[0027] FIG. 22 is a block diagram of an electronic device in a network environment according to various embodiments.

[0028] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a speaker module.

[0029] Referring to FIG. 1, the speaker module (100) may include a speaker (110) and an enclosure (120). The speaker module (100) may be placed inside an electronic device.

[0030] A speaker (110) may be configured to output acoustic signals. For example, the speaker (110) may include a diaphragm (111), a magnet, and a voice coil. The diaphragm (111) may vibrate to output acoustic signals. Acoustic signals output according to the vibration of the diaphragm (111) may be provided to the outside of an electronic device through an acoustic port (130) of an enclosure (120). The magnet and the voice coil may be configured to cause vibration of the diaphragm (111).

[0031] The enclosure (120) can at least partially enclose the speaker (110). The acoustic port (130) of the enclosure (120) can function as a path for acoustic signals output from the diaphragm (111).

[0032] With respect to the speaker (110), a front chamber (140) and a rear chamber (150) may be defined. The front chamber (140) may be referred to as a space formed on the front of the diaphragm (111) and overlapping with the diaphragm (111). An acoustic signal may be provided to the outside of the enclosure (120) through the front chamber (140) and the acoustic port (130). The rear chamber (150) may be referred to as a space formed on the rear side of the speaker (110). The rear chamber (150) may be referred to as a back chamber. As a non-limiting example, the rear chamber (150) may be referred to as a back volume. As a non-limiting example, the rear chamber (150) may be referred to as a resonance space of the speaker (110).

[0033] The quality of the acoustic signals may be based on the volume of the rear chamber (150) of the speaker module (100). For example, the volume of the rear chamber (150) may be related to acoustic compliance. Acoustic compliance is the ratio of the amount of deformation of the system's volume to the stress applied to the system (e.g., rear chamber (150)), and high compliance indicates that the system's volume deforms easily in response to stress. Acoustic compliance is the reciprocal of the acoustic stiffness of the system (e.g., rear chamber (150)). The acoustic compliance can be defined as shown in the following mathematical formula.

[0034]

[0035] In mathematical formula 1, C (compliance) is the acoustic compliance of the rear chamber (150). V (volume) is the volume of the rear chamber (150). is the density of air in the rear chamber (150). c (speed of sound) is the speed of sound. Referring to Equation 1, acoustic compliance is proportional to the volume of the rear chamber (150).

[0036] The quality of acoustic signals having low frequencies can be improved as the volume of the rear chamber (150) increases. Referring to the above mathematical formula, since the acoustic compliance of the rear chamber (150) is proportional to the volume of the rear chamber (150), the larger the volume of the rear chamber (150), the lower the acoustic stiffness of the rear chamber (150). As the acoustic stiffness decreases, the resonance frequency of the speaker module (100) can be lowered. As the resonance frequency decreases, the quality of the acoustic signals can be improved because acoustic signals having low frequencies can resonate at the resonance frequency.

[0037] Meanwhile, for the portability of the electronic device, a slimmer electronic device may be required. The slimmer the electronic device, the more difficult it may be to secure the volume of the rear chamber (150) of the speaker module (100). The smaller the volume of the rear chamber (150), the higher the probability that the quality of the acoustic signals output by the speaker module (100) will deteriorate. For example, if the volume of the rear chamber (150) of the speaker module (100) is small, the quality of low-frequency acoustic signals may deteriorate. Since the deterioration of the quality of the acoustic signals output by the speaker module (100) can reduce the usability of the electronic device, the electronic device may include a structure to increase the volume of the rear chamber (150).

[0038] The electronic device described below (e.g., the electronic device (200) of FIG. 5) may include a structure to expand the resonance space for a speaker (e.g., the speaker (431) of FIG. 4). Hereinafter, with reference to the drawings, a structure for expanding the volume of the rear chamber is described.

[0039] FIG. 2 is a block diagram of an electronic device according to various embodiments.

[0040] Referring to FIG. 2, the electronic device (200) may include at least one processor (210), memory (220), display (230), and speaker module (240).

[0041] At least one processor (210) may be configured to control a display (230) and a speaker module (240). For example, at least one processor (210) may be configured to acquire or generate an image to be displayed through the display (230). For example, at least one processor (210) may be configured to adjust the frequency of acoustic signals to be output through the speaker module (240) or to control the pitch of the sound. When the electronic device (200) corresponds to the electronic device (2201) of FIG. 22, at least one processor (210) may include at least a part of the processor (2220) of FIG. 22 or correspond to at least a part of the processor (2220) of FIG. 22.

[0042] Memory (220) may include one or more storage media. Memory (220) may be used to store data, information, and / or instructions. Memory (220) may store one or more programs configured to be executed individually or collectively by at least one processor (210). The one or more programs may include instructions that cause the electronic device (200) (or at least one processor (210)) to perform the operations described in this document. When the electronic device (200) corresponds to the electronic device (2201) of FIG. 22, memory (220) may include at least a portion of the memory (2230) of FIG. 22 or correspond to at least a portion of the memory (2230) of FIG. 22.

[0043] The display (230) can provide information visually. The display (230) may include a touch-sensitive display. When the electronic device (200) corresponds to the electronic device (2201) of FIG. 22, the display (230) may include at least a part of the display module (2220) of FIG. 22 or correspond to at least a part of the display module (2220) of FIG. 22.

[0044] The speaker module (240) can output an acoustic signal. The speaker module (240) may include, for example, a speaker (e.g., the speaker (441) of FIG. 4) and / or a receiver. The speaker (441) may be used for multimedia playback or recording playback. The receiver may be used to output a voice signal obtained through an incoming call. When the electronic device (200) corresponds to the electronic device (2201) of FIG. 22, the display (230) may include at least a part of the acoustic output module (2220) of FIG. 22 or correspond to at least a part of the acoustic output module (2220) of FIG. 22.

[0045] FIG. 3 is a plan view of an electronic device including a display.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 3, the electronic device (200) may include a housing (300). The housing (300) may include a first surface (or front) (310), a second surface (or rear) (320), and a third surface (or side) (330) that surrounds the space between the first surface (310) and the second surface (320). The housing (300) may cover or enclose electronic components placed inside the electronic device (200).

[0047] The first surface (310) of the housing (300) may define at least a portion of the front of the electronic device (200). For example, the display (230) may be visible through at least a portion of the first surface (310). The front side (231) of the display (230) may be referred to as the surface of the display (230) facing the +z direction of FIG. 3. Visual information displayed through the pixels of the display (230) may be provided through the front side (231). The rear side (232) of the display (230) may be opposite to the front side (231). For example, the rear side (232) of the display (230) may be referred to as the surface of the display (230) facing the -z direction of FIG. 3.

[0048] The second surface (320) of the housing (300) may define at least a portion of the rear surface of the electronic device (200). For example, the electronic device (200) may include a rear plate (or back glass). The rear plate may define at least a portion of the second surface (320). As an example without limitation, the rear plate may be substantially opaque.

[0049] According to one embodiment, the top side (341) of the electronic device (200) may be referenced as a part located in the +y direction relative to the center of the electronic device (200). The bottom side (342) of the electronic device (200) may be referenced as a part located in the -y direction relative to the center of the electronic device (200).

[0050] A third side (330) of the housing (300) may define at least a portion of the side of the electronic device (200). The third side (330) may include a first side (331) of the electronic device that defines the top side (341) of the electronic device (200), and a second side (332) of the electronic device (200) that defines the bottom side (342) of the electronic device (200). The first side (331) of the electronic device (200) may be referenced as the side of the electronic device (200) corresponding to the +y direction. The second side (332) of the electronic device (200) may be referenced as the side of the electronic device (200) corresponding to the -y direction.

[0051] FIG. 4 is a plan view of an electronic device. FIG. 5 is an example of a cross-sectional view along A-A' of FIG. 4.

