[0008] Hereinafter, as modes for carrying out the present invention, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

[0009] Figure 1 shows a component mounting machine 10. The component mounting machine 10 is a device for mounting components onto a circuit board 12. The component mounting machine 10 comprises a main unit 20, a substrate transport and holding device 22, a component mounting device 24, a mark camera 26, a parts camera 28, a loose component supply device 30, a component supply device 32, and a control device (see Figure 16) 36. The circuit board 12 can be a circuit board, a three-dimensional structured substrate, etc., and the circuit board can be a printed wiring board, a printed circuit board, etc.

[0010] The main body of the device 20 is composed of a frame 40 and a beam 42 suspended on the frame 40. The substrate transport and holding device 22 is located in the center of the frame 40 in the front-rear direction and has a transport device 50 and a clamping device 52. The transport device 50 is a device for transporting the circuit substrate 12, and the clamping device 52 is a device for holding the circuit substrate 12. As a result, the substrate transport and holding device 22 transports the circuit substrate 12 and also holds the circuit substrate 12 fixedly in a predetermined position. In the following description, the transport direction of the circuit substrate 12 is referred to as the X direction, the horizontal direction perpendicular to that direction is referred to as the Y direction, and the vertical direction is referred to as the Z direction. In other words, the width direction of the component mounting machine 10 is the X direction, and the front-rear direction is the Y direction.

[0011] The component mounting device 24 is mounted on the beam 42 and has two work heads 60 and 62 and a work head moving device 64. As shown in Figure 2, a suction nozzle 66 is provided on the lower end surface of each work head 60 and 62, and the component is held by the suction nozzle 66. The suction nozzle 66 can be raised and lowered in a controllable manner by the operation of a lifting device (see Figure 16) 67. The work head moving device 64 has an X-direction moving device 68, a Y-direction moving device 70, and a Z-direction moving device 72. The X-direction moving device 68 and the Y-direction moving device 70 each have an electromagnetic motor (not shown), and the operation of each electromagnetic motor moves the two work heads 60 and 62 together to any position on the frame 40. The work heads 60 and 62 are detachably mounted on sliders 74 and 76, and the Z-direction moving device 72 moves the sliders 74 and 76 individually in the vertical direction. In other words, the work heads 60 and 62 are individually moved vertically by the Z-axis movement device 72.

[0012] The mark camera 26 is mounted on the slider 74 facing downwards and is moved in the X, Y, and Z directions together with the work head 60. This allows the mark camera 26 to capture images of any position on the frame 40. The part camera 28, as shown in Figure 1, is positioned facing upwards between the substrate transport and holding device 22 and the part supply device 32 on the frame 40. This allows the part camera 28 to capture images of parts held by the suction nozzles 66 of the work heads 60 and 62.

[0013] The loose parts supply device 30 is located at one end of the frame 40 in the front-rear direction. The loose parts supply device 30 is a device that aligns multiple parts that are scattered loosely and supplies the parts in an aligned state. In other words, it is a device that aligns multiple parts in any orientation to a predetermined orientation and supplies the parts in that predetermined orientation.

[0014] The component supply device 32 is located at the other end of the frame 40 in the front-rear direction. The component supply device 32 includes a tray-type component supply device 78 and a feeder-type component supply device 80. The tray-type component supply device 78 is a device that supplies components in a state where they are placed on a tray. The feeder-type component supply device 80 is a device that supplies components by a stick feeder 82. The stick feeder 82 will be described in detail below. The components supplied by the loose component supply device 30 and the component supply device 32 include electronic circuit components, solar cell components, power module components, etc. Furthermore, electronic circuit components include components with leads and components without leads.

[0015] The stick feeder 82 is detachably mounted on a feeder holder 86 which is fixedly provided at the other end of the frame 40. The stick feeder 82 is a device that pushes out electronic circuit components from component storage sticks (see Figure 3) 88 and supplies the pushed-out electronic circuit components at the component supply position.

