Description

Skin or hair cleansing composition

[0001] The present invention relates to a skin or hair cleansing composition.

[0002] In skin cleansing compositions, surfactants with excellent cleansing power and foaming properties, such as anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants, and amphoteric surfactants, are used to achieve superior cleansing power and abundant foam. On the other hand, the surface of the skin is composed of the stratum corneum, the outermost layer, which has a mortar-like structure in which 10 to 20 layers of corneocytes are stacked with intercellular lipids in between. The damage that cleansing compositions inflict on the stratum corneum can be mainly divided into the degeneration and swelling of corneocytes and the elution of intercellular lipids. Some surfactants, when used repeatedly on the skin, can swell corneocytes and wash away components that should remain on the skin. Therefore, in addition to excellent cleansing power and foam production, it is necessary to be mild on corneocytes in terms of gentleness on the skin. However, since the surfactants used in cleansing compositions each have different effects on corneocytes and intercellular lipids, conventional cleansing compositions, even if they can protect corneocytes, have not been able to sufficiently suppress the elution of intercellular lipids, and have not been sufficiently mild on the skin. In response to this, a detergent has been reported that, in addition to anionic and amphoteric surfactants, contains a specific amount of polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester or polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid ester, which can suppress the elution of intercellular lipids while maintaining a rich foam volume (Patent Document 1). However, the mildness on the skin is not easily perceived by consumers during actual use, and there remains a challenge in experiencing the effect of mildness.

[0003] (Patent Document 1) Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2020-2000324

[0004] One embodiment of the present invention is a skin or hair cleansing composition comprising the following components (A), (B), (C), and (D): (A) an amphoteric surfactant, (B) polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate having an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added of 20 to 50, (C) one or more anionic surfactants selected from (C1) polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether carboxylic acid or a salt thereof, (C2) acylated amino acids or a salt thereof, and (C3) N-methyl-acyl taurine or a salt thereof, and (D) a fatty acid alkanolamide, wherein the mass ratio of component (A) to component (B) ((A) / (B)) is 0.1 to 20, and the mass ratio of component (C) to component (B) ((C) / (B)) is 0.1 to 25. Detailed description of the invention

[0005] Terms used herein shall be used in the sense commonly used in the art unless otherwise specified.

[0006] The present invention provides a skin or hair cleansing composition that, in addition to maintaining the amount of foam and suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids, has appropriate viscosity stability (25°C), is easy to pick up and lather, and has a user-friendly feel.

[0007] As a result of various studies, the inventors have found that by combining polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate, which has an average number of ethylene oxide addition moles of 20 to 50, with a specific anionic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, and a fatty acid alkanolamide in a specific ratio, a skin or hair cleansing composition can be obtained that maintains foam volume and suppresses the elution of intercellular lipids, while also having appropriate viscosity stability (25°C), being easy to pick up and lather, and providing a user-friendly feel.

[0008] The skin or hair cleansing composition of the present invention maintains foam volume and suppresses the elution of intercellular lipids, while also providing moderate viscosity stability (at 25°C), making it easy to pick up, lather, and offering a user-friendly experience.

[0009] The present invention relates to a skin or hair cleansing composition containing an amphoteric surfactant, polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate having an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added of 20 to 50, a specific anionic surfactant, and a fatty acid alkanolamide, one embodiment thereof containing the following components (A), (B), (C), and (D): (A) an amphoteric surfactant, (B) polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate having an average number of moles of ethylene oxide added of 20 to 50, (C) one or more anionic surfactants selected from (C1) polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether carboxylic acid or a salt thereof, (C2) acylated amino acid or a salt thereof, and (C3) N-methyl-acyl taurine or a salt thereof, and (D) a fatty acid alkanolamide, wherein the mass ratio of component (A) to component (B) ((A) / (B)) is 0.1 to 20. A skin or hair cleansing composition in which the mass ratio of component (C) to component (B) ((C) / (B)) is 0.1 to 25.