[0052] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the electronic device (200) may include a bracket (410), a sealing member (420), a speaker module (430), an adhesive member (440), and / or a waterproof tape (480).

[0053] A waterproof tape (480) can define a waterproof portion within an electronic device (200). For example, the waterproof tape (480) can be placed between the rear side (e.g., rear side (232) of FIG. 3) of a display (e.g., display (230) of FIG. 3) and a plate (510). The waterproof tape (480) can define a waterproof portion (or waterproof area) that encloses electronic components placed on the bracket (410). For example, the waterproof portion can be referred to as an area surrounded by the waterproof tape (480) placed on the bracket (410). The waterproof portion can be formed between the display (230) and the bracket (410).

[0054] The bracket (410) may include a plate (e.g., the plate (510) of FIG. 5). The plate (510) may include a first surface (511) and a second surface (512) opposite to the first surface (511). The first surface (511) of the plate (510) may be described as the surface of the plate (510) facing the rear side (232) of the display (230). The first surface (511) of the plate (510) may be described as the surface of the plate (510) facing the front side of the electronic device (200). The first surface (511) of the plate (510) may be described as the surface of the plate (510) facing the +z direction. The second surface (512) of the plate (510) may be described as the surface of the plate (510) facing the -z direction.

[0055] The bracket (410) may support or accommodate other components included in the electronic device (200). For example, a display (230) may be placed above or on a first surface (511) of the bracket (410) facing the +z direction. At least a portion of the display (230) may be supported by the bracket (410).

[0056] The plate (510) may be spaced apart from the rear side (232) of the display (230). For example, a gap may be defined between the first surface (511) of the plate (510) and the rear side (232) of the display (230). The sealing member (420) may be positioned between the rear side (232) of the display (230) and the first part (513) of the plate (510) to define a first internal volume (450) that provides a part of the resonance space (or rear volume) by acoustically coupling with the second internal volume (460) of the enclosure (433) as described below. According to one embodiment, the first internal volume (450) may be referred to as the space enclosed by the rear side (232) of the display (230), the first part (513) of the plate (510), and the sealing member (420).

[0057] According to one embodiment, a sealing member (420) may be positioned to seal a display (230), a first portion (513) of a plate (510) spaced apart from the display (230), and a first internal volume (450) defined by the sealing member (420). For example, the sealing member (420) may be positioned between the display (230) and the first portion (513) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410) for sealing. For example, a sealing area (421) surrounded by the sealing member (420) may be defined. FIG. 4 illustrates a sealing member (420) defining a sealing area (421) in a circular shape, but various embodiments are not limited thereto. For example, the sealing member (420) may define a sealing area (421) having a triangular shape (or a rounded triangular shape). For example, the sealing member (420) may include a bond, resin, or tape. However, various embodiments are not limited thereto. For example, the sealing member (420) may include a sponge.

[0058] According to one embodiment, the speaker module (430) may include a speaker (431) and an enclosure (433). The speaker (431) may be configured to output acoustic signals. A diaphragm (432) may vibrate to output acoustic signals. Acoustic signals output according to the vibration of the diaphragm (432) may be provided to the outside of the electronic device (200) through an acoustic port (434). The enclosure (433) may enclose the speaker (431).

[0059] According to one embodiment, the enclosure (433) may define a second internal volume (460). For example, the enclosure (433) may define the second internal volume (460) as a rear volume (or resonance space) of the speaker (431).

[0060] The second internal volume (460) can function as a rear chamber (or resonance space) of the speaker module (430). For example, the rear chamber may be referred to as a space defined on the rear side of the speaker (431). The rear chamber may be referred to as a back chamber. As an example without limitation, the rear chamber may be referred to as a back volume.

[0061] If the thickness of the electronic device (200) is reduced, the size of the enclosure (433) may be reduced. As the size of the enclosure (433) is reduced, the second internal volume (460) of the enclosure (433) may also be reduced. A reduction in the second internal volume (460) may degrade the quality of acoustic signals. For example, if the volume of the resonance space of the speaker module (430) is small, the quality of low-frequency acoustic signals may be degraded. Since the degradation of the quality of acoustic signals output by the speaker module (430) may reduce the usability of the electronic device (200), the electronic device (200) may have a structure to increase the space of the rear chamber (150).

[0062] According to one embodiment, the speaker module (430) may be placed below the plate (510) of the bracket (410) (e.g., in the -z direction). For example, the speaker module (430) may be placed on the second surface (512) of the plate (510), which is opposite to the first surface (511) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410) facing the display (230).

[0063] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may include an opening (412). For example, the opening (412) may be defined by a plate (510) and / or an enclosure (433). As illustrated in FIG. 5, the plate (510) may define the opening (412). As illustrated in FIG. 9 described below, the plate (510) and the enclosure (433) may define the opening (412). The opening (412) may be referred to as an acoustically transparent portion having acoustic transparency.

[0064] The opening portion (412) can acoustically combine the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460) with each other. For example, since the first internal volume (450) is acoustically combined with the second internal volume (460) through the opening portion (412), it can function as an extended rear chamber of the speaker module (430) (e.g., the rear chamber (150) of FIG. 1).

[0065] For example, the electronic device (200) may have a first internal volume (450) acoustically coupled with the second internal volume (460), defined by the display (230), the first part (513) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410), and the sealing member (420), as well as a second internal volume (460) defined by the enclosure (433) of the speaker module (430) as a resonance space for the speaker module (430). Since the electronic device (200) has the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460) as a resonance space for the speaker module (430), a large resonance space for acoustic signals may be provided. Due to the large resonance space, the quality of the acoustic signal output from the speaker module (430) may be relatively high. For example, since the acoustic compliance of the resonance space is proportional to the volume of the resonance space, the larger the volume of the resonance space, the lower the acoustic stiffness of the resonance space may be. The lower the acoustic stiffness, the lower the resonance frequency of the speaker module (430) may be. As the resonance frequency decreases, the quality of the acoustic signals may be improved because acoustic signals having low frequencies can resonate at the resonance frequency. Since the speaker module (430) has a resonance space provided through the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460), the output quality of acoustic signals with relatively long wavelengths can be enhanced.

[0066] The first internal volume (450) can function as a resonance space of the speaker module (430) together with the second internal volume (460). For example, the first internal volume (450) can function as an extended rear chamber (or rear space) of the speaker module (430). Because the first internal volume (450) functions as an extended rear chamber, the display (230) can receive vibrations generated by the diaphragm (432). For example, the display (230) can vibrate due to said vibrations. Vibrations of the display (230) can degrade the quality of visual information displayed through the display (230). Alternatively, the usability of the electronic device (200) may be reduced by the vibrations being transmitted to the user.

[0067] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (440) may be positioned to reduce vibrations applied to a display (230) as an acoustic signal is output using a speaker module (430). The adhesive member (440) may reduce said vibrations. For example, the adhesive member (440) may be positioned at a location corresponding to the frequency mode of the acoustic signals to reduce said vibrations. For example, the adhesive member (440) may be positioned substantially aligned with the center of a sealing area (421) where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest when the frequency of the acoustic signals is in a primary mode (e.g., a fundamental resonance form occurring at the lowest frequency among the resonance modes). Since the adhesive member (440) is positioned at the part where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest, the amplitude may be reduced. Since the amplitude of the acoustic signals is reduced, said vibrations may be reduced.

[0068] According to one embodiment, the adhesive member (440) may be positioned between the display (230) and the bracket (410). For example, the adhesive member (440) may attach the rear side (232) of the display (230) and the second part (514) of the plate (510) spaced apart from the display (230). For example, the adhesive member (440) may be positioned within the first internal volume (450). For example, the adhesive member (440) may be positioned within a sealing area (421) surrounded by a sealing member (420). For example, the adhesive member (440) may be attached to the rear side (232) of the display (230) and the second part (514) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410), respectively, to reduce vibration of the display (230) caused by outputting an acoustic signal through the speaker module (430). For example, the plate (510) of the bracket (410) may be rigid compared to the display (230). The adhesive member (440) can more firmly secure the display (230) by being attached to the second part (514) of the plate (510). Since the adhesive member (440) can more firmly secure the display (230), the vibration applied to the display (230) can be reduced.

