People often notice various products such as watch worn by a hero, a lamp in a living room, and a robotic vacuum cleaner used in a kitchen while streaming the film. Further, the products in the film may grab the people’s attention while streaming the film, leaving them with a desire to purchase the products. However, without any direct information or accessible purchasing options, this interest often remains unfulfilled.
[0008] Further, users often encounter several challenges when trying to find and purchase the products viewed on the OTT platform and the users might have difficulty in identifyingor locating a specific product viewed on the OTT platform, leading to frustration and missed purchasing opportunities.
[0009] Additionally, lack of efficiency in locating the product compels the users to rely on a manual search such as search engines, social media, or electronic-commerce platforms, with no guarantee of finding the specific product viewed on the OTT platform. Consequently, a delay in identification of the product often results in missed marketing for brands.

[0051] Consider a non-limiting example, wherein producer X of the film collaborates with a fashion brand (retailer) Y to promote a leather jacket. The producer X then collaborates with an OTT platform to upsell the leather jacket. The producer X provides a product tag (image, brand name and detailed description) regarding the leather jacket to a content creator Z via an input module (120). The product tag is then available to the content creator Z via a content access module (130). Further, the integration module (140) allows the content creator Z to insert the leather jacket at a predefined timestamp in the film, thereby ensuring visual exposure to a user. As the user streams the film, the data transmission module (150) transmits the image, brand name and the time stamp of the leather jacket to an advertising platform. Further, if the user pauses the film and searches for similar products, their interactions are stored in a user device. Based on the user engagement, the advertising module (160) generates a personalized ad featuring the same leather jacket or similar products. If the user decides and buys the leather jacket, the monitorization module (170) ensures that a portion of revenue is shared with the producer X and content creator Z as part of the product placement agreement.
[0052] In an example, the OTT platform, such as Amazon Prime, stores the product tag associated with one or more products within its ecosystem. The Amazon Prime transmits the product tag, contextual information related to the one or more products, and a unique identifier of the OTT platform to an associated e-commerce platform, such as Amazon’s e-commerce platform, to facilitate product upselling. Since the Amazon Prime and the Amazon e-commerce platform operate within a unifiedecosystem, seamless data exchange enables personalized product recommendations based on user interactions with the OTT platform. In an another example, the OTT platform, such as Zee5, which does not have a directly associated e-commerce platform, transmits the product tag, the contextual information of one or more products, and the unique identifier of the OTT platform to a third-party digital advertising networks, such as Google Ads and Facebook Pixel, for upselling the one or more products.
