Distributed computing system and method for entity profile management across different geographic locations

Abstract

A distributed computing system and method for entity profile management across different geographic locations are provided. The method includes receiving entity identification information including one or both of an entity signature and sensor data generated from one or more sensors in communication with an edge computing device. The method includes searching a global entity profile store for an entity profile which matches the entity identification information. When the entity profile which matches the entity identification information is identified, the entity profile is retrieved for transmission to the edge computing device. When the entity profile which matches the entity identification information is not identified, the entity profile is generated and stored in the global entity profile store. The entity profile is transmitted to the edge computing device for storage in and subsequent retrieval from a local entity profile store accessible thereto.
