Abstract
Description
Aerosol products
[0001] This invention relates to aerosol products.
[0002] Non-combustion heating type aerosol products are known. For example, stick-shaped aerosol products used in combination with electric heating aerosol generators are known. Flavoring components contained in the heated aerosol product include tobacco components or non-tobacco components, which may or may not contain nicotine. Another example of an aerosol product is the so-called e-cigarette device. This device typically contains a liquid that is heated and vaporized to produce an inhalable aerosol. This liquid may contain flavoring components such as nicotine, as well as an aerosol base material. The e-cigarette device comprises a container for holding the liquid and means for vaporizing the liquid. Yet another example of an aerosol product is a low-temperature heating device. In a low-temperature heating device, typically a container containing the aerosol base material and a container containing a material containing tobacco components and / or other flavoring components are arranged separately. This aerosol base material is heated and vaporized to generate an inhalable aerosol, which then passes through a container containing tobacco components or other flavoring components, imparting the tobacco components or flavoring components to the aerosol. Patent Document 1 discloses a smoking product containing a specific compound as a cooling agent and an aerosol generating device including a heat source.
[0003] Special Publication No. 2020-513233
[0004] Non-combustion heating type aerosol products contain flavoring components such as tobacco components and fragrances, but there is room for improvement regarding the flavor of these components that are delivered to the user. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a technique for adding a specific cooling agent to a smoking product, but it does not describe the flavor of the flavoring components. The object of the present invention is to provide an aerosol product that has been improved in terms of the flavor of the flavoring components delivered to the user.
[0005] The inventors diligently conducted research to solve the above problems. As a result, they found that the above problems can be solved by an aerosol product having a component containing a specific compound, wherein the concentration of the specific compound in that component is 180 ppm or higher, and thus completed the present invention. In other words, the gist of the present invention is as follows.

In addition, in some figures in the drawings, the elements of the non-combustible aerosol generation system are not limited to being arranged in the directions shown in the drawings.
[0010] The aerosol product according to this embodiment will be described below with reference to the figures, but this embodiment is not limited to this form. In this specification, figures may be used to describe each embodiment, but the descriptions of each embodiment and the dimensions, materials, shapes, and relative positions of the components shown in the figures are examples only.
[0011] <Aerosol Products> Examples of aerosol products include an embodiment (Embodiment 1) comprising at least an aerosol generating segment, a mouthpiece segment, and an intermediate segment disposed between them, an embodiment of an e-cigarette device (Embodiment 2), and an embodiment of a low-temperature heating device (Embodiment 3). The aerosol product of Embodiment 1 will be described in detail below. An example of an e-cigarette device of Embodiment 2 is one comprising at least a container for holding liquid, liquid disposed in the container, and means for vaporizing the liquid. The low-temperature heating device of Embodiment 3 comprises at least a container in which an aerosol substrate is disposed, a container in which a material containing tobacco components and / or other flavor components is disposed, and means for heating the aerosol substrate at a low temperature.
[0012] The aerosol product according to the present invention has a component containing a compound represented by the following formula (1), wherein the concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) in that component is 180 ppm or more. In formula (1), R is an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms. In formula (1), it is preferable that R has 2 or 4 carbon atoms. The preference for R having 2 or 4 carbon atoms in formula (1) is also true for each embodiment described later. The concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) in the above components is preferably 60,000 ppm or less. The compound represented by formula (1) may also include multiple compounds with different numbers of carbon atoms in R. In that case, it is preferable that the total concentration of the multiple types of compounds is within the above range. As an example of a combination of compounds with different numbers of carbon atoms in R represented by formula (1), a combination of compounds with 2 or 4 carbon atoms in R can be given. In that case, the mixing ratio can be 1:10 to 10:1 in mass ratio between the compound with 2 carbon atoms in R and the compound with 4 carbon atoms in R, preferably 1:4 to 4:1, and more preferably 2:3 to 3:2.
[0013] The concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) is 180 ppm or more in at least one component of the aerosol product of each embodiment described above. For example, in Embodiment 1, the component containing the compound represented by formula (1) can be an aerosol generating segment and / or a mouthpiece segment. Among these components, if the aerosol generating segment contains the compound represented by formula (1), the aerosol generating segment may have an aerosol generating segment filler, and the aerosol generating segment filler may contain the compound represented by formula (1). If the mouthpiece segment contains the compound represented by formula (1), the mouthpiece segment may have a filter, and the filter may contain the compound represented by formula (1). In Embodiment 2, the component containing the compound represented by formula (1) can be the liquid placed in the container. In Embodiment 3, the component containing the compound represented by formula (1) can be a material containing the tobacco component and / or other flavoring components.
[0014] When the components of an aerosol product contain the compound shown in formula (1), a change occurs in how the user perceives the flavor of the flavor components when the product is used. The inventors of the present invention have considered the mechanism as follows: TRP channels are one type of ion channel receptor present in the cell membrane. Among TRP channels, the TRPV1 channel is known to be activated by heat, acid, capsaicin, etc., and induces a feeling of warmth or irritation. The compound shown in formula (1), in particular the compound in which R has 2 or 4 carbon atoms, activates TRPV1, and it is presumed that this is the factor causing a change in how the user perceives the flavor of the flavor components when the aerosol product is used. Conventionally, when trying to change how the user perceives the flavor of the flavor components of an aerosol product, methods such as changing the amount of flavor component added or adding other flavor improvers have been used (for example, Patent Document 1). However, there were limitations to the method regarding the amount of flavor component added, such as the need to add a large amount in order to change the flavor. Furthermore, other flavor enhancers also had limitations, such as not providing the desired flavor improvement. In contrast, the present invention allows the aerosol product to contain the compound represented by formula (1) as a component, thereby improving, for example, the flavor sensation, or, if the aerosol product contains menthol as a flavoring, improving the menthol sensation. In addition, if the aerosol product contains tobacco components, it is possible to achieve less aftertaste. Less aftertaste, in other words, means less off-flavor (sensation) that may occur in the mouth when the user uses the aerosol product, such as less stickiness, bitterness, irritation, and other undesirable sensations. Since the compound represented by formula (1) has the above properties, it can be used to improve the flavor of the flavor components of the aerosol product. When adding the compound represented by formula (1) to the aerosol product, it is preferable to add it so that at least one component of the aerosol product contains 180 ppm or more, 500 ppm or more, 1000 ppm or more, or 3500 ppm or more. On the other hand, the upper limit of the concentration can be 60000 ppm, 30000 ppm, 8000 ppm, or 4000 ppm. The above concentration range can be applied whether the compound represented by formula (1) is a mixture of two or more compounds or a single compound. Specific embodiments of the aerosol product will be described later. This concentration range can be applied in common to each embodiment described later.
