Description

Cooling device for a laser pump chamber

[0001] The present invention relates to a cooling device for a laser pump chamber, and more specifically, to a cooling device for a laser pump chamber capable of cooling a flash lamp and a laser rod section respectively using cooling water in a single tank.

[0002] In the field of dermatology, laser procedures are widely used for the treatment of vascular and pigmented skin diseases, as well as for the removal of tattoos and benign tumors.

[0003] Among them, the most commonly treated with lasers are pigmented skin conditions such as seborrheic keratosis, melasma, ephelis, solar lentigo, melanocytic nevus, and dermal melanocytosis.

[0004] Pigmented skin disorders are a type of skin discoloration caused by an excessive increase in the amount of melanin within the skin tissue. Melanin is biosynthesized in dendritic cells called melanocytes located between the cells of the skin's basal layer. Melanocytes are pigment-forming cells that produce melanin, and a pigmented skin disorder can be diagnosed when the amount of melanin is excessive or when it is distributed in locations where it would not normally be present. These pigmented skin disorders are sometimes accompanied by pathological changes in elements such as epidermal proliferation or atrophy, or various skin appendages of the dermis.

[0005] The cause of an excessive increase in melanin is the abnormal production of melanin due to skin exposure to ultraviolet rays and inflammation. If melanin is produced excessively, or if existing melanin migrates excessively to keratinocytes due to stimulation, it can cause various pigment disorders or worsen existing ones.

[0006] Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a response of epidermal melanocytes and various cells composing the dermis to skin irritation, resulting from the abnormal distribution or increase of melanin in wounded tissue. The excessive production of melanin consequently causes excessive pigmentation in the inflamed area. The duration of this pigmentation can be influenced by local or systemic factors and, in some cases, may persist for a long period ranging from several months to several years.

[0007] With recent advancements in laser technology, a diverse range of therapeutic laser devices for treating skin diseases are being developed. Laser treatment for pigmented skin conditions is a method that selectively destroys melanin pigments in the epidermal and dermal layers using high-output energy, while minimizing skin tissue damage by shortening the exposure time of laser energy to the skin.

[0008] A laser generator for skin treatment includes a laser pump chamber for generating a laser of a specific wavelength required for skin treatment, and the laser pump chamber includes a flash lamp for a light source and a laser rod that receives only light within a preset wavelength range from the light generated by the flash lamp.

[0009] It is desirable for the flash lamp and laser rod for the light source to be maintained at a preset operating temperature for smooth operation, and each is maintained at the preset temperature using a separate cooling device.

[0010] However, conventional therapeutic laser equipment uses separate cooling devices to maintain the operating temperature of the flash lamp for the light source in the laser pump chamber and the laser rod, which results in high manufacturing costs and problems with inconvenient operation and maintenance.

[0011] The objective of the present invention is to provide a cooling device for a laser pump chamber capable of cooling a flash lamp and a laser rod section, respectively, using cooling water in a single tank.

[0012] To achieve the above objectives, one embodiment of a cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention is a cooling device for a laser pump chamber that maintains the operating temperature of a light source flash lamp and a laser rod in a laser pump chamber comprising a light source flash lamp that generates light for a light source and a laser rod that receives and transmits only light within a preset wavelength range from the light source light, and is characterized by comprising: a lamp tube portion that surrounds the light source flash lamp and is provided with a first flow path through which a cooling fluid passes; a rod tube portion that surrounds the laser rod and is provided with a second flow path through which a cooling fluid passes; a fluid storage tank portion that stores the cooling fluid; and a fluid circulation line portion that supplies the fluid within the fluid storage tank portion to the lamp tube portion and the rod tube portion, respectively, and stores the cooling fluid discharged from the lamp tube portion and the rod tube portion in the fluid storage tank portion.

[0013] In the present invention, the fluid circulation line section may include a main supply line member connected to the outlet of the fluid storage tank section, a first supply line member connecting the main supply line member to the inlet of the first flow path to supply cooling fluid into the first flow path, a second supply line member connecting the main supply line member to the inlet of the second flow path to supply cooling fluid into the second flow path, a main discharge line member connected to the outlet of the fluid storage tank section, a first discharge line member connecting the main discharge line member to the outlet of the first flow path to discharge cooling fluid within the first flow path, and a second discharge line member connecting the main discharge line member to the outlet of the second flow path to discharge cooling fluid within the second flow path.

[0014] One embodiment of the cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention may further include a heat exchanger provided in the main discharge line member and cooling a cooling fluid discharged from the first flow path and the second flow path.

[0015] One embodiment of the cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention may further include a fluid heating heater unit provided in the second supply line member and heating a cooling fluid that flows into the second flow path through the second supply line member.

