[0001] Cross-references to related applications

[0002] This application claims priority to Chinese patent applications filed on April 14, 2025, entitled “Wheel-driven load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system and energy storage method” and “Load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system”, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field

[0003] This application relates to the field of gravity energy storage technology, and more specifically, to a load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system and energy storage method. Background Technology

[0004] New power generation technologies such as wind and solar power have emerged and are gradually increasing their proportion in energy utilization. However, renewable energy sources, primarily wind and solar power, are characterized by randomness, volatility, and intermittency, making them unstable energy sources that cannot fully meet societal electricity demands. Therefore, energy storage systems are needed to regulate power generation and consumption. Current energy storage forms include gravity storage, electrochemical storage, chemical storage, and thermal storage. However, electrochemical, chemical, and thermal storage suffer from energy loss issues, making them unsuitable for long-term storage, and they generally have stability and reliability problems. Gravity storage methods such as pumped hydro storage and flywheel storage have high requirements for terrain and space, making widespread deployment difficult. Therefore, gravity storage, which generates power based on elevation differences, is gradually gaining attention. Existing gravity storage systems use large loads to raise and lower the energy storage blocks sequentially for charging and discharging; however, the intermittent loads generated by raising and lowering the energy storage blocks sequentially present technical problems of discontinuous charging and discharging.

[0084] Example

[0085] This embodiment provides a load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system and energy storage method; please refer to Figures 1-19. The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system shown in Figures 1-5 and 11-15 shows a pair of load-bearing cables and a pair of traction cables. The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system shown in Figures 6-9 and 16-19 shows two pairs of load-bearing cables and a pair of traction cables. The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system shown in Figures 1-9 shows that the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are both steering wheels 150. The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system shown in Figures 11-19 shows that the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are both drums 160.

[0086] The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system provided in this embodiment can be used to store electrical energy, especially electrical energy generated by wind power and photovoltaic power generation technologies, and can also be used to generate continuous discharge.

[0087] Referring to Figures 1-19, the cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system includes a first steering structure 130, a second steering structure 140, a transport device 200, an energy storage device 300, a drive device 400, and a power generation device 500. It also includes at least one pair of support cables 110 configured to support the transport device 200 and at least one pair of traction cables 120 configured to traction the transport device 200. The energy storage device 300 is detachably connected to the transport device 200. Multiple transport devices 200 are connected to the traction cables 120 along the direction of rotation of the traction cables 120. Optionally, each transport device 200 is located between the paired support cables and the paired traction cables. In one embodiment, the cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system further includes a storage yard configured to store the energy storage device 300. In one embodiment, the load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system further includes a transfer device; the energy storage device 300 is transported back and forth between the storage yard and the transport device 200 via the transfer device to achieve charging, energy storage and discharging.

[0088] The traction cable 120 circulates between the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140; the first steering structure 130 is located at a low altitude; the second steering structure 140 is located at a high altitude relative to the low altitude; wherein the altitude of the high altitude is higher than that of the low altitude. Optionally, transfer equipment is provided at both the low and high altitude locations. Optionally, storage yards are provided at both the low and high altitude locations.

[0089] The drive unit 400 is connected to the first steering structure 130 and / or the second steering structure 140 to drive the traction cable 120 to rotate in the first direction, that is, the drive unit 400 can drive the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 to rotate around the first direction. All transport devices 200 travel under the traction of the traction cable 120, so that multiple energy storage devices 300 can be successively transported to high altitudes along the carrying cable 110, thereby converting electrical energy into gravitational potential energy for storage and realizing the charging function. Specifically, the drive unit 400 is connected to the first steering structure 130, or the drive unit 400 is connected to the second steering structure 140, or the drive unit 400 is connected to both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140.

[0090] The power generation device 500 is connected to the first steering structure 130 and / or the second steering structure 140. Multiple transport devices 200 carrying energy storage devices 300 travel along the support cable 110 to successively transport the multiple energy storage devices 300 to a low altitude, forming a continuous gravity flow. Simultaneously, the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are driven to rotate along the traction cable 120 in a second direction to drive the power generation device 500 to generate electricity, converting the continuous gravity flow into a continuous energy flow, thereby achieving continuous discharge. The first direction is opposite to the second direction; for example, if the first direction is clockwise, the second direction is counterclockwise, and vice versa. In this embodiment, the drive device 400 drives the traction cable 120 to pull the transport device 200 along the support cable 110 via the steering structure, transporting the energy storage devices 300 up and down, so that the gravity flow formed by the continuous online movement of several energy storage devices 300 is converted into a continuous energy flow, thereby achieving continuous charging and discharging.