[0015] (Embodiment 1) The aerosol product of Embodiment 1 of the present invention comprises an aerosol generating segment, a mouthpiece segment, and an intermediate segment arranged between them. Details of each segment will be described later. The manner in which the aerosol product according to Embodiment 1 is used is not particularly limited, and the aerosol product may be an electrically heated aerosol product, a non-combustible aerosol product, or a cigarette (paper-wrapped cigarette). An example of the aerosol product 100 according to Embodiment 1 is a substantially cylindrical rod shape. In the example shown in Figures 1 and 2, the aerosol product 100 includes an aerosol generating segment 110, an intermediate segment 120, a mouthpiece segment 130, and a tip paper 140 that integrally connects them. The intermediate segment 120 and the mouthpiece segment 130 are connected coaxially with the aerosol generating segment 110 by being wound together with the aerosol generating segment 110 by the tip paper 140. When the aerosol product 100 according to Embodiment 1 is used as a cigarette, it may have an intermediate segment 120. However, since cigarettes generally do not have an intermediate segment, it can be used in a form in which the aerosol generating segment 110 is extended to the region where the intermediate segment 120 would otherwise exist, without having an intermediate segment 120.
[0016] Reference numeral 101 denotes the mouthpiece end of the aerosol product 100 (mouthpiece segment 130). Reference numeral 102 denotes the tip of the aerosol product 100 opposite to the mouthpiece end 101. The aerosol generating segment 110 is located on the tip 102 side of the aerosol product 100. In the example shown in Figures 1 and 2, the aerosol product 100 has a substantially constant diameter along its entire length in the longitudinal direction (hereinafter also referred to as the longitudinal axis direction or Z direction) from the mouthpiece end 101 to the tip 102. Note that the direction on the reference numeral 101 side in the longitudinal axis direction or Z direction may also be referred to as downstream, and the direction on the reference numeral 102 side may be referred to as upstream.
[0017] The composition of the aerosol product 100 is not particularly limited and can be in a general form. In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the aerosol generation segment 110, the intermediate segment 120, and the mouthpiece segment 130 are each shown as single segments, but each part may be composed of one or more segments.
[0018] The airflow resistance in the longitudinal direction per aerosol product 100 is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of ease of inhalation, it is usually 10 mmH 2 It is 0 or greater, and 20 mmH 2 Preferably, it is 0 or higher, and 30 mmH 2 It is more preferable that the temperature is 0 or higher, and usually 200 mmH 2 It is less than or equal to 0 and 100 mmH 2 Preferably, it should be 0 or less, and 60 mmH 2 It is more preferable that the value be 0 or less. The air permeability resistance is measured according to the ISO standard method (ISO 6565:2015), for example, using a filter air permeability resistance meter manufactured by Cerulean Chemical Industries. The air permeability resistance refers to the pressure difference between the first end face and the second end face when air is flowed from one end face (first end face) to the other end face (second end face) at a predetermined airflow rate (17.5 cc / sec) while air does not permeate the sides of the aerosol product 100. The unit is generally mmH 2This is represented by O. The relationship between airflow resistance and the aerosol product 100 is known to be proportional within the commonly used length range (length 5 mm to 200 mm), and if the length of the aerosol product 100 doubles, its airflow resistance also doubles. The same applies to the airflow resistance described below.
[0019] The cross-sectional shape of the aerosol product 100 is not particularly limited and may be polygonal, rounded polygonal, circular, or elliptical. In this specification, "cross-section" refers to the surface extending in the X-axis and Y-axis directions of Figure 1. The length of the aerosol product 100 in the longitudinal direction is not particularly limited, for example, it is usually 40 mm or more, preferably 45 mm or more, and more preferably 50 mm or more. It is also usually 100 mm or less, preferably 90 mm or less, and more preferably 80 mm or less. The width (diameter if the cross-sectional shape is circular) of the tip 102 of the aerosol product 100 is not particularly limited, for example, it is usually 5 mm or more, preferably 5.5 mm or more. It is also usually 10 mm or less, preferably 9 mm or less, and more preferably 8 mm or less.
[0020] <Aerosol-Generating Segment> The aerosol-generating segment 110 according to one embodiment of the present invention may or may not contain tobacco raw materials. For example, the aerosol-generating segment can be made by wrapping an aerosol-generating segment filler 111, which consists of a sheet material containing tobacco raw materials or shredded tobacco, with a wrapping paper (wrapper) 112. The wrapping paper (wrapper) 112 may be wrapped so as to cover a part of the aerosol-generating segment 110, or it may be wrapped so as to cover the entire circumference of the aerosol-generating segment 110. The material of the wrapping paper (wrapper) 112 is not particularly limited, and known materials can be used. As the wrapping paper (wrapper), for example, paper mainly composed of pulp, metal foil, laminated paper of paper and metal foil, or metallized paper can be used. The wrapping paper (wrapper) may be single-layered or multi-layered. In addition, the wrapping paper (wrapper) may contain known fillers and auxiliary agents from the viewpoint of improving functionality such as water resistance and whiteness.
[0021] A wrapper 112 for wrapping the aerosol-generating segment is preferably coated on the inner side. The coating agent is not particularly limited, but a coating agent that can form a film on the paper surface and reduce liquid permeability is preferred. By providing the coating on the inner side of the wrapper 112, penetration of the aerosol-forming substrate contained in the aerosol-generating segment into the wrapper 112 can be suppressed even when the amount of the aerosol-forming substrate is large.
[0022] Further, the aerosol-generating segment 110 may have a fitting portion for fitting with a heater member or the like for heating the aerosol-generating article 100.
[0023] The length of the aerosol-generating segment 110 in the major axis direction can be appropriately adjusted according to the product size, and is usually 5 mm or more, preferably 7 mm or more, more preferably 10 mm or more, and usually 70 mm or less, preferably 50 mm or less, more preferably 30 mm or less, and even more preferably 25 mm or less.
[0024] The ventilation resistance of the aerosol-generating segment 110 is usually 0.1 mmH 2 O / mm to 20 mmH 2 O / mm, preferably 0.5 mmH 2 O / mm to 15 mmH 2 O / mm, more preferably 1.0 mmH 2 O / mm to 10 mmH 2 O / mm.
[0025] The aerosol-generating segment filler 111 may contain an aerosol-generating aerosol base material. The type of the aerosol base material is not particularly limited, and various natural extracts and / or their components can be selected depending on the application. Examples of aerosol base materials include glycerin, propylene glycol, triacetin, 1,3-butanediol, and mixtures thereof. The content of the aerosol base material in the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of generating sufficient aerosols and imparting a good flavor, it is usually 5% by weight or more, preferably 10% by weight or more, and usually 50% by weight or less, preferably 15% by weight or more and 25% by weight or less, relative to the total amount of the aerosol-generating segment filler.
[0026] When the aerosol-generating segment contains the compound represented by formula (1), the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 may also contain the compound represented by formula (1). In this case, the concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) is the concentration relative to the total amount of the aerosol-generating segment filler 111. This concentration is 180 ppm or more, and may be 500 ppm or more. If the number of carbon atoms in R of the compound represented by formula (1) is 2 or 4, it is more preferable that the concentration is 1000 ppm or more. On the other hand, it is preferable that the concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) is 8000 ppm or less. This concentration range contributes to reducing the aftertaste when using the aerosol product, or to enhancing the fragrance (e.g., menthol) sensation. Furthermore, if the aerosol-generating segment contains the compound represented by formula (1), and the aerosol-generating segment packing 111 contains the compound represented by formula (1), the amount of the compound represented by formula (1) added may be 0.03 to 2.50 mg, 0.05 to 2.50 mg, 0.07 to 2.30 mg, or 0.10 to 1.8 mg.
