Description

Communication methods and communication devices

[0001] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202510494986.0, filed on April 18, 2025, entitled "Communication Method and Communication Apparatus", the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field

[0002] This application relates to the field of communications, and more particularly to a communication method and a communication device. Background Technology

[0003] In wireless communication systems, the reliability of communication can be improved through hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback technology. The basic idea of HARQ is: if the terminal successfully receives data, it sends an acknowledgment (ACK) to the base station to indicate successful data reception; if reception fails, it sends a negative acknowledgment (NACK) to the base station to indicate data reception failure. Correspondingly, for the base station, if it receives an ACK, it sends the next data to the terminal; if it receives a NACK, it retransmits the previous data.

[0004] However, analysis revealed that the above method suffers from low transmission efficiency. Summary of the Invention

[0005] This application provides a communication method and a communication device that can improve data transmission efficiency.

[0006] In a first aspect, embodiments of this application provide a communication method, which can be executed by a first communication device. For example, it can be executed by the entire first communication device itself, or by a component (such as a processor, chip, chip system, etc.) configured in the first communication device, or by a logic module or software capable of implementing all or part of the functions of the first communication device. This application does not limit the scope of the method.

[0007] The communication method includes: receiving first data on a first time-frequency resource; transmitting the first data through N transport streams; the first data includes first retransmitted data and first initial data; the first retransmitted data is the data of a retransmitted first data block; the first initial data is the data of an initially transmitted second data block; the first retransmitted data is transmitted through M of the N transport streams; and the first initial data is transmitted through transport streams other than the M transport streams from the N transport streams, where N is a positive integer greater than 1 and M is a positive integer less than N; and obtaining a first data block based on the data transmitted in the M transport streams.

[0008] In this application, the first retransmission data refers to the data of the retransmitted first data block, or alternatively, the first retransmission data refers to the retransmission data of the first data block. The first initial transmission data refers to the data of the initially transmitted second data block, or alternatively, the first initial transmission data refers to the initial transmission data of the second data block.

[0009] The data in the first data block of the initial transmission is also called the second initial transmission data.

[0010] In this application, the end that sends the first data is referred to as the second communication device.

[0011] In other words, the first data received by the first communication device can be considered to include two parts: one part is the data of the first data block retransmitted by the second communication device, and the other part is the data of the second data block initially transmitted by the second communication device. In this application, the initial transmission can also be understood as the retransmission.

[0012] Based on the method provided in the first aspect, since the second data block is transmitted simultaneously with the retransmission of the first data block, the latency of the second communication device sending the second data block can be reduced, thereby improving the data transmission efficiency between the first and second communication devices. Furthermore, in this technical solution, the retransmitted first data block and the initially transmitted second data block occupy the same time-frequency resources, thus also improving the utilization rate of time-frequency resources.

[0013] In conjunction with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the method further includes: receiving first information and second information, wherein the first information is used to indicate M of the N transport streams used to transmit the first retransmission data, and the second information is used to indicate the identifier of the first data block corresponding to the first retransmission data and the identifier of the second data block corresponding to the first initial transmission data.

[0014] Thus, the first communication device can know, based on the first information, which of the N transmission streams transmits the first retransmission data and which transmission streams transmit the first initial transmission data, and based on the second information, know the second data block corresponding to the newly transmitted first initial transmission data and the first data block corresponding to the first retransmission data.

[0015] In conjunction with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the method further includes: receiving third information, the third information being used to indicate that the first data is data including initial transmission data and retransmission data.

[0016] Alternatively, the third information can be understood as indicating that the first data is a mixture of transmitted and retransmitted data. Thus, upon receiving the third information, the second communication device can determine that the first data it sent is mixed data. Therefore, when receiving the first data, it can directly store the initial transmitted data and then merge the first retransmitted data with the data stored in the partition corresponding to the first data block in the buffer to determine the first data block.

[0017] In conjunction with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the method further includes: receiving fourth information, the fourth information being used to indicate the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the MCS corresponding to the first initial transmitted data.

[0018] In this implementation, the MCS corresponding to the first retransmission data can be flexibly indicated. When the indicated MCS corresponding to the first retransmission data is less than the MCS corresponding to the transmitted second initial transmission data, the first time-frequency resources used for transmitting the first data can be reduced. Conversely, when the indicated MCS corresponding to the first retransmission data is greater than the MCS corresponding to the transmitted second initial transmission data, it helps to increase the probability of successful retransmission.

[0019] In conjunction with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the method further includes: receiving fifth information, the fifth information being used to indicate the redundant version (RV) corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the RV corresponding to the first initial transmitted data.

[0020] Based on this implementation method, the RV corresponding to the first retransmission data can be flexibly indicated. In this way, the number of times the first data block is retransmitted can be reduced by optimizing the RV corresponding to the first retransmission data.

[0021] In conjunction with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the method further includes: sending a sixth message, the sixth message including a first confirmation message and a second confirmation message, the first confirmation message indicating whether the first data block was successfully received, and the second confirmation message indicating whether the second data block was successfully received; or...

[0022] The first confirmation message is used to indicate whether each code block group (CBG) included in the first data block has been successfully received, and the second confirmation message is used to indicate whether each CBG included in the second data block has been successfully received.