[0091] Optionally, both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are connected to a bracket. For example, the bracket is connected to the ground, and both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are supported by the bracket.

[0092] The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system described in this embodiment uses paired traction cables 120 to drive the energy storage device 300 to move, and paired load-bearing cables 110 to bear the load of the energy storage device 300. Compared with using a single cable for both load bearing and traction, this system has higher reliability and stability. By circulating the traction cables 120 between the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140, the energy storage device 300 can be transported successively by the transport device 200. This not only improves the system's transport capacity but also provides a continuous gravity flow. The continuous gravity flow can be converted into a continuous energy flow by the power generation device 500, thereby achieving continuous discharge.

[0093] Referring to Figures 1-17, in the optional scheme of this embodiment, the axial direction of the first steering structure 130 and the axial direction of the second steering structure 140 are both parallel to the horizontal direction. This means that both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 rotate around an axis parallel to the horizontal direction. Compared to steering structures that rotate around an axis parallel to the vertical direction, the rotation method of the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 in this embodiment requires less ground space, has simpler terrain requirements, and is easier to install on more sloping terrain. Simultaneously, the smaller installation space facilitates the simultaneous installation of multiple systems, which can increase system capacity and enable high-power energy storage / discharge.

[0094] In one embodiment, the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are respectively a steering wheel 150 or a drum 160, that is, the first steering structure 130 is a steering wheel 150 or a drum 160, and the second steering structure 140 is a steering wheel 150 or a drum 160.

[0095] Optionally, as shown in Figures 1-4 and 7, when the first steering structure 130 or the second steering structure 140 is a steering wheel 150, the number of steering wheels 150 located at low altitude or high altitude is the same as the number of traction cables 120. That is, the number of the first steering structure 130, the number of the second steering structure 140 and the number of traction cables 120 are the same. For example, when the number of traction cables 120 is a pair, the number of the first steering structure 130 and the number of the second steering structure 140 are each two.

[0096] The steering wheel 150 is provided with a groove that mates with the traction cable 120; all the steering wheels 150 located at low altitude or high altitude are connected by a coupling, and the drive device 400 or the generator 500 is connected to the coupling respectively, so that the drive device 400 or the generator 500 respectively drive all the steering wheels 150 located at low altitude or high altitude through the coupling, so that all the steering wheels 150 located at low altitude or all the steering wheels 150 located at high altitude rotate synchronously.

[0097] Optionally, as shown in Figures 11-14 and 17, when the first steering structure 130 or the second steering structure 140 is a drum 160, the drum 160 is provided with a number of grooves consistent with the number of all traction cables 120, and the drive device 400 or the generator 500 is respectively connected to the drum shaft of the drum 160. That is, a drum 160 is provided at the low altitude position and configured to be rotatably connected to all traction cables 120; a drum 160 is also provided at the high altitude position and configured to be rotatably connected to all traction cables 120.

[0098] In this embodiment, the first steering structure 130 or the second steering structure 140 passes through a wheel groove to increase the friction between the traction cable 120 and the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140, and also to prevent the traction cable 120 from detaching from the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140.

[0099] In this embodiment, the drive unit 400 can be positioned at a low altitude to drive and connect to the first steering structure 130, or at a high altitude to drive and connect to the second steering structure 140, or the drive unit 400 can be positioned at both low and high altitudes to drive and connect the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140. When the drive unit 400 is located at a high altitude, the load during the energy storage process can be reduced; when located at a low altitude, the installation of the drive unit 400 is facilitated. [0104] The cable-driven gravity flow energy storage system also includes a traction guide device 126; traction guide devices 126 are installed at both low and high altitudes; a traction inclined section 123 is located between the traction guide devices 126 at the low and high altitudes. The traction inclined section 123 is, for example, located on a hillside between the low and high altitudes. The traction guide device 126 facilitates the guidance of the traction cable 120, allowing it to be guided from an inclined state to a horizontal state, and vice versa. The two traction guide sections 122 facilitate the transfer of the energy storage device 300.