[0027] <Sheet Material Included in Aerosol-Generating Segment> The sheet material may or may not contain a tobacco raw material, and any known sheet material can be used. When the sheet material contains a tobacco raw material, it may be a shredded reconstituted tobacco sheet, or a shredded product obtained by pulverizing dried tobacco leaves into a tobacco pulverized product with an average particle size of 20 μm or more and 200 μm or less, homogenizing the pulverized product, and processing the homogenized product into a sheet (hereinafter also simply referred to as a homogenized sheet). Further, it may be a so-called strand type, in which a homogenized sheet having a length approximately equal to the longitudinal direction of the aerosol-generating segment 110 is shredded substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the aerosol-generating segment 110, and the shredded pieces are filled into the aerosol-generating segment 110. The content of dried tobacco leaves contained in the aerosol-generating segment 110 is not particularly limited, and may be 180 mg or more and 800 mg or less, or 200 mg or more and 750 mg or less, preferably 250 mg or more and 600 mg or less. This range is particularly suitable for the aerosol-generating segment 110 having a circumference of 22 mm and a length of 20 mm.
[0028] The method of filling the aerosol generating segment 110 with the sheet material is not particularly limited. For example, the sheet material may be wrapped in a wrapper 112, or the sheet material may be filled into a tubular wrapper 112. If the shape of the aerosol generating segment 110 is a substantially rectangular parallelepiped with a longitudinal direction, the aerosol generating segment 110 may be filled in such a way that its longitudinal direction is in an unspecified direction within the wrapper 112, or it may be filled in an aligned manner so that it is aligned along the longitudinal axis of the aerosol generating segment 110 or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. For example, the sheet material may be cut into widths of 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm (lengths of, for example, 5 mm to 40 mm) and filled in a random orientation, or the sheet material may be cut into widths of 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm (lengths of, for example, 5 mm to 40 mm) and filled in an aligned manner parallel to the longitudinal axis, or the sheet material may be crimped (processed to create vertical grooves) and then gathered and filled. When the aerosol generating segment 110 is heated, the tobacco components contained in the aerosol generating segment 110 vaporize, and upon inhalation, these vaporize and transfer to the intermediate segment 120 and the mouthpiece segment 130.
[0029] The width of the sheet material depends on the size and shape of the aerosol generating segment 110. For example, if the aerosol generating segment 110 is a rod shape with a major axis length of 14 mm and a diameter of 7 mm, the width is usually 50 mm to 250 mm, more preferably 100 mm to 200 mm, and even more preferably 140 mm to 160 mm. If the width of the sheet material is within the above range, sufficient aerosol can be generated.
[0030] The above description assumes that the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 contains tobacco raw materials, but it is not limited to this. For example, the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 may be a non-tobacco plant filler containing non-tobacco plants. The non-tobacco plants are not particularly limited, but for example, plants used as herbs or spices can be used. Specific examples of plants used as herbs or spices include dill seeds, rosemary, star anise, cloves, oregano, ginger, and chamomile. The matters described above regarding the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 can also be applied to the non-tobacco plant filler by replacing tobacco powder (tobacco leaves) with non-tobacco plant powder. Furthermore, if the sheet material contained in the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 does not contain tobacco raw materials, the sheet material may be, for example, paper, plastic film, cellulose acetate, or nonwoven fabric. In particular, when using paper, plastic film, cellulose acetate, or nonwoven fabric, they may further contain any materials such as aerosol base material and fragrance. The fragrances will be discussed later. The provisions for using a sheet material containing tobacco raw materials in the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 can also be applied by substituting them with the cases where the sheet material not containing the above-mentioned tobacco raw materials is used.
[0031] <Tip Segment> The aerosol product 100 may include a tip segment (not shown) adjacent to the upstream side in the longitudinal direction of the aerosol generating segment 110. The tip segment may have a filler inside and be wrapped with a wrapper (tip segment wrapper). The filler may include cellulose acetate fibers, natural pulp fibers, etc. Preferably, the filler contains paper. The tip segment may further contain an aerosol base material or a fragrance, etc. The tip segment may contain the compound represented by formula (1). When the aerosol product includes an aerosol generating segment in addition to the tip segment, and the aerosol generating segment further contains an aerosol generating segment filler, the concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) in the tip segment is 180 ppm or more, preferably 500 ppm or more, and preferably 8000 ppm or less, as a concentration relative to the aerosol generating segment filler. By including the compound represented by formula (1) in the tip segment, which is positioned differently from the aerosol-generating segment 110, it is possible to improve the flavor of the flavor components by incorporating the compound represented by formula (1) without hindering the heating efficiency of the flavor components contained in the aerosol-generating segment. If the tip segment contains an aerosol base material, the tip segment also constitutes a part of the aerosol-generating segment. By providing a tip segment, it is possible to suppress the spillage of the filling material from the aerosol-generating segment 110.
[0032] The cross-sectional shape of the tip segment is substantially circular, and the diameter of the circle can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product. The length of the tip segment in the longitudinal direction can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product, but is usually 3 mm or more and 15 mm or less, and preferably 5 mm or more and 10 mm or less.
[0033] <Mouthpiece Segment> As shown in Figure 2, the configuration of the mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited as long as it has the function of a general filter. For example, an acetate filter can be made by using cellulose acetate tow as the filter material 150 and winding the filter material 150 in a cylindrical shape with a filter wrapper (winding paper) 160. If the mouthpiece segment contains the compound represented by formula (1), the filter material 150 (filter) may also contain the compound represented by formula (1). In this case, the concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) can be the concentration relative to the total amount of the filter material 150. The concentration is preferably 3500 ppm or more, preferably 60000 ppm or less, and more preferably 40000 ppm or less. Within this concentration range, it contributes to reducing the aftertaste when using the aerosol product, or to enhancing the flavor (e.g., menthol) sensation. Furthermore, if the aerosol product includes an aerosol generating segment 110 in addition to the mouthpiece segment, and the aerosol generating segment further includes an aerosol generating segment packing 111, the concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) can also be expressed as the concentration relative to the aerosol generating segment packing. In this case, the concentration is 180 ppm or more, may be 500 ppm or more, but is preferably 8000 ppm or less, and more preferably 4000 ppm or less. Also, if the mouthpiece segment contains the compound represented by formula (1), and its constituent filter material 150 (filter) contains the compound represented by formula (1), the amount of compound represented by formula (1) added may be 0.05 to 2.50 mg, 0.07 to 2.30 mg, or 0.10 to 1.8 mg.