[0023] In this way, after the second communication device receives the sixth information, it can determine whether the first data block and / or the second data block have been successfully transmitted based on the sixth information, and thus determine the next data to be sent.

[0024] In conjunction with the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, before receiving the first data on the first time-frequency resource, the method further includes: sending a seventh message, the seventh message indicating the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of the demodulated signal corresponding to each transport stream used for transmitting the second initial transmission data, wherein the second initial transmission data is the data of the first data block of the initial transmission; wherein the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to each transport stream is used to determine the M transport streams among the N transport streams used for transmitting the first retransmission data.

[0025] Based on this implementation, when the second communication device determines the M transmission streams used to transmit the first retransmission data, it can refer to the SINR of the demodulation signal corresponding to each of the above transmission streams reported by the first communication device, so as to determine the M transmission streams that can make the first retransmission data occupy the fewest transmission streams and still be retransmitted successfully in one go based on the SINR of the demodulation signal corresponding to each of the reported transmission streams.

[0026] Secondly, embodiments of this application provide a communication method that can be executed by a second communication device. For example, it can be executed by the second communication device itself, or by a component (such as a processor, chip, chip system, etc.) configured in the second communication device, or by a logic module or software capable of implementing all or part of the functions of the second communication device. This application does not limit the scope of the method.

[0027] The communication method includes: transmitting first data on a first time-frequency resource, the first data being transmitted through N transport streams, the first data including first retransmission data and first initial transmission data, the first retransmission data being the data of a retransmitted first data block, the first initial transmission data being the data of an initially transmitted second data block, the first retransmission data being transmitted through M of the N transport streams, and the first initial transmission data being transmitted through transport streams other than M of the N transport streams, where N is a positive integer greater than 1 and M is a positive integer less than N.

[0028] In conjunction with the second aspect, in some implementations of the second aspect, the method further includes: sending first information and second information, wherein the first information is used to indicate M of the N transport streams used to transmit the first retransmission data, and the second information is used to indicate the identifier of the first data block corresponding to the first retransmission data and the identifier of the second data block corresponding to the first initial transmission data.

[0029] In conjunction with the second aspect, in some implementations of the second aspect, the method further includes: sending third information, wherein the third information is used to indicate that the first data is data including initial transmission data and retransmission data.

[0030] In conjunction with the second aspect, in some implementations of the second aspect, the method further includes: sending fourth information, which is used to indicate the MCS corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the MCS corresponding to the first initial transmitted data.

[0031] In conjunction with the second aspect, in some implementations of the second aspect, the method further includes: sending a fifth message, the fifth message being used to indicate the RV corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the RV corresponding to the first initial transmitted data.

[0032] In conjunction with the second aspect, in some implementations of the second aspect, the method further includes: receiving sixth information, the sixth information including first confirmation information and second confirmation information, the first confirmation information being used to indicate whether the first data block was successfully received, and the second confirmation information being used to indicate whether the second data block was successfully received; or, the first confirmation information being used to indicate whether each CBG included in the first data block was successfully received, and the second confirmation information being used to indicate whether each CBG included in the second data block was successfully received.

[0033] In conjunction with the second aspect, in some implementations of the second aspect, before transmitting the first data on the first time-frequency resource, the method further includes: receiving seventh information, the seventh information indicating the SINR of the demodulation signal corresponding to each transport stream used for transmitting the second initial transmission data, the second initial transmission data being the data of the first data block of the initial transmission; wherein, the SINR of the demodulation signal corresponding to each transport stream is used to determine the M transport streams among the N transport streams used for transmitting the first retransmission data.

[0073] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of the architecture of a communication system 1000 provided in an embodiment of this application. It is understood that the system architecture described in this application embodiment is for the purpose of more clearly illustrating the technical solutions of this application embodiment and does not constitute a limitation on the technical solutions provided in this application embodiment.

[0074] As shown in Figure 1, the communication system 1000 includes a radio access network (RAN) 100, wherein the RAN 100 includes at least one RAN node (110a and 110b in Figure 1, collectively referred to as 110), and may also include at least one terminal (120a-120j in Figure 1, collectively referred to as 120). The RAN 100 may also include other RAN nodes, such as wireless relay equipment and / or wireless backhaul equipment (not shown in Figure 1). The terminal 120 is wirelessly connected to the RAN node 110. Terminals and RAN nodes can be interconnected via wired or wireless means. The communication system 1000 may also include a core network 200. The RAN node 110 is connected to the core network 200 wirelessly or via wired means. The core network equipment in the core network 200 and the RAN node 110 in the RAN 100 can be independent and different physical devices, or they can be the same physical device integrating the logical functions of the core network equipment and the logical functions of the RAN node. The communication system 1000 may also include an Internet 300.

[0075] RAN100 can be an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) system, a new radio (NR) system, or a future radio access system as defined in the 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP). RAN100 can also include two or more of the above-mentioned different radio access systems. RAN100 can also be an open RAN (O-RAN).

[0076] RAN nodes, also known as radio access network devices, RAN entities, or access nodes, are used to help terminals access communication systems wirelessly. In one application scenario, an RAN node can be a base station, an evolved NodeB (eNodeB), a transmission reception point (TRP), a next-generation NodeB (gNB) in a 5G mobile communication system, or a base station in a future mobile communication system. RAN nodes can be macro base stations (as shown in Figure 1, 110a), micro base stations or indoor stations (as shown in Figure 1, 110b), relay nodes, or donor nodes.