[0016] As shown in Figure 3, the component housing stick 88 is composed of a stick case 90 and a plurality of lead components 92. As shown in Figure 4, the lead component 92 is composed of a component body 96 and four leads 98 extending in the same direction from one side surface of the component body 96. The stick case 90 is made of resin and is a hollow stick shape. In other words, the stick case 90 is a tube shape with openings at both ends. The internal shape of the stick case 90 is approximately the same as the shape of the lead component 92, and the internal dimensions of the stick case 90 are slightly larger than the external dimensions of the lead component 92. The plurality of lead components 92 are housed in a line inside the stick case 90. As a result, the lead components 92 move along the axial direction of the stick case 90 with almost no rattling inside the stick case 90. The lead components 92 are housed inside the stick case 90 with the leads 98 extended in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the lead component 92.

[0017] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, the stick feeder 82 is composed of a feeder body 100, a stick holding unit 102, a parts transport unit 104, a bending unit 106, and a parts feeding device 108. The stick feeder 82 feeds out lead parts 92 from a parts-containing stick 88 held by the stick holding unit 102, and supplies the leads 98 of the fed-out lead parts 92 in a bent state by the bending unit 106. The side of the stick feeder 82 where the bending unit 106 is located is referred to as the front side, and the side where the stick holding unit 102 is located is referred to as the rear side.

[0018] More specifically, the feeder body 100 is mounted on a feeder holder 86 provided at the end of the frame 40 of the component mounting machine 10. When the feeder body 100 is mounted on the feeder holder 86, the front portion of the feeder body 100 where the bending unit 106 is located is inside the component mounting machine 10, and the rear portion of the feeder body 100 where the stick holding portion 102 is located is outside the component mounting machine 10.

[0019] The stick holding section 102 is composed of a pair of clamping members 110 and 112 and a holding device 114. One of the pair of clamping members 110 and 112, the clamping member 110, is erected on the upper surface of the rear end of the feeder body 100, and the other clamping member 112 is erected on the upper surface of the generally central part of the feeder body 100. The pair of clamping members 110 and 112 face each other, and a plurality of component storage sticks 88 are arranged on the upper surface of the feeder body 100 in a substantially horizontal stacked state between the pair of clamping members 110 and 112.

[0020] The holding device 114 is a device for fixedly holding a plurality of component storage sticks 88 disposed between a pair of clamping members 110 and 112, and includes a first holding mechanism (not shown) and a second holding mechanism (not shown). The first holding mechanism fixedly holds the bottom component storage stick 88 of the plurality of component storage sticks 88 stacked between the pair of clamping members 110 and 112. When the holding of the component storage stick 88 by the first holding mechanism is released, the component storage stick 88 detaches downward from the feeder body 100 through a hole (not shown) formed on the upper surface of the feeder body 100.

[0021] Furthermore, the second holding mechanism holds the second-to-last component storage stick 88 from among the multiple component storage sticks 88 stacked between the pair of clamping members 110 and 112, in a state separated from the bottommost component storage stick 88, and also holds the component storage stick 88 stacked on top of the second component storage stick 88. When the first holding mechanism releases its grip on the component storage stick 88, and the component storage stick 88 moves away from the feeder body 100, and then the second holding mechanism releases its grip on the component storage stick 88, the second-to-last component storage stick 88 moves downward and is held fixedly by the first holding mechanism. The third and subsequent component storage sticks 88 are then held fixedly by the second holding mechanism in a state where they have moved downward one level at a time.

[0022] As shown in Figures 6 to 8, the parts transport section 104 is composed of a path body 120 and a lid 122. Figure 7 shows the parts transport section 104 with the lid 122 removed, and Figure 8 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA in Figure 6. The path body 120 is generally a rectangular bar-shaped member, and a transport groove 123 is formed on the upper surface of the path body 120 so as to extend in the axial direction. The transport groove 123 opens on both end faces of the path body 120, and the inner dimensions of the transport groove 123 are slightly larger than the outer dimensions of the lead parts 92 housed in the parts storage stick 88.