[0069] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (440) for reducing vibration of a display (230) may be used for grounding the display (230). For example, the adhesive member (440) may include an electrically conductive material. For example, the adhesive member (440) may include copper, but is not limited thereto. For example, the adhesive member (440) may include silver. For example, the adhesive member (440) may include aluminum. For example, the display (230) may be electrically connected to a plate (510) of a bracket (410) that can function as a ground for an electronic device (200) through an adhesive member (440) that includes a conductive material.

[0070] The opening portion (412) may have an area (e.g., the area (413) of FIG. 5) for acoustically coupling the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460). Acoustic signals passing through the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460) may lose energy due to the viscosity of the air around the opening portion (412) or heat, etc. As the area (413) of the opening portion (412) becomes smaller, the energy loss ratio of the acoustic signals may increase. To reduce the energy loss of the acoustic signals, the opening portion (412) may require a certain area (413). For example, the area (413) of the opening portion (412) may be wider than the area corresponding to the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (431) of the speaker module (430). For example, the width (413) of the opening portion (412) can be determined by the human audible frequency. For example, the human audible frequency may be about 20 Hz. The width (413) of the opening portion (412) may be wider than about 1 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (431) is about 20 Hz. The width (413) of the opening portion (412) may be wider than about 0.16 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (431) is about 100 Hz.

[0071] Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view of B-B' in Figure 5.

[0072] Referring to FIG. 6, the adhesive member (440) may include a first part (610), a second part (620), and a third part (630).

[0073] The first part (610) can be in contact with the rear side (e.g., rear side (232) of FIG. 5) of the display (e.g., display (230) of FIG. 3).

[0074] The second part (620) can be in contact with the first surface (e.g., the first surface (511) of FIG. 5) of the plate (e.g., the plate (510) of FIG. 5) of the bracket (e.g., the bracket (410) of FIG. 4).

[0075] A third part (630) may be positioned between the first part (610) and the second part (620). For example, the third part (630) may have higher acoustic permeability than the first part (610) and the second part (620). For example, the third part (630) may be formed of a material different from that of the first part (610) and the second part (620). For example, the third part (630) may include a porous material. For example, the third part (630) may include a sponge. For example, the third part (630) may include a mesh-structured plastic, but is not limited thereto. For example, the third part (630) may include a mesh-structured metal.

[0076] According to one embodiment, since the acoustic transmittance of the third part (630) is higher than that of the first part (610) and the second part (620), acoustic signals output from the speaker module (e.g., the speaker module (430) of FIG. 4) can pass through the third part (630). If the adhesive member (440) has low acoustic transmittance, the first internal volume (e.g., the first internal volume (450) of FIG. 5) may be reduced by the volume occupied by the adhesive member (440). Since the third part (630) has high acoustic transmittance, at least a portion of the volume occupied by the adhesive member (440) can also be used as the first internal volume (450). Acoustic signals can utilize the third part (630), as well as the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460), as a resonance space. The speaker module (430) can have high sound quality because it can utilize the third part (630) as an additional resonance space.

[0077] Figure 7 is a chart showing the sound pressure level of an electronic device without an extended rear chamber and the sound pressure level of an electronic device with an extended rear chamber.

[0078] Referring to FIG. 7, the horizontal axis of the chart (700) represents frequency (unit: Hz (hertz)), and the vertical axis of the chart (700) represents sound pressure level (SPL (sound pressure level)) (unit: dB).

[0079] Line (701) in the chart (700) represents the frequency-dependent sound pressure level of an electronic device according to a comparative example that does not have an extended rear chamber. For example, the electronic device according to the comparative example may not include openings. Since the electronic device according to the comparative example does not include openings, the volume of the rear chamber of the speaker module may correspond to the second internal volume of the enclosure. Line (702) in the chart (700) represents the frequency-dependent sound pressure level of an electronic device having an extended rear chamber (e.g., the electronic device (200) of FIG. 5).

[0080] As indicated by the comparison between line (701) and line (702), within the frequency range (710), the sound pressure level of an electronic device without an extended rear chamber may be lower than the sound pressure level of an electronic device (200) with an extended rear chamber. Since the sound pressure level of an electronic device without an extended rear chamber is lower than the sound pressure level of an electronic device (200) with an extended rear chamber within the frequency range (710), the quality of the acoustic signal at the frequency output through the electronic device without an extended rear chamber may be lower than the quality of the acoustic signal at the frequency output through the electronic device (200) with an extended rear chamber. For example, within the frequency range (710), the frequency of the acoustic signals may be relatively low. An electronic device without an extended rear chamber may have a small resonance space. If the volume of the resonance space of the speaker module is small, the quality of low-frequency acoustic signals may be degraded. An electronic device that does not have an expanded rear chamber may have a smaller resonance space compared to an electronic device that has an expanded rear chamber (e.g., the electronic device (200) of FIG. 4). Since an electronic device that does not have an expanded rear chamber has a relatively smaller resonance space compared to an electronic device (200) that has an expanded rear chamber, the probability of resonance occurring when outputting acoustic signals within a frequency range (710) through an electronic device that does not have an expanded rear chamber may be lower than the probability of resonance occurring when outputting acoustic signals within a frequency range (710) through an electronic device (200) that has an expanded rear chamber. For example, the probability of deterioration in the quality of acoustic signals occurring when outputting acoustic signals within a frequency range (710) through an electronic device that does not have an expanded rear chamber may be higher than the probability of deterioration in the quality of acoustic signals occurring when outputting acoustic signals within a frequency range (710) through an electronic device (200) that has an expanded rear chamber.

[0081] Figure 8 is a chart showing the average acceleration value of a display of an electronic device without an adhesive member and the average acceleration value of a display of an electronic device with an adhesive member.

[0082] Referring to FIG. 8, the horizontal axis of the chart (800) represents frequency (unit: Hz (hertz)), and the vertical axis of the chart (800) represents the average acceleration value of the display (unit: m / s²).

[0083] Line (801) in the chart (800) represents the average acceleration value of a display of an electronic device that does not have an adhesive member according to frequency. Line (802) in the chart (800) represents the average acceleration value of a display (e.g., display (230) of FIG. 3) of an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (200) of FIG. 4) that has an adhesive member (e.g., adhesive member (440) of FIG. 4) according to frequency. For example, the acceleration can be measured when the display (230) vibrates due to vibration in a first internal volume (e.g., first internal volume (450) of FIG. 5).

[0084] As indicated by the comparison between line (801) and line (802), within the frequency range (810), the average acceleration value of the display of the electronic device without an adhesive member may be relatively higher than the average acceleration value of the display (230) of the electronic device (200) having an adhesive member (440). Since the average acceleration value of the display of the electronic device without an adhesive member is higher than the average acceleration value of the display (230) of the electronic device (200) having an adhesive member (440) within the frequency range (810), the vibration transmitted to the display may be relatively high. For example, the electronic device without an adhesive member may define an opening in the plate so that the space between the display and the plate functions as an extended rear chamber. Since the electronic device without an adhesive member utilizes the extended rear chamber as a resonance space, vibration may occur in the display due to acoustic signals output by the diaphragm of the speaker. The electronic device without an adhesive member may vibrate due to the vibration applied to the display.