[0077] In another application scenario, multiple RAN nodes can collaborate to help terminals achieve wireless access, with different RAN nodes implementing different functions of the base station. For example, a RAN node can be a central unit (CU), a distributed unit (DU), or a radio unit (RU). Here, the CU performs the functions of the base station's Radio Resource Control (RRC) and Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP), and can also perform the functions of the Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP). The DU performs the functions of the base station's Radio Link Control (RANC) and Medium Access Control (MAC) layers, and can also perform some or all of the physical layer functions. For specific descriptions of these protocol layers, refer to the relevant 3GPP technical specifications. The RU can be used to implement radio frequency signal transmission and reception. The CU and DU can be two independent RAN nodes or integrated into the same RAN node, such as within a baseband unit (BBU). The RU can be included in radio frequency equipment, such as in a remote radio unit (RRU) or an active antenna unit (AAU). The CU can be further divided into two types of RAN nodes: CU-control plane and CU-user plane.

[0078] In different systems, RAN nodes may have different names. For example, in an O-RAN system, a CU can be called an open CU (O-CU), a DU can be called an open DU (O-DU), and an RU can be called an open RU (O-RU). The RAN nodes in the embodiments of this application can be implemented through software modules, hardware modules, or a combination of software and hardware modules. For example, a RAN node can be a server loaded with the corresponding software modules. The embodiments of this application do not limit the specific technology or device form used in the RAN nodes. For ease of description, a base station is used as an example of a RAN node in the following description.

[0079] A terminal is a device with wireless transceiver capabilities, capable of sending signals to or receiving signals from a base station. Terminals can also be called terminal equipment, user equipment (UE), mobile station, mobile terminal, etc. Terminals can be widely used in various scenarios, such as device-to-device (D2D), vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, machine-type communication (MTC), Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality, augmented reality, industrial control, autonomous driving, telemedicine, smart grids, smart furniture, smart offices, smart wearables, smart transportation, smart cities, etc. Terminals can be mobile phones, tablets, computers with wireless transceiver capabilities, wearable devices, vehicles, airplanes, ships, robots, robotic arms, smart home devices, etc. The embodiments of this application do not limit the specific technology or device form used in the terminal.

[0080] Base stations and terminals can be fixed or mobile. They can be deployed on land, including indoors or outdoors, handheld or vehicle-mounted; they can also be deployed on water; and they can be deployed on aircraft, balloons, and satellites. The embodiments of this application do not limit the application scenarios of the base stations and terminals.

[0081] The roles of base stations and terminals can be relative. For example, the helicopter or drone 120i in Figure 1 can be configured as a mobile base station. For terminals 120j that access the wireless access network 100 through 120i, terminal 120i is a base station; however, for base station 110a, 120i is a terminal, meaning that 110a and 120i communicate via a wireless air interface protocol. Of course, 110a and 120i can also communicate via a base station-to-base station interface protocol. In this case, relative to 110a, 120i is also a base station. Therefore, both base stations and terminals can be collectively referred to as communication devices. 110a and 110b in Figure 1 can be called communication devices with base station functions, and 120a-120j in Figure 1 can be called communication devices with terminal functions.

[0082] Communication between base stations and terminals, between base stations, and between terminals can be conducted using licensed spectrum, unlicensed spectrum, or both simultaneously. Communication can be conducted using spectrum below 6 GHz, spectrum above 6 GHz, or both simultaneously. The embodiments of this application do not limit the spectrum resources used for wireless communication.

[0083] In the embodiments of this application, the functions of the base station can be executed by modules (such as chips) within the base station, or by a control subsystem that includes base station functions. This control subsystem, including base station functions, can be a control center in the aforementioned application scenarios such as smart grids, industrial control, intelligent transportation, and smart cities. Similarly, the functions of the terminal can be executed by modules (such as chips or modems) within the terminal, or by a device that includes terminal functions.

[0084] To facilitate understanding of the technical solutions provided in this application, some concepts involved in this application will be introduced below.

[0085] 1. HARQ

[0086] HARQ is a technique that combines forward error correction (FEC) and automatic repeat request (ARQ). In HARQ, after the sender transmits a transport block (for ease of understanding, denoted as transport block #1):

[0087] 1) If the receiving end successfully decodes transport block #1, it sends an ACK to the sending end to indicate that transport block #1 was successfully received. Correspondingly, after receiving the ACK, the sending end can send the next new transport block (e.g., transport block #2) to the receiving end.

[0088] 2) If the receiver fails to decode transport block #1, it buffers the received data and sends a NACK to the sender to indicate that the decoding of transport block #1 has failed; correspondingly, the sender retransmits the data of transport block #1 after receiving the NACK; the receiver receives the retransmitted data of transport block #1 and merges the data of transport block #1 received multiple times to obtain transport block #1.

[0089] In one implementation, each transport block corresponds to a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for error detection. At the receiving end, the transport block #1 sent by the sending end can be verified based on the CRC to determine whether decoding was successful.

