Abstract
A monitoring apparatus and system are provided. The monitoring apparatus and system may include a housing, which houses a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor, and an apparatus communication module configured to communicate with a computing device. The ToF sensor may be configured to map one or more zones of a volume of interest; detect a disturbance within the volume of interest; in response to detecting the disturbance, re-map the one or more zones; and, output one or both of a detection indicator and mapping information to the computing device via the apparatus communication module.