[0085] As indicated by the comparison between line (801) and line (802), within the frequency range (810), the average acceleration value of the display (230) of the electronic device (200) having the adhesive member (440) may be relatively lower than the average acceleration value of the display of the electronic device without the adhesive member. Since the average acceleration value of the display (230) of the electronic device (200) having the adhesive member (440) is lower than the average acceleration value of the display of the electronic device without the adhesive member within the frequency range (810), the vibration transmitted to the display may be relatively low. For example, the electronic device (200) having the adhesive member (440) may define an opening (412) in the plate (510) and the enclosure (433) so that the first internal volume (450) functions as an extended rear chamber. Since the electronic device (200) having an adhesive member (440) utilizes the first internal volume (450) as a resonance space, vibration can occur in the display (230) by acoustic signals output by the diaphragm (e.g., diaphragm (432) of FIG. 4) of a speaker (e.g., speaker (431) of FIG. 4). When the adhesive member (440) is placed, the electronic device (200) having an adhesive member (440) can offset the mode frequency of the electronic device (200) to a higher frequency. When the mode frequency of the electronic device (200) is shifted to a higher frequency, the resonance frequency of the electronic device (200) can be shifted to a higher frequency. When the mode frequency of the electronic device (200) is shifted to a higher frequency, the amplitude of the frequency of the acoustic signals can be reduced. Because the amplitude of the frequency of the acoustic signals is reduced, the average acceleration value of the display (230) can be reduced. Since the average acceleration value of the display (230) is reduced, the vibration of the display (230) can be reduced. Due to the reduction in vibration of the display (230), vibration in the electronic device (200) can be reduced. The usability of the electronic device (200) can be improved by reducing the vibration of the electronic device (200).

[0086] FIG. 9 is an example of a cross-sectional view of an electronic device including a first opening and a second opening, cut along the line A-A' of FIG. 4.

[0087] Referring to FIG. 9, the electronic device (200) may include an opening portion (412). For example, the opening portion (412) may include a first opening portion (910) and a second opening portion (920).

[0088] The first opening portion (910) may be defined on a portion of the enclosure (433) that contacts the second surface (512) of the plate (510). The second opening portion (920) may be defined on the plate (510) and aligned with at least a portion of the first opening portion (910). The first opening portion (910) and the second opening portion (920) may acoustically combine the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460). For example, the first opening portion (910) and the second opening portion (920) may connect the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460). For example, the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460) may form a resonance space (or rear volume) of the speaker module (430). For example, the speaker module (430) may have a second internal volume (460) as a rear chamber (or rear volume) and a rear chamber extended to the first internal volume (450). The extended rear chamber may provide a resonance space for vibrations caused by the diaphragm (432). Because the speaker module (430) has a large resonance space, the quality of the acoustic signal provided by the speaker module (430) may be improved. For example, because the speaker module (430) has a large resonance space, the quality of long-wavelength acoustic signals may be improved.

[0089] FIG. 9 illustrates that the first opening portion (910) and the second opening portion (920) are defined through the opening, but this is merely illustrative. Each of the first opening portion (910) and the second opening portion (920) may include a sheet having relatively high acoustic permeability.

[0090] FIG. 10 is a plan view of an electronic device having a structure in which the center of the adhesive member is aligned with the geometric center portion of the first internal volume.

[0091] Referring to FIG. 10, the adhesive member (440) may be disposed within the first internal volume (450). For example, the adhesive member (440) may be disposed in the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). For example, the center of the adhesive member (440) may be substantially aligned with the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). The center of the adhesive member (440) aligned with the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) may be described as the center of the adhesive member (440) that substantially overlaps with the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). The center of the adhesive member (440) aligned with the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) can be described as the center of the adhesive member (440) that partially overlaps with the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). For example, the adhesive member (440) may be placed within an area containing the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450).

[0092] According to one embodiment, when the adhesive member (440) is placed at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450), the vibration applied to the display (e.g., the display (230) of FIG. 3) can be relatively reduced. For example, the vibration generated by the diaphragm (432) of the speaker module (430) may be greatest at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). For example, the amplitude of the vibration generated by the diaphragm (432) of the speaker module (430) may be greatest at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). For example, if the mode of the acoustic signals output by the diaphragm (432) of the speaker (431) is a primary mode, the anti-node of that mode may be located at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). Since the amplitude of the vibration generated by the diaphragm (432) of the speaker module (430) is greatest at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450), if the adhesive member (440) is placed at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450), the vibration applied to the display (230) can be reduced.

[0093] FIG. 11 is a plan view of an electronic device having a structure in which the center of the adhesive member is offset from the geometric center portion of the first internal volume.

[0094] Referring to FIG. 11, the adhesive member (440) may be placed in the first internal volume (450). For example, the adhesive member (440) may be placed within an area (1110) defined within the distance between the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) and the center of the opening portion (412). For example, the center of the adhesive member (440) may be offset from the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) and placed within the area (1110). When the adhesive member (440) is placed within the area (1110), it may reduce vibrations applied to the display (230). For example, acoustic signals output by the speaker module (430) may have a maximum amplitude at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450). Meanwhile, acoustic signals output by the speaker module (430) may have a significantly lower amplitude compared to the amplitude occurring at the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) outside the area (1110). Since the adhesive member (440) cannot effectively reduce vibrations applied to the display (230) when placed in the portion having a low amplitude, it may be placed within the area (1110).

[0095] FIG. 12 is a plan view of an electronic device including a plurality of adhesive members.

[0096] Referring to FIG. 12, the electronic device (200) may include a plurality of adhesive members. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may include an adhesive member (440) and another adhesive member (1210) disposed in a first internal volume (450).

[0097] According to one embodiment, another adhesive member (1210) may be disposed in the first internal volume (450). For example, the other adhesive member (1210) may be attached to the rear side (e.g., rear side (232) of FIG. 3) of a display (e.g., display (230) of FIG. 3) and the plate of the bracket (410) (e.g., plate (510) of FIG. 5), disposed within the first internal volume (450), and spaced apart from the adhesive member (440). For example, the other adhesive member (1210) may be disposed asymmetrically with respect to the adhesive member (440) with respect to the geometric center portion (1010). As an example without limitation, the other adhesive member (1210) may be disposed symmetrically with respect to the adhesive member (440) with respect to the geometric center portion (1010).

[0098] Another adhesive member (1210) can reduce vibrations applied to the display (230) due to the expansion of the resonance space (or rear volume). For example, the other adhesive member (1210) can be positioned to correspond to a vibration mode generated by the diaphragm (432) of the speaker (431). For example, if the vibration mode of the acoustic output signals is a second mode (e.g., a fundamental resonance form occurring at the second lowest frequency among the resonance modes), the other adhesive member (1210) can be positioned at the location of the second anti-node. For example, the other adhesive member (1210) can be positioned at the location where the amplitude is second largest according to the second mode. For example, the other adhesive member (1210) can be positioned at the location where a second resonance occurs according to the second mode. Because the other adhesive member (1210) is positioned to correspond to the vibration mode, it can reduce vibrations applied to the display (230).

[0099] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may include at least one additional adhesive member in addition to the adhesive member (440) and the other adhesive member (1210) within the first internal volume (450). For example, the at least one adhesive member may be disposed within an area (1110) defined within the distance between the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) and the center of the opening portion (412). For example, the adhesive members may be connected to each other. For example, the adhesive member (440), the other adhesive member (1210), and a plurality of adhesive members may be connected to each other. The interconnected adhesive members can effectively reduce vibrations applied to the display (230).

[0100] FIG. 13 is a plan view of an electronic device including one or more acoustically transparent parts.

[0101] Referring to FIG. 13, in one embodiment, the electronic device (200) may include a plurality of opening portions. For example, the electronic device (200) may include an opening portion (412) and another opening portion (1310). For example, the other opening portion (1310) may be defined by the plate (510) of the bracket (410) and the enclosure (433) and may be spaced apart from the opening portion (412).

