Abstract
Description
A mobile vehicle, device, and system (Dr. NaCarMa2) that reduces the cost of gasoline and other fuels without using part or all of tax-funded fuel subsidies, and prevents CO2 from leaking into the atmosphere.
[0001] The present invention relates to a mobile body driven by a fuel that generates CO2, a mobile body device and its system, and a device attached to the mobile body.
[0002] Reducing CO2 emissions is considered a crucial way to prevent global environmental destruction and is being promoted. In Japan, the amount of CO2 emitted from the transportation sector, including gasoline-powered vehicles, accounts for 19.2% of the total, amounting to 190.14 million tons. In Europe, electric vehicles have become popular because gasoline-powered vehicles emit CO2, but this has resulted in heavier vehicles and dust problems. Furthermore, rising prices have increased gasoline costs, causing difficulties for car users. In addition, car manufacturers are also struggling with the 25% tariff imposed by Trump. This invention solves these various problems. Patent document 1 discloses a device system that decomposes CO2 emitted from gasoline-powered vehicles and converts it into fuel inside the vehicle. However, equipping each vehicle with a device to convert it into fuel would make the vehicle heavier and could cause dust problems. Also, the CO2 processing efficiency would be poor. A means is needed that does not emit CO2 and drives the vehicle efficiently.
[0003] International public access number WO2012 / 120641
[0004] In recent years, gasoline prices have risen, and while taxes have been allocated to curb the price increases, gasoline prices are still rising. Additionally, it was expected that the large-scale availability of shale gas in the United States would reduce gasoline costs, but prices have not decreased at all. Furthermore, there is a problem where the reduction of gasoline subsidies was implemented, causing gasoline prices to jump from 176 yen to 182 yen all at once. This has had a significant impact on consumers' daily lives, such as heavy oil costs increasing by an extra 100,000 yen per month for strawberry farms, and dry cleaning services also raising their prices, making the gasoline price hike issue increasingly serious. There are ongoing considerations for policy proposals that eliminate the tax burden on gasoline, in other words, policies that use tax funds to lower gasoline prices. However, if the gasoline tax burden is removed to make gasoline cheaper, the number of people using cars will increase, leading to higher CO₂ emissions and accelerating the destruction of the global environment. The present invention is capable of solving the political problem of soaring gasoline prices through an invention: it lowers gasoline prices without providing gasoline subsidies that come from tax funds, and does not emit CO₂ and even reduces CO₂ emissions even when the number of cars increases. Moreover, in recent years, China has restricted exports of rare metals, putting Japanese automobile manufacturers such as Honda in a state of suspended production. In other words, automobiles that do not use rare metals are required. Rare metals are used in motors and the like to avoid CO₂ emissions. The present invention does not use rare metals for the automobile drive motor. That is, this is an epoch-making invention that has four major advantages: it can be manufactured even if China regulates rare metal exports, does not generate CO₂, and further reduces gasoline costs without tax subsidies.
[0005] The present invention relates to a mobile body, device, or system thereof driven by a fuel that generates CO₂, which is a device that does not leak CO₂ to the atmosphere, characterized in that it does not release generated CO₂ to the atmosphere, separates the generated CO₂ from exhaust gas, stores it in a tank, and allows it to be sold externally. Further, the means for separating CO₂ from exhaust gas and the tank are provided as an adapter on the exhaust gas pipe, and the tank is configured to be detachable, or the tank is made of a stretchable material such as a rubber balloon, doubles as the means for separating CO₂ from exhaust gas, and is fixed to the exhaust gas pipe with a tight-holding fixture made of rubber or the like. This is a device that does not leak CO₂ to the atmosphere.
[0006] This invention has four main benefits. First, it is good for the global environment because it does not emit CO2, even though it is a gasoline engine. Second, even though it is a gasoline engine, the driving range is longer than before, so gasoline consumption is reduced, easing the burden on household finances. Third, for users, the price of gasoline will fall even without government subsidies, resulting in lower fuel costs. Therefore, the government can also save on gasoline subsidies. In other words, it does not use tax money. This means that the national treasury will not go into the red. Fourth, while the aforementioned method of government gasoline subsidies lowers the price of gasoline, the amount of CO2 increases, worsening the environment. This invention does not increase CO2, so it is good for the environment. Furthermore, fifth, US President Trump will be pleased because gasoline will sell well. This is because gasoline cars emit CO2, so he switched to EVs, but if gasoline cars do not emit CO2, gasoline cars will make a comeback. This will also bring benefits to Japan, such as domestic production of gasoline cars, fostering and expanding Japanese industry, creating a national surplus, and making its citizens wealthy. From the user's perspective, as mentioned in the third point above, gasoline would be cheaper, and shale oil, which President Trump had been promoting as "dig-dig" even during his election campaign, would become more widely available. Furthermore, President Trump has imposed a 25% tariff on Japan as an equal measure, raising it from the previous 2.5% to 27.5%, which would be a major blow. Currently, Japanese cars are manufactured domestically, in Canada, Mexico, and other countries, so Japanese automakers are also struggling with the 25% tariff. Applying this invention would resolve all of these problems, allowing Japanese automakers to manufacture domestically, making cars cheaper and enabling them to travel longer distances, increasing exports of oil and other goods in the US and boosting profits, and making Trump happy. The US, Japan, and users would all benefit in a triple win-win situation. In addition, since it aligns with the Paris Agreement, it would also have the effect of generating profits in Europe.
[0007] Let's describe the effects in more detail. 1. By reducing all or part of the CO2 inside the vehicle, compressing it, and releasing it outside for processing at home or at CO2 treatment plants, it is possible to eliminate CO2 emissions from the vehicle. By processing and utilizing CO2, gasoline consumption decreases, and gasoline prices stabilize, resulting in excellent effects. 2. CO2 in the exhaust gas is recovered as CO or H2 produced by electrolysis, catalytic electrolysis, photocatalytic decomposition, or photocatalytic reduction, along with methane (CH4), or burned in the engine. This results in significantly higher yields than synthetic fuels, and even when burned in the engine, the burden is low, and processing after gas recovery from the cylinder is easy. 3. By using a photocatalytic reduction device and cylinder together, and by using a compressor to pressurize the CO2, CO2 can be efficiently reduced to CO, and the device can be miniaturized. 4. Since the CO2 separation device and tank are installed as an adapter in the exhaust gas pipe, it has the advantage of being installable in existing vehicles. 5. Since the adapter's structure is simple and lightweight, it utilizes exhaust pressure for separation or gas storage. 6. In recent years, the number of ships transporting liquid carbon dioxide has increased, and it is also expected that the number of ships powered by liquid carbon dioxide will increase in the future. By utilizing the CO2 obtained through this invention as fuel for these ships, a win-win situation can be achieved.

This is an embodiment of a method using a compressor to pressurize (A) and a method using a vacuum pump to depressurize (B).
[0009] Figure 1 shows a diagram of a gasoline vehicle powered by a known CO2-generating fuel. Figure 1(A) shows that in recent years, gasoline prices have risen, and taxes are being used as subsidies 120 to keep the price increase down. Users purchase gasoline 110 from a gas station, and the purchased gasoline 110 is burned in the engine and other drive devices 1 of a vehicle 100, which is a mobile vehicle that uses gasoline as a driving force, thus providing the vehicle or other mobile vehicle with power. As a result, exhaust gas 3 containing CO2 2 is emitted. In other words, not only are the environmental impacts of CO2 a problem, but the use of taxpayers' money to suppress the rise in gasoline prices puts a strain on users' lives. Furthermore, even the measures proposed and advocated by the opposition, as shown in Figure 1(B), which aim to curb rising gasoline prices by abolishing the provisional tax rate on gasoline for roads that was temporarily introduced in addition to gasoline subsidies, have not secured the necessary funds for the additional budget, resulting in a decrease in national tax revenue. Ultimately, this will increase taxes or national debt, and will not only emit exhaust gases containing CO2, but will also have a further negative impact on the disposable income and living standards of citizens, thus not solving the problem at all. In addition, in order to solve the environmental problem related to CO2 and to use fuels more efficiently, the transition to electric vehicles has been pursued until now. However, electric vehicles emit a lot of CO2 to generate electricity, and the electric vehicles themselves are costly. Currently, not all citizens are moving in a direction where they can maintain the environment and become prosperous at the same time, so hybrid vehicles with gasoline engines are being re-evaluated. Therefore, means of widely and efficiently utilizing the CO2 emitted by burning fossil fuels such as gasoline are indispensable. Furthermore, if CO2 is not released into the atmosphere, and the engine efficiency of fuel use is increased, fuel consumption is improved and driving range is extended, the fuel costs for users will decrease, and if gasoline becomes even cheaper, gasoline cars will sell even more, and as the number of gasoline cars increases, gasoline consumption will increase even more, creating a cycle in which the lives of the Japanese people and the people of the United States, a shale gas producing country, will become richer.