[0023] Furthermore, the lid 122 is a flat plate-shaped member and is fixed to the path body 120 so as to cover the transport groove 123 of the path body 120. The path body 120 is fixed to the upper surface of the feeder body 100 in a position that extends in the front-rear direction. The path body 120 is fixed to the upper surface of the feeder body 100 such that the rear opening of the transport groove 123 of the path body 120 faces the front opening of the stick case 90 of the lowest component storage stick 88 among the multiple component storage sticks 88 held by the stick holding part 102. As a result, the inside of the stick case 90 of the component storage stick 88 and the transport groove 123 of the path body 120 are in communication. In addition, the path body 120 is parallel to its lowest component storage stick 88.

[0024] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 8 to 11, the bending unit 106 includes a transport stage 130, a holding device 132, and a bending device 134. The transport stage 130 is positioned on the upper surface of the feeder body 100 on the front side of the front end of the parts transport section 104 and is movable in the front-rear direction. The upper surface of the transport stage 130 is at the same height as the bottom surface of the transport groove 123 of the path body 120, and the transport stage 130 moves in the front-rear direction so that the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is maintained at the same height as the bottom surface of the transport groove 123 of the path body 120. The transport stage 130 moves between a communication position where it moves to the rear and the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is in communication with the front opening of the transport groove 123 of the path body 120, and a separation position where it moves to the front and the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is separated from the front opening of the transport groove 123 of the path body 120. Note that the position of the transport stage 130 in Figures 8 and 9 is the communication position, and the position of the transport stage 130 in Figures 10 and 11 is the separated position. Furthermore, the transport stage 130 can be controlled to move between the communication position and the separated position by the operation of the air cylinder 136.

[0025] Furthermore, the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is generally rectangular. A wall surface 138 is erected on the front side edge of the upper surface of the transport stage 130, extending upward from the upper surface of the transport stage 130. On the other hand, a generally block-shaped stopper 140 is provided on the rear side edge of the transport stage 130. The stopper 140 is supported by the transport stage 130 so as to be able to move up and down, and the upper end of the stopper 140 moves up and down between a protruding position extending upward from the upper surface of the transport stage 130 and a retracted position retracted below the upper surface of the transport stage 130. The stopper 140 is biased upward by the elastic force of a compression coil spring (not shown). Therefore, the stopper 140 is normally in the protruding position due to the elastic force of the compression coil spring. Then, the stopper 140 descends to the retracted position by being pushed downward against the elastic force of the compression coil spring. The upper surface of the stopper 140 is a tapered surface 142. The tapered surface 142 is an inclined surface that slopes downwards towards the rear.

[0026] Furthermore, in addition to the pair of opposing side edges on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 where the wall surface 138 and stopper 140 are located, wall surfaces 146 and 148 are erected, extending upward from the upper surface of the transport stage 130. In this way, the four side edges of the upper surface of the transport stage 130 are surrounded by the wall surfaces 138, 146, 148 and stopper 140. The inner dimensions of the upper surface of the transport stage 130 surrounded by the wall surfaces 138, 146, 148 and stopper 140 are made slightly larger than the outer dimensions of the main body 96 of the lead part 92. Therefore, it is possible to place the main body 96 of the lead part 92 on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 surrounded by the wall surfaces 138, 146, 148 and stopper 140. As will be explained in more detail later, when the main body 96 of the lead component 92 is placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130, the leads 98 of the lead component 92 extend outwards from above the upper end of the wall surface 148. At this time, the amount of extension of the wall surface 148 from the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is adjusted so that there is a small clearance between the leads 98 of the lead component 92 and the upper end of the wall surface 148.