[0105] Referring to Figures 1-7 and 11-17, in an optional embodiment, the load-bearing cable 110 includes two load-bearing fixed sections 111, two load-bearing guide sections 112, and one load-bearing inclined section 113; the load-bearing guide section 112 is connected between the load-bearing fixed section 111 and the load-bearing inclined section 113. That is, the load-bearing cable 110 includes the load-bearing fixed section 111, the load-bearing guide section 112, the load-bearing inclined section 113, the load-bearing guide section 112, and the load-bearing fixed section 111 connected sequentially. In this embodiment, the load-bearing cable 110 is in a polygonal shape.

[0107] The end of each carrying cable 110 passes sequentially through the carrying guide device and the carrying support device 115 and is fixedly connected to the carrying fixing device 114; the carrying fixing section 111 is located between the carrying fixing device 114 and the carrying support device 115, the carrying guide section 112 is located between the carrying support device 115 and the carrying guide device, and the carrying inclined section 113 is located between the carrying guide device at low altitude and the carrying guide device at high altitude; the two carrying guide sections 112 are used to facilitate the transfer of the energy storage device 300 at low altitude and high altitude, and the carrying fixing section 111 is used to fix the end of the carrying cable 110.

[0108] Optionally, the load-bearing fixing device 114 may be anchored or fixed in other ways.

[0109] Optionally, the traction guide section 122 is parallel to the horizontal direction; the parallelism of the traction guide section 122 to the horizontal direction facilitates the transfer of the energy storage device 300.

[0110] Optionally, the load-bearing guide section 112 is parallel to the horizontal direction; the parallelism of the load-bearing guide section 112 to the horizontal direction facilitates the transfer of the energy storage device 300.

[0111] Optionally, the first traction cable is connected to the top of the first steering structure 130, and the second traction cable is connected to the bottom of the first steering structure 130; that is, the first traction cable is connected to the top of the second steering structure 140, and the second traction cable is connected to the bottom of the second steering structure 140. The position of the traction guide section 122 of the first traction cable corresponds to the position of the load-bearing guide section 112, and the position of the traction tilt section 123 of the first traction cable corresponds to the position of the load-bearing tilt section 113. This design helps to improve the stability and accuracy of the transport device 200 during movement.

[0112] Referring to Figures 5, 8, 15 and 18, in the optional embodiment, the transport device 200 includes a transport frame 210, a connecting frame 220, a set of walking wheels 230 and a rope connection structure 240.

[0113] As shown in Figures 5 and 8, when both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are steering wheels 150, the connecting frame 220 is a suspension frame 221, which is rotatably connected to the carrier frame 210; for example, the suspension frame 221 can rotate 360 degrees on the carrier frame 210. Because the suspension frame 221 is rotatably connected to the carrier frame 210, the energy storage device 300 connected to the suspension frame 221 can always be in a suspended state.

[0114] As shown in Figures 15 and 18, when at least one of the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 is a drum 160, the connecting frame 220 is a support frame 222, which is fixedly connected to the transport frame 210. When the transport device 200 travels along the traction cable 120, when the transport device 200 travels along the first traction cable section (the first traction cable section is connected to the top of the first steering structure 130, which can be understood as the first traction cable section being the upward route of the transport device 200), the energy storage device 300 is connected through the support frame 222 and located above the transport frame 210; when the transport device 200 travels along the second traction cable section (the second traction cable section is connected to the bottom of the first steering structure 130, which can be understood as the second traction cable section being the downward route of the transport device 200), the energy storage device 300 has been unloaded from the support frame 222, and the support frame 222 is located below the transport frame 210.

[0115] In one embodiment, the energy storage device 300 is detachably connected to the connecting frame 220, that is, the energy storage device 300 is detachably connected to the suspension frame 221, or the energy storage device 300 is detachably connected to the support frame 222.

[0116] In one embodiment, at least one pair of walking wheel sets 230 are disposed on both sides of the carrier frame 210; the walking wheel sets 230 are configured to walk on the support cable 110; the number of walking wheel sets 230 is the same as the number of support cables 110.

