Abstract
Description
Display device, display method, and work machine
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a display device, a display method, and a work machine.
[0002] As disclosed in Patent Document 1, a technique is known for displaying an overhead view image for monitoring the surroundings of a work machine on a monitor. In Patent Document 1, any one individual camera image is displayed in an enlarged state by appropriately operating a switch.
[0003] Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2012-074929
[0004] In the technique described in Patent Document 1, since the individual camera image is displayed overlaid on the overhead view image, the visibility of the overhead view image is degraded. Accordingly, it is desirable to display the overhead view image and the individual camera image (single-camera image) without overlapping each other. Further, when switching the display of the single-camera image, the operation is performed via a switching button arranged at a position different from the display device, which results in poor operability for the operator. Accordingly, it is desirable that the single-camera image can be switched with good operability.
[0005] The present disclosure has been made in view of the above, and an object thereof is to enable switching of single-camera images with good operability.
[0006] According to the present disclosure, there is provided a display device comprising a controller that displays an overhead view image and a single-camera image on the display device, wherein the controller detects an operation on the overhead view image displayed on the display device, thereby switching the single-camera image displayed on the display device to the single-camera image corresponding to a position specified by the operation on the overhead view image.
[0007] According to the present disclosure, there is provided a display method executed by a controller that displays an overhead view image and a single-camera image on a display device, the display method comprising detecting an operation on the overhead view image, thereby switching the single-camera image displayed on the display device to the single-camera image corresponding to a position specified by the operation on the overhead view image.
[0008] According to the present disclosure, there is provided a work machine comprising the above display device and a work implement.
[0009] According to this disclosure, it is possible to switch between single-camera images with ease of operation.

When the fourth layout switching icon image 86 is touched, the four single-camera images are displayed on the display screen as shown in Figure 7.
[0030] The display images shown on the display device 7 will be explained using Figures 3 to 7. Figure 3 is an example of a display image shown on the display device, and is a figure in which only an overhead view image is displayed. In Figure 3, the display image 100 consists only of an overhead view image 101. An icon image 102 corresponding to the plan view of the bulldozer 1 is displayed in the center of the overhead view image 101.
[0031] Figure 4 shows an example of displaying the GUI of the control unit on Figure 3. When the display screen is long-pressed in the state shown in Figure 3, the state shown in Figure 4 is reached. In this embodiment, the control unit 8 is displayed at the right edge of the overhead image 101. At the right edge of the overhead image 101, from bottom to top, the following are displayed: setting icon image 82, first layout switching icon image 83, second layout switching icon image 84, third layout switching icon image 85, fourth layout switching icon image 86, and full-screen switching icon image 81. When the control unit 8 is displayed as shown in Figure 4, the layout of the displayed image can be changed.
[0032] Figure 5 shows a display image consisting of an overhead view image and a single-camera image. In Figure 5, the display image 100 is composed of an overhead view image 101 and a single-camera image 111. The left side of the display image 100 is the overhead view image 101, and the right side is the single-camera image 111. The single-camera image 111 is an image captured in the left-right and front-rear directions of the work machine's body. The single-camera image 111 is an image captured by either the front camera 6A, the rear camera 6B, the left camera 6C, or the right camera 6D. In the layout of Figure 5, the single-camera image 111 can be switched by the operator's operation. The switching of the single-camera image 111 will be described later.
[0033] Figure 6 shows a display image consisting of an overhead view image and two single-camera images. In Figure 6, the display image 100 consists of an overhead view image 101 and two single-camera images. The two single-camera images are single-camera image 110 and single-camera image 111. The left side of the display image 100 is the overhead view image 101, the lower right is single-camera image 110, and the upper right is single-camera image 111. In the layout of Figure 6, single-camera image 110 is fixed as an image captured by the rear camera 6B and cannot be switched. Single-camera image 111 is an image captured by either the front camera 6A, the left camera 6C, or the right camera 6D. In this embodiment, single-camera image 111 can be switched by the operator's operation.