[0010] This invention is a groundbreaking invention that solves the above problems and issues, This is a technology for mobile vehicles and devices, referred to as "(Dr. NaCarMa2, as it is referred to in this specification)" (trademark pending). The present invention is shown in Figure 2 and below.
[0011] [First Embodiment of the Invention] The present invention relates to a mobile vehicle, device, and system powered by a CO2-generating fuel, characterized by its ability to reduce fuel costs for users without using part or all of the tax-funded fuel subsidies, by preventing CO2 from leaking into the atmosphere, separating the generated CO2, and selling it to a company outside the device. In other words, it is a technology for selling and effectively utilizing the CO2 emitted from a mobile vehicle or device. CO2 can also be utilized within the device. The specific configuration is as shown in Figures 2-10, where some of the CO2 is processed and utilized outside the device while being used as fuel inside the device. A mobile vehicle or device that uses a CO2-generating fuel such as gasoline is a device that generates driving force by burning fossil fuels such as gasoline that generate CO2. Specifically, this refers to devices that burn fossil fuels, such as engines for mobile vehicles, gasoline and diesel engines for automobiles, engines for ships, engines for aircraft, engines for agricultural machinery, gas turbines, jets, rockets, and heating furnaces, as well as mobile vehicles, automobiles, ships, aircraft, agricultural machinery, rockets, etc., that are equipped with devices that burn fossil fuels. The ability to separate and sell CO2 externally means, for example, separating the CO2 from the exhaust gas of a gasoline vehicle, filling it into a removable cassette or a fixed cylinder inside the vehicle, transporting it to a processing facility such as a CO2 processing and utilization plant, transferring the CO2 to the CO2 processing and utilization plant via a pipe connected to the cassette or cylinder, where the CO2 is bought and sold, and at the CO2 processing and utilization plant, the CO2 is used to produce useful materials such as fuel, fertilizer, plastic materials, synthetic resins, and tire raw materials. The refined fuel can be used again as fuel 904 for mobile vehicles such as cars and ships, and the mobile vehicles can be driven using the liquid CO2 as fuel. If reuse is difficult, the liquid CO2 (LCO2) is transported by a transport means such as a ship 902 to a storage facility 903 under pressure underground, so as not to release the CO2 into the atmosphere.
[0012] Furthermore, the mobile bodies and devices of the present invention are improved engine devices, including engines capable of burning hydrogen, engines capable of burning oxygen, or engines capable of burning natural gas such as methane, which are engine devices capable of burning fuels derived from CO2, and mobile bodies that move using such engine devices as driving force. Specifically, the mobile bodies, devices and systems include mobile bodies such as automobiles (especially commercial transport systems such as trucks and taxis), ships, engine-powered generator ships, aircraft, and tractors, as well as combustion devices that use fuels that generate CO2, such as engine-powered generators, thermal power generators, combustion furnaces, gas companies, and power generation companies, and factories that process and utilize the above-mentioned mobile bodies or combustion devices and CO2, and are mechanisms that circulate CO2 and generated gases that effectively utilize CO2, and are mechanisms that circulate CO2 so that it is not released into the atmosphere.
[0013] A first embodiment of the present invention will be specifically described in Figures 2 and 3. CO2 is separated (filtered) from exhaust gas 3 coming out of the exhaust port of a mobile body, such as a car, after combustion of the engine 1, by a filter 4 capable of separating CO2, and exhaust gas other than CO2 is passed through a known exhaust gas treatment device (such as NOx treatment) and released into the atmosphere 5, and the separated and purified CO2 2 is filled into a packing material such as a detachable cassette 8 (as shown in Figure 2) or a fixed cylinder 10 (as shown in Figure 3) installed in the car. Then, as shown by the dashed lines in Figures 2 and 3, if necessary, regenerative energy (electric or rotational kinetic energy) is generated 102 using a kinetic, electric, or thermal energy generation device 101 that utilizes the rotation of the tires or the heat of the engine, etc., to drive a compressor 6 and compress and fill the separated and purified CO2 2 into a CO2 cassette 8 or a fixed CO2 cylinder 10 installed in the car. The CO2 cassette 8 or CO2 fixed cylinder 10 is equipped with a check valve (7 or 72) to prevent backflow from the cassette or cylinder to the filter 4 (exhaust side) or to the compressor 6. The CO2 2 may also be liquefied and filled into the cassette 8 or fixed cylinder 10. The compressor 6 can be used as appropriate depending on the amount of CO2 generated and the operating time. While the vehicle is moving, the CO2 2 is retained inside the vehicle, preventing CO2 2 and its generated gases from being released outside the vehicle. When the vehicle stops and the vehicle and other equipment are stopped, the CO2 and its generated gases are transferred to an external CO2 processing and utilization plant via a pipe connected to the cassette 8 separated from the cassette mounting fixture 81, or to an external CO2 processing and utilization plant via a connection valve 73 on the fixed tank. Only the CO2-filled cassette 8 or CO2 gas is sold to the company (processing and utilization plant 901). The vehicle user then receives payment for the CO2 2 from the processing and utilization plant 11. Alternatively, compensation may be obtained as a means of passing on the cost to gasoline prices, for example, by providing discount points for purchasing gasoline. Not releasing CO2 or generated gases to the outside means keeping the CO2 within the CO2 circulation system, including the mobile vehicle and CO2 processing and utilization plant equipment, so that it is not released into nature and does not affect the environment.
[0014] There are three methods for selectively separating (filtering) CO2 using a CO2-selectable filter 4: (1) Solution absorption method, which involves dissolving CO2 molecules in a solution and separating components, or separating them by chemical reaction of the solution. (2) Solid adsorption method, such as adsorption onto solid absorbents, adsorbents, porous materials impregnated with chemical substances, or organometallic structures such as MOFs. (3) Membrane separation method, which utilizes the selectivity, permeability, and diffusivity of molecules to a predetermined separation membrane using a solid thin film to separate them (including thin films made of MOFs and porous carbon fiber films). Any of these methods can be used as the CO2 selective separation filter 4, but they should be appropriately set according to the CO2 recovery rate, selectivity, and processing capacity. Permeable CO2 purification filters such as ionic liquid membranes, CO2 separation nanomembranes, porous carbon fiber membranes, or solid adsorption of CO2 such as MOFs (metal-organic structures) are preferred, and methods with a simple structure and light weight are also preferred. A CO2 permeable CO2 purification filter is preferable, as a nanomembrane CO2 purification filter membrane made of MOF (metal-organic structure) or porous carbon fibers offers higher efficiency. While the purity of the separated CO2 should be as high as possible, it is preferable for car users to sell it to companies at a concentration that can be recycled at the processing and utilization plant 901.
[0015] According to the present invention, CO2 emitted from mobile devices is not emitted within the mobile vehicle itself, and can be recovered and reused, thus resolving many of the aforementioned issues and problems, such as the reduction of high gasoline prices.
[0016] In the second embodiment and subsequent embodiments of the present invention, the process from generating CO2 2 by selectively purifying the exhaust gas 3 emitted from the mobile device and other equipment, to placing it in a cassette 8 or fixed cylinder 10 installed in the vehicle, is substantially the same and has already been described, so unless specifically mentioned, further explanation will be omitted in the embodiments.
