Abstract

Disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are a communication method, a communication apparatus and a storage medium, which are used for solving the problem of delay drift of channels measured in different time slots, and splicing channels on different frequency-domain resources together so as to obtain full-band frequency-domain basis information. In the embodiments of the present application, first information is sent, such that a first apparatus can process channel data under a plurality of frequency domain resources on the basis of the first information, so as to determine first channel data, thereby reducing feedback overheads of the first apparatus. In addition, as the capability of a terminal device is limited, the terminal device can activate only one BWP at one moment, so that the terminal device needs to measure channels of different BWPs at a plurality of consecutive moments. However, there is a certain delay difference between channels measured at different moments; therefore, the terminal device needs to splice the channels together after delay calibration, so as to obtain a full-band frequency-domain covariance matrix.

Description

Communication methods, communication devices and storage media

[0001] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. CN202510496371.1, filed on April 18, 2025, entitled "Communication Method, Communication Device and Storage Medium", the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field

[0002] This application relates to the field of wireless communication technology, and in particular to a communication method, communication device, and storage medium. Background Technology

[0003] With the development of communication systems, system bandwidth has increased, the number of terminal device antennas has multiplied, and network load has become heavier. The contradiction between the surge in wireless channel dimensions and the limited pilot measurement resources has become increasingly severe, leading to significant challenges in high-precision wireless channel measurement. Therefore, accurate measurement of wireless channels is crucial for the design, analysis, and optimization of wireless communication networks.

[0004] To address the limited pilot measurement resources in wireless communication systems, channel maps can be used to achieve low-overhead channel measurements. For example, channel maps can provide candidate beam sets for specific locations, reducing beam scanning overhead in actual communication. Channel maps can also provide channel covariance matrices for specific locations, and prior channel covariance matrix information can be used to further reduce pilot overhead.

[0005] When a terminal device experiences poor signal quality in a certain frequency band, it needs to select another frequency band, thus requiring the construction of a full-band frequency domain substrate. However, due to factors such as clock drift, the channel measured by the terminal device in different time slots will experience a certain degree of time delay drift, thereby affecting performance. Summary of the Invention

[0006] This application provides a communication method, communication device, and storage medium to solve the time delay drift problem of measurement channels in different time slots, and to stitch together channels on different frequency domain resources to obtain frequency domain basis information of the complete frequency band.

[0007] This application provides a communication method, optionally executed by a first device. The first device can be a terminal device, a component or apparatus applied to the terminal device (e.g., a processor, circuit, chip, or chip system), or a logic module or software capable of implementing all or part of the terminal device's functions. In this method, the first device receives first information from a second device. The first information is used to indicate the determination of first channel data, which includes channel data under multiple frequency domain resources. The first device determines the first channel data based on the first information and a first pilot signal. The first pilot signal is a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS).

[0008] Based on the first aspect of this application, by sending first information, the first device can process channel data under multiple frequency domain resources according to the first information to determine the first channel data, thereby reducing the feedback overhead of the first device. In other words, the terminal device does not need to report every time a bandwidth part (BWP) is measured, but can wait until all BWP measurements are completed and the first channel data is obtained before reporting.

[0009] In some possible implementations, the first device may also send second information to the second device, the second information being used to indicate the first channel data.

[0010] In this embodiment, the first device sends second information, enabling the second device to acquire first channel data, i.e., channel data under multiple frequency domain resources, in a single interaction, thereby reducing the feedback overhead of the first device.

[0011] In some possible implementations, the second information includes the frequency domain covariance matrix of the first frequency domain resource, which includes multiple frequency domain resources.

[0012] In some possible implementations, the second information includes the power delay profile (PDP) of the first channel data, which is calculated based on the frequency domain covariance matrix of the first frequency domain resources, which include multiple frequency domain resources.

[0013] In this embodiment, by performing a Fourier transform on the frequency domain covariance matrix to obtain the PDP and then sending the PDP, the feedback overhead of the first device can be reduced.

[0014] In some possible implementations, the second information includes the truncated PDP value.