[0034] The single filament fineness and total fineness of the cellulose acetate toe are not particularly limited, but when the mouthpiece segment 130 has a circumference of 22 mm, the single filament fineness is preferably 5 to 20 g / 9000 m and the total fineness is preferably 12,000 to 30,000 g / 9000 m. The cross-sectional shape of the cellulose acetate toe fibers may be Y-shaped or R-shaped. When filling the cellulose acetate toe to form the mouthpiece segment 130, triacetin may be added at a rate of 5 to 10% by mass relative to the mass of the cellulose acetate toe to improve the filter hardness. In the example shown in Figure 2, the mouthpiece segment 130 is composed of a single segment, but the mouthpiece segment 130 may be composed of multiple segments. When the mouthpiece segment 130 is composed of multiple segments, for example, a center-hole filter such as a center hole can be placed as the upstream segment on the upstream side (aerosol generation segment 110 side), and an acetate filter with a mouthpiece cross-section filled with cellulose acetate tow can be placed as the downstream segment (mouthpiece end 101 side). This configuration prevents unnecessary loss of the generated aerosol and improves the appearance of the aerosol product 100. Alternatively, from the viewpoint of changes in the sensation of inhalation and comfort in the mouth, an acetate filter can be placed on the upstream side (aerosol generation segment 110 side), and a center-hole filter such as a center hole can be placed on the downstream segment (mouthpiece end 101 side). Furthermore, the mouthpiece segment 130 can also use other alternative filters as the filter material 150 instead of cellulose acetate tow, such as a paper filter filled with sheet-like pulp paper as the filter material 150.
[0035] The general functions of the filter in the mouthpiece segment 130 include, for example, adjusting the amount of air mixed when inhaling aerosols, reducing flavor, and reducing nicotine and tar; however, it is not necessary for the filter to have all of these functions. Furthermore, in electrically heated tobacco products, which tend to produce fewer components and have a lower filling rate for aerosol-generating segment fillers compared to cigarette products, preventing the aerosol-generating segment fillers from falling out while suppressing the filtration function is also an important function.
[0036] The cross-sectional shape of the mouthpiece segment 130 is substantially circular, and the diameter of the circle can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product, but is usually 4.0 mm or more and 9.0 mm or less, preferably 4.5 mm or more and 8.5 mm or less, and more preferably 5.0 mm or more and 8.0 mm or less. If the cross-section is not circular, the above diameter applies when assuming a circle with the same area as the area of the cross-section, and the diameter of that circle is applied. The circumference of the mouthpiece segment 130 can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product, but is usually 14.0 mm or more and 27.0 mm or less, preferably 15.0 mm or more and 26.0 mm or less, and more preferably 16.0 mm or more and 25.0 mm or less. The axial length of the mouthpiece segment 130 can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product, but is usually 5 mm or more and 35 mm or less, and is preferably 10.0 mm or more and 30.0 mm or less. The shape and dimensions of the filter media can be adjusted as appropriate so that the shape and dimensions of the mouthpiece segment 130 fall within the above range.
[0037] The airflow resistance per axial length of 120 mm of the mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited, but is typically 40 mmH. 2 O or more, 300mmH 2 It is less than 0 and 70 mmH 2 O or more, 280mmH 2 Preferably, it should be 0 or less, and 90 mmH 2 O or more, 260mmH 2 It is more preferable that the value be 0 or less.
[0038] Furthermore, the density of the filter material 150 in the mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited, but is usually 0.10 g / cm³. 3 Above, 0.25g / cm 3 The following is the value: 0.11 g / cm³ 3 Above, 0.24g / cm 3 Preferably, it is 0.12 g / cm³. 3 Above, 0.23g / cm 3 The following is more preferable: The mouthpiece segment 130 may be provided with a filter wrapper for winding filter material, etc., from the viewpoint of improving strength and structural rigidity. The form of the filter wrapper is not particularly limited and may include one or more seams containing adhesive. The adhesive may include a hot melt adhesive, and the hot melt adhesive may further contain polyvinyl alcohol. Also, if the mouthpiece segment 130 consists of two or more segments, it is preferable to wind these two or more segments together with a connecting filter wrapper (outer filter wrapper) in order to connect the segments. It is preferable that the filter wrapper is wound around these two or more segments together. The material of the filter wrapper in the mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited and known materials can be used, and it may also contain fillers such as calcium carbonate.
[0039] The thickness of the filter wrapper is not particularly limited, but is usually 20 μm or more and 140 μm or less, preferably 30 μm or more and 130 μm or less, and more preferably 30 μm or more and 120 μm or less. The basis weight of the filter wrapper is not particularly limited, but is usually 20 gsm or more and 100 gsm or less, preferably 22 gsm or more and 95 gsm or less, and more preferably 23 gsm or more and 90 gsm or less. The filter wrapper may or may not be coated, but from the viewpoint of providing functions other than strength and structural rigidity, it is preferable to coat it with a desired material.
[0040] If the mouthpiece segment 130 includes a center hole filter and an acetate filter, the center hole filter and the acetate filter may be connected, for example, by an outer filter wrapper. The outer filter wrapper can be, for example, a cylindrical piece of paper. The aerosol generating segment 110, the intermediate segment 120, and the mouthpiece segment 130 to which the center hole filter and acetate filter are connected may also be connected, for example, by tip paper 140. These connections can be made, for example, by applying an adhesive such as vinyl acetate adhesive to the inner surface of the tip paper 140, and then inserting the aerosol generating segment 110, the intermediate segment 120, and the mouthpiece segment 130 to which the center hole filter and acetate filter are connected and rolling it up. These connections may also be made in multiple steps using multiple connecting papers. For example, the aerosol generating segment 110 and the intermediate segment 120 may be pre-connected with a first connecting paper (first tip paper), and then they may be connected to the mouthpiece segment 130 with a second connecting paper (second tip paper).
[0041] The mouthpiece segment 130 may contain a crushable additive release container 170 (e.g., a capsule) inside, which includes a crushable outer shell made of gelatin or the like. The form of the capsule (also called the "additive release container" in the art) is not particularly limited, and known forms may be adopted, for example, it can be a crushable additive release container 170 including a crushable outer shell made of gelatin or the like. The form of the capsule is not particularly limited, and for example, it may be an easily breakable capsule, and its shape is preferably spherical. The additive contained in the capsule may include any of the above-mentioned additives, but it is particularly preferable to include a fragrance and activated carbon. For the fragrance, a fragrance composition described later can be used. In addition, one or more materials that help filter the smoke may be added as additives. The form of the additive is not particularly limited, but is usually liquid or solid. The use of capsules containing additives is well known in the art. Easily breakable capsules and methods for manufacturing them are well known in the art.
[0042] <Sheet material included in the mouthpiece segment> The filter included in the mouthpiece segment may consist of a segment having a filter medium 150 made of sheet material, which constitutes the mouthpiece segment 130. Examples of materials that constitute the sheet material include cellulose, polylactic acid, poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate), polylactic acid / polycaprolactone copolymer, polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid / polyether copolymer, butanediol / long-chain dicarboxylic acid copolymer, polybutylene adipate terephthalate, polytetramethylene adipate terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate succinate, polybutylene succinate, polybutylene succinate adipate, polyvinyl alcohol, etc., with cellulose being particularly preferred. A filter using a sheet material containing cellulose is also called a paper filter. The sheet material containing cellulose is typically paper made from pulp. The type of pulp is not particularly limited, and pulp from wood such as coniferous trees or deciduous trees can be used. Furthermore, the type of paper used as the filter material is not particularly limited, and gathered paper, pleated paper, crimped paper, crepe paper, nonwoven fabric, and even shredded paper can be used. In addition, the paper can be manufactured using either a wet or dry process, and can be selected as desired.