[0017] [Second Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of the present invention, characterized in that CO2 is placed in a removable cassette and the cassette can be sold. Specifically, CO2 2 is placed in a removable CO2 cassette 8 fixed to an in-vehicle mounting fixture 81, and after the vehicle stops, the cassette 8 is removed from the in-vehicle mounting fixture and carried outside the vehicle. The cassette 8 is then made available for sale and sold to external CO2 processing and utilization factory facilities 9 for the manufacture of fuel, fertilizer, plastic materials, synthetic resins, and tire raw materials.
[0018] The gas inlet of cassette 8 is equipped with a check valve and valve 7 to prevent leakage. There is no specific capacity requirement for cassette 8, but it should be a cylinder of 47L or less. Using a 3.4L cylinder or a similar size to a 250g liquefied cassette cylinder used for a portable stove would make it very convenient to attach, detach, and carry. Multiple cassettes 8, mounting brackets 81, and a compressor 6 for liquefaction can be installed inside the vehicle. In this Figure 2, the explanation uses a CO2 cassette 8, but not limited to CO2, all gases generated inside the vehicle from CO2 or H2O can be transported using this method and sold and distributed outside the vehicle. Empty cassettes 8 can be collected and reused and reinstalled in the vehicle.
[0019] According to the second embodiment of the present invention, CO2 can be sold at an external processing plant without being emitted to the outside, and since it is a cassette type and can be attached to and detached from the vehicle, it is easy to handle and makes it easy to distribute even small amounts of CO2 outside the vehicle.
[0020] [Third Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 3 shows a third embodiment of the present invention, characterized in that CO2 is placed in a CO2 cylinder 10 fixed inside a vehicle, the vehicle is driven to a CO2 processing and utilization plant, and after stopping, the pipe is connected to the CO2 cylinder 10 using a connection part 73 for external pipes provided on the CO2 cylinder 10, and the CO2 is transported to the CO2 processing and utilization plant for processing 11.
[0021] A check valve 7 is provided at the gas inlet of the CO2 cylinder 10 to prevent backflow. The CO2 cylinder is stored inside the vehicle as a high-pressure container in the form of compressed or liquefied gas. When the vehicle stops at a CO2 processing and utilization plant, the CO2 is transported to the plant for sale and processing 11. As a business model for sales, for example, at a gas station, when gasoline or gas fuel is supplied, CO2 is also transported to the gas station's tank from the connection part 73 to an external pipe, and CO2 is bought and sold, with the user receiving payment, thus facilitating economic circulation. Economic circulation could also be facilitated by redeeming points towards the price of gasoline. In this Figure 3, a fixed CO2 cylinder 10 is used for the explanation, but not limited to CO2, all gases generated from CO2 or H2O inside the vehicle may be transported outside the vehicle and sold and distributed by this means. CO2, CO, H2, CH4, or O2 gases can be provided inside the vehicle, either individually or as mixed gases, in cylinders or removable cassettes. The connection portion 73 with the external pipe is a connection valve that can be connected and closed with a single touch, and is provided on the surface of the outer wall body of a mobile body such as a vehicle 100 or on the surface of equipment such as an engine unit.
[0022] According to the third embodiment of the present invention, not only is CO2 not emitted to the outside, but because it is fixed to the vehicle, it is highly safe, and a large amount of gas can be stored inside the vehicle and supplied to an external processing plant facility. The external processing plant facility 11 does not need to collect the gas itself, and costs can be reduced because the gas is collected there.
[0023] [Fourth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 4 shows a fourth embodiment of the present invention, characterized in that water used for engine cooling water, etc., is electrolyzed with electricity such as regenerative energy to produce H2 and O2, the H2 is combined with a portion of the CO2 in a CO2 cassette or cylinder to produce methane (CH4), a portion of the methane and the O2 gas is used as part of the driving energy for a drive device such as a rotary engine or diesel engine, and the remaining CO2 gas is extracted from the cassette 8 or cylinder 10 to the outside of the vehicle and transported to an external processing facility such as a house or factory for processing and utilization as a useful material such as fuel, fertilizer, plastic material, synthetic resin, tire raw material, etc.
[0024] Specifically, as explained in Figure 4, regenerative energy 102 obtained from the tires 103, etc., is stored in a battery 103. This electricity is used to electrolyze water 13 in a pure water tank 12 for engine cooling water, etc., to produce H2 14 and O2 18. The H2 14 is then combined with all or part of the CO2 2 in the CO2 cylinder 10 using a Sabatier reactor 21 to produce methane (CH4) 15. The methane 15 and O2 18 are then transported via pipes to a combustible engine 1, such as a rotary engine or diesel engine, and used as part of the driving energy 16. Alternatively, the vehicle can be moved to an external processing facility such as a house or factory, and a portion of the CO2 2 from the CO2 cylinder 10 is taken out from an external connection part (connecting valve) 73 and processed and utilized as useful materials such as fuel, fertilizer, plastic materials, synthetic resins, and tire raw materials 11. The arrows indicate the processing flow, but the double lines represent pipes, which are included to emphasize the transfer of the specified gas. Furthermore, the vehicle's shape is stylized and shown in the diagram to emphasize that a fixed cylinder is loaded onto the vehicle and that a pipe is connected to an external connection part (connecting valve) 73 on the vehicle to transfer the gas to the processing plant for processing 11.
[0025] The water used in electrolysis 50 may be provided in a separate tank. In electrolysis 50, when electricity is applied, the reaction 2H2O → 2H2 + O2 proceeds, but it is preferable to provide a membrane (filter) 501 to separate the generated H2 and O2. Alternatively, instead of electrolysis 50, an electrolysis reaction 30 using a photocatalyst may be used, where the reaction is carried out by applying light without applying electricity. The electrolysis reaction 30 using a photocatalyst is the same as electrolysis, 2H2O → 2H2 + O2. The generated H2 gas and O2 gas may be filled into cassettes or tanks (not indicated) respectively. When the gas is removed from the CO2 tank 10 to the outside of the vehicle, the H2 and O2 gases are also removed to the outside of the vehicle at the same time.
[0026] The Sabatier reaction 21 is a standard method of methanation. It is carried out under high temperature and pressure conditions using catalysts such as nickel, titanium oxide, or aluminum oxide with ruthenium immobilized on it. The reaction is CO2 + 4H2 → CH4 + 2H2O (ΔH = -165 kJ / mol). The reaction takes place at temperatures between 200 and 500 degrees Celsius, but the conversion rate at low temperatures is very high, making it advantageous for automotive applications. The Sabatier reaction can reduce CO2 more efficiently than synthetic fuels and produce high-purity fuel.
[0027] Methanation (general production of CH4) is being studied and utilized in various ways, in addition to the Sabatier reaction 21 described above. For example, there are methods using the synthetic fuel FT method (CO + H2 → CnHm, extracting only CH4) (CH4 production reaction 22 shown in Figure 8 of this invention), methods similar to the FT method but using special synthetic catalysts, methods using photocatalysts (CO2 + 2H2O → CH4 + 2O2), and methods that directly produce CH4 using a photosynthetic catalyst and CO2 + H2 in a methanation reactor. Methane may be produced using any of the methanation (methane production reactions) described above. To promote the Sabatier reaction 21, regenerative energy may be obtained using means 101 for generating kinetic, electrical, or thermal energy from the rotation of tires or engine heat, and that energy may be used in the Sabatier reaction 21.
[0028] Although not shown in Figure 4, a compressor 6 and a cylinder 10 (including a check valve 72 and a connection part 73) may be installed downstream of the Sabatier reaction 21 to pump some or all of the methane into the cylinder 10. After it is moved to a house, factory, or other external processing and utilization facility, the methane can be extracted to the outside through an external connection valve 73 and processed and utilized 11 as useful materials such as fuel, fertilizer, plastic materials, and synthetic resins. Note that the compressor 6 may be a single unit that serves both to compress and fill CO2 cylinders and methane cylinders.
