Description

[0001] Mounting arrangement for a motor vehicle and motor vehicle

[0002] The invention relates to a fastening arrangement for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle.

[0003] US Patent 5407239 A discloses a bumper support for a vehicle bumper. The bumper support comprises a base carrier of a predetermined length, which can be attached to a vehicle body. An inner surface of the base carrier faces the vehicle body. The bumper support also includes an impact beam, which is attached to an outer surface of the base carrier to absorb an impact in the event of a vehicle collision. Furthermore, the bumper support comprises a first engagement device provided on the base carrier and a second engagement device provided on the impact beam such that the impact beam can be connected to the base carrier by sliding engagement of the first and second engagement devices in an axial direction of the base carrier.

[0004] Furthermore, a method for repairing a vehicle chassis rail is known from US Patent 2023 / 0142505 A1. In this method, a mark is identified on the chassis rail, indicating where the chassis rail is to be cut. The chassis rail is cut near the mark to form a cut chassis rail section. A replacement rail assembly is then slid onto the cut chassis rail section. The replacement rail assembly comprises a replacement rail, an inner bracing section secured within the replacement rail, and a support that is at least partially wrapped around and attached to the replacement rail, the support comprising one or more fastening points. Finally, the replacement rail assembly is fastened to the cut chassis rail section.

[0005] The object of the present invention is to provide a solution which enables the removal of a cross member device from a body shell of a motor vehicle with a particularly low risk of damaging the body shell of the motor vehicle.

[0006] This problem is solved according to the invention by the subject matter of the independent claims. Further possible embodiments of the invention are disclosed in the dependent claims, the description, and the figures. Features, advantages, and possible embodiments set forth in the description for one of the subject matter of the independent claims are to be regarded, at least analogously, as features, advantages, and possible embodiments of the respective subject matter of the other independent claims, as well as of any possible combination of the subject matter of the independent claims, optionally in conjunction with one or more of the dependent claims.

[0007] The invention relates to a fastening arrangement for a motor vehicle, in which a crossmember device is attached to a body-in-white. The body-in-white is, in particular, a car body component. The body-in-white comprises a base body and two tabs projecting from the base body. These tabs are loop-shaped projections of the body-in-white on the base body. The respective tabs are provided, in particular, by a strip of material which is held at both ends on the base body and has a loop-shaped form by projecting beyond the base body.

[0008] Furthermore, the crossbeam assembly comprises a crossbeam and two fastening devices attached to the crossbeam, by means of which the crossbeam is held to the structural component. The fastening plates can be held to the crossbeam by means of deformation elements. Each fastening device includes a mounting plate with screw holes. These screw holes are aligned with corresponding screw holes in the structural component. This allows the crossbeam assembly to be screwed to the structural component by means of screws inserted through each screw hole and its corresponding screw hole. For this purpose, the screws can be inserted in the screwing direction through both the screw hole associated with that screw and the screw hole associated with that screw.The screw hole and the corresponding mounting hole are designed to overlap in the screw direction. Each mounting plate's suspension area is designed to be hooked onto a corresponding tab of the component. In other words, each mounting plate can be hooked into the corresponding tab of the component in a specific direction. Specifically, the suspension direction is vertical when used as intended. To align the crossbeam assembly with the component, the mounting plate is hooked into the corresponding tab of the component from above, thus pre-aligning the crossbeam assembly relative to the component.This makes it particularly easy to align the respective screw holes with the corresponding screw holes and to screw the crossbeam device to the raw component particularly easily.

[0009] The tab can, for example, be U-shaped. The U-shaped tab has the form of a bow, meaning it can resemble an open, for example, curved, arc. The respective ends of the tab are attached to the structural frame. The middle part of the tab extends from the structural frame, for example, in an arc shape. This creates a gap between the middle section of the tab and the structural frame, particularly the side of the structural frame facing the middle section of the tab. This gap forms a mounting opening between the middle section of the tab and the structural frame, into which the corresponding mounting section of the associated fastening plate can be inserted.