[0043] The air permeability of the sheet material is not particularly limited, but is preferably 3,000 cholesta units or more. There is no particular upper limit, but it is usually 40,000 cholesta units or less. An air permeability of 3,000 cholesta units or more is preferable from the viewpoint of further improving the phenol filtration capacity. The air permeability of the sheet material is more preferably 3,500 to 30,000 cholesta units, and even more preferably 10,000 to 25,000 cholesta units. To adjust the water filtration and air permeability of the sheet material to within the above ranges, the raw materials of the sheet material can be appropriately selected, or the manufacturing method can be adjusted. For example, the type of pulp, fiber length, and amount used as the raw material for the sheet material, as well as the type and amount of filler, can be adjusted, and the degree of beating during manufacturing, the papermaking method, and the press pressure can also be adjusted.
[0044] The form of the filter material can be a collection of sheet-like filter materials, and in the case of paper filters in particular, a form can be a collection of paper having a wave-shaped structure with multiple valleys and ridges. When paper having a wave-shaped structure is used, the orientation of the valleys (or ridges) in the longitudinal direction is arranged to be parallel to the longitudinal axis of the filter. When paper having the above-mentioned wave-shaped structure is used as the paper material constituting the paper filter, it is preferable that one or more sheets of material are crimped and folded in an overlapping manner so that the folds are substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, and then wound onto a mouthpiece wrapper. The crimp depth is preferably 0.1 mm to 1 mm, and more preferably 0.3 mm to 0.7 mm.
[0045] The thickness of the sheet material is not particularly limited, but is usually 20 μm or more, preferably 25 μm or more, more preferably 30 μm or more, and usually 140 μm or less, preferably 130 μm or less, and more preferably 120 μm or less. The basis weight of the sheet material is not particularly limited, but is usually 20 gsm or more, preferably 25 gsm or more, and usually 60 gsm or less, preferably 50 gsm or less, and more preferably 45 gsm or less. As an example, the thickness of the sheet material may be 60 μm to 80 μm. The basis weight of the sheet material may be 20 gsm to 30 gsm. The density of the sheet material is 0.25 to 0.4 g / cm³. 3 This may also be the case. The basis weight of the sheet material can be adjusted by adjusting the pulp content and filler content, or by adjusting the processing conditions of the wet paper machine used during papermaking.
[0046] The width of the raw material sheet is not particularly limited, but is usually 50 mm or more, preferably 100 mm or more, more preferably 170 mm or more, and also 300 mm or less, preferably 250 mm or less, and more preferably 230 mm or less. The width of the raw material sheet is the length in the direction perpendicular to the long axis in which the peaks and valleys of the corrugated paper are continuously arranged, or in other words, the length in the direction perpendicular to the direction corresponding to the long axis of the filter material obtained by processing the corrugated paper.
[0047] <Mouthpiece Segment Morphology and Shape> The mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited and can be a plain filter containing a single segment, or a multi-segment filter containing multiple segments such as a dual filter or triple filter having another segment. According to the filter of this embodiment, even a mouthpiece segment consisting of a single segment can sufficiently improve flavor. The shape of the filter constituting the mouthpiece segment is not particularly limited and can be a known shape, and can usually be cylindrical.
[0048] The cross-sectional shape of the mouthpiece segment in the direction perpendicular to the major axis is substantially circular, and the diameter of the circle can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product, but is usually 4.0 mm or more, preferably 4.5 mm or more, more preferably 5.0 mm or more, and usually 9.0 mm or less, preferably 8.5 mm or less, more preferably 8.0 mm or less. The length of the mouthpiece segment in the direction of the major axis can be appropriately changed according to the size of the product, but may be 5 mm or more, 10 mm or more, 15 mm or more, 17.5 mm or more, or 20.0 mm or more, and may also be 40 mm or less, 35 mm or less, 32.5 mm or less, or 30.0 mm or less. Furthermore, if the mouthpiece segment includes multiple segments, it is preferable that the total length in the direction of the major axis of those segments is within the range of the length in the direction of the major axis of the mouthpiece segment described above.
[0049] The airflow resistance per 120 mm along the long axis of the mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited, but is typically 50 mmH 2 0 mmH or higher, preferably 80 mmH 2 0 or more, more preferably 100 mmH 2 0 or higher, and normally 600 mmH 2 0 or less, preferably 300 mmH 2 0 or less, more preferably 200 mmH 2 It is less than or equal to 0. If the mouthpiece segment includes multiple segments, it is preferable that the total airflow resistance of those segments is within the range of the airflow resistance of the mouthpiece segment 130.
[0050] The airflow resistance of the filter can be measured according to the ISO standard method (ISO 6565), similar to the measurement of the airflow resistance of the aerosol products described above. It is known that, as with aerosol products, the relationship between filter airflow resistance and filter length is proportional within the commonly used length range (5 mm to 200 mm), meaning that if the length doubles, the filter's airflow resistance doubles as well.
[0051] If the mouthpiece segment 130 contains sheet material, the amount of sheet material filling depends on the size and shape of the mouthpiece segment 130. For example, if the mouthpiece segment is rod-shaped with a length of 20 mm in the long axis direction and a diameter of 7 mm, the amount is usually 50 mg to 500 mg, preferably 100 mg to 350 mg, and more preferably 130 mg to 250 mg. The filling density of the sheet material in the mouthpiece segment 130 is preferably 0.06 g / cm³. 3 ~0.65 g / cm 3 More preferably 0.13 g / cm³ 3 ~0.45 g / cm 3 , more preferably 0.17 g / cm³ 3 ~0.33 g / cm 3 That is the case.
[0052] <Mouthpiece Wrapper> The aerosol product of this embodiment may include a wrapper around which the filter material 150 is wound, and the wrapper may be an inner plug wrap. If the filter is a multi-segment filter, the inner plug wrap may wrap two or more segments individually or together. On the other hand, if two or more segments are wrapped individually with the inner plug wrap, the multiple segments may be fixed by an outer plug wrap. The material, thickness, weight, etc. of the outer plug wrap are not particularly limited, and the same paper as the inner plug wrap can be used. In this specification, the inner plug wrap and the outer plug wrap are collectively referred to as the mouthpiece wrapper 160. The form of the inner plug wrap is not particularly limited, and may include one or more seams containing adhesive. The adhesive may include a hot melt adhesive. The adhesive may also contain polyvinyl alcohol.