[0029] According to the fourth embodiment of the present invention, not only is CO2 not emitted to the outside, but fuel is generated and added, improving fuel efficiency and reducing gasoline consumption. In addition, large quantities can be stored inside the vehicle and gas can be sold (bought and sold), thus reducing gasoline costs. Since gas is collected from individual users' cars, the external processing plant equipment 11 does not need to collect it itself, thus reducing costs.
[0030] [Fifth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 5(A) shows a fifth embodiment of the present invention, which is a transparent tube or cylinder equipped with a transparent solar sheet, and is characterized in that a part or all of the CO2 from a CO2 cassette or fixed cylinder is sent to a CO2 photocatalytic decomposition device installed on the roof of a car or the like, electrical energy is supplied if necessary to generate CO, the CO is compressed and filled into the cassette or fixed cylinder, and the CO2 and / or CO filled into the cassette or fixed cylinder can be processed and utilized externally.
[0031] As explained in Figure 5(A), the selected and purified CO22 is reduced to CO17 by light and catalyst in a CO2 photocatalytic apparatus 200 equipped with a photocatalytic catalyst 201. The CO is then compressed and filled into a CO cassette 8 or fixed cylinder 10 by a compressor 6. The CO is stored in the cassette or fixed cylinder 10 while the vehicle is in motion, and when the vehicle stops, the CO22 and / or CO gas 17 can be transferred to the outside of the vehicle for processing and utilization 11.
[0032] Processing and utilizing the gas outside the vehicle means, in the case of a cassette, as explained in Figure 2, removing the gas-filled cassette 8 from the in-vehicle mounting fixture 81 and selling the cassette 8 outside the vehicle, and then processing the CO gas 17 filled in that cassette at, for example, a factory 11. In the case of a fixed cylinder 10, as shown in Figure 3, the vehicle is brought to a processing and utilization factory, connected by a pipe at the pipe connection part 73 provided on the vehicle to the outside, and the CO gas 17 is transported to the processing and utilization factory for sale and processing 11.
[0033] As shown in Figure 5(B), the CO2 photoreduction catalyst device 200 is a plate-shaped (flat) tube or cylinder mounted on the roof of a car and irradiated with sunlight 19. A transparent solar panel 203 is stacked on the upper surface of the CO2 photoreduction catalyst device 200, and the device is configured to use regenerative energy 102, electrical energy utilizing the transparent solar panel 203, and electrical energy 202 from a battery. Alternatively, the photoreduction catalyst device 200 may be a device that uses light to decompose and reduce CO2 2 to CO 17 using a catalyst 201 such as diamond powder, without using electrical energy.
[0034] The photocatalytic device 200 may also be installed on the upper surface of the hood or trunk. Top views of the photocatalytic device 200 are shown in Figures 5(C1) and (C2). As an example of a layout for flowing CO2, Figure 5(C1) shows a parallel plate structure 204, in which CO2 is introduced from the upper left of the drawing and discharged from the center right or lower right, as indicated by the arrows. In addition to attaching the catalyst to the wall of a plate or the like by coating it, a flowing catalyst 201 made of solid granules may be used to promote contact with CO2. Alternatively, as shown in Figure 5(C2), a bellows-type pipe 205 may be used with the catalyst attached to its inner surface by coating it, thereby increasing the contact area between the CO2 gas and the catalyst and promoting the reaction.
[0035] CO2 2 is reduced by the catalytic reduction device 200 to produce CO 17 and O2. The mixed gas of O2 and CO 17 can be separated using a filter not shown in the diagram. The CO gas 17 is compressed by a compressor 6 using electricity 202 generated by regenerative energy (not shown in the diagram), compressed and filled into a cylinder 10, and stored inside the vehicle. The vehicle is then moved to an external processing location such as a home, factory, company, parking lot, or gas station, where the CO2 2 and / or CO 17 accumulated in the cylinder are transferred and used for fuel, fertilizer, naphtha synthesis for resin and fiber synthesis, tire raw material, or detoxification (processing utilization 11). Even in the case of a mixed product gas containing CO, O2, and unreacted CO2, it is more efficient and preferable to compress it with the compressor 6 and fill and store it in a cylinder. Alternatively, the mixed gas of O2 and CO17 after passing through the reduction catalyst device 200 may be pumped into the cylinder 10 by the compressor 6 for external separation and processing.
[0036] The photocatalytic device 200 is a catalytic reaction for artificial photosynthesis. The reaction is CO2 → CO + O* and 2O* → O2, so 2CO2 → 2CO + O2. In this way, CO2 is reduced to CO and O2.
[0037] The catalyst in the photoreduction catalyst device 200 may be a titanium oxide-based material, such as SrTiO3, and the temperature may be increased or ionization may be performed electrically. When promoting ionization using electricity, solar energy and regenerative energy may be used as electricity.
[0038] A process for re-reducing CO2 in this reduction operation may be provided. Alternatively, a separation process may be provided to separate the CO2 after reduction from the mixed gas of CO and O2. The separation process may use known distillation methods or a method using a filter (membrane). In the case of a reaction apparatus using sunlight 19 (photocatalytic reaction, diamond catalytic reaction, water splitting photocatalytic reaction), a transparent solar panel may be provided on the top surface of each reaction apparatus to utilize electrical energy as well. The photo-reduction catalyst apparatus 200 may also be provided on the surface of the hood or trunk to increase the area exposed to light and further improve efficiency.
[0039] According to the fifth embodiment of the present invention, the system has a simple configuration and is safe because it is stored in a cylinder during transport. Since CO2 is decomposed by solar energy and stored as CO gas 17, it can be used directly as a synthesis raw material after being taken out of the cylinder, further reducing costs.
[0040] [Sixth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 6 shows a sixth embodiment, characterized in that an artificial photosynthesis device is provided, which is a transparent tube (or cylinder) made of laminated plate-shaped transparent solar sheets that is exposed to light, part or all of the CO2 from the CO2 cassette or fixed cylinder is sent into the transparent tube, pure water which is also used as water for the radiator water tank that cools the engine is sent into the transparent tube, O2 is produced by the artificial photosynthesis device, and the O2 can be put into the engine as fuel and utilized. In other words, it is characterized in that O2 is produced by natural photosynthesis or artificial photosynthesis and solar power generation is carried out at the same time.
[0041] This will be explained with reference to Figure 6(A). Exhaust gas is filtered 4, and a portion of the separated CO2 2 is introduced into a natural or artificial photosynthesis catalytic reactor 40 (401, 404), which is a transparent tube made of stacked plate-shaped transparent solar sheets 203, to generate O2 18, which is then added 16 to the intake of a rotary engine or diesel (and modified thereof) engine 1 or a known engine to improve combustion efficiency. The above natural or artificial photosynthesis catalytic reactor 40 (401, 404) is installed on the roof or hood or trunk of the car. The transparent tube is not limited to a flat plate shape and may also be cylindrical. For this natural photosynthesis, using C4 plants is efficient. For example, grass 404, corn, sugarcane, etc. are preferred.
[0042] Figure 6(A) shows that only CO2 is filled into cylinders and transported to a processing and utilization plant. However, O2 gas may also be compressed with compressor 6, filled into cylinder 10, transported to a processing and utilization plant, and then processed and utilized.
[0043] Figure 6(B) shows the cross-sectional structure of an artificial photosynthesis catalyst reactor 40 (401, 404) installed on the roof of a car. Figure 6(B) (B1) shows photosynthetic material 401 placed on a transparent or opaque solar sheet 402, with H2O 13 and CO2 2 supplied to the photosynthetic material 401 to generate O2 18. Since electricity is not required for photosynthesis, the electricity generated by the solar is stored in energy storage 103. If the photosynthetic material on the solar is opaque, the solar sheet 402 and the photosynthetic material 401 may be arranged in a checkerboard pattern to allow power generation and photosynthesis to occur simultaneously. Figure 6(B) (B2) shows a transparent solar panel 203 attached to the top and photosynthetic material 401 placed on a culture medium 403. The solar panel 203 can receive sunlight sufficiently. For example, a perovskite type solar cell can be used for the transparent solar panel 203. Figure 6(B)(B3) shows a structure with a transparent solar panel 203 attached to the top, and a plant planting section 405 made of, for example, plywood or non-permeable potting soil, on which the aforementioned C4 plants, such as grass 404, are laid. Since the plants grow naturally with only the supply of CO2 2 and H2O 13, it is very environmentally friendly. In addition, the planting section 405 and grass 404 can be arranged in multiple layers to allow for efficient photosynthesis.