[0027] The pressing device 132 is composed of a device body 150, a rotation shaft 152, a swing arm 154, a press 156, and an air cylinder (see Figure 16) 158. The device body 150 is fixed to the upper surface of the feeder body 100 so as to face the wall surface 146 of the transport stage 130, which is moving to a separated position. The rotation shaft 152 is held by the device body 150 so as to be able to move up and down and rotate in a position that extends in the vertical direction. The swing arm 154 is fixed to the upper end of the rotation shaft 152 at one end of the swing arm 154 in a position that generally extends in the horizontal direction. On the other hand, the press 156 is fixed to the other end of the swing arm 154 so as to extend downward. The air cylinder 158 is built into the device body 150 and is connected to the rotation shaft 152 via a link mechanism (not shown). As a result, the rotation axis 152 can be controlled to move up and down and rotate by the operation of the air cylinder 158. When the rotation axis 152 moves by the operation of the air cylinder 158, the swing arm 154 swings between a retracted position (shown in Figure 11) where the other end of the swing arm 154 faces backward and a pushed position (shown in Figure 12) where the other end of the swing arm 154 is positioned above the transport stage 130 in a separated position. Furthermore, when the rotation axis 152 moves up and down by the operation of the air cylinder 158, the swing arm 154 moves up and down in the pushed position. Therefore, when the swing arm 154, which has swung to the pushed position, descends, the pusher 156 fixed to the other end of the swing arm 154 descends toward the upper surface of the transport stage 130.

[0028] The bending device 134 is composed of a bending arm 160, a link mechanism 162, a bending tool 164, and an air cylinder (see Figure 16) 166. The bending arm 160 is generally "L" shaped and is positioned on the upper surface of the feeder body 100 so as to face the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130, which is moving to a spaced-away position. The bending arm 160 is positioned so as to be able to swing around an axis 168 that extends in the front-rear direction on the upper surface of the feeder body 100 via the link mechanism 162 near the center of the bending arm 160. One end of the bending arm 160 extends upward toward the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130 at the spaced-away position, and the bending tool 164 is fixed to this end of the bending arm 160. The bending tool 164 is generally block-shaped, and a stepped portion 170 is formed on one side of the block-shaped bending tool 164, cut out at a right angle. The bending tool 164 is fixed to one end of the bending arm 160 such that the stepped portion 170 faces the upper end of the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130 when it is separated from the upper end. The air cylinder 166 is connected to the other end of the bending arm 160, and the bending arm 160 swings around the axis 168 when the air cylinder 166 is operated. At this time, the bending arm 160 swings between a bent position where the stepped portion 170 of the bending tool 164 contacts the upper end of the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130 (position of the bending arm 160 in Figure 13) and a retracted position where the stepped portion 170 of the bending tool 164 is separated from the upper end of the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130 (position of the bending arm 160 in Figure 11).

[0029] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, the parts feeding device 108 is composed of a wire 180 and an electromagnetic motor (see Figure 16) 182. The wire 180 is flexible and extends downward from inside the feeder body 100. The wire 180 extending downward from the feeder body 100 extends toward the rear of the feeder body 100 and curves toward the rear end of the feeder body 100 at the rear of the feeder body 100. The tip of the wire 180 is then inserted into the inside of the feeder body 100 from the rear end of the feeder body 100. The wire 180 inserted into the inside of the feeder body 100 is then inserted into the inside of the lowest part storage stick 88 of the multiple part storage sticks 88 stacked between a pair of clamping members 110 and 112 through the opening at the rear end of that part storage stick 88.

[0030] Furthermore, two rollers (not shown) are provided inside the feeder body 100, and the wire 180 inserted into the feeder body 100 is gripped by these two rollers. When the two rollers rotate due to the operation of the electromagnetic motor 182, the wire 180 gripped by the two rollers is fed out. At this time, the wire 180 inserted inside the component storage stick 88 moves forward inside the component storage stick 88.