[0102] The other opening (1310) and the other opening (412) can acoustically combine the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460). For example, the speaker module (430) can form a resonance space (or rear volume) of the speaker module (430) through the opening (412) and the other opening (1310), including the first internal volume (450) as well as the second internal volume (460). For example, the speaker module (430) can have the first internal volume (450) as an extended rear chamber. The extended rear chamber can provide a resonance space for vibrations caused by the diaphragm (432).

[0103] The other opening (1310) can further disperse the vibration occurring in the second internal volume (460) of the speaker module (430) compared to when only the opening (412) is included. Since the other opening (1310) can further disperse the vibration, the other opening (1310) can reduce the vibration applied to the display (230).

[0104] FIG. 14 is a plan view of an electronic device including a speaker module and another speaker module. FIG. 15 is a cross-sectional view of C-C' of FIG. 14.

[0105] Referring to FIGS. 14 and 15, the electronic device (200) may include a display (e.g., the display (230) of FIG. 3), a bracket (410), another sealing member (1420), another speaker module (1430), another adhesive member (1440), and / or a waterproof tape (480).

[0106] According to one embodiment, another sealing member (1420) may be positioned to seal a third portion (515) of the plate (510) of the display (230) and the third internal volume (1450) defined by the other sealing member (1420). For example, the other sealing member (1420) may be positioned between the display (230) and the third portion (515) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410) for sealing. For example, another sealing area (1421) surrounded by the other sealing member (1420) may be defined. The other sealing member (1420) may form the other sealing area (1421) in a circular shape, but is not limited thereto. For example, the other sealing area (1421) may form the other sealing area (1421) in a triangular shape. For example, other sealing members (1420) may include bond, resin, or tape. However, various embodiments are not limited thereto. For example, the sealing member (1420) may include a sponge.

[0107] The third internal volume (1450) can be acoustically isolated from the first internal volume (450) and the second internal volume (460).

[0108] According to one embodiment, another speaker module (1430) may include another speaker (1431) and another enclosure (1433). The other speaker (1431) may be configured to output acoustic signals. For example, the other speaker (1431) may include another diaphragm (1432), a magnet, and a voice coil. The other diaphragm (1432) may vibrate to output acoustic signals. Acoustic signals output from the other diaphragm (1432) may be provided outside the electronic device (200) through an acoustic port (1434). The magnet and the voice coil may be configured to cause vibration of the other diaphragm (1432). The other enclosure (1433) may enclose the other speaker (1431). For example, the other enclosure (1433) may enclose at least a portion of the other speaker (1431). Another enclosure (1433) can form an acoustic port (1434) in the path of acoustic signals output from another speaker (1431).

[0109] The other enclosure (1433) may define a fourth internal volume (1460) as the rear volume (or resonance space) of the other speaker (1431). The fourth internal volume (1460) may function as the rear chamber (or rear volume) of the other speaker module (1430). For example, the rear chamber may be referred to as a space formed on the rear side of the other speaker (1431). The rear chamber may be referred to as a back chamber.

[0110] If the thickness of the electronic device (200) is reduced, the size of the other enclosure (1433) may be reduced. As the size of the other enclosure (1433) is reduced, the fourth internal volume (1460) of the other enclosure (1433) may also be reduced. A reduction in the fourth internal volume (1460) may degrade the quality of acoustic signals. For example, if the volume of the resonance space of the other speaker module (1430) is small, the quality of low-frequency acoustic signals may be degraded.

[0111] According to one embodiment, another speaker module (1430) may be placed below the plate (510) of the bracket (410). For example, the other speaker module (1430) may be placed on a second surface (512) opposite to the first surface (511) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410) facing the display (230).

[0112] Another speaker module (1430) may be spaced apart from the speaker module (430) within the electronic device (200). For example, the other speaker module (1430) may be placed on the top side (341) of the electronic device (200). For example, the other speaker module (1430) may be placed in the direction of the first side (331) of the electronic device (200) defining the top side (341) of the electronic device (200). The speaker module (430) may be placed on the bottom side (342) of the electronic device (200). For example, the speaker module (430) may be placed in the direction of the second side (332) of the electronic device (200) defining the bottom side (342) of the electronic device (200).

[0113] The plate (510) of the bracket (410) and the other enclosure (1433) may include another opening (1412). The other opening (1412) may acoustically combine the third internal volume (1450) and the fourth internal volume (1460) with each other. For example, the third internal volume (1450) may function as an extended rear chamber (or rear volume) of the other speaker module (1430) because it is acoustically combined with the fourth internal volume (1460) through the other opening (1412). For example, the electronic device (200) may have a third internal volume (1450) acoustically coupled with the fourth internal volume (1460), defined by the display (230), the plate (510) of the bracket (410), and the sealing member (420), as well as a fourth internal volume (1460) defined by the other enclosure (1433) of the other speaker module (1430) as a resonance space for the other speaker module (1430). Since the electronic device (200) has the third internal volume (1450) and the fourth internal volume (1460) as resonance spaces for the other speaker module (1430), a large resonance space for acoustic signals may be provided. Due to the large resonance space, the quality of the acoustic signal output from the other speaker module (1430) may be relatively high. For example, since the acoustic compliance of the resonance space is proportional to the volume of the resonance space, the larger the volume of the resonance space, the lower the acoustic stiffness of the resonance space may be. As the acoustic stiffness is lower, the resonance frequency of the other speaker module (1430) may be lowered. As the resonance frequency is reduced, the quality of the acoustic signals may be improved because acoustic signals having low frequencies can resonate at the resonance frequency. Since the other speaker module (1430) has a resonance space provided through the third internal volume (1450) and the fourth internal volume (1460), the output quality of acoustic signals with relatively long wavelengths can be enhanced.

[0114] The third internal volume (1450) can function as a resonance space for another speaker module (1430) together with the fourth internal volume (1460). For example, the third internal volume (1450) can function as an extended rear chamber for another speaker module (1430). Because the fourth internal volume (1460) functions as an extended rear chamber, the display (230) can receive vibrations generated by another diaphragm (1432). For example, the display (230) can vibrate due to said vibrations. Vibration of the display (230) can degrade the quality of visual information displayed through the display (230). Alternatively, the usability of the electronic device (200) may be reduced by the vibrations being transmitted to the user.

[0115] According to one embodiment, another adhesive member (1440) may be positioned to reduce vibrations applied to the display (230) as an acoustic signal is output using another speaker module (1430). For example, the third internal volume (1450) may function as a resonance space of the other speaker module (1430) together with the fourth internal volume (1460). For example, the third internal volume (1450) may function as an extended rear chamber of the other speaker module (1430). Since the third internal volume (1450) functions as an extended rear chamber, the display (230) may receive vibrations generated by the other diaphragm (1432). For example, the display (230) may vibrate due to said vibrations. The other adhesive member (1440) may reduce said vibrations. For example, another adhesive member (1440) can be placed at a position corresponding to the frequency mode of the acoustic signals to reduce the vibration. For example, when the frequency of the acoustic signals is in the first mode, it can be placed aligned with the center of another sealing area (1421) where the amplitude of the frequency is the largest. Since the other adhesive member (1440) is placed in the part where the amplitude of the frequency is the largest, the amplitude can be reduced. Since the amplitude of the acoustic signals is reduced, the vibration can be reduced.

[0116] For example, another adhesive member (1440) may be placed between the display (230) and the bracket (410). For example, the other adhesive member (1440) may attach the rear side (232) of the display (230) and the fourth part (516) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410). For example, the other adhesive member (1440) may be placed within the third internal volume (1450). For example, the other adhesive member (1440) may be placed within the display (230), the fourth part (516) of the plate (510), and the other sealing area (1421) formed by the other sealing member (1420). For example, other adhesive members (1440) may be attached to the rear side (232) of the display (230) and the fourth part (516) of the plate (510) of the bracket (410), respectively, to reduce vibration of the display (230) caused by vibration transmitted from the other diaphragm (1432) to the third internal volume (1450).