[0044] According to the sixth embodiment of the present invention, not only is CO₂ treated and utilized externally, but solar energy is also used, and naturally growing plants are employed to generate oxygen as a driving force, which is very environmentally friendly, further improves engine efficiency, and reduces gasoline costs.
[0045] [Seventh Embodiment of the Present Invention] Fig. 7 is a diagram showing the seventh embodiment of the present invention, which is a transparent tube (or cylinder) provided with a plate-shaped transparent solar sheet, and is provided with a CO₂ photocatalytic reduction device arranged to be irradiated with light, a part or all of the CO₂ in the CO₂ cassette or fixed cylinder is pressed into the transparent tube by compression or the like, the cylinder for CO generated by decomposition inside the transparent tube also serves as the CO₂ photocatalytic reduction device, and the compressed CO₂ and / or CO and / or O₂ can be taken out to the outside for treatment and utilization.
[0046] Explaining based on Fig. 7, the compressor 6 is placed in front (upstream side) of the cylinder 206 that doubles as a plate-shaped CO₂ photoreduction catalyst device and a cylinder, and part or all of CO₂ 2 is compressed and injected. In addition, a plate-shaped transparent solar sheet 203 is provided on the upper surface of the cylinder 206 that doubles as the device and the cylinder. Then, the CO₂ 2 press-fitted into the cylinder can efficiently generate CO 17 by the electricity 103 generated by the photocatalytic reduction product 201 and the solar unit 203. Further, a device for separating CO may be provided after the cylinder 206 that doubles as the CO₂ photoreduction catalyst device and the cylinder. Then, the vehicle is moved to a treatment and utilization plant, and CO 17 is sold as gas via the connection part 73 for treatment and utilization 11.
[0047] In addition, unreacted CO₂ and a mixed gas of CO and O₂ may be separated and used in a treatment and utilization plant. The cylinder 206 that doubles as the O₂ photoreduction catalyst device and the cylinder has a substantially transparent parallel plate structure in which CO₂ is introduced from a side corner portion of the cylinder as shown in Fig. 5 (C1) and the opposite side surface serves as an outlet. Further, in order to improve efficiency, a parallel coasting pipe structure arranged with bellows pipes as shown in Fig. 5 (C2) may be adopted. The cylinder 206 that doubles as the CO₂ photoreduction catalyst device and the cylinder may have a cylindrical transparent tank shape instead of a plate shape.
[0048] According to the seventh embodiment of the present invention, since the CO2 photocatalyst is pumped into a cylinder that serves both as the O2 photocatalyst and the cylinder, without using a dedicated cylinder or cassette, the efficiency of the CO2 photodecomposition device can be increased, the configuration can be simplified, and costs can be reduced.
[0049] [Eighth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 8 shows an eighth embodiment of the present invention, characterized in that a portion of the CO2 is transported to an external location and sold to a processing and utilization plant or storage location such as a gas station for processing and utilization, and a portion or all of the CO2 is sent to a CO2 photocatalytic decomposition device which is a transparent tube or cylinder equipped with a plate-shaped transparent solar sheet and exposed to light, and if necessary, electrical energy is supplied, the CO2 photocatalytic decomposition device generates CO, the electrolysis device generates H2 and O2 with pure water in a tank which also serves as radiator water for cooling the engine, the methane (CH4) synthesis device generates methane from the CO and H2, and the methane and O2 can be put into the engine as fuel and utilized.
[0050] As explained in Figure 8, a portion of the CO2 2 that has been filtered 4 from the exhaust gas and filled into a cylinder 10 is introduced into a CO2 photocatalytic device 200 that photo-reduces CO to CO. The CO2 photocatalytic device 200 is supplied with CO2 photocatalytic reduced product 201 and electrical energy 202. The electrical energy is electricity generated by the solar panel 203 or regenerative energy 102 and stored in a battery 103. Then, CO 17 is produced in the same manner as in Figure 5. In addition, the water 13 in the pure water tank 12 for cooling water around the engine is electrolyzed 50 using electricity stored in the battery 103 with regenerative energy 102 obtained from the tires 103, etc., to produce H2 14 and O2 18. Alternatively, an electrolysis reaction 30 using a catalyst may be used instead of electrolysis. Then, CH4 (methane) 15 is produced by a methane synthesis reaction 22 using the CO 17 and H2 14. The gasoline engine 1 is supplied with the aforementioned CH4 15 and O2 18 produced by electrolysis 50 simultaneously with the gasoline, to be used as part of the energy supply 16.
[0051] The CH4 gas produced by the reaction of CO2 17 and H2 14 22 can be compressed and pumped into a cylinder 10 by a compressor 6, as shown by the dashed line in Figure 8, and, similar to CO2 2, moved to a processing and utilization plant, connected to an external pipe and connection part 73, and taken out for sale or processing and utilization 11.
[0052] According to the eighth embodiment of the present invention, since CH4 or O2 is generated and added as energy, fuel efficiency is improved and gasoline consumption is reduced. In addition, since a large amount can be stored in the vehicle, the amount of gas sold can increase and gasoline prices can be reduced. Furthermore, when CH4 or O2 is used as energy, the drive engine does not require major modifications, resulting in low costs.
[0053] [Ninth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 9 shows a ninth embodiment of the present invention, characterized in that part or all of the CO2 from a CO2 cassette or fixed cylinder is introduced into the engine 70, and pure water 13, which is also used as radiator water 12 for cooling the engine, is sprayed into the engine 70 and utilized as energy.
[0054] As explained in Figure 9, a portion of the CO22 that has been filtered and selected from the exhaust gas is filled into a cylinder 10 and introduced into an improved gasoline or diesel engine 70 that can be reduced at high temperature and pressure. As shown in the enlarged view of the vicinity of the injection of the gasoline or diesel engine 70, at the same time as introducing CO22, heated water 13 is introduced from a pure water tank 12, which is also used as radiator water to cool the engine, through the injection section inside the improved engine 70. The injection needle 704 is adjusted and controlled to spray 703 together with fuel 705, directly generating CO, H2, and O2, and these gases are burned to obtain driving energy. In addition, a portion of the CO22 filled into the cylinder 10 is moved to a processing and utilization plant, where it is taken out of the vehicle and processed and utilized 11.
[0055] According to the ninth embodiment of the present invention, CO2 is not released to the outside at all and is recycled as energy, thus eliminating environmental problems caused by CO2. A simple mechanism using only CO2 and water can increase engine efficiency and reduce gasoline consumption.
[0056] [Tenth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 10 shows the tenth embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in the enlarged view of the vicinity of the cylinder of the engine 701, a reduction catalyst 702 is provided in the cylinder section 706, and part or all of the CO2 2 from the CO2 cassette or fixed cylinder 10 is introduced into the cylinder 706, and the CO2 2 comes into contact with the catalyst 702 at high temperature and pressure by the vertical movement of the cylinder head 707, and the strong reduction catalyst 702 generates CO, which is mixed with fuel 705 and the atmosphere and burned as energy. If necessary, water may be added (sprayed) to generate ethylene (C2H4) and used as fuel. The strong reducing agent is a metal and is efficiently reduced by being part of the upper structure of the cylinder 707.
[0057] According to the tenth embodiment of the present invention, energy can be extracted by contacting CO2 with a strong reduction catalyst at high temperature and pressure, and the CO2 can be selectively extracted from the exhaust gas again, thereby enabling recycling.