[0090] Generally, the data of the transport block initially transmitted by the sender (also called the initial transmission) is also referred to as the initial transmission data of the transport block, and the data of the retransmitted transport block is also referred to as the retransmission data of the transport block. In some examples, the initial transmission may also be called the new transmission.

[0091] 2. HARQ feedback delay

[0092] HARQ feedback latency refers to the time required from the sender transmitting a transport block to the receiver responding with an ACK or NACK. For example, HQRQ feedback latency can be 3 to 4 milliseconds.

[0093] 3. HARQ feedback based on CBG

[0094] For transmissions with high data transmission rates, a transport block can typically contain hundreds of code blocks (CBs). If only a few CBs are corrupted, retransmitting the entire transport block would result in low spectral efficiency.

[0095] To avoid unnecessary retransmissions of successfully decoded blocks (CBs), an efficient retransmission scheme is to introduce HARQ feedback for each CB. However, if the HARQ mechanism needs to locate a single erroneous CB, it will result in significant control signaling overhead. To achieve higher transmission efficiency and reduce control signaling overhead, the concept of code block groups (CBGs) was introduced in NR. A transport block can consist of one or more CBGs, and each CBG consists of one or more CBs. Thus, when the receiver performs HARQ feedback, it can use 1 bit of HARQ feedback for each CBG. Specifically, when all CBs within a CBG are correctly decoded, the 1 bit associated with that CBG is used for ACK feedback; otherwise, the 1 bit associated with that CBG is used for NACK feedback to indicate that the CBG needs to be retransmitted.

[0096] In this implementation, when retransmitting data from a transport block, only the CBG to which the erroneous CB belongs needs to be retransmitted, instead of the entire transport block, thus saving resources consumed by retransmission. The size of the CBG can be specified by radio resource controller (RRC) messages, and the CBG to which each CB belongs is determined during the initial transmission and remains unchanged.

[0097] 4. HARQ process

[0098] In HARQ technology, a stop-and-wait protocol can be used to transmit data. In this protocol, the sender transmits a block of data and then pauses to receive ACK or NACK acknowledgments. However, for the sender, pausing after each transmission to wait for acknowledgment from the receiver results in low throughput. Therefore, multiple parallel stop-and-wait processes can be used: while one HARQ process is waiting for acknowledgment, the sender can use another HARQ process to continue transmitting data. These HARQ processes together form a HARQ entity. Each terminal has its own HARQ entity.

[0099] Each HARQ process needs an independent HARQ buffer at the receiving end in order to merge the received data.

[0100] 5. New Data Indicator (NDI)

[0101] Each HARQ process corresponds to an NDI, which indicates whether the scheduled data is a new transmission or a retransmission. If the NDI value of the same HARQ process has changed compared to before (NDI toggled), it means that the data being transmitted is the initial transmission; otherwise (NDI not toggled), it means that the data being transmitted is a retransmission.

[0102] 6. Channel Rank

[0103] Channel rank refers to the maximum number of independent data streams (or transport streams) that a channel can support in a communication system. In multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, channel rank reflects the spatial dimension of the channel, that is, the number of different data streams the channel can transmit simultaneously. When the number of transport streams is less than or equal to 4, the protocol definition uses one codeword; when the number of transport streams is greater than 4, the protocol definition uses two codewords.

[0104] As described above regarding HARQ, after the sending end sends a transport block #1 to the receiving end, if the receiving end responds with a NACK for transport block #1, the sending end will then send a retransmitted version of transport block #1 to the receiving end so that the receiving end can determine transport block #1 based on the retransmitted data. If the receiving end responds with an ACK, the sending end can then send a new transport block (e.g., transport block #2) to the receiving end. However, analysis reveals that this data transmission method suffers from low transmission efficiency.

[0105] For example, as shown in Figure 2, data transmission begins in time slot 1. Assume the receiver fails to decode TB#1 (e.g., TB#1) sent by the sender in time slot 11, and the receiver determines to send a NACK. If the HARQ feedback delay is 4 milliseconds, the receiver will send a NACK in time slot 20. After receiving the NACK for TB#1, the sender retransmits the data of TB#1 in time slot 21. Understandably, when TB#1 is retransmitted in time slot 21, other pending data transmissions are delayed, resulting in low transmission efficiency. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 2, there is one downlink time slot between time slot 20 and the packet delay budget (PDB). TB#1 only has one retransmission opportunity left. Therefore, retransmitting the data of TB#1 in time slot 21 may also result in unreliable retransmission success.

[0106] In view of this, this application provides a communication method and a communication device.

[0107] The communication method provided in this application will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0108] The method is described below using the interaction between a first communication device and a second communication device as an example. In one example, the first communication device can be a terminal device, and the second communication device can be a network device. In another example, the first communication device can be a network device, and the second communication device can be a terminal device.

[0109] The terminal device may be a terminal, a communication module in the terminal, or a component in the terminal responsible for communication functions (such as circuits, chips (such as modem chips, also known as baseband chips, or system-on-chip (SoC) chips or system-in-package (SIP) chips containing modem cores), chip systems, or processors, etc.), and this application does not limit it in this regard.

[0110] The network device may be, for example, an access network device, a communication module in the access network device, or a component in the access network device responsible for communication functions (such as circuits, chips (such as modem chips, also known as baseband chips, or SoC chips or SIP chips containing modem cores, chip systems or processors, etc.), which are not limited in this application.

