality of items (pieces) . For example, "at least one of A, B, or C" includes: only A; only B; only C; A and B; A and C; B and C; or A, B, and C, and "at least one of A, B, and C" may also be understood as including: only A; only B; only C; A and B; A and C; B and C; or A, B, and C. In addition, unless otherwise specified, ordinal numbers such as "first" and "second" in implementations of this application are used to distinguish between a plurality of objects, and are not used to limit a sequence, a time sequence, priorities, or importance of the plurality of objects.

[0356] A person skilled in the art should understand that implementations of this application may be provided as a method, an apparatus (or system) , computer-readable storage medium, or a computer program product. Therefore, this application may use a form of a hardware-only implementation, a software-only implementation, or an implementation with a combination of software and hardware. Moreover, this application may use a form of a computer program product that is implemented on one or more computer-usable storage media (including but not limited to a disk memory, an optical memory, and the like) that include computer-usable program code.