[0016] One embodiment of the cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention may further include a fluid circulation pump provided in the fluid circulation line portion for circulating a cooling fluid.

[0017] In the present invention, the first supply line member and the second supply line member may each be provided with a first valve and a second valve for controlling the flow rate of cooling water supplied into the first flow path and the second flow path, respectively.

[0018] In the present invention, the second supply line member may be equipped with a first temperature sensor that measures the temperature of a cooling fluid heated by the fluid heating heater between the inlet of the second flow path and the fluid heating heater.

[0019] In the present invention, prior to the heater part for heating the fluid, a second temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the cooling fluid may be provided in the second supply line member or the main supply line member.

[0020] One embodiment of the cooling device for a pump chamber for a laser according to the present invention may further include a lamp temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the flash lamp for the light source and a load temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the laser load.

[0021] One embodiment of the cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention further comprises a cooling control unit that controls the operation of the fluid heating heater unit, the fluid circulation pump, the first valve, and the second valve, wherein the cooling control unit receives temperature information from the lamp temperature sensor, the load temperature sensor, the first temperature sensor, and the second temperature sensor, respectively, controls the operation of the fluid circulation pump, the first valve, and the second valve to control the flow rate of cooling water supplied into the first flow path and the second flow path, and controls the operation of the fluid heating heater unit to maintain the operating temperatures of the light source flash lamp and the laser rod at a constant, preset temperature.

[0022] In the present invention, the tube portion for the lamp and the tube portion for the rod can be manufactured from quartz material.

[0023] The present invention allows the flash lamp and the laser rod to be cooled separately using cooling water in a single tank, thereby simplifying the cooling structure of the laser pump chamber, which can significantly reduce manufacturing and maintenance costs, and has the effect of miniaturizing the size of the laser generator.

[0063]

[0064] Meanwhile, one embodiment of the cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention further includes a fluid storage tank section (300) for storing a cooling fluid and a fluid circulation line section (400) for supplying the fluid in the fluid storage tank section (300) to a lamp tube section (100) and a rod tube section (200), respectively, and storing the cooling fluid discharged from the lamp tube section (100) and the rod tube section (200) in the fluid storage tank section (300).

[0065] It should be noted that the cooling fluid is exemplified as cooling water, and since it can be implemented with various modifications using other known fluids that can be used for temperature control, further detailed explanations are omitted.

[0066] The fluid circulation line section (400) can be implemented in various modified forms, such as a known structure that transports fluid in the form of a pipe or hose.

[0067] The fluid circulation line section (400) comprises a main supply line member (410) connected to the outlet of the fluid storage tank section (300), a first supply line member (420) connecting the main supply line member (410) to the inlet of the first flow path (100a) to supply cooling fluid into the first flow path (100a), a second supply line member (430) connecting the main supply line member (410) to the inlet of the second flow path (200a) to supply cooling fluid into the second flow path (200a), a main discharge line member (440) connected to the outlet of the fluid storage tank section (300), a first discharge line member (450) connecting the main discharge line member (440) to the outlet of the first flow path (100a) to discharge cooling fluid within the first flow path (100a), and the main discharge line member (440) and the second flow path (200a). It includes a second discharge line member (460) that connects the outlet to discharge cooling fluid within the second Euro (200a).

[0068] The cooling fluid stored in the fluid storage tank (300) is discharged through the main supply line member (410) and then supplied into the first flow path (100a) through the first supply line member (420), and is discharged through the first discharge line member (450) to cool the flash lamp (11) for the light source, thereby allowing the flash lamp (11) for the light source to operate at a constant operating temperature.

[0069] Additionally, the cooling fluid stored in the fluid storage tank (300) is discharged through the main supply line member (410) and then supplied into the second flow path (200a) through the second supply line member (430), and is discharged through the second discharge line member (460) to cool the laser rod (12), thereby enabling the laser rod (12) to operate by smoothly selectively absorbing light of a specific wavelength range at a constant operating temperature.

[0070] In addition, one embodiment of the cooling device for a pump chamber for a laser according to the present invention may further include a fluid circulation pump (500) provided in a fluid circulation line section (400) for circulating a cooling fluid.

[0071] The fluid circulation pump (500) is exemplified as a fluid pump that circulates cooling water, which is a cooling fluid.

[0072] In addition, the first supply line member (420) and the second supply line member (430) are each equipped with a first valve (600) and a second valve (700) for controlling the flow rate of cooling water supplied into the first flow path (100a) and the second flow path (200a), respectively.

[0073] The first valve (600) and the second valve (700) are each known electronically controllable solenoid valves, further detailed description omitted, and their operation is controlled by the cooling control unit (800) to control the flow rate of the cooling water circulating through the first flow path (100a) and the second flow path (200a).