[0058] [Eleventh Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 11 shows an eleventh embodiment of the present invention, which is a detachable adapter device installed on the exhaust gas pipe 104 of an automobile 100, characterized in that it is a CO2 treatment adapter device capable of treating CO2, which separates only CO2 with a CO2 separation unit 61 and stores it in a tank 65, and only the separated CO2 tank 65 filled with CO2 can be taken to a treatment plant company and sold.
[0059] Figure 11(A) shows a configuration in which a CO2 separation unit 61 is provided in front of the tank 65 (upstream of the exhaust gas flow), separating only CO2 and filling the tank 65, while exhausting the remaining gases 63 into the atmosphere. Figure 11(B) shows a configuration in which a CO2 separation unit 68 is provided behind the tank 65 (downstream of the exhaust gas flow), and the CO2 separation unit 68 is a membrane that adsorbs CO2 and allows other gases to pass through. For example, a porous coordination polymer or chelating agent is used to adsorb CO2 and allow other gases to pass through. The tank will be filled with gas containing CO2, but the CO2 concentration inside the tank will increase through repeated adsorption and desorption. This configuration has the advantage of being simple in structure and easy to install, although the CO2 concentration does not rise easily. Figure 11(C) shows a configuration in which CO2 separation units 69 and 68 are provided in front of and behind the tank 65. A separation membrane 69 that primarily allows CO2 to pass through is provided in front of the tank 65 (upstream of the exhaust gas flow). This membrane does not need to be a dense membrane at the molecular level, but at least it is a membrane that can remove and discharge large particles such as carbon 63 and allow CO2 to pass through or adsorb. Then, the CO2 separation section 68 behind the tank 65 (downstream of the exhaust gas flow) is an adsorption separation section to increase the CO2 purity of the tank. It is preferable to use a membrane made of MOF that adsorbs CO2 and allows other substances to pass through.
[0060] In each case, sensors measure the pressure, CO2 concentration, and temperature of the exhaust gas before it passes through the CO2 separation unit 61, the exhaust gas containing non-CO2 gases, and the gas in the CO2 tank 65. The monitoring and control unit 62 then controls the CO2 to achieve the maximum yield. Sensors also detect whether a predetermined amount of CO2 gas 2 has been filled into the CO2 tank 65, and an alarm is sent to the driver of the vehicle 100 via the control unit 62. The driver then closes the shutter 64, separates the CO2 tank 65 from the adapter device of the present invention, and replaces it with a new CO2 tank 65. The CO2 tank 65, now filled with CO2 gas 2, is then sold to a company and transported to a processing plant for use, similar to the process shown in Figures 2 to 10. Alternatively, instead of removing and replacing the CO2 tank 65, the entire adapter device of the present invention may be replaced. Furthermore, by standardizing the CO2 tank 65 and selling the CO2 tank 65 alone after the CO2 gas has been removed, the cost of this device can be reduced.
[0061] The connection between the exhaust gas pipe 104 of the automobile 100 and the present invention is provided with a rubber or resin seal, which is a contact member that seals, holds, and can be attached and detached from the exhaust gas pipe 104. This seal is provided on a rubber or resin seal, and the structure is such that exhaust gas does not leak from the exhaust gas pipe 104 to the outside of the adapter device of the present invention, and exhaust gas is introduced into the adapter device of the present invention. Furthermore, the connection between the exhaust gas pipe 104 and the present invention has a long pleated structure so that the size of the seal 60 can be adjusted as appropriate to match the size of the vehicle's exhaust gas pipe 104. In addition, although the adapter device of the present invention is fixed only to the exhaust gas pipe 104, if the fixing is insufficient, a fixing support (not shown) may be provided to fix it to the automobile 100 body.
[0062] The exhaust gas generated by burning gasoline or other fuel in the engine of vehicle 100 is pressurized (~20 kgw / cm²) by the engine's discharge pressure and introduced into the device of the present invention installed in the exhaust gas pipe 104. It is then led to the adapter device of the present invention. It is then led to filters 61, 68, and 69, which are CO2 separation membranes, where CO2 is separated from the pressurized exhaust gas by the filters, and gases other than CO2 are released to the outside 63. Although the gas enters the filter membrane under pressurization (for example, 0.5 to 20 kgw / cm²), the controller 62 monitors and controls the pressure loss at the filter inlet and the CO2 tank 65. Temperature and CO2 concentration are also measured 65 and monitored by the controller 62. To control pressure, flow rate, and temperature inside the device, exhaust gas adjustment valves (butterfly valves, regulators, etc.) or shutters (not shown) are provided and controlled in the exhaust pipe 63 or exhaust gas pipe 104 where gases other than CO2 are discharged. Alternatively, the temperature of the filtered section may be controlled by a heater or cooler (not shown).
[0063] The filter 61 may be used with an adsorbent such as MOF coated on it. The film thickness of the adsorbent should be 100 nm (0.1 μm) or less, and by passing the CO2 through this filter multiple times (two or more times), the CO2 can be selectively separated and its purity can be increased. The material to be coated on the filter in this case is, for example, a porous resin such as a nonwoven fabric. A highly flat cloth or a film with fine pores may also be used. However, if the film thickness of the adsorbent is 1 mm to 100 nm, the pressure loss will be large and it will not be suitable as a filter. Also, the tank 65 in Figure 11(B) or Figure 11(C) may be filled with the MOF or other adsorbent.
[0064] The CO2 tank 65 is sealed by a valve 64 when the handle is turned, and has a detachable structure at the separation flange portion. The CO2 tank 65 can be removed, carried, and taken to a processing plant for sale.
[0065] According to the 11th embodiment, no modification is required to the mobile unit itself; the present invention is simply installed on the exhaust gas pipe of the mobile unit. Therefore, CO2 can be separated and treated at a low cost, sold separately from the mobile unit itself. Furthermore, if installed on many mobile units, CO2 emissions can be reduced even as the number of vehicles increases, and gasoline prices can be lowered without using taxes.
[0066] [Twelfth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 12 shows a twelveth embodiment of the present invention, characterized by an adapter installed in the exhaust gas pipe 104, which pressurizes the exhaust gas with a compressor 66, separates CO2 through a membrane separation section 61 that allows only CO2 to pass through, and stores the CO2 in a tank 65. When a predetermined amount is filled, an alarm is issued to the driver from the controller 62 and a request is made to replace the CO2 tank 65. Then, the separation valve 64 is closed, the CO2 tank 65 is removed and sold to a processing plant company, which processes the CO2 and utilizes it.
[0067] The aforementioned membrane-like separation section (separator) 61 that allows only CO2 to pass through is a permeable CO2 purification filter such as an ionic liquid membrane or a CO2 separation nanofilter membrane (a thin film with fine pores ranging from 1 nanometer to several tens of nanometers, such as a carbon fiber membrane, membrane membrane, or porous metal membrane, that has CO2 capture and selectivity). A metal-organic structure (MOF) having pores the size of a CO2 molecule may also be used as the permeable nanopurification filter. The compressor 66 can be added to the configuration described in the 11th embodiment. The controller 62 controls valves and valves provided in the compressor and exhaust section 63, etc., to balance the pressure in the membrane-like separation section (separator) 61.
[0068] According to the twelfth embodiment of the present invention, CO2 is separated by applying pressure to the exhaust gas with a compressor, which has the effect of being efficient and enabling separation.
[0069] [Third Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 13 shows a thirteenth embodiment of the present invention, which is a CO2 treatment device that uses an adapter installed on an exhaust gas pipe 104 to suck in the CO2 separation unit 61 from the rear with a vacuum pump, separates only the CO2 and stores it in a tank 65, and allows only the CO2 tank to be treated at a treatment plant as needed. The replacement of the CO2 tank 65 is the same as in the other embodiments.
[0070] The pump 606 that draws suction from the filter of the CO2 separation unit 61 should be small and have high suction power (for example, a rotary pump or a diaphragm pump).