[0010] Each of the tabs is designed to prevent relative movement along the longitudinal axis of the crossmember of the associated mounting plate relative to the body-in-white in one direction and to allow movement in the opposite direction. In particular, the longitudinal axis of the crossmember is at least substantially perpendicular to the screw direction. In the intended installation position of the mounting assembly in the vehicle, the longitudinal axis of the crossmember is at least substantially perpendicular to the vehicle's vertical direction and thus perpendicular to the vertical. It is possible for the longitudinal axis of the crossmember to run in the transverse direction of the vehicle and thus perpendicular to the vehicle's longitudinal direction. The tabs are designed to allow relative movement of the mounting plates towards each other and to prevent relative movement of the mounting plates away from each other.The described fastening arrangement is based on the understanding that if the crossbeam is damaged, for example, due to bending, the fastening plates attached to the structural component can be subjected to a force acting towards each other along the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam. If the respective screws holding the crossbeam assembly to the structural component are loosened, then this force, caused by the bending, can actually move the fastening plates towards each other, since they are no longer fixed to the structural component by the screws.Because the tabs allow the mounting plates to move towards each other, the mounting plates can move towards each other along the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam after the screws are loosened, without damaging the tabs. Thus, when the crossbeam assembly is detached from the structural component, the structural component is not damaged by the forces acting on the mounting plates as a result of the crossbeam bending. If the tabs were to impede or block the movement of the mounting plates towards each other, the tabs could be damaged after the screws are loosened due to the forces exerted by the respective mounting plate pulling the plates towards each other.The described design of the tabs, such that they do not impede the movement of the mounting plates towards each other, significantly reduces the risk of damaging the structural component when detaching the crossbeam assembly from the component, for example, to replace the crossbeam assembly due to damage. Because the crossbeam is at least essentially straight, and the mounting plates could therefore move towards each other if the crossbeam were to bend, there is virtually no risk of damaging the tabs due to forces pulling the mounting plates apart.The fact that the respective tabs are designed to limit, and in particular completely prevent, movement of the respective associated mounting plates in one direction can be achieved by hooking the respective mounting plates with their respective hooking areas into the associated tabs, thus enabling a particularly precise positioning of the crossbeam device relative to the raw component along the longitudinal extension direction of the crossbeam.

[0011] In a possible further development of the invention, it is provided that, in the intended installation position of the fastening arrangement in the motor vehicle, the respective attachment area is inserted from top to bottom into an attachment opening defined by the associated tab, in the vehicle's vertical direction. In other words, it is provided that the respective fastening plates with their attachment areas are hooked into the respective associated tabs from above, whereby the cross member device is suspended from the body-in-white via the tabs. This ensures that, due to the force of gravity acting on the cross member device, the risk of the respective fastening plates becoming detached from the associated tabs is particularly low.

[0012] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, the respective tab rests against a side of the mounting plate facing away from the structural frame. Consequently, the insertion area of the respective mounting plate is arranged between the associated tab and the structural frame, particularly in the screw direction between the tab and the structural frame. This ensures that the mounting plate rests against both the side of the structural frame facing the tab and the side of the tab facing the structural frame, thereby effectively preventing the mounting plate and, consequently, the crossbeam assembly from tilting about an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam.In other words, by placing the mounting plate against the side of the tab facing the body shell, or vice versa, it is possible to prevent the crossmember assembly from tilting around the vehicle's transverse axis in its intended installation position within the vehicle after it has been inserted into the mounting holes defined by the tabs of the body shell. Consequently, the screw holes are aligned with their corresponding mounting holes with exceptional precision, allowing the crossmember assembly to be bolted to the body shell particularly easily and quickly.