[0074] One embodiment of the cooling device for a laser pump chamber according to the present invention further includes a cooling control unit (800) that controls the operation of a fluid circulation pump (500), a first valve (600), and a second valve (700) to control the flow rate of a cooling fluid circulated to a first fluid path (100a) and a second fluid path (200a).

[0075] Additionally, one embodiment of the cooling device for a pump chamber for a laser according to the present invention further includes a heat exchanger (1000) provided in a main discharge line member (440) and cooling a cooling fluid discharged from a first flow path (100a) and a second flow path (200a).

[0076] After passing through the first Euro (100a), the cooling water discharged through the first discharge line member (450) is heated while cooling the flash lamp (11) for the light source and its temperature is raised, and after passing through the second Euro (200a), the cooling water discharged through the second discharge line member (460) is heated while cooling the laser rod (12) and its temperature is raised.

[0077] Accordingly, the cooling water discharged through the first discharge line member (450) and the cooling water discharged through the second discharge line member (460) are mixed in the main discharge line member (440) and their temperatures are equilibrated, and the temperature of the equilibrated cooling water is also higher than the temperature of the cooling water that must flow into the first flow path (100a) and the second flow path (200a) through the main supply line member (410).

[0078] The heat exchanger (1000) cools the temperature of the heated cooling water while cooling the flash lamp (11) and laser rod (12) for the light source, and then cools it in the main discharge line member (440) so that it can be supplied back to the fluid storage tank (300).

[0079] The heat exchanger (1000) is provided in a main discharge line member (440) where cooling fluid discharged from the first flow path (100a) and the second flow path (200a) is mixed, efficiently cooling the cooling fluid discharged from the first flow path (100a) and the second flow path (200a) and introducing it into the fluid storage tank (300) at a constant temperature.

[0080] It should be noted that the heat exchanger (1000) can be implemented with various modifications using known heat exchangers, so further detailed description is omitted.

[0083] The fluid heating heater unit (900) is electrically connected to the cooling control unit (800) to control its operation, and the cooling control unit (800) controls the operation of the fluid heating heater unit (900) to heat the cooling fluid to a preset temperature corresponding to the operating temperature of the laser rod (12) and supply it into the second flow path (200a).

[0084] Additionally, the second supply line member (430) is equipped with a first temperature sensor (810) that measures the temperature of the cooling fluid, i.e., the cooling water, heated by the fluid heating heater unit (900) and transmits it to the cooling control unit (800) between the inlet of the second flow path (200a) and the fluid heating heater unit (900).

[0085] The cooling control unit (800) checks the temperature of the cooling fluid, i.e., the cooling water supplied into the second flow path (200a), through the first temperature sensor (810), and controls the operation of the fluid heating heater unit (900) to adjust the temperature of the cooling water flowing into the second flow path (200a) to a preset temperature.

[0086] Additionally, prior to the fluid heating heater unit (900), the second supply line member (430) or the main supply line member (410) is equipped with a second temperature sensor (820) that measures the temperature of the cooling fluid, i.e., the cooling water, and transmits it to the cooling control unit (800).

[0087] The cooling control unit (800) checks the temperature of the cooling water before it is heated by the fluid heating heater unit (900) through the second temperature sensor (820) and checks the temperature of the cooling fluid, i.e., the cooling water supplied into the second flow path (200a), through the first temperature sensor (810), thereby controlling the operation of the fluid heating heater unit (900) so that the temperature of the cooling water flowing into the second flow path (200a) can be accurately adjusted to a preset temperature.

[0088] In addition, one embodiment of the cooling device for a pump chamber for a laser according to the present invention may further include a lamp temperature sensor (830) that detects the temperature of a flash lamp (11) for a light source and transmits it to a cooling control unit (800), and a load temperature sensor (840) that detects the temperature of a laser rod (12) and transmits it to a cooling control unit (800).

[0089] In addition, the cooling control unit (800) receives temperature information from the lamp temperature sensor (830), the load temperature sensor (840), the first temperature sensor (810), and the second temperature sensor (820), and controls the operation of the fluid circulation pump (500), the first valve (600), and the second valve (700) to control the flow rate of the cooling water supplied into the first flow path (100a) and the second flow path (200a), and also controls the operation of the fluid heating heater unit (900) to maintain the operating temperature of the light source flash lamp (11) and the laser rod (12) at a constant preset temperature.

[0090] That is, the present invention allows the flash lamp and the laser rod (12) to be cooled separately using cooling water in a single tank, thereby simplifying the cooling structure of the laser pump chamber (10), which can significantly reduce manufacturing and maintenance costs, and can also miniaturize the size of the laser generator.