[0015] In this embodiment, the first device sends a truncated PDP to the second device, so that the second device can obtain the frequency domain covariance matrix of the first frequency domain resource based on the truncated PDP. Therefore, the first device does not need to report all PDPs, reducing the feedback overhead of the first device.

[0016] In some possible implementations, the second information includes indication information for indicating that the first channel data includes channel data under multiple frequency domain resources.

[0017] In this embodiment, the second information can be used to indicate that the first channel data reported by the first device is full-band channel data, or the second information can be used to indicate that the first channel data includes channel data under multiple frequency domain resources.

[0018] In some possible implementations, the first channel data is used to construct the frequency domain basis of a first frequency domain resource, which includes multiple frequency domain resources.

[0019] Due to the limited capabilities of the terminal equipment, only one BWP can be activated at any given time. Therefore, the terminal equipment needs to measure the channel of different BWPs at multiple consecutive times. Since there is a certain time delay difference between the channel measurements at different times, the terminal equipment needs to perform time delay calibration and then stitch them together to obtain the frequency domain covariance matrix of the entire frequency band.

[0020] A second aspect of this application provides a communication method. Optionally, the execution subject of this method may be a second device, which may be a network device, a component or device applied to the network device (e.g., a processor, circuit, chip, or chip system), or a logic module or software capable of implementing all or part of the functions of the network device (e.g., a central unit (CU), a distributed unit (DU), or a radio unit (RU)). In this method, the second device sends first information to a first device, the first information being used to indicate the determination of first channel data, the first channel data including channel data under multiple frequency domain resources. The second device sends a first pilot signal to the first device, the first pilot signal being used to determine the first channel data. The first pilot signal is CSI-RS.

[0021] In some possible implementations, the second device may also receive second information, which is used to indicate the first channel data.

[0022] In some possible implementations, the second information includes the frequency domain covariance matrix of the first frequency domain resource, which includes multiple frequency domain resources.

[0023] In some possible implementations, the second information includes the time-delay power spectrum (PDP) of the first channel data, which is calculated based on the frequency domain covariance matrix of the first frequency domain resources, which include multiple frequency domain resources.

[0024] In some possible implementations, the second information includes the truncated PDP value.

[0025] In some possible implementations, the second information includes indication information for indicating that the first channel data includes channel data under multiple frequency domain resources.

[0026] In some possible implementations, the first channel data is used to construct the frequency domain basis of a first frequency domain resource, which includes multiple frequency domain resources.

[0027] A third aspect of this application provides a communication device, which may be the first device described above. The communication device includes modules or units for performing the methods described in the first aspect and any possible implementation thereof.

[0028] A fourth aspect of this application provides a communication device, which may be the second device described above. The communication device includes modules or units for performing the methods described in the second aspect and any possible implementation thereof.

[0029] A fifth aspect of this application provides a communication device, which may be a first device or a second device, or a component applied to the first device or the second device (e.g., a processor, circuit, chip, or chip system), or a logic module or software (e.g., CU, DU, or RU) capable of implementing all or part of the functions of the first device or the second device. The communication device includes:

[0030] A processor for executing a program that causes the communication device to perform the method as described in the first or second aspect and any possible implementation thereof.

[0031] Optionally, the communication device further includes a memory, and the processor is coupled to the memory; the memory is used to store programs.

[0032] The sixth aspect of this application provides a chip or chip system including at least one processor and a communication interface, the communication interface and at least one processor being interconnected via a line, the at least one processor being used to run computer programs or instructions to perform the communication method described in any of the possible implementations of the first or second aspect.

[0033] The communication interface in the chip can be an input / output interface, pins, or circuits.

[0034] In one possible implementation, the chip or chip system described above in this application further includes at least one memory storing instructions. The memory can be an internal storage unit of the chip, such as a register or cache, or it can be a storage unit of the chip itself, such as a read-only memory or random access memory.

[0035] The seventh aspect of this application provides a communication system, including communication means for performing the first aspect and any possible implementation thereof, and communication means for performing the second aspect and any possible implementation thereof.

[0036] An eighth aspect of this application provides a computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed on a computer, cause the computer to perform the method described in the first aspect above, or cause the computer to perform the method described in the second aspect above.