[0111] For a detailed description of the terminal and access network equipment, please refer to the relevant description in Figure 1 above. For the sake of brevity, it will not be repeated here.

[0112] Figure 3 is a schematic flowchart of the communication method 30 provided in this application. As shown in Figure 3, method 30 includes:

[0113] S310, the second communication device transmits first data on the first time-frequency resource; correspondingly, the first communication device receives the first data on the first time-frequency resource.

[0114] The second communication device can indicate to the first communication device the first time-frequency resource occupied by the first data, so that the first communication device knows that it is receiving the first data on the first time-frequency resource.

[0115] For example, the second communication device is a network device, and the first communication device is a terminal. Alternatively, the second communication device is a terminal, and the first communication device is a network device.

[0116] In this application, when the second communication device sends first data to the first communication device, the first data sent includes first retransmission data and first initial transmission data. The first retransmission data is the data of the retransmitted first data block, and the first initial transmission data is the data of the initially transmitted second data block. The initial transmission data can also be described as newly transmitted data. That is to say, the first data sent by the second communication device can be considered to include two parts: one part is the data of the retransmitted first data block, and the other part is the data of the initially transmitted / newly transmitted second data block.

[0117] For example, after receiving information 1 from the first communication device, the second communication device sends first data including first retransmission data to the first communication device, wherein information 1 indicates that the first communication device failed to decode the first data block initially transmitted by the second communication device. In this application, the data of the first data block initially transmitted by the second communication device is also referred to as the second initial transmission data.

[0118] Understandably, in one implementation, the first retransmitted data sent by the second communication device is the same as the second initial data. For example, when the first communication device sends information 1 to the second communication device, information 1 indicates that the decoding of the first data block failed. Therefore, when the second communication device retransmits the data of the first data block, the retransmitted first retransmitted data is the same as the second initial data. In another implementation, the first retransmitted data is different from the second initial data. For example, when the first communication device sends information 1 to the second communication device, information 1 indicates that the decoding of the first CBG in the first data block failed. Therefore, when the second communication device retransmits the data of the first data block, the retransmitted first retransmitted data may simply be the first CBG that failed to decode. Decoding failure can also be understood as reception failure or parsing failure.

[0119] For example, when the second communication device is an access network device, the access network device receives service data sent by the core network device that needs to be sent by the access network device to the terminal. This service data includes data from a first transport block and data from a second transport block. Understandably, the size of the first transport block and the size of the second transport block can be the same or different.

[0120] This application does not limit the specific granularity of the first data. For example, the granularity of the first data can be a transport block (TB). That is, the first data can be replaced by a first TB, which includes the data of the retransmitted first data block and the data of the initially transmitted second data block. Alternatively, the first data can also be replaced by a first data packet.

[0121] In this application, when the second communication device sends first data, the first data is transmitted through N transport streams. A transport stream can also be described as a data stream or a transport layer.

[0122] The transmission of the first data through N transport streams can also be referred to as the transmission of the first data through N transport streams, or the transmission of the first data mapped onto N transport streams.

[0123] Specifically, the first retransmitted data in the first data is transmitted through M of the N transport streams, and the first initial transmitted data in the first data is transmitted through the transport streams other than M of the N transport streams, where N is a positive integer greater than 1 and M is a positive integer less than N. In other words, the first initial transmitted data and the first retransmitted data are transmitted through different transport streams.

[0124] In one embodiment, when the second communication device maps the first retransmitted data onto M of the N transport streams, if M is less than or equal to 4, the first retransmitted data is mapped based on one codeword; if M is greater than 4, the first retransmitted data is mapped based on two codewords. Similarly, when the second communication device maps the first initial transmitted data onto the remaining NM transport streams, if NM is less than or equal to 4, the first initial transmitted data is mapped based on one codeword; if NM is greater than 4, the first initial transmitted data is mapped based on two codewords.

[0125] For example, as shown in Figure 4, the first initial transmission data includes d (0) (4i), d (0) (4i+1), d (0) (4i+2), d (0) (4i+3), ...; The first retransmission data includes d (1) (4i), d (1) (4i+1), d (1) (4i+2), d (1) (4i+3), ... As shown in Figure 4, d (0) (4i), d (0) (4i+1), d (0) (4i+2), d (0) (4i+3) becomes x after a codeword mapping. (0) (i), x (1) (i), x (2) (i), x (3) (i) corresponds to transmission on transport stream 0, transport stream 1, transport stream 2, and transport stream 3, respectively. d (1) (4i), d (1) (4i+1), d (1) (4i+2), d (1) (4i+3) becomes x after a codeword mapping. (4) (i), x (5) (i), x (6) (i), x(7) (i) corresponds to transmission on transport stream 4, transport stream 5, transport stream 6, and transport stream 7, respectively. That is, in this example, N equals 8, and 4 of these 8 transport streams are used to transmit the first retransmission data, while the other 4 transport streams are used to transmit the first initial transmission data.

[0126] Specifically, the second communication device can determine the aforementioned N transport streams based on the channel rank between the first and second communication devices. For example, N can be equal to 4.

