Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to HARQ-ACK transmission. In an aspect, a UE determines a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) cell for transmission of a plurality of hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HRAQ-ACK) information in a time unit. The plurality of HARQ-ACK information correspond to a plurality of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions in at least one scheduled cell. The UE generates a plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks based on the plurality of HARQ-ACK information. Each HARQ-ACK codebook of the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks carries at least one HARQ-ACK information corresponding to at least one PDSCH transmission, among the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, associated with a same scheduling cell. The UE transmits, to a base station, the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks in one or multiple PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell.

[0084] In the following description and claims, unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skills in the art to which this disclosure belongs.

[0085] References in the present disclosure to “one embodiment, ” “an example embodiment, ” “an embodiment, ” “some embodiments, ” and the like indicate that the embodiment (s) described may include a particular feature, structure, or characteristic, but it is not necessary that every embodiment includes the particular feature, structure, or characteristic. Moreover, such phrases do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment (s) . Further, when a particular feature, structure, or characteristic is described in connection with an embodiment, it is submitted that it is within the knowledge of one skilled in the art to affect such feature, structure, or characteristic in connection with other embodiments whether or not explicitly described.

[0086] It shall be understood that although the terms “first” and “second” or the like may be used herein to describe various elements, these elements should not be limited by these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another element. For example, a first element could also be termed as a second element, and similarly, a second element could also be termed as a first element, without departing from the scope of embodiments. As used herein, the term “and / or” includes any and all combinations of one or more of the listed terms.

[0087] The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of example embodiments. As used herein, the singular forms “a” , “an” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises” , “comprising” , “has” , “having” , “includes” and / or “including” , when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, elements, and / or components etc., but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, elements, components and / or combinations thereof.

[0104] The core network 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the core network 106 via a network entity 102. The core network 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the core network 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the core network 106) .

[0105] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0106] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0107] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to time units, the time unit could be one or more frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0108] Additionally or alternatively, the time unit could be one or more slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0109] Additionally or alternatively, the time unit could be one or more symbols.

[0110] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0111] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0112] Regarding the time unit determination for HARQ-ACK transmission for dynamical scheduling PDSCH, if the UE detects a DCI format scheduling a number of PDSCH receptions ending in DL slot nD, the UE provides corresponding HARQ-ACK information in a PUCCH transmission within UL slot n+k. That is, the UL slot n+k is the time unit used to transmit the HARQ information of PDSCH, where n is the last UL slot for PUCCH transmission that overlaps with slot nD, and k is a number of slots and is indicated by the PDSCH-to-HARQ_feedback timing indicator field in the DCI format. If the subcarrier spacing (SCS) of DL slot and UL slot is same, nD=n. The PDSCH-to-HARQ_feedback timing indicator field maps to values for a set of number of slots (named as K1 set) provided by RRC signalling, if present, or provided by one value configured by the RRC signalling. FIG. 1B illustrates an example diagram of time unit determination for HARQ-ACK transmission for dynamical scheduling PDSCH.

[0113] Regarding the time unit determination for HARQ-ACK transmission for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) PDSCH, UE would receive an activating DCI to activate a SPS configuration from one or multiple SPS configurations and for each SPS configuration, a period P and n1PUCCH-AN is provided. Also, the activating DCI could indicate the time domain resource and frequency domain resource of PDSCH for the activated SPS configuration and provide the K1 value to indicate the slot for PUCCH transmission, assuming SPS PDSCH reception is ending in slot n, then the corresponding HARQ-ACK could be in a PUCCH transmission within slot n+K1.

[0114] In 5G NR systems, in carrier aggregation (CA) scenario, the cell used to transmit PUCCH may be determined according to following method. UE could be configured with one or two cell groups. In a cell group, only one cell or two cells may be configured with PUCCH configuration, thus such cell is PUCCH cell. Thus, a PUCCH cell is a cell used to transmit PUCCH. In case that the UE is configured with two PUCCH groups, the scheduling cell and the scheduled cell are within the same PUCCH group.

[0115] In some implementations, in 5G NR systems, if two PUCCH cells are configured in a cell group, the cell used to transmit PUCCH may be determined based on a PUCCH cell pattern that is semi-static configured. FIG. 1C illustrates an example diagram of PUCCH cell determination based on a PUCCH cell pattern in a 5G NR system. In the example shown in FIG. 1C, cell group 1 is configured with two PUCCH cells, e.g., cell i and cell j. A PUCCH cell pattern is configured, i.e., by a bitmap. According to the PUCCH cell pattern, the cell used to transmit PUCCH may be cell i in slot 0, cell j in slot 1, cell i in slot 2, cell j in slot 3, ….

[0116] In some alternative implementations, in 5G NR systems, if two PUCCH cells are configured in a cell group, the cell used to transmit PUCCH may be indicated by the DCI scheduling the corresponding PDSCH transmission. For SPS PDSCH, the HARQ-ACK is always transmitted in Pcell.

[0117] In 5G NR systems, for a time unit (slot / symbol) and a PUCCH cell used to transmit HARQ-ACK information, a HARQ-ACK codebook would be generated, which includes all the HARQ-ACK that would be transmitted in the time unit. The HARQ-ACK codebook for dynamic scheduling PDSCH may be generated according to the downlink assignment index (DAI) field in the DCI associated with the HARQ-ACK. The bit sequence is generated according to the DAI indication in the DCI.

[0118] The set of PDCCH monitoring occasions for DCI formats scheduling PDSCH receptions, or having associated HARQ-ACK information without scheduling PDSCH reception, is defined as the union of PDCCH monitoring occasions across active DL BWPs of configured serving cells. PDCCH monitoring occasions are indexed in an ascending order of their start times. The cardinality of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions defines a total number M of PDCCH monitoring occasions. PDCCH monitoring occasions are separately counted for a DCI format scheduling a PDSCH reception on a single serving cell and more than one serving cells. As used herein, scheduling a PDSCH reception on a single serving cell may be referred to as single cell scheduling. As used herein, scheduling a PDSCH reception on more than one serving cells may be referred to as multiple cell scheduling.

[0119] Regarding counting of DCI formats for single cell scheduling, a value of the counter DCI (C-DAI) field in DCI formats, each scheduling PDSCH receptions on a respective single serving cell with associated HARQ-ACK information in a same HARQ-ACK codebook, denotes the accumulative number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pairs in which PDSCH receptions, excluding PDSCH receptions that provide only transport blocks for HARQ processes associated with disabled HARQ-ACK information if downlinkHARQ-FeedbackDisabled is provided or PDSCH receptions scheduled by DCI formats associated with G-RNTI / G-CS-RNTI with disabled HARQ-ACK information, or HARQ-ACK information bits that are not in response for PDSCH receptions, associated with the DCI formats, excluding the SPS activation DCI, is present up to the current serving cell and current PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0120] The counting order of C-DAI for single cell scheduling is as follows: first, if the UE indicates by type2-HARQ-ACK-Codebook support for more than one PDSCH reception on a serving cell that are scheduled from a same PDCCH monitoring occasion, in increasing order of the PDSCH reception starting time for the same {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} pair; second in ascending order of serving cell index; and third in ascending order of PDCCH monitoring occasion index m, where 0≤m<M.

[0121] Regarding counting of DCI formats for multiple cell scheduling, a value of the counter DAI field in DCI formats, each scheduling PDSCH receptions on respective more than one serving cells with associated HARQ-ACK information in a same HARQ-ACK codebook, denotes the accumulative number of {serving cell with smallest index from the more than one serving cells, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pairs in which PDSCH receptions are present up to the current more than one serving cells and current PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0122] The counting order of C-DAI for multiple cell scheduling is as follows: first, if the UE indicates by type2-HARQ-ACK-Codebook support for more than one PDSCH receptions on a serving cell that are scheduled from a same PDCCH monitoring occasion, in increasing order of the PDSCH reception starting time for the same {serving cell with smallest index from the more than one serving cells, PDCCH monitoring occasion} pair; second in ascending order of the smallest serving cell index from the more than one serving cells; and third in ascending order of PDCCH monitoring occasion index m, where 0≤m<M.

