Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] REUSABLE GLASS CUP
[0003] Technical Field of the Invention
[0004] The invention relates to a reusable glass cup design which can be used after consumption, instead of single-use ready beverage packages and bottles.
[0005] State of the Art of the Invention
[0006] Packages and bottles used in fast-consumption beverages harm the environment if they are not recycled. For this reason, governments and companies use various methods to recycle such waste. With the reuse and recycling methods among these various methods mentioned, the potential both to reduce environmental damage and to keep the need for raw material consumption in balance is evident.
[0007] Various techniques are used to meet this recycling need. Foremost among these is the material from which the produced package or bottle is made. Packages and bottles produced from raw materials such as aluminum, glass, or plastic are among the raw materials suitable for recycling. In addition to recycling, reuse is also an important technique. This may be defined as the continued use by consumers of produced packages in accordance with their production purposes or for different purposes. However, it is also an important matter that consumers must become aware in order to collect, recycle, or reuse packages produced from such recyclable raw materials.
[0008] In order to prevent users from leaving such recyclable packaging waste in nature, governments, companies, and various non-profit organizations attempt to direct consumers toward recycling and / or reuse through techniques such as campaigns, informational activities, and packaging models. However, it is evident that the rate of packages produced through recycling on the consumer side is low. For this reason, it is important to encourage consumers toward recycling and reuse.
[0009] The document published as US2001035417A1 relates to wide-mouthed containers in the form of mugs, glass bottles or cups, which may be recyclable, reusable or disposable, wherein foodand beverage containers are connected to each other. In the document, it is mentioned that the mentioned container can be purchased with a ready-to-drink beverage, can be reused according to the consumer’s preference, or can be disposable, and that another container for placing snacks may additionally be provided on said container.
[0010] The document published as US2013146593A1 relates to reusable cups for ready beverage cups. The document mentions the pollution caused by disposable cups for coffees sold at coffee outlets worldwide. The document describes a reusable, practical cup design.
[0011] The document published as CN203158374U relates to a reusable plastic packaging bottle. The document mentions increasing the reuse of the plastic beverage bottle used and reducing pollution. A bottle model that increases the reuse of the plastic beverage bottle is described.
[0012] As a result, all of the above-mentioned problems have made it necessary to introduce an innovation in the relevant field.
[0013] Objects and Summary of the Invention
[0014] The main object of the invention is to provide a reusable glass cup design containing a beverage, for reusable bottled beverages, which will help protect nature by preventing glass waste.
[0015] The object of the invention is to provide a reusable lidded glass cup design containing a beverage, having low volume and occupying less space.
[0016] The object of the invention is to create a reusable, lidded glass cup design containing a beverage, which will encourage consumers toward reuse.
[0017] The object of the invention is a reusable, lidded glass cup design containing a beverage, which can be securely closed, packaged, and consumed.Descriptions of the Drawings Describing the Invention

[0039] The subject matter of the invention relates to a glass cup design which, in addition to enabling recycling of the packaging of ready-produced beverages sold on shelves after consumption, with its reusable glass cup design, encourages consumers to use it in their daily lives, at home and / or at workplaces.
[0040] It is aimed that single-portion beverages packaged and offered for sale on shelves using said glass cup design will, after consumption of the beverage, allow consumers to continue using said glass cup, and furthermore, by means of the design, to occupy less shelf space and facilitate arrangement on shelves, thereby both reducing environmental damage and decreasing waste of shelf space.
[0041] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the design created to enable continued use at home and in daily life after consumption of the purchased single-portion beverage comprises a glass cup body (1), with or without a handle (1.1) suitable for home use, and formed in alternative designs of different volumes, a holding member (2.2) connected at the end of a lid connection member (2.3) and a lid (2) to which a holding member (2.2) is connected at the end of a lid connection member (2.3), used to securely preserve the beverage inside, wherein the diameter ratio difference between the cup mouth portion (1.3) and the cup base portion (1.4) is between 40% and 10%, such that it is wider than normal beverage bottles; and / or wherein the diameter ratios of the cup mouth portion (1.3) and the cup base portion (1.4) are equal, thereby being of normal cup dimensions and compatible with household use.
[0042] With reference to Fig. 1, la and lb; in a preferred embodiment of the cup design, it comprises a handle (1.2) placed on the cup body (1) to facilitate holding, a cup mouth (1.3) designed wider than normal beverage bottles, and a lid engagement protrusion (1.2) drilled on the cup mouth (1.3) and formed in a manner allowing engagement by the lid (2). As can be seen from the top view in Fig. la, the lid (2) is positioned in a size sufficient to completely close the cup mouth (1.3). The lid (2) is closed by engagement between the lid engagement protrusion (1.2) drilled on the cup mouth (1.3) and the lid engagement edge (2.1) located on the lid (2).
[0043] With reference to Fig. 2, 2a and 2b, in another preferred embodiment of the cup design, the glass cup body (1) has a design as shown in Fig. 2, without a handle (1.2) being attached. Inthis alternative design as well, the cup mouth (1.3) is designed wide, and as seen in Fig. 2a, the lid (2) is positioned so as to completely cover the cup mouth (1.3). The lid (2) is closed by engagement of the lid engagement protrusion (1.2) on the cup mouth (1.3), as seen in Fig. 2b, with the lid engagement edge (2.1) on the lid (2).
[0044] With reference to Fig. 3 and 3a; in another preferred embodiment, the lid (2), which may be single-use and recyclable, and which may be produced from a soft metal and / or from an elastic material, engages the mouth portion (1.3) of the cup by means of the lid engagement edge (2.1) thereon, and by means of a plastic gasket (2.4) placed on the inner surface of the lid (2), as shown in Fig. 3 and 3a, the connection of the liquid inside the cup body (1) with the outside is cut off, thereby preventing both air intake and leakage of the liquid contained therein. As shown in Fig. 3 and 3a, the lid (2) comprises a holding member (2.2) in the form of a side-opening ring, connected from the top of the lid (2) toward its side, enabling the consumer to open the lid (2) easily, and it is connected to the lid (2) via the lid connection member (2.3). In this manner, the consumer is enabled to open the lid comfortably. Due to the lid being single-use, it may be sent for recycling after opening.
[0045] The structures described herein may be diversified by means of different cup volumes, designs having different diameter ratios between the cup base and the cup mouth opening, different holding apparatuses, alternative lid designs, and lids produced from alternative materials.