[0037] The ninth aspect of this application provides a computer program product containing instructions that, when run on a computer, cause the computer to perform the method described in the first aspect above, or cause the computer to perform the method described in the second aspect above. [0048] First, a brief description of the network architecture on which the communication method in the embodiments of this application is based:

[0049] Please refer to Figure 1, which is a possible, non-limiting system schematic diagram. As shown in Figure 1, the communication system 10 includes a radio access network (RAN) 100, a core network (CN) 200, and an Internet 300. RAN 100 includes at least one RAN node (110a and 110b in Figure 1, collectively referred to as 110) and at least one terminal (120a-120j in Figure 1, collectively referred to as 120). RAN 100 may also include other RAN nodes, such as wireless relay devices and / or wireless backhaul devices (not shown in Figure 1). Terminal 120 is wirelessly connected to RAN node 110. RAN node 110 is wirelessly or wired connected to core network 200. The core network equipment in core network 200 and RAN node 110 in RAN 100 can be different physical devices, or they can be the same physical device integrating core network logical functions and radio access network logical functions.

[0050] RAN 100 can be a cellular system related to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), such as a 4G, 5G, or future mobile communication system. RAN 100 can also be an open-radio access network (ORAN), a cloud-radio access network (CRAN), or a Wi-Fi system. RAN 100 can also be a communication system that integrates two or more of the above systems.

[0051] RAN node 110, sometimes also referred to as access network equipment, RAN entity, or access node, constitutes part of the communication system and is used to help terminals achieve wireless access. Multiple RAN nodes 110 in communication system 10 can be of the same type or different types. In some scenarios, the roles of RAN node 110 and terminal 120 are relative. For example, network element 120i in Figure 1 can be a helicopter or drone, which can be configured as a mobile base station. For terminals 120j accessing RAN 100 through network element 120i, network element 120i is a base station; but for base station 110a, network element 120i is a terminal. RAN node 110 and terminal 120 are sometimes both referred to as communication devices. For example, network elements 110a and 110b in Figure 1 can be understood as communication devices with base station functions, and network elements 120a-120j can be understood as communication devices with terminal functions.

[0052] In one possible scenario, access network equipment includes, but is not limited to: evolved Node B (eNodeB), radio network controller (RNC), Node B (NB), base station (BS), base station controller (BSC), base transceiver station (BTS), home base station (e.g., home evolved NodeB, or home Node B, HNB), baseband unit (BBU), access point (AP) in a Wi-Fi system, macro base station, micro base station, wireless relay node, donor node, radio controller in a CRAN scenario, wireless backhaul node, transmission point (TP), or transmission and reception point (TRP), etc., and can also be access network equipment in a 5G mobile communication system. For example, a next-generation NodeB (gNB), TRP, or TP in a new radio (NR) system; or one or a group of antenna panels (including multiple antenna panels) of a base station in a 5G mobile communication system; or, access network equipment can also be network nodes constituting a gNB or transmission point. Examples include centralized units (CU), distributed units (DU), centralized unit control planes (CU-CP), centralized unit user planes (CU-UP), or radio units (RU), etc. CUs and DUs can be separate or included in the same network element, such as a BBU. RUs can be included in radio equipment or radio units, such as in a remote radio unit (RRU), an active antenna unit (AAU), or a remote radio head (RRH). Alternatively, access network equipment can also be servers, wearable devices, vehicles, or in-vehicle equipment, etc. For example, the access network equipment in V2X technology can be a roadside unit (RSU).It should be understood that the aforementioned TRP can be a device or module located on the network side of the aforementioned communication system and possessing corresponding communication functions. The TRP typically contains a communication module, circuit, or chip that performs the corresponding communication functions. The TRP can also be configured with program instructions for the corresponding communication functions.