[0053] The material of the mouthpiece wrapper 160 is not particularly limited, and known materials can be used. The mouthpiece wrapper 160 may also contain fillers such as calcium carbonate. The thickness of the mouthpiece wrapper 160 is not particularly limited, but is usually 20 μm or more, preferably 30 μm or more, and usually 140 μm or less, preferably 130 μm or less, and more preferably 120 μm or less. The basis weight of the mouthpiece wrapper 160 is not particularly limited, but is usually 20 gsm or more, preferably 22 gsm or more, more preferably 23 gsm or more, and usually 100 gsm or less, preferably 95 gsm or less, and more preferably 90 gsm or less.
[0054] In this embodiment, the inner plug wrapper of the mouthpiece wrapper 160 preferably has a liquid-repellent layer in the area that comes into contact with the sheet material which is the filter medium. The liquid-repellent layer is a layer that repels liquids derived from additives, particularly liquid components that have phenol filtering ability (liquids that have phenol filtering ability). By providing a liquid-repellent layer at a specific location on the mouthpiece wrapper 160, especially the inner plug wrapper, it is possible to suppress the diffusion of liquid leaked from the additive during storage along the surface of the wrapper, thereby suppressing liquid leakage from the edges of the mouthpiece wrapper 160.
[0055] The mouthpiece wrapper 160 may consist only of a liquid-repellent layer, or it may have a base material and a liquid-repellent layer disposed on the surface of the base material. If the rolled paper has a base material and a liquid-repellent layer disposed on the surface of the base material, the mouthpiece wrapper 160 may be formed by laminating a coating agent containing a material that forms the liquid-repellent layer onto the surface of the base material by means of application, vapor deposition, etc., as described later. The base material is not particularly limited and can be known paper used for the mouthpiece wrapper 160, nonwoven fabric made of polymer fibers, liquid-repellent paper, etc.
[0056] The material used to form the liquid-repellent layer may be appropriately selected from polymers, metals, inorganic oxides, etc. The material used to form the liquid-repellent layer may be used alone, or two or more may be used in any combination and ratio. The mouthpiece wrapper 160 may be made of liquid-resistant paper, or it may be coated with polysaccharides.
[0057] When multiple segments are fixed with an outer plug wrap, the material, thickness, weight, etc. of the outer plug wrap are not particularly limited and can be the same as those for the roll paper described above. The liquid-repellent layer may be provided on at least a portion of the outer plug wrap.
[0058] <Intermediate Segment> The aerosol product 100 has an intermediate segment 120. The configuration of the intermediate segment 120 is not particularly limited as long as it has the function of cooling the vapor generated by heating the aerosol generating segment. For example, it can be made by processing cardboard into a cylindrical shape. In this case, the inside of the cylinder is hollow, and the vapor containing the aerosol base material and tobacco flavor components is cooled by contact with the air inside the cavity. The intermediate segment may contain the compound shown in formula (1). When the aerosol product includes an aerosol generating segment 110 in addition to the intermediate segment 120, and the aerosol generating segment further contains an aerosol generating segment filler 111, the concentration of the compound shown in formula (1) in the intermediate segment 120 is 180 ppm or more as a concentration relative to the aerosol generating segment filler, may be 500 ppm or more, but is preferably 8000 ppm or less, and more preferably 4000 ppm or less.
[0059] If the intermediate segment 120 contains the compound represented by formula (1), a desired amount of the compound can be incorporated into the intermediate segment 120 by spraying and / or coating it with a fragrance composition containing the compound. The compound represented by formula (1) may be present throughout the entire intermediate segment 120, or it may be unevenly distributed in the longitudinal or circumferential direction of the intermediate segment 120. From the viewpoint of the titer of the compound of formula (1), it is preferable that the compound be present on the upstream end side of the intermediate segment 120. Furthermore, if the intermediate segment 120 and the aerosol generating segment 110 are arranged adjacent to each other, it is preferable that the compound be unevenly distributed in the intermediate segment 120 in the region adjacent to the aerosol generating segment 110 (particularly, if there is an opening described later, on the upstream end side of that opening). Also, as described later, if the intermediate segment 120 is formed by laminating multiple sheets of paper, it is preferable that the compound be present on the inner surface of the intermediate segment 120.
[0060] One embodiment of the intermediate segment 120 is a paper tube made by processing a single sheet of paper or multiple sheets of paper glued together into a cylindrical shape. Furthermore, it is preferable that there are openings around the paper tube or the like for introducing outside air in order to increase the cooling effect by bringing outside air at room temperature into contact with high-temperature steam. The intermediate segment 120 is provided with openings 103 for taking in outside air. The number of openings 103 in the intermediate segment 120 is not particularly limited.
[0061] <Chip Paper> The material of the chip paper 140 connecting two or more selected from the aerosol generating segment 110, the intermediate segment 120, and the mouthpiece segment 130 is not particularly limited, and known materials can be used. The chip paper 140 may also contain fillers such as calcium carbonate. As the chip paper 140, for example, paper mainly composed of pulp, metal foil, laminated paper of paper and metal foil, or metallized paper can be used. The chip paper 140 may be single-layered or multi-layered. In particular, the aforementioned wrapping paper (wrapper) 112 may be used as the chip paper. Furthermore, at least a part of the chip paper 140 may be provided with a liquid-repellent layer or a liquid-resistant layer similar to the liquid-repellent layer that the mouthpiece wrapper may have.
[0062] In this embodiment, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the segments are not limited to those that exist continuously in the longitudinal direction, but also include embodiments in which there are no segments other than the segment in contact with the intake end of the filter, that is, embodiments in which there are gaps (also called cavities) between segments. Such cavities can be formed by molding the above-mentioned molded paper or chip paper into a cylindrical shape, but in this case, it is not necessarily required that the molded paper or the like that forming the cavity has a liquid-repellent layer.
[0063] <Non-combustion type aerosol generation system> The aerosol product 100 described above can be used together with a non-combustion type aerosol generation device that heats the aerosol product 100. That is, a non-combustion type aerosol generation system (also simply called the "non-combustion type aerosol generation system"), which is another embodiment of the present invention, is a non-combustion type aerosol generation system comprising the aerosol product described above and a non-combustion type aerosol generation device that heats the aerosol product. The configuration of the non-combustion type aerosol generation system is not particularly limited and can be configured as shown in Figure 3, for example. Figure 3 is a diagram illustrating the internal structure of the non-combustion type aerosol generation system 200. The aerosol product 100 in Figure 3 is a schematic representation of the aerosol product 100 in Figure 1.
[0064] The non-combustible aerosol generation system 200 comprises an aerosol product 100 and a non-combustible aerosol generation device 30 that heats the aerosol generation segment 110 of the aerosol product 100. The aerosol product 100 is housed in a housing section 310 that can be inserted into and removed from the housing section 310 through an insertion port 3A of the non-combustible aerosol generation device 30.
[0065] In the non-combustion type aerosol generating device 30, when used by a user, the aerosol product 100 is inserted into the housing section 310. In this state, a heater provided in the housing section 310 is heated, and the flavor source within the aerosol product 100 is heated, thereby generating an aerosol containing components such as tobacco for the user to inhale. Alternatively, the heater may directly heat the aerosol generating segment 110, or it may heat the aerosol source within the aerosol product 100, supplying the heated aerosol to the aerosol generating segment 110, and the heated aerosol further heats the tobacco components within the aerosol generating segment 110 for the user to inhale. The heater may also heat the aerosol generating segment 110 from the outside or from the inside. If a susceptor heated by induction heating is provided within the aerosol generating segment 110, the non-combustion type aerosol generating device 30 may be provided with an induction coil instead of a heater.