[0034] The switching of single-camera images will now be explained. As shown in Figures 5 and 6, when the overhead image 101 and single-camera image 111 are displayed, if a touch operation is detected on the overhead image 101, the single-camera image captured by camera 6 corresponding to the touched area will be displayed on single-camera image 111. If another single-camera image is already displayed, the currently displayed single-camera image will be switched. For example, if a touch operation is detected on the area 101A in front of the overhead image 101, the single-camera image captured by the front camera 6A will be displayed. For example, if a touch operation is detected on the area 101B behind the overhead image 101, the single-camera image captured by the rear camera 6B will be displayed. For example, if a touch operation is detected on the area 101C to the left of the overhead image 101, the single-camera image captured by the left camera 6C will be displayed. For example, if a touch operation is detected on the area 101D to the right of the overhead image 101, the single-camera image captured by the right camera 6D will be displayed. Note that the dashed lines indicating the boundaries of regions 101A, 101B, 101C, or 101D are shown for illustrative purposes only and will not be displayed in the actual overhead image, although they may be displayed.
[0035] Figure 7 shows a display image consisting of four single-camera images. In Figure 7, the display image 100 is composed of four single-camera images. The four single-camera images are single-camera image 110, single-camera image 112, single-camera image 113, and single-camera image 114. Single-camera image 110 is in the upper right, single-camera image 112 is in the lower right, single-camera image 113 is in the upper left, and single-camera image 114 is in the lower left. In the layout of Figure 7, single-camera image 110 is an image captured by the rear camera 6B and cannot be switched. Single-camera image 112 is an image captured by the right camera 6D and cannot be switched. Single-camera image 113 is an image captured by the front camera 6A and cannot be switched. Single-camera image 114 is an image captured by the left camera 6C and cannot be switched. The positions of the four single-camera images in the display image are not limited to these. For example, the upper right image may be an image captured by the front camera 6A, the rear camera 6B, the left camera 6C, or the right camera 6D.
[0036] (Display Controller) The display controller 10 will be described using Figure 2. The display controller 10 comprises an image data acquisition unit 11, an overhead image generation unit 12, an input operation reception unit 13, an image generation unit 14, and a display control unit 15. The display controller 10 includes a numerical processing unit (processor) such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit). The camera 6, display device 7, operation unit 8, display controller 10, and vehicle body controller 20 are connected to an in-vehicle network N such as a CAN.
[0037] The display controller 10 displays the display image on the display device 7. The display controller 10 displays, for example, an overhead image on the display device 7. The display controller 10 displays, for example, an overhead image and at least one or more single-camera images. The display controller 10 displays, for example, multiple single-camera images.
[0038] The display controller 10 detects operations on the overhead view image displayed on the display device 7. The display controller 10 switches the single-camera image displayed on the display device 7 to the single-camera image corresponding to the position specified by the operation on the overhead view image. In this embodiment, the display controller 10 switches to a single-camera image by touching the display device 7 on which the overhead view image is displayed. The display controller 10 switches the single-camera image displayed on the display device 7 to the single-camera image corresponding to the position specified by the touch operation in the overhead view image.
[0039] When the display controller 10 displays multiple single-camera images on the display device 7, one of the multiple single-camera images may be an image taken of the rear of the vehicle. The display controller 10 may also switch to an image taken of the left or right direction or the front of the vehicle by manipulating the overhead view image.
[0040] The display controller 10 may display the overhead view image and the single-camera image side by side. If the display screen is horizontally oriented, for example, the display controller 10 may display the overhead view image and the single-camera image side by side horizontally. If the display screen is vertically oriented, for example, the display controller 10 may display the overhead view image and the single-camera image side by side vertically.
[0041] The display controller 10 can set the layout of the overhead view image and at least one single-camera image to be displayed on the display device 7. The display controller 10 can set the layout when the vehicle is stopped and the display device 7 is pressed and held down.
[0042] When the vehicle is stopped and the display device 7 is pressed and held, the display controller 10 displays an icon image showing the configurable layout of the overhead view image and the single-camera image.
[0043] The image data acquisition unit 11 acquires the captured images taken by the camera 6. The image data acquisition unit 11 acquires the captured images taken by the front camera 6A, the rear camera 6B, the left camera 6C, and the right camera 6D.
[0044] The overhead image generation unit 12 generates an overhead image from the captured image acquired by the image data acquisition unit 11. The overhead image generation unit 12 generates an overhead image obtained by performing viewpoint conversion such that four captured images captured by the front camera 6A, the rear camera 6B, the left camera 6C, and the right camera 6D are viewed from above. More specifically, the overhead image generation unit 12 converts the four captured images acquired from the front camera 6A, the rear camera 6B, the left camera 6C, and the right camera 6D into images viewed from above. The overhead image generation unit 12 converts the images into an image viewed from a predetermined virtual viewpoint located above the bulldozer 1. The overhead image generation unit 12 performs image conversion for projecting the images onto a predetermined virtual projection plane corresponding to the ground surface level from the virtual viewpoint above the bulldozer 1. Then, the overhead image generation unit 12 cuts out converted images corresponding to respective regions of the display screen that displays the overhead image, and synthesizes the respective converted images. In the overhead image generated by the overhead image generation unit 12, an icon image corresponding to the plan view of the bulldozer 1 is arranged. The method for generating the overhead image is not limited to this, and a known method can be used.