[0013] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, the respective tabs are held at their respective ends, opposite each other in the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam, by means of respective connection areas on the basic structural body of the component. In other words, each tab has two connection areas, each of which is arranged at one end of the tab. It is provided that a first of the connection areas provides a stop for the associated mounting plate, whereby, by the attachment area of the mounting plate being pressed against the stop, the relative movement of the mounting plate with this attachment area to the structural body in the direction of the stop is prevented.The mounting plate's insertion area is thus located in the immediate vicinity of the first connection point in the screw direction, between the bracket and the structural frame. Due to the bracket's connection to the structural frame via its first connection point, it is prevented from moving relative to the bracket or the structural frame in the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam towards or past the bracket's first connection point. Specifically, the brackets are designed to have their first connection point at their outer ends along the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam.In this context, it is specifically intended that, in the intended installation position of the fastening assembly in the motor vehicle, the first attachment area of each tab is positioned higher in the vehicle's vertical direction than the second attachment area of that tab. Specifically, it is intended that the respective second attachment areas of each tab are positioned further inward along the longitudinal direction of the crossmember than the first attachment areas. In other words, each tab has its first attachment area on the side facing away from the other tab and its second attachment area on the side facing the other tab.Because the second mounting area is positioned lower in the vehicle's vertical direction than the first, the insertion area of the respective mounting plate is not aligned with the tab in the screw direction, but rather positioned above the tab in the vehicle's vertical direction. Consequently, the insertion area of the mounting plate can be moved along the longitudinal direction of the crossmember towards or past the second mounting area by sliding past the tab above the second mounting area. This makes the movement of the mounting plates towards each other along the longitudinal direction of the crossmember particularly easy and reliable.

[0014] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, the attachment area rests on the second connection area of the associated tab. By resting the attachment area on the second connection area of the associated tab, it can be ensured that the crossmember device is positioned in its intended installation position relative to the body-in-white in the vehicle as a result of being attached in the vehicle's vertical direction. Furthermore, by resting the attachment area on the second connection area of the tab, it can be ensured that the attachment area of the mounting plate does not engage behind the second connection area of the tab, thus allowing the attachment area of the mounting plate to move vertically above the second connection area of the tab along the longitudinal direction of the crossmember relative to the tab.

[0015] In a further possible embodiment of the invention, the tab is designed to slope in a stepped manner from the first connection area to the second connection area. This stepped slope, particularly in the area of a first step adjoining the first connection area, ensures that the tab, with its side facing the structural frame, rests against the mounting plate, especially against the suspension area, and thus effectively prevents the crossbeam assembly from tilting about a longitudinal axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the crossbeam.A further, lower step adjoining the second connection area can be designed such that, in the intended installation position of the mounting assembly in the vehicle, it is located completely below the mounting plate's insertion area. This allows the mounting plate's insertion area to move in the vehicle's vertical direction above this lower step of the tab relative to the tab in the longitudinal direction of the crossmember. The stepped design thus enables the tab to bear against a particularly large area on the side of the mounting plate's insertion area facing away from the body shell, preventing the crossmember assembly from tilting, and allows for particularly simple manufacturing of the individual tabs.

[0016] In another possible embodiment of the invention, the crossmember is a bumper support. The bumper support serves to dampen impact forces and thus prevent them from being transmitted into the vehicle's body shell. The bumper support can absorb and / or transfer impact energy. The bumper support can be located in the front or rear of the vehicle in the intended installation position of the mounting arrangement. The body shell is, in particular, the vehicle's body. If the bumper support is deformed as a result of an impact, this often leads to the mounting plates of the bumper support being subjected to a force that pulls the mounting plates towards each other.If the mounting plate's screws are now loosened, the mounting plates can move towards each other due to the forces acting upon them, without damaging the component's tabs. Consequently, the bumper support can be replaced on the component without any risk of damaging the component, particularly its tabs.

[0017] The invention further relates to a motor vehicle with a crossmember device and a body-in-white, which are held together in a fastening arrangement as already described in connection with the fastening arrangement according to the invention. In particular, the fastening arrangement is arranged in the motor vehicle such that the crossmember is aligned with its longitudinal direction in the transverse direction of the vehicle. Furthermore, the fastening arrangement is oriented such that the insertion areas of the respective fastening plates are inserted into respective insertion openings bounded by the tabs on the body-in-white in the vertical direction of the vehicle, whereby the insertion areas are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle between the respective tab and the body-in-white.