[0010] Examples of amphoteric surfactants used in the present invention include amide betaine-type surfactants such as coconut oil fatty acid amidopropyl betaine and lauric acid amidopropyl betaine; sulfobetaine-type surfactants such as lauryl hydroxysulfobetaine; imidazolinium betaine-type surfactants such as 2-alkyl-N-carboxymethyl-N-hydroxyethylimidazolinium betaine; acetate betaine-type surfactants such as lauryldimethylaminoacetic acid betaine; and amine oxide-type surfactants such as lauryldimethylamine oxide. Of these, amide betaine-type surfactants are more preferred from the viewpoint of suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids while also achieving viscosity stability and a pleasant feel.

[0011] The amphoteric surfactant of component (A) can be used in combination of one or more types. The content of component (A) is preferably 0.05% by mass or more, more preferably 0.1% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.5% by mass or more, and even more preferably 1% by mass or more, in the total composition, from the viewpoint of achieving both viscosity stability and usability in addition to suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of viscosity stability and usability, it is preferably 15% by mass or less, more preferably 10% by mass or less, even more preferably 8% by mass or less, and even more preferably 6% by mass or less. In addition, the content of component (A) is preferably 0.05 to 15% by mass, more preferably 0.1 to 15% by mass, even more preferably 0.1 to 10% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.5 to 8% by mass, and even more preferably 1 to 6% by mass, in the total composition, from the viewpoint of achieving both viscosity stability and usability in addition to suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids.

[0012] As component (B) of the present invention, polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate is used, having an average number of ethylene oxide added moles of 20 to 50, from the viewpoint of inhibiting the elution of intercellular lipids. The average number of ethylene oxide added to component (B) is more preferably 25 to 45, and even more preferably 30 to 40. The average number of added moles is the manufacturer's standard value. Specific examples of component (B) include, for example, polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate (30 E.O.) and polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate (40 E.O.). Commercially available products such as Rheodol 430V and Rheodol 440V (both manufactured by Kao Corporation) can also be used. Here, polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate is synonymous with polyoxyethylene sorbit tetraoleate.

[0013] In this invention, despite containing components that promote the elution of intercellular lipids in order to maintain cleansing power and foam volume and quality, the elution of intercellular lipids is suppressed. This is presumed to be because component (B) tends to adhere to the skin in relation to components (A) and (C), which promote the elution of intercellular lipids, and forms a protective film on the stratum corneum surface to suppress the skin adsorption and penetration of components (A) and (C). In forming a protective film, the more alkyl chains there are, the more likely it is to adhere to the skin, and it is presumed that it is important for polyoxyethylene sorbitol tetraoleate to have four alkyl chains (oleic acid) in its molecule. As a result, it is presumed that the penetration of components (A) and (C) into the intercellular lipids is suppressed, and the elution of intercellular lipids is suppressed.

[0014] Component (B) can be used alone or in combination of two or more types. Its content is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.3% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.5% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.7% by mass or more, and even more preferably 1% by mass or more, in the total composition, from the viewpoint of achieving both viscosity stability and usability in addition to suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of viscosity stability and usability, it is preferably 10% by mass or less, more preferably 8% by mass or less, even more preferably 6% by mass or less, and even more preferably 4% by mass or less. Furthermore, the content of component (B) is preferably 0.1 to 10% by mass, more preferably 0.3 to 8% by mass, even more preferably 0.5 to 6% by mass, even more preferably 0.7 to 4% by mass, and even more preferably 1 to 4% by mass, in the total composition, from the viewpoint of achieving both viscosity stability and usability in addition to suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids.

[0015] Furthermore, in the present invention, the content ratio (A) / (B) of component (A) to component (B) is preferably 0.1 to 20, more preferably 0.2 to 15, even more preferably 0.5 to 10, even more preferably 1 to 9, and even more preferably 1 to 8, from the viewpoint of suppressing the elution of intercellular lipids as well as achieving both viscosity stability and usability.