[0031] In a stick feeder 82 with this structure, the wire 180 moves forward inside the component storage stick 88, pushing the lead components 92 stored in the component storage stick 88 toward the component transport section 104. As a result, the lead components 92 are pushed out from the opening at the front end of the component storage stick 88 into the transport groove 123 of the component transport section 104. Furthermore, as the wire 180 enters the inside of the component storage stick 88, the lead components 92 are sequentially pushed out from the component storage stick 88 into the transport groove 123 of the component transport section 104. At this time, as shown in Figure 8, multiple lead components 92 are transported in contact and connected within the transport groove 123. Note that as the wire 180 moves forward, the tip of the wire 180 enters the inside of the transport groove 123 via the component storage stick 88. The lead components 92 are transported in a sideways position within the transport groove 123. The sideways position of the lead component 92 is a position in which the lead 98 extends in one of the left-right directions perpendicular to the transport direction of the lead component 92.

[0032] Furthermore, when the lead parts 92 are transported inside the transport groove 123, the transport stage 130 moves to a communication position by the operation of the air cylinder 136, and the opening at the front end of the transport groove 123 of the parts transport section 104 communicates with the upper surface of the transport stage 130. Then, as the wire 180 further enters the inside of the parts storage stick 88, the leading lead part 92 of the multiple connected lead parts 92 is pushed out from the opening at the front end of the transport groove 123 toward the upper surface of the transport stage 130. At this time, the stopper 140 disposed on the rear side edge of the transport stage 130 moves to a protruding position, and the lead part 92 comes into contact with the tapered surface 142 of the stopper 140. As a result, a force pushing forward acts on the tapered surface 142, but since the tapered surface 142 is inclined upward as it goes forward, the force pushing forward on the tapered surface 142 is converted into a force pushing downward on the tapered surface 142. As a result, the stopper 140 descends against the elastic force of the coil spring, moving the stopper 140 to the exit position. This causes the lead part 92, which was pushed out from the opening at the front end of the transport groove 123, to be transferred to the upper surface of the transport stage 130. Once the lead part 92 is transferred to the upper surface of the transport stage 130, the downward force acting on the stopper 140 ceases, and the stopper 140 moves to the protruding position due to the elastic force of the coil spring. As a result, the part body 96 of the lead part 92 is housed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130, surrounded by the walls 138, 146, 148 and the stopper 140. Since the lead part 92 is transported in a sideways position inside the transport groove 123, when the part body 96 of the lead part 92 is housed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130, the lead 98 of the lead part 92 extends laterally from the upper surface of the transport stage 130, passing over the walls 148.

[0033] Furthermore, a detection sensor (see Figure 16) 190 is positioned on the side of the upper surface of the transport stage 130 in the communication position. The detection sensor 190 consists of a light-emitting unit and a light-receiving unit, which are positioned to sandwich the upper surface of the transport stage 130 in the communication position. The light-emitting unit emits light toward the light-receiving unit. Therefore, when no lead components 92 are placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130, the light-receiving unit receives the light emitted by the light-emitting unit. On the other hand, when lead components 92 are placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130, the lead components 92 placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 block the light emitted by the light-emitting unit, and the light-receiving unit does not receive the light emitted by the light-emitting unit. As a result, the detection sensor 190 detects whether or not lead components 92 are placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 in the communication position.

[0034] When the detection sensor 190 detects that a lead component 92 is placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 in the communication position, the transport stage 130 moves from the communication position to the separated position by the operation of the air cylinder 136. In the separated position, four leads 98 extend in one direction toward the bending device 134 from the component body 96 housed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130. A detection sensor (see Figure 16) 192 is positioned to the side of the transport stage 130 in the separated position. The detection sensor 192 consists of a light-emitting unit and a light-receiving unit, which are positioned to sandwich the transport stage 130 in the separated position. The light-emitting unit emits light toward the light-receiving unit. Therefore, when the transport stage 130 has not moved to the separated position, the light-receiving unit receives the light emitted by the light-emitting unit. On the other hand, when the transport stage 130 is moved to a separated position, the transport stage 130 blocks the light emitted by the light emitter, and the light receiver does not receive the light emitted by the light emitter. As a result, the detection sensor 192 detects whether or not the transport stage 130 is moving to a separated position.

