[0001] Cross-reference to related applications
[0002] This disclosure is based on and claims priority to Chinese patent application CN202510493523.2, filed on April 18, 2025, entitled “Message Receiving Method and Message Sending Method”, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0003] This disclosure relates to the field of communications, and more specifically, to a message receiving method and a message sending method. Background Technology
[0004] Coordinated Spatial Reuse (Co-SR) technology can significantly improve the total throughput of multi-AP networks by coordinating the transmission of multiple access points (APs). Its performance gain is positively correlated with the number of APs participating in the cooperation. However, as the number of cooperating APs increases, the complexity of implementing Co-SR technology also increases.
[0005] In unidirectional Co-SR, while the sharing AP can suppress interference from the shared AP to its destination STA through power constraints, it cannot detect cross-interference between the shared APs. When the destination STA corresponding to the shared AP is located in the overlapping service area of multiple APs, it may cause serious co-channel interference problems. Summary of the Invention
[0006] This disclosure provides a message receiving method and a message sending method to at least solve the problem in related technologies where multiple APs sharing an AP in a collaborative Co-SR scenario cannot perceive cross-interference between the shared APs.

[0009] According to yet another embodiment of this disclosure, a computer-readable storage medium is also provided, wherein a computer program is stored therein, wherein the computer program is configured to perform the steps in any of the above method embodiments when it is run.
[0010] According to yet another embodiment of this disclosure, an electronic device is also provided, including a memory and a processor, wherein the memory stores a computer program and the processor is configured to run the computer program to perform the steps in any of the above method embodiments.

[0025] The embodiments of this disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and examples.
[0026] It should be noted that the terms "first," "second," etc., in the specification, claims, and drawings of this disclosure are used to distinguish similar objects and are not necessarily used to describe a specific order or sequence.
[0027] The following explains the relevant technical terms used in the embodiments of this disclosure:
[0028] Fiber to the Room (FTTR) technology connects wireless access points (APs) in different rooms or locations in homes or small and medium-sized enterprises using optical fiber, thereby providing high-bandwidth and high-reliability connections between multiple APs. It can utilize point-to-multipoint optical distribution networks to achieve connections between master control APs and slave APs.
[0029] The 802.11ax standard introduces Spatial Reuse (SR) technology to reduce the mutual interference caused by multiple Basic Service Sets (BSS) operating on the same channel. The goal of SR technology in densely deployed scenarios is to enable more frequent multiplexing of media among OBSSs by identifying and managing interference from overlapping BSSs early on. SR allows concurrent transmission between devices within tolerable interference ranges, thereby making full use of time-frequency resources.
[0030] SR technology creates more transmission opportunities by allowing the use of a more aggressive OBSS_PDlevel threshold instead of the traditional CCA-CS threshold. When an Inter-BSS frame is detected, an OBSS / PD (Overlapping Basic Service Set-Preamble Detection) mechanism is employed to increase the probability of reusing the space and dynamically adjust the transmit power to reduce interference with the OBSS.
[0031] The IEEE 802.11bn standard defines a general framework for MAP (Multi-AP) collaboration, whose core functions include:
[0032] (1) MAP Coordination Discovery (MAP): used to identify APs that can participate in the coordination and establish a collaborative relationship;
[0033] (2) MAP Coordination Agreement Negotiation: used to negotiate coordination parameters and resource configuration.
[0034] In MAP collaboration, the AP that acquires TXOP and shares the resource with other APs is called the sharing AP, while the AP that receives the shared resource is called the shared AP.
[0035] The destination STA of an AP refers to the designated receiving STA for the message sent by the AP.
[0036] The goal of Co-SR is to improve channel utilization by enabling multiple access points (APs) to transmit concurrently through transmit power control. Co-SR transmission is initiated by the AP that acquires the TXOP (Transmission Optimization Point), which becomes the sharing AP. The sharing AP initiates Co-SR transmission to the shared AP by sending a trigger frame.
[0037] As a MAP collaboration technology, Co-SR inherits the basic processes of MAP collaboration discovery and protocol negotiation. In addition, Co-SR includes a series of independent processes, such as MAP collaboration measurement and collaborative Co-SR transmission.
[0038] The IEEE 802.11 standard also defines a "wireless measurement request / response" mechanism, which allows the AP to request the STA to measure the Overlapping Basic Service Set (OBSS) signal. The general process is as follows:
[0039] (1) The AP sends a "wireless measurement request frame" to the STA in the same BSS.