[0066] The non-combustion type aerosol generating device 30 has an outer wall 301 and a housing 31 which is a casing for housing various components. Inside the housing 31 are a heater 32, a temperature sensor 35, a suction sensor 36, a control unit 37, a power supply 38, and the like.
[0067] (Embodiment 2) An e-cigarette device according to Embodiment 2 may be exemplified by comprising, as components, at least a container for holding liquid, liquid disposed in the container, and means for vaporizing the liquid. In Embodiment 2, the liquid disposed in the container can be cited as a component containing the compound represented by formula (1). The concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) in this liquid is 180 ppm or more, may be 500 ppm or more, and is preferably 8000 ppm or less. The liquid can be the same as the aerosol substrate mentioned in Embodiment 1.
[0068] (Embodiment 3) The low-temperature heating device of Embodiment 3 comprises, as components, at least a container in which an aerosol substrate is placed, a container in which a material containing tobacco components and / or other flavoring components is placed, and means for heating the aerosol substrate at a low temperature. Preferably, the aerosol substrate heated at a low temperature passes through the container in which the material containing tobacco components and / or other flavoring components is placed, thereby transferring the tobacco components and / or other flavoring components to the aerosol substrate and delivering them to the user. The heating means may also heat the container in which the material containing tobacco components and / or other flavoring components is placed, along with the aerosol substrate. The compound represented by formula (1) only needs to be contained in at least one of the container in which the aerosol substrate is placed and the container in which the material containing tobacco components and / or other flavoring components is placed. The concentration of the compound represented by formula (1) is preferably 180 ppm or more, 500 ppm or more, and 8000 ppm or less, relative to the aerosol substrate in the container where the aerosol substrate is placed, or relative to the material containing the tobacco component and / or other flavoring components. The aerosol substrate in Embodiment 3 can be the same as the aerosol substrate mentioned in Embodiment 1.
[0069] The aerosol product may contain any fragrance composition. The fragrance composition may contain one or more fragrances. Alternatively, the fragrance composition may contain one or more fragrances and an aerosol base material. Furthermore, the fragrance composition may contain the compound represented by formula (1). If the fragrance composition contains the compound represented by formula (1), its concentration should be adjusted to fall within the concentration range of each component described above. The aerosol base material may be the one described above, or it may be ethanol, water, etc. The fragrance composition may also contain emulsifiers, stabilizers, antioxidants, pH adjusters, etc.
[0070] The fragrance composition may be included in any component (or segment) and / or filler material of the aerosol product. For example, it may be included in the aerosol generating segment. When the fragrance composition is included in the aerosol generating segment, for example, the fragrance composition may be added in any proportion and amount to the aforementioned chopped material, homogenization sheet, or a filler material obtained by mixing them in any ratio. By adding these fragrance compositions to the aerosol generating segment, the flavor of the aerosol generated from the aerosol generating segment can be adjusted, improving the user experience. The fragrance composition may also be added to any desired segment other than the aerosol generating segment. For example, the fragrance composition may be added to the tip segment, the middle segment, or the mouthpiece segment. In particular, when the fragrance composition is incorporated into the mouthpiece segment, the fragrance composition may be included in the filter material, or in an additive release container, etc.
[0071] While there are no particular restrictions on the fragrances used, examples include menthol, tobacco leaf extract, natural plant-based fragrances (e.g., cinnamon, sage, herbs, chamomile, kudzu, sweet tea, clove, lavender, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, bergamot, geranium, honey essence, rose oil, lemon, orange, cinnamon, caraway, jasmine, ginger, coriander, vanilla extract, spearmint, peppermint, cassia, coffee, celery, cascarilla, sandalwood, cocoa, ylang-ylang, fennel, anise, licorice, St. John's bread, plum extract, peach extract, etc.), and sugars (e.g., glucose, fructose). Examples include toxin, isomerized sugar, caramel, etc.), cocoa (powder, extract, etc.), esters (e.g., isoamyl acetate, linalyl acetate, isoamyl propionate, linalyl butyrate, etc.), ketones (e.g., menthone, ionone, damascenone, ethyl maltol, etc.), alcohols (e.g., geraniol, linalool, anethole, eugenol, etc.), aldehydes (e.g., vanillin, benzaldehyde, anisaldehyde, etc.), lactones (e.g., γ-undecalactone, γ-nonalactone, etc.), animal-derived fragrances (e.g., musk, ambergris, civet, castorium, etc.), and hydrocarbons (e.g., limonene, pinene, etc.).
[0072] In addition to the above-mentioned fragrances, or separately from the above-mentioned fragrances, fragrances known as cooling fragrances may also be used. Cooling fragrances are fragrances that directly act on the sensory nerves that control the sensation of cold to produce a cooling sensation, and more specifically, they contain compounds that can act as agonists of TRPM8 expressed in sensory nerves. Examples of cooling fragrances include one or more selected from the group consisting of plants of the genus *Mint* in the Lamiaceae family, extracts of plants of the genus *Mint* in the Lamiaceae family, menthol, ishirin, (1R,2S,5R)-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-2-(propan-2-yl)cyclohexane-1-carboxamide (product name: WS-12), N-ethyl-2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanecarboxamide (product name: WS-3), ethyl 2-[[(1R,2S,5R)-5-methyl-2-propan-2-ylcyclohexanecarbonyl]amino]acetate (product name: WS-5), and ethyl 2-[(5-methyl-2-propan-2-ylcyclohexanecarbonyl)amino]propanoate (product name: CPS-369), with plants of the genus *Mint* in the Lamiaceae family, extracts of plants of the genus *Mint* in the Lamiaceae family, and menthol being preferred. Examples of extracts from plants belonging to the genus *Mint* in the Lamiaceae family include mint oil obtained by known methods from the seeds of the above-mentioned plants belonging to the genus *Mint* in the Lamiaceae family.
[0073] These fragrance compositions may be used in solid form, or they may be dissolved or dispersed in a suitable solvent, such as propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, or triethyl citrate, in addition to or separately from the above-mentioned aerosol substrate. Preferably, fragrance compositions that readily form a dispersed state in the solvent upon addition of an emulsifier, such as hydrophobic fragrance compositions or oil-soluble fragrance compositions, can be used. These fragrance compositions may be used alone or in mixtures. The amount of the fragrance composition is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of imparting a good flavor, the content in each component may be 0.1% or more by weight relative to the total weight of each component (or segment) of the aerosol product, and may also be 20.0% or less by weight.
[0074] As the fragrance composition, a fragrance-containing material in which the fragrance is encapsulated in a polysaccharide gel may be used. The fragrance contained in the fragrance-containing material may be the fragrances mentioned above, and may also contain the compound represented by formula (1). If the compound represented by formula (1) is included, its concentration should be adjusted to fall within the concentration range of each component described above. By incorporating the fragrance-containing material into at least one component of the aerosol product, variations in the amount of fragrance delivered from puff to puff are suppressed from the initial to the later stages of use, and a good flavor can be continuously obtained.