[0035] Furthermore, a detection sensor (see Figure 16) 194 is positioned on the side of the upper surface of the transport stage 130 at the separated position. The detection sensor 194 consists of a light-emitting unit and a light-receiving unit, which are positioned to sandwich the upper surface of the transport stage 130 at the separated position. As a result, the detection sensor 194 detects whether or not lead components 92 are placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 at the separated position.

[0036] Then, when the detection sensor 192 detects that the transport stage 130 has moved to the separated position, and the detection sensor 194 detects that the lead part 92 is placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 at the separated position, the pressing device 132 presses down on the lead part 92. Specifically, the rotation axis 152 of the pressing device 132 rotates due to the operation of the air cylinder 158, causing the swing arm 154 to swing from the retracted position (position shown in Figure 11) to the pushed position (position shown in Figure 12). Then, when the rotation axis 152 descends in the pushed position due to the operation of the air cylinder 158, the swing arm 154 also descends, and the press 156 fixed to the other end of the swing arm 154 descends toward the upper surface of the transport stage 130. As a result, the main body 96 of the lead part 92 placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is pressed down by the press 156.

[0037] Next, with the press 156 holding down the main body 96 of the lead component 92 placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130, the bending device 134 bends the leads 98 of the lead component 92. Specifically, the bending arm 160 of the bending device 134 swings from the retracted position (position shown in Figure 12) to the bending position (position shown in Figure 13) by the operation of the air cylinder 166. When the bending arm 160 swings to the bending position, the stepped portion 170 of the bending tool 164, which is located at the tip of the bending arm 160, swings toward the upper end of the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130. At this time, the four leads 98 extending from the main body 96 of the lead component 92 placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 toward the bending device 134 via the upper part of the wall surface 148 are sandwiched between the stepped portion 170 of the bending tool 164 and the corner of the upper end of the wall surface 148 of the transport stage 130. The stepped portion 170 of the bending tool 164 is generally cut at a right angle, and the upper corner of the wall surface 148 of the conveying stage 130 is generally at a right angle. Therefore, the lead 98, sandwiched between the stepped portion 170 of the bending tool 164 and the upper corner of the wall surface 148 of the conveying stage 130, is bent at a generally right angle with the upper corner of the wall surface 148 as the pivot point.

[0038] As described above, when the bending device 134 bends the lead 98 while the holding device 132 is holding the main body 96 of the lead part 92, the bending arm 160 of the bending device 134 swings from the bent position (the position shown in Figure 13) to the retracted position (the position shown in Figure 14) due to the operation of the air cylinder 166. When the bending arm 160 of the bending device 134 swings from the bent position, the rotation axis 152 of the holding device 132 rises in the pressing position due to the operation of the air cylinder 158, causing the swinging arm 154 to rise together with the press 156. This releases the press 156 from holding the main body 96 of the lead part 92 which is placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130. Then, as the rotation axis 152 of the holding device 132 rotates due to the operation of the air cylinder 158, the swinging arm 154 swings from the pressing position (the position shown in Figure 13) to the retracted position (the position shown in Figure 14). As a result, as shown in Figure 14, the lead component 92 is supplied in a way that allows the suction nozzles 66 of the work heads 60 and 62 to easily receive it, with the top of the lead component 92 placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 being open. In other words, in the stick feeder 82, the upper surface of the transport stage 130 is the component supply position, and the bending unit 106 is positioned at the component supply position. At the component supply position, the bending unit 106 bends the lead 98, and the lead component 92 is supplied with the lead 98 bent. The lead component 92 supplied at the component supply position is supplied in the orientation shown in Figure 15. Therefore, the suction nozzles 66 of the work heads 60 and 62 hold the surface of the lead component 92 facing upwards, so that the tip of the lead 98, which is generally bent at a right angle, extends downwards.