[0117] According to one embodiment, another adhesive member (1440) may include an electrically conductive material. For example, the other adhesive member (1440) may include copper, but is not limited thereto. For example, the other adhesive member (1440) may include silver. For example, the other adhesive member (1440) may include aluminum. For example, the display (230) may be electrically connected to the plate (510) of the bracket (410), which can function as the ground of the electronic device (200), through the other adhesive member (1440) which includes a conductive material.

[0118] According to one embodiment, the width (1413) of the other opening portion (1412) may be wider than the width corresponding to the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the other speaker (1431) of the other speaker module (1430). For example, the width (1413) of the other opening portion (1412) may be determined by the human audible frequency. For example, the human audible frequency may be about 20 Hz. The width (1413) of the other opening portion (1412) may be wider than about 1 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the other speaker (1431) is about 20 Hz. The width (1413) of the other opening portion (1412) may be wider than about 0.16 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the other speaker (1431) is about 100 Hz. The other opening (1412) may alternatively be referred to as the other acoustic transmission part.

[0119] The description of FIGS. 3 through 15 may be applied to various form factors. For example, the description of FIGS. 3 through 15 may be applied to a foldable electronic device (e.g., the foldable electronic device (1600) of FIG. 16). For example, the description of FIGS. 3 through 15 may be applied to a multi-foldable electronic device (e.g., the multi-foldable electronic device (1900) of FIG. 19).

[0120] Fig. 16 illustrates a foldable electronic device.

[0121] Referring to FIG. 16, the aforementioned electronic device (e.g., the electronic device (200) of FIG. 5) can be implemented in various form factors.

[0122] An electronic device (200) according to various embodiments may include a foldable electronic device (1600). The foldable electronic device (1600) may include a foldable housing (1610) comprising a first housing part (1611) and a second housing part (1612) rotatably coupled to the first housing part (1611). The foldable electronic device (1600) may include a hinge assembly (1630) rotatably connecting the first housing part (1611) and the second housing part (1612).

[0123] For example, the foldable electronic device (1600) may include a flexible display (1620). The aforementioned display (e.g., the display (230) of FIG. 3) may correspond to the flexible display (1620). At least a portion of the flexible display (1620) may be folded or unfolded depending on the rotation of the first housing part (1611) and / or the rotation of the second housing part (1612). For example, the flexible display (1620) may include a first portion (1621) corresponding to the first housing part (1611), a second portion (1622) corresponding to the second housing part (1612), and a third portion (1623) extending from the first portion (1621) to the second portion (1622) and configured to be bent by a hinge assembly (1630). The third part (1623) may be bent when the first housing part (1611) and the second housing part (1612) are folded. For example, when the foldable electronic device (1600) is in a folded state, the third part (1623) may be bent. In the unfolded state of the foldable electronic device (1600), the first part (1621), the second part (1622), and the third part (1623) may form substantially the same plane. In the folded state of the foldable electronic device (1600), the first part (1621) and the second part (1622) may face each other.

[0124] FIG. 17 is a top view of a foldable electronic device. FIG. 18 is a cross-sectional view of D-D' of FIG. 17.

[0125] Referring to FIGS. 17 and 18, the foldable electronic device (1600) may include a foldable housing (1610) comprising a first housing part (1611) and a second housing part (1612), a flexible display (e.g., the flexible display (1620) of FIG. 16), a bracket (1710), a sealing member (1720), a speaker module (1730), an adhesive member (1740), and / or a waterproof tape (1780).

[0126] A waterproof tape (1780) can define a waterproof portion within a foldable electronic device (1600). For example, the waterproof tape (1780) can be placed between the rear side (1822) of a flexible display (1620) and the plate (1810) of a bracket (1710) spaced apart from the flexible display (1620). The waterproof tape (1780) can define a waterproof portion that encloses electronic components placed on the bracket (1710).

[0127] According to one embodiment, the bracket (1710) may include a plate (1810). The plate (1810) may include a first surface (1811) and a second surface (1812) opposite to the first surface (1811). The first surface (1811) of the plate (1810) may be described as a surface of the plate (1810) facing the rear side (1822) of the flexible display (1620) opposite to the front side (1821) of the flexible display (1620). The first surface (1811) of the plate (1810) may be described as a surface of the plate (1810) facing the front side of the foldable electronic device (1600).

[0128] A bracket (1710) may be placed on a first housing part (1611). The bracket (1710) may support or accommodate electronic components within the first housing part (1611). For example, a flexible display (1620) may be placed above or on a first surface (1811) of the bracket (1710). At least a portion of the flexible display (1620) (e.g., the first portion (1621) of FIG. 16) may be supported by the bracket (1710).

[0129] According to one embodiment, a sealing member (1720) may be positioned to seal a first portion (1813) of a plate (1810) of a flexible display (1620) and a first internal volume (1750) defined by the sealing member (1720). For example, the sealing member (1720) may be positioned between the flexible display (1620) and the first portion (1813) of the plate (1810) of the bracket (1710) for sealing. For example, a sealing area (1721) surrounded by the sealing member (1720) may be defined. The sealing member (1720) may form the sealing area (1721) in a circular shape, but is not limited thereto. For example, the sealing area (1721) may be formed in a triangular shape. For example, the sealing member (1720) may include a bond, resin, or tape. However, various embodiments are not limited thereto. For example, the sealing member (1720) may include a sponge.

[0130] According to one embodiment, the speaker module (1730) may include a speaker (1731) and an enclosure (1733). The speaker (1731) may be configured to output acoustic signals. For example, the speaker (1731) may include a diaphragm (1732), a magnet, and a voice coil. The diaphragm (1732) may vibrate to output acoustic signals. Acoustic signals output according to the vibration of the diaphragm (1732) may be provided to the outside of the electronic device through an acoustic port (1734). The magnet and the voice coil may be configured to cause vibration of the diaphragm (1732). The enclosure (1733) may enclose the speaker (1731). For example, the enclosure (1733) may enclose at least a portion of the speaker (1731). The enclosure (1733) may define a second internal volume (1760) as a rear volume (or resonance space) of the speaker (1731). The second internal volume (1760) may function as a rear chamber (or rear volume) of the speaker module (1730). For example, the rear chamber may be referred to as a space defined on the rear side of the speaker (1731). The rear chamber may be referred to as a back chamber.

[0131] When the thickness of the foldable electronic device (1600) is reduced, the size of the enclosure (1733) may be reduced. As the size of the enclosure (1733) is reduced, the second internal volume (1760) of the enclosure (1733) may also be reduced. The reduction of the second internal volume (1760) may degrade the quality of acoustic signals. For example, if the volume of the resonance space (or rear volume) of the speaker module (1730) is small, the quality of low-frequency acoustic signals may be degraded.

[0132] According to one embodiment, the speaker module (1730) may be placed below the plate (1810) of the bracket (1710). For example, the speaker module (1730) may be placed on a second surface (1812) opposite to the first surface (1811) of the plate (1810) of the bracket (1710) facing the flexible display (1620).

[0133] The foldable electronic device (1600) may include an opening (1712). For example, the opening (1712) may be defined in a portion of the plate (1810) and / or the enclosure (1733). As illustrated in FIG. 5, the plate (1810) may define the opening (1712). The plate (1810) and the enclosure (1733) may define the opening (1712).