[0045] The input operation reception unit 13 receives an operation on the overhead image displayed on the display device 7. The input operation reception unit 13 receives a touch operation on the overhead image displayed on the display device 7. The input operation reception unit 13 receives, for example, a touch operation on the region 101A, the region 101B, the region 101C, or the region 101D of the overhead image 101.
[0046] The input operation reception unit 13 receives an operation on the operation unit 8 displayed on the display device 7. The input operation reception unit 13 receives, for example, a full-screen switching operation on the full-screen switching icon image 81. The input operation reception unit 13 receives, for example, a setting menu screen display operation on the setting icon image 82. The input operation reception unit 13 receives, for example, an operation of changing the layout of the image displayed on the display device 7, the operation being performed on the first layout switching icon image 83, the second layout switching icon image 84, the third layout switching icon image 85, or the fourth layout switching icon image 86.
[0047] The image generation unit 14 generates a display image to be displayed on the display device 7.
[0048] The image generation unit 14 generates, as a display image, for example, any one of a bird's-eye view image, a composite image of the bird's-eye view image and one single camera image, a composite image of the bird's-eye view image and two single camera images, and a composite image of four single camera images. The image generation unit 14 may generate an image obtained by combining the display image with the GUI that is the operation unit 8. When the input operation reception unit 13 receives a layout change operation, the image generation unit 14 generates a display image corresponding to the selected layout.
[0049] Immediately after the key of the bulldozer 1 is turned ON, the image generation unit 14 may generate, as an initial display image, for example, a composite image of a bird's-eye view image and one single camera image.
[0050] The display control unit 15 causes the display device 7 to display the display image generated by the image generation unit 14. The display control unit 15 causes the display device 7 to display, for example, a bird's-eye view image. The display control unit 15 causes, for example, the bird's-eye view image and at least one or more single camera images to be displayed. The display control unit 15 causes, for example, a plurality of single camera images to be displayed. The display control unit 15 transmits a video signal to the display device 7.
[0051] The display control unit 15 switches the single camera image displayed on the display device 7 by detecting an operation on the bird's-eye view image. The display control unit 15 switches the single camera image displayed on the display device 7 to a single camera image corresponding to a position specified by an operation on the bird's-eye view image. In the embodiment, the display control unit 15 switches the single camera image by performing a touch operation on the display device 7 on which the bird's-eye view image is displayed. The display control unit 15 switches the single camera image displayed on the display device 7 to a single camera image corresponding to a position specified by a touch operation on the bird's-eye view image.
[0052] When the display control unit 15 displays a plurality of single camera images on the display device 7, one of the plurality of single camera images may be an image obtained by imaging the rear of the vehicle body. By operating the bird's-eye view image, the display control unit 15 may switch to an image obtained by imaging the left-right direction or the front of the vehicle body.
[0053] The display control unit 15 may display the bird's-eye view image and the single camera image side by side in the left-right direction.
[0054] The display control unit 15 switches between single-camera images by touching the display device 7, which is showing the overhead view image, even while the bulldozer 1 is in motion.
[0055] When the display control unit 15 receives a request to change the layout, it displays the display image corresponding to the selected layout on the display device 7.
[0056] The display control unit 15 displays the operation unit 8 when the vehicle is stopped and the display device 7 is pressed and held down. The display control unit 15 makes it possible to set the layout of the overhead view image and at least one single-camera image to be displayed on the display device 7 when the vehicle is stopped and the display device 7 is pressed and held down. The display control unit 15 displays icon images that indicate the configurable layouts of the overhead view image and single-camera image when the vehicle is stopped and the display device 7 is pressed and held down. The icon images include a first layout switching icon image 83, a second layout switching icon image 84, a third layout switching icon image 85, and a fourth layout switching icon image 86.