[0039] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 16, the control device 36 comprises a controller 200, a plurality of drive circuits 202, and an image processing device 206. The plurality of drive circuits 202 are connected to the transport device 50, clamp device 52, work heads 60, 62, work head moving device 64, tray-type parts supply device 78, air cylinder 136, air cylinder 158, air cylinder 166, electromagnetic motor 182, and loose parts supply device 30. The controller 200 is a computer-based system equipped with a CPU, ROM, RAM, etc., and is connected to the plurality of drive circuits 202. As a result, the operation of the substrate transport and holding device 22, the parts mounting device 24, etc., is controlled by the controller 200. The controller 200 is also connected to the image processing device 206. The image processing device 206 processes image data obtained by the mark camera 26 and the parts camera 28, and the controller 200 acquires various information from the image data. Furthermore, the controller 200 is connected to the detection sensors 190, 192, and 194, and the detection results from the detection sensors 190, 192, and 194 are input to the controller 200.

[0040] In the component mounting machine 10, component mounting is performed on the circuit board 12 held by the substrate transport and holding device 22 using the configuration described above. Specifically, the transport device 50 transports the circuit board 12 to the work position, where the clamping device 52 holds the circuit board 12 in place. Next, the mark camera 26 moves above the circuit board 12 and takes an image of it. The controller 200 then calculates information regarding the holding position of the circuit board 12 based on the image data. The circuit board 12 has through holes (not shown) for inserting the leads 98 of the lead components 92, and the controller 200 also calculates the position coordinates in the X and Y directions of the through holes formed in the circuit board 12 based on the image data.

[0041] Furthermore, as described above, the stick feeder 82 supplies the lead component 92 with the lead 98 bent at the component supply position. For this reason, either the work head 60 or 62 moves above the component supply position of the stick feeder 82, and the suction nozzle 66 holds the component body 96 of the lead component 92. In the lead component 92 held by the suction nozzle 66, as described above, the tip of the lead 98 extends downward.

[0042] As the lead component 92 is held by the suction nozzle 66, the work heads 60 and 62 move above the part camera 28, and the part camera 28 images the lead component 92 held by the suction nozzle 66. The controller 200 then calculates the position coordinates in the XY direction of the tip of the lead 98 of the lead component 92 based on the image data. Subsequently, the operation of the work head moving device 64 is controlled so that the position coordinates in the XY direction of the through hole formed in the circuit board 12 and the position coordinates in the XY direction of the tip of the lead 98 of the lead component 92 coincide. As a result, the suction nozzle 66 holding the lead component 92 moves above the through hole formed in the circuit board 12, and the through hole and the tip of the lead component 92 coincide in the vertical direction. Subsequently, the operation of the lifting device 67 is controlled, and the suction nozzle 66 holding the lead component 92 descends. As a result, the lead 98 of the lead component 92 is inserted into the through hole formed in the circuit board 12.

[0043] In this manner, in the component mounter 10, the leads 98 bent at the component supply position of the stick feeder 82 are inserted into the through-holes of the circuit substrate 12, whereby the leaded component 92 is mounted on the circuit substrate 12. This enables the mounting operation of the leaded component 92 to be performed efficiently. Specifically, as described above, the leaded component 92 is accommodated in the component storage stick 88, and in the stick feeder 82, the leads 98 of the leaded component 92 extruded from the component storage stick 88 are bent by the bending unit 106 at the component supply position, so that the leaded component 92 is supplied. On the other hand, the conventional stick feeder is not provided with the bending unit 106, and in the conventional stick feeder, the leaded component 92 is supplied in a state where the leads 98 are not bent. For this reason, it is necessary to dispose a bending device for bending the leads 98 in the component mounter 10, convey the leaded component supplied from the stick feeder to the bending device, and then bend the leads by the bending device. As described above, if the leads are bent in a bending device separate from the stick feeder, the mounting operation of the leaded component 92 cannot be performed efficiently.