[0127] Understandably, for the transport stream occupied by the first data block of the initial transmission (i.e., the second initial transmission data), in one scenario, the second initial transmission data is transmitted through the aforementioned N transport streams. In another scenario, the second initial transmission data is transmitted through a portion of the aforementioned N transport streams. For example, the second initial transmission data sent by the network device is included in the second data, which, in addition to the aforementioned second initial transmission data, also includes second retransmission data, which is the data of the retransmitted third data block. In this case, the second initial transmission data is transmitted through a portion of the N transport streams, and the second retransmission data is transmitted through another portion of the N transport streams.

[0128] S320, the first communication device determines the first data block based on the data transmitted in the M transport streams.

[0129] In this application, after receiving first data on a first time-frequency resource, the first communication device determines a first data block based on first retransmission data in the first data. Determining the first data block based on the first retransmission data includes: determining the first data block based on the first retransmission data and the second initial transmission data.

[0130] In practice, the second communication device may send first information and second information to the first communication device before sending the first data.

[0131] The first information is used to indicate the M transport streams out of N transport streams that are used to transmit the first retransmission data. This first information can also be called a retransmission occupancy stream indicator. In one implementation, the first information includes N bits, each corresponding to one of the N transport streams. Each bit indicates whether the corresponding transport stream is used to transmit the first retransmission data or the first initial transmission data. For example, if N equals 4, the first information can include 4 bits corresponding to the 4 transport streams. A bit of 0 indicates that the corresponding transport stream is used to transmit the first initial transmission data, and a bit of 1 indicates that the corresponding transport stream is used to transmit the first retransmission data; alternatively, a bit of 0 indicates that the corresponding transport stream is used to transmit the first retransmission data, and a bit of 1 indicates that the corresponding transport stream is used to transmit the first initial transmission data.

[0132] The second information is used to indicate the identifier of the first data block corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the identifier of the second data block corresponding to the first initial transmitted data. The identifiers of the first and second data blocks can also be described as the numbers of the first and second data blocks. The second information can also be referred to as processing number extension information, for example.

[0133] Correspondingly, after receiving the first information and the second information, the first communication device learns, based on the first information and the second information, which of the N transport streams the first retransmission data in the first data corresponds to the first data block and which of the N transport streams the first retransmission data occupies, as well as the second data block the first initial transmission data in the first data and which of the N transport streams the first initial transmission data occupies, and thus receives the first retransmission data and the first initial transmission data respectively.

[0134] In one implementation, when the first communication device receives the first retransmitted data and the first initial transmitted data respectively, it can partition and cache the received first retransmitted data and the first initial transmitted data. For example, the first communication device can assign a unique identifier (e.g., also called a partition identifier) to each partition to ensure that the positions of the first data block and the second data block in the cache can be addressed independently. Correspondingly, the first communication device directly stores the received first initial transmitted data, and then merges the received first retransmitted data with the data stored in the partition corresponding to the first data block in the cache to determine the first data block.

[0135] In one implementation, the second communication device may further send third information to itself, the third information indicating that the first data includes both initial transmission data and retransmission data. Alternatively, the third information can be understood as indicating that the first data is mixed data. For example, the third information may include 2 bits: when the 2 bits are of a first value, it indicates that the transmitted first data includes only initial transmission data; when the 2 bits are of a second value, it indicates that the transmitted first data includes only retransmission data; and when the 2 bits are of a third value, it indicates that the transmitted first data is mixed data including retransmission data.

[0136] In this application, when the second communication device transmits the first data, in one implementation, the second communication device uses the same MCS to transmit the first retransmitted data and the first initial transmitted data. In another implementation, the second communication device uses different MCS to transmit the first retransmitted data and the first initial transmitted data.

[0137] In one implementation, the second communication device can send fourth information to the first communication device. This fourth information indicates the modulation scheme (MCS) corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the MCS corresponding to the first initial transmitted data, thereby enabling the first communication device to know the modulation order and code rate corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the first initial transmitted data. For example, the fourth information includes 10 bits, with the first 5 bits indicating the MCS corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the last 5 bits indicating the MCS corresponding to the first initial transmitted data. Alternatively, the last 5 bits indicate the MCS corresponding to the first retransmitted data, and the first 5 bits indicate the MCS corresponding to the first initial transmitted data.

[0138] In this application, the second communication device may also send fifth information to the first communication device, the fifth information being used to indicate the RV corresponding to the first retransmission data and the RV corresponding to the first initial transmission data.

[0139] In one scenario, the second communication device is an access network device, the first communication device is a terminal, and one or more of the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth information can be carried in downlink control information (DCI).

[0140] In this application, after receiving the first data, the first communication device can send a sixth message to the second communication device, the sixth message including a first confirmation message and a second confirmation message.

[0141] In one implementation, a first confirmation message indicates whether the first data block was successfully received, and a second confirmation message indicates whether the second data block was successfully received. Successful reception can also be described as successful decoding / demodulation / parsing, etc. Thus, the second communication device can determine whether the first and second data blocks were successfully transmitted based on the received sixth message, thereby determining whether to send a new data block or retransmit the data from the first and / or second data blocks. For example, in this implementation, the sixth message may include 2 bits, where 1 bit corresponds to the first confirmation message and the other bit corresponds to the second confirmation message.