[0117] In one embodiment, at least one pair of rope connection structures 240 are rotatably connected to both sides of the transport frame 210; the rope connection structure 240 is fixedly connected to the traction cable 120, and the rotation axis of the rope connection structure 240 forms an angle with the extension direction of the traction cable 120. Optionally, the rotation axis of the rope connection structure 240 is perpendicular to the extension direction of the traction cable 120. The rope connection structure 240 is rotatably connected to the transport frame 210 to facilitate the movement of the transport device 200 along the annular traction cable 120. By using paired rope connection structures 240 to connect the transport frame 210, the stability of the transport device 200 during movement is improved. In this embodiment, the number of pairs of rope connection structures 240 can be selected based on factors such as the material and connection strength of the rope connection structures 240.

[0118] Referring to Figures 9, 10, and 19, in the optional embodiment, each traction cable 120 is looped. The rope connection structure 240 can take various forms, such as a claw type or a locking mechanism. For example, the rope connection structure 240 includes a rope connection body 241 and a claw 242; the claw 242 is fixedly connected to the end of the rope connection body 241, and the jaws 243 of the claw 242 face the centerline of the traction cable 120; by having the jaws 243 of the claw 242 face the centerline of the traction cable 120, the claw 242 can move with the traction cable 120, reducing the rotational interference of the rope connection structure 240 at the first turning structure 130 or the second turning structure 140 when the transport device 200 rotates to the first turning structure 130 or the second turning structure 140, so that the rope connection structure 240 can pass smoothly through the first turning structure 130 or the second turning structure 140.

[0119] The gripper 242 is fixedly connected to the traction cable 120. A transport bearing 244 is connected between the rope connection body 241 and the transport frame 210. The transport bearing 244 reduces the friction between the rope connection body 241 and the transport frame 210, which helps the transport device 200 to rotate at the first steering structure 130 or the second steering structure 140.

[0120] Optionally, the carrier bearing 244 is a sliding bearing. Sliding bearings have high load-bearing capacity, ensuring the continuous transmission of energy storage device 300 by the cable gravity flow energy storage system.

[0121] Referring to Figures 1-19, in the optional embodiment, the walking wheel set 230 includes at least one wheel assembly; when there are multiple wheel assemblies, the multiple wheel assemblies are arranged sequentially along the extension direction of the carrying cable 110; the multiple wheel assemblies enable the carrying cable 110 to better support the transport device 200 and the energy storage device 300 through the walking wheel set 230.

[0122] The wheel assembly includes traveling wheels 231 and wheel connectors 232. In the same wheel assembly, there are at least two traveling wheels 231, and all traveling wheels 231 are sequentially and rotatably connected to the wheel connectors 232 along the extension direction of the load-bearing cable 110. The wheel connectors 232 are pivotally connected to the transport frame 210. The traveling wheels 231 and wheel connectors 232 further enhance the load-bearing capacity and stability of the traveling wheel assembly 230 during travel.

[0123] Optionally, to further improve the load-bearing capacity and stability of the traveling wheel assembly 230 during travel, the wheel assembly also includes a pivot axle 233 and a wheel axle 234 parallel to the pivot axle 233. In the same wheel assembly, there are two wheel connectors 232. The traveling wheel 231 is sandwiched between the two wheel connectors 232 along a third direction. The wheel axle 234 passes through the two wheel connectors 232 and the traveling wheel 231, and the traveling wheel 231 is configured to rotate around the wheel axle 234. The pivot axle 233 passes through the two wheel connectors 232 and is connected to the carrier frame 210. The two wheel connectors 232 are configured to swing around the pivot axle 233. The pivot axle 233 is parallel to a third direction and forms an angle with the extension direction of the support cable 110. Optionally, the pivot axle 233 is perpendicular to the extension direction of the support cable 110.

[0124] Referring to Figures 1-19, in an optional embodiment, the transport frame 210 includes a transport frame body 211 and a wheel assembly mounting part 212; the wheel assembly mounting parts 212 are symmetrically connected to both ends of the transport frame body 211 in pairs; the connecting frame 220 is connected to the transport frame body 211, and the walking wheel set 230 is connected to the wheel assembly mounting part 212; by setting the transport frame 210 as a transport frame body 211 and a wheel assembly mounting part 212, it helps the transport frame 210 to support and connect the connecting frame 220, the walking wheel set 230 and the rope connection structure 240.