[0044] Further, for example, it is also conceivable that a worker or an apparatus takes out the leaded component 92 from the component storage stick 88, bends the leads 98, and then supplies the leaded component 92 on a tray or the like. However, bending the leads 98 of the leaded component 92 taken out from the component storage stick 88 and supplying the leaded component on a tray or the like requires time and effort for preparation, and the mounting operation of the leaded component 92 cannot be performed efficiently.

[0045] In view of such circumstances, the stick feeder 82 is provided with the bending unit 106 at the component supply position, and the leads 98 of the leaded component 92 are bent by the bending unit 106. This makes it possible to bend the leads 98 at the component supply position in the stick feeder 82 and supply the leaded component 92 with the leads 98 bent, so that the mounting operation of the leaded component 92 can be performed efficiently.

[0046] Further, in the bending unit 106, while the pressing device 132 presses the component main body 96 of the lead component 92, the bending device 134 bends the lead 98 of the lead component 92. This makes it possible to prevent the component main body 96 from lifting or the like when the lead 98 is bent, so that the lead 98 can be properly bent.

[0047] It should be noted that the stick feeder 82 is an example of a stick feeder. The component storage stick 88 is an example of a component storage stick. The lead component 92 is an example of a lead component. The lead 98 is an example of a lead. The bending unit 106 is an example of a bending device. The transport stage 130 is an example of a support base. The pressing device 132 is an example of a component presser. The bending arm 160 is an example of a bending die. The detection sensor 194 is an example of a detection sensor.

[0048] As described above, the present embodiment described above provides the following effects.

[0049] The stick feeder 82 supplies, at a component supply position, the lead component 92 pushed out from the component storage stick 88 in which a plurality of lead components 92 are accommodated in a line inside. The stick feeder 82 is provided with a bending unit 106 that bends the lead 98 of the lead component 92 at the component supply position. This makes it possible to supply the lead component 92 with the lead 98 bent, and to efficiently perform the mounting operation of the lead component 92.

[0050] Further, the bending unit 106 includes a transport stage 130, a bending arm 160, and a pressing device 132. Thereby, the lead 98 of the lead component 92 placed on the upper surface of the transport stage 130 can be properly bent by the bending arm 160.

[0051] Further, the pressing device 132 presses the lead component 92 from above when the bending arm 160 bends the lead 98 of the lead component 92. This makes it possible to prevent the component main body 96 from lifting or the like when the lead 98 is bent, so that the lead 98 can be properly bent.

[0052] Furthermore, the bending arm 160 bends the lead 98, which is extended in one direction, downwards. This allows the lead 98 to be bent appropriately.

[0053] Furthermore, the stick feeder 82 is further equipped with a detection sensor 194 that detects the lead component 92 supported on the transport stage 130. When the bending unit 106 detects the lead component 92 supported on the support base of the transport stage 130 by the detection sensor 194, it bends the lead 98 of the lead component 92. This ensures that the lead 98 of the lead component 92 is reliably bent.

[0054] Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and can be implemented in various forms with various modifications and improvements based on the knowledge of those skilled in the art. Specifically, for example, in the above embodiments, a lead component 92 is used in which a lead 98 extends in one direction from one side surface of the component body 96, but a lead component may be used in which leads extend in multiple directions from multiple side surfaces of the component body.

[0055] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the lead 98 is bent while the component body 96 is being held down, but the lead 98 may be bent while the lead 98 is being held down.

[0056] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the lead 98 extending in one of the left-right directions is bent downwards, but it may be bent in various directions.