[0123] The value of the counter DAI is in the order of the first CORESETs and then the second CORESETs for a same serving cell index and a same PDCCH monitoring occasion index.

[0124] The value of the total DAI (T-DAI) , when present [5, TS 38.212] , in a DCI format denotes the total number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pair (s) in which PDSCH reception (s) , associated with DCI formats up to the current PDCCH monitoring occasion m and is updated from PDCCH monitoring occasion to PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0125] FIG. 1D illustrates an example diagram of counting of DCI formats in a 5G NR system. In the example shown in FIG. 1D, the HARQ-ACK associated with associated DCI formats received in 5 component carriers (CCs) would be transmitted in a same time slot and a same PUCCH cell.

[0126] DCI#1 received in CC1 schedules PDSCH#1 in CC1; DCI#2 received in CC2 schedules PDSCH#2 in CC2 and PDSCH#3 in CC3; DCI#3 received in CC4 schedules PDSCH#4 in CC4 and PDSCH#5 in CC5. DCI#4 received in CC1 schedules PDSCH#6 in CC1; DCI#5 received in CC2 schedules PDSCH#7 in CC2; DCI#6 received in CC3 schedules PDSCH#8 in CC3; and DCI#7 received in CC4 schedules PDSCH#9 in CC4 and PDSCH#10 in CC5. The associated HARQ-ACK for PDSCH#1-PDSCH#10 are to be transmitted in a same time slot and a same PUCCH cell.

[0127] DCI#1, DCI#4, DCI#5 and DCI#6 are for single cell scheduling, the C-DAI and T-DAI for these DCIs are counted based on the predefined counting order, and a sub codebook (sub-CB) is generated for these PDSCHs. DCI#2, DCI#4 and DCI#7 are for multiplex cells scheduling, the C-DAI and T-DAI for these DCIs are counted based on the predefined counting order, and a sub-CB is generated for these PDSCH. FIG. 1E illustrates an example diagram of generation of HARQ-ACK codebook for the example in FIG. 1D. As shown in FIG. 1E, a first sub-CB is generated for single cell scheduling and includes respective HARQ-ACK information of PDSCH#1, PDSCH#6, PDSCH#7 and PDSCH#8; and a second sub-CB is generated for single cell scheduling and includes respective HARQ-ACK information of PDSCH#2 and PDSCH#3, PDSCH#4 and PDSCH#5 and PDSCH#9 and PDSCH#10.

[0128] Then, the sub-CB for single cell scheduling and the sub-CB for multiple cell scheduling are connected to generate the HARQ-ACK codebook, and to be transmitted in a same PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell and the time unit. The PUCCH resource is determined according to the HARQ-ACK bit number and the precoding resource indicator (PRI) field in the last DCI (e.g., DCI#7 in the example in FIG. 1D) corresponding to the HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0129] Since all the cells in a cell group should feedback HARQ-ACK in one PUCCH cell (or at most 2 PUCCH cells) , a single CB should be generated per PUCCH cell, which requires the field of simultaneous DCIs to be coordinated across the aggregated cells to support the CB generation. For example, the DAI field / K1 indication should take all the aggerated cell into consideration. The NR design did not sufficiently facilitate network implementations but was designed to require challenging low latency inter-cell coordination at gNB side.

[0130] For 6G, carrier aggregation (CA)  / multi-carrier operation, also named as spectrum aggregation, may be supported to fully utilize the operator’s spectrums for improving the data rate. Some enhancement should be considered to simplify gNB’s implementation at inter-cell coordination.

[0131] In view of the above, embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions to resolve at least one of the above issues. In an aspect of the present disclosure, the UE determines a PUCCH cell transmission of a plurality of HRAQ-ACK information in a time unit. The plurality of HARQ-ACK information correspond to a plurality of PDSCH transmissions in at least one scheduled cell. In other words, the HARQ-ACK codebooks are generated per scheduling cell. Thus, for HARQ-ACK information that would be transmitted in a same time unit and same PUCCH cell, one HARQ-ACK codebook could be transmitted for the HARQ-ACK information corresponding to / associated with a same scheduling cell. The UE transmits the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks in one or more PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell. For example, the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks may be separately transmitted in multiple PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell in the time unit. Thus, HARQ-ACK information corresponding to / associated with a plurality of scheduling cells would be transmitted in different resources in a same time unit and a same PUCCH cell. In another example, the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks are sub-CBs, and may be connected and transmitted in one PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell in the time unit. Thus, HARQ-ACK information corresponding to / associated with a plurality of scheduling cells would be transmitted in a single resource in a same time unit and a same PUCCH cell. In this way, a scheme of generating HARQ-ACK codebook per scheduling cell is designed. This wound not require the DAI field in the DCI to be coordinated across the aggregated cells. Instead, it is sufficient to count the DAI field per scheduling cell to support generating HARQ-ACK codebook per scheduling cell. In this way, the network implementation may be simplified, and the latency may be reduced.

[0132] As used herein, a PUCCH cell refers to an UL cell / carrier used to transmit PUCCH. As used herein, a scheduling cell refers to a DL cell / carrier for DCI reception, either scheduling DCI for dynamic scheduling PDSCH or activation DCI of SPS PDSCH. A scheduling cell for a PDSCH transmission is the cell / carrier in which the PDCCH for scheduling the PDSCH or for activating the SPS PDSCH is received. As used herein, a scheduled cell refers to a DL cell / carrier for PDSCH reception. A scheduled cell for a PDSCH transmission is the cell / carrier in which the dynamic scheduling PDCCH or the SPS PDSCH is received. It is to be understood that the terms used herein are terminologies in 5G NR systems, and may be interchangeably used with other terminologies (but with same or similar functions) that might be used in future wireless communication system such as 6G.

[0133] Reference is now made to FIG. 2, which illustrates an example signaling chart of a communication process 200 that supports HARQ-ACK transmission in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the procedure 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A, and the procedure 200 may involve a UE 104 and a network entity 102 as shown in FIG. 1A. The network entity may be implemented as a base station. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 2 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. It is to be understood that procedure 200 may further include additional blocks not shown and / or omit some shown blocks, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0134] As shown in FIG. 2, the UE 104 determines (202) a PUCCH cell for transmission of a plurality of HRAQ-ACK information in a time unit. The plurality of HARQ-ACK information correspond to a plurality of PDSCH transmissions in at least one scheduled cell. Similarly, the base station 102 determines (202) the PUCCH cell for reception of the plurality of HRAQ-ACK information in the time unit. The UE 104 generates (206) a plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 based on the plurality of HARQ-ACK information. Each HARQ-ACK codebook of the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 carries at least one HARQ-ACK information corresponding to at least one PDSCH transmission, among the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, associated with a same scheduling cell. In other words, the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 may be generated per scheduling cell. The UE 104 transmits (208) the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 to the base station 102 in one or multiple PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell. Accordingly, the base station 102 receives (212) the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 from the UE 104 in the one or multiple PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell.

[0135] In some embodiments, a PUCCH cell for transmission of respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to a PDSCH transmission may be associated with a respective scheduling cell of the PDSCH transmission. In other words, a same scheduling cell is in a same PUCCH group, and one PUCCH cell is used for PUCCH transmission, which means for DCIs received in a same cell, the same PUCCH cell is used. In some examples, for each scheduling cell, an associated PUCCH cell may be configured or predefined. The scheduling cell of the SPS PDSCH is determined based on the activation DCI of SPS PDSCH. The scheduling cell of the dynamic scheduling PDSCH is determined based on the DCI scheduling the PDSCH. For different scheduling cells, same or different PUCCH cell could be configured or associated.