[0057] (Vehicle body controller) The vehicle body controller 20 is a controller that controls the tilt angle of the swash plate of a drive unit inside the vehicle body, for example, a swash plate type hydraulic pump driven by the engine. The vehicle body controller 20 determines whether the bulldozer 1 is moving or stopped based on signals from, for example, the accelerator pedal and travel lever of the bulldozer 1 (not shown). In other words, the vehicle body controller 20 determines whether the vehicle body 2 is stopped. The vehicle body controller 20 transmits data indicating whether the vehicle body 2 is stopped to the display controller 10.
[0058] Figure 8 is a block diagram showing a computer system according to an embodiment. The display controller 10 and the vehicle body controller 20 include a computer system 1000. The computer system 1000 includes a processor 1001 such as a CPU, a main memory 1002 including non-volatile memory such as ROM (Read Only Memory) and volatile memory such as RAM (Random Access Memory), a storage 1003, and an interface 1004 including input / output circuits. The functions of the display controller 10 and the vehicle body controller 20 are stored as programs in the storage 1003. The processor 1001 reads the programs from the storage 1003, loads them into the main memory 1002, and executes the above-mentioned processes according to the programs. The programs may be distributed to the computer system 1000 via a network.
[0059] (Display Method) Next, an example of the display processing by the display controller 10 of the bulldozer 1 will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in Figure 9. Figure 9 is a flowchart of an example of the display processing according to the embodiment. While the bulldozer 1 is running, the processing in Figure 9 is executed at predetermined time intervals.
[0060] The display controller 10 determines whether the overhead view image and the single-camera image are being displayed (step ST11). If the display controller 10 determines that both the overhead view image and the single-camera image are being displayed (step ST11; Yes), it proceeds to step ST12. If it does not determine that both the overhead view image and the single-camera image are being displayed (step ST11; No), it repeats the process in step ST11. If both the overhead view image and the single-camera image are not being displayed, it means that either only the overhead view image is being displayed, or only the single-camera image is being displayed.
[0061] If the display controller 10 determines that both the overhead view image and the single-camera image are being displayed (step ST11; Yes), it determines whether the overhead view image has been touched (step ST12). The display controller 10 determines whether any of the regions 101A, 101B, 101C, and 101D of the overhead view image have been touched. If the display controller 10 determines that the overhead view image has been touched (step ST12; Yes), it proceeds to step ST13. If the display controller 10 does not determine that the overhead view image has been touched (step ST12; No), it repeats the process in step ST11.
[0062] If the display controller determines that the overhead view image has been touched (step ST12; Yes), the display controller 10 generates a single-camera image corresponding to the touched area (step ST13). If the area 101A of the overhead view image is touched, the display controller 10 generates a single-camera image captured by the front camera 6A. If the area 101B of the overhead view image is touched, the display controller 10 generates a single-camera image captured by the rear camera 6B. If the area 101C of the overhead view image is touched, the display controller 10 generates a single-camera image captured by the left camera 6C. If the area 101D of the overhead view image is touched, the display controller 10 generates a single-camera image captured by the right camera 6D. The display controller 10 proceeds to step ST14.
[0063] The display controller 10 generates a display image that shows the overhead camera image and the generated single-camera image side by side (step ST14). The display controller 10 then proceeds to step ST15.
[0064] The display controller 10 displays the display image (step ST15).
[0065] (Effects) As described above, in this embodiment, the single-camera image displayed on the display device 7 can be switched to the single-camera image corresponding to the operation by detecting the operation on the overhead view image displayed on the display device 7. In this embodiment, the single-camera image can be switched without operating a switching button or the like located separately from the display device 7. According to this embodiment, when the overhead view image and the single-camera image are displayed side by side, the single-camera image can be switched with ease of operation.
[0066] In this embodiment, the single-camera image displayed on the display device 7 can be switched to the single-camera image corresponding to the touch operation by touching the display device 7 which is displaying the overhead view image. According to this embodiment, the single-camera image can be switched with intuitive operation by the operator.
[0067] In this embodiment, an overhead view image and at least one single-camera image can be displayed. According to this embodiment, the surroundings can be properly confirmed by viewing both the overhead view image and the single-camera image.
[0068] In this embodiment, the single-camera image captures the left-right and front-rear directions of the bulldozer body 2. According to this embodiment, the left-right and front-rear directions of the bulldozer 1 can be appropriately confirmed.
[0069] In this embodiment, when multiple single-camera images are displayed on the display device 7, one of the multiple single-camera images is an image of the rear of the vehicle body 2. In this embodiment, by manipulating the overhead view image, it is possible to switch to an image of the left, right, or front of the vehicle body 2.