[0040] (2) The STA begins measurement statistics; typically, the STA needs to temporarily switch to the main channel to measure the OBSS signal.
[0041] (3) The STA responds to the AP with a "wireless measurement report frame".
[0042] Measuring Beacon frames is a typical method for measuring RSSI because the transmit power of Beacon frames is relatively static compared to other frames. STAs can retrieve and report information from Beacon frames to measure the signal strength of associated APs and OBSS APs.
[0043] By exchanging the transmission power of Beacon frames between APs, the path loss between each STA and the OBSS AP can be easily obtained.
[0044] Whether active or passive, Beacon measurements typically require more than 100-200 milliseconds to complete. This lengthy measurement process presents several problems: the AP cannot acquire real-time information, and the STA experiences increased power consumption due to the extended measurement time required.
[0045] Co-SR technology significantly improves the overall throughput of multi-AP networks by coordinating the transmission of multiple APs, and its performance gain is positively correlated with the number of APs participating in the cooperation. However, the implementation complexity of Co-SR technology increases with the number of cooperating APs. In unidirectional Co-SR, the sharing AP can suppress interference from shared APs to its own destination STA through power constraints, but it cannot detect cross-interference between shared APs. When the destination STA of a shared AP is located in the overlapping service area of multiple shared APs, it can potentially cause severe co-channel interference problems.
[0046] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a Co-SR scenario with multiple cooperating APs according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 1, when AP1, as a sharing AP, selects AP2 and AP3 as shared APs, although power control avoids interference between the two APs on STA1, the potential impact of AP3 on AP2's serving terminal STA2 is not considered. Since STA2 is located in the coverage overlap area of AP2 and AP3, it will be simultaneously affected by the downlink signal interference of AP3, which may cause transmission failure.
[0047] A simple solution is to limit the number of shared APs to one, but this would cause Co-SR technology to lose its core advantage of multi-AP collaboration, severely limiting the improvement in system throughput. In certain scenarios, the system throughput might even be lower than that of traditional SR solutions. Therefore, an enhanced Co-SR mechanism that supports multi-shared AP collaboration is needed to address the cross-interference problem among multiple shared APs while ensuring the multi-AP collaboration gain.
[0048] The method embodiments provided in this disclosure can be executed in a network device or a similar computing device. Taking running on a network device as an example, FIG2 is a hardware structure block diagram of the network device in which the method embodiments of this disclosure run. As shown in FIG2, the network device may include one or more (only one is shown in FIG2) processors 102 (processor 102 may include, but is not limited to, processing devices such as microprocessors MCUs or programmable logic devices FPGAs) and a memory 104 for storing data. The network device may also include a transmission device 106 for communication functions and an input / output device 108. Those skilled in the art will understand that the structure shown in FIG2 is only illustrative and does not limit the structure of the network device. For example, the network device may also include more or fewer components than shown in FIG2, or have a different configuration than shown in FIG2.
[0049] The memory 104 can be used to store computer programs, such as application software programs and modules, like the computer program corresponding to the message receiving / sending method in this embodiment. The processor 102 executes various functional applications and data processing by running the computer program stored in the memory 104, thus implementing the above-described method. The memory 104 may include high-speed random access memory and may also include non-volatile memory, such as one or more magnetic storage devices, flash memory, or other non-volatile solid-state memory. In some instances, the memory 104 may further include memory remotely located relative to the processor 102, and these remote memories can be connected to network devices via a network. Examples of such networks include, but are not limited to, the Internet, corporate intranets, local area networks, mobile communication networks, and combinations thereof.
[0050] The transmission device 106 is used to receive or send data via a network. Specific examples of the network described above may include a wireless network provided by a communication provider for the network device. In one example, the transmission device 106 includes a Network Interface Controller (NIC), which can connect to other network devices via a base station to communicate with the Internet. In another example, the transmission device 106 may be a Radio Frequency (RF) module used for wireless communication with the Internet.