[0136] FIG. 3A illustrates an example diagram of PUCCH cell determination based on the scheduling cell in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example shown in FIG. 3A, for the scheduling cell CC1, a PUCCH cell CC1’ is configured. Thus, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#1 scheduled by DCI#1 received in CC1 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#6 scheduled by DCI#4 received in CC1 are to be transmitted in CC1’. For the scheduling cell CC2, a PUCCH cell CC2’ is configured. Thus, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#2 and PDSCH#3 scheduled by DCI#2 received in CC2 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#7 scheduled by DCI#5 received in CC2 are to be transmitted in CC2’. For the scheduling cell CC3, a PUCCH cell CC3’ is configured. Thus, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#8 scheduled by DCI#6 received in CC3 is to be transmitted in CC3’. For the scheduling cell CC4, a PUCCH cell CC4’ is configured. Thus, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#4 and PDSCH#5 scheduled by DCI#3 received in CC4 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#9 and PDSCH#10 scheduled by DCI#7 received in CC4 are to be transmitted in CC4’.

[0137] In some alternative embodiments, a PUCCH cell for transmission of respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to a PDSCH transmission may be associated with a respective scheduled cell of the PDSCH transmission. In other words, a same scheduled cell is in a same PUCCH group, and one PUCCH cell is used for PUCCH transmission, which means for PDSCHs transmitted in a same cell, the same PUCCH cell is used. In some examples, for each scheduled cell, an associated PUCCH cell may be configured or predefined. The scheduled cell of the SPS PDSCH is determined based on the cell for receiving the SPS PDSCH. The scheduled cell of the dynamic scheduling PDSCH is determined based on the cell for receiving the dynamic scheduling PDSCH. FIG. 3B illustrates an example diagram of PUCCH cell determination based on the scheduled cell in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example shown in FIG. 3B, for the scheduled cell CC1, a PUCCH cell CC1’ is configured. For the scheduled cell CC2, a PUCCH cell CC2’ is configured. For the scheduled cell CC3, a PUCCH cell CC3’ is configured. For the scheduled cell CC4, a PUCCH cell CC4’ is configured. For the scheduled cell CC5, a PUCCH cell CC5’ is configured. For different scheduled cells, same or different PUCCH cell could be configured or associated.

[0138] In some example embodiments, if the UE 104 receives, from the base station 102, a DCI for scheduling at least one PDSCH transmission in one scheduled cell, respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least one PDSCH transmission may be transmitted in a PUCCH cell associated with the scheduled cell of the at least one PDSCH transmission; if the UE 104 receives, from the base station 102, a DCI for scheduling at least two PDSCH transmissions in at least two scheduled cells, for each of the at least one PDSCH transmission, respective HARQ-ACK information may be transmitted in a PUCCH cell associated with the scheduled cell of the PDSCH transmission. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one or multiple PDSCHs in a single cell, the PUCCH cell / carrier used to transmit the HARQ-ACK is the cell / carrier associated with the scheduled cell. For a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, there is a PUCCH cell / carrier associated with each scheduled cell, and the HARQ-ACK is transmitted per scheduled cell in the associated PUCCH cell / carrier. Still take FIG. 3B as an example, based on the association between PUCCH cell and scheduled cell, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#1 transmitted in CC1 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#6 transmitted in CC1 are to be transmitted in CC1’; the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#2 transmitted in CC2 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#7 transmitted in CC2 are to be transmitted in CC2’; the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#3 transmitted in CC3 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#8 transmitted in CC3 are to be transmitted in CC3’; the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#4 transmitted in CC4 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#9 transmitted in CC4 are to be transmitted in CC4’; and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#5 transmitted in CC5 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#10 transmitted in CC5 are to be transmitted in CC5’. In other words, the multiple cell scheduling may be considered as multiple single cell scheduling.

[0139] In some alternative example embodiments, if the UE 104 receives, from the base station 102, a DCI for scheduling at least one PDSCH transmission in one scheduled cell, respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least one PDSCH transmission may be transmitted in a PUCCH cell associated with the scheduled cell of the at least one PDSCH transmission; if the UE 104 receives, from the base station 102, a DCI for scheduling at least two PDSCH transmissions in at least two scheduled cells, respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least one PDSCH transmission may be transmitted in one PUCCH cell. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one or multiple PDSCHs in a single cell, the PUCCH cell / carrier used to transmit the HARQ-ACK is the cell / carrier associated with the scheduled cell. For a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, the HARQ-ACK is transmitted in one PUCCH cell / carrier. The DCI bitfield may be determined by the maximum number of co-scheduled cells or associated cells.

[0140] In some example implementations, the PUCCH cell for transmission of the at least two respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least two PDSCH transmissions may be one PUCCH cell among at least one PUCCH cell associated with the at least two scheduled cells of the at least two PDSCH transmissions. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, one PUCCH cell / carrier among the associated PUCCH cell / carrier of the multiple scheduled cells may be chosen for PUCCH transmission. In some examples, the one PUCCH cell may have a smallest index among the at least one PUCCH cell. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, the PUCCH cell / carrier with the smallest cell / carrier index, among the associated PUCCH cell / carrier of the multiple scheduled cells, may be chosen for PUCCH transmission. In some examples, the one PUCCH cell may have a largest cell index among the at least one PUCCH cell. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, the PUCCH cell / carrier with the largest cell / carrier index, among the associated PUCCH cell / carrier of the multiple scheduled cells, may be chosen for PUCCH transmission.

[0141] In some alternative example implementations, the PUCCH cell for transmission of the at least two respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least two PDSCH transmissions may be one PUCCH cell indicated in the DCI for scheduling the at least two PDSCH transmissions. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, the PUCCH cell / carrier with the largest cell / carrier index, among the associated PUCCH cell / carrier of the multiple scheduled cells, may be indicated by the scheduling DCI.

[0142] Still take FIG. 3B as an example, based on the association between PUCCH cell and scheduled cell, for single cell scheduling, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#1 transmitted in CC1 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#6 transmitted in CC1 are to be transmitted in CC1’; the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#7 transmitted in CC2 is to be transmitted in CC2’; and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#8 transmitted in CC3 is to be transmitted in CC3’. If for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, the HARQ-ACK is transmitted in one PUCCH carrier / cell with the smallest carrier / cell index among the associated PUCCH cells / carriers, then based on the association between PUCCH cell and scheduled cell, the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#2 transmitted in CC2 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#3 transmitted in CC3 are to be transmitted in one of CC2’ and CC3’ with the smallest cell / carrier index; the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#4 transmitted in CC4 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#5 transmitted in CC5 are to be transmitted in one of CC4’ and CC5’ with the smallest cell / carrier index; the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#9 transmitted in CC4 and the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#10 transmitted in CC5 are to be transmitted in one of CC4’ and CC5’ with the smallest cell / carrier index.

[0143] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, a DCI for scheduling at least one PDSCH transmission in at least one scheduled cell. The DCI for scheduling the at least one PDSCH transmission may include an indication of one PUCCH cell for transmission of at least one respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least one PDSCH transmission. In other words, there could be a PUCCH cell indication field in DCI to indicate one PUCCH cell for all co-scheduled cell. The activation DCI of SPS PDSCH may include a PUCCH cell indication field to indicate the PUCCH cell.

[0144] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, a DCI for scheduling at least one PDSCH transmission in at least one scheduled cell. The DCI for scheduling the at least one PDSCH transmission may include an indication of at least one respective PUCCH cell for the at least one scheduled cell, for transmission of at least one respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the at least one PDSCH transmission. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, PUCCH cell / carrier for each co-scheduled cell could be indicated in the DCI separately. The activation DCI of SPS PDSCH may include a PUCCH cell indication field to indicate the PUCCH cell.