[0142] In another implementation, the first confirmation information is used to indicate whether each CBG included in the first data block has been successfully received, and the second confirmation information is used to indicate whether each CBG included in the second data block has been successfully received. Thus, the second communication device can determine, based on the received first confirmation information, which CBGs in the first data block were successfully transmitted and which were not, and based on the received second confirmation information, which CBGs in the second data block were successfully transmitted and which were not, thereby determining the data that needs to be sent to the first communication device next.

[0143] Based on method 30, since the second data block is initially transmitted simultaneously with the retransmission of the first data block, the latency of the second communication device sending the second data block can be reduced, thereby improving the data transmission efficiency between the first and second communication devices. Furthermore, in this technical solution, the retransmitted first data block and the initially transmitted second data block occupy the same time-frequency resources, thus also improving the utilization rate of time-frequency resources.

[0144] The following describes one implementation method for the second communication device to determine M of the N transport streams used for transmitting the first retransmission data.

[0145] One implementation of the second communication device determining M transport streams includes: after the first communication device receives the data of the first data block initially transmitted by the second communication device (i.e., the second initial transmission data), it calculates the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of the demodulated signal corresponding to each transport stream used to transmit the second initial transmission data. That is, the first communication device calculates the SINR corresponding to each transport stream when demodulating the signal in each transport stream used to transmit the second initial transmission data; the first communication device sends a seventh message to the second communication device, the seventh message indicating the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to each transport stream used to transmit the second initial transmission data; after receiving the seventh message, the second communication device determines M transport streams from N transport streams used to transmit the first retransmission data based on the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to each transport stream.

[0146] The first retransmission data and the first initial transmission data occupy the same time-frequency resources and correspond to different transmission streams in the spatial domain (i.e., the first initial transmission data and the first retransmission data can also be considered to be orthogonal in the spatial domain). The signal y received by the first communication device on the first time-frequency resources can be expressed as:

[0147] Where H represents the channel matrix, V represents the precoding matrix, and x represents the first retransmission data. new Let G represent the first initial transmission data, G be the matrix used to map the first retransmission data, and P be the matrix used to map the first initial transmission data. H Let n denote the conjugate transpose of G, and n1 denote noise.

[0148] Because the first initial transmission data and the first retransmission data are orthogonal in the spatial domain, the received first retransmission data y R It can also be represented as: y R =Λ R Gx+n2

[0149] Furthermore, the received first retransmission data and the received second initial transmission data are combined, and the combined data can be represented as:

[0150] Among them, y F This indicates the second initial transmission data received, Λ F To receive the second initial transmission data y F The singular value matrix corresponding to time, Λ R To receive the first retransmission data y R The first M rows and M columns of the singular value matrix obtained by performing singular value decomposition on the channel matrix H. Furthermore, also: B = (AA) T ) -1 ;

[0151] Then, the SINR increase of the i-th transport stream after adding the first retransmission data is ΔSINR. i This can be represented as: ΔSINR i =B ii / Λ F,ii

[0152] B ii Let Λ represent the value in the i-th row and i-th column of matrix B. F,ii Represents Λ F The value of the i-th row and i-th column.

[0153] Furthermore, by optimizing G, that is, optimizing the transmission flow occupied by the first retransmission data and the first initial transmission data, the first retransmission data can be retransmitted successfully in one attempt with the least amount of transmission flow: min||G|| 2 stSINR eff (SINR i +ΔSINR i SINR thr (MCS)

[0154] in, Indicates the effective SINR of demodulation, where I represents the total number of transport streams occupied by the second initial transmission data and the first retransmission data; SINR i SINR represents the SINR corresponding to the demodulation of the signal in the i-th transport stream used for transmitting the second initial data. thr (MCS) represents the SINR value that achieves the target block error rate (BLER) under the current MCS.

[0155] For example, N equals 4. As shown in Figure 5, when the second communication device initially transmits the first data block, it uses 4 streams to transmit the data of the first data block (i.e., the second initial transmission data). Afterwards, the first communication device sends a NACK to the second communication device, indicating that the first data block was not successfully decoded, and also indicates the SINR of the demodulation signals corresponding to the 4 transmission streams used to transmit the second initial transmission data. Correspondingly, the second communication device determines that the data of the first data block needs to be retransmitted based on the NACK sent by the first communication device, and determines that the first retransmission data is transmitted based on the SINR of the demodulation signals corresponding to the 4 transmission streams indicated by the first communication device. The remaining 3 streams are used to transmit new data (i.e., the first initial transmission data).

[0156] As an example, when the second communication device transmits the second initial data through four transport streams, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the first demodulated transport stream is approximately 20 dB, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the second demodulated transport stream is approximately 20 dB, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the third demodulated transport stream is approximately 10 dB, and the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the fourth demodulated transport stream is approximately 10 dB. Correspondingly, the effective SINR is approximately 12.29 dB.

[0157] When the second communication device transmits the first retransmission data based on the above four streams, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the first transport stream demodulated by the second communication device is approximately 23dB, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the second transport stream demodulated is approximately 23dB, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the third transport stream demodulated is approximately 13dB, and the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the fourth transport stream demodulated is approximately 13dB. Correspondingly, the effective SINR is approximately 14.30dB.