[0071] According to the 13th embodiment of the present invention, when CO2 is separated by pressurization, there is a risk of compressed exhaust gas being ejected from pipe joints, etc. However, since the CO2 separation unit 61 is sucked, CO2 separation can be performed safely without leaking exhaust gas. Furthermore, it has the excellent effect of being easily installed in any car simply by being attached to the exhaust gas pipe 104. Moreover, it has a compact and simple design. When a nanofilter membrane is used as the separation membrane of the CO2 separation unit and has a thickness of several tens of nanometers, the efficiency is increased and it is effective.
[0072] [14th Embodiment of the Invention] Figures 14 and 15 show the 14th embodiment of the present invention, in which an adapter-type tank is provided on the exhaust gas exhaust pipe 104 with a rubber or other adhesive holder 80, and CO2 separation is performed using a metal-organic frame (MOF). Figure 14(A) shows a configuration in which the CO2 separation section 803 is an MOF thin film that adsorbs only CO2 made from cobalt ions or the like, and exhausts everything except CO2 804, with the CO2 tank and membrane channel 802 serving the same purpose. Figure 14(B) shows a configuration in which MOF is filled into the tank 806 as a CO2 adsorption packing agent. Also, Figure 15(A) shows a heat-resistant rubber balloon 92 having micropores provided on the exhaust gas exhaust pipe 104, and the rubber balloon is fixed to the exhaust pipe by being tightly attached with a clip 90. The heat-resistant rubber balloon is made of a porous material mixed with MOF, and shows a configuration in which CO2 is adsorbed and everything except CO2 is released. Furthermore, Figure 15(B) shows an invention in which a rubber balloon 94, which has MOF coated on the inner surface of a heat-resistant rubber balloon that does not allow gas to pass through, is provided in the exhaust gas exhaust pipe, and an MOF-based CO2 adsorbent (which allows other gases to pass through) is filled into the rubber balloon.
[0073] Each configuration will be explained according to the drawings. Figure 14(A) is an adapter-type CO2 filling tank 802, which introduces exhaust gas generated when the mobile body moves, has a MOF CO2 separation membrane 803 installed at the rear to discharge gases other than CO2 to the outside 804, releases CO2 that has permeated the CO2 separation membrane into the tank 802, making the gas in the tank 802 almost entirely CO2, shields the tank 802 with a shutter 801 and separates it from the exhaust pipe 104, and is characterized by selling and replacing the tank 802 together.
[0074] The tank of the present invention serves as both a separation membrane installation section and a CO2 release tank. The CO2 separation membrane 803, which allows gases other than CO2 to pass through, is made of MOF (Mechanical Oxide Fiber) and is provided on the surface of a porous material using a membrane film. The MOF selectively separates CO2, allowing CO2 to permeate the membrane, and the gases other than CO2 are released from the exhaust pipe 804.
[0075] The CO2 separation membrane 803 is structured so that the exhaust gas comes into contact with the membrane multiple times over a large area (for example, by making it pleated or by winding it into a cylindrical shape). If CO2 remains in the permeating gas (detected by a sensor by the monitoring and control 805), a line may be added to re-separate the exhaust gas and return it to the vicinity of the exhaust gas pipe 104. Furthermore, to increase the CO2 concentration in the tank 802 (to make it CO2-rich), for example, when the pressure reaches a predetermined level (pressure gauge not shown) or after a predetermined time, the pressure is reduced and heating is applied to encourage the release of CO2 from the MOF into the tank 802, and CO2 separation is performed again by the filter 803. This may be repeated continuously. Heating is performed using engine heat from a mobile vehicle or the like. When the tank 802 becomes CO2-rich, the monitoring and control unit 805 alerts the driver, the shutters 801 on both sides of the tank 802 are closed, the adapter device of the present invention is removed, and a new adapter device of the present invention is installed. According to the configuration and materials shown in Figure 14 (A), although the O2 concentration does not rise easily, it has the advantages of a simple structure, low cost, and easy installation.
[0076] In Figure 14(B), when the MOF adsorbent-containing tank 806 reaches its adsorption limit (due to the adsorption of CO2 by the MOF) based on measurements of changes in weight and pressure loss, the tank 806 is shielded by the shutter 801, separated from the exhaust pipe, and sold and replaced along with the tank 086. A CO2 separation section 803 and shutter 801 are provided behind the MOF adsorbent-containing tank 806 to prevent CO2 from leaking to the outside. The configuration and materials in Figure 14(B) allow for effective CO2 recovery, and since the CO2 is adsorbed by the MOF, the overall volume is reduced, and the container can also be made smaller.
[0077] Figure 15(A) shows a heat-resistant porous elastic balloon tank 91 (for example, a mesh-like structure) attached to the exhaust gas pipe 104 by a clip 90. The balloon tank 91 is made of a porous filler 92 mixed with MOF. When exhaust gas is introduced into the balloon tank 91 and pressure is applied, the balloon inflates and the temperature rises. CO2 begins to be adsorbed by the MOF porous filler, and as the balloon inflates to a certain extent, the diameter of the pores in the balloon also increases, allowing more gas to escape. Therefore, depending on the exhaust gas flow rate, the balloon will not inflate beyond a predetermined level. The controller 96 monitors the differential pressure, temperature, and amount of CO2. When the internal pressure of the balloon or the contact time with the exhaust gas reaches a predetermined value, the balloon clip 90 is loosened, the balloon tank 91 is removed from the exhaust pipe 104, the opening of the balloon is closed with the clip 90, and it is placed inside the mobile unit. A new balloon tank 91 is then attached to the exhaust pipe 104 with a new clip 90. Then, multiple balloon tanks 91 filled with CO2 are bundled together and taken to a processing and utilization plant for sale.
[0078] Figure 15(B) shows an exhaust gas pipe 104 to which a heat-resistant, gas-impermeable elastic rubber balloon 94 is attached by a clip 90. This balloon 94 also serves as a CO2 tank. The balloon 94 is filled with MOF, which is a particulate or powdered CO2 adsorbent 95. When exhaust gas is introduced into the balloon 94 and pressure is applied, the balloon 94 expands and its temperature rises, but because it contains a large amount of porous MOF filler 95, the CO2 is adsorbed, and the overall volume increase of the exhaust gas is moderate. However, if the balloon expands too much, it may burst, so the balloon may have micropores. The controller 96 monitors the differential pressure, temperature, and CO2 amount. When the internal pressure of the balloon or the exhaust gas volume reaches a predetermined value, it issues an alarm to the operator. The balloon clip 90 is then loosened, the balloon tank 94 is removed from the exhaust pipe 104, the balloon opening is re-closed with the clip 90, and the balloon is placed inside the mobile unit before being taken to a processing and utilization plant for sale. At the processing plant, the porous packing material 95 of the MOF is subjected to predetermined depressurization and heating to remove the CO2 and utilize it.
[0079] As shown in Figures 15(A) and (B), the empty tanks are lightweight and small, being balloons, so multiple units can be prepared on a mobile device, making them very convenient.
[0080] [15th Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 16 shows the 15th embodiment of the present invention, in which a cassette filled with MOF 82 is attached to a mobile body using an in-vehicle mounting device 81, exhaust gas 3 is passed through the cassette 8 filled with MOF 82, only CO2 is adsorbed by the MOF, gases other than CO2 5 are discharged into the atmosphere, and the CO2-filled cassette 8 is sold to a processing and utilization plant 9.
[0081] According to the 15th embodiment of the present invention, exhaust gas can be collected solely as CO2 by simply installing a cassette 8 inside the vehicle, and since MOF can adsorb a large amount of CO2, the size of the cassette can be reduced. Furthermore, the cassette can be recycled by regenerating the filler material and reused in the vehicle, resulting in efficient recycling.
[0082] Figures 17 to 19 are block diagrams showing the flow of exhaust gas according to various CO2 separation methods. The matters disclosed in Figures 17 to 19 can also be applied to the 11th to 15th embodiments of the present invention. The dashed-dotted line indicates the adapter device. The dashed line indicates a compressor (pressurization) or vacuum (depressurization) pump, and shows a block diagram of the exhaust gas flow when a pump is added (Figures 17 and 19). However, this compressor and vacuum pump may be applied in any embodiment. Furthermore, the compressor may be installed inside the mobile body 100 as shown in Figure 12.