[0145] In some alternative embodiments, the PUCCH cell determination may be based on legacy methods as in 5G NR. For example, UE could be configured with one or two cell groups. In a cell group, only one cell or two cells may be configured with PUCCH configuration, thus such cell is PUCCH cell. In case that the UE is configured with two PUCCH groups, the scheduling cell and the scheduled cell are within the same PUCCH group. If two PUCCH cells are configured in a cell group, the cell used to transmit PUCCH may be determined based on a PUCCH cell pattern that is semi-static configured. Alternatively, if two PUCCH cells are configured in a cell group, the cell used to transmit PUCCH may be indicated by the DCI scheduling the corresponding PDSCH transmission, and for SPS PDSCH, the HARQ-ACK is always transmitted in Pcell.

[0146] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102 in a first scheduling cell in a first PDCCH monitoring occasion, a DCI for PDSCH scheduling in one scheduled cell. The DCI may include a C-DAI indicating an accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for single cell PDSCH scheduling are received in the first scheduling cell until the first PDCCH monitoring occasion. In other words, for single cell scheduling, C-DAI is counted per scheduling cell, and denotes the accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with the DCI formats for single cell scheduling received in the same serving cell, is present up to current PDCCH monitoring occasion. Thus, for a time unit and for a PUCCH cell used to transmit HARQ-ACK information, for each scheduling cell with DCI for single cell scheduling, a respective HARQ-ACK codebook for dynamic scheduling PDSCH may be generated according to the C-DAI field in the DAI.

[0147] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102 in a first scheduling cell in a first PDCCH monitoring occasion, a DCI for PDSCH scheduling in a plurality of scheduled cells. The DCI may include a C-DAI indicating an accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for multiple cell PDSCH scheduling are received in the first scheduling cell until the first PDCCH monitoring occasion. In other words, for multiple cell scheduling, C-DAI is counted per scheduling cell, and denotes the accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with the DCI formats for multiple cell scheduling received in the same serving cell, is present up to current PDCCH monitoring occasion. Thus, for a time unit and for a PUCCH cell used to transmit HARQ-ACK information, for each scheduling cell with DCI for multiple cell scheduling, a respective HARQ-ACK codebook for dynamic scheduling PDSCH may be generated according to the C-DAI field in the DAI.

[0148] In other words, the C-DAI may be counted per scheduling cell. C-DAI denotes the accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with the DCI formats received in same serving cell, is present up to current PDCCH monitoring occasion and C-DAI may be counted separately for single cell scheduling and multiple cell scheduling. The total DAI (T-DAI) would thus be the same as C-DAI, without any meaning, and may be cancelled or reinterpreted as described below. In some examples, the K1 set may be configured per scheduling cell. That is, for different scheduling cells, different K1 sets may be configured. K1 is counted from the ending of the last PDSCH scheduled by the DCI, to determine a time unit for HARQ-ACK transmission. For SPS PDSCH, the scheduling cell is the cell in which the activation DCI is received.

[0149] FIG. 4A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example shown in FIG. 4A, the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#1 and PDSCH#6 is CC1’; the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#2, PDSCH#3 and PDSCH#7 is CC2’; the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#8 is CC3’; and the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#4, PDSCH#5, PDSCH#9 and PDSCH#10 is CC4’. The respective PUCCH cells may be determined based on the embodiments for PUCCH cell determination as described above. In some example implementations, the PUCCH cells CC1’ , CC2’ , CC3’ and CC4’ may be the same, and the determined time units for HARQ-ACK transmission for PDSCH#1-PDSCH#10 may be the same. In other words, the HARQ-ACK information for PDSCH#1-PDSCH#10 may be determined to be transmitted in the same PUCCH cell and in the same time slot (e.g., slot n) . Then, for slot n, there would be HARQ-ACK information for PDSCH#1-PDSCH#10. The HARQ-ACK codebooks (or sub-CBs) may be generated per scheduling cell, and may be generated separately for single cell scheduling and multiple cell scheduling. Five HARQ-ACK codebooks (or sub-CBs) would be generated. The first CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC1 and is for single cell scheduling, thus includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#1 and PDSCH#6; the second CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC2 and is for single cell scheduling, thus includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#7; the third CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC2 and is for multiple cell scheduling, thus includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#2 and PDSCH#3; the fourth CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC3 and is for single cell scheduling, thus includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#8; the fifth CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC4 and is for multiple cell scheduling, thus includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#4, PDSCH#5, PDSCH#9 and PDSCH#10. For each CB, C-DAI is counted separately. Thus, C-DAI denotes the accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with the DCI formats received in same serving cell, is present up to current PDCCH monitoring occasion. The bit sequence of each CB is generated according to the C-DAI indication in the DCI.

[0150] Alternatively, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102 in a first scheduling cell in a first PDCCH monitoring occasion, a DCI for PDSCH scheduling in at least one scheduled cell. The DCI may include at least one C-DAI for the at least one scheduled cell. A first C-DAI among the at least one C-DAI may be associated with a first scheduled cell among the at least one scheduled cell and may indicate an accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for scheduling PDSCH transmission in the first scheduled cell are received in the first scheduling cell until the first PDCCH monitoring occasion. In other words, for a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, there could be multiple C-DAI field information for multiple co-scheduled cells. C-DAI is counted per scheduling cell, and denotes the accumulative number of PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with the DCI formats received in the same serving cell, is present up to current PDCCH monitoring occasion. Thus, for a time unit and for a PUCCH cell used to transmit HARQ-ACK information, for each scheduling cell with DCI, a respective HARQ-ACK codebook for dynamic scheduling PDSCH may be generated according to each C-DAI field in the DAI. In other words, the multiple cell scheduling may be considered as multiple single cell scheduling. In some examples, the K1 set may be configured per scheduling cell. That is, for different scheduling cells, different K1 sets may be configured. K1 is counted from the ending of the last PDSCH scheduled by the DCI, to determine a time unit for HARQ-ACK transmission. There could be multiple K1 indication / PRI field / DAI field information for multiple co-scheduled cells in a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells. For SPS PDSCH, the scheduling cell is the cell in which the activation DCI is received.

[0151] FIG. 4B illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example shown in FIG. 4B, the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#1 and PDSCH#6 is CC1’; the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#2 and PDSCH#7 is CC2’; the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#3 and PDSCH#8 is CC3’; and the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#4 and PDSCH#9 is CC4’; and the PUCCH cell for PDSCH#5 and PDSCH#10 is CC5’. The respective PUCCH cells may be determined based on the scheduled cell as described above. A PUCCH cell for transmission of respective HARQ-ACK information corresponding to a PDSCH transmission may be associated with a respective scheduled cell of the PDSCH transmission. For a DCI scheduling one / multiple PUSCHs in multiple cells, there is a PUCCH cell / carrier associated with each scheduled cell, and the HARQ-ACK is generated and transmitted per scheduled cell in the associated PUCCH cell / carrier. In some example implementations, the PUCCH cells CC1’ , CC2’ , CC3’ , CC4’ and CC5’ may be the same, and the determined time units for HARQ-ACK transmission for PDSCH#1-PDSCH#10 may be the same. The HARQ-ACK codebooks (or sub-CBs) may be generated per scheduling cell and per scheduled cell. Sixth HARQ-ACK codebooks (or sub-CBs) would be generated. The first CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC1 and scheduled cell CC1, and includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#1 and PDSCH#6; the second CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC2 and scheduled cell CC2, and includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#2 and PDSCH#7; the third CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC2 and scheduled cell CC3, and includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#3; the fourth CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC3 and scheduled cell CC3, and includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#8; the fifth CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC4 and scheduled cell CC4, and includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#4 and PDSCH#9; the sixth CB is corresponding to scheduling cell CC4 and scheduled cell CC5, and includes the HARQ-ACK of PDSCH#5 and PDSCH#10.