[0051] This embodiment provides a message receiving method operating on the aforementioned network device or first access point device. Figure 3 is a flowchart of the message receiving method according to an embodiment of this disclosure. As shown in Figure 3, the process includes the following steps:
[0052] Step S302: Receive a first information frame sent by the second access point device, wherein the first information frame includes parameter information of the interfering access point device of the terminal device of the second access point device. Functionally, the first access point device is equivalent to a sharing AP, which can share resources with the second access point device after obtaining a TXOP. The second access point device is functionally equivalent to a candidate shared AP, which is an AP that has established a Coordinated Space Multiplexing (Co-SR) multi-access point cooperation protocol with the first access point device, i.e., it may be selected as the AP to cooperate with the sharing AP for data transmission.
[0053] In one embodiment, before receiving the first information frame sent by the second access point device, the method further includes: sending a second information frame to the second access point device, wherein the second information frame includes a first field; the first field carries parameter information of one or more of the third access point devices.
[0054] In one embodiment, the first field may also carry parameter information for zero third access point devices.
[0055] In one embodiment, the first information frame includes, but is not limited to, one of the following information frames: beacon, MAP / Co-SR protocol negotiation frame, and MAP / Co-SR information declaration frame.
[0056] In one embodiment, both the second access point device and the third access point device belong to a subset of the set of access point devices that have established a Co-SR (Coordinated Space Reuse) multi-access point cooperation protocol with the first access point device. The second access point device is located in subset A of the set of OBSS APs that have negotiated the Co-SR protocol with the first access point device, and the third access point device is located in subset B of the set of OBSS APs that have negotiated the Co-SR protocol with the first access point device. Subset A may be the same as or different from subset B, or they may overlap.
[0057] In one embodiment, the first field includes one or more second fields; each second field carries parameter information of a third access point device, which is located in a subset of the set of access point devices that have established a Coordinated Space Reuse (Co-SR) multi-access point coordination protocol with the first access point device.
[0058] In one embodiment, the first field may also include zero second fields.
[0059] In one embodiment, the first information frame includes a third field, which carries parameter information of one or more fourth access point devices, wherein the fourth access point device is an interference access point device of the terminal device of the second access point device.
[0060] In some exemplary embodiments, when there are multiple second access point devices, the first access point device can send second information frames to all other second access point devices in a polling manner to obtain the interference AP information of the target STA of all other second access point devices; in other exemplary instances, the first access point device can perform frame interaction of the first information frame and the second information frame with all its second access point devices in the manner of MU transmission between APs.
[0061] In one embodiment, the method further includes: sending a third information frame to the second access point device, wherein the third information frame carries information about the first access point device's support for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices.
[0062] In one embodiment, the method further includes: receiving a fourth information frame sent by the second access point device, wherein the fourth information frame carries information about the second access point device's support for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices.
[0063] In one exemplary embodiment, the third or fourth information frame includes, but is not limited to, one of the following: Beacon, MAP protocol negotiation frame, MAP discovery frame, Co-SR related management frame or control frame.
[0064] In one embodiment, the information regarding the support of Co-SR mode for multiple shared access point devices includes at least one of the following: information regarding the support of the first access point device or the second access point device as a sharing access point device for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices; or information regarding the support of the first access point device or the second access point device as a shared access point device for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices.
[0065] Through the above steps, since the information frame carries the interference access point device information of the terminal device of the second access point device, the first access point device can cooperate with the second access point device to perform Co-SR based on this interference access point device information, avoiding cross-interference between multiple second access point devices. Therefore, it can solve the problem in related technologies where the sharing AP cannot perceive the cross-interference between the shared APs in a cooperative Co-SR scenario, thereby improving the performance gain of Co-SR technology in a multi-AP environment.
[0066] This disclosure also provides a message sending method, which can be run on the aforementioned network device or second access point device. Figure 4 is a flowchart of the message sending method according to an embodiment of this disclosure. As shown in Figure 4, the process includes the following steps:
[0067] Step S402: Send a first information frame to the first access point device, wherein the first information frame includes parameter information of the interference access point device of the terminal device of the second access point device.
[0068] Before step S402 in this embodiment, the method further includes: receiving a second information frame sent by the first access point device, wherein the second information frame includes a first field; the first field carries parameter information of one or more third access point devices, wherein the third access point devices are located in a subset of access point devices that have established a Coordinated Space Reuse (Co-SR) multi-access point coordination protocol with the first access point device.
[0069] In one embodiment, the first field includes one or more second fields; each second field carries parameter information of a third access point device.
[0070] In one embodiment, the first information frame includes a third field, which carries parameter information of one or more fourth access point devices, wherein the fourth access point device is an interference access point device of the terminal device of the second access point device.