[0125] As shown in Figures 6-9 and 16-19, at least two sets of wheels 230 are provided on one side of the transport frame 210. These two sets of wheels 230 are located on both sides of the wheel mounting portion 212, and the corresponding pivot shafts 233 of the two sets of wheels 230 are the same pivot shaft 233. The pivot shaft 233 passes through the wheel mounting portion 212 and connects to the corresponding wheel connector 232. By providing at least two sets of wheels 230, the stability of the transport device 200 during travel is improved.

[0126] Optionally, pairs of traveling wheel sets 230 are symmetrically arranged on the transport frame 210; optionally, pairs of bearing cables 110 are symmetrically arranged on both sides of the transport device 200; optionally, pairs of traction cables 120 are symmetrically arranged on both sides of the transport device 200.

[0127] Optionally, the traction cable 120 is located between the paired support cables 110; the support cable 110 is located above the traction cable 120; by positioning the support cable 110 above the traction cable 120, it helps the support cable 110 to support the transport device 200 and the energy storage device 300.

[0128] Optionally, the connecting frame 220 includes at least two connecting rod portions; the connecting rod portions connect the carrier frame 210 and the energy storage device 300. The at least two connecting rod portions enhance the load-bearing capacity and stability of the connecting frame 220 in supporting the energy storage device 300. As shown in Figure 8, when the connecting frame 220 is a suspension frame 221, the suspension frame 221 includes at least two suspension rod portions; the suspension rod portions connect the carrier frame 210 and the energy storage device 300; the at least two suspension rod portions enhance the load-bearing capacity and stability of the suspension frame 221 in supporting the energy storage device 300. As shown in Figure 18, when the connecting frame 220 is a support frame 222, the support frame 222 includes at least two support rod portions; the support rod portions connect the carrier frame 210 and the energy storage device 300; the at least two support rod portions enhance the load-bearing capacity and stability of the support frame 222 in supporting the energy storage device 300.

[0129] In this embodiment, both the load-bearing cable 110 and the traction cable 120 are connected to a tensioning device. The tensioning device includes one or more of a counterweight structure, a hydraulic structure, and a screw-type structure; other structural forms are also possible. The tensioning device increases the preload of the load-bearing cable 110 and the traction cable 120, which helps them operate normally. The tensioning device shown in Figures 3 and 13 is a screw-type structure.

[0130] The load-bearing cable gravity flow energy storage system provided in this embodiment has the following advantages compared with the prior art:

[0131] 1. The energy storage device 300 is driven by paired traction cables 120, and the load-bearing cables 110 bear the load of the energy storage device 300. This effectively reduces the load on a single cableway, ensuring the system's stable and reliable performance and improving its load-bearing capacity. Compared to using a single cable for both load-bearing and traction, this method offers higher reliability and stability. Furthermore, the reduced load on a single cableway means that more energy storage devices 300 can be transported simultaneously, increasing the system's capacity and ensuring high-efficiency operation in both energy storage and power generation modes, enabling high-power energy storage and release.

[0132] 2. The axial directions of both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are parallel to the horizontal direction. This means that both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 rotate around an axis parallel to the horizontal direction. Compared to steering structures that rotate around an axis parallel to the vertical direction, the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 in this embodiment require less ground space, have simpler terrain requirements, and are easier to install on more sloping terrains. Simultaneously, the smaller installation space facilitates the simultaneous installation of multiple systems, increasing system capacity and enabling high-power energy storage / discharge.

[0133] 3. The transport device 200 is fixedly installed on the support cable 110, and the transport device 200 carrying the energy storage device 300 transports the energy storage device 300 along the support cable 110. Compared with the detached installation, the system structure is not only simple, but also avoids the use of components that need to be frequently opened and closed, ensuring the reliability of the system installation and reducing maintenance costs.

[0134] 4. The use of the 110 load-bearing cable as the sliding track avoids heavy steel rails and other components, reduces the difficulty of transportation during system installation, and makes deployment easier.

[0135] 5. The energy storage device 300 conveying system generates a continuous gravity flow, which can form a stable and adjustable energy flow, thereby realizing continuous discharge.

[0136] 6. The real-time power consumption or power generation can be arbitrarily adjusted by changing the speed of gravity flow or the magnitude of gravity flow; the energy storage device 300 has stable and reliable performance, economical storage, and efficient and fast access.