[0152] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may generate one HARQ-ACK codebook by connecting the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210. The one HARQ-ACK codebook may be transmitted in one PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell. In other words, the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 generated per scheduling cell may be regarded as sub-CBs, and all the sub-CBs to be transmitted in the same PUCCH cell and the same time slot should be connected to form one HARQ-ACK codebook, and be transmitted in one determined PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell.

[0153] In some example embodiments, the UE 104 may connect the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 in an ascending order of cell indexes of the plurality of scheduling cells. For each scheduling cell among a plurality of scheduling cells of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, the UE 104 may connect a HARQ-ACK codebook associated with single cell PDSCH scheduling before a HARQ-ACK codebook associated with multiple cell PDSCH scheduling. In other words, all the sub-CBs generated per scheduling cell and to be transmitted in the same PUCCH cell and the same time slot should be connected in the ascending order of scheduling cell index of the DCI, and for each scheduling cell, the single cell scheduling sub-CB is before the multiple cell scheduling sub-CB.

[0154] FIG. 5A illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 5A is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A. In other words, the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells shown in FIG. 5A is based on the sub-CBs in the examples shown in FIG. 4A. It should be understood that the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells may also be applied to other manners of sub-CB generation per scheduling cell. As shown in FIG. 5A, the sub-CBs are connected in the following manner: first sub-CB for scheduling cell CC1 and for single cell scheduling, second sub-CB for scheduling cell CC2 and for single cell scheduling, third sub-CB for scheduling cell CC2 and for multiple cell scheduling, fourth sub-CB for scheduling cell CC3 and for single cell scheduling, fifth sub-CB for scheduling cell CC4 and for multiple cell scheduling. One PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell may be determined for transmitting the connected HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0155] In some alternative example embodiments, the UE 104 may connect a first subset of HARQ-ACK codebooks, among the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210, associated with single cell PDSCH scheduling in an ascending order of cell indexes of a plurality of scheduling cells of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. The UE 104 may connect a second subset of HARQ-ACK codebooks, among the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210, associated with multiple cell PDSCH scheduling in an ascending order of cell indexes of the plurality of scheduling cells of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. The UE 104 may connect the first subset of HARQ-ACK codebooks associated with single cell PDSCH scheduling before the second subset of HARQ-ACK codebooks associated with multiple cell PDSCH scheduling. In other words, for all the sub-CBs generated per scheduling cell and to be transmitted in the same PUCCH cell and the same time slot, single cell scheduling sub-CBs are before the multiple cell scheduling sub-CBs; for single cell scheduling sub-CBs, the sub-CBs are connected in the ascending order of scheduling cell index; and for multiple cell scheduling sub-CBs, the sub-CBs are connected in the ascending order of scheduling cell index.

[0156] FIG. 5B illustrates another example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 5B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A. In other words, the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells shown in FIG. 5B is based on the sub-CBs in the examples shown in FIG. 4A. It should be understood that the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells may also be applied to other manners of sub-CB generation per scheduling cell. As shown in FIG. 5B, the sub-CBs are connected in the following manner: first sub-CB for scheduling cell CC1 and for single cell scheduling, second sub-CB for scheduling cell CC2 and for single cell scheduling, fourth sub-CB for scheduling cell CC3 and for single cell scheduling, third sub-CB for scheduling cell CC2 and for multiple cell scheduling, fifth sub-CB for scheduling cell CC4 and for multiple cell scheduling. One PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell may be determined for transmitting the connected HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0157] The one PDCCH resource for transmitting the connected HARQ-ACK codebook. May be determined based on the last DCI. The DCIs may be indexed in an ascending order of scheduling cell index of the DCI for a same PDCCH monitoring occasion. All the HARQ-ACK information for SPS PDSCH is pending after the HARQ-ACK for PDSCH dynamic scheduled by DCI.

[0158] There would be a case that the last DCI of one scheduling cell is missing, then the CB generated by connecting all the sub-CBs would be with a wrong size, which would impact the reliability of the HARQ-ACK of other scheduling cells. To improve the reliability of the connected HARQ-ACK codebook for multiple scheduling cells, additional network indication is needed.

[0159] In some example embodiments, for each scheduling cell among a plurality of scheduling cells of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, an indication of a respective total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for PDSCH scheduling are received in the scheduling cell until a last PDCCH monitoring occasion for the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. In other words, the UE 104 may receive an indication indicating the total number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pair (s) in which PDSCH reception (s) associated with DCI formats up to the last PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with for each scheduling cell. One indication may be used for single cell scheduling and multiple cells scheduling in a same scheduling cell. In some examples, the indication may also trigger one or multiple sub-CBs among the multiple sub-CBs. The CBs are indexed in an ascending order of scheduling cell ID. In some examples, the indication may also indicate the PUCCH resource used for sub-CBs. If there is one DCI missing for a scheduling cell, the UE may pend bits in the sub-CB for the scheduling cell. If only single cell scheduling is configured, pending bits number is equal to the number of HARQ-ACK bit of one or two codewords. If multiple cells scheduling is also configured, pending bits number is equal to number of maximum of scheduled cells *the number of bit for one or two codewords. In some examples, the indication may be a new indication for trigger PUCCH report, and may be with / without PDSCH / PUSCH scheduling. Alternatively, the indication may be carried in the last DCI corresponding to the CBs for the multiple scheduling cells, e.g., in DCI#7 in the example shown in FIG. 4A. The indication may be a new bit field in the last DCI corresponding to the CBs.

[0160] FIG. 6A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 6B illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 6A and FIG. 6B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A and FIG. 5A, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells and the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs are omitted. As shown in FIG. 6A and 6B, five sub-CBs are generated, and the UE may receive an indication to indicate the total number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pair (s) in which PDSCH reception (s) associated with DCI formats up to the last PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with for each scheduling cell. In this case, the indication may be {2 2 1 2} for scheduling cells CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4, respectively. Assuming one or more DCIs are missing for the first sub-CB. According to the indication, it can be determined that there should be two DCIs received, so pending bits may be added in the first sub-CB, thus guaranteeing the reliability of the final HARQ-ACK codebook. Besides, the indication could trigger the report of the HARQ-ACK CB. If there is no such indication received, no PUCCH would be transmitted, then gNB could be aware of the missing of the indication.

[0161] In some alternative example embodiments, for each scheduling cell among a plurality of scheduling cells of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, an indication of a respective first total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for single cell PDSCH scheduling are received in the scheduling cell until a last PDCCH monitoring occasion for the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, and an indication of a respective second total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for multiple cell PDSCH scheduling are received in the scheduling cell until a last PDCCH monitoring occasion for the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. In other words, the UE 104 may receive an indication indicating the total number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pair (s) in which PDSCH reception (s) associated with DCI formats up to the last PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with for each sub-CB. Separate indications may be used for single cell scheduling and multiple cells scheduling in a same scheduling cell. If multiple cells scheduling is configured, pending bits number is equal to number of maximum of scheduled cells *the number of bit for one or two codewords.

[0162] FIG. 7A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 7B illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 7A and FIG. 7B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A and FIG. 5B, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells and the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs are omitted. As shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, five sub-CBs are generated, and the UE may receive an indication to indicate the total number of {serving cell, PDCCH monitoring occasion} -pair (s) in which PDSCH reception (s) associated with DCI formats up to the last PDCCH monitoring occasion associated with for each scheduling cell. In this case, the indication may include {2 1 1 0} for single cell scheduling in scheduling cells CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4, respectively, and {0 1 0 2} for multiple cell scheduling in scheduling cells CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4, respectively. Assuming one or more DCIs are missing for the first sub-CB. According to the indication, it can be determined that there should be two DCIs for single cell scheduling received, so pending bits may be added in the first sub-CB, thus guaranteeing the reliability of the final HARQ-ACK codebook. Besides, the indication could trigger the report of the HARQ-ACK CB. If there is no such indication received, no PUCCH would be transmitted, then gNB could be aware of the missing of the indication.