[0134] The opening portion (1712) can acoustically combine the first internal volume (1750) and the second internal volume (1760) with each other. For example, the first internal volume (1750) can function as an extended rear chamber (or rear volume) of the speaker module (1730) because it is acoustically combined with the second internal volume (1760) through the opening portion (1712). For example, the foldable electronic device (1600) may have a first internal volume (1750) acoustically coupled with the second internal volume (1760), defined by the enclosure (1733) of the speaker module (1730) as a resonance space for the speaker module (1730), as well as a first part (1813) of the plate (1810) of the display (230) and the sealing member (1720). Since the foldable electronic device (1600) has the first internal volume (1750) and the second internal volume (1760) as a resonance space for the speaker module (1730), a large resonance space for acoustic signals may be provided. Due to the large resonance space, the quality of the acoustic signal output from the speaker module (1730) may be relatively high. For example, since the acoustic compliance of the resonance space is proportional to the volume of the resonance space, the larger the volume of the resonance space, the lower the acoustic stiffness of the resonance space may be. The lower the acoustic stiffness, the lower the resonance frequency of the speaker module (1730) may be. As the resonance frequency decreases, the quality of the acoustic signals may be improved because acoustic signals having low frequencies can resonate at the resonance frequency. Since the speaker module (1730) has a resonance space provided through the first internal volume (1750) and the second internal volume (1760), the output quality of acoustic signals with relatively long wavelengths can be enhanced.

[0135] The first internal volume (1750) can function as a resonance space of the speaker module (1730) together with the second internal volume (1760). For example, the first internal volume (1750) can function as an extended rear chamber of the speaker module (1730). Because the first internal volume (1750) functions as an extended rear chamber, the flexible display (1620) can receive vibrations generated by the diaphragm (1732). For example, the flexible display (1620) can vibrate due to said vibrations. Vibrations of the flexible display (1620) can degrade the quality of visual information displayed through the flexible display (1620). Alternatively, the usability of the foldable electronic device (1600) may be reduced by the vibrations being transmitted to the user.

[0136] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (1740) may be positioned to reduce vibrations applied to a flexible display (1620) as an acoustic signal is output using a speaker module (1730). For example, a first internal volume (1750) may function as a resonance space of the speaker module (1730) together with a second internal volume (1760). For example, the first internal volume (1750) may function as an extended rear chamber (or resonance space) of the speaker module (1730). Since the first internal volume (1750) functions as an extended rear chamber, the flexible display (1620) may receive vibrations generated by the diaphragm (1732). For example, the flexible display (1620) may vibrate due to said vibrations. The adhesive member (1740) may reduce said vibrations. For example, the adhesive member (1740) can be positioned aligned with the center of the sealing area (1721), where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest when the frequency of the acoustic signals is in the first mode. Since the adhesive member (1740) is positioned in the part where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest, the amplitude can be reduced. Because the amplitude of the acoustic signals is reduced, the vibration can be reduced.

[0137] The adhesive member (1740) may be placed between the flexible display (1620) and the bracket (1710). For example, the adhesive member (1740) may attach the rear side (1822) of the flexible display (1620) and the second part (1814) of the plate (1810) of the bracket (1710). For example, the adhesive member (1740) may be placed within the first internal volume (1750). For example, the adhesive member (1740) may be placed within the sealing area (1721) surrounded by the sealing member (1720). For example, the adhesive member (1740) may be attached to the rear side (1822) of the flexible display (1620) and the second part (1814) of the plate (1810) of the bracket (1710), respectively, to reduce vibration of the flexible display (1620) caused by vibration transmitted from the diaphragm (1732) to the first internal volume (1750).

[0138] According to one embodiment, the adhesive member (1740) may include an electrically conductive material. For example, the adhesive member (1740) may include copper, but is not limited thereto. For example, the adhesive member (1740) may include silver. For example, the adhesive member (1740) may include aluminum. For example, a flexible display (1620) may be electrically connected to a plate (1810) of a bracket (1710) that can function as a ground for a foldable electronic device (1600) through the adhesive member (1740) which includes a conductive material.

[0139] According to one embodiment, the width of the opening portion (1712) may be wider than the width corresponding to the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (1731) of the speaker module (1730). For example, the width of the opening portion (1712) may be determined by the human audible frequency. For example, the human audible frequency may be about 20 Hz. The width of the opening portion (1712) may be wider than about 1 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (1731) is about 20 Hz. The width of the opening portion (1712) may be wider than about 0.16 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (1731) is about 100 Hz.

[0140] The geometric center portion of the first internal volume (1750) of the foldable electronic device (1600) of FIG. 17 may be referenced as the geometric center portion (1010) of the first internal volume (450) of the electronic device (200) of FIG. 10. The first portion of the adhesive member (1740) of the foldable electronic device (1600) of FIG. 17 may be referenced as the first portion (610) of the adhesive member (440) of FIG. 6. The second portion of the adhesive member (1740) of the foldable electronic device (1600) of FIG. 17 may be referenced as the second portion (620) of the adhesive member (440) of FIG. 6. The third portion of the adhesive member (1740) of the foldable electronic device (1600) of FIG. 17 may be referenced as the third portion (630) of the adhesive member (440) of FIG. 6. Another adhesive member of the foldable electronic device (1600) of FIG. 17 may be referenced as another adhesive member (1210) of FIG. 12. The width of the opening portion (1712) of the foldable electronic device of FIG. 17 may be referenced as the width (413) of the opening portion (412) of the electronic device (200) of FIG. 5.

[0141] FIG. 19 illustrates a multi-foldable electronic device.

[0142] Referring to FIG. 19, the aforementioned electronic device (e.g., the electronic device (200) of FIG. 5) can be implemented in various form factors.

[0143] An electronic device (200) according to various embodiments may include a multi-foldable electronic device (1900). The multi-foldable electronic device (1900) may include a first housing part (1911), a second housing part (1912) rotatably coupled to the first housing part (1911), and a third housing part (1913) rotatably coupled to the second housing part (1912). The multi-foldable electronic device (1900) may include a first hinge assembly (1931) configured to rotatably coupled the first housing part (1911) and the second housing part (1912), and a second hinge assembly (1932) configured to rotatably coupled the second housing part (1912) and the third housing part (1913).

[0144] For example, the multi-foldable electronic device (1900) may include a flexible display (1920). The aforementioned display may correspond to the flexible display (1920). At least a portion of the flexible display (1920) may be folded or unfolded. For example, the flexible display (1920) may include a first part (1921) corresponding to a first housing part (1911), a second part (1922) corresponding to a second housing part (1912), and a third part (1923) corresponding to a third housing part (1913). The flexible display (1920) may include a bendable portion (1941) between the first portion (1921) and the second portion (1922) when the first housing part (1911) and the second housing part (1912) are folded, and a bendable portion (1942) between the second portion (1922) and the third portion (1923) when the second housing part (1912) and the third housing part (1913) are folded. In the fully unfolded state of the multi-foldable electronic device (1900), the first portion (1921), the second portion (1922), and the third portion (1993) may form substantially the same plane.

[0145] FIG. 20 is a top view of a multi-foldable electronic device. FIG. 21 is a cross-sectional view of E-E' of FIG. 20.

[0146] Referring to FIGS. 20 and 21, a multi-foldable electronic device (1900) may include a flexible display (1920), a bracket (2010), a sealing member (2020), a speaker module (2030), an adhesive member (2040), another adhesive member (2041), and / or a waterproof tape (2080). For example, the components (e.g., bracket (2010), sealing member (2020), speaker module (2030), adhesive member (2040), other adhesive member (2041), and / or waterproof tape (2080)) are depicted as being contained within a second housing part (1912), but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the components may be contained within a first housing part (1911) or a third housing part (1913).

[0147] The bracket (2010) may include a plate (2110). The plate (2110) may include a first surface (2111) and a second surface (2112) opposite to the first surface (2112). The first surface (2111) of the plate (2110) may be described as a surface of the plate (2110) facing the rear side (2122) of the flexible display (1920) opposite to the front side (2121) of the flexible display (1920). The first surface (2111) of the plate (2110) may be described as a surface of the plate (2110) facing the front side of the multi-foldable electronic device (1900). The first surface (2111) of the plate (2110) may be described as a surface of the plate (2110) positioned in the +z direction. The second surface (2112) of the plate (2110) can be described as a surface of the plate (2110) positioned in the -z direction.