[0137] When the first steering structure 130 or the second steering structure 140 is a drum 160, compared to when the first steering structure 130 or the second steering structure 140 is a steering wheel 150, the drum 160 increases the contact area with the traction cable 120, thereby increasing the friction between the drum 160 and the traction cable 120, and thus improving the charging / discharging efficiency to a certain extent. Furthermore, the drum 160 can provide a more uniform contact force with the traction cable 120, effectively reducing wear on the traction cable 120 and extending its service life. At the same time, the drum 160 is less prone to slippage, which is more beneficial for the stability of the cable-driven gravity flow energy storage system.

[0138] This embodiment also provides an energy storage method applicable to the cable-supported gravity flow energy storage system described in any of the above embodiments. The method includes:

[0139] During energy storage and charging, the energy storage device 300 is located at a low altitude. The drive device 400 is driven by electrical energy, which drives the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 to rotate in the first direction, thereby driving the traction cable 120 to run in the first direction, and then driving all the transport devices 200 to move under the traction of the traction cable 120; so that multiple energy storage devices 300 are successively assembled on the transport devices 200, and successively transported to a high altitude along the carrying cable 110 and unloaded, thereby converting electrical energy into gravitational potential energy for storage.

[0140] During discharge, the energy storage device 300 is located at a high altitude. Multiple energy storage devices 300 are successively assembled on the carrier device 200 and travel along the carrying cable 110 to a low altitude and are unloaded, driving the traction cable 120 to rotate in the second direction. The traction cable 120 drives the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 to rotate in the second direction, so as to drive the power generation device 500 to continuously generate electricity, thereby converting gravitational potential energy into continuous electrical energy, so that the gravity flow formed by the continuous online movement of several energy storage devices 300 is converted into a continuous energy flow, thereby realizing continuous charging and discharging.

[0141] The energy storage method provided in this embodiment is applicable to the aforementioned cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system. The technical features of the disclosed cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system are also applicable to this energy storage method, and the technical features of the disclosed cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system will not be repeated. The cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system described in this embodiment employs the aforementioned energy storage method, and the disclosed energy storage method is also applicable to this cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system.

[0142] In one embodiment, multiple energy storage devices 300 are sequentially mounted on the transport device 200 at preset intervals to enable continuous transport of the energy storage devices 300. The preset interval may be, for example, one energy storage device 300 is mounted on each transport device 200, or one energy storage device 300 is mounted every other transport device 200, or one energy storage device 300 is mounted every two transport devices 200, etc.

[0143] The energy storage device 300's travel speed and spacing can be adjusted in real time according to demand to change the magnitude of the gravity flow, thereby achieving on-demand energy flow regulation and realizing "slow charging and fast discharging" or "on-demand charging and discharging" functions. The travel speed of the energy storage device 300 can be adjusted, for example, by regulating the speed of the drive device 400 and the power generation device 500. By adjusting the travel speed and spacing of the energy storage device 300 in real time according to demand to change the magnitude of the gravity flow, the adaptability of the cable-type gravity flow energy storage system is broadened.

[0144] In one embodiment, there are multiple load-bearing gravity flow energy storage systems; multiple load-bearing gravity flow energy storage systems are installed side-by-side in the horizontal direction according to the hillside terrain, and / or, multiple load-bearing gravity flow energy storage systems are stacked vertically according to the hillside terrain. By installing multiple load-bearing gravity flow energy storage systems side-by-side in the horizontal direction according to the hillside terrain, and by stacking multiple load-bearing gravity flow energy storage systems vertically according to the hillside terrain, larger-scale energy storage can be achieved.

[0145] To better understand the cable-supported gravity flow energy storage system and energy storage method described in this embodiment, the following examples are provided:

[0146] Energy Storage Stage: During the energy storage process, when the drive unit 400 and the power generation unit 500 are electric generators, the electric generator plays a core role in energy conversion. The electric generator draws electrical energy from the power grid and converts it into kinetic energy. This kinetic energy is then smoothly transferred to the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140, causing them to rotate clockwise. The first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140, through the friction between their surfaces and the traction cable 120, drive the traction cable 120 to begin moving. Both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 rotate clockwise. As the traction cable 120 continues to move, the transport device 200 clamped to it is pulled forward along the carrying cable 110. The transport device 200 is equipped with a connecting frame 220, which carries the energy storage device 300 located in the lower storage yard, allowing it to move along with the transport device 200. As it approaches the upper storage yard, the energy storage device 300 separates from the connecting frame 220 on the transport device 200. The energy storage device 300 is then sent into the upper storage yard and quickly transported away by a transfer vehicle for storage. Meanwhile, the transport device 200 continues to travel along the towing cable 120 and eventually returns to the lower storage yard to prepare for a new round of energy storage device 300 transport.