[0158] When the second communication device transmits the first retransmission data based on one of the four transmission streams mentioned above, and uses the remaining three transmission streams to transmit the first initial transmission data, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the first transmission stream demodulated by the second communication device is approximately 20dB, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the second transmission stream is approximately 20dB, the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the third transmission stream is approximately 11.4dB, and the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to the fourth transmission stream is approximately 14.4dB. Correspondingly, the effective SINR is approximately 14.04dB.

[0159] Below, for ease of understanding, taking the second communication device as an access network device and the first communication device as a terminal as an example, the communication method proposed in this application will be further described. Specifically, the communication method includes:

[0160] Step 1: The access network device selects a suitable MCS based on the current channel state information (CSI) and determines the precoding matrix.

[0161] Step 2: The access network device performs initial transmission of the first data block based on the determined MCS and precoding matrix.

[0162] Step 3: The terminal receives the data of the first data block of the initial transmission (which can be considered as the second initial transmission data mentioned above) and calculates the SINR of the demodulated signal corresponding to each transport stream used to transmit the second initial transmission data.

[0163] Step 4: The terminal sends feedback to the network device to indicate whether the second initial data transmission was successfully received, and reports the SINR of the demodulation signals corresponding to each transport stream used to transmit the second initial data transmission.

[0164] Step 5: If the second initial transmission data is not successfully received, the access network device determines the transmission stream used to transmit the first retransmission data and the transmission stream used to transmit the first initial transmission data among the N transmission streams based on the SINR of the demodulation signals corresponding to each transmission stream used to transmit the second initial transmission data reported by the terminal. Then, the first retransmission data and the first initial transmission data are mapped to the corresponding transmission streams and sent, and the device indicates the information related to the first retransmission data and the first initial transmission data to the terminal through DCI.

[0165] Step 6: The access network device sends the first retransmission data and the first initial transmission data based on the same time-frequency resource.

[0166] Step 7: The terminal receives the first data, demodulates and verifies it, and then sends back the sixth information.

[0167] The relevant description of the sixth information can be found in the description in the embodiment of Figure 5, and will not be repeated here.

[0168] The communication method provided in this application has been described above with reference to the accompanying drawings. The communication device provided in this application will now be described.

[0169] Figure 6 is a structural schematic diagram of the communication device provided in an embodiment of this application. Specifically, as shown in Figure 6, the device 600 includes: a transceiver module 601 and a processing module 602.

[0170] For example, in the first embodiment, the transceiver module 601 is configured to: receive first data on a first time-frequency resource, the first data being transmitted through N transport streams, the first data including first retransmission data and first initial transmission data, the first retransmission data being the data of a retransmitted first data block, the first initial transmission data being the data of an initially transmitted second data block, the first retransmission data being transmitted through M of the N transport streams, and the first initial transmission data being transmitted through transport streams other than M of the N transport streams, where N is a positive integer greater than 1 and M is a positive integer less than N; the processing module 602 is configured to: obtain a first data block based on the data transmitted in the M transport streams.

[0171] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: receive first information and second information, wherein the first information is used to indicate M of the N transport streams used to transmit the first retransmission data, and the second information is used to indicate the identifier of the first data block corresponding to the first retransmission data and the identifier of the second data block corresponding to the first initial transmission data.

[0172] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: receive third information, the third information being used to indicate that the first data is data including initial transmission data and retransmission data.

[0173] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: receive fourth information, the fourth information being used to indicate the MCS corresponding to the first retransmitted data and the MCS corresponding to the first initial transmitted data.

[0174] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: receive fifth information, the fifth information being used to indicate the RV corresponding to the first retransmission data and the RV corresponding to the first initial transmission data.

[0175] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: send a sixth message, the sixth message including a first confirmation message and a second confirmation message, the first confirmation message indicating whether the first data block was successfully received, and the second confirmation message indicating whether the second data block was successfully received; or, the first confirmation message indicating whether each CBG included in the first data block was successfully received, and the second confirmation message indicating whether each CBG included in the second data block was successfully received.

[0176] For example, processing module 602 is used to determine whether the first data block was successfully received and whether the second data block was successfully received.

[0177] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: before receiving the first data on the first time-frequency resource, send a seventh message, the seventh message indicating the SINR of the demodulation signal corresponding to each transport stream used to transmit the second initial transmission data, the second initial transmission data being the data of the first data block of the initial transmission; wherein, the SINR of the demodulation signal corresponding to each transport stream is used to determine the M transport streams among the N transport streams used to transmit the first retransmission data.

[0178] For example, in the second embodiment, the transceiver module 601 is used to: transmit first data on a first time-frequency resource, the first data being transmitted through N transport streams, the first data including first retransmission data and first initial transmission data, the first retransmission data being the data of the retransmitted first data block, the first initial transmission data being the data of the initially transmitted second data block, the first retransmission data being transmitted through M of the N transport streams, and the first initial transmission data being transmitted through the transport streams other than the M transport streams among the N transport streams, where N is a positive integer greater than 1 and M is a positive integer less than N.

[0179] In one possible implementation, the transceiver module 601 is further configured to: send first information and second information, wherein the first information is used to indicate M of the N transport streams used to transmit the first retransmission data, and the second information is used to indicate the identifier of the first data block corresponding to the first retransmission data and the identifier of the second data block corresponding to the first initial transmission data.