[0163] In some alternative example embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, at least one DCI in each scheduling cell among a plurality of scheduling cells of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. In some examples, the at least one DCI is for single cell PDSCH scheduling in the scheduling cell. In some alternative examples, the at least one DCI is for multiple cell PDSCH scheduling in the scheduling cell. The UE 104 may determine whether there is at least one last DCI missing based on the at least one DCI. For example, there may be a bit field in each scheduling DCI to indicate whether it is the last DCI (s) for the sub-CB, thus enabling the UE to determine whether there is last DCI (s) missing for the sub-CB. The bit field in the DCI may be a new bit field or may reuse the T-DAI field. In some examples, a DCI of the at least one DCI may include an indication of whether the DCI is a last DCI of the at least one DCI. For example, each scheduling DCI may include a 1-bit last downlink assignment indicator to indicate whether it is the last scheduling for the corresponding sub-CB. In some alternative examples, a DCI of the at least one DCI may include an indication that the DCI is one of a last DCI, a second last DCI or a third last DCI of the at least one DCI. For example, each scheduling DCI may include a 2-bit last downlink assignment indicator, and for the last three DCIs for a corresponding sub-CB, the bit field value may be 1, 2, 3, respectively. In some alternative examples, a DCI of the at least one DCI may include an indication of whether the DCI is a last N DCI of the at least one DCI. N is configured or predefined. For example, last N DCIs may have a same C-DAI or same T-DAI indication, indicating that it’s one of the last N DCIs for a corresponding sub-CB.

[0164] FIG. 8 illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 8 is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells. As shown in FIG. 8, five sub-CBs are generated, and the UE may receive an indication in each scheduling DCI to indicate whether it is a last DCI for this sub-CB. In this case, assuming DCI4 is missing. According to the indication, UE may determine that the last DCI is missing for the first sub-CB, and may add pending bit in the first sub-CB, thus guaranteeing the reliability of the final HARQ-ACK codebook. If more bits are used to indicate the last DCI (s) , more DCI missing could be found by the UE, thus further improving the reliability of the final HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0165] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102 in a plurality of time units in a plurality of scheduling cells, a plurality of DCIs for scheduling the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. A DCI among the plurality of DCIs is received in a predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion. The DCI may include an indication of a total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0166] For example, there may be inter cell coordination in configured / predetermined special time unit (s)  / slot (s)  / mini-slot (s) , thus the UE may receive an indication to indicate the total scheduling DCI number in the configured / predetermined time unit (s)  / slot (s)  / mini-slot (s) . That is, the UE may receive the total scheduling DCI number in the configured / predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) , rather than in every PDCCH monitoring occasion. In some examples, the total scheduling DCI number may be indicated in the T-DAI field. In other words, the T-DAI field in scheduling DCI may be valid in predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) , rather in each PDCCH monitoring occasion. The T-DAI field in a scheduling DCI may indicate the total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0167] In some examples, the configured / predetermined special unit (s)  / slot (s)  / mini-slot (s) (i.e., the predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) with valid T-DAI field) may have a configured period and an offset. Alternatively, the configured / predetermined special unit (s)  / slot (s)  / mini-slot (s) may be configured using a bitmap. For example, the size of the bitmap may correspond to 5 slots. For DCIs received in PDCCH monitoring occasions in the special unit (s)  / slot (s)  / mini-slot (s) , total scheduling DCI number (or T-DAI) is counted. The total scheduling DCI number may indicate the total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion.

[0168] In some examples, the total scheduling DCI number (or T-DAI) may be separately counted for single cell scheduling and for multiple cells scheduling. The T-DAI field in a scheduling DCI for single cell scheduling received in the predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) may indicate the total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for single cell PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion. The T-DAI field in a scheduling DCI for multiple cells scheduling received in the predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) may indicate the total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for multiple cell PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion. FIG. 9A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 9B illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 9A and FIG. 9B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A and FIG. 5B, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells and the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs are omitted. As shown in FIG. 9A and 9B, five sub-CBs are generated. Assuming the second PDCCH monitoring occasion is the special PDCCH occasion for indicating T-DAI, the UE may receive, in the second PDCCH monitoring occasion, an indication to indicate the total scheduling DCI number for each type of scheduling cell until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion. For example, DCI#4, DCI#5 and DCI#6 for single cell scheduling in the second PDCCH monitoring occasion may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number for single cell scheduling until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., in DCI#4, DCI#5 and DCI#6, T-DAI=4; and DCI#7 for multiple cell scheduling in the second PDCCH monitoring occasion may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number for multiple cell scheduling until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., in DCI#7, T-DAI=3. If there is one DCI missing in single cell scheduling, the UE may add pending bits in the CB for single cell scheduling. If there is one DCI missing in multiple cell scheduling, the UE may add pending bits in the CB for multiple cell scheduling. Thus, the total codebook size is not impacted.

[0169] In some alternative examples, the total scheduling DCI number (or T-DAI) may be jointly counted for single cell scheduling and multiple cells scheduling. The T-DAI field in a scheduling DCI received in the predetermined PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) may indicate the total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion. FIG. 10A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 10B illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 10A and FIG. 10B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A and FIG. 5A, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells and the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs are omitted. As shown in FIGS. 10A and 10B, five sub-CBs are generated. Assuming the second PDCCH monitoring occasion is the special PDCCH occasion for indicating T-DAI, the UE may receive, in the second PDCCH monitoring occasion, an indication to indicate the total scheduling DCI number until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion. For example, the DCIs (i.e., DCI#4, DCI#5, DCI#6, DCI#7) in the second PDCCH monitoring occasion may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., T-DAI=7. If there is one DCI missing the UE may add pending bits in the CB. Thus, the total codebook size is not impacted. A two-bit T-DAI may be used to indicate the single scheduling cell indication (1bit) and the multiple scheduling cell indication (1bit) .

[0170] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102 in a plurality of time units in a plurality of scheduling cells, a plurality of DCIs for scheduling the plurality of PDSCH transmissions. A DCI among the plurality of DCIs received in a predetermined scheduling cell may include an indication of a respective first total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for single cell PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, or an indication of a respective second total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for multiple cell PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PUCCH monitoring occasions. In some examples, the respective first total number and the respective second total number may be separately indicated for single cell scheduling and multiple cell scheduling.

[0171] For example, there may be inter cell coordination in special scheduling cell (s) , thus the UE may receive an indication to indicate the total scheduling DCI number in the special scheduling cell (s) . That is, the UE may receive the total scheduling DCI number in the configured / predetermined special scheduling cell (s) , rather than in every scheduling cell. In some examples, the total scheduling DCI number may be indicated in the T-DAI field. In other words, the T-DAI field in scheduling DCI may be valid in predetermined scheduling cell (s) , rather in each scheduling cell. In some examples, the special scheduling cell may be the scheduling cell with the largest or smallest cell index in the PUCCH group. If the T-DAI is separately counted for single cell scheduling and for multiple cells scheduling, the special scheduling cell could be different or the same for single cell scheduling and multiple cell scheduling. C-DAI may be counted per scheduling cell. For DCI received in PDCCH monitoring occasions in the special scheduling cell, T-DAI indicates respective total number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in which DCIs for PDSCH scheduling are received until the current PDCCH monitoring. There could be no DAI field in other scheduling cells, or the T-DAI field in other scheduling cells could be ignored.