[0053] It should be noted that CU (or CU-CP and CU-UP), DU, or RU may have different names in different systems, but those skilled in the art will understand their meaning. For example, in an open radio access network (O-RAN) system, CU can also be called an open centralized unit (O-CU) or an open CU, DU can also be called an open-distributed unit (O-DU), CU-CP can also be called an open-centralized unit control plane (O-CU-CP), CU-UP can also be called an open-centralized unit user plane (O-CU-UP), and RU can also be called an open radio unit (O-RU). This application does not limit the specific names. Any of the units CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU, and RU in this application can be implemented through software modules, hardware modules, or a combination of software and hardware modules.

[0054] Figure 2 shows an example diagram of an O-RAN system. The access network equipment communicates with the CN via a backhaul link and with the terminal equipment (e.g., UE) via an air interface.

[0055] Specifically, the BBU in the access network equipment communicates with the CN via a backhaul link, and the RU in the access network equipment communicates with at least one UE via an air interface. The BBU communicates with at least one RU via a fronthaul link. The BBU and RU may or may not be co-located.

[0056] The BBU includes at least one CU and at least one DU, which can communicate via at least one midhaul link.

[0057] Optionally, for network elements in the ORAN system, each network element can implement the protocol layer functions shown in Table 1 below.

[0058] Table 1

[0059] It should be noted that in the ORAN system, the access network equipment in this application can be one or more network elements listed in Table 1 above.

[0060] The architecture of the CU and DU of the access network equipment is described below. The access network equipment includes at least one CU and at least one DU. Optionally, the access network equipment may also include at least one RU.

[0061] The following description uses an access network device consisting of one CU and one DU as an example. The CU has some core network functions and can include CU-CP and CU-UP. The CU and DU can be configured according to the protocol layer functions of the wireless network they implement. For example, the CU may be configured to implement the functions of the Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer and above (e.g., RRC and / or SDAP layers). The DU may be configured to implement the functions of protocol layers below the PDCP layer (e.g., RLC, MAC, and / or physical (PHY) layers). Alternatively, the CU may be configured to implement the functions of protocol layers above the PDCP layer (e.g., RRC and / or SDAP layers), and the DU may be configured to implement the functions of protocol layers below the PDCP layer (e.g., RLC, MAC, and / or PHY layers).

[0062] When a CU includes CU-CP and CU-UP, CU-CP is used to implement the control plane functions of the CU, and CU-UP is used to implement the user plane functions of the CU. For example, when a CU is configured to implement the functions of the PDCP layer, RRC layer, and SDAP layer, CU-CP is used to implement the RRC layer functions and the control plane functions of the PDCP layer, and CU-UP is used to implement the SDAP layer functions and the user plane functions of the PDCP layer.

[0063] The CU-CP can interact with network elements in the core network used to implement control plane functions. These network elements can be access and mobility management functions (AMFs). AMFs are responsible for mobility management in the mobile network, such as terminal device location updates, terminal device registration with the network, and terminal device handover.

[0064] CU-UP can interact with network elements in the core network used to implement user plane functions. These network elements, such as the user plane function (UPF) in a 5G system, are responsible for forwarding and receiving data in terminal devices.

[0065] The above CU and DU configurations are merely examples; the functions of the CU and DU can be configured as needed. For instance, the CU or DU can be configured to have more protocol layer functions, or only some protocol layer processing functions. For example, some RLC layer functions and protocol layer functions above the RLC layer can be placed in the CU, while the remaining RLC layer functions and protocol layer functions below the RLC layer can be placed in the DU. Furthermore, the functions of the CU or DU can be divided according to service type or other system requirements. For example, based on latency, functions that require low latency can be placed in the DU, while functions that do not require low latency can be placed in the CU.

[0066] DU and RU can cooperate to implement the functions of the PHY layer. A DU can be connected to one or more RUs. The functions of DU and RU can be configured in various ways depending on the design. For example, a DU can be configured to implement baseband functions, and an RU can be configured to implement mid-RF functions. Another example is that a DU can be configured to implement higher-level functions in the PHY layer, and an RU can be configured to implement lower-level functions in the PHY layer, or to implement both lower-level and RF functions. Higher-level functions in the physical layer can include a portion of the physical layer's functions that are closer to the MAC layer, while lower-level functions in the physical layer can include another portion of the physical layer's functions that are closer to the mid-RF side.