[0018] In another possible embodiment of the invention, the crossmember device is arranged in the rear section of the motor vehicle. In other words, the mounting arrangement is located in the rear section of the motor vehicle. Specifically, the crossmember is a bumper support. This bumper protects the vehicle's body shell, particularly the vehicle body, from damage in the rear section resulting from an impact. The described mounting arrangement allows for particularly easy installation of a crossmember device intended for the rear section onto the vehicle's body shell, especially the vehicle body.

[0019] Further features of the invention may become apparent from the following description of the figures and from the drawings. The features and combinations of features mentioned above in the description, as well as the features and combinations of features shown below in the description of the figures and / or in the figures themselves, can be used not only in the combinations specified, but also in other combinations or individually, without departing from the scope of the invention.

[0020] The drawing shows in:

[0021] Fig. 1 shows a schematic top view of the rear of a motor vehicle;

[0022] Fig. 2 is a schematic perspective view of the rear of a motor vehicle in which a fastening arrangement is arranged, shown exploded;

[0023] Fig. 3 is a schematic top view of a section of a fastening arrangement located in the rear area of the motor vehicle. Fig. 4 is a schematic perspective view of a section of the fastening arrangement.

[0024] Identical or functionally equivalent elements are provided with the same reference symbols in the figures.

[0025] Figure 1 shows a schematic top view of the rear 1 of a motor vehicle 2. A bumper 3 can be seen extending across the rear of the motor vehicle 2 in the transverse direction y. This bumper 3 covers a bumper support 4, which is part of a mounting assembly 5. The mounting assembly 5 is shown in an exploded schematic perspective view in Figure 2. It comprises a body-in-white 6, which in this case is a body component of the motor vehicle 2.

[0026] Furthermore, the fastening arrangement 5 comprises a cross member device 7, which has the bumper support 4 as a cross member and includes two fastening devices 8. It is provided that the bumper support 4 is fastened to the body-in-white 6 by means of the two fastening devices 8. Several screws 9 are provided for this purpose, by means of which the fastening devices 8 are each screwed to the body-in-white 6. As can be seen in Fig. 2, it is provided that the fastening arrangement 5 is arranged in the rear area of the motor vehicle 2 and that the bumper support 4 is aligned with its longitudinal direction in the transverse direction y of the vehicle. The respective fastening devices 8 are arranged on the bumper support 4 at opposite end regions of the bumper support 4 in the transverse direction y of the vehicle.

[0027] The connection of the respective fastening devices 8 to the body-in-white 6 is described in more detail below in connection with Figures 3 and 4. Each fastening device 8 comprises a mounting plate 10, which is designed to be placed against the body-in-white 6 and screwed to it. Figure 3 shows only the mounting plate 10 of one of the fastening devices 8 in a top view from the rear of the body-in-white 6, looking in the longitudinal direction x of the vehicle. The fastening device 8 and the body-in-white 6 are shown in a schematic perspective view from a rear oblique angle in Figure 4. Each mounting plate 10 has several screw holes 11. In this case, each mounting plate 10 has four screw holes 11. The body-in-white 6 has four screw holes 12 for each mounting plate 10.To bolt the respective mounting plate 10 to the component 6, the screw holes 11 and the connecting holes 12 must be aligned in the longitudinal direction x of the vehicle. To bolt the respective mounting plate 10 to the component 6, a screw 9 is inserted through each screw hole 11 or connecting hole 12, specifically in the longitudinal direction x of the vehicle, thus bolting the respective mounting plate 10 to the component 6. The respective mounting plate 10 can also be referred to as a bulkhead plate.

[0028] To facilitate the screwing of the respective mounting plates 10 to the body-in-white 6, each mounting plate 10 is pre-positioned by being hooked onto a tab 13 of the body-in-white 6. The body-in-white 6 thus comprises a base body 14 and a tab 13, which is held to the base body 14 and projects rearward from it, at least partially, in the longitudinal direction x of the vehicle. The tab 13 is designed in a band-like shape and has connection areas at its ends opposite each other in the transverse direction y of the vehicle, by means of which the tab 13 is held to the base body 14. In other words, each tab 13 has a first connection area 15 and a second connection area 16 at its ends opposite each other in the transverse direction y of the vehicle.Each of the mounting plates 10 is provided with a mounting area 17, which is to be inserted between the body shell 14 and the tab 13 for mounting the mounting plate 10 in the longitudinal direction x of the vehicle. For this purpose, the respective mounting area 17 is inserted or hooked into a mounting opening 18 bounded by the associated tab 13 in the vertical direction z of the vehicle, from top to bottom. The respective tab 13 is designed to rest against a side of the mounting plate 10 facing away from the body shell 14.