[0148] The bracket (2010) may support or accommodate other components included in the multi-foldable electronic device (1900). For example, a flexible display (1920) may be placed above or on a first surface (2111) of the bracket (2010) facing the +z direction. At least a portion of the flexible display (1920) may be supported by the bracket (2010). For example, a hinge assembly (1932) may be placed above or on the bracket (2010) facing the +z direction. As an example without limitation, the hinge assembly (1932) may be placed next to the bracket (2010).

[0149] According to one embodiment, a sealing member (2020) may be positioned to seal a portion of the plate (2110) of a flexible display (1920) and a first internal volume (2050) defined by the sealing member (2020). For example, the sealing member (2020) may be positioned between the flexible display (1920) and the portion of the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010) for sealing. The sealing member (2020) may define a sealing area (2021) in a circular shape, but various embodiments are not limited thereto. For example, the sealing member (2020) may define a sealing area (2021) in a triangular shape. The sealing member (2020) may include a bond, a resin, or a tape. However, various embodiments are not limited thereto. For example, the sealing member (2020) may include a sponge.

[0150] The speaker module (2030) may include a speaker (2031) and an enclosure (2033). The speaker (2031) may be configured to output acoustic signals. For example, the speaker (2031) may include a diaphragm (2032), a magnet, and a voice coil. The diaphragm (2032) may vibrate to output acoustic signals. Acoustic signals output according to the vibration of the diaphragm (2032) may be provided to the outside of the multi-foldable electronic device (1900) through an acoustic port (2034). The magnet and the voice coil may be configured to cause vibration of the diaphragm (2032). The enclosure (2033) may enclose the speaker (2031). For example, the enclosure (2033) may enclose at least a portion of the speaker (2031).

[0151] The enclosure (2033) may define a second internal volume (2060) as a rear volume (or resonance space) of the speaker (2031). The second internal volume (2060) may function as a rear chamber of the speaker module (2030). For example, the rear chamber may be referred to as a space defined on the rear side of the speaker (2031). The rear chamber may be referred to as a back chamber.

[0152] When the thickness of the multi-foldable electronic device (1900) is reduced, the size of the enclosure (2033) may be reduced. As the size of the enclosure (2033) is reduced, the second internal volume (2060) of the enclosure (2033) may also be reduced. The reduction of the second internal volume (2060) may degrade the quality of acoustic signals. For example, if the volume of the resonance space of the speaker module (2030) is small, the quality of low-frequency acoustic signals may be degraded.

[0153] According to one embodiment, the speaker module (2030) may be placed below the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010). For example, the speaker module (2030) may be placed on the second surface (2112) of the plate (2110) opposite to the first surface (2111) of the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010) facing the flexible display (1920).

[0154] According to one embodiment, a portion of the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010) may include an opening (2012). The opening (2012) may acoustically connect the first internal volume (2050) and the second internal volume (2060) to each other. For example, the first internal volume (2050) may function as an extended rear chamber of the speaker module (2030) because it is acoustically connected to the second internal volume (2060) through the opening (2012). For example, the multi-foldable electronic device (1900) may have a first internal volume (2050) acoustically coupled with the second internal volume (2060), defined by the enclosure (2033) of the speaker module (2030) as a resonance space for the speaker module (2030), as well as defined by the display (230), a portion of the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010), and a sealing member (2020). Since the multi-foldable electronic device (1900) has the first internal volume (2050) and the second internal volume (2060) as a resonance space for the speaker module (2030), the quality of the acoustic signal output from the speaker module (2030) may be relatively high. The speaker module (2030) can enhance the output quality of acoustic signals with relatively long wavelengths because it has a resonance space provided through the first internal volume (2050) and the second internal volume (2060).

[0155] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (2040) may be positioned to reduce vibrations applied to a flexible display (1920) as an acoustic signal is output using a speaker module (2030). For example, the first internal volume (2050) may function as a resonance space of the speaker module (2030) together with the second internal volume (2060). For example, the first internal volume (2050) may function as an extended rear chamber of the speaker module (2030). Since the first internal volume (2050) functions as an extended rear chamber, the flexible display (1920) may receive vibrations generated by the diaphragm (2032). For example, the flexible display (1920) may vibrate due to said vibrations. The adhesive member (2040) may reduce said vibrations. For example, the adhesive member (2040) can be positioned at a location corresponding to the frequency mode of the acoustic signals to reduce the vibration. For example, the adhesive member (2040) can be positioned aligned with the center of the sealing area (2021), where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest when the frequency of the acoustic signals is in the first mode. Since the adhesive member (2040) is positioned at the part where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest, the amplitude can be reduced. Since the amplitude of the acoustic signals is reduced, the vibration can be reduced.

[0156] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (2040) and another adhesive member (2041) may be disposed between a flexible display (1920) and a bracket (2010). For example, the adhesive member (2040) may attach a portion of the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010) to the rear side (2122) of the flexible display (1920). For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may be disposed within a first internal volume (2050). For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may be disposed within a sealing area (2021) defined by the flexible display (1920), a portion of the plate (2110), and a sealing member (2020). For example, an adhesive member (2040) and another adhesive member (2041) may be attached to the rear side (2122) of the flexible display (1920) and the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010), respectively, to reduce vibration of the flexible display (1920) caused by outputting an acoustic signal through the speaker module (2030).

[0157] According to one embodiment, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may include an electrically conductive material. For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may include copper, but are not limited thereto. For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may include silver. For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may include aluminum. For example, the display (230) may be electrically connected to the plate (2110) of the bracket (2010), which can function as the ground of the multi-foldable electronic device (1900), through the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) that include a conductive material.

[0158] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (2040) and another adhesive member (2041) may be arranged to reduce vibrations applied to a flexible display (1920) as an acoustic signal is output using a speaker module (2030). For example, a first internal volume (2050) may function as a resonance space of the speaker module (2030) together with a second internal volume (2060). For example, the first internal volume (2050) may function as an extended rear chamber of the speaker module (2030). Since the first internal volume (2050) functions as a rear chamber, the flexible display (1920) may receive vibrations generated by a diaphragm (2032). The flexible display (1920) may vibrate due to said vibrations. The adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may reduce said vibrations. For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) can be positioned at locations corresponding to the frequency modes of the acoustic signals to reduce the vibration. For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) can be positioned aligned with the center of the sealing area (2021), where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest when the frequency of the acoustic signals is in the first mode. Since the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) are positioned at the part where the amplitude of the frequency is greatest, the amplitude can be reduced. Since the amplitude of the acoustic signals is reduced, the vibration can be reduced.

[0159] According to one embodiment, an adhesive member (2040) and another adhesive member (2041) may be disposed between a flexible display (1920) and a hinge assembly (1932). For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may attach the rear side (2122) of the flexible display (1920) to the hinge assembly (1932). For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may be disposed within a first internal volume (2050). For example, the adhesive member (2040) and the other adhesive member (2041) may be disposed within a sealing area (2021) defined by the flexible display (1920), a bracket (2010), a hinge assembly (1932), and a sealing member (2020). For example, an adhesive member (2040) and another adhesive member (2041) may be attached to the rear side (2122) and hinge assembly (1932) of the flexible display (1920), respectively, to reduce vibration of the flexible display (1920) caused by outputting an acoustic signal through the speaker module (2030).

[0160] According to one embodiment, the width of the opening portion (2012) may be wider than the width corresponding to the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (2031) of the speaker module (2030). For example, the width of the opening portion (2012) may be determined by the human audible frequency. For example, the human audible frequency may be about 20 Hz. The width of the opening portion (2012) may be wider than about 1 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (2031) is about 20 Hz. The width of the opening portion (2012) may be wider than about 0.4 mm² when the minimum frequency of the acoustic signal output by the speaker (2031) is about 100 Hz.