[0067] It should be noted that the access network equipment can be a device or apparatus with a chip, or a device or apparatus with integrated circuits, or a chip, chip system, module, or control unit in the aforementioned device or apparatus; this application does not impose any specific limitation. It should also be noted that in this application, the term "access network equipment" can refer to the access network equipment itself, or to the chip, functional module, or integrated circuit within the access network equipment that performs the method provided in this application; this application does not impose any specific limitation.

[0068] A terminal can be a device or module that accesses the aforementioned communication system and has corresponding communication functions. A terminal can also be called a terminal device, user equipment (UE), mobile station, mobile terminal, etc. Terminals can be widely used in various scenarios, such as device-to-device (D2D), vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, machine-type communication (MTC), Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality, augmented reality, industrial control, autonomous driving, telemedicine, smart grids, smart homes, smart offices, smart wearables, intelligent transportation, smart cities, etc. Terminals can be mobile phones, tablets, computers with wireless transceiver capabilities, wearable devices, vehicles, drones, helicopters, airplanes, ships, robots, robotic arms, smart home devices, transportation vehicles with wireless communication capabilities, communication modules, etc. The embodiments of this application do not limit the device form of the terminal. Terminals typically contain communication modules, circuits, or chips that perform corresponding communication functions. Terminals can also be configured with program instructions for performing corresponding communication functions.

[0069] Furthermore, the embodiments of this application can also be applied to other future communication technologies. The network architecture and service scenarios described in this application are for the purpose of more clearly illustrating the technical solutions of this application, and do not constitute a limitation on the technical solutions provided in this application. As those skilled in the art will understand, with the evolution of network architecture and the emergence of new service scenarios, the technical solutions provided in this application are also applicable to similar technical problems.

[0070] The following is a brief introduction to the concepts that may be involved in this application.

[0071] 1) Channel map:

[0072] A channel map can be defined as a database used to store location-based channel features, including the channel statistical covariance matrix, frequency domain basis, spatial domain basis, angular spectrum, time delay spectrum, path loss, etc. As shown in Figure 3, a channel map can divide physical cells into two-dimensional grid-level components, with each grid storing several channel features in the form of a matrix, vector, or scalar. The frequency domain basis is the eigenvector obtained by eigenvalue decomposition of the channel frequency domain covariance matrix.

[0073] 2) BWP:

[0074] BWP (Bandwidth Management) is a core technology for dynamic bandwidth management in 5G NR. It balances terminal power consumption, resource efficiency, and diverse service requirements by flexibly allocating carrier bandwidth, adapting parameter sets, and employing intelligent handover mechanisms. A BWP is a continuous subset of the entire carrier bandwidth, composed of physical resource blocks. Each BWP can be independently configured with parameters such as subcarrier spacing, cyclic prefix, and bandwidth to adapt to different service needs. Introducing BWP can reduce power consumption, preventing terminal devices from continuously operating at full bandwidth and reducing energy consumption caused by high sampling rates; it can support diverse terminals, allowing terminal devices with different capabilities (such as low-bandwidth devices) to coexist on large carriers; and it can adapt to service requirements by dynamically adjusting bandwidth, for example, using high bandwidth for high-speed data transmission and low bandwidth for low-power scenarios.

[0075] 3) Digital channel twin technology:

[0076] 5G communication systems offer extremely high spectral efficiency, extremely low communication latency, extremely high connection density, and extremely low power consumption; however, 5G communication places higher demands on system capacity and spectral efficiency. As the technology that unlocks the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G communication urgently needs to improve the depth of information interaction to meet the needs of future deep wireless communication networks. Future communication networks will further enhance information interaction capabilities, meeting the needs of deeper mobile internet, thereby continuously expanding the depth and breadth of information interaction, ultimately achieving true IoT. Future communication networks will significantly expand the breadth and depth of communication coverage, deeply integrating with deep-sea ocean communication, aviation communication, and satellite communication on the basis of traditional cellular communication.

[0077] In the development of future communication systems, digital twins are an important technology for depicting, simulating, optimizing, and visualizing the physical world in a virtual world. As shown in Figure 4, the physical world provides sensory data for constructing the virtual world; the virtual world provides simulation data to guide system design and algorithm optimization in the physical world.