[0029] As can be seen particularly well in Figures 3 and 4, the tab 13 is designed in a U-shape, formed by a band element attached at both ends to the basic body 14. In this case, the first attachment area 15 is positioned higher in the vehicle's vertical direction z than the second attachment area 16. Furthermore, the tab 13 is designed with a stepped slope from the first attachment area 15 to the second attachment area 16.This stepped design provides a stop for the mounting area 17 in the first attachment area 15. By engaging the mounting area 17 against the stop, particularly by moving the mounting area 17 towards or against the first attachment area 15 in the transverse direction y of the vehicle, further relative movement of the mounting area 17 of the mounting plate 10 in the transverse direction y towards or past the first attachment area 15 is prevented. The tab 13 thus prevents the mounting plate 10 from moving in the transverse direction of the vehicle in the direction in which the mounting area 17 engages the stop. Figures 3 and 4 show the left mounting device 8 in a top view of the rear 1 of the motor vehicle 2.In other words, the first attachment area 15 of the tab 13 prevents the mounting plate 10 from moving outwards in the transverse direction y of the vehicle relative to the body shell 6.

[0030] As can be seen in Figures 3 and 4, the mounting plate 10 rests on the tab 13 in the immediate vicinity of the second connection area 16. This means that the mounting plate 10 does not engage behind the tab 13 in the immediate vicinity of the second connection area 16 and is thus arranged in the longitudinal direction x of the vehicle between the tab 13 and the body shell 14. Consequently, the attachment area 17 of the mounting plate 10 can be moved in the transverse direction y of the vehicle towards the second connection area 16 or past the second connection area 16 above it. As can be seen particularly well in Figures 3 and 4, the attachment area 17 is designed to rest on the second connection area 16 of the associated tab 13. The tab 13 thus allows relative movement of the mounting plate 10 in the direction of the center of the transverse axis of the vehicle 2.Each of the tabs 13, by virtue of its design with the connection areas 15, 16, prevents relative movement of the mounting plate 10 along the longitudinal direction of the bumper support 4 or along the transverse direction y of the vehicle. The respective mounting plate 10 held by this tab 13 is prevented from moving outwards in the transverse direction y of the vehicle. At the same time, the tabs allow relative movement of the respective mounting plate 10 held by this tab 13 towards the other mounting plate 10 along the transverse direction y of the vehicle or along the longitudinal direction of the bumper support 4. Thus, the tabs 13 allow relative movement of the mounting plates 10 towards each other with respect to the body-in-white 6 and prevent relative movement of the mounting plates 10 away from each other with respect to the body-in-white 6.

[0031] The described invention is based on the understanding that, upon impact, the bumper support 4 can be deformed, in particular bent, whereby the respective ends of the bumper support 4, to which the respective fastening devices 8 are held, can be pulled towards each other as a result of the bending. If the screws are now loosened to remove the bumper support 4 from the body shell 6, the fastening plates 10 can be pulled towards each other along the transverse direction y of the vehicle due to the deformation of the bumper support 4. Because the tabs 13 allow this movement of the fastening plates 10 towards each other along the transverse direction y of the vehicle, damage to the tabs 13 caused by the relative movement of the fastening plates 10 towards each other as a result of loosening the screws can be particularly well avoided.As a result, the raw component 6 can be obtained in a particularly undamaged state after the removal of the cross member device 7. Consequently, repair costs for the motor vehicle 2 can be kept particularly low.

[0032] Overall, the invention demonstrates how, by providing the tabs 13 and the mounting areas 17 of the fastening plates 10, a crash-optimized assembly aid for mounting the crossbeam device 7 on the raw component 6 can be created. Reference numeral list