[0172] In some examples, the total scheduling DCI number (or T-DAI) may be separately counted for single cell scheduling and for multiple cells scheduling. In some specific examples, there could be two special cells in which T-DAI fields in the DCI received in the special cells are valid, and one special cell is for indicating T-DAI for single cell scheduling and the other special cell is for indicating T-DAI for multiple cells scheduling. FIG. 11A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 11B illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 11A and FIG. 11B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A and FIG. 5B, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells and the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs are omitted. As shown in FIGS. 11A and 11B, five sub-CBs are generated. Assuming the scheduling cell CC3 is the special cell for single cell scheduling and the scheduling cell CC4 is the special cell for multiple cell scheduling, the UE may receive, in specific scheduling cell, an indication to indicate the total scheduling DCI number until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion for each type of scheduling cell separately, e.g., in scheduling cell CC3 for single cell scheduling and in scheduling cell CC4 for multiple cell scheduling. DCI#6 in CC3 may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number for single cell scheduling until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., in DCI#6, T-DAI= 4. DCI#3 in CC4 may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number for multiple cell scheduling until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., in DCI#3, T-DAI=2. DCI#7 in CC4 may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number for multiple cell scheduling until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., in DCI#7, T-DAI=3.

[0173] In some alternative examples, the total scheduling DCI number (or T-DAI) may be jointly counted for single cell scheduling and multiple cells scheduling. FIG. 12A illustrates an example diagram of HARQ-ACK codebook generation in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 12B illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 12A and FIG. 12B is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A and FIG. 5A, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells and the connection and transmission of multiple sub-CBs are omitted. As shown in FIGS. 12A and 12B, five sub-CBs are generated. Assuming the scheduling cell CC4 is the special cell, the UE may receive, in the specific scheduling cell, an indication to indicate the total scheduling DCI number until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion. For example, the DCIs (i.e., DCI#3, DCI#7) in scheduling cell CC4 may include an indication of the total scheduling DCI number until the current PDCCH monitoring occasion, i.e., T-DAI=3 in DCI#3 and T-DAI=7 in DCI#7. If there is one DCI missing the UE may add pending bits in the CB. Thus, the total codebook size is not impacted. A two-bit T-DAI may be used to indicate the single scheduling cell indication (1bit) and the multiple scheduling cell indication (1bit) ..

[0174] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may determine a plurality of PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell for the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 respectively. The UE 104 may transmit the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 in the plurality of PUCCH resources respectively. In other words, separate PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell in the time unit may be determined for the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 generated per scheduling cell. The PUCCH resources may be generated per scheduling cell. The plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210 for different scheduling cells may be transmitted separately rather than being connected. In some example implementations, if at least two PUCCH resources among the plurality of PUCCH resources for the at least two HARQ-ACK codebooks are overlapped, the UE 104 may generate one HARQ-ACK codebook by connecting at least two HARQ-ACK codebooks among the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks 210. The one HARQ-ACK codebook may be transmitted in a further PUCCH resource in the PUCCH cell. In other words, if the PUCCH resources for HARQ-ACK codebooks of different scheduling cells are overlapped, then these HARQ-ACK codebooks would be multiplexed in one PUCCH resource. The multiplexing manner of the HARQ-ACK codebooks may be the same as in the above embodiments with reference to FIGS. 5A-12B, and detailed description thereof would be omitted.

[0175] FIG. 13 illustrates an example diagram of connection of HARQ-ACK codebooks for different scheduling cells in case of overlapping of PUCCH resources in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. The example of FIG. 13 is described with reference to the example of FIG. 4A, and the detailed descriptions of generation of multiple sub-CBs for different scheduling cells are omitted. As shown in FIG. 13, five sub-CBs are generated, and the UE may separately determine PUCCH resources used to transmit the five sub-CBs. The PUCCH resources may be determined per scheduling cell. As shown in FIG. 13, PUCCH resource#1 in the PUCCH cell in slot n is determined for transmission of the first sub-CB; PUCCH resource#2 in the PUCCH cell in slot n is determined for transmission of the second and third sub-CBs; PUCCH resource#3 in the PUCCH cell in slot n is determined for transmission of the fourth sub-CB; PUCCH resource#4 in the PUCCH cell in slot n is determined for transmission of the fifth sub-CB. If there is no overlapping between these PUCCH resources, the sub-CBs may be transmitted in respective PUCCH resources per scheduling cell. In the example shown in FIG. 13, assuming PUCCH resource#1, PUCCH resource#2 and PUCCH resource#3 are overlapped, then the UE may connect the sub-CBs in these PUCCH resources to form a single CB. The sub-CB connection may be implemented in similar manners as in FIG. 5A or 5B. A new PUCCH resource #5 in the PUCCH cell in slot n may be determined for the connected CB.

[0176] Hereinabove, the scheme of HARQ-ACK transmission in one PUCCH cell is designed. Hereinafter, the scheme of HARQ-ACK transmission in multiple PUCCH cells will be described. If UE would transmit multiplex HARQ-ACK codebooks in PUCCH resources in multiple PUCCH cells, and if these PUCCH resources are not overlapped or are transmitted in different slots, they can be transmitted separately. However, considering that there is no coordination between different cells, it’s difficult for gNB to control the overlapping between these PUCCH resources. Enhancements are needed regarding HARQ-ACK transmission in case of overlapping between multiple PUCCH resources in multiple PUCCH cells / carries.

[0177] In some embodiments, the UE 104 may determine a plurality of PUCCH resources in a plurality of PUCCH cells for transmission of respective HRAQ-ACK codebooks. If the plurality of PUCCH resources are not overlapped, the UE 104 may transmit the respective HRAQ-ACK codebooks to the base station 102 in the plurality of PUCCH resources in the plurality of PUCCH cells, respectively.

[0178] In some embodiments, if the plurality of PUCCH resources are overlapped, the UE 104 may multiplex uplink control information (UCI) bits in the plurality of PUCCH cells in one PUCCH resource in one PUCCH cell. The UCI bits may be multiplexed based on an ascending order of cell indexes of the plurality of PUCCH cells. The one PUCCH resource may be determined based on a bit number of the multiplexed UCI bits. In some examples, the one PUCCH cell for transmission of the multiplexed UCI bits may have a smallest cell index among the plurality of PUCCH cells. In some alternative examples, the one PUCCH cell for transmission of the multiplexed UCI bits may have a largest cell index among the plurality of PUCCH cells. In some alternative examples, the one PUCCH cell for transmission of the multiplexed UCI bits may be indicated by the base station 102.

[0179] In other words, multiple PUCCHs should be multiplexed in one PUCCH in one PUCCH cell / carrier when they are overlapped, so as to guarantee the reliability of PUCCH and coverage of PUCCH. The UCI bits may be connected in ascending order of PUCCH cell index. The UCI bits may be connected in the order of HARQ, SR, CSI. The cell index used to transmit the multiplexed PUCCHs may be the PUCCH cell with smallest / largest cell index among all the configured / overlapped PUCCH cell index, or it may be configured / indicated by gNB. The multiplexed PUCCH resource may be determined based on the number of bits of multiplexed UCI. The multiplexed PUCCH resource may be determined based on the last DCI associated with all the multiplexed UCI bits or determined based on the last DCI corresponding to the cell used for multiplexing. In some examples, such PUCCH processing could be used for PUCCH carrying HARQ-ACK. For SR / CSI, if overlapped, the PUCCH carrying SR / CSI could be dropped.

[0180] FIG. 14 illustrates an example diagram of multiplexing overlapping PUCCHs in different PUCCH cells in accordance with some example embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example shown in FIG. 14, there are multiple PUCCHs (e.g., PUCCH1, PUCCH2, PUCCH3) in multiple PUCCH cells / carriers (e.g., cell 1, cell 2, cell 3) . These PUCCHs are overlapped. Then, these overlapped PUCCHs are multiplexed in a same PUCCH (e.g., PUCCH1’ ) in a same PUCCH cell, such as PUCCH cell with the smallest cell index (i.e., cell 1) . The CB may be generated as in the above embodiments with reference to FIGS. 5A-13.