[0078] The physical channel is the foundation of the digital twin model. Accurate perception and understanding of the physical channel are prerequisites for establishing a digital twin channel. In the physical channel, environmental electronic maps (including terrain, building distribution, river distribution, vegetation distribution, material electromagnetic parameters, etc.) are physical entities. The digital twin channel model describes the interaction and coupling relationships of these physical entities, thereby analyzing and predicting changes in the wireless propagation channel. The virtual channel is a true, objective, and complete mapping of physical information in digital space, serving as the carrier of digital twin channel data. The virtual channel includes geometric models, physical models, behavioral models, and rule models. The geometric model describes the physical entities involved in the physical channel, such as the three-dimensional model of the geometric parameters (size, location, etc.) of terrain and features, achieving good spatiotemporal consistency with the physical entities. The physical model, based on the geometric model, describes the physical attributes and characteristics of the physical channel. Digital simulation tools are used to simulate and analyze the structure and electromagnetic fields in the wireless channel, achieving a dynamic approximate simulation of the channel. Behavioral models characterize the changes in physical channels at different granularities caused by external environmental disturbances, such as the evolution of channel models that vary with space and the changes in channels that progress over time.

[0079] In practical communication, the application of digital twin channel technology can more effectively grasp the entire life cycle of communication transmission; more accurately feed back communication performance to the design end; and reduce end-to-end feedback overhead and latency.

[0080] 4) Channel map-assisted communication technology:

[0081] With the development of future network communication systems, the increasing system bandwidth, the proliferation of terminal antennas, and the heavier network load have exacerbated the contradiction between the surge in wireless channel dimensions and the limited resources available for pilot measurement, posing a significant challenge to high-precision wireless channel measurement. Accurate wireless channel measurement is the cornerstone of mobile communication network research and is crucial for the design, analysis, and optimization of wireless communication networks. Traditional pilot-symbol-based wireless channel measurement methods are insufficient to meet the demands of next-generation communication technologies, making the search for new channel measurement methods a current research hotspot.

[0082] To address the issue of limited pilot measurement resources in wireless communication systems, channel maps can be used to achieve low pilot overhead channel measurements. For example, channel maps can provide candidate beam sets for specific locations, reducing beam scanning overhead in actual communication; channel maps can also provide channel covariance matrices for specific locations, using prior channel covariance matrix information to help reduce sounding reference signal (SRS) pilot overhead.

[0083] Terminal-assisted map reconstruction is triggered periodically. Each time a BWP is measured, the terminal device calculates a frequency-domain covariance matrix and reports it to the network device. Specifically, the network device periodically sends CSI-RS. The terminal device estimates the CSI-RS channel, calculates the frequency-domain covariance matrix, and reports it to the network device.

[0084] As shown in Figure 5, due to the limited capabilities of the terminal device, only one BWP can be activated at a time. When the terminal device activates different BWPs at different times, the measured channel exhibits time delay drift due to clock drift and other factors. When the network device receives frequency domain covariance matrices from multiple different BWPs, it cannot calibrate the time delay drift of each BWP. Furthermore, after receiving multiple frequency domain covariance matrices from different BWPs, the network device cannot merge them to obtain a full-band covariance matrix. Moreover, the terminal device reports the frequency domain covariance matrix every time it measures a BWP, resulting in significant reporting overhead.

[0085] Based on this, embodiments of this application provide a communication method, a communication device, and a storage medium. Please refer to Figure 6, which is a schematic diagram of the communication method provided in this application embodiment. The method shown in Figure 6 is executed interactively by a first device and a second device. The first device can be a terminal device, or a component or device applied to a terminal device (e.g., a processor, circuit, chip, or chip system), or a logic module or software capable of implementing all or part of the terminal device's functions. The second device can be a network device, or a component or device applied to a network device (e.g., a processor, circuit, chip, or chip system), or a logic module or software capable of implementing all or part of the network device's functions (e.g., CU, DU, or RU). The method includes:

[0086] 601. The second device sends first information to the first device. Correspondingly, the first device receives the first information from the second device.