[0147] Discharge Phase: During the discharge process, the energy storage device 300 located in the upper storage yard is carried by the transport device 200 along a section of the support cable 110. The energy storage device 300 is fixed by the connecting frame 220 on the transport device 200. Subsequently, under the action of gravity, the energy storage device 300, along with the transport device 200, slides down the support cable 110, releasing its contained energy. The transport device 200, through its clamping force, drives the traction cable 120 to begin moving. The traction cable 120, through the friction between itself and the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140, transmits the motion to the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140, driving them to rotate counterclockwise, and then transmitting the motion to the electric generator. The electric generator enters the power generation mode, converting kinetic energy into electrical energy and inputting it into the power grid. As it approaches the lower storage yard, the energy storage device 300 separates from the connecting frame 220 on the transport device 200. The energy storage device 300 is then transported into the lower storage yard and moved away by a transfer vehicle for storage. Meanwhile, the transport device 200 continues to travel along the towing cable 120. Finally, the transport device 200 returns to the upper storage yard, ready to begin a new round of transporting energy storage devices 300.

[0148] Example of power generation using the cable-stayed gravity flow energy storage system and energy storage method described in this embodiment:

[0149] If both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are steering wheels 150, the energy storage device 300 is mainly made of reinforced concrete with a density of 2500 kg / m³. 3 The device is a cuboid measuring 1.2 meters long, 1.2 meters wide, and 1.0 meter high, weighing 3.6 tons. Assuming a vertical drop of 500 meters on the hillside, lifting a single energy storage device 300 from the bottom (lower elevation) to the top (higher elevation) would allow it to store energy E = mgh = 3.6 × 10⁻⁶. 3 kg×9.8m / s 2 ×500m=17,640,000J=4.9kWh. Referring to the operating speeds of passenger ropeways, freight ropeways, and mine hoists, at a speed of 8 meters per second, the operating speed would be 28.8 kilometers per hour. Assuming the energy storage devices are arranged at 10-meter intervals, 2880 energy storage devices can be transported to the mountaintop per hour, storing 2880 devices × 4.9kWh / device = 14112.0kW·h ≈ 14.1MWh of energy per hour. To improve power generation capacity, multiple systems can be arranged in parallel rows and / or stacked vertically on the hillside; alternatively, the speed of the traction cable can be increased by 120, or the spacing between the energy storage devices can be reduced by 300 to expand the energy storage capacity.

[0150] If both the first steering structure 130 and the second steering structure 140 are drums 160, the energy storage device 300 is mainly made of reinforced concrete with a density of 2500 kg / m³.3 The device is a cuboid measuring 1.2 meters long, 1.2 meters wide, and 1.0 meter high, weighing 3.6 tons. Assuming the energy storage devices are arranged at 8-meter intervals, 3600 energy storage devices can be transported to the mountaintop per hour, storing approximately 17640.0 kW·h ≈ 17.6 MWh of energy per hour (3600 devices × 4.9kWh / device = 17640.0 kW·h ≈ 17.6 MWh). To increase power generation capacity, multiple systems can be arranged in parallel rows and / or stacked vertically on the hillside; alternatively, the speed of the traction cable can be increased by 120 km / h, or the spacing between the energy storage devices can be reduced by 300 km / h, thereby expanding the energy storage capacity.

[0151] The above description is merely a preferred embodiment of this application and is not intended to limit this application. Various modifications and variations can be made to this application by those skilled in the art. Any modifications, equivalent substitutions, improvements, etc., made within the spirit and principles of this application should be included within the protection scope of this application. Industrial applicability

[0152] In summary, this application provides a load-bearing cable-driven gravity flow energy storage system and energy storage method. The energy storage device is driven by a pair of traction cables, and the load-bearing cables bear the load of the energy storage device, resulting in higher stability. By circulating the traction cables between the first and second steering structures, the energy storage device can be transported continuously by a transport device. This not only improves the system's transport capacity but also provides a continuous gravity flow. The continuous gravity flow can be converted into a continuous energy flow by a power generation device, thereby achieving continuous charging and discharging.