[0038] Examples 1-11, Comparative Examples 1-3 (Manufacturing Method) Components (A), (B), (C), (D) and other components were added and stirred, the pH was adjusted to a predetermined level using potassium hydroxide and citric acid, and after stirring until homogeneous, the mixture was cooled to 30°C to obtain each composition. (Evaluation) Detergent compositions with the compositions shown in Table 1 were prepared, and the amount of cholesterol eluted, viscosity, and feel were evaluated using an intercellular lipid model.

[0039] (Measurement of elution amount) 49 mg of ceramide (Takasago International Corporation), 21 mg of palmitic acid (Sigma-Aldrich Corporation), and 32 mg of cholesterol (Sigma-Aldrich Corporation) were weighed out. 4 mL of chloroform / methanol = 2 / 1 (v / v) was added to these, and the resulting solution was stirred at 30°C for 1 hour to dissolve the substances. The solvent was removed under a nitrogen atmosphere, and the resulting powder was dried overnight under reduced pressure to obtain an intercellular lipid model. 10 mg of the obtained intercellular lipid was weighed into a vial, 5 mL of a 10-fold dilution of each composition was added, and the mixture was stirred at 32°C for 1 hour. After the test, the supernatant was collected, and a solution containing the eluates from the intercellular lipid model was obtained as the eluate. 100 μL of the obtained eluate was diluted 10-fold by adding 900 μL of methanol (Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.). 100 μL of a solution diluted 10-fold with methanol was added to 135 μL of methanol (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) and 100 μL of chloroform (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.). Then, 215 μL of ultrapure water (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) and 450 μL of isopropanol (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) were added to obtain a solvent mixture. The cholesterol concentration of this solvent mixture was quantified by the method described below. The cholesterol elution ratio was determined by normalizing the obtained concentration to the concentration of Comparative Example 1. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0040] (Apparatus) G6125B LC / MS (Agilent Technologies) (Chromatography separation conditions) Chromatography separation conditions as described in Example 1 of Japanese Patent Publication No. 2017-67510 (MS analysis conditions) Ionization method: APCI / Positive Dry gas flow rate: 5.0 L / min Nebulizer pressure: 60 psig Dry gas temperature: 350°C Vaporizer temperature: 400°C Capillary voltage: 3000 V Corona current: 4.0 μA Fragmenter voltage: 150 V SIM monitor ion: [M + H - H 2 O] +

[0041] (Viscosity Measurement) Viscosity was measured using a Type B viscometer (manufactured by Toki Sangyo), TV-B type, rotor No. TM3, at 30 rpm and 1 minute. If the viscosity was below 1000 mPa·s, it was measured using rotor No. TM2, at 60 rpm and 1 minute. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0042]

[0043] (Evaluation of Usability) For Example 1, Example 5, and Comparative Example 1, a bundle of human hair (human hair tresses) measuring 25 cm in length, 5.5 cm in width, and weighing 20 g was lightly rinsed with 40°C warm water, excess water was removed (by lightly squeezing by hand), and 2 g of detergent was applied and lathered thoroughly for about 30 seconds. The ease of use at that time (how much it remained on the human hair) was evaluated using the following 5-point scale. The evaluation was performed by three people, and the average value was calculated. The results are shown in Table 2. 5: The detergent solution remains on the human hair bundle, spreads easily, and lathers easily. 4: The detergent solution remains on the human hair bundle, spreads somewhat easily, and can be lathered. 3: The detergent solution spills slightly from the human hair bundle or clumps slightly, but can be lathered. 2: The cleansing solution spills slightly from the hair bundle or is somewhat thick and difficult to spread, making it difficult to lather. 1: The cleansing solution spills slightly from the hair bundle or is thick and does not spread, making it impossible to lather.