[0181] In some alternative embodiments, if the plurality of PUCCH resources are overlapped, the UE 104 may transmit, to the base station 102, respective UCI bits in at least one PUCCH cell of the plurality of PUCCH cells. The respective UCI bits in at least one PUCCH cell have higher priorities than remaining UCI bits in at least one remaining PUCCH cell of the plurality of PUCCH cells. The respective UCI bits may be transmitted in the at least one PUCCH cell with a first power satisfying power requirements of the respective UCI bits. In some examples, the remaining UCI bits may be not transmitted. In some alternative examples, the remaining UCI bits may be transmitted in the at least one remaining PUCCH cell with an averaged transmission power of a remaining transmission power of the UE 104. For example, the overlapped multiple PUCCHs could be transmitted simultaneously. If the total power is above the power limitation, the UE may guarantee the transmission power of PUCCH (s) with higher priority. The remaining transmission power may be averagely distributed among all the PUCCH (s) with lower priority. If there is no remaining power for PUCCH with lower priority, the PUCCH (s) with lower priority may be dropped.

[0182] In some alternative embodiments, if the plurality of PUCCH resources are overlapped, the UE 104 may multiplex UCI bits of a same UCI type in the plurality of PUCCH cells in one PUCCH resource in one PUCCH cell. For example, the overlapped multiple PUCCHs could be transmitted simultaneously. If the total power is above the power limitation, the UE may multiplex the PUCCH (s) with same UCI type in same PUCCH cell. The PUCCH multiplexing manner may be performed as in the above embodiments with reference to FIGS. 5A-13.

[0183] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may determine a plurality of PUCCH resources in a plurality of PUCCH cells for transmission of respective HRAQ-ACK codebooks. If the plurality of PUCCH resources are overlapped, and a number of PUCCH cells of the plurality of PUCCH cells is larger than a maximum number of PUCCH cells for simultaneous transmission, the UE 104 may drop transmission of a subset of UCI bits in at least one PUCCH cell of the plurality of PUCCH cells. The subset of UCI bits in at least one PUCCH cell have lower priorities than remaining UCI bits in at least one remaining PUCCH cell of the plurality of PUCCH cells. For example, the overlapped multiple PUCCHs could be transmitted simultaneously. If the number of PUCCHs overlapped in different cells exceeds the PUCCH transmission number limitation, the UE may drop the PUCCH (s) with lower priority.

[0184] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may determine a plurality of PUCCH resources in a plurality of PUCCH cells for transmission of respective HRAQ-ACK codebooks. If the plurality of PUCCH resources are overlapped, and a number of PUCCH cells of the plurality of PUCCH cells is larger than a maximum number of PUCCH cells for simultaneous transmission, the UE 104 may multiplex UCI bits of a same UCI type in the plurality of PUCCH cells. For example, the overlapped multiple PUCCHs could be transmitted simultaneously. If the number of PUCCHs overlapped in different cells exceeds the PUCCH transmission number limitation, the UE may multiplex PUCCH (s) with same UCI type in the same PUCCH cell.

[0185] In some alternative embodiments, the UE 104 may determine a plurality of PUCCH resources in a plurality of PUCCH cells for transmission of respective HRAQ-ACK codebooks. The UE 104 may multiplex UCI bits of a same UCI type in the at least one remaining PUCCH cell in one PUCCH resource in one PUCCH cell. For example, the overlapped multiple PUCCHs could be transmitted simultaneously. If the number of PUCCHs overlapped in different cells exceeds the PUCCH transmission number limitation, the UE may drop the PUCCH (s) with lower priority. For the PUCCH (s) with higher priority, the UE may multiplex PUCCH (s) with same UCI type in the same PUCCH cell.

[0186] In some examples, the UE 104 may transmit, to the base station 102, an indication of the maximum number of PUCCH cells for simultaneous transmission. In other words, the number of PUCCHs in different cells that could be transmitted simultaneously may be reported by the UE. For example, the number of PUCCHs in different cells that could be transmitted simultaneously may be determined by the number of transmit (TX) chain of the UE. In some alternative examples, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, an indication of the maximum number of PUCCH cells for simultaneous transmission. In other words, the number of PUCCHs in different cells that could be transmitted simultaneously may be indicated by gNB. For example, the number of PUCCHs in different cells that could be transmitted simultaneously may be up to gNB to control the number of PUCCHs transmitted simultaneously.

[0187] In some examples, a priority of UCI bits in a PUCCH cell may be determined based on a UCI type of the UCI bits. For example, the HARQ priority is higher than the SR priority, and the SR priority is higher than the CSI priority. Alternatively or additionally, a priority of UCI bits in a PUCCH cell may be determined based on a cell index of the PUCCH cell. For example, PUCCH in a cell with the smaller cell index may have higher priority. In another example, PUCCH in a cell with the larger cell index may have higher priority.

[0188] FIG. 15 illustrates an example of a device 1500 that supports HARQ-ACK transmission in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The device 1500 may be an example of a UE 104 or a base station 102 as described herein. The device 1500 may support wireless communication with one or more network entities 102, UEs 104, or any combination thereof. The device 1500 may include components for bi-directional communications including components for transmitting and receiving communications, such as a processor 1502, a memory 1504, a transceiver 1506, and, optionally, an I / O controller 1508. These components may be in electronic communication or otherwise coupled (e.g., operatively, communicatively, functionally, electronically, electrically) via one or more interfaces (e.g., buses) .

[0189] The processor 1502, the memory 1504, the transceiver 1506, or various combinations thereof or various components thereof may be examples of means for performing various aspects of the present disclosure as described herein. For example, the processor 1502, the memory 1504, the transceiver 1506, or various combinations or components thereof may support a method for performing one or more of the operations described herein.

[0190] In some implementations, the processor 1502, the memory 1504, the transceiver 1506, or various combinations or components thereof may be implemented in hardware (e.g., in communications management circuitry) . The hardware may include a processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, a discrete gate or transistor logic, discrete hardware components, or any combination thereof configured as or otherwise supporting a means for performing the functions described in the present disclosure. In some implementations, the processor 1502 and the memory 1504 coupled with the processor 1502 may be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein (e.g., executing, by the processor 1502, instructions stored in the memory 1504) .

[0191] For example, the processor 1502 may support wireless communication at the device 1500 in accordance with examples as disclosed herein. The processor 1502 may be configured to operable to support a means for determining a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) cell for transmission of a plurality of hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HRAQ-ACK) information in a time unit, wherein the plurality of HARQ-ACK information correspond to a plurality of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions in at least one scheduled cell; a means for generating a plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks based on the plurality of HARQ-ACK information, wherein each HARQ-ACK codebook of the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks carries at least one HARQ-ACK information corresponding to at least one PDSCH transmission, among the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, associated with a same scheduling cell; and a means for transmitting, to a base station, the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks in one or multiple PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell.

[0192] In another example, the processor 1502 may support wireless communication at the device 1500 in accordance with examples as disclosed herein. The processor 1502 may be configured to operable to support a means for determining a resource of a PUCCH transmission for carrying UCI ; a means for determining a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) cell for reception of a plurality of hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HRAQ-ACK) information in a time unit, wherein the plurality of HARQ-ACK information correspond to a plurality of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions in at least one scheduled cell; and a means for receiving, from a user equipment (UE) , a plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks in one or multiple PUCCH resources in the PUCCH cell, wherein each HARQ-ACK codebook of the plurality of HARQ-ACK codebooks carries at least one HARQ-ACK information corresponding to at least one PDSCH transmission, among the plurality of PDSCH transmissions, associated with a same scheduling cell.