[0075] The content of the fragrance composition in the fragrance-containing material is, for example, usually 18% by mass or more and usually 90% by mass or less (depending on the type of fragrance, type of polysaccharide, etc.). The gel may be made of thickening polysaccharides, cellulose derivatives, gums, etc. The content of the fragrance-containing material in the aerosol-generating segment may be, for example, usually 1% by mass or more and usually 20% by mass or less relative to the filler (depending on the fragrance content in the fragrance-containing material).
[0076] The above-mentioned fragrance-containing material may be placed, for example, on the inside and / or outside of the wrapper 112 around which the aerosol-generating segment filler 111 is wrapped, or the wrapper 112 may be impregnated or coated with the fragrance-containing material before drying, or the fragrance-containing material before drying or after drying may be incorporated into the aerosol-generating segment filler 111. Alternatively, the fragrance-containing composition, once dried, may be chopped or pulverized and mixed with other fillers.
[0077] The present invention will be further described in detail by examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following examples unless it exceeds the gist of the invention.
[0078] <Aerosol Product> A commercially available electric heating type aerosol product was prepared as the aerosol product. Its configuration is shown in Figure 1. The aerosol generating segment filling that constitutes the aerosol generating segment 110 is made of chopped sheet material containing tobacco raw materials, and its weight is 254 mg in Examples 1 to 7 and 261 mg in Examples 8 to 31. Menthol was added to the aerosol generating segment filling in Examples 8 to 31. The aerosol generating segment has a cylindrical shape with a length of 20 mm and a diameter of 7 mm. The intermediate segment 120 is made of a cylindrical paper tube with a length of 20 mm and a diameter of 7 mm. The mouthpiece segment 130 is made of a center hole filter and an acetate filter, and the aerosol generating segment 110, the intermediate segment 120, the center hole filter and acetate filter are connected by tip paper 140. The mouthpiece segment 130 is cylindrical with a length of 20 mm and a diameter of 7 mm. The weight of the acetate filter is 33.1 mg. Furthermore, a commercially available Ploom X ADVANCED™ was used as the electric heating device.
[0079] <Experimental Examples 1-7> 0.026-2.042 mg (corresponding to 100-8000 ppm by weight of the aerosol-generating segment filler) of vanillyl ethyl ether (a compound with 2 carbon atoms in R in formula (1)) was injected into the aerosol-generating segment filler of the above aerosol products, and a sensory evaluation was conducted comparing the menthol sensation with a reference stick (aerosol product without added vanillyl ethyl ether). Nineteen individuals who are routinely engaged in fragrance development were selected as panelists, and each panelist answered which of the selected sample or the reference was stronger. The results of the sensory evaluation were assessed using the method described below. Null hypothesis: The probability of selecting the reference and the sample is equal (i.e., the probability of selecting each is 50%). Under this null hypothesis, the number of people surveyed who felt that the sample had a cleaner fragrance (less lingering aftertaste) follows a binomial distribution B(19, 0.5). p-value: Table 1 below shows the probability evaluation results for the number of people who, under the null hypothesis, would respond that "the sample had a cleaner fragrance (less lingering aftertaste)" than the results obtained in this study. The obtained results are analyzed using a binomial test (significance level 5%). A p-value below 0.05 is considered statistically significant.
[0080] <Experimental Examples 8-13> Vanillyl ethyl ether in amounts ranging from 0.026 to 2.042 mg (corresponding to 100 to 8000 ppm on a weight basis of the aerosol-generating segment filler) was injected into the filters of the above aerosol products to which menthol sensation was compared with that of a reference stick. The panel consisted of 18 individuals who are routinely engaged in fragrance development, as in Experimental Examples 1-7, and each panelist responded whether the selected sample or the reference had a stronger menthol sensation. The results of the sensory evaluation were assessed using the method shown below. Null hypothesis: The probability of choosing the reference and the sample is equal (i.e., the probability of each being selected is 50%). Under this null hypothesis, the number of people who answered that they felt the sample had a stronger menthol sensation when surveyed by 18 people follows a binomial distribution B(18, 0.5). p-value: The probability that more people than the results obtained here will answer that they "feel the sample has a stronger menthol sensation" under the null hypothesis. The results are shown in Table 2 below. Table 2-1 shows the concentration of vanillyl ethyl ether as a percentage of the aerosol-generating segment packing, and Table 2-2 shows the concentration of vanillyl ethyl ether as a percentage of the filter. The obtained results were analyzed using a binomial test (significance level 5%), and a p-value below 0.05 was considered statistically significant, as in experiments 1-7.
[0081] <Experimental Examples 14-20> Vanillyl ethyl ether was injected into the aerosol-generating segment filler of the above aerosol product with added menthol, ranging from 0.026 to 2.042 mg (corresponding to 100 to 8000 ppm by weight of the aerosol-generating segment filler), and the sensation of menthol was compared with that of a reference stick. The panel consisted of 18 individuals who are routinely engaged in fragrance development, as in Experimental Examples 8-13, and each panelist responded on which was stronger, the selected sample or the reference. The results of the sensory evaluation were assessed using the same method as in Experimental Examples 8-13. The results are shown in Table 3 below. The obtained results were analyzed using a binomial test (significance level 5%), and a p-value below 0.05 was considered statistically significant, as in Experiments 1-7.
[0082] <Experimental Examples 21-27> Vanillyl butyl ether (a compound with 4 carbon atoms in R in formula (1)) was injected into the aerosol-generating segment filler of the above aerosol product with added menthol, ranging from 0.026 to 2.042 mg (corresponding to 100 to 8000 ppm by weight of the aerosol-generating segment filler), and the sensation of menthol was compared with that of a reference stick. The panel consisted of 20 individuals who are routinely engaged in fragrance development, as in Experimental Examples 8-13, and each panelist answered which of the selected sample or the reference was stronger. The results of the sensory evaluation were assessed using the same method as in Experimental Examples 8-13. The results are shown in Table 4 below. The obtained results were analyzed using a binomial test (significance level 5%), and a p-value below 0.05 was considered statistically significant, as in Experiments 1-7.
[0083] <Experimental Examples 28-31> A mixture of vanillyl ethyl ether (VEE) and vanillyl butyl ether (VBE) in amounts of 0.016-0.094 mg (corresponding to 60-360 ppm by weight of the aerosol-generating segment filler) was injected into the aerosol-generating segment filler of the above aerosol product with added menthol, and the sensation of menthol was compared with that of a reference stick. The panel consisted of 18 individuals who are routinely engaged in fragrance development, as in Experimental Examples 8-13, and each panelist answered which of the selected sample or the reference was stronger. The sensory evaluation results were assessed using the same method as in Experimental Examples 8-13. The results are shown in Table 5 below. The obtained results were analyzed using a binomial test (significance level 5%), and a p-value below 0.05 was considered statistically significant, as in Experiments 1-7.