[0083] [16th Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 17 shows the 16th embodiment of the present invention, which is an adapter device of the present invention that fills a tank with CO2 by a CO2 separation method using a membrane separation method (a thin film material that can select porous molecules such as a membrane, carbon fiber, or MOF).
[0084] In Figure 17(A), the engine exhaust gas 3, after being treated by known means such as a three-way catalytic converter to remove harmful gases such as NOx and dust 31, enters the exhaust pipe 104 and is introduced into a CO2 separation membrane 61 installed in the exhaust pipe. The CO2 is introduced into the CO2 separation membrane 61 using only the engine's exhaust pressure, or the exhaust gas pressure is increased by a pump (compressor) 66 before being introduced into the CO2 separation membrane 61. The pressure in front of the separation membrane is controlled to be, for example, 0.5 to 20 kgw / cm2. Pressure sensors and the pressure and differential pressure in front of the membrane are managed (see Figures 11-15), but the differential pressure is controlled by adjusting the discharge amount of a pressure control valve (a valve with functions such as pressure control, check valve, and flow control) 621 and a pressurizing pump 66 installed in the exhaust pipe other than the CO2. This ensures that only CO2 passes through the separation membrane 61 and is separated stably. Gases other than CO2 are either discharged outside the vehicle 63 or returned upstream of the pump (compressor) 66 as re-separated gas via the re-separation line 69. Whether to discharge outside the vehicle or return as re-separated gas is switched as needed by an automatic switching valve 622 based on pressure and flow rate. The separated CO2 is filled into the CO2 tank 65. If the filling pressure is low, a compressor for pressurization may be provided. When the amount of CO2 in the tank 65 reaches a predetermined amount, the tank and line are shut off by the shutter 640 and shut-off valve 641, the tank 65 (and shutter 640) are removed and sold to a processing plant.
[0085] Figure 17(B) is a block diagram showing the exhaust gas flow of an adapter device in which a pump (vacuum pump) 67 is installed behind the membrane separation unit 61. This adapter device differs from Figure 17(A) in the installation position of the pump (compressor, vacuum pump). As explained in Figure 13, the CO2 separation unit 61 is drawn in from the rear by the vacuum pump 67 to separate only CO2 from the exhaust gas and store it in the tank 65. If necessary, the CO2 tank 65 and the line are shut off by the shutter 640 and shut-off valve 641, the tank 65 is removed and sold to a processing plant, and the CO2 is properly treated.
[0086] According to this 16th embodiment, since it is a membrane separation method, the structure is simpler than other methods, and the adapter device of the present invention can be made lightweight and compact. Furthermore, the configuration in Figure 17(B) prevents exhaust gas from leaking to the outside even if there is a device malfunction such as a poor connection of the CO2 separation membrane adapter, as it is still sucked in, thus preventing disasters.
[0087] [17th Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 18(A) shows the 17th embodiment of the present invention, which is an adapter device of the present invention that uses a chemical absorption separation method for CO2 separation 681. It has a chemical absorption device section 682 for an amine-based agent and a processing section 683 for CO2 release and regeneration. In the chemical absorption device section 682, exhaust gas 3 is showered or bubbling to absorb or react CO2 with, for example, an amine-based solvent. The solution is provided to circulate between the chemical absorption device 682 that absorbs (reacts) CO2 and the CO2 release and regeneration device 683, which is a processing section for regeneration. In the release and regeneration device 683, the circulating solution is heated to about 100 to 120 degrees using the heat of the engine and the heat of the heater 101, and CO2 is released from the solution, and only CO2 is recovered and filled into the tank 65. The solution is cooled again and circulated back to the chemical absorption device section 682. The solution in the chemical absorption separation method 681 may be a liquid or a semi-solid form absorbed by a solid. In the case of a liquid, it is necessary to adjust the exhaust gas volume and liquid flow rate, so sensors and liquid flow rate control means are provided in the chemical absorption device and the processing unit for regeneration. In addition, the exhaust gas volume and pressure are controlled by a pressure control valve 621 provided in the exhaust pipe 63 other than CO2. The chemical absorption separation method has the advantage of being able to process large quantities of CO2 because it absorbs it rapidly.
[0088] [Eighteenth Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 18(B) shows the eighteenth embodiment of the present invention, an adapter device of the present invention that uses a porous adsorbent to preferentially adsorb CO2 (filled) using an adsorption separation method 684, and after adsorption of CO2, appropriately separates only the CO2 and fills it into a tank. CO2 separation shown in Figures 14, 15, 16, etc. is an adapter device in which a porous adsorbent is simply filled into a container such as a tank or balloon, but this embodiment is an adapter device that is equipped with a porous adsorption section 685 and a regeneration section 686, and is also capable of continuous CO2 separation processing. The porous adsorption material is the same as that described in Figures 14, 15, 16, etc., and the exhaust gas treatment route is also the same. If the adsorbent material being filled is movable (for example, powder, granules, or liquid), a chemical adsorption device 685 and a CO2 separation and regeneration device 686 can be provided so that the material circulates. The heat 101 of the engine is used in the CO2 separation and regeneration device. Furthermore, if the packing material is solid, granular, or otherwise difficult to move, a batch system can be used in which the flow path for exhaust gas 3 is periodically switched, thereby separating the location where the exhaust gas is adsorbed from the location where CO2 is separated, and continuing the CO2 adsorption process. In addition, a compressor may be installed to pressurize the exhaust gas to promote CO2 adsorption. Since adsorbent material is readily available in large quantities, this method offers cost advantages compared to other methods. It also promotes the recycling of adapters.
[0089] [19th Embodiment of the Invention] Figure 19 shows a 19th embodiment of the invention, which is an adapter device of the present invention that adds an adsorption separation method 684 to a CO2 membrane separation method 61, and shows a block diagram illustrating the flow of exhaust gas. Embodiments of the CO2 membrane separation method are shown, specifically a method of pressurizing with a compressor 66 (Figure 19(A)) and a method of depressurizing with a vacuum pump 67 (Figure 19(B)).
[0090] Figure 19(A) shows the adapter device of the present invention, which has a membrane separation type separation unit 61 after the compressor 66, an adsorption separation type CO2 separation unit 684 further behind it, and a tank 65 after that. The adsorption separation type CO2 separation unit 684 is equipped with a CO2 release and regeneration device (not shown) and regenerates the adsorbent material using engine heat, etc. The adsorbent material may also be regenerated in a batch type by providing multiple CO2 release and regeneration device chambers and regenerating sequentially. Furthermore, if it is difficult to balance the pressure loss of the membrane separation type separation unit 61 and the pressure of the adsorption separation type separation unit 684, it is advisable to provide control valves 621 or re-separation lines 69 in the adsorption separation type separation unit as well for control.
[0091] Figure 19(B) shows the adapter device of the present invention, which includes a membrane separation type separation unit 61, which is pulled from the rear by a vacuum pump 67, and further rear is an adsorption separation type CO2 separation unit 684, followed by a tank 65. The vacuum pump 67 can serve both to depressurize the membrane separation type separation unit and to pressurize the adsorption separation type CO2 separation unit.
[0092] According to this embodiment, CO2 separation is performed in two stages using different methods, allowing for the separation of large quantities of CO2 with high purity. In addition to this embodiment, a chemical absorption method may be used instead of the adsorption separation method. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 11(C), the tank may be placed behind the membrane separation section, and then the adsorption separation CO2 separation section may be placed thereafter.
[0093] As described above, in the embodiments of the present invention, the treatment of CO2 and other gases is carried out using an in-vehicle device or a device in a treatment and utilization plant. However, the scope of the present invention also includes the utilization of CO2 or gases generated from CO2 on the roofs of houses, chemical plants, and businesses. This technology is not limited to mobile vehicles, but can be applied to all exhaust gases that generate CO2 by burning fossil fuels.
[0094] This invention is environmentally friendly and cost-effective, especially given rising gasoline prices. It has high industrial value and represents a significant contribution.