[0071] In one embodiment, the method further includes: receiving a third information frame sent by the first access point device, wherein the third information frame carries information about the first access point device's support for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices.
[0072] In one embodiment, the method further includes: sending a fourth information frame to the first access point device, wherein the fourth information frame carries information about the second access point device's support for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices.
[0073] In one embodiment, the information regarding the support of Co-SR mode for multiple shared access point devices includes at least one of the following: information regarding the support of the first access point device or the second access point device as a sharing access point device for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices; or information regarding the support of the first access point device or the second access point device as a shared access point device for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared access point devices.
[0074] Figure 5 is a schematic diagram of the frame interaction flow of a method for supporting multiple shared APs Co-SR according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 5, the flow may include the following steps:
[0075] In step S502, AP1 sends an Interference AP Information Request frame to AP2 to request AP2 to report the interfering AP information of its destination STA. The Interference AP Information Request frame is functionally equivalent to the first information frame in the above embodiment, AP1 is functionally equivalent to the first access point device in the above embodiment, AP2 is functionally equivalent to the second access point device in the above embodiment, and the destination STA is functionally equivalent to the terminal device of the second access point device in the above embodiment.
[0076] In step S504, AP2 sends an Interference AP Information Report frame to AP1 to report the interfering AP information of its target STA. The Interference AP Information Report frame is functionally equivalent to the second information frame in the above embodiment.
[0077] The interfering AP of the destination STA refers to the OBSS AP whose transmissions will cause a certain degree of interference to the data reception of the STA.
[0078] In some exemplary embodiments, the Interference AP Information Request frame sent by AP1 in step S502 includes a Candidate Shared AP List field, which carries information about candidate shared APs of AP1 that may cooperate with AP1 in Co-SR transmission. The candidate shared APs of AP1 are a subset A of OBSS APs that have negotiated and established a Co-SR protocol with AP1. The Candidate Shared AP List field is functionally equivalent to the first field in the above embodiments.
[0079] In some exemplary embodiments, the AP may include a Candidate Shared AP List field in certain information frames, such as beacon frames, MAP / Co-SR protocol negotiation frames, or MAP / Co-SR information announcement frames, to announce a subset B of information about candidate shared APs (i.e., third access point devices) that have established a Co-SR protocol with this AP. The relationship between subset A and subset B can be that subset A is equal to subset B, subset A is not equal to subset B, or there is overlap between subset A and subset B.
[0080] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of the format of the Candidate Shared AP List field according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 6, the field contains N Per Candidate Shared AP Info fields, where N is an integer greater than or equal to 0; wherein, the Per Candidate Shared AP Info field is functionally equivalent to the second field in the above embodiment.
[0081] Each Per Candidate Shared AP Info field carries information about a candidate shared AP of AP1 that may be cooperating with AP1 in Co-SR transmission. Detailed descriptions of the possible subfields are shown in Table 1. Each Per Candidate Shared AP Info field should contain at least one subfield from the table:
[0082] Table 1
[0083] In some exemplary embodiments, the Interference AP Information Report frame sent by AP2 in step S504 includes an Interference AP List field, which carries potential interfering AP information of the target STA of AP2; the Interference AP List field is functionally equivalent to the third field in the above embodiments; the potential interfering AP of the target STA is functionally equivalent to the fourth access point device in the above embodiments.
[0084] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of the Interference AP List field format according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 7, the Interference AP List field contains interference AP information for a specified STA, including N Per Interference AP Info fields, where N is an integer greater than or equal to 0. Each Per Interference AP Info field carries information about the interference APs received by the specified target STA. A detailed description of each subfield that it may contain is shown in Table 2. The Per Interference AP Info field should contain at least one subfield from the table.
[0085] Table 2
[0086] Figure 8 is a schematic diagram of the Interference AP List field format according to another exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 8, the Interference AP List field contains interfering AP information for multiple associated STAs of AP2, including N Per STA Interference AP Info fields, where N is an integer greater than or equal to 0. [0087] Table 3
[0088] In some exemplary embodiments, the Interference AP Information Request frame and the Interference AP Information Report frame are management frames or control frames.
[0089] Figure 9 is a schematic diagram of the polling frame interaction process according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 9, when there are multiple APs, AP1 can send Interference AP Information Request frames to all other APs in a polling manner to obtain the interference AP information of the target STA of all other APs.