[0087] The first information is used to instruct the first device to determine the first channel data, which includes channel data under multiple frequency domain resources. Specifically, channel data refers to signal information transmitted through a communication channel, reflecting the physical medium characteristics, noise, interference, and other effects experienced by the signal during transmission.

[0088] In this embodiment, the resources include two dimensions: time-domain resources and / or frequency-domain resources. The unit of time-domain resources is a time-domain unit, and the unit of frequency-domain resources is a frequency-domain unit.

[0089] Time-domain units can be symbols, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, slots, mini-slots, partial slots, sub-frames, frames, radio frames, etc.

[0090] Frequency domain units can be resource elements (REs), resource blocks (RBs), RB sets, channels, subchannels, control channel elements (CCEs), interlaces, combs, resource pools, bandwidth parts (BWPs), carriers, bands, etc.

[0091] For example, channel data across multiple frequency domain resources can be understood as channel data across multiple different frequency bands. In this case, the first channel data is full-band channel data. Full-band refers to the entire frequency range available in a communication system, typically used to describe the maximum spectrum resources that a device or system can cover or utilize. Full-band refers to a continuous spectrum interval from the lowest to the highest frequency. For example, in the radio spectrum, full-band may cover the entire range from 3 kHz (long wave) to 300 GHz (millimeter wave).

[0092] In this embodiment, by sending first information, the first device can process channel data under multiple frequency domain resources according to the first information to determine the first channel data, thereby reducing the feedback overhead of the first device. That is, the terminal device does not need to report after each BWP measurement, but can wait until all BWP measurements are completed and the first channel data is obtained before reporting.

[0093] It should be noted that the first information can be used to indicate whether the first channel data is determined. That is, the first information can be used to indicate whether the first channel data is determined or not.

[0094] Taking frequency domain resources as a frequency band as an example, the first information can be used to instruct the first device to perform channel splicing in order to obtain channel data of the entire frequency band. The first information can also be used to instruct the first device not to perform channel splicing, so as to report channel data of different frequency bands respectively.

[0095] In one possible implementation, the first information is a 1-bit indication. For example, when the indication is "0", the first information instructs the first device to perform channel splicing; when the indication is "1", the first information instructs the first device not to perform channel splicing. As another example, when the indication is "1", the first information instructs the first device to perform channel splicing; when the indication is "0", the first information instructs the first device not to perform channel splicing. Specific details are not limited here.

[0096] 602. The second device sends a first pilot signal to the first device. Correspondingly, the first device receives the first pilot signal from the second device.

[0097] The first pilot signal is used by the first device to determine the first channel data. Specifically, the first pilot signal is CSI-RS. The first device obtains channel data under multiple frequency domain resources based on CSI-RS measurements, and performs channel splicing on the channel data under the multiple frequency domain resources according to the first information to obtain the first channel data.

[0098] 603. The first device determines the first channel data based on the first information and the first pilot signal.

[0099] The first channel data is obtained by concatenating channel data from multiple frequency domain resources. Specifically, the channels measured by the terminal device on different time domain resources have random delay differences, so they need to be concatenated together through delay calibration.

[0100] The channel splicing methods are described below. These methods are merely examples; in practical applications, the first device can also use other channel splicing methods to splice channel data from multiple frequency domain resources. Specific methods are not limited here.

[0101] Taking channel data under multiple frequency domain resources as channel data under multiple frequency bands as an example, one possible implementation is to assume that the first device measures data of continuous carriers in two consecutive measurements. The channel data with the highest carrier frequency during the first measurement is h1, and the channel data with the lowest carrier frequency during the second measurement is h2. The time delay is inferred using h1 and h2, and this time delay is expressed as:

[0102] Where e represents the natural base, j is the imaginary unit, and φ is the time delay. For the estimated time delay, |·| represents absolute value, and * represents conjugate.

[0103] Multiply the channel data from the second measurement by Then, the two sets of data are spliced together to obtain the first channel data.