[0090] Figure 10 is a schematic diagram of the frame interaction process of MU transmission according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 10, AP1 can perform frame interaction with all other APs in the manner of inter-AP MU transmission, using Interference AP Information Request frames and Interference AP Information Report frames.
[0091] In some exemplary embodiments, AP1 or AP2 announces whether it supports Co-SR mode for multiple shared APs by sending an information frame. This information frame is functionally equivalent to the third information frame in the above embodiments, and it can be at least one of Beacon, MAP protocol negotiation frame, MAP discovery frame, Co-SR related management frame or control frame. AP1 is functionally equivalent to the first access point device in the above embodiments, and AP2 is functionally equivalent to the second access point device in the above embodiments.
[0092] For example, AP1 sends a Co-SR information request frame to request information on the Co-SR mode support of other APs' shared APs. After receiving the Co-SR information request frame, other APs send information frames in response. Figure 11 is a schematic diagram of the Multiple Shared AP Support field format according to an embodiment of this disclosure. The Multiple Shared AP Support field can be set in the third information frame in the above embodiment. As shown in Figure 11, the Multiple Shared AP Support field carries information on the AP's support for the Co-SR mode of shared APs. If the field value is 1, it means that the sending AP supports Co-SR of shared APs; if the value is 0, it means that it does not support it.
[0093] Figure 12 is a schematic diagram of the Multiple Shared AP Support Mode field format according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The Multiple Shared AP Support Mode field can be set in the third information frame in the above embodiment. As shown in Figure 12, the Multiple Shared AP Support Mode field can carry the support status of this AP for the Co-SR mode of multiple shared APs. Specifically, the definition of this field is shown in Table 4:
[0094] Table 4 details the meaning of the Multiple Shared AP Support Mode field under different values.
[0095] Table 4
[0096] Figure 13 is a schematic diagram of the enhanced Co-SR process supporting multiple shared APs according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. This enhanced Co-SR process supporting multiple shared APs is applied in a multi-AP scenario. AP1 negotiates the MAP protocol with AP2, AP3, and AP4 in advance and establishes the Co-SR protocol. AP1 obtains TXOP and becomes a sharing AP. The destination STAs of AP1, AP2, AP3, and AP4 are STA1, STA2, STA3, and STA4, respectively. Among them, AP1 is functionally equivalent to the first access point device in the above embodiment, and AP2, AP3, and AP4 are functionally equivalent to the second access point devices in the above embodiment.
[0097] As shown in Figure 13, the process includes the following steps:
[0098] In step S1301, the Sharing AP (AP1) sends an ICF (Initial Control Frame) to multiple candidate shared APs (AP2, AP3, AP4).
[0099] The ICF contains basic Co-SR initialization information, such as the cooperation type and Co-SR mode, as well as a Candidate Shared AP List field, which carries information about multiple candidate shared APs that may cooperate with it for Co-SR transmission.
[0100] In step S1302, AP2, AP3, and AP4 send ICR (Initial Control Response) frames to AP1.
[0101] The ICR frame contains basic Co-SR initial response information, such as whether it participates in this Co-SR transmission, transmission power, transmission mode, etc., as well as the Interference AP List field; the ICR is used to carry information about the interfering APs of the destination STA of this candidate shared AP in this Co-SR transmission.
[0102] Step S1302 includes steps S13021, S13022, and S13023 in Figure 12.
[0103] In step S1303, AP1 sends a Co-SR trigger frame to the finally determined shared Aps.
[0104] In this embodiment, the final selected shared APs must ensure that there is no potential cross-interference between them; for example, AP2 and AP3 cannot be selected as shared APs at the same time. The Sharing AP determines the final shared APs (such as AP2, AP4, or other AP combinations without interference) based on the Interference AP List reported by all APs, and carries the information of the shared APs in the Co-SR trigger frame.
[0105] In step S1304, AP1, AP2, and AP4 cooperate to perform Co-SR transmission.
[0106] The enhanced Co-SR method that supports multiple shared APs provided by the above embodiments of this disclosure allows each AP to exchange information about the interfering APs of its target STA before Co-SR transmission. This information is used to share the AP to determine the shared AP for Co-SR transmission. This method is simple to implement and can support multiple shared APs to perform Co-SR transmission simultaneously while avoiding cross-interference.