[0104] Another possible implementation is to record the channel data measured by the first device as H1 and the data measured by the second device as H2, and then extrapolate the data H1 in the frequency domain to obtain the data in the same frequency band as H2. use The time delay is inferred from H2:

[0105] Multiply the channel data from the second measurement by Then, the two sets of data are spliced together to obtain the first channel data.

[0106] Frequency extrapolation is a signal processing technique used to predict or estimate spectral components beyond the original observation range based on known spectral data. Its core idea is to use mathematical methods to extend limited frequency domain information to a wider frequency band, thereby generating a more complete signal representation in the frequency domain.

[0107] In one possible implementation, the first channel data is used to calculate the frequency domain covariance matrix. The frequency domain covariance matrix of a channel describes the correlation and power distribution among different frequency components within the channel. In wireless communication, channel characteristics vary with frequency, and the frequency domain covariance matrix provides crucial information for system design and optimization by analyzing the statistical characteristics of the channel response in the frequency domain.

[0108] In this embodiment, due to the limited capabilities of the terminal device, only one BWP can be activated at any given time. Therefore, the terminal device needs to measure the channels of different BWPs at multiple consecutive times. Since there is a certain time delay difference between the channels measured at different times, the terminal device needs to stitch them together after time delay calibration to obtain the frequency domain covariance matrix of the entire frequency band.

[0109] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG6 further includes step 604. Step 604 may be performed after step 603.

[0110] 604. The first device sends second information to the second device. Correspondingly, the second device receives the second information from the first device.

[0111] The second information is used to indicate the first channel data. For example, the second information includes a frequency domain covariance matrix, which is calculated based on the first channel data.

[0112] In one possible implementation, the first device can calculate the Power Delay Spectrum (PDP) based on the first channel data. The PDP is obtained by measuring the time-domain characteristics of the channel impulse response (CIR), reflecting the delay distribution of the signal due to multipath effects during transmission. The physical meaning of the delay power spectrum is: the power density distribution of different delay paths in the received signal at a given moment.

[0113] The following explains how to calculate the PDP. The calculation method described below is merely an example; in practical applications, the first device can also use other methods to calculate the PDP, which are not limited here.

[0114] Assume the frequency domain covariance matrix of the complete frequency band is N f That is the number of subcarriers. Let Let be a DFT matrix, where Then PDP is Where diag represents the diagonal element.

[0115] Optionally, the second information includes truncated PDP values, i.e., PDP values with coefficients greater than or equal to a preset threshold. The first device may discard PDP values with coefficients less than the preset threshold.

[0116] The second device can recover the frequency domain covariance matrix of the entire frequency band based on the received PDP, and construct the frequency domain basis of the entire frequency band. For example, the first device utilizes the PDP to recover the frequency domain covariance. Where S d It is a diagonal matrix, and S d [i,i]=s d [i], i.e., S d The vector composed of the diagonal elements is the time delay spectrum vector s. d For the frequency domain covariance matrix R f Perform eigenvalue decomposition, R f =Q∑Q H , This yields the frequency domain basis Q.

[0117] In this embodiment of the application, by performing a Fourier transform on the frequency domain covariance matrix to obtain the PDP and then sending the PDP, the feedback overhead of the first device can be reduced.

[0118] It should be noted that using PDP to indicate the frequency domain covariance matrix is only one example. In practical applications, the first device can also use other information to indicate the frequency domain covariance matrix, thereby reducing feedback overhead. Specific details are not limited here.

[0119] Optionally, the second information also includes 1 bit of indication information. For example, when the indication information is "0", it indicates that the first device has not performed channel splicing; when the indication information is "1", it indicates that the first device has completed channel splicing. As another example, when the indication information is "1", it indicates that the first device has not performed channel splicing; when the indication information is "0", it indicates that the first device has completed channel splicing. Specific details are not limited here.

[0120] In other words, the second information can be used to indicate that the first channel data reported by the first device is full-band channel data, or the second information can be used to indicate that the first channel data includes channel data under multiple frequency domain resources.

[0121] In this embodiment, the first channel data can represent not only the frequency domain characteristics of the channel, but also the spatial domain characteristics of the channel; the specifics are not limited here.
